Warning about this service!  We had an existing Little Giant 1/3 HP sump pump.  It was not powerful enough to handle the water during very heavy rain.  So we called Gold Medal for help. The technician came here to tell us that we needed a more powerful 1 HP sump pump.  We agreed and paid $853 to replace the existing pump.  After the pump was replaced, we tested the new pump and didn't notice any change in the water flow.  So we checked the new pump label.  To our surprise, the new pump installed was a 0.3 HP PUMP!!!  What a service!  We called them, and they want to charge us another $1500 to get it right.  What a service!!!

Cleared out an entire Sunday afternoon for an appointment. They called at 7:57 PM (3 minutes before the end of the window of time, which was 4-8 PM) to let us know that it would take more than an hour to get here. I have work early Monday, not going to deal with that nonsense. Technician stated that he can show up an hour later, and that if there are no parts, they can just go out to get the parts, then come back again that same day. Where was he going to find a hardware store in this county past 9:30 PM on a Sunday? Please save your time and find a different service.

Wrote a review for Gold. Medal and received a reply that night indicating someone would contact me within 24 hours. No one did. Three days later Gold Medal replied on Yelp asking for my last name and zip code on my account. I sent it as of today 12/15/18 no one has contacted me.

As I said in my original review I think Gold Medal is a scam.

I had previously signed up for their maintenance program and had a technician over for regular equipment check up .... essentially he tried to tell me I needed to spend $800 to fit a filter and clean a coil ... it didn't sound right to me... I took a photo and measurement and went to the hardware store.... it cost me $3.99.  I called Water Works to complain that they attempted to rip me off, a supervisor came over and basically admitted that I was right!

If you're looking for a company that will show up on time THIS IS NOT THE ONE TO GO WITH!! The gentleman that sold us the unit was on time and very nice to work with. The two installers were efficient and clean. That's all I have to say, now lets start with the electrician. The next day, the young man was to show up with assistance approximately 9  a.m., I received a call from him at 9:05 a.m. that his truck broke down in the morning and he had to wait for it to be jumped. He still had to go to the warehouse to get parts and would see me in an hour and a half. Why I didn't receive a call from him to tell me this???? I called the call center to complain. When I called the call center, I was disconnected 3 times, and finally one of the girls said she would try to get a manager to call me back sooner than the 24 hours period that is customary to wait. Yes, he arrived at 10:30 and this was a 2 to 3 hour job.  After the electrician was finished, he told me an HVAC person needed to come out to check out everything and run the system. I WAS told Monday morning between 10-12 p.m. well guess what. I called the call center again was hung up on, called again to be told my time was between 10-2 p.m. and the 24 hour wait period is over 3 business days of 8 hours each, then I was hung up again, and this time I am told my scheduled time is between 12-4 p.m.  no one ever called from the company to confirm any time. When I asked to speak to a manager, well,  there are NO managers around to speak to, because it's a call center.  Had I k own all this, I WOULD HAVE NEVER USED THIS COMPANY!!!

Kevin and Rob from Water Works Plumbing and Heating came out to my house Hackensack, NJ and they were execellent.  I had someone out previously last year for something else and they were execellent as well.  I always get nervous having strangers come to my house but Water Works does a good job with their hires.

THIEVES. Gold Medal is essentially a booking service for second class electricians. They wanted to charge me $120 for a QUOTE. Refused to give me any ballpark estimate on installing a light switch.

I usually don't write reviews but I just had to for this one to save any other first time home owners from wasting time and money. Such scam artists. We own a 2011 new built duplex town house. Our AC wasn't working so we called Water works. A guy came by the same day and we were very happy about that. He said we needed to replace our compressor which would run for about $3,600 and that our water pressure for our home was at a dangerous level of 140 when the normal should be at 75 which may cause flooding if not looked at immediately. Being first time home owners and not knowing anything about these things, we believed him. Then we wanted a second opinion and had the builders recommended HVAC person come by and he said the compressor is weak but no way near being shot and it required a few parts to be replaced. He checked the water pressure and it was no way near what was told by the guy from Water works. At least we ended that relationship at $89.95. Always get a second opinion!!!

As a long time customer of Design Air, I was concerned when their new merger with Gold Medal was announced.  I had always found Design Air to be totally trustworthy and knew they would do whatever it took to rectify any issue, and always at a fair price.

One thing I had them do in the past was flush my water lines when they were making noises due to air accumulating within.  Their cost for this service (which really just entailed connecting a standard water hose to different pipes in the boiler room) was about $125.  I was going to have Gold Medal do it for us again, but fortunately I asked for the price before ordering the service.  Well, it turns out they were having a special; normally flushing the pipes would cost $625, but they offered me a coupon so it would only be $550.  Umm, no.

Made an appointment for tune-up for furnace.  I took a half day off from work.   They call the day before and say they can't make it for 2 weeks because they overbooked.  2 weeks?? Seriously?   Did you overbook 100 people?...lol

Gold Medal- this is a service performed by a countless number of others.  Honor your appointments!!   I'm sorry, but this doesn't even win the bronze medal.

Our HVAC needed replacement and the service was good and efficient.  However, we need a permit for inspection and it has been 2 months.  We have called them numerous times and spoken to several individuals, however, we have received no response..Their permit department is terrible and never responds to any requests.  I even called the township who indicated they were waiting to get paid for the permit and even provided a reference number which I gave to Gold Medal over a month ago.  I am totally disgusted with the run around I receive from them.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM!!

In August of 2011 I purchased a service contract with a plumbing company called  Water Works Plumbing, located in Westwood NJ.  Water Works proved to be an extremely reliable company.  They showed up within the confines of the scheduled four hour window of the appointment...and to the best of my knowledge, never cancelled an appointment.  Then a few years ago, a horrific event occurred, Water Works merged with Gold Medal Plumbing Cooling Heating Electric of Brunswick NJ. What a disaster!!!   Since the time of the merge, my experiences with Gold Medal have been absolutely terrible.  It is very...very seldom that Gold Medal shows up on time during the scheduled agreed upon appointment hours, and it is not at all uncommon for them to run so far behind that they have to cancel the original appointment and look to reschedule.  Today's (5/5/20) incident is what caused me to finally write a review.  I had a scheduled service contract appointment with them to arrive  between the hours of 12P-4P.  I received a call from the operator at 1:54PM advising me that their technician was running late due to a previous job, that the technician would be at my house closer to four. This was no surprise to me...since I'm pretty familiar with their chronic unreliability.  I said, ok. Then at  6:37 (Two hours and thirty-seven minutes past four o'clock...no where near the promised time of four o'clock.) I received a call from Jamie who tells me that the technician won't be making it to my house, am I available any time this week. I advised her to forget it...don't bother scheduling me at all. I can't waste another day waiting for them to perhaps drop by.   This was not the first time that I  had been left out to dry by Gold Medal Plumbing. In the past I had taken days off from work and they fell so far behind that they couldn't make the scheduled service appointment.  Gold Medal has no problem selling a customer a service contract...but they have significant issues with honoring their end of the contract.  I cannot emphasize enough that through several horrendous experiences with this pathetic company that I absolutely do not recommend them at all!!!! I highly suggest that you shop around before ever signing a service contract Gold Medal Plumbing. I have experienced such a huge  lack of concern or empathy for the customer that I am almost speechless when I think about the disastrous experiences I've had with them.  I look forward to the day that my contract with them expires so that I can find a reliable plumbing and heating company.

