Johnson Bros. Plumbing & Drain Cleaning was established in 2008 the year after I graduated from Quincy High School. It was just Johnson Bros. Drain Cleaning back than. I was 19 and just starting my career as an apprenticed plumber and started working in the field during the summer after high school, 2007-2008 was the start of what we call the Great Recession today. I was looking for work and no one was hiring or willing to take a chance on a young apprentice right out of high school. I was working part time for my high school plumbing instructor helping him with his jobs but around December of 2007 he started to slow down alot and told me he couldn't keep me on anymore. He told me I should start my own company and that most plumbers around Massachusetts did not do drain cleaning. Looking back on it now I think he meant it more of a joke than he thought I was seriously going to do it. Fortunately I took what he said to heart and decided to take my first steps as a entrepreneur.

I’ve been the manager for about 6 years I took over once I saw the need for increased communication and more knowledge on caring for your homes plumbing system. While I live in Brockton Massachusetts my elderly mother-in-law in Dorchester desperately needed a plumber to fix a broken drain pipe and a clog problem in her home . I wish I could give this company more than five (5) since my mother in-law could not have been more happy and pleased with the service provided by Johnson Brothers Plumbing & Drain. She has found the only plumber she will call from this point on and her son in-law, would like to personally thank you. I cannot recommend Johnson Bros enough. Not only did they replace one tub drain that was in desperate need of help, but they were able to figure how to fix my ancient antique old tub filler that was leaking. They are clearly very talented, professional, and fair. I was amazed at how affordable they were and I fully intend to bring all future plumbing issues to them and to recommend them to anyone seeking plumbing help.

New hot water heater with a conversion to propane. Quick response time and very accommodating to my concerns. They came out and worked diligently and were very friendly and informative.
Sent me a quote online, arrived when he said he would, did quality work. Will hire again.
I unexpectedly ran into a problem installing my new bathroom vanity, sink, and water lines; so, my project came to a halt. I was calling around to see if a plumber could come over that day and replace my hot and cold water valves along with adding some copper piping and replacing my drain with a new one to connect to my sink, but no one was available. I called the Johnson Bros and they came over within 5 hours, examined my situation, gave me a temporary fix, then came back the next day and did the entire job for me from start to finish. They had awesome response time and were very easy to work with. I'd recommend them and I'd use them again myself.

Johnson Bros came out to install a toilet for me. They took the hassle out of the experience by picking up a new toilet and disposing of the old one. The new toilet looks great (Nate had a great suggestion for a new toilet) and is an enhancement to our bathroom. They did a great job installing it and their quote/final price was more competitive than any other plumber I had contacted. They also listed out the costs clearly. I appreciate their responsiveness and their professionalism.

I had a small job that I needed done (replacing a shutoff valve under a sink). I reached out to Johnson Bros and they were quick to reply, provided a quote in advance, and it was easy to schedule a time. I had reached out to other companies, but most of them required a visit for them to look at it before providing an estimate, which seemed unnecessary since it was a straightforward job - cut off the old valve and install a new one, no other problems to diagnose. I appreciated that Johnson Bros was willing to provide the estimate and then show up ready to complete the task. The plumber who was assigned our project was professional and efficient. He even shut the front door on his way back out (something that other contractors that we've had at the house somehow always seem to neglect, even in the middle of winter).

Johnson Bros is outstanding ! Nate and his team respond quickly, are efficient and affordable pricing. They not only repaired my water heater, they also graciously helped me navigate the cumbersome warranty process with the customer service team. I highly recommend Johnson Bros and plan to use them again in the spring for general maintenance.
They fixed several items for us and were reliable and the prices were amazing! They know what they are doing and the service was on time and professional! Thank you Nick and your assistant who fixed the sink but unfortunately I can't remember his name.

