On a Thursday night, I submitted for a quote to install a new kitchen faucet and an under-the-sink water filtration system. First thing in the morning on Friday I had a message from Travis who then was able to schedule the work for the following Monday.

The work was done efficiently and well. Within a couple of hours, everything was completed and the area was fully cleaned up. Travis was extremely clear in his explanations of all the work he did, and also extremely clear about the work he would do at the outset. We're thrilled with the end result and so happy we connected with Shepherd & Sons (and Travis in particular)!

We now have found our new go-to plumbers in the area! Couldn't be happier. These guys are great - highly recommend them!!

They responded to our urgent request on a weekend when no one else would. We had a ruptured pipe and they fixed it up right away. We ended up having them put in 3 new hose faucets as well. They were courteous and explained everything they were doing. Definitely our go to plumber from now on!

These guys were great! I used Yelp to get matched for a main pipe repair connecting to my upstairs sink, and I knew going into this project it may be costly because you had to open up a wall to access the pipe, but I already dealt with two other people who barely looked into the problem and couldn't fix it (one of which repaired something completely unrelated costing me an unnecessary extra $500). They were the first company to respond to my repair request, they scheduled a time to come out right away (same week), came within the window of time they gave me, was transparent with me the whole time (even sending me pics while I was at work)-and most important of all-THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM! My only critique was that when they opened the wall, they don't put it back together- that threw off guard so I had to get someone else to put it back together. All in all I'd hire them again!

Travis provided us with exceptional service - he was kind, efficient, and very helpful, even when circumstances required him to make multiple trips after our water heater was delivered damaged. He returned the old one, picked up the replacement, installed it quickly - even brought my brother a cup of coffeee. Truly above and beyond great customer service!

He was able to accomodate my last minute request and we were his 1st appointment the following day.
Travis was able to quickly determine the source of our dishwasher's leak and advised on how to best resolve the issue. The fee for the site visit was more than fair, and Travis was a true professsional from beginning to end.

Our water heater was failing and I reached out via Yelp for a quote. They had Travis come out the very next morning to come take a look. I can't tell you how much I appreciated that he was wearing a mask AND gloves! Since it's a profession where you travel between different people's homes, I was very glad he was taking precautions for himself and the customers.
Travis was way more thorough than any other HVAC or plumber I've had in my home previously, and he walked me through everything he observed. He gave me 3 quotes the same day on the spot. I talked it over with my husband and we decided to get the 40-gallon, 10-year warranty gas water heater with an automatic shut-off valve. It took just a few hours to install and clean up. He left the place spotless like he never was even here. I'd 100% use Sheperd & Sons in again the future!

Travis was outstanding when he came to fix my two water heaters. Arrived on time, was very professional, and made the whole experience easy. I just let him work and I didn't worry about anything, then he called me to down and we tested the hot water around the house.

Travis was an absolute pleasure to work with. From the beginning, he was sure to communicate clearly what the repair would entail, went over what he found when diagnosing our leaky toilets, and got the job done quickly.

He did point out that further replacements would be needed down the road, and walked us through how we might need to navigate the repairs, given that our property is part of a condo association.

He has even gone as far as advocating for these repairs to our association's maintenance group on our behalf!

Amazing service! Came in immediately for a free estimate on an outdate faucet issue. Diagnosed the issue so fast and even pointed out potential other issues with our downstairs sink due to poor installation in our newly purchased home. Sent us a quote, 2 proposals and even advised us with an inventory and all work was done in under 3 hours. We cannot be happier and excited to work with them for updating our other bathrooms.

We had a lot of random plumbing issues - 2 broken faucets, leaking toilet, stuck valves and Travis came right away. He was thorough with his assessment and estimate and was able to come 2 days later to address all of it.

I always appreciate the responsiveness of Shepard and sons, their detailed explanations,  and offering multiple solutions to the problem. Also, the technicians are always so polite and friendly.

We called Shepherd & Sons to help us diagnose and ultimately replace a leaking faucet. They were very responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. They showed us areas where the existing faucet was corroded indicating that a repair would be unwise and that it needed to be replaced. They gave us several options and allowed us to choose one within our budget. The repair/replacement was ultimately performed the same day at a price that seemed appropriate. We were very pleased.

We purchased a 175-year-old-fixer-upper. The first thing we needed to tackle was the plumbing. We had everything from broken sinks to broken and corroded pipes.

We received six quotes, all with wildly different ranges. Several were only for part of the work. Travis came for a free home inspection and looked at everything so he could give us a number. He explained everything that needed to be done as well as things that didn't need to be done right away, and showed us things we needed to monitor.

