I am truly sad to leave a poor review for Taylor Plimbing. Cheryl, Jason, and Justin are all really great people. They get 5 stars for who they are/customer service. They replaced a toilet for me that has zero issues and Justin went out of his way to tighten the nut on my water main. For that I am grateful.

On to the bad part. I had Jason and Justin finish a tub and wall surround for me. It was initally took out as our showers are back to back and the valve broke in the wall. The person who was helping us went MIA after installing pex piping and fixing the floor.

The first day they came to do the job they were terribly sick. Should not have been out on a call. I think the cold medicine caused their reasoning to be off as they drilled the wrong wall of my surround, which was also put in upside down. They did replace this at their cost.

The second time they came back and finished, everything appeared to be ok. The alignment was a bit off, but they assured me with caulking it would be fine. As soon as I went to take a bath the stopper did not work.

Justin came back a fe we days later to fix the stopper. Cheryl called to check how it was. I told her the stopper worked, but the tub had cracked (I think due to over tightening). She recommended I call the warranty on the tub instead of possibly taking responsibility. I understand as they probably lost money on my job after needing to purchase a new surround.

Im going to include photos and video (if yelp allows) to demonstrate my issues. This tub was installed October 2018 and it is now February 2019.  The surround is not supported and moves causing the caulk to crack. I did not know water was getting into the caulk and exiting the side of the tub. Now the floor has more water damage and moves when I step near the edge. I am going to need to tear everything out to fix the floor again.

We needed a plumber to replace a leaking valve, and had to turn off water to keep our kitchen from flooding.

I called a couple of other plumbers first, and was told later in the week.  I called Taylor, explained the situation, and they dispatched a plumber, who arrived within 30 minutes.

The work was done efficiently, quickly, and at a very reasonable cost.

I've found a new plumber, that I'll call for all of my needs in the future!!

At the start of business day, I spoke with LuAnn @ Taylor Plumbing.  She was very kind and sympathetic to my problem...a leaky basement pipe.  I was so relieved that she was able to send someone the same day!  Justin and Jason were knowledgeable and professional plumbers, and they were also very friendly.  I was pleased with their rates, and I will definitely use them again for any plumbing needs!

Leaving 4 stars because I feel like Taylor earned them on a previous visit and LuAnn is just nice as can be.  However, my most recent experience was less than stellar.  I wish companies understood that some people just aren't handy.. or some work 7 days per week and don't have time to spend hours working on things, which is why we hire people.  After having an appointment for one week, the day finally came for them to come out and fix our clog.  (And we had no idea if it was a big deal or small problem) He made several comments about how all it needed was snaked, and then he just told us to get a new fixture and not worry about it.  But I was surprised that he didn't even offer to come back and install the new one or help with that process at all.  He gave us the firm impression we were wasting his time and that was that.  Which, I'm sorry, but $215 for 20 minutes of work is hardly a waste for him -- more for us, actually, financially.  I might give them another shot some day, but I'll shop around first.

Nice enough people but $152. for a plastic toilet handle install that took approx. 10 minutes seems too high to me.

Great customer service!  I bought a new house and had them out twice in a week to fix what turned out to be minor issues.  These two visits and combined time of less than 1 hour cost me over $300.  If you don't have the time or skill to fix these things on your own, you will pay for it.  Overall, I am satisfied with the service and the repairs.  The cost is the only scary part.  I have a faucet that needs repair now and will wait for a family member to help out instead of another $150 plus service call.  They will be the first call I make if I ever have a major issue.

Courteous, professional and fast. Sprung a few leaks after an extended absence from my house. Even though no one ever looks forward to needing a plumber, the Taylor Plumbing crew made it a relatively pain free experience and had the problems solved in what seemed like minutes. Needless to say, they have made the iPhone contact list so if I ever need a plumber in Kansas City, I will know who to call immediately.

!! WARNING: Transparency issues, no itemized receipt, no pre-authorization of work, and no call back from the owner when things are difficult!!

We've been using taylor plumbing for a while (5-6 years), spending more than a couple thousand dollars with them over the course of this time.

