Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing

A week prior, I had LUKE and ALEX at my house to repair the toilets. They are so friendly & fast!! We were talking about the water shutoff to the house and how where I need to do it, it is very difficult & really terrible. They talked about how we could make improvements to the shutoff next to the house instead. I've always wanted to do it and didn't know I could. They came back out the next week and fixed a different toilet (that decided to break) and dug up the water shutoff & made it awesome! I really love these guys and will never call anyone else for my plumbing woes.

We had another great experience with Ira Hansen and Sons Plumbing. They replaced our water heater in August of 2021. We recently noticed a delay in getting hot water. It took longer than normal. We called Ira Hansen one day ago and they promptly scheduled an appointment for this morning between 11:00 & 12:00. We were pleasantly surprised when their plumber, Shae Vetter, called to let us know he had a cancellation and could come earlier. When he arrived he quickly inspected our system, determined the issue and immediately repaired it. We were impressed with his knowledge of plumbing. He was also very articulate and pleasant. He represented Ira and Hansen Plumbing very well. If you have a plumbing issue, call Ira and Hansen Plumbing. You will be very pleased with their service!

Called them out to figure out the sewer smell.  Tyler came out and said he found the issue under the bathroom sink and fixed it.  While he was there found the issue with a leak under the kitchen sink which I will fix, charged me $350 which I don't mind paying if its fixed.  Later that day the sewer smell was back, called him to return to fix it and says it has to be the toilet ring and wanted to $250 to come back and fix it.  $250 for a $15 dollar ring and 30 minutes to replace....ridiculous.  Find a better plumbing company.....in the future I will.

This company was really excellent.  I called (and they immediately answered the phone!) and I spoke to a knowledgeable girl named Taylor who had Tracy the plumber up to my house in less than an hour!  We live in a very affluent community in South Reno and often get gouged by inflated prices and quotes for things we don't need.  Not IH&S plumbing.  They were honest, quick and efficient and only did the necessary work .  Extremely impressive from start to finish.  Can't go wrong with this company.

Couldn't help but notice a driver a couple months back (just saw my review wasn't published) in one of your trucks (fully branded, which is how i found you) mocking the climate change protestors by acting like he was crying rubbing his eyes and then laughing at the kids (elementary through middle and high school) protesting outside their school in Truckee today. Not very mature to be mocking children who are trying to do what they think is right. Don't know your stance/care as we're all entitled to our opinions  and it looks like you guys provide an excellent service, BUT still not a good look for an adult driving a company vehicle to be making fun of kids.

Very happy with my service with these guys. This is the second time I've used them, first time was an emergency Sunday issue which I was very grateful for their emergency weekend service, and this second time I had the luxury of scheduling the appointment. It was easy to schedule and on time arrival.
Andy and Tracy were quick and knowledgeable even with my old 1940's plumbing issues. My 2 outside spickettes were replaced and the drain in my basement is working like it should! Andy even cleaned out the sink which was above and beyond IMO.
Ira Hansen and sons will be my go-to for plumbing requests here on out.

On Monday morning calling a plumber for same day service would be a problem for most companies not Ira Hansen Plumbing Laresa set the appointment Tracey came did a great and good job, now I know why Ira Hansen has five stars, thank you so much for quick good and reasonable price, I will use you forever

After having to deal with an shower issue for a year the management finally found a competent plumber who didn't want or need to tear open the wall and knew exactly what the problem was within minutes !! Michael was very professional and got the problem taken care of within a half hour !!! Clarence and Luke were lifesavers!  On time, professional, friendly.. and most important, provided quality work.  We were in a first time plumbing crisis and the entire process from appointment set-up to work completion was soooo easy.

We will be loyal customers for life.

Used this service in the past and was good, now, not so much. Set up appt to have shower looked at for constant drip from shower head, believed was a bad Kohler cartridge.  Guy came out inspected and confirmed that was the problem, took maybe 15 minutes to diagnose.  Then said he was going to Western Nevada Supply to look for cartridge needed, returned an hour later said no part available, asked my wife who the decision maker was, not good! I asked for part number, he didn't have one. Total cost for service $500, $250 pr/hr, twice the price of other plumbers in the area. Bottom line, unprofessional and expensive, shop around.

Alexis Hansen was my realtor and pushed her family business on me. They left a huge hole in my ceiling and put in a faucet that broke weeks later and now she is suing me for retaliation because I did not go with her to sell my house (she couldn't sell it the first time). Do not use this company.

Looking for plumbing services at a reasonable rate? Ira Hansen and Sons is not the way to go. We contracted them to reconnect a faucet and garbage disposal (supplied by customer) plus an angle stop supply valve to a new kitchen sink. Price came to $700, which averaged out to over $200 per hr, an hour of which was spent getting parts subsequently priced at $100 (could have got them at Home Depot for under $50).

Workmanship was ok, but after post checking with some other plumbers, it became clear Ira Hansen and Sons were on the high side price wise. Bottom line, if cost is a consideration, suggest checking around before using their services.

We called for a repair to our water heater and Tyler came out and fixed it promptly.  Tyler did a great job and charged a fair price as well.  Because of Tyler's efforts I will be using Ira Hansen and Sons for all my plumbing needs!  Thanks so much Tyler!!