Gold medal doesn't make money charging you for a basic service call. Gold medal makes money by up selling you something that you probably don't need. Just because you buy into their service contract, it doesn't mean that you are on the priority list to get a prompt service call just when you need it most.

Received a decent heating maintenance service from Waterworks last year.  They then sold me their Maintenance Partnership Plan where I pay monthly fee.  Nearly a year later, I'm still not sure why I'm paying for on monthly bases.  There is no explanation of benefits.  They havent contacted me once during the year.  When I finally submitted request for my AC maintenance online, I got an email instead asking me to call them.  When I called them back, I got a voicemail so left them a message.  Three days later I have yet to get a call back from them.  They have good people that do a good job but for a price.  Their operations however is subpar.  I recommend not getting suckered into purchasing the Maintenance Plan.  Its of no use.

This company is unreliable, unprofessional and do not value their customers.  I had booked an appt for service two weeks out.  The day of the appt, they canceled , stating, due to off and on rain they couldn't come out, but then eventually confirmed they had no techs in my area.  They rescheduled to an undesirable date a week later.  The day of the rescheduled appt, I got a call stating, due to most recent calls they couldn't come out!!!! They did not attempt to accommodate on any level.  If you're looking for good service, I wouldn't recommend them.

Firstly, the chat feature on the website is pointless. I tried to ask a question about one of their promotions, and was asked by the rep if I'd mind answering a series of questions before I got an answer. Turns out the chat representative couldn't have answered my query whether I submitted to his questions or not -- so why waste my time?

We eventually scheduled an appointment (an unnecessarily tedious process) for a plumber to fix our clogged sink. After a few calls from them, they dispatched a guy to our house. Then we get another call that the plumber can't park in front of our house, so they won't be taking the job. I could have told them at the start of this needlessly arduous process that we don't have a parking space in front of our house. We live in what's known as a city, a not-uncommon geographical feature in these parts. If it were such an insurmountable obstacle to getting our drain cleared, why not ask us about parking from the get-go? Nevermind that they rejected my offer to pay for any parking tickets incurred from double-parking in front of our house. (Parking DIRECTLY in front of your house is an ABSOLUTE requirement for service, according to GMS.) Now our drain remains clogged and we're back at square one.

In summary, their prices only look good because there's no way to avail of them.

We invited a Gold Medal salesman into our home to give an estimate on a new A/C. I advised him that he had upgrade our electrical box to accommodate a newer model. The crew came the next day and installed a new A/C but did not have any information about the power issue. An electrician came late in the day and blamed the power company. The power company was able come the next day and they spoke directly to the Gold Medal electrician. Then nothing. They appeared to abandon the job. After some unpleasant phone calls we finally got the electrician to upgrade the box. Then a tech had to come back to program the unit. 5 days of unpleasantness.

They charged us $385 for 36 minutes of work.  After they left, I looked up the repair and the high estimate for it was $170.  I would always look up the average costs before agreeing to any quote.

Sorry I have to post this low review, but they promise and do not deliver. booked a drain cleaning service and it was delayed 3 times and no one called me to provide new ETA. I had to stay close by for day and half for this no-show, no call job. Others may had good experiences but mine was not good.

We found our water boiler leaking during #StormJonas which was the absolute worst timing.  Our water boiler was less than 5 years old and still under warranty.  We also have the partner protection plan.

1.  Day 0: We called Water Works - someone promptly picked up but unfortunately (and as expected) their trucks couldn't make it out in the weather, but they promised to put us on their list if their trucks were able to drive out the next morning.  We had a question about whether the pipes would freeze without the water running through - she was unsure, but called us back within a few minutes with an answer after discussing with her supervisor.  Very much appreciated.
2.  Day 1: As promised, someone arrived the next afternoon to look at the damage and we needed a new water heater.  $1000 for labor - 10% because we had the partner protection plan, so $900 for labor.  + $150 for an upgraded water boiler (ours was still under warranty but they had a newer model that cost more... shrug... how can you argue) that was more efficient, promising an energy bill cut of 50% for its use. Honestly, more expensive for labor than anticipated and from what we researched / knew from others in the area who had the same issue - that's the only reason for the 4 stars.  However, don't be deterred and read on...
3.  Day 2: Mike C. arrived by 10:00 am as they had promised and was really friendly, detail oriented, and considerate.  He placed down cloth tarp on the path down to the water boiler, put on booties going in and out of the house each time, and always thoroughly stamped his feet clean of snow before entering (you would be surprised how many people don't bother to do this.)  He was extremely patient with all of our questions, and always answered them thoughtfully and thoroughly.  At the end of the job, he brought us down to explain to us what he had done and to show us to what to do in the case of another emergency reviewing all the new parts, which way to turn what, etc.  Everything was perfectly cleaned up as if he hadn't been there at all, and all of the new piping and product had been labelled meticulously.  We were very happy with his professionalism, the overall job, and quality of his work.

That being said, again, -1 star for pricing .. as I can see from other reviews that seemed to be a reoccurring them ... and it might not be the same for all of their servicemen HOWEVER Mike C. did a great job and we felt the quality of his work was excellent and it softened the blow of the price.  If it's possible to request him again in the future (knock on wood that we need it), we would certainly do that.

For what it's worth...I did receive a phone call from one of Gold Medal's reps, apologizing for the level of service, and for the inaccurate (I'm being kind here)  evaluation of my furnace.   She also offered to reimburse me the cost of the service call.   So at least someone at Gold Medal is trying to do right; still, I'd be cautious about assuming that  her attempt to correct  these problems is actually getting to the technicians in the field.

I recently had Gold Medal do a service call with the maintenance plan I had purchased and it was a very good decision.  We had purchased the plan last year after a motor failed in our unit which was covered by Gold Medal.  Gold Medal came out and fixed the issue and replaced the motor without cost.  The time frame would be my only small issue I had.  I have seen the other negative comments and that has not been my experience this far.