Recently I called taylor plumbing for an issue with a water line at one of my rental properties. I called to talk to them about the price range, when they came out no one really told us what to expect. When I talked to Nate (the owner) he acted a little taken back that I asked for a range. I explained that I can't write a blank check and needed just a range $0-??. He said 1000-1500 depending and I said okay that sounds good. The work was done and the two plumbers were outside digging by hand and fixed the issue. The plumbers were at the place around 3-4 hours, so it seemed reasonable to receive a $1000 bill. After receiving the bill, I called taylor to ask for an itemized receipt. They told me that they do not do that and I asked for the owner to call me.

The owner never called me back.

Around a month later, I called to have them come out to fix an issue at the property. They came out and again didn't ask for approval or even really explain what the cost could be for the work to be done. I called the office and talked to the same person (Deana) and she said she remembered me. I asked her if they were going to call me back, and she said No, I asked him and he just told me that we don't do that. I then asked, So, no one was going to call me back? She didn't have an answer. I explained that I'll gladly exercise my right to select a different plumber who is straightforward and honest.

In summary, they were not clear about costs up front, they did not provide an itemized receipt (even after I blindly paid the $1000 invoice) and the owner didn't have the time to call me back and send an itemized receipt. It seems that they do not care about the customers as long as the cash rolls in. If they did care, the owner would at least call me.

For reference, I ran and then exited a very VERY successful business for 19 years, and never have I been so amazed at the lack of customer service and business etiquette.

Check the yellow pages, this happens to other people who use them.

Get a contract on your price
Get contract on the work up front I was charged 600.00 for 2 hrs, they work. Flat rate per job, can be very expensive.

I've used the their services twice and found them (and Rick the plumber) to be highly professional, friendly, clean, and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend them to anyone needing any plumbing work.

- Very knowledgable.  Rick took the time to explain everything that was happening to the repair and extra things to be on the look out for in the future.
- Friendly.  Easy to talk to. Rick even took the time to make the pets feel comfortable with a stranger in the house.  Rick was fun to talk with and joked while fixing the sink (didn't slow down any, just kept working hard and cracking jokes).
- Professional.  From shoe booties to keep the carpets clean; explaining everything happening; checking out existing systems (water heater and softener) to see if there were any other issues.  I felt like I received top tear service for the money spent.
- Cost effective. After a pipe broke during a hard freeze, they went right to the area that broke. Took out the smallest section of drywall they could and repaired the problem pipe.  The plumber took the extra time to listen (and view the meter) to the house/pipes to make sure there were no other leaks.  Again, first class service to make sure the problem was FIXED when they left.
- Great Price.  For the amount of work/effort they did the price is amazing!
Cleanliness. They cleaned everything up and took the trash with them. No bits of pipe, paper or trash anywhere.  This was refreshing compared to another plumber we used before Taylor.

Again, Taylor is a good contractor at a very fair price.

Brian and Justin were wonderful!

We had hired another plumber who came in to work on one of our four projects a few weeks ago but disappeared on us leaving us in a near pickle. TPS was recommended by a colleague from work. I now know who to call when we need plumbing assistance.

Very professional and worth every dollar!

Thank you, Taylor Plumbing!

Initially, I had them come out to take a look at a broken dishwasher. Everyone was very responsive, friendly and professional, from the lady who scheduled my service call to the plumber. They could get out the next day too, which was a plus. They were able to resolve my issue, and when I called back a few months later regarding a separate issue with a toilet, the plumber even remembered the previous service call. This definitely feels like a family business that really cares about their customers. Will be using them in the future (well, hopefully I won't need to, of course! But if I do I'll be calling them.

I cannot say enough good things about Taylor Plumbing.

Our water heater experienced Spontaneous Massive Existence Failure on a Tuesday. We got several quotes from plumbers and called Taylor on Friday to set the appointment.

The appointment was for between 1-2. At 1pm they called me to tell me that they were loading my new tank into the van and would be there in about 10 minutes.

They were professional, clean,  courteous and fast. They tested everything to make sure that all faucets and showers were getting water.