Excellent process...First Taylor helped set up my appointment.  She is delightful to talk with and the appointment was satisfactorily set.  Tracy was able to come earlier than the appointment which also worked out well. He was very polite and thorough in explaining the process and the estimate for the faucet installation.  Very pleased when he explained what he was doing and how the faucet would work in the particular setting.  He also was very neat ...cleaned up everything.  Highly pleased with the entire process from setting up the appointment to the completion of the installation.  I will use again if needed.  Taylor and Tracy are very nice people to work with.

I chose this company because of their high ratings and they have been in business and contributing to the community for quite some time. When I called Taylor was very helpful in accommodating my schedule with their visit. And the plumber, CJ, was extremely helpful in keeping me apprised of the work that was necessary to correct the leak in my toilet. Unfortunately, the problem was not initially repaired satisfactorily  because of a problem with the new part and a subsequent visit was necessary. CJ was most apologetic for the inconvenience to me. I told him that in my many years of dealing with customer service that things can go wrong -- it's inevitable. But it's how the problem is handled that counts. And this issue was handled both professionally and with concern for inconvenience to me. Taylor and CJ both confirmed that great customer service still exists.

Ira Hansen and Sons came out to fix our plumbing, they were here for a short time, used a snake outside and fixed it. Charged us $185 to get this done. We left shortly after this on vacation and came back to a backed-up bathroom again. I called to explain that we haven't been here to use the plumbing and it's clearly not fixed. They said they can't warranty plumbing and since it's been more than a couple days, they would have to charge us $185 again. I asked if I could send them our travel documents to show that we weren't in town, so clearly we weren't using the plumbing but she said no. Super frustrating, will not be using them again.

I am SUPER impressed and I have Larrisa and Tracy to thank! After getting the run around all morning for an emergency plumbing issue, I decided to call these folks.  Larrisa was knowledgeable and put in an emergency order and the plumber was here within an HOUR!  We live in The Highlands on a hill and our access pipe isn't an easy one to access under a short deck.  Tracy maneuvered his way and handled it!  I can't thank you guys enough!  Having water backing up in the house is a scary ordeal and I am MUCH APPRECIATIVE!!

$250 to unplug a toilet seems exorbitant!!!

On the other hand, Tyler told me that is their hourly rate and the minimum charge.  
I should have checked what this company charges before choosing it.  

On the other hand, Tyler spent over an hour dealing with a minor problem with a second toilet.
When I told him that I'd be writing a negative review about the price, he continued working on this second toilet, remained professional and pleasant.

If I again need to call a plumber, I'll do some price checking.
I may replace one of the toilets to get a more powerful plush.
Factoring price, I would consider choosing this company again and would ask for Tyler.
I appreciate the ethical and conscientiousness he displayed in dealing with me.

My mother's sink was leaking, and being fairly new to the area, I didn't have an established plumber. Looked on Yelp and read the reviews, which were great. Not only that, they were fairly close. When I talked to Taylor, their scheduler, she was so accommodating and nice. I was on a tight time frame and she was able to send Tracy over within the next 1/2 hour. Tracy not ONLY called to say he received the job, but actually told me his location and his ETA. Tracy diagnosed the issue, gave me the option of getting my own parts (appreciated that option) or using theirs (which was MOEN - same thing I would have bought myself) and gave me a quote for the entire cost. Their pricing was extremely competitive and Tracy was very thorough with his installation, cleanup and explaining how the new faucet worked to my mom. WE HAVE FOUND OUR PLUMBING SERVICE!!!!! Thank you Taylor and Tracy!!!!

Our very old water heater broke down and Thayne at IHS Plumbing came out promptly and worked to put in a new one till 8:30 at night! That is great dedication and we we really appreciated the excellent service!! I highly recommend them!

Like everyone using Yelp, I look for companies that have favorable reviews and I always look for negative reviews too.  I called Ira Hansen & Sons Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning without first looking at Yelp.  Why would I violate my own practice of checking Yelp first?  Because Ira Hansen came to my front door one day. He was not promoting his company, he was asking for me to vote for him in our local elections.  An obviously  successful business man that felt he still wanted to serve the people of our community in the public sector.  I found this to be an endeavor that I admire.  So, as to my service call, I asked for them to rebuild the insides of two toilets, install a new sink, garbage disposal, a new faucet, associated water lines and drain lines and install a new dishwasher with all the plumbing and waste lines.  The technician that was sent to me was Andy.  He called 30 minutes before my appointment time to let me know he was on his way and he was exactly on time.  Andy reviewed the work I was asking him to perform and he was empowered to give me a fixed price to complete all the tasks.  Andy is an awesome professional and it was a pleasure to talk with him.  Andy takes pride in his work, cleans up after himself and made sure I was happy with his work.  I can now say to my extended family and friends that I have a Go To company that I trust and happily recommend for any plumbing, heating, and air conditioning work.  Check them our at ISHplumbing.com.

Response to leaking upstairs condo water heater was within hours of calling.  Work was estimated accurately and completed within a few hours the next day, which was a Saturday.  Access to the work space was horrific, but the job was completed perfectly.  This water heater also supplies hot water to the AC heater and is a more complicated install... and it was also done perfectly.  I would highly recommend IRA Hanson for plumbing needs!

The office and the plumbers were both professional. They were up front, fair, and went the extra mile. I would definitely call them again. Sean and his helper were polite, personable, and got the job done quickly yet thoroughly.

Super prompt and professional service.  This is the second time we've used this company and we've been pleased both times.  Our initial contact Lorissa  was efficient she does her job well.  Our plumber Clarence confirmed the appointment and kept us informed of his ETA.  He completed the task in a professional manner.  We would use their services again.