Gold Medal Service gets 5 stars from our family! We had an electrical issue and did not get any call backs from the local electricians I contacted. So frustrating! I had been seeing the Gold Medal service vans all over and looked up reviews which were awesome! Called them and was able to schedule service for convenient time for me.
Technician, Juan Otoya arrived on time, so courteous and professional! Listened as I explained what was happening. He tested outlets, explained what he was doing and why. Found the issue and then explained the costs involved. Problem solved, fixed. Happy customer!
Highly recommend Gold Medal Service and technician Juan Otoya

Called and came very quickly on a holiday weekend. $89 service charge and $15 travel fee. Fine. Tech gets to my house and stands in front of heating unit- doesn't touch it at all and announces, It needs to be replaced. I was puzzled at first because the unit is 16 years old and the sensor lights were blinking. I asked how much for replacement of heating unit-$10-12k. I then asked the tech to please check the sensor and he did- and said it's not working.  Cleaned the dust from sensor unit and heat turned on. Also used a boot scope (sp?) camera which magnifies the internal system and told me the unit is rusted through. The pictures that were provided and my visual inspection did not support this assessment. Received another estimate for sensor replacement and blower motor replacement- close to $900. This service charge for diagnostic and work costed me $260. A quick google search- sensors $27. And a brand new system exactly as I have is $3000. Interesting in that the heating system was considered too old. (16 years old). My other homes have similar heating systems that are 57 years old, 14 years old, and 75 years old.  Very polite technician but questionable tactics. Also wanted to sell me a maintenance service plan on a new system or the existing system that according to the technician , needed replacement. Be weary and know what you need before calling or you will pay. Or better yet, get a second opinion if possible. 2 stars because technician was punctual and very polite.

I should have checked Yelp before I spent over $5,000 on a water softening and reverse osmosis system from Gold Medal Waterworks.

I have had the worst experiences with them and will never use them again. I've had ongoing issues with their installs that are still unresolved. It's a shame because some of their employees are personable but some are terrible and rude.

Whatever you do don't get their water softener system. They exclusively use a brand called Novo from Canada and it is terrible. My water simply does not stay soft long. It gets hard very quickly.

I've spent maybe 20 hours over the phone with them over 40 calls trying to fix issues inherent in the water softener and even their most expert reps don't understand how their machines work. I can't tell you the number of times they recanted previous things they told me about how this of that setting works and later told me something totally different.

I've changed so many settings per their instructions and changed them back again over and over. So many times they've called me and said, I think I figured it out! Try this setting...etc and it didn't work.

The product is simply unreliable. Most homeowners have no idea, but I do because I have professional testing equipment and can see how quickly water hardens.

To be fair to gold medal, I don't believe gold medal is complicit in Novo's terrible product roll out. It seems to me that novo doesn't know how their product works and misrepresented themselves when they sold it to Gold medal. Gold medal has to follow the guidelines Novo has set, which are wrong.

It seems to me the Canadian company selling Novo softeners (Canature) bought out the company Novo and took its products under its wings without knowing how they work exactly. Somewhere, there is a huge mess up.

It's a shame because the hardware looks great and probably is, but no one, not even the senior lead engineer of Gold Medal or of Canature and Novo know how all the settings work. And there are many settings.

We have been a Customer of Design Air for many years and we were very happy with their product and service. However since they have been taken over by Gold Medal Service the customer service has been abysmal.
Luckily some of the technicians have been retained by the new company but scheduling and pricing have been terrible. We have had our generator servicing canceled 3 times at the last minute and i was disconnected when I was transferred to the concern department. I still don't have an appointment. We still have warranties with this company so we are stuck with them but I would not recommend them.

I was happy to receive a follow up from Gold Medal to my concerns and received additional customer service which showed me they care about their customer service so I am upgrading my one star negative review to a good customer service experience. I also kept my original two year service agreement in place even though they refunded a portion of the amount I was charged. I will try them again.

False advertising. I'm having a emergency at my home and I contact you because your website says you service Rockland County. I live in Sloatsburg which is in Rockland County yet you will not come to me. Your website says: BERGEN, PASSAIC, & ROCKLAND COUNTY'S EXPERT PLUMBERS. A few days later, the owner replied to my review on FB saying the customer service rep made a mistake in telling me they did not service the town I live in. I do not believe this to be true. I stated several times that Sloatsburg is in Rockland County and she still refused me service. When I asked her about the information stated on the website, she acknowledged that the site says they service all of Rockland except Sloatsburg and Tuxedo. His attempt to lie to cover up for the terrible customer service made the situation even worse.

DO NOT USE THEM....Had an emergency situation, they came out, wrote out 2 estimates, decided  to go with the LOWER one, did the job, had an issue the very next day, called and they were giving me a hard time about coming out and charging me, and i paid for a priority contract,  so I had another plumber come out and saw there were things on my bill that were never installed, which made me wonder about the whole installation.....and now need this plumber to inspect what was actually done.

We had a contract with Water Works, they were wonderful.  But alas they were bought out by the Gold Diggers.  We had a Navien combo installed.  We have never been happy with this unit! It leaked and  as we called to complain, they sent repairmen, who when they  saw the unit and their jaw literally dropped!  They had never seen one of these units and were not certified by Navien to work on them.  So Gold Diggers lost our faith.   When the unit was inspected by our town, the inspected said.. wow, you got a good unit must have cost about ###  we said no, #### our price was $3,000 over what the inspector thought.  When it was installed we were told that a water softener was needed.  Ha, that was not part of the  $xx,000 plus we paid.  So no water softener was included in that price.  Now almost 3 years later, we are still not happy with them,, so they send another SALESMAN.  He changes the pressure coming into the house so yes, we have better water pressure but one of our main complaints is that while showering, washing dishes,, the hot water will cut out,, then come back a minute or so later.  Really fun.  I shower with my hand on the water control.  So he again said we needed a new drain under our kitchen sink, a new faucet in our upstairs bathroom and a new sink in the downstairs bathroom.. and of course the ever needed water softener.  So let's address our water hardness/softness.. I had ours tested,  we are NOT HARD water.  He quoted us $8,000 for that work.  So approx. $4,000 for a drain pipe, small vanity and sink, new faucet, which we have now done for $700.00  $4,000 was what he quoted for that work.  IS that a rip off or what.  Please people use local small company,, this company is only out for their money.  As I said,, Gold DIGGERS!!  I wanted to leave no star,, but that does not seem possible.. they are horrid .. RUN!!!

terrible company, call as absolute last resort. Maintenance contract is a total con designed to get you to pay them for the service of coming to your house and finding work... and then use your trust as a way to charge above market prices. We gave this company several second chances from simple things like leaky faucet to more advanced things like low pressure in boiler and a few things in between and every time they proved to be difficult to deal with and sketchy at every step of the process. There are a lot of companies in the area that perform these services, keep looking and run far away from Water Works.

We have been with Gold Medal for the past year as a part of the VIP membership...as they say membership has its rewards. Their technicians are knowledgeable and can service electric, HVAC, and plumbing needs. Unfortunately, we use them often and they are prompt and responsive to your requests. We were even able to request the same plumber because he started to get to know the inner workings of the house.
Now, granted they may cost you some dollars, but their assessments have been spot on and the work is worth it. If you believe, like me, in doing it right the first time, then Gold Medal is the service for you.

Our boiler suddenly went out so I called this company.
Tech came out this past Friday,  and without checking hardly at all, said the fan had to be replaced. He said he had to order parts so maybe he could come the next day (Sat) with parts.
He gave me an estimate of $1195 with $100 discount because I have been paying $21.35 every month for a MAINTENANCE PARTNER PLAN more than 10 years.   This is separate from the insurance plan that PSEG or other companies offer.  I figured parts really needed to be replaced so I said okay, I figured this was a major complicated issue that the boiler was fried.