We moved forward on making the necessary repairs. He and his apprentice were here on time, they were both so nice - and they were here all day. They managed to get everything done even though they ran into problems. They did high quality work and explained what they had done in detail. They cleaned up afterwards and took all the trash with them.

We recommend them! And we will have them back after we get more of the needed stuff done in other areas, so we can to some wanted things.

I noticed an issue with my water heater and reached out to schedule an appointment. Travis got back to me in a timely fashion to get me on their schedule. When he arrived, Travis spend an hour evaluating the problem and explaining some options. He provided pricing in an emailed quote later that day. During the actual service/replacement, Travis was well organized and efficient. I really appreciated his professionalism. I would highly recommend!

Called for shower head and got it fixed quickly and received great service !

Called on Sunday, got the problem checked Monday &  resolved on Tuesday. Second time & again received great customer service and a few options to fix my problem which I appreciate. Will make my go-to 10/10!

I requested a quote on several things:
1) replace toilet
2) replace vanity & faucet
3) route drain hose from dehumidifier to outside
4) re-route washing machine drain farther away from foundation

Plumber came to examine, gave thorough explanation of work required. Seemed very knowledgeable.

I received an estimate with an accurate, detailed description of the work required ... and a total price: $4,316   (which seems pretty high to me), but no breakdown. I replied asking for a breakdown so I could understand the price quoted.

Their reply: There is really no breakdown of costs. This is the overall price for labor, cost, and materials. If you would like to seperate the tasks into invidivial projects, that is something that can be done as well.

Assuming they didn't pull $4,316 out of thin air, the first two sentences seem either nonsensical or disingenuous -- and contradicted by the third sentence, which was what I had asked for in the first place!

I responded yes, please... and never heard back from them.

They may be technically knowledgeable, but this certainly doesn't inspire trust....

We had Travis come to our new house for what seemed like a minor plumbing job. It turned out to take most of the day and he did outstanding work. He was very communicative in explaining our options and worked hard for several hours longer than originally expected. We would absolutely have him back next time there is an issue.

We had an issue with our toilet leaking. Travis from Shepherd was responsive, gave me updates on his arrival time. When he arrived he walked me through the issue, then worked hard to fix the issue on the spot despite going well past quitting time. Cost was less than half the price Winters quoted me. Travis was awesome and I would absolutely use them again.

Contracted for a shower that wouldn't run hot.  Plumber misdiagnosed the problem and performed unnecessary work, leaving me with a $1100 bill and the original problem.  Would not recommend.

I texted through yelp they said they could come out Tuesday (4/19). I said Tuesday would work. They never gave a time frame when they would be coming. Someone came out  to my house and claimed they knocked on the door and left a message. I didn't hear a knock. They left their business card I called twice no one answered. The answering message said text them. They said they could reschedule when they got a free minute. Never got call back about rescheduling.

Shepherd & Sons was great. We asked for a quote to hook up a water line to our fridge and to hook up a gas line to our stove (neither existed before). The quote was reasonable, and service was quick & on time. A pleasure to work with!

These guys are extremely disappointing. They responded quickly first and even came out to check out the job. They said they would send an estimate that same evening. We messaged them when we didn't receive it, understanding that it might have been the holiday. They mentioned we would have it following Monday. Still no quote. We followed up again, they said we would have it that evening. No quote. They said they would call me at lunch to discuss, I received no phone call. I tried calling and never got a call back. They mentioned again that I would have it by the end of the week. Have not heard a word from them.  Not sure what's going on over there or why they can't do what they say they are going to do, but I was hopeful and very disappointed in the end.

Travis helped us install a new Toto low flush toilet and heated bidet seat this winter. It's been life changing to have a clean, functional toilet in an old building--Travis's service was fast, kind, and informative through each step. He was especially knowledgeable in dealing with old plumbing infrastructure and gave tips on affordable Home Depot fixes for things we could do ourselves.

Travis was responsive, easy to communicate with, timely, professional, and friendly; provided a free estimate, explained plan thoroughly, then immediately replaced our old leaking valve. Thank you!

They showed up at 7:00 AM to do an estimate, saying I had confirmed on Yelp. I had only told them I would be home in the morning. I never heard back so hired someone else. He insisted I had confirmed, and when I said that I had hired someone else already, he became all sarcastic.

We discovered that we had an issue with our toilet in the morning and when we reached out, Travis responded within 10 minutes and was able to take a look that very morning. He did a great job in explaining the different options to resolve the issue along with the scope of work and costs.

Once we decided on a path forward, he got right to work and had us up and running by early afternoon; would definitely use him for future services!