I didn't accept there offer of $289.00 to replace a flapper in my toilet.
Needed to get my old dishwasher removed and replaced. The Johnson Bros worked with my schedule, gave me a quote and stuck to it! They were very responsive and made me feel like a valuable customer. Will be referring them to anyone I know who need's plumbing services
We had a plumbing emergency the day after Christmas and were so glad to find Nate. He responded quickly and was friendly and professional. He answered our many questions about plumbing and even took a look at another non-emergency plumbing issue before leaving. He provided excellent service at a reasonable price.
I need to replace 3 toilets and I asked for quotes from several plumbing companies. Johnson Bros responded first and with the best price.
Nate showed up on time, was not rushed, very professional and respectful of our house.
One of the toilets was not suitable and he was very helpful and did not charge extra for lugging it up and down the stairs.
I recommend this company!
I had 2 outdoor spigots replaced as well as one indoor shutoff for one of them replaced. They were courteous and explained everything they were going to do. Will be hiring them again for a couple future projects, including replacing our hot water heater.
Nate was nothing short of exceptional from his initial response to completion of the project. I had an unexpected issue needing an immediate hot water tank replacement at a rental property. Not only did he do a great job but was empathetic, personable and professional throughout.
Highly recommend, he is now my go-to.
Great plumbers. I first used them for a no heat call and they came out on a weekend even though I wasn't an existing customer. Then I used them for a dishwasher install and a drain issue. Other drain companies never really solved my drain problem but they got to the root of the problem haven't had back-ups since. I highly recommend them.

Nate and his assistant did a great job installing a tricky single piece toilet and collaborated well with our joint effort to customize a drain assembly for a unique handmade metal sink. They are reliable, professional and good communicators. I highly recommend them.

Summary: Had what seemed to be a clogged drain turned into a major repair right before Thanksgiving. They were able to (as much as they could) help with coordinating with city and ultimately leading me to the real culprit.
I reached out to Johnson Bros. to see if they were able to help and quickly made an appointment for the next day. Nate was my point of contact the entire time and he was easy to reach keeping in mind that he's answering calls as well as on jobsites. I originally reached out to have a sewer drain unclogged, but quickly learned that there was a major obstruction in the sewer line and needed to get it replaced. Nate reached out to the city (Randolph) to make them aware as well as double check to see who's responsible for the replacement. It ended up being my responsibility to make the repair, but by doing this - it made it easy for the drain layer that I hired to quickly do the work. All of this was coordinated without me ever having to be at the property. I'd highly recommend considering Johnson Bros.!

I needed to install a couple of faucets in my tenants' apartment. Jahz did a great job. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and things went like clock work. The lady that took my call (I forget her name) was very pleasant and every step of the way I felt confident I was working with a good professional service and not a fly-by-night operation. Great service and indeed I will be using them again.
Our toilet was clogged and they found time that day to come and fix it for us. Very quick and responsive!

I had a small plumbing job and Nate was one of the first to respond via Yelp and offered a fair price. Communication was great. He was very professional and spent time answering some plumbing questions unrelated to the job I hired him for. I would recommend this company.

I needed a new toilet installed and reached out via Yelp to different plumbers for a quote for a new 12 standard toilet. Only Johnson Bros gave me a quote. The others all wanted to send out a rep first. What's up with that - it was such a simple routine project! Anyway, Nate scheduled me quickly, and my tenant said he was kind, communicative and professional. I will definitely use Johnson Bros again.

Called plumber to address clogged drain at tenant home. Agent who received call was responsive. Scheduling was automated and clear using text messaging system. Plumber repaired drain to satisfaction of tenant with bill that stated what was repaired. Flat rate seemed fair around mid 200s/hr. No complaints, would use again.
EDIT 4/19/23:
While service is fine, scheduling with the company is inefficient. For the 3 times I've reached out to them, only 1 out of 3 jobs was scheduled (the one mentioned above). You send a text and wait back for them to confirm. I did not hear back and would send them a text; they said they get back to me. Never did. If you are able to get a hold of them, great! If not, do not wait and find another equally capable plumber.

My refer me to Nate Johnson. He is amazing, my washing machine the water is backing up ,all over the floor .
I call Nate , he answered my phone call . I'm so happy, because now a day , no one answer you right away .
He is so kind and patient to answer all my questions and schedule appointment for me. The work is seamless. Professional and friendly.