The next day, a different tech came.  He was down looking at the boiler a maximum of 40min, and then said he was finished, that parts DIDN'T need to be replaced.  His explanation was that a mouse was sucked in through the vent and stopped the fan from working.  The charge was $423.95 including tax, and would not allow a company coupon because it's already been discounted

Before he leaves I ask him what did you do with the dead mouse?  He can't give me a straight answer.  I am not sure mouse story is true or not, but is this supposed to cost more than $400 for such a short time and  only labor??  I wonder why I have been using this company
more than quarter of century!!!  This company always very very expensive. I have to find other company.

Had a leak in my bathtub pipe going to the basement. After calling several other plumbers and they were too busy to come out, I  found Water Works with good reviews.  They  were prompt and repaired the problem satisfactorily.  Mike was a nice guy and very professional. He even noticed My toddler grandson crawling on the floor and put on shoe covers before entering the house.  He was paying attention, that's great customer service.

I would recommend them.

Called the company for service on a badly clogged kitchen sink. Covers Bergen and Rockland Counties, most jobs at $99, great so far. Then found out that since there was a garbage disposal/grinder unit that it would be slightly more. Then after the service man came I was told that since we had tried using a drain cleaner to remove the backup it would cost $300. Then he claimed to need a longer snake in spite of me telling him that it was less than 35 feet of pipe to the main line. More cost.

Finally after hours of trying to clear the clog with help of another serviceman I was told they needed to bring in a big truck to jet out the clog. Was shocked with this turn of events and the cost it would be (and that it was the going rate). Was stuck over a barrel at this point and consented since I needed my kitchen sink back in service.

Final bill was $1950. And then they had the gall to write that there would be no warranty on the work, as my piping supposedly was not pitched per code (measured it to be 1/4 per foot which is code compliant). Totally ripped off and burnt to hell by these guys.

This review is about Gold Medal Services from Cotters Lane in East Brunswick NJ. The technician was Louie and his supervisor was Eric. They came to fix a major problem with drain in basement which was clogged. Snaked it and got the city DPW of Clifton involved to help fix the problem of a  clogged sewer line, Louie and Eric did not leave untill the problem was completely resolved. Definitely recommend them again and will use them again. 5 Star rating.

Sal Cutrona is a real professional. He was extremely thorough and took his time to explain everything he was inspecting and answered any questions I had. He literally solved all my plumbing problems and did so in record timing. Sal and Charles did an amazing job together and always cleaned up after themselves leaving their work area immaculate when finished with the job. I've already referred Gold Medal to family and friends because of the craftsmanship, work ethic, and speedy service. Gold Medal truly raised the bar with their level of service. Now they have a customer for life!!

I had used Gold Medal Service before so I called them when I had leak coming from one of my radiators. The technician arrived when scheduled and conducted an inspection of the problem. He indicated he would provide me with two prices, one if I had a membership with Gold Medal and a second if I decided not to purchase the membership. I explained twice I was not interested  in a membership and just wanted the price to repair the problem. Despite my request he provided me with both prices. The price seemed high so I paid for the estimate/dispatch fee which was reasonable. I was able to find another plumber to perform the work for a much lower, reasonable cost. The technician was professional but all business.

Completely Unprofessional -Do Not Use!!!
I just purchased a new home and was interested in a ductless mini split system and contacted Costco for a quote.  I was passed along to Gold Medal Service as the provider and installer.  A sales rep came out for an inspection and was very knowledgeable and professional.  A very competitive quote was provided for a top of the line system, close to 20k.  Contract was signed and I was given an install date.
Here's where they earn their less than one star.  On installation date I sent the sales rep a txt to confirm the agreed 8/9 AM start time.  He responded with yes, they will be there shortly.  10 AM, no installers and a txt and call was placed, again I'm told they are on the way.  At 11 AM, still no installers and the sales rep is not answering his phone or txts.  At 1 PM it's apparent they will not be coming that day.  I then called the main office and Costco and finally receive an answer that due to zoning issues they will not be able to install it...  This is after we had a signed contract, and I had scheduled 2 days off from work.  This is completely unprofessional.  Do not use this company for anything!  No follow up call was received from Gold Medal Management.  Guess they don't care for new customers.  Stay away from Costco home services as well.

Be aware...last year I scheduled an appointment for 11/28, when I spoke to customer service they said the technician would come out with all the equipment necessary to make sure the job was done that day (I was relieved bc it was my day off). The next day, the technician shows up and determines I need new equipment, he then says he doesn't have the necessary equipment and that he needs to come the next day. He talks me into buying their Gold Medal Membership as it would help with any discounts and future appointments for up-to a year (end up spending around $250+). I work the next day, so now I have to ask my boss to take the day off, I can't take it off, so the most they can do is let me leave a little early, technician was scheduled to arrive around 1pm, he doesn't arrive until 2ish. I then assist the technician in any way possible to speed things up (help him carry equipment, remove door to allow more working space, etc), technician doesn't finish until 8-9pm! I ending up spending over around $2k on a gas water heater w/ a 10 year warranty, both the $250+ and $2k were put on a Amex and then a credit line. Since that visit, I've been receiving emails containing statements that are addressed to another unit in my complex under a different name, somehow I'm receiving it. I called them and they said they would fix it, I continued to receive these emails from the Gold Medal. Fast forward to yesterday (7/23/23) I scheduled an appointment for a leaky faucet and I confirm that a technician would be coming today (12-4pm), since I was a member they would NOT charge me the $85 dispatch fee. I then receive a call from the technician saying that they could NOT find any record of me or my membership, hours later I get another call from a manager of some sorts and states the same thing, the technicians visit would have to be placed on hold since they have to investigate the issue. The statement had an invoice date of 9/2022 and my service with them was on 11/2022, I explained this to them and they were confused, but the service was still be put on hold. Here I am waiting like an idiot since 11am and it's now 7 and I didn't receive a call back for an update or anything, I called the manager and it went to voicemail. Now I have to spend more money on another plumber to come out. Be careful and make sure if you go with them, get copies of EVERYTHING! I spent over $250+ for that membership all for it to go to waste. Thanks Gold Medal! Appreciate the wonderful customer support! Great job!

My minisplit was making a hissing noise and was blowing warm air. I get referred to this company so I decide to try them out. I have to say maybe the company is good but the service technician Lazaro which came out to my house was absolutely clueless and unprofessional. He's at my home 2 minutes when he begins to bad mouth the company of which my minisplit is connected to. Just about 5 mins into the conversation and the trash talking without even looking at the unit he saids it's the compressor. I asked him how do you know this? He's reply is because he knows. He starts trying to sell me a unit asking me he can put me in touch with the company. I tell him ok and thank you. My wife turns the unit on when he is about to walk to his truck and notices the compressor is on. He now begins to say the compressor is working and it might be another part. He tells me it will be $300 and change for him to open it up. At this point I just wanted him to leave. ( i would have paid the cost)He then sits in his truck for just about another 20 mins. Maybe telling his boss he was doing some work. Well to my surprise which it wasn't really a surprise another company came out to service the unit today and all it needed was a re-charge and at half the price. Overall very disappointed... 3 things I got out this- the tech he didn't know what he was doing, didn't want to work or was up selling to make himself look good. Again, I won't bad mouth the company and I won't assume that Gold Medal operates like this but unfortunately makes Gold Medal look bad and because of it scratch this company of my list. Use at your own risk.

