Allen Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning

Allen Lamont owner of Allen Plumbing Heating Air Conditioning is one of the finest professionals in the business. I did not know him prior to this week after my central air conditioning broke down. I researched the different air conditioning products in the market, as well as, the local contractors. He offered me a name brand replacement with a price close to Lowes and Home Depot. Where as the other contractors were much higher. His team came in and installed everything within 48 hours. Through no fault of his, an expensive thermostat failed about the same time. He worked with the manufacture to get it replaced for free after spending hours of his own weekend. It was quite clear to me I had found a vendor who effective, efficient, honourable, and extremely trustworthy.

I called them after I read all the great reviews by happy customers. I was very excited to employ their services. Unfortunately, after 3 1/2 weeks of trying to get Lamont to come to my house to change out some bathroom fixtures, I had to call another plumber. He kept putting me off week after week and then finally just quit responding to my messages. Very unprofessional. I called Johnson plumbing and they came to my house the next day and did a great job.

Have called them 3 times to try and get an appointment, but no response. Not sure how they stay in business with this kind of customer service.

Lamont was fantastic in this heat wave with our a/c unit going completely down. His prompt service, diagnosis & pricing ... top notch !
Very professional and very clean with installation and gave thorough instructions on the thermostat. I highly recommend his company.

He is extremely knowledgeable & honest, does quality repair work a d is very timely. We've used him twice and will continue using him if we ever have a need.

Have used these guy several times. (faucet leak, toilet, new fixtures) Finally taken the time to review.  Most important they have clean feet /wear booties, punctual and professional.  A friendly person always answers their phone.  They respond quickly and their prices are competitive but their service is the best in Reno....

I am a good judge of character and Allen is very honest and up front. He came out hours after calling him and fixed the furnace in my rental property. Instead of making up things to fix and up selling me he fixed only what had to be fixed and charged me the minimum. He also gave me a rough estimate on another property I have to change out the blower motor and was way more cost effective than the other bids I have had. If you want a straight shooter and don't want to feel like prey to a predator call him up and enjoy piece of mind. Thanks Allen I wish there was more people like us in the world.

Once again Lamont saved the day.  Its been 2 years since my last call to him and once again I called him in the morning and he was at my house working on the furnace by lunchtime.   I have an old furnace and he keeps the old girl running.  My house is toasty and warm once again.  I am grateful for an honest and timely repair guy!

On a record-setting day (104), our AC went out. Called up Allen based on the good reviews here, and I'm definitely glad I did. Lamont came out that same day, and though he didn't have the part he thought he needed in his truck, he came back the next day with the new control board. That did the trick, and he also ran a new pipe for proper condensation drainage. The price was fair and the work quality was excellent. What more can you ask for? Highly recommended.

Called them for an emergency AC problem on Friday 4th of July weekend, lady on the phone said she would have someone call. Lamont responded within 5 minutes of placing a call to the office and was on his was to other call. Lamont said he would be right over since he was just down the street. Lamont was here within 20 minutes of getting off the phone with him.

Lamont had the best customer service I've had in this town since I've moved here. I called 16 other companies around town and nobody had the time our manpower to handle the service call and if the did it was a 2hr min at $150.00 per hour. Lamont actually cares about his customers and charged me more than a fair rate for being a holiday weekend and knowing all his competition was charging more. Lamont definitely knows his business, very knowledgeable of what he his doing. Had issue fixed within an hour didn't try and milk it for more money.

Lamont seriously went above and beyond making sure I was taken care of a customer. With what I do for a leaving I preach to my employees its all about customer service. I would like for my team member to take a lesson from Lamont. Allen Plumbing Heat & Air have that small town vibe of customer service, respect and courtesy.

OMG!! On one of the hottest days of the year -- and with company staying from out of town -- our air conditioning decides to quit pumping out cool air. Ugh!! We called Allen's that evening and left a message on their service. Next morning, Lamont called and based on the info we gave him, thought it may just be a burned out fan motor. Within an hour, Javier showed up. Turned out to be a starter component; he had it fixed truly within an hour or so  at a cost that was easy on my budget! These guys came recommended by other people where we live, and they did not disappoint. Thanks for helping us chill again,  Lamont and Javier!

I am so grateful for Lamond. I have two newborn twins, and our air conditioner decided to break on one of the hottest days of the year. Lamond came out immediately and got our system working right away. He was so nice and helpful and fair. We'll definitely be using his service from now on.

