Able Rooter

Last month, we woke up to our basement flooding due to our main stack being clogged, allowing the heavy rain to flow back into our basement. We called several plumbers and went with the first one who could make it out. That was a mistake. Fast forward to this past weekend, the same issue reared its ugly head. Our basement was flooded, and we were right back to where we were a month ago with the same issue. This time around, we called Able Rooter. Tom made it out that very day and was very knowledgeable of the situation. He showed me that the previous plumber used a spade to barely clear the line, resulting in a quick fix but not actually solving the problem of the grease blocking the pipe. Unlike the previous plumber, Tom took his time to diagnose the problem and used the correct tools to completely clear the pipe from the house all the way to the alley, meaning we will not have this issue again. I cannot recommend Able Rooter highly enough. They are very knowledgeable and professional! I will definitely use them again.

Had a great experience with Josh from Able Rooter today. He was polite, courteous and showed up before the scheduled time which was awesome! Although her had to deal with 28 years of muck in our shower drain, he was quick and efficient. I would not hesitate to use this company again. Thanks again, Able Rooter!

Thank God for Daniel who came out after a long day to rescue us from a backed up basement sewer. He worked quickly and was just a really nice guy.

They have an after hours number where you can make appointments from first thing the next day. They were very professional and polite. I will definitely use them again

Of course I'm happy the drain is working again, but I was also pleased that they kept their appointment, were courteous, and they were CAREFUL. Which is very important to me because my stack is old.

They acted professionally the entire way through and were upfront with the cost.

When we have problems in the future, we'll call this company again.

Tom of Able Rooter responded quickly to my request for service one evening, setting up an appointment the following morning. He texted his ETA and was on time. Tom and crew used appropriate COVID prevention measures (masks, distance, no contact). They solved my drain problem and gave me advice on how to avoid the issue in the future. Highly recommend.

Tom saved the day when our regular Plumber(A&J Drain Services, LLC) didn't even return my calls, emails since last night and today; very disappointed with them and they lost my business. Kitchen clogged and it had to be snaked twice. Tom is very courteous, and he gives you the price for the job upfront and he also kept me apprised when he was on his way from the other job. He works 24/7 and he is very impressive with good business ethics. As he told me he would never leave a customer stranded unless he is not able to do the work and he would notify the customer first!!

We were having issues with our toilet not flushing correctly and called Able Rooter. Tom answered promptly and within minutes of explaining our problem not only gave us a reasonable $ quote for the work but also said he would be here within an hour and a half. And they did just that !!!!
These guys worked quickly and efficiently, got the problem fixed, and went over some details that would help us in the future. Totally professional, true gentlemen, and unsung hero's !!! I highly recommend Able Rooter

Fast, friendly, and professional. Able Rooter fixed the job that Drain Medics screwed up. I sure wish I'd called Able Rooter first. Tom came out right away and did a very thorough job. He also gave me some excellent advice about a government program that would save me hundreds if not thousands of dollars on a sewer line repair if it came to that.

My tub has been backing up on me for awile and its been gross. When taking a quick shower, the water wouldn't drain and would get as high as over my ankles! I do have long hair and a dog with long hair so I was sure hair was clogging the drains... I had been Liquid Plumbing the job myself for about 6 months... finally I could not take anymore!

I called around to a few places, some gave me the runaround, some were very expensive.... I found Able Rooter here on Yelp and the reviews were FIRE. So Monday morning I took the plunge and called. Tom answered and was efficient and helpful. He said he could be out that same night at 6pm! No extra charge for after 5pm.

Robert came to the house (I wasn't there, Hubby was) and worked his magic on the drain. He also noticed that there was an additional problem. I'm not technical but will do my best - the level you use to hold water for a bath was sticking and causing more water to back up. He fixed that too!

I asked Robert about my vanity sink as well - sometimes it gets clogged and I been using a cheap velcro stick thing from Lowe's to unclog it myself. He gave it to me straight and let me know that if the velcro stick was solving it, the clog really wasn't far enough along for his service. This was very appreciated - he could have just said oh no, let me fix it and charged me more - his honesty and caring for me, the customer, took him quickly to a 5 star review.

Everything was cleaned up nicely when Robert left. He took payment by credit card with no upcharge.