After 20 Phone calls over the past 13 days, roughly 4 no shows to appointments, roughly 5 that showed up past the scheduled appointment time, technicians who arrived with attitudes or left not knowing how to fix or unable to fix, and several nights with either no heat, no water or in the new plumbing issue; we still have trouble getting any accountability for the failures and lack of true business guarantees.  While I may have a warranty on the $10,000 install job from a few years back, it doesn't give you/Gold Medal Service the right to perform less than what is expected and what is sold in your sales pitches. I have asked to speak with management roughly 10 times in phone calls, and while Jeff from the plumbing reached out and another lady from the Customer Relations side, what was the follow up or end result?  This all started from a single leaking pipe, and here we are 10 days later still Having issues and technicians not arriving as promised. I gave you 5 stars for the 2 install jobs on the $20,000 I spent but I give you 1 star for the follow thru when there is an issue and we need help with warranty work.  I once heard, you fix it right the first time you never have to deal with the customer again. You don't fix it, and this is the end result; me calling 20 times asking for followup, follow thru, or status checks on what's happening.  Feel free to call me because I would love to go over these recorded calls and what's being promised over what the end result is.  I am blown away at the incompetence of this business despite all the work that went into actually replacing the original HVAC system. Their management is a failure and their customer service manager (Sandy) cannot keep it together. In the end, this company is not worth the risk for warranty work they say they have a promise to maintain or repair.  Don't fall into their trap.

Very disappointed. They had done good work for me before, but on this particular day they decided to do someone else's job, and inform me half way through the day. Too bad I had scheduled the time far in advance and took a day off from work to see them. Another customer needed them, so I had to waste my day. I asked for a credit for the inconvenience, but they weren't interested, even though I had agreed to a ridiculously high quote. Turned a happy customer into an angry one. Waste of time.

I have no idea how this company got good review from home advisor? This company is not responsible with high charge. In order for you to get discount, you have to sign in for their membership. They offered you a annual plumbing check, but they did not do the work at all. They showed up not for inspection, but for any potential problem. So be very careful about their free bait- member discount or annual inspection. Also when they do the work, jut check with them to make sure that they did the right way, because they want to mess up for next time business.

Gold Medal Service is who you want to call when you are counting on reliable service and a job done right. They take their time evaluating your situation whether it be HVAC Plumbing or Electric. They explain your and offer a warranty. They never give you a rush job. They show up when they say they will. They are available 24/7 everyday including holidays. They are not the least expensive option but they are the highest in quality and professionalism. Two years ago I got from them a new 2 zone HVAC system and just recently I converted to a tankless water heater and I added a whole house water softener. I'm considering for the future a whole house standby generator.

These are big ticket items that need to be done correctly with Gold Medal I know I'm getting the best in the business. They also offer financing.

Gold Medal is highly overpriced. If you don't know what you are looking for, you will be swindled out of a lot of your hard-earned money. We recently got a water heater installed from Gold Medal because our previous unit cracked. Gold Medal sold me a replacement unit for $3200. After the installation, my technician discovered a gas leak that he tried to locate and repair. The next day he returned to finish the job and charged us another $500 to run a pressure test. He finally suggested we call Orange and Rockland, and once they came out they informed us that with a gas leak, they should have been called immediately, and they run pressure tests for Free! We then called another plumber to fix the gas leak, and he informed us there is no way a pressure test should be that much and that I probably overpaid by $900 for the water heater.
All in all, we loved our technician for the work he did. He was a pleasure to work with, but the Gold Medal prices are crazy. Not to mention they had to know Orange & Rockland would run a pressure test for free but didn't suggest we call them until after they got paid. It sucks that we wasted money on their total care club because we will never let Gold Medal do any more work for us.

I had an appointment with Gold medal service to fix my drain stopper on my tub.  The plumber named Sal came out and spent 2 minutes looking for parking outside my door.  There is ample parking one block away but he said it was too far for him to walk and then he quit.  If it's company policy not to park one block away that's a pretty bad policy.

Is completely overpriced. They lure you in with what sounds like a good deal and then make up something that causes the price to skyrocket. The guy that came to fix our sink had no idea what he was talking about and managed to rip us off and then go pack on his promise of a warranty for services rendered. Do not use these guys unless you have money to flush down the drain (pun intended)

This is for Water Works a company that apparently is part of Gold Medal. They installed a new indirect water heater and sold me in top of the line, this will last you at least 10-15 years. Well just over five years it fails, they come and tell me has to be replaced because this model is junk and they won't even sell it anymore as it has caused multiple customers problems. I'm not happy.. to say the least! Costs me $$$$$$. Their response was basically tough luck. They don't finish the electrical part if the install and said they'd be back within a week. Well now probably two MONTHS later, no in has come back. I call because this new amazing heater they now use and sold me can't even produce enough hit water to fill one bath tub of water. Was told should not run out of hot water with this new system. I call. The call center sends me to dispatch to schedule since it was related to an install. Dispatch looks at my address pits me on hold and apparently sends me back to the first person. The first person apologizes profusely (she really tried to help me) and says I guess she doesn't want to bother taking the time to scheduling you since it's a Saturday nite. Not to schedule a person to come immediately, just to schedule me for their next available appointment during the week! For perspective, I have used them for an ac compressor replacement, now two water heaters, an RO system, a while house filter and water softener  and a full ac replacement. The ac replacement just  this past month.  Buyer beware. Don't trust anything you are told. I learned my lesson too late.

Gold Metal/Water Works did a repair in my laundry room November of 2017. I can't say they did an inadequate job. The technician was courteous and the job was satisfactory. My problem with this business is the service partner plan. It is really nothing more than a bad insurance deal, which takes advantage of customers. They charge you $25 per month, and you are supposed to be entitled to a waived service call fee, Saturday and Sunday service, annual home inspection, etc.  If I am going to pay any company $25 per month, I expect something in return. That something, in this case, would be an annual follow up phone call to check in on me. And perhaps schedule my annual inspection that I'm supposedly entitled to. That's a pretty easy way to earn $25 per month.  I didn't hear a word throughout 2018. This month, February 2019, I cancelled my credit card that was being utilized for the monthly payment. It only took four days before I got a phone call from a representative of the company to give out a new credit card.  This tells me the company is capable of following up only when it's for their benefit. This is really off putting, and very bad customer service. Again, not telling anyone Water Works can't get the job done. But DON'T fall for their maintenance partner plan. I spent nearly $300 dollars on this program to date, since November of 2017, and got absolutely nothing for it. I called back the lady who left me a message, and told her I wouldn't be renewing. I was very polite, since it wasn't necessarily her fault. However, she didn't even bother asking me why I wanted to cancel the plan.