Travis the technician is as amazing as the other reviews have stated. Great attention to detail, personable with clear explanations, the range of options provided onsite made sense. I followed the option that was best for me and he came back as scheduled. There was a problem with the new lines on the new faucet I had purchased - they were not long enough to complete the installation. For a fair price Travis went and purchased them and finished the installation. No surprises, excellent work, would definitely hire again. Highly recommend.

We needed to replace faucets and garbage disposal and to get it done ASAP. Travis and the team responded quickly and took on the project even though it turned out to be bigger than anticipated. Travis hit up the supply store multiple times to get the necessary parts as the project got more complicated and managed to get it done in one day. We'd definitely recommend the company going forward and intend to use them for projects.

Travis came and fixed our toilet in one day and let us k ow what else we need to do. He was fast to always reply to any questions that we had. He was great. He first said the job will take two days, but he was able to get everything done in one day.

I had a great experience with Shepherd & Sons. My shower was leaking and they were able to send someone out the same week. Travis responded to my query within a few minutes and he was helpful during the whole process. He contacted me several times with updates and when they would arrive to do the repair. Their pricing is quite reasonable and I am very happy with the quality of the shower repair.

Needed a plumber to replace hot water heater.  Asked for assistance on Yelp.  Travis responded very quickly and was even able to provide a quote.   He came quickly and hustled.  

Work was excellent and he insured everything was working and we were happy.   Turns out his wife was in labor but not time to go to the hospital yet.  Wish him and his family the best and appreciate the quick help.

We needed a replacement water heater and Travis came by same day, provided a quote and scheduled the appointment for the replacement very quickly. He was thorough, explained our options and discussed what the best solution for our home was.

Within a few days he was back with the replacement device and he did a great job with the install and made everything in the house was working properly (pressure/temp/etc) prior to leaving.

Sink leaked.  He was very responsive and explained things in a way I understand.  He did an excellent job.

They don't come as we scheduled. This happened again and again. Unfortunately, I ended up waiting a month for service that never came.

Travis was exceptional in solving my bathroom sink and shower issues (related to draining issue and water flow issues, respectively)! I had requested a quote on Yelp for plumbing support and he was the first to respond within minutes, offering week of availability. Travis provided an arrival window when initially scheduling, and was extremely communicated his timing morning off. Upon arrival, he quickly assessed the situation, laying out all potential options, and offered to get to work on the looking into the two issues or potentially rescheduling for another day. During the same visit, he was able to remediate both  issues in under 2 hours (including multiple testing), as well as installing a new shower head for me! Would highly recommend Shepherd and Sons to anyone in need of immediate plumbing needs, and will definitely be using for any future needs (though hopefully won't have anytime soon)!

Travis at Shepherd & Sons Mechanical Services was amazing. Our tankless hot water heater started leaking and he identified the issue immediately. He worked with the manufacturer to identify any warranties, and saved me so much time and energy. Can't thank him enough.

Only giving this dude a 5 because 6 isn't an option. Came to our aid with a clogged toilet- got here quick, figured it out, went through the options, executed the option I selected and cleaned up and got out. Outstanding from beginning to end.

Travis provided excellent service in helping us replace our water heater. He was very responsive and timely.

I feel overpriced by the plumber this morning, $575 for a kitchen faucet replacement. I have a kitchen faucet leaking tiny bit occasionally (if I don't press hard down, it will leak), Stepherd plumber came and gave me three choices, one with their supplies and material, cost $893,  one with my supplies of the faucet, cost $375, another with their repair, cost $300, no guarantee. I said let's go option 3 first to see whether it is repairable, then if not, we replace it with a new faucet.  Mr Shepherd  said sure, he opened it, within 5 minutes, he told me it is not repairable, and I bought a new one, he replaced it. He asked for a charge of $675. I was surprised by the charge, I had thought that  it was a normal procedure that the plumber opens the faucet, takes a look, if it is not repairable, gets a new one. I don't expected that they would charge double labor fee on this. By the end I was really upset, Shepherd knocked $100 down and I paid $575. All his labor time is about 35 minutes, 7:15 am in the home, 7:20 went out, took him about 10 minutes to write down 3 options, 7:30-7:35 he took a look of the faucet and said that it was not repairable, I went out to buy the faucet at 7:40, 8:10 I am back, 8:30 he finished the work.
Per my understanding, if we go option 3, paid $300, Mr Stepherd repairs it, and it gets broken down again in couple days, then, Mr Stepherd could tell me that the repair has no guarantee, you need to pay me $375 for replace a new one, that would be totally understandable and acceptable, but not like that  he opened the faucet, checked it, tell me not repairable, then asked me $300 for this option, then $375 for replacing. People don't make money that easy, I felt upset and got ripped off on the new year day.

