ripped us off
back in 2005?
Here is the BBB complaint I filed,
Morehead Plumbing was performing warranty work on our home back in 2005 and
then attempted to claim that we owe him money for the service rendered. The
warranty work was approved by our home warrantee company, HMS, and his company
was familiar with the authorized repairs allowed. Based on HMS authorizing
the repair, and referring us to call his company, we agreed to allow his company to perform warranty work only. The repairs took two visits and we paid a $75 deductible. However, after this company made the plumbing repairs,
the owner's son did they work, he discovered the work actually performed was beyond what the warranty allowed. The son call his dad and then created a
false work request and asked my wife to sign it, not knowing what she was signing, I saw it when I got home and realize this was a bait and switch
maneuver. To add insult to injury it had the wrong address on the supposed
fake work request! Brilliant! I called the owner Mike Morehead who said he
would drop the bill but he never did as he actually personally filed a lien on
our property for a few hundred bucks. I learned that due to weak state laws
he can file a lien even without a contract for work; specifically Nebraska
Law, Sections 52 125 to 52 159. I would not trust Morehead for any business
because of the way they attempted to deceive and actually deceived us with the
haphazard work request following unauthorized work. I still see their trucks
driving around and feel sorry for anyone who allows them to do any kind of
plumbing work because of their shady methods of doing business. They might be
experience with plumbing but if you would lie like this to a customer you
probably would steal from one as well. A business must be built on integrity
first. Otherwise, they are crooks and untrustworthy.