Allen Plumbing was top notch! A+ work on my old and complicated boiler unit. Very knowledgeable and friendly and even worked on a Saturday to fit my schedule. Very happy with their service today.

I am happy to add my 5 star review to the list of them below.   I had the house heater stop working in my house in Reno during a very cold snap.   I was very fortunate that Lamont was available to go out that same day.   He diagnosed the problem to be carbon build up inside the furnace which caused stop working,  he cleaned everything up, and got it working again for a reasonable fee.   I highly recommend this company !

I have been using Lamont's business for over 2 years now. I highly recommend him and I would use no other service for my heating and plumbing needs. His business is prompt , professional, fairly priced and all around amazing. I have had broken pipes, broken garbage disposal and heating issues. I always feel secure knowing that Lamont will get it fixed for me and I'm always glad to see him. Truly an amazing business.

After getting three quotes for installing a whole air conditioning unit in our home, Allen was by far the most affordable. We were able to schedule an appointment quickly, despite the busy time of year, and Lamont and Javier were able to install the unit quickly within half a day. Before leaving we asked Lamont about recommendations from other contractors for some other tasks around the home. Lamont also offered to return in a few months to review his work and get ready for fall and winter. Lamont is professional, courteous, helpful, and a heck of a nice guy. We are so grateful.

I have mixed reviews here. I liked the service that I received from Javier but he took my word for what was wrong and fixed my Recirculation pump for $ 400 bucks when all that needed fixing was a hose that would have been much cheeper and faster to fix. I was hearing a whiney noise and assumed it was the bearings in the pump but when Javier finished that was still a whine. He determined after replacing the pump that it was merely an old gas hose from the heater to the water heater that was making the noise. I wish he would have determined that before installing a new pump that was most likely ok still and was just a few years old. Javier was friendly and gave advise on how to make the new pump last longer and it was hard to stay mad at him for the unnecessary repair.

However, what really makes the review less that 4 or 5 stars is that the pump seems overly loud and I spoke with Lamont who promised to come look at it, however he has not shown up twice and now is ignoring my requests to check on Javier's install of the pump and see if the noise is normal. the new pump is louder than the old one that was still fine. It seems like once Allen Plumbing has your money, that any follow up is not important to them. That is my opinion of my service.

We needed help getting our faucet fixed outside since its split during the cold winter months. Lamont came with a smiling face and was very friendly. He figured out where everything was right away and had no issues fixing it. And Allen's Plumbing was definitely affordable. If you want it done right and not pay arm and a leg, call Allen's Plumbing.

Heater quit on us on a really cold day. I called Allen Plumbing & Heating and Lamont arrived within a couple of hours (on a Saturday!). He fixed the heater and replaced the thermostat too. Got us up an running in no time and the cost was under $200.00! Lamont is good people and Allen Plumbing & Heating will get all of my business in the future as well as my recommendation to friends and family.

Outstanding customer service and very professional.   Allen plumbing has amazing attention to detail and excellent quality work.  Allen plumbing only got five stars because six was not an option.

Mr. Allen doesn't stand behind his work. He repaired a leak in our main line and his work failed causing a flood under our house. He re-repaired his work for free and admitted his original repair had failed. But when my husband asked him what he was going to do about all the standing water  Mr Allen hung up on him. I can't understand why such a supposedly reputable plumber would want to force a customer  to the BBB and the Contractors' Board.

The motor in my heater went out in January (brrrrr) and Lamont Allen was responsive, professional, friendly, accommodating, fast, thorough AND very reasonably priced. I would recommend Allen Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning to anyone and did recommend them to the pastor of my church. He was also VERY pleased with the work that Lamont did on his heater. He had nothing but nice things to say about the quality of work and the professional demeanor of Lamont Allen.

I have been a customer of Allen plumbing for over four years.  I called them because I had a pressure relief valve on my water heater that was leaking. They responded and replaced the leaking valve without any problems.  We were leaving on vacation so it was important to get the leak fixed before we left.  Before the owner of the plumbing company left, I asked him if everything was turned back on.  He assured me it was all ready to go.
We have a hot water circulating system that this company installed. The owner of the plumbing company forgot to plug the circulating pump back in so the water lines filled with air and the pump would not circulate hot water.  The owner knew we were leaving on vacation the following day but could not find the time to come out to repair his mistake. As a result the pump ran dry for the 10 days we were gone. I called him immediately upon our return. He stated he was busy but maybe he could squeeze us In on tues or wed.  It has now been 2 1/2 weeks and he still has not been here. I have called his answering service and he won't return my calls. Today I called a real plumber and he replaced the circulating pump for a total of $532.  My mistake, other than thinking Allen plumbing would stand behind their work, was to pay by check. Had I paid with a credit card I could have filed a dispute until the job was done correctly.  It's hard to file a stop payment on your check once it has been cashed.  I guess the philosophy of Allen Plumbing is that the prospect  of new customers far out weighs taking care of existing customers.

