We have hired Blake multiple times for plumbing and heating issues. He always arrives on time, is easy to reach, and is great to work with. We have a tankless water heater so we need a qualified and experienced plumber to work on it. Blake has always identified the issue quickly and had our unit up and running in no time.
Before discovering Marshall Plumbing, I tried working with another well known plumber in town. He arrived late, was rude, and sent me a huge bill despite not being able to fix the problem.

I never used Marshall, but I called them when my water heater broke.    As you can imagine, no hot water in Tahoe winter is not ideal. I called a ton of people and he was one of the first to respond and try to help.  He was very responsive, professional and promised me he could get to it as soon as the part arrived.  He had a booked schedule, but with my emergency wanted to help.  I would have used him in a heartbeat, but found someone else randomly had the part to fix the issue ASAP.

Called Blake and left a message.  He got right back to us and we set a date.  He was here as planned, reviewed our problem (We thought we had dropped a contact lens down the drain.), and worked on it for 20 minutes or so but was unable to fix it.  He was very clean, efficient and then said, NO CHARGE!  We couldn't believe it.  He will definitely be asked back when we need any plumbing done.

I found Blake Marshall here on Yelp after a really negative and unpleasant phone experience with another plumber whom I'd found on Angie's List.

My experience with Blake was the polar opposite. He couldn't have been more positive and pleasant. Our plumbing needs were not urgent; we set up his first available which was about a week out.

His follow up is amazing and he was right on time. I needed two bathroom faucets replaced, a shower head replaced, a malfunctioning tub faucet replaced and a leaky outdoor spigot fixed. I'd been warned by a plumber years before that the tub faucet couldn't be fixed/replaced without tearing out the tile and getting behind the wall. The Angie's List guy also gave me a song and dance about that. Blake said that it would not be necessary to tear anything out to replace the faucet. He brought in tarps to protect the carpets and set to work with no warnings about all the problems that he might encounter. He just did it. All of it. Everything. Perfectly. He went over his very fair bill in detail and left the place immaculate. Great guy, very professional. As long as he is in business, I will never call another plumber again.

Awesome experience.  Our water heater died.  Blake came quickly and worked on MLK day to replace our heater. He is super knowledgeable, no nonsense, and fixed another issue on the spot with our furnace as well.  He is very knowledgeable about what's required for code and our house needs, and very trustworthy.  We would definitely use them again for our plumbing and heating needs.

We recently used Marshall Plumbing & Heating to replace a 30+ year old heater in our home in Tahoe Vista. I had called 8 businesses, only 3 replied, and Blake impressed us the most. He was knowledgeable, was patient in answering our questions and didn't try to sell us on extras that we didn't need or want. On the day of installation, upon removal of the old heater, he was met with unexpected surprises. Evidently the heater had never been installed properly and that led to additional work on Blake's part. He took care of it efficiently and professionally and had us up and running by the end of the day.

Blake Marshall was the first of three plumbers I contacted (who got good reviews) to respond to my phone message.  He came by the same day, and was very prompt, courteous and professional.  He fixed a faucet when he could have told me to buy a new one, and he found something else wrong with the garbage disposal that needed fixing.  He got the parts and was able to take care of everything.  It was a pleasure and I will be using Marshall Plumbing for my plumbing and heating needs from now on.

I've known Blake Marshall for many years on a professional level.  He was an engineer at a local 5-star resort we both worked at, and anytime we needed work done on our property, we would call the engineering department and hope they dispatched Blake to do the required work.  There was plenty of talent in that department, but the reason we appreciated having Blake on the job was that it was crystal clear that he knew exactly what he was doing.  Additionally he was always on time or early, efficient with his time, and detail oriented until the work was completed.  

