These guys are criminals using a plumbers web site to steal. Charged me $7000. for an hours work. it took me a year and a half through small claims court to get half my money back.

one star is for the price. I basically wasted $50 to get the guy out to give me a $1900 quote for a sink clogged. Instead, I went to home depot and rented a snake plumber, which cost me only $70. Don't be fooled by their $50 special, you'll basically going to get charged an arm and a leg. I'm very disappointed how they are charging all these helpless people $1900. I recommended you buy homesmart insurance through excel energy and pay only $6 monthly in case there's a plumbing problem and they'll cover all costs. thanks

I was surprised to see all the negative reviews for Dean's. We signed up for their membership this year and have had pretty good experiences with all of their technicians who have been thorough in their inspections of our furnace (Brandon), plumbing (Matthew), and AC (Adam) systems. They have provided detailed photo and written documentation of their inspections and explained everything clearly without being pushy at all about other services that they could offer. We are scheduling a duct cleaning with them for later this month. I do wish that their service windows were tighter (rather than 8am-6pm) but they do a decent job of calling beforehand to give a half hour heads up so I can still get my errands done during the day.

The technicians are great but watch out for the flat rate pricing. My water heater pilot light was out and I needed a new gas valve (which is a common problem it seems). The part was under warranty but they charged $900 for the labor to install a new one. Without the warranty they said it would have been $1600. However, the job takes a half hour (and there aren't ever any complicating factors, according to the technician). The replacement part certainly costs less than $800 (probably just over $100 from what I can tell). Leaves you wondering where their high pricing comes from.

We had a wonderful experience with Brad from Dean's Professional Plumbing. Brad did all the rough in and finished plumbing for our business, White Bear Meadery. It was a big project that other plumbing companies turned down but Brad made quick work of it with his years of plumbing experience. Would highly recommend Brad from Dean's Professional Plumbing for any of your plumbing needs. Thank you Brad for all your hard work! It was pleasure working with you. SKÅL!
Don't waste your time with this company. I needed to replace an A/C unit and was also interested in potentially replacing my furnace. I scheduled an appointment to get a quote for the project. Dean's can only provide a 4 hour window. They did not show the first day and bumped me to the next day. The next day they were also a no show and wanted to bump me once again. I wouldn't recommend doing business with any company that cannot meet their promises to customers. I learned from the company that they prioritize existing customers over new customers and will bump them from the schedule even if they have made a commitment to them. I wouldn't trust any company that doesn't keep their word.
Had all the water shut off valves replaced in my house- well paid to. They skipped the one behind the fridge and then had to call them back because they screwed up hooking up the hot and cold water for the washer. No one apologized- just said I didn't have to pay the service charge because it was their error. Didn't make me feel comfortable calling them again

The absolute worst company in Minnesota.
Will add details and proof later when I edit this- trust me...they are the worst.