Overall, I cannot say enough good things about how efficient, affordable and professional Tom, Robert and the Able Rooter company are! Put them on the speed dial in case you end up in a situation like mine and refer them to all your friends!

I Called Able Rooter for sewer line cleaning. They showed up early got right to work. Did a great job. They were professional and courteous And lot cheaper than the other ( Rooter) company's. save your self some money and time and call Able Rooter next time you need sewers cleaning.

Tom was a life saver. Roto Rooter stood us up twice. Drain Medics came out and drilled a hole in our plastic pipe. Tom came out and said he would take a look and there would be no charge if he couldn't help us. Very professional great service. Got the job done and helped clean up the mess Drain Medics left. A+++

Josh came out on a Sunday and made quick work of my backed-up kitchen sink. He was prompt, friendly, and courteous. I would recommend to anyone needing quick, professional repairs.

When a different outfit failed to show for a scheduled appointment with a slow drain, I called Able Rooter (based on positive reviews on Yelp). Josh said he could be there in 15-20 minutes. He showed up promptly, and after an hour of work, problem was solved, and invoice equalled original estimate. I like professionals. Keep up the great work!

Sewer backed up this morning- called at 7:30 Tom was at my house (in U City) at 8:15. Found access outside near curb, cleared in less than 30 minutes. Ran bathtub, multiple faucets - problem solved.

Tom was a lifesaver! We had a sewer back up late on a Monday evening and he was able to come out within the hour to cable the line. He was very professional, eager to help out as best he could and gave us great advice on the next steps to take. He even checked in the next night to see how things were going. After some heavy rain over the weekend, we noticed sewage back up in our basement, and a very clogged and backed up drain. Of course it was a weekend, so I called half a dozen plumbers, and mostly just left messages or got emergency service fee estimates of hundreds of $$ before a problem would even be fixed. After thinking we were just going to have to deal with it for a day or pay the extra $$, Josh, from Able Rooter called. He said he could be out a little later in the day, and then called back a bit later saying he was running ahead of schedule, and came early. He fixed our drain problem at the exact quoted price, and even took a look at an additional plumbing issue for a small added fee.

HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone looking for any drain/plumbing service at a very reasonable cost.

I can't say enough about Tom and how impressed I am with his business ethic! We have a problem with a clog in our basement. Unfortunately, because the pipe is located behind a wall, he is unable to access it for us. Not only did he give me recommendations on another company to call, he gave me the options we have and wrote down exactly what the problem is so I at least sound like I know what I'm taking about when I call the other company:) On top of that, he did not charge for the house call. I couldn't believe it, it seems like people and businesses just don't make those kind gestures anymore. Came home from work and found the clog sink in the kitchen. I knew I had to get it fixed quickly because I would be away from home the next two days. I looked online and found all of the great ratings that Able Rooter had. I called and spoke to Tom he asked if I could schedule for the next day and I explained why I couldn't. He said no problem he would be there within two hours. 45 minutes later Tom is pulling into my driveway. The roof is wet but Tom is still willing to climb a ladder and snake my drain from the roof vent. I couldn't ask for a more professional and thorough Plumbing support. 30 minutes later my drain is clean and Tom is on his way home or at least I hope he is on his way home and not off to another emergency call. Great job very professional well done... Thank you!

Tom from Able Rooter was great. He was at my house within 24 hours of me calling about a clogged kitchen sink. He let me know when he was on his way and was on time. He explained everything and was happy to answer my questions. In and out within an hour. He made sure everything was kept clean and that everything was in proper working order before he left. I can't imagine where to begin with Able Rooter. I have been using Able Rooter for quite some time. The call to the plumber is never a good thing but the professionalism and courtesy that I receive makes it a good thing. Tom is awesome!!!!

Called able rooter and Thomas was able to come out the same day. Thomas was very helpful and fixed my drain problem that night. I have used other drain services before that have charged me two times in a single visit - to go from in the house to the outside and vice versa. Thomas was able to assess the cause of my clogged drain and fix it without the need for two services. Greatly appreciated!!! He was also professional and courteous in that he encouraged me to follow up if my problem came back. Thomas came to my home late in the evening, did not rush the job, and was happy to address any follow up issues. That amounts to great customer service so I will definitely rely on Able Rooter in the event I have any other issues. Finally, and most significantly, Thomas kept my rug and floor clean as he was going in and out of my home. Very respectful. I had a great experience and certainly will use Able Rooter again.

