Main Drain Sewer & Repair

We called main drain to fix our sewer line in our basement. Not only did they do a great job, their estimate was about half of another plumbing company.

I called again today about a frozen sink drain. Shawn, the owner, had a plumber out to my house within an hour. It's good to have a plumber that you can count on!

Sean Toma and Matt are honorable people who did a fantastic job which is hard to come by.  They jack hammered through the floors and subsequently hand dug over 6 ft down in the house to replace our collapsed lines.  Many thanks to their team and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for professional plumbers that work diligently.  Great work!

Unacceptable customer service will never go with this company! Advise others to stay away!

I was VERY please with the quick response time Sean gave me, since I had never used his company before. I called him at 1:45 and he showed up by 3:00.  It didn't take him long to open my main drain which had just gotten clogged only a few hours earlier. I would definately recommend him.

This company is very knowledgeable, reliable, and reasonable prices. I would recommend main drain for any plumbing needs. Have used several times and never a disappointment

I spoke with 5 other guys and no one could come out and the cost was way overpriced.  Main Drain said no problem, came out at 5:30, about an hour after my call and was done in 30 minutes.  Great service at a great price.  I'm lucky I found them.

I wish my review could be as positive as the others.  My sewer was backing up into my basement.  Main Drain came out to attempt to clear up the drain.  It was getting late by the time they partially cleared the problem. The owner promised they would come back the next day to finish the job.  (However I am the idiot who gave them money for a job partially done.  Call me over-excited  that my family of 5 could shower without flooding our basement.)  

I have texted and called back and forth with Sean since May 14 (today is May 28).  He keeps promising to come or to send someone to help, and then nothing.  My sewer is backing up again, I am out $125, and I still have to pay someone else to come back out to finish the job.  So disappointed.

Apparently I am the only person with a bad experience.  If you go with this company I hope your experience is better than mine.

UPDATE:  Sean contacted me within a few hours of my review.  His team came out and cleared up the problem later that day.  I can confidently change this review from 1 star to 3 stars, given that the company did eventually respond and get the job done.

Their sub contractor Jays Plumbing came out.  Changed pricing and the work to be performed and said no warranty which I was quoted over the phone.  He didn't snake out to the street.  Don't tried to tell me it was after hours work, but it was before 5.  Wanted more money.  Avoid both!  Zero stars.

I am very disgusted by this company! My grandma had them come out to fix a pipe in our basement two of the guys working on it broke the cap to our drain. My grandma had called to let them know so that it could be fixed and Sean was beyond rude, screamed at her and wouldn't let her get a word in and was completely unprofessional!! I would NEVER recommend this place to anybody! If I could give them zero stars I would.

We have used Main Drain several times over the years as those who live in Berkley know, the numerous tree roots and older infrastructure cause issues. Every time, Sean and his team have been very professional. They are quick to respond and have gone above and beyond to fix things - even coming over on short notice after regular work hours.

Sean's team are more than just professional, they are good people. They are easy to talk to and are willing to explain all the details of the problem, potential solutions, and how to prevent it from reoccurring. We have a finished basement where our kids routinely play so they took extra care in how they worked down there.

We would highly recommend them to anyone!!

I had a pretty tough situation at my house. A plumbing contractor had broken a sewer pipe and storm tile and left me hanging with raw sewage running into my basement. Sean and his crew were able to identify the problem and fix it for me in difficult even, at times, unsafe conditions. He was honest, stuck to his price and did what he said he would do. He is my go-to plumber for any future problems.

After a sewer line inspector scoped my line, I needed to hire someone to clean the line and put a camera through. I called another company that couldn't do it for a week. I found Main Drain online and when I asked about timing, they said, We'll be in Berkley this afternoon. Will that work? They were efficient, informative, problem solvers. Total professionals, and if I need the work to be done, I'm hiring them!

Sean and John are AWESOME. After calling 3-4 places, Sean was the ONLY one who could do the same day cleaning. He and John came, ready to rock, even after 9pm. They were in and out in less than an hour, and everything was taken care of. I had some cleanouts that the previous owner buried so he had to go through one that was in a tight fit corner. They knocked it out clean and efficiently. He gave me some recommendations to go with in the future - I will definitely be using him and recommend to anyone!

I called Main Drain last week to get my sewer line cleaned out and Sean was able to come out first thing the very next morning.  He did a very thorough job and did a good job cleaning up at the end.  He also found the time to take a look at couple other issues I was having and fix those.  And his price was very affordable compared to other quotes I got.  I will definitely call Main Drain the next time I need a plumber.

I used this wonderful company in December 2020, when the main sewer line failed at our second home.  They were half the price of the major name companies in the area... And 10 times more respectful and considerate.  

Well, today I needed their services again at my primary residence and was blown away once again by thier professional services and consideration.  They are a family business that care about you.  They resolved my internal line problem with a water jet cleaning, camera inspection and resolution of another issue they discovered.  So happy I called them for the job, now everything is working as it should.  The initial blockage was quickly resolved, but they were persistent and thankfully so.  

You can't go wrong with this company.  They let me view the camera, explaining everything we saw, and was very respectful.

The contractor missed several appointments and left material around work site that I needed to clean up myself. customer service is severely lacking and in need of repair.  Their workers are competent and once they perform the work it is functional and adequate. the trick is getting them to make appointments at all.  I advise they be used for the big jobs but from what I observed do not call them for the small stuff because they will not show up or leave you hanging.  Apparently, they don't need the money by their attitudes toward customers, so let's help them get their wish and find another plumber.

Not sure if they've gone out of business but I've contacted them numerous times to get a sewer repaired or replaced based on these positive reviews and they have responded and then disappeared when they told me they'd call.  This has happened on 3 occasions.  I wanted to use them since my neighbor did last year (work was great as well as the price according to them).  If you are overbooked and can't fit me in that's fine, just say that.  But they never did so I'm assuming they're out of business.