Had Deans out for water problem was told that water softener exploded. Was billed $6,400 dollars to fix the problem. After spending a full day dealing with Brandon and his assistant was told that everything was fixed. Guess what????? It was not. The toilet they rebuilt in the main bath was running constantly and flushing continually, the master bedroom shower had no water pressure at all, and the new faucet in the main bath basically dribbled water. When I called and told them it was unexceptable, we were scheduled after the weekend even though they did the job on Wednesday--we had to wait until the following Monday for them to come back. When he showed up he said he the toilet needed a new rubber flapper inside the tank, he said he would have to charge me $266 for this piece. I went to Home Depot and paid $4.98 for the rubber flapper and reached in and installed it in less than 2 minutes. Seriously, I expect to pay for service but I would have thought that rebuilding a toilet would have included the rubber stopper the first time. I'm sorry but seriously, isn't $266 a highly inflated price??????? DON'T CALL THESE PEOPLE AND DONT USE THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE JUST RIP OFF ARTISTS!!!!!!
Do not hire. Hired Dean's to help me while remodeling my home. Plumbing and electrical. The staff was friendly and they appeared reliable. On the second job I hired them for, I purchased their club membership program. Which allows for free in-home consultations and inspections. They called me to schedule an inspection on my plumbing. They called the evening of and canceled. They wanted to reschedule for June. I said sure. They never replied...
I hired them again to fix a leaking drain on my sink. They called an hour before the scheduled visit to cancel. The staff was rude and condescending over the phone. I had used vacation from work to be present for the repair. When complained about my inconvenience, the girl on the phone became snarky. I'm a busy person (like most adults) and it is important to not be jerked around. Time is money...Once they get your money, they don't seem to care about you. I wouldn't trust the company. The guys I met were nice, but they are a mess. Over priced, unprofessional, unorganized-and unreliable. $3000 for 15 feet of gas line and 3 outlets installed. You'd think they would care about their customers.
I have a simple clogged pipe in the sink. when I asked how much to snake the drain over the phone they refused to give me an estimate or ball park number. when they came out, after only running the water to see it's not draining they gave me a price of over $500 just to snake the drain. the national average is between $150 -$200 so I told them to leave and had to pay the $49 travel fee.
I feel like I was roped into paying the $49 fee or be a sucker and pay 4x what I should pay to simply snake a drain. I should dispute the fee because they refused to give an estimate over the phone but I have better things to do.
Look, I don't know how one more negative review of these people is going to make a difference, but for what it's worth, they're pushy, condescending, and keen to make as much money off you as they can. They insisted that my main sewer line was blocked badly enough that it needed excavation. When I mentioned that another company suggested just trying to get the line cleaned again, they got downright hostile: You're BLOCKED. As far as I'm concerned this is damaged pipe! Oh, and my favorite: I don't know HOW you're not already backed up. (Sir, do you think I'm...lying to you about not being backed up?? Nah, you're just trying to make me nervous.) I got a regular cable cleaning from Cardinal Services, which cleared out the tree root culprits and confirmed my pipe is in totally fine shape. Try at least one specialized local company before you resort to Dean's.

Overly aggressive and dishonest sales person (Ray R), poor quality installation of my hvac that left the gas line obstructing the bottom panel so it can't be fully serviced without removing the gas line, overcharged thousands of dollars for the lowest quality product. Avoid Dean's, I'd give them less than 1 star if that was an option.
Edit: they responded to my google review and asked me to call them but all they did was waste more of my time. After telling me they were unable to pull up the pricing information for the hvac unit they sold me they assured me they gave me a fair price but the exact same units are available at retail prices, including delivery, for many thousands of dollars less than I was charged even including the discounts I was offered. Do not hire Dean's, they will take advantage of you and then pretend to care about your concerns while giving you the run around.
Called to get a quote on re wiring a home that I just purchased. Was on hold forever before I got someone live. Then they couldn't do anything but take my number and have someone call me back. A young lady called me back that spoke a million miles an hour from a script. I asked for lead times on how far out their services are and she just kept repeating the same script over and over again. I asked for a manager to call me and never got a call back. if this it what it takes just to get someone to answer a few simple questions, I can imagine what their service is like. No thanks. I'll take my business elsewhere.