Fast forward a few years and both of us have moved on from the resort we worked at together.  I needed both HVAC and Plumbing work done at a property I was refurbishing down in Reno.  I'd heard that Blake had founded Marshall Plumbing and gave him a call.  He was able to schedule a time that was convenient for me, he arrived at the job site in Reno 15 minutes early, and wasted no time getting to work.  He showed up with everything needed to complete the repairs I had scheduled, identified additional problem areas in my project, and had the parts on hand to complete those repairs as well.  

I feel very comfortable giving Marshall Plumbing a 5-star rating, as all of the work I have ever seen him do over the years is 5-star quality.  Now, i'm not a plumber or HVAC guy myself, so I can't say how his rates compare with others, but they seemed to be pretty fair.  And more importantly,  I have the peace of mind that the work was done professionally.  Plumbing and Heating repairs can have very serious consequences to both life and limb and financially as well, and I suggest anyone who wants the peace of mind that their work was done safely and correctly should give Marshall Plumbing a call.

This is the second time I've used Marshall Plumbing and Heating with the same continuing stellar service.  The most recent service call was due to the water shut-off system for my townhome not working.  After trying to get the shut-off valves to work, it was determined that they need to be replaced.  This was not a surprise to me as they have not been used for a very long period of time, so are frozen in place.

Blake explained in a very understandable way the steps that will need to be taken to fix the system.  He also took the time to teach me actions to take to winterize the townhome and provided me with a great document for doing so. Being from the Bay Area, let's just say I needed some training.  Blake's professionalism, knowledge, ability to identify the issue and explain solutions, and share helpful information make him an excellent choice for anyone's plumbing needs.

Blake Marshall Plumbing and Heating deserves at least five stars here. We own a second home at Dollar Point, Tahoe City. It's about 50 years old with some crusty plumbing. A plumber we'd had earlier totally botched the job, causing a leak in our second floor shower which sent water down to the first floor. Blake -- recommended to us by a home inspector -- corrected the problem, installed new valves, shower arm, and shower head to our complete satisfaction, and resealed the downstairs toilet which the other plumber incorrectly installed. My wife was also impressed by his fastidiousness: drop cloths wherever he walked, and little plastic booties covering his shoes to avoid bringing any dirt into the house! We'll be calling on him for a couple of other projects too. We recommend Blake Marshall Plumbing and Heating strongly and without hesitation.

On the day he visited us, Blake had just learned he was going to become a father. We wish Dad and Mom all the best!

Blake's is a first class service provider. He is incredibly professional, straightforward, and transparent in explaining both what issues may or may not exist, as well as pricing for his services. We have used his services twice and both times have felt very comfortable with his explanations of the state of our furnace and approach to servicing it, and his prices are extremely reasonable. He will definitely continue to be our first call for heating and A/C services in the future.

The one thing to know is that b/c Blake is so good, he is often booked up, so your best bet is to try to book his services preventatively or at the first hint of trouble, rather than for emergencies. We ended up losing heat unexpectedly on a weekend during a storm and had to call in another local provider b/c we couldn't get to Blake, and we got totally ripped off with service far inferior to his. Not at all a knock on Blake, just a reminder that to the extent you can plan ahead to work with him, it is well worth it.

There are certain things that I definitely take for granted and turning on the water and expecting it to get hot is one of those things. I tried remedying the problem myself by relighting the pilot but the heater was having none of unskilled efforts.

I called a plumbing supply place in Truckee and they gave me the contact number for Marshall's Plumbing. I called and spoke to Blake and he promised to get over the next day. While on the phone, he also explained the company's rates and how long he thought it might take.

The next day, Blake arrived on time and got right to work. First, I have to say that Blake is great at explaining things in layperson's terms. Second, there were no surprises - he charged me exactly what he said he would over the phone. Lastly, when the pilot light went out about two hours after he left, he came back the next evening to make sure that everything was ok (this time I was actually able to relight the pilot myself).

All in all, Blake's service is great, he knows his stuff, his prices and reasonable and transparent, and he stands behind his work 100%. Highly recommend Marshall's Plumbing, a definite 5 star experience.