A locally owned company that puts their customers first. I will recommend them to my family and friends.

I had an issue with my Rheem gas furnace. Lamont showed up a little later than expected, but more than made up for it with the excellent and quick customer service. I would highly recommend Allen Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning.

Allen was personable, on time, gave great service and reasonably priced as a plumber.  I highly recommend.

Lamont is a master plumber meaning his work is the best, fast, and absolutely impeccable. He is not a do one job and go outfit he addresses all the issues you may have going on. Have used him for garbage disposer, new faucet and dishwasher hookup and everything under the sink ends up clean, zip tied just marvelous. It was a rats nest of hoses before he came and he really shines. Respectful, well mannered, and a joy to converse with. pricing is always reasonable because he works lightening fast and expect to plan ahead as he's usually booked out 2 or 3 days because he is in such high demand. Don't settle, use Allen plumbing. I'm glad I do.

Called Allen Plumbing to fix a broken hose bib in my backyard. They were quick to respond. Gave me a time window of 11-12. Rich responded and was done by 11:30. Super nice guy, with 30 years experience. And, about $70 cheaper than other shops I had called. I will definitely use them again!

Lamont did a great job on our plumbing issues and his fee seemed very reasonable. Our issue wasn't an emergency but he was still able to work us in the very next day when he was in the neighborhood. He was right on time, very friendly, and did an excellent job. I'd highly recommend him.

Turns out the buyer bought the condo as-is and I didn't need their services, but I was left with a great impression of their service response.

Sad to say this, but I called twice (one week apart) and never got a response on either request to the answering service.  I can understand missing a message once, but not twice.  I am left thinking that they just didn't want to do the job I needed done.  I would have preferred that to just radio silence....

Such high ratings here and I would have probably continued the trend....

I had Lamont & Javier of Allen Plumbing install my whole house water filtration and softening system this last summer. They did a very professional job and very clean. Pricing was very competitive. I have had Allen Plumbing fix other plumbing issues and they are always fair on the price and give quality workmanship. I have referred Allen Plumbing to two of my friends and they too are just as happy with the professionalism and quality of work for the price. These guys are the real deal! Needed some rough plumbing work done last minute. They totally came through for us. Lamont did everything he said he would do when he said he would do it including responding to texts/phone calls. Perhaps nothing is more anxiety inducing for a homeowner than when something with plumbing or HVAC breaks. Visions of dollar signs and scenes from The Money Pit immediately come to mind, along with a sensation of impending doom. This was my first reaction when I noticed yesterday around noon that my HVAC was mysteriously quieter than usual and not blowing cold air. Who am I going to call to fix this? I took to Yelp for some direction and landed upon Allen Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning. I called the number and talked to a dispatcher who told me Lamont would call me back within the hour. Fifteen minutes later, I got a call from Lamont. As it was already afternoon, his work day was already booked up, but he did offer to come out late in the evening if needed. It was not a particularly hot day and so I didn't mind waiting until the next day. Lamont called ahead and was at my house by 9am. He was friendly and professional, and also patient with my curious dogs and toddler. He went to work quickly and in no time had my AC running again. The charge for the service was less than just a diagnostic fee from one of his competitors. Lamont is one of the good guys you can trust to do the job for a fair price. I would have no hesitation in calling him first for anything related to plumbing or HVAC.

Lamont Allen responded quickly to a request for a faucet replacement. Job was small and required 15 - 20 minutes, so he only charged for a service call. I would definitely use him for future needs.

Used them twice. Once for a plumbing clog and repair and once for our heater. Good old fashioned service. They are very prompt and explain what they're doing and why they're doing it. I would highly recommend them!!

