*** RIP-off price, near SCAM *** I was going to give them business based on good google review. DO NOT use them, unless you really don't care how much it cost. All I wanted to do was to drill a 1 hole, and glue 4 length and 1 wide pvc pipe, then attached to a grummet that came with the washing machine drip tray. It would have been 10 minutes job (5 min. if you are quick), since I already marked where it needs to be drilled. They wanted to charge me $400 to do this job. If this is their price model, if you care about how much you would like to spend.. I would stay away from this business. I definitely will never consider them again. my loss of paying $80 for doing nothing, as that's what they charge for a trip fee. Nothing wrong with the guy they sent me, it's the company and their pricing.
I give them a zero if I could. More like a lying used car dealer than a plumber. We asked four local plumbing companies for quote on water treatment, three of them came and gave us a free estimate. This one...we're not even sure if they sent an actual plumber, more like a salesman, who waited until the last minute to charge us $40 just for coming out and write a three line estimate. Not to mention their price is two thousand dollars more than the next most expensive guy! They never mentioned this consultation fee in their appointments and then put us on the hook for it. Stay away from this company if you don't want to get robbed.
This plumbing business is a comedy ..Full stop...and not funny at that.. The technician plumber came in with a bad attitude energy / facial expression as if to say
I'm here to hear same old plumbing problem I-heard before. I really don't want to do this job.
The trap is $49 to do a diagnostic then they quote you a price is sooo outrageous so you decide not to hire but, you have to pay the diagnostic fee for no work done. Then, as a customer I told the plumber technician that quoted price too much and will pay the $49 fee then technician said how much do you want to pay? I ended paying a lower second price he quoted because I wanted the problem resolve quickly.
Just don't hire this business for your plumbing needs. EVER..,if you do hire...you have read this review and have been forewarn.
Is there a minus/ negative star rating?!!
How this business continues to exist - I don't really know. Consistently bad reviews( old and new) posted or not recommended I stand by my review.
Same platitude from management- sorry we didn't meet your expectations . The mission statement is empty.

My A/C went out at 1:00 AM Sunday morning. With the temperatures in the 100's it was basically unliveable in my house. I called several A/C companies and the earliest availability I got was Wednesday. Called My Plumber and they were able to send a technician out Monday morning. The technician was able to quickly diagnose the problems and made the repairs prior to 1:00 PM Monday! Although the temperatures are lower this week, the upstairs rooms are in the upper 80's. I very relieved to know my family will sleep in A/C comfort tonight! I also received a 10% military discount. i am pleased with their level of service.
Timely and professional service!! They showed up on-time and had the problem fixed within 30-mins. The cost to fix a seemingly simple problem was higher than I expected. They waived their diagnostic fee, which was good b/c I already diagnosed the problem correctly. Received military discount too.
ZERO ZERO STARS. Do not use this company. Plumber arrived to unclog a drain in my basement sink next to my washing machine. He stood there and looked at it and said it would cost $500.00 which we could not afford. He did not even try to un clog anything. He proceeded to try and get the job by giving discounts. All said and done he did nothing !!!!!! And charged 79.00. Total Rip off. Not to mention this man spoke very broken English and was very hard to understand.
If you need a plumber please shop around, this company is just out to take advantage of people

This had to be the worst experience. The guy came, Bill, spent a little while looking around, and then spent the next hour during which he insisted on educating us about the physics and engineering about air conditioning. (We were stupid enough to sit through it!) He was somewhat condescending also. Asked us questions as if we were in elementary school. Was very hard sell. We mentioned other companies and brands, and he told us everything he thought was bad about them. He tried to pressure us to sign up on the spot, even when we told him we were getting other estimates. He told us the price he quoted was only good if we signed. He quoted us about $11k for the system. We've had other companies in for estimates, and today the best company came in (Tyson's), looked at everything, cleaned the coils in the condenser, did a Freon charge, and said even though the unit will eventually need to be replaced (it's 15 years old) we should be good until next spring. We asked for a quote anyway, and for a comparable system to the $11k from My Plumber, he quoted $8k. We should have known something was wrong from the beginning with My Plumber when we made the appointment and they asked us if all of the decision makers would be home at the time of the appointment. My Plumber appears to be very unethical, almost criminal. Stay away from these guys!!
This company over charges. They quoted me 2x what other companies are charing for the same service.
They take advantage of their customers and will spam your email with future service requests and no option to unsubscribe.