Blake was terrific!  He was responsive, on time, friendly, knowledgeable and respectful. We had our water shut off changed so that I don't have to climb under the access in the garage. I am disabled and it is getting harder to twist the large iron valve. He worked with us to come up with a solution and it looks and works perfectly. These guys were amazing. They replaced our water shut off valve under our house. A horrible job. They were punctual, efficient and everything was done with water back on by the time we got home. We are so grateful.

I called Blake when we had a 'crisis' at our home in Northstar.  It was August, a busy vacation time, when we discovered that rodents had settled into the duct system and done a lot of damage.  We had renters coming in, and needed to get this resolved in order to fulfill that commitment. Our rental agent made at least five calls - non of them returned, and basically said you're on your own.  Fortunately the company who installed our heating system told us about Blake Marshall. Blake, too, was over booked.  We were able to get a short term fix- good enough to get us through the rental commitment, after which Blake came in and did a proper remediation of the problem.

I was incredibly appreciative, that Blake took the time to explain to me what the issues were - and what needed to be done to do the necessary repairs.  He was the first/only person I'd talked to who took the time to help me understand what I have no knowledge of - HVAC systems - to the extent that I understood what needed to be done.

This was the first time I had to deal with this on my own - my husband unable to help me at the time.  I consider Blake a trusted adviser.

Blake is sImply the best plumber! Extremely knowledgeable, courteous, professional and prompt. You can feel confident that he will show up, perform the work with quality and leave your home clean. In this area (Truckee ) you run across too many contractors that can not manage their time and business properly. They either do not respond or do not show up or give you some date for the work so far in the future that it's just not practical. Although Blake is busy, he does respond and show up promptly ready to solve your plumbing needs.

1. Broken Water Heater (leak)- Showed up immediately after call. This was an emergency and he treated it as one. After about 5 min of looking at it he found the main issue and was off to ace to get the correct part. This issue was fixed within an hour and I have not had any issues to this day with it. Oh did I mention that he had another job going on at the same time but because this was an emergency, he came to me first.

2. Install new faucets on sinks- This was a little easier of a task but figure I would get it done right instead of possible messing this up myself. Again, fast and reliable service was the name of his game. He was there later that day after he had finished up laying gas lines at someones new house, and installed the faucets in the blink of an eye. Literally like 15 min. It actually kinda made me feel dumb because he mace it look so easy. But overall I am glad I had him do it. I have had no worries or issues with leaks, plus the house looks so much better with the new fixtures.

I have used Marshall Plumbing twice now and will in the future.

Blake (owner) first fit me in to do a simple (but time sensitive) toilet repair, and I asked him back to replace an older water heater and 'snug up' my heater ducts.  On both occasions, he was extremely professional and pleasant to work with.   Responsive, on time, clearly knows what he's doing and willing to take the time to answer questions and explain how things work.   Blake made the costs clear up front, no surprises, and was gracious about checking out a concern I had that turned out to be unrelated to the work he'd done.  I'd have no hesitation recommending him to family and friends, will be my first stop for any future plumbing or heating needs.

Blake informed me I had one of the quietest models on the market and replacing the unit (for no reason) would be pretty pricy.

It was a pleasure working with Blake Marshall, the owner.  Spoke with Blake on the phone at first about a leak in the walls.  He was knowledgable and proved exactly so in his workmanship when he arrived to resolve it.  We were happy with the result.  Having a water problem many miles away is disheartening.  Glad Blake was the first plumber I spoke to.  Would use him again definitely and certainly would recommend him.

Called Marshall Plumbing to come out to our house to correct another contractor's shoddy work. Blake Marshall arrived as promised, studied the installation of our new, whole house Humidifier, and identified and corrected a couple of problems within 15 minutes of his arrival.

This new humidifier had not been running previously and after a day, or two, some steam problems arose, again from the previous contractor's shoddy installation, I described these to Blake through an e-mail, and he was able to suggest things to check, which corrected the problems.

I found Blake to be professional, bright, and competent. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