We had a blower motor go out and I was unable to blow hot air into my house. This was of grave concern given that it was -3 degrees Fahrenheit outside and I have two small children and a wife to keep warm. It was not super dire given we had space heaters, but within 3 hours of my call, Lamonte Allen was out and replaced the blower motor for a reasonable price. This is amazing because it was a very busy day for ALL HVAC people due to the record low temperatures the week before. For example, my office had frozen pipes so I was working from home. I had called several other vendors and they were busy, one vendor explaining that he could not get out until 3 days later!! Mr. Allen was very easy to work with and very knowledgable. I would use him again when the next chance arises, probably for regular maintenance to my furnace and water heater.

After calling another five-star plumbing company in my area and receiving a very rude response, I called the number listed for Allen Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning. Mr. Lamont Allen answered personally, and was able to come fix my sink the very next day! He was very timely, both in arrival and in fixing the problem. Couldn't have asked for a better plumber! Will definitely use Allen Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning again!

I was very disappointed in the response and over priced service My clients and I received from Allen's plumbing and heating. I called to have work done at my Business and was informed my money was no good at there facility. They noted my account that had a delay in payment when Colorado was devastated with a flood in 2013.  My property and my vehicles were destroyed and my payment to them was somewhat delayed due to the setback. I'm shocked they treat there locals with such little respect and understanding at such a difficult time. I'm glad to know as I have told hundreds of my clients not to use this company..After mentioning this to them, I was shocked how many checked the price and found they were WAY overpricing there work. If you've hired them for work or have done work in the past, I encourage you to double check there prices against other companies ...

Lamont Allen just finished a plumbing job at our home. He was prompt, reliable, professional, knowledgeable and respectful. Good Character is such an important quality in the business world and Lamont's exemplary character was evident in everything he did. As we are new to the area we felt a bit vulnerable in choosing a reputable business that wouldn't over charge and take advantage of our lack of knowledge. Thankfully, we were fortunate enough to find Allen Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning and we were grateful he saved us money. We will always turn to this company for any of our needs! Had a couple of minor issues with our toilets, and a leaky kitchen sink.  Lamont was very responsive, keeping me up to date with texts, since he had to order parts.  Price was reasonable as well.

We have used Allen plumbing twice now, both times Javier came out and did the work.  The first trip was to install a new water heater (something others seemed reluctant to do) and the second was a broad array of tasks like putting in a new swamp cooler and fixing another one, fixing a hot water line, repairing two outdoor faucets that were leaking and several other small irritations.  I couldn't believe how quickly and well every different thing was fixed.  These guys really know their stuff.  There is a lot to fix on the two houses that we just bought on one property, and we are so grateful that these gentlemen are thorough and fairly priced.  What a relief.  Thanks a million Lamont and Javier, you have our unwavering business and support.  :)

Lamont Allen, owner of Allen Plumbing and Heating, is awesome and definitely the person I call when I have a plumbing problem. After I fixed my garbage disposal I realized that the flood  under my kitchen sink was not normal. Lamont was amazing and was at my house within a couple of hours after I called him in a panic. The garbage disposal was rusted out and needed to  replaced. Lamont always returns calls and comes when he says he will.

First time working with Lamont and Javier. They showed up on time and were top notch. They identified the problem promptly, and had our commercial toilet fixed, where 3 other previous plumbers had failed. Price was competitive and service was commendable based on knowledge and efficiency. Thanks guys!

Our air conditioner stopped working Monday afternoon during this heat spell.  I called Lamont & he was able to get us back in cool air the next day at a very reasonable price.  I've used Allen Plumbing for many jobs and they are always very professional & prompt.  Outstanding Customer Service!

What a great young man and dedicated Master Plumber. Lamont Allen did a great job replacing our kitchen faucet and repairing our tub faucet. He knows his craft and did a fast and quality job, he will be our go to guy for any more plumbing issues.

I got several bids and got bids with quite a bit of variation in the estimates. One company even said I needed to have another gas line run all the way from the meter - which would have cost a fortune! I went with Lamont because he seemed the most reasonable and, quite honestly, sometimes its just about finally deciding to trust a person because of instinct. I am so glad I did. We are very happy with our new tankless/instant hot water heater. We also had him re-plumb under our main kitchen sink because it kept coming apart and flooding the cabinet - it also wasn't vented properly/to code. I look forward to working with Lamont in the future when we remodel our bathrooms and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good, trustworthy plumbing, heating and AC company.

Lamont's dad came out.. OMG.. Professional, knowledgeable, funny, efficient and right on time..The price was great and I am so happy with the results..They are my new go to plumber.