We came home from vacation to find our basement drain overflowing. I followed Yelp's recommendation and called Tom, who showed up within 2 hours just like he said he would. Tom fixed our problem, tested the fix by pouring over 40 gallons of water down the drain, and explained what had caused the problem. I'm one very satisfied customer!

I had a clogged basement drain which could not be cleared by snaking. It was suggested I get Hydro-Jet service. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I chose Able Rooter. They quoted me three prices. $375.00 to clear with a snake, $650.00 to Hydro-Jet the clogged line and $750.00 if it was the main line. I thought a bit pricy but you get what you pay for.

Tom was there in 1.5 hours. Immediately said it was a main line obstruction as there was sewage that I could not tell until he showed me the toilet paper. He set-up the Hydro-Jet equipment and cleared the main line in 30 seconds. He then used his line camera to make sure the line was clear, cleaned-up the mess in the basement and left. Within 45 minutes he was gone.

I understand $750.00 is pricy but I got serviced in 45 minutes. It's like the guy that went to fix a million dollar machine, saw the problem, tapped the machine with his hammer and it was fixed. He charged $25,000. They asked about the price. He explained the hammer was $5.00, the labor was $50.00 and the knowledge what to do was $24,950. Same here. Friendly, fast and got the job done. Use them, you won't be sorry.

Tom did a great job in getting all the tree roots out of our sewer line. He arrived in a timely manner and he was very courteous and professional. We would use him again.

At 7:30 am, I was surprised to get a real person on the other end of the line. Tom was able to work me in to his busy day, texted me when to expect him, showed up 30 minutes early, and was finished fixing the problem in less than an hour. A routine fix at what I consider a very fair price.

Good communication is the sign of a great business in my book and Able Rooter excels at it. Tom even texted me to thank me for my business when he left. I hope I don't need them again, but if I do, they are the company for me. Highly recommended!

My sewer backed up, flooding my basement on Friday prior to Memorial day weekend. I needed a clog removed, so I looked online and found Able Rooter. Being a small business owner myself, I know you have to provide excellent service to be rewarded with such great customer reviews. The reviews didn't lie. Tom was here quicker than expected, assessed and resolved the problem quickly and at his normal rate. Many companies would have a weekend or after hours rate. Tom is an honest, respectful guy and really knows his business. I would and will recommend him to anyone I know who needs his services. Unfortunately I experienced a sewer backup in a four family building that required immediate attention. I had used Able Rooter before on a different service and recalled the pleasant experience.

For this episode, I was seeking the hydro jet cleaning and camera inspection in order to evaluate my options.

Able Rooter meet me at the location and worked swiftly. The camera inspection put my fears to rest about the condition of the lateral sewer line and the hydro jet cleared and cleaned the lateral sewer line.

These guys were pleasant, appeared in clean uniforms, had clean updated equipment, and were on time!

Very great service at an affordable price. Weekend rates are same as weekday which is very good considering most places over charge for emergency service

I called Tom at 4:45 for a backup in my main drain and he was out within 2 hours. He snaked my drain all the way to the street. He was very friendly and professional, top notch service! I followed up with him via text later that night and he responded promptly. Although the service cost more than the providers I've previously used, I greatly appreciated his responsiveness, professionalism, thoroughness and personality.

Very pricey. We called them out to root out the main sewer line which we agreed to pay $150. They were honest about the issue, informed us it not the main but the auxiliary pipe from the floor drain and over. It literally took him 10 minutes yet it still cost us the same.

Called Able Rooter after the holiday weekend for a sewer backup. Tom answered promptly at 8am and was at the house by noon. He and Mike were both polite and knowledgeable. They not only explained but also showed me the problem. After the repair, Tom explained what my next steps should be in terms of preventative maintenance. Highly recommended.

I called Tom at 8PM on a Saturday because my main drain was clogged and backing up into my finished lower level. By 9:30PM my main drain was flowing again. He explained where and what the problem is...neighbor's tree roots...and will send me reminders when it's time to trim the roots again.