Here is what happened, I requested a toilet reset due to there is some smell in my restroom. They said they could do it and made the reservation from 9 to 10. Firstly the plumber arrived around my area around 11. and after the plumber checked my toilet model about 15 min, he said he could not do that since he does not know how to do it, what he could only do is to put silicone around the toilet to do the caulking, and this could be a cheaper price since he actually did not do anything (that's exactly what he said to me). I agreed with to do that because I don't want make him already came over and spent time and being paid nothing. However, after made a call, he said the manager did not agree to charge a cheaper price, so he charged the same price as 249 for me.
So I paid 249 for some one come to do a silicon caulking which I could totally do my self and did nothing about plumbing or check any pipe.
And after this, they sent out follow up email about survey to ask about the service, I said I am not satisfied and they asked me about what happened, and never reply after I told them what happened.
Nate was able to come and complete the project all in the same day. He installed a new vanity, sink in an old stubborn house. He beat his competitor by half the price! Highly recommended and reliable.
BEWARE..I originally gave a 5 star rating & that was a big mistake..I had the guts changed in two toilets & was asked when he was leaving to give a review so I gave a 5 star not knowing both toilets were leaking. When I noticed I called & nobody answered I texted & nobody answered. I had to put a cup under each toilets shut off overnight, in the morning I called @ 8:15am he said he would be right over to tighten them before his first appt. I waited till noon and called no answer I texted he never got back to me. BEWARE
Once he took my money ($329.00)he would not respond to me. Gave a 1 star only because there isn't a zero star.
Now I have to pay another plumber to repair what he did.
Responsive, took care of the problem quickly and effectively. We had a main drain pipe issue that caused us not to be able to flush, he came quickly and fixed it for us.
Unbelievable customer service! Mr. Johnson was professional, and very knowledgeable. My garbage disposal was wrecked and had never worked correctly. After calling Johnson Bros the problem was fixed and is now working better than ever. Thanks soo much for your help. Highly recommend!
Nate Johnson and Jack showed up promptly when we had a drain emergency. Nate quickly diagnosed the problem and contacted DPW when he realized that the street sewer line was blocked and arranged for DPW to come out and clear the blockage. A potentially catastrophic situation was averted by Johnson Brothers' quick and professional service. Highly recommended.

Jahz did a great job installing an APEC water filter and fixing some poorly done DIY from the previous homeowners. He was punctual, the price ended up right around the initial quote, and he made sure to explain next steps for getting the water filter running. Definitely happy I went with this company instead of some of the others I reached out to, which were either not responsive or massively overpriced. Will be using Johnson Bros for future jobs for sure!
Nate came to fix my leaky pipe connection and he did it quickly! He did an excellent job!

Super happy with my project! I hired Nate to replace my boiler and water heater with a high efficient boiler tankless water heater combo after getting quotes from several companies. Nate was fast to respond. The price was fair and he helped me understand the project and ongoing maintenance.
Like any project, there were snags, a part on the boiler didn't work, the code changed on tubing and it was out of stock, Nate stayed on top of it and got it all done. I felt comfortable having Nate and his crew in my home.
I like that he has a lot of the scheduling automated so you get texts with the quotes, schedules, and when he's on his way. He helped me get the information I needed to submit for a Mass Save rebate.
And now I have a lot more room in my basement! I will hire Nate for future plumbing projects for sure.

Initially, I was very pleased with this company. They replaced a kitchen faucet (I purchased), and replaced a kitchen drain that had rusted. They replaced it with PVC.
These things were done in August. Fast forward to January, the drain was leaking. Tried to contact three times, finally sent a text. They came out to repair, completely redoing it. They tried to charge the same amount as before. It's now early February, and I have a leaky drain!
Fantastic service. Trustworthy, reliable and easy to work with. Helped us in a pinch after our water heater broke and extremely grateful!
The service was very good. Nate was very responsive and Jahz was sent for our bathroom sink repair. I would recommend their service anytime.

Literally waste of time. We scheduled a meeting, nobody showed up, no explanation, no attempt to reschedule. I say if you want a reliable contractor look elsewhere.
I bought a new stacked washer/dryer on Saturday morning, so I reached out to Johnson Bros to see if they could help disconnect the gas line from my existing dryer, redirect the gas line, and install the new machine.
Nate was the first to reply to my Yelp job request and shared his direct phone number. He gave prompt answers to my questions about pricing and whether he could do the work. I confirmed with him Monday morning at 8am and he said he could come by at 12pm, but got there even earlier at 11am. Job was done professionally and quickly.
He even stuck around to do an inspection of the other plumbing/HVAC systems in the house when he didn't need to.
Definitely don't hesitate to give these guys a call!

Would highly recommend - this is a great, honest, family-owned company. We had a cast iron toilet flange issue for a while. Nate and Jahz (our technician) came up with a creative solution to solve the problem - Jahz went to the store multiple times to try different pieces to see what worked. When there was a minor tweak needed after the installation, Jahz promptly scheduled another visit for the next day. Thank you Johnson Bros!