Excellent service and knowledgeable technicians. I have used Gold Medal for several years now. It is easy to schedule an appt and I appreciate the email confirmation including the picture of the technician who will be arriving.  Technicians are clean, friendly and treat my house with respect. All the work I've had done was done correct and in a timely manner. I had one instance where worked needed to be corrected from a prior job and I was given a credit to my account for the incorrectly installed part. I highly recommend Gold Medal services.

I asked for a quote on replacing a  Kohler Cimarron toilet. first he quoted $1800.00 approx. and then $1500.00.  When I did a little research I found the price for the toilet was $300.00 and you could get it on sale for $250.00.  I thenlooked up the average price for changing out a toilet and saw that it ranged from $300.00 to $500.00.  When I questioned his price he refused to answer and left.  Think about this before you call these people.

Water Works in Westwood, NJ. installed a new central air condenser (R-22) for us in May 2015 at a cost of $3,200.  We were foolish not to get some other estimates, but they came up quickly and we were desperate to get it fixed. Well, 16 months later the condenser broke down!  We called Water Works. The tech said this unit should not have been installed and he couldn't get parts or replace it.  He also showed us a directive from the Dept of Energy phasing out the R-22 refrigerant by 2020. He offered us $2,000 off the price of an $8,000 central air/ furnace system.  We were very leery of any further offers from this company.  When we asked for a refund, the company sent another Water Works tech to evaluate the situation. He contradicted the first tech and said the condenser could be replaced. He said the ruling on the R-22 was just a political move!  He offered us all kinds of deals, yet there were no options given or explanations of the products or services. He basically begged us to stay with Water Works.  When I refused, he was most unethical trying to get my husband to disagree with me!

Obviously, we are very upset losing all this money. The R-22 unit they installed in 2015 was a cheap one as well as a unit being phased out by 2020. We were never told that at the time of installation.  The company was obviously trying to unload these units before 2020.  We have lost confidence in Water Works and would never trust them again.  We wanted a refund, but they refused.  Under these circumstances, a reputable company would have offered even a partial refund. We will never see our money again, but we can only hope that this review will keep others from making the same mistake we did in hiring this company.

I have been a long time customer of Gold Medal and have nothing but good things to say about all of their heating and plumbing technicians. However, their customer service is awful. I've always had a service contract that waived the dispatch fee. I called to have a plumber come to install a new kitchen faucet to replace one that they had installed. I was told there would be an$85 dispatch fee plus $15 to assess the job. When I questioned the dispatch fee because I pay $300 and something a year for a service contract, I was told the policy had changed. I go back with this company since  it was waterworks. If this is how they treat loyal customers, I want no part of them.

I am not sure if there was a desire to find a solution or prove a need to replace everything. It was hot, the mechanic spent 20 minutes looking at AHU in the attic, it was 130F. Then he came down to outside air conditioner. I followed him 5 minutes later. Unit cover was already open. He got the fan in the air conditioner to work after changing the fuse. And then checked capacitor and found no problem with it. Then removed rubber hood to see the compressor leads and said these are broken, he almost expected it because he broke these while I wasn't there or were truly broken. I couldn't say anything. He concluded that both AHU and compressor need to be replaced and he can have a rep come and give me estimate likely to be in the range of &9k to 16k.

Can't really tell you if they know the job.  Apparently they hired the only germaphobe sewer cleaner in the country. I had a main sewer line back up in my cellar.  This has happened before due to roots in the pipe so I knew the drill. I cleaned the work area, but the floor leading to it was still wet.  Though boots and rubber gloves are standard protocol, the tech who showed refused to work the job because of the still damp floor leading to it, which was the only way to the entrance that could fit their equipment. He whined a bit more, then left.  I called another service who did the job in about 20 minutes ( rotoboring through the line).  How can you be a germaphobe and work in the sewer service industry? I then called them back and said that I was finishing with the wet-vac and when could I re-schedule? They hung up on me twice after long holds. I got the feeling that the germaphobe was their only tech.  The only reason they got even one star was because Yelp won't allow no stars.  A worthless waste of time. If you call them you may lose a day before someone else can come.  PASS!

We had a boiler that needed replacing.  We wanted to replace it and revamp our system with a new system that would not need a boiler and furnace.  Water Works set up a new water heater combo unit, which free up space in our furnace room and they can make minor adjustments to it as needed.  It was all hands off for us - they sent Dan, an HVAC expert (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) on their team to us and he walked us through how everything works and really gave us a white glove experience.  We didn't have to lift a finger and are very happy with the results of this new water heating system in our house.  I'll upload a photo so you can see the results.  A+

Over the past 9 years we've had everything from our water line replaced to small jobs like toilet repair, and pipes snaked out.  While not cheap, they have always been reliable, thorough, neat and accommodating.  Our only complaint is a new kitchen sink  installed about 2.5 years ago.  We only needed a faucet, but the porcelin sink was very old and worn so we decided to replace it as well.  The options offered included a fiberglass choice to keep the cost down a bit.  We were cautioned that it had a beveled edge but decided to go with it because the plumber said he'd installed one at his home.  I was not home when the work was done and came home to find that instead of plumber's putty for a clean seamless finish on our formica counter tops, the tech caulked it in.  It looked very unprofessional.   But the problem that actually prompted me to post this review is performance of the sink finish.  After about a year it seemed to be impossible to keep clean/white.  My husband was constantly complaining to me, suggesting I wasn't keeping it clean, but it simply would not stay white.   Before choosing the fiberglass sink we had asked about maintenance and were instructed to just clean it with a sponge and dish soap-no abrasives-and we followed that course.   After I had cataract surgery I was able to see that the sink wasn't actually dirty, the finish was crumbling and dulled.  It almost looked  paper mache like in the patterns that were appearing . I contacted Water Works several months ago and they were very prompt in having a supervisor call me back.  He informed me that the tech said we wanted to save money so we went with a sink that only had a 1 year warranty.

This relatively new Thermocast sink looks about 20 times worse than the 30+ year old sink it replaced.  We emailed Thermocast---no reply at all.

While WaterWorks didn't manufacture the sink,,,they recommended it and when it failed miserably, it was, oh well, that's too bad, warranty's up!

Gold Medal sent Mike Elbaz to evaluate my furnace problem. Another company told me I needed a whole new furnace which would've been a tremendous expense. Mike looked over the unit thoroughly and determined that I only needed a few parts. I'm going with Gold Medal from now on, specifically requesting Mike. Highly recommend!

The service was provided the same day I called. The service man arrived earlier than time range given, but called 45 minutes before arrival. Frank worked cleanly and thoroughly and resolved our heating issue. We were very pleased with the service provided.

From start to finish, Waterworks took care of everything on our boiler replacement project. From getting to our house on time to start the job to removing our old boiler and installing the new one and also getting the permits filed with the township. All provided by Waterworks and pricing was reasonable given other quotes we saw.

Thanks Waterworks team.

Called Waterworks to come and help us unclog our kitchen sink.  Within a couple hours we had Nathan P. arrive and what a pleasant experience.  His bedside manner was on point- made quick friends with my toddler, gave us a quick run down of our plumbing situation, and got to work.  His knowledge and enthusiasm for his work AND the company he represents spoke volumes as to the quality of this business.  Will definitely be calling Waterworks the next time we need a plumber, and we will surely be requesting Nathan.