Travis was quick at responding to my urgent request at 7am!!! Who starts working at 7am????? Well, you can rely on Travis to get the work done on the same day. He was awesome and fixed two of my bathrooms and replaced one toilet! I will highly recommend him to my friends and families. After he fixed both bathrooms, he made sure to take out the trash before leaving. Thanks!!!

Travis responded to my Yelp request in a few hours to discuss the work needed.  I had a clogged sink in the kitchen which I was not able to resolve with commercial products or by using an auger.  Travis arrived promptly as scheduled; performed a walkthrough to clearly understand the problem; provided multiple options for the solution, inclusive of cost and expected work duration.  Ultimately, I chose to replace the PVC pipes beneath my sink, rather than just have Travis resolve the clog.  While the cost was higher than I expected for the work to be performed; Travis explained the work and the cost before work started.   Travis completed the work in the duration communicated.  The work was performed professionally; resolved the problem, and left the area very clean.  Given the overall experience, I would hire Travis again, for any needed future work.

We had a leak in bathroom and went on Yelp. Travis responded immediately and we conversed through messages and came to house for inspection, wrote up 4 options for us to consider. He came back the following day and completed the job.

We had a bit of an emergency but the team is reliable and knowledgeable. I appreciate that I was walked through what the issue was with multiple options. needed a lot of plumbing work done ! !    A guy named Travis came out and went over the whole house kitchen sink and bathrooms! He worked so hard to get a toilet and sink in one day.

He came to my home first thing in the morning! He explained everything to me and fixed the problem and he even answered my questions for other things I want done now I know who to call ! He was fast friendly and knowledgeable!

Contacted them at 9 pm for a leak... was at my door 7 am the next day. Very fast. Had corroded pipes and sink leaking into basement. Replaced piping and new kitchen sink. Work was done fast and was up and working 2.5 hours later. Gave me four different quotes in person before conducting work. Thanks!!

I contacted Shepherd & Sons about a gas valve replacement on a gas water heater. Owner, Travis, contacted me via email and suggested I request a new unit from the manufacturer, Reheem, as replacing the valve did not make sense. I  explained the unit's warranty had expired in June of this year, and Reheem was  only willing to replace the part. Travis reached out to Reheem, and much to my surprise, they agreed to replace the unit. Travis did not end up installing the unit as a friend offered to install the unit for less. I would contact this company again based on the customer service I received from the owner.

Shepherd and Sons installed a new laundry unit in our home and we couldn't be more happy with the outcome. Travis was outstanding, very friendly, and the job was done within a day. They worked well into the evening, above and beyond anyone we've hired in the past, and we will be using them for any future project we need complete. Great communication as well!

Outstanding service and accommodation. We had a very leaky sink. Travis S. moved his schedule around to fit us in. He diagnosed and addressed our problem quickly. When a supplier gave him a faulty pipe (not fault of Travis's) , he found a replacement immediately, spent extra time to complete the project, and did not charge us for the overtime. He was excellent.

Had a leak in my bathroom ceiling that appeared to be coming from another unit. Travis came in and quickly determined the leak's source, and fixed the issue (upstairs neighbors toilet) immediately same day. Would definitely give him a call again!

Travis came right on time and even walked me through my property to explain my plumbing system and to let me know of things I should take care of in the near future. He was great! We were getting a new countertop put in and the installers suddenly were able to squeeze us in earlier than expected so I didn't have a plumber lined up for the sink. I reached out and Travis was very fast to respond and came over to give me a quote that same day and helped me solve a small leak while he was there. When he came back to hook everything up, he did a great job. Our house is older and has some older parts that needed replacing so the job ended up being a bit bigger than anticipated but he did a great job and was very professional explaining the problem and solution but very low pressure.

Wanted to have a toilet replaced. Would've done it myself but HOA required a licensed contractor. Touched base with Travis, met up at my place, and received verbal quotes. Explained that I needed the quotes in writing so I could submit to my HOA for approval. I have a busy work schedule so I waited a week for a response. Reached out thru our primary method of contact, Yelp Messaging, and was informed that his wife recently gave birth. Asked that I wait until the following business day for a follow up. I gladly agreed that he should spend time with his family and that I would check up with him in another week. When the time came, I reached out once more and have not had a response since then. I would've been fine being told that they just simply didn't have the time to do this work at the moment and I'd move on to another contractor. Unfortunately, I ended up waiting over a month for service that never came and had to find another contractor to do the work.