STAY AWAY!! WORST COMPANY we dealt with. If I could give Deans Home services a negative 5 that may not be enough.
We got a quote to rewire our house. We had not one but two almost hour long appointments to go over everything we needed done. Quoted $25,000 for their deluxe electrical package.
When the crew arrived they claimed they did not know what needed to be done so we walked them through everything yet a 3rd time. This time they wrote it on the studs/walls.
Halfway through the job they wanted $5K more & when realized they won't be able to squeeze out the $, they abandoned the job!! We had to hire another electrician to not only finish but recheck all of Deans work and undue some of their incorrectly wired lines!!
Deans damaged our fireplace box & is trying to force us to use their contractor to fix it. As of today, they did not resolve this issue.
Deans home services will say anything to get you to sign the contract & mid job claim more$ is needed for an issue they found.
I'd hate to have you go through the headache we went through. Don't use Deans.
Had Dean's out for routine furnace inspection. Charge was over $400, which should have been a clue that I was in for a ride.
The furnace is 15 years old and the tech explained that it is nearing the end of it's life expectancy. He pulled out a couple of parts (flame sensor and circuit board) and said they should probably be replaced soon. He also said the blower motor should be replaced. The estimate was $2207! He said furnace replacement would run about $4300. Replacement seemed to make sense, based on the parts costs, so I scheduled an appointment for the following day for a replacement cost estimate.
My brother has been in management at several major HVAC corporations for 35 years. I sent him a copy of the estimates. He told me I was being cheated! The flame sensor is a $10 part, yet charge was $335. Circuit board runs about $100, yet charge to replace was $844! Blower motor runs $100, yet replacement charge was $1028! The first 2 items were VERY easily removed. I suspect the blower motor would take a bit more effort.
The next day a guy came over from Dean's to give an estimate on furnace replacement. He suggested doing both furnace and A/C at the same time. The estimate was over $10,000! When I balked, the estimate gradually went down until finally levelling off at $7300 if I had the work done 2 days later!
I wrote an email to Dean's stating that I thought the estimates were outrageous and that I felt I was being taken advantage of because of my age and gender (I am a 74 yr old widow). The manager told me this is not true, that the prices are standard for this area and then abruptly ended the conversation!
ZERO STARS! TERRIBLE! We had a plumbing emergency and the response was reasonably quick, but everything went downhill immediately. They couldn't figure out what was wrong for hours and during the course of their investigation, they cut our power (which we didn't have for days) and then the electricians they eventually sent left scuffs and mud all over our walls and floors. On top of this, and despite the fact that we discussed it with them beforehand and they were well aware we were using insurance, they refused to give us an itemized receipt (which most insurers require), which meant we were out thousands of dollars. DO NOT USE!!! IT WILL BE ONE OF THE WORST MISTAKES YOU EVER MAKE!!! Also, they get you to sign up for a probably illegal program to save money, which is an auto-renewal deal that doesn't contain a notice provision so you cannot actually cancel. If not completely illegal, it is still 100% shady.
Housing inspector said we needed to replace about 6 feet of venting pipe for a dryer. Needed to use a licensed plumber. Deans came out and quoted $950 !!! The job would involve 2 guys for a couple of hours....there would be supplies needed, like tape.... The guy could hardly keep a straight face talking to my son about the job - apparently smirking the whole time. I would tell anyone who needs a licensed company to call ANYBODY else!!!!
Service providers were good. on time, health conscious.
Received a promo offer - sign up to receive information on us on Instagram. Show the offer to your service provider to get $50 off.
Spoke with Ari, CS Manager. She advised that since I failed to show it to the service guy- I couldn't get. I pressed her.
She advised that the issue was too petty to take to the manager/leader of the org. Not sure if Ari understands how tight people's budgets are.
Spent 1/2 pay check with them.
Her sarcasm was undeniable.
We are still going back and forth with deans due to not putting the shower accessories on correctly. In addition they were supposed to replace the parts with the same quality and the stuff they brought looks like it was used and bought from the dollar store. They refuse to give an itemized receipt for services and then say the new one we bought to replace the crap one they will potentially refund- when asked why they won't refund instead the one they brought over they won't answer that which leads one to believe that they are charging about $400 for an $50 item. The one we bought was $200 so that crap/ junk one they are obviously charging more money for. They refuse to state what the one cost. You can never directly get ahold of anyone to deal with the issue- I work often 7 days a week and from before they are open until after they are closed so a direct number for a quick call would be great- They refuse that as well. I will add more later when I get a chance- JUST STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!
$6,300 for a residential water heater? I don't think so! Avoid this rip-off company.
The tankless water heater Dean's insisted we needed (because it was going to be challenging to vent a standard one the way our old water heater was vented) was going to cost us $5,994. The highest price we could find online for the same model is $1,600 from plumbing supply stores. When we realized the big price discrepancy, we asked for a breakdown of Dean's $5,994 price for the water heater. They said they can't provide that information. After 5 minutes of research, we suspected we were getting totally ripped off.
We cancelled our install appointment immediately and contacted a couple other local licensed home services companies for estimates. Both came out and spent time looking at our basement and venting. Both said Dean's was ripping us off, and we don't even need a tankless water heater as there is no issue with the venting. We got a power vent water heater installed for $2,500 ($4,000 LESS than what Dean's was going to charge us! Even if we had needed a tankless, why were they charging several thousand $ more than it costs?)
Sadly, we still paid Dean's $1,000 for the four hours they spent seeing if a new thermal couple would fix old water heater and eventually giving us their ripoff estimate. We still came out ahead by almost $3,000 by going with someone else.
In addition to price, the other part of the experience that was noticeably different with Dean's was how slick and salesy it felt compared to the other home services companies.