I paid for a whole-home plumbing inspection, which had a detailed list
of inclusions. The first plumber didn't show up. The second came and
only did about 1/4 of the list, gave me a $675 estimate to clean my
furnace, and didn't notice a badly leaking washer hose. The third came
and did see the washer hose, and correctly told me that a furnace
cleaning is under $100. However, one thing on the list was check
visible gas lines for leaks. Turns out we had a gas leak, and the
plumber didn't notice. I asked why, and they said we only do a visible
inspection for gas leaks. Excuse me? How can you SEE A NATURAL GAS
LEAK? For a full week, I went to bed in confidence that my
plumbing/heating was safe, and meanwhile natural gas was leaking (thank
God into a closed closet). They did come back relatively promptly when I
informed them of the leak--after O&R shut off my meter--and plumber
#4 gave me an estimate of $1500 to fix the leak, plus he would need to
rip out my living room ceiling (and I could fix it myself at my own
expense). He also gave me a long list of other gas repairs that just had
to be done, at extra cost, or O&R would never turn the gas back
on, even though the other 2 plumbers from his own company had inspected and approved my gas system. I quickly called another company, who came and fixed the gasleak in 3 hours, at a cost of $550, without touching the ceiling. And
without doing any of those other absolutely necessary expensive
replacements. And O&R not only turned my gas on, they complimented
the plumber who did the work! Water Works is a total ripoff in terms of
price, has no quality control, and is constantly full of excuses for the
errors and inconsistencies between their employees--but never an
apology, even after letting my toddlers inhale natural gas for a week
because they only visually check for gas leaks. Use at your own
risk--you do not know what plumber you will get, whether the repairs
they recommend are necessary or not, and I can guarantee that their
prices are three times the competition.

I signed up for an annual contract last year for routine maintenance on a new home. We spend the winter in Florida and I called to make a summer using appt in April 2023. The earliest appt was July 19!  I said are you kidding me, the summer is half over by then. They said sorry sir. I should have been told at my winterizing service how far in advance to make an appt. Needless to say, if I don't get a much earlier appt they won't see me again. Terrible customer service

As a first time home owner, using Gold Medal was the worst decision I made.  We had them do our bathroom in 2019.  We decided to go with them because they promise a life time warranty. We recently discoved a crack on our shower floor.  We contacted Gold Metal and set up an appointment for them to come and assess.  They never showed up at the scheduled time.  I had to call to get an ETA and then was rescheduled.  A service man showed up took pictures and said someone will reach out with a plan.  They never did.  I contacted then and they sent another service man to take measurements.  Yet again we were told someone would reach out to let us know of the next steps.  No one called.   We have been doing this back and forth thing for 2 months and still no resolution.  DO NOT USE GOLD MEDAL. They are overpriced and don't follow through.

Called on thursday to have a faucet replaced, was told they could not come till Monday. Ok on Monday after changing my schedule they said due to people calling out they can not come. Ok Now it is Tuesday we bought the new faucet and all the guy had to do was replace the the faucet that was there. Not knowing if this was a big job or not Nathan said 300.00$....No clue I said sure no problem...It took 10 min...My husband came home and said that was a major rip off...We will never use this company.Very sad that people take advantage of working class people.I have no one to blame except myself for not checking before I agreed...The most this job should have been was $150.00...

Thursday afternoon 2:30-3pm, the a/c fan stops working. 3:30pm called and they said same day between 4-8pm. Text and email confirmation. 3:45pm get a phone call that the tech will be here In15 minutes! Technician shows up in 15 minutes and by 4:30pm fixes the problem. Needed a new solinode or something. $350.00 with including the $50.00 off. Only additional question is do I want a service contact to which I declined. Sent receipt with pictures. The service was quick, the diagnosis was spot on, and the problem was quickly resolved. I don't think you could ask for better than that. I am not from San Francisco, I am from Bergen county New Jersey.

Update* A technician was sent out and spent more than four hours re-doing / un-doing the initial faulty installation . Too soon to tell if he was successful because it took days after the install before drainage issues became apparent when water started pouring through the ceiling. I was promised that all damage will be repaired and am scheduled  for a visit from a contractor next Friday. That was the earliest appointment available. I tried to contact their customer service department but no one is available. Charlie H --- I welcome giving you all the information you need in order to expedite resolution to this. DM at your earliest convenience.

Very disappointed.  Scheduled an estimate for a water heater, when the tech arrived (earlier than scheduled time slot) I learned this had been scheduled as a service call, therefore $95 charge.  Estimates were twice what other companies had quoted.  Also, tech tried to sell me a sediment filter for $1200 which is available at Home Depot for $120 - wow, 10x!!!  Never again for Gold Medal.

Please do not use this company.  The moment the technician showed up i felt that he was swindling me.  Before he even looked at the job her kept coming in telling me some huge price.  I also was told he was not coming back unless I bought a membership of 299.  When he came back it was very clear he didn't want to do the job and kept telling me he was going to just leave me In my 90 degree house. Every 20 minutes he came back with an I pad with an enormous price and wanted me to sign and give him a credit card.  500 plus.  1300 plus. Since my husband was not around he kept telling me he was leaving unless I paid these exorbitant prices.  I was so desperate for help.   I never want anyone to ho through what I did.

My 20-plus year old A/C system was found to be mold encrusted on my inspection from Michael Elbaz at Gold Medal this year.  I knew that it was time to replace it. Michael arranged a same day quote from John Servez at Gold Medal and I scheduled a next-day installation.

Today, Gold Medal sent an inside and an outside crew and finished the entire job in a few hours. Replacement unit is top-end Lennox and the energy efficiency will earn me a rebate from PSE&G as well as make my monthly electric bill a bit lower.

The install team was top-notch and respected my home with drop cloths and shoe covers. Special thanks today to Andrew and Cody for a job well done.

Run away from these guys as quickly as you can, don't be fooled by their Gold Medal Service. As a Costco member, I thought I was going to get a real competitive price from them. But they sang and danced for well over 45 minutes and refused going straight to the point. After that ordeal, they took video of my attic, measured and documented my old existing HVAC. Why all this effort if it was just for a quick quote for a replacement? All other services I called, were able to do a quick visual evaluation in 10 minutes and email a quote the next day. Is Gold Medal Service just a referral and passing actual installation job to someone else? From reading all of the reviews, it confirmed my hunch. Lots of complaints with them, and maybe that is why it is so difficult for them to come back to fix installation issues.

Be aware, they will ask a lot of personal questions that have absolutely nothing to do with HVAC. The salesman was super defensive when I asked why I needed to answer all the personal questions just to get a quote, he just kept saying it is their process. I felt like I was at a car dealership. Each step was super uncomfortable, I felt like he was trying to figure out what was the most money they could get out of me. He asked if I had a mortgage, number of people living in the house, what college my kids attend, etc. Then he wanted to know how many quotes I already had and wanted to see them. He also wanted to measure all the rooms in my house. All those steps just seemed so unnecessary and had nothing to do with swapping and replacing my existing HVAC unit. He even tried to tell me my old blower and condenser were mismatched, what total BS. My old unit worked well for over 20 years with no issues, until it started leaking R22. When I had it with his shenanigans and wanted him to leave, he finally started to tell me their price. He wanted $17k. Way above any other quotes. Then he slowly lowered $2k at a time trying to get my business, since I refused to show him any of my quotes. Even his lowest price was way more then a Carrier replacement I ended up getting with another more professional company.

The only way Gold Medal Service can make a profit is to sucker someone with their fake service. Make you believe they are thorough, but actually conning you and subcontracting the job.

If I was able to give this Company a negative zero I would!
Where do I start - First I called because the thermostat for my AC was reading Change filter and I change the filter, then it said contact tech my regular tech who service the system was on vacation so I contacted Gold Medal.  The first very young man who showed up as soon as I explain the problem he said it would cost $438 to fix.  I said go ahead, he didn't even know how to turn on the unit I turned it on for him.  In exactly 7 minutes he say everything is good I paid him and he left.  About and hour plus I had water leaking from my attic
I called them back and was told no one is available until next day.  After I insisted they sent someone else. The second guy said my fan was bad and he recommended a new one which he said would cost about $1400 and since it's Friday he can have it to me by Monday.  He called me on Monday morning and stated he gave me a wrong estimate for the fan, it's $3500.00 and he recommended a new unit.  On that Monday they send 2 guys to my home and gave me an estimate for a new unit of $16000 plus and told me it will be installed in one day.  I decided to call my regular tech who stated he would be back on Wednesday, my regular tech came and fixed the problem for $250.00
Anthony Settecase lied to me and almost made me spend over $16000 for a unit I didn't need.  When I reach out to him he told me a manager from the company will contact me.  A manager called me and told me they fired the first Tech who came to my house because he over charged me.  I had to fight them back and forth on the phone for my money.
We need to find an attorney that will take our cases and we need to get justice for what this company are doing to so many people.  My elderly mother lives with me and due to this company none trained employees water leek through my ceiling and unto her bed while she sleep.  This was a nightmare for my family.  It cost me so much money to fix my ceiling that was damage because they created a problem from lack of knowledge with the unit.  The Tech was not familiar with the unit and did not have a clue.  I can't imagine what elderly people must be going through with this company.
They should not be in business at all, If you live in the Woodbridge NJ area do not call this company for anything.  I wish I had look at the reviews before I called them.  Please stay clear of this company, if you use them you would end up paying them and then paying someone else to fix the problem they created.  They don't care about the customers, they are only in it for the money.  Anthony brag to me about how much money they have already made in 2022.  He stated any more money they make this year is only profit and if they get no other business this year they have already over exceeded their budget.
He further stated while sitting at my dining room table that they can all relax for the rest of the year because of the amount of money they have already made.  People be aware they don't care, they rip off the customer and it's ok for them to treat people this way.
Let us not give this company any more of our hard earned money.  Gold Medal is the worst company I have ever experienced.

I got a estimate from another company to fix our AC and compressor. They gave me a quote and a fix time 2 weeks from that day. After some thought, I gave Gold Medal a call. They came and gave me an estimate the next day. It was 5K less and could provide service next day. The gentleman that came by was very nice. Very professional. Very compassionate. After a Google search, I found out I got a higher quality product for less. I was in shock. I was mad at myself for not calling Gold Medal first. The entire team I met (4 in total) were nice people. If I need anything HVAC related in the future I will 100% contact then.

I wouldn't hire this company for anything. Incompetent and over priced.

PSEG technician told me that a line jaw inside my meter socket is burned out and I needed to have a licensed electrician to replace the meter socket.
I checked Yelp and found the Gold Medal Service. I checked its website and it states open 24 hours and same day repair. But when I called, it told me that it was booked till Monday. I told them what problem was and the meter socket needed to be replaced.
On Monday, a technician came and I told him what the problem is with the meter socket. The technician initially insisted the wires were not good even after I told him about the problems of the jaw line of the meter socket. I particularly asked him the problem with the meter line jaw. He said no, the meter is good. He still said the meter jaw was good even after I pointed out the one jaw line is open and the rest three were tightly closely. The technician insisted the wire was bad, not the meter line jaw. He gave me the option of replace the wire for $651. In the meanwhile, he tried to sell a membership of $299.
I asked him to do the repair. For whatever reason, he told me that he found out the problem is with the meter socket. Then, he said, he had to call his boss to get a quote. Couple minutes later, he said he had the quote in his book. Then, he gave me an estimate of $3800. Then, he tried to sell $299 membership again.
I told him it is too much. Honestly, I didn't trust him to do the work. Then, he asked me to pay $158 fee for this investigation fee. I told him there was nothing to investigate. PSEG already told me what the problem was and all I need is a licensed electrician who could offer an decent estimate and ready to start working. I refused to pay the investigation fee.

I hired another electrician to finish the same work, the cost is less than half Gold Medal Service asked.

So I will never use this company.

Terrible experience.  We purchased a hot water heater warrantee in 2010.   The same service provider .Frank, came to our house to repair the heater.  He immediately pulled the sticker off or our heater and stated that it did not qualify for a warrantee.  He stated that he would repair it free of charge since he made an error selling us the warantee.  He found a loose sensor wire and then informed us that it would cost $500.00 to repair.  We immediately called the office to speak to a supervisor and also left a message with the Mr. Medaglia.  No return calls all day despite calling a few times.  We are very upset.  Frank left us with a completely malfunctioning water heater.    Would not recommend this company.

I have used this company before and have found them to be overpriced, but called them to replace a plastic piece that caused my toilet to keep running and replace a ignition breaker on my boiler also my faucet in the sink was leaking at the neck, the guy shows up and tells me to fix the toilet was going to be like 350,the boiler breaker like 375 and to fix the leak like 75, I was on the road and I was talking to this guy on the phone debating the cost when he (an employee of the company) starts lecturing me on the cost of running a business (I own a pretty large company) and he starts becoming really obnoxious and starts saying Do you want the work done or not,I dont have time for this I told him to put his tools back in his bag and get out of my house I called my friend in town and he gave me the phone number of his independent plumber  I called him he came over the next day and did all 3 projects for a total of $240.00 I will never use Water Works again, stay away they are a rip-off.

If I could give them no stars I would.  Their technician tried to scam us and charge us $1600 to replace a thermostat.  He made up some story about hard it was to get the thermostat but he had one in his truck.  We knew we were being scammed.  We had Reiner come a few days later, they fixed the problem for $350, new thermostat and all.  DO NOT call Gold Medal Service, wait a few days to get good service.

I am updating this review.  Gold Medal Service contacted me and refunded by service call.  This told me this was an isolated incident and was very happy and willing to refund my money.  I am very happy that they took the initiative to rectify the situation.

Used theme in the past - loved them. Not so much today. I called to get service, a young lady answered even associated my number as a prior customer - she put me on hold then hung up. I thought it was a mistake, so called again since Gold Medal was my go-to provider. It wasn't a mistake - same girl hung up on me. Not a good way to keep recurring customers.