Water heater wasn't warming water to hot temperatures. The temperature sensor was broken. The guy who came didn't run any diagnostic. Just visually looked at the water heater and quoted 900. Easy to say, we went with someone else who took the time to run tests and give us a proper estimate and other options on water heaters.

The HVAC system we were sold and then one that was installed were NOT the same. We were told we were getting a high efficiency system and we didn't. We were told we were getting an ecobee thermostat and we didn't. I called asked very politely to talk to a manager every week for the last three weeks and have not gotten a call back. I am so disappointed, don't make the same mistake we did. Find someone else.

Called to have my bathroom sink unclothed. Reached out to My Plumber and had a technician out that day. Tech proceeded to snake the line with his drill motor and 4-5 foot snake. This did not work, so the tech removed the snake and dropped black dripping on my throw rug. Tech then went to his truck for more tools and a drop rug. Tech still could not clear the line and stated the line would need to be 'jetted' or the plumbing lines replaced. Told the tech I would think about this and he wrapped up and left without cleaning up. I have attached photos of the mess he left for me.
Avoid them unless you want to pay 4x what a job should be-AND have to pay a dispatch fee for lies and be conned!
We had My Plumber come after our frig water line cracked open and did a lot of damage. The tech told me I had to have all new copper (a code that was changed a few years ago-but couldn't explain which code or when that happened to be) and pushed to changed a couple other things that were fine. He wanted to charge me more time for having to fish around for where the line came through the floor-if he would have listened to me as i was telling him that the damaged floor would all be removed so that wouldn't be the case! I hired another company that did it for ONE FOURTH of the price on the exact same work! Soo many little red flags and I'm glad I didn't hire the My Plumber con artist, but it bothered me that I had to pay a dispatch fee to be lied too and conned. That's NOT good business practice-wouldn't you expect the truth about what's code/fair and reasonable when you're paying for the dispatch fee? When I spoke to management (after trying to get ahold of them after over a week) they totally sided with the tech about his lies being ok (I was supposively had to have the code number-ummm YOU'RE the plumbing company!)
After dealing with several employees- the entire company works like this with scheming it's potential customers. I wouldn't recommend them EVER to ANYONE.
These guys are outrageously expensive. I was in a pinch since it was the day before thanksgiving and the problem required that all the water in the house be off. So, I called and they came when they said they would- that is the reason for 1 star.
So, I had previously fixed the shower faucet but it broke again. I thought I knew what it was but again had to get it fixed adapt and couldn't trust my limited skills. I told the technician what I thought it was and he said I was right. I needed a part and to redo what I did the first time. I specifically asked if I could get it at Home Depot or lowes. He assured me that I couldn't. So then I asked if I could order it online and get next day shipping, this would allow me fix before the holiday. Again I was told no that I would have to buy a whole new set including all of the stuff I didn't need which would be about 400. BUT, I was in luck because he said he had a return ion his truck and could pull the little piece out of that. I should have known but the guy seemed nice so I agreed to have him do it and fix the whole thing for about 400. It took 15 minutes. After he left I pulled out my laptop- no way, the part is listed and is 5 bucks. So that and a new cartridge would be about 45 and I could install it in about 30 minutes.
I had to call and complain and was surprised that I was listened to and had the mgr return my call as promised. Well, I suppose it says something about a company like this when they actually have a job title of resolution mgr. This guy is a pro, talks a big game and makes you feel better. He spoke with his tech and said he agreed that I was misled and he was going to put the guy on notice. Ok, that's nice but.... So I said good but what about me getting ripped off. He had to call me back again. Calls and says he is going to send me a 50 dollar gift card. Gee thanks, so now it was only 350. I laughed and said ok whatever. The card did arrive so that was nice.
Bottom line is these guys are pros, they know how to lie and mislead and charge crazy amounts. Then, if you fight it you get a gift card. But in the end they are still way ahead and off sticking it to the next poor guy who needs his water on.
They will never get my business again despite the 30 dollars off coupon they included with my gift card.

Awful service. They promised me in the morning they will come and now they call to reschedule. The advertise free labor if they don't come same day. It is just a gimmick. Do not trust them. Wasted the entire day waiting for them.
RIPOFF WARNING! I requested My Plumber to repair a leak at a rental property. I trusted that they would complete the repair at a fair price. Lesson learned. The problem ended up being the wax ring around the toilet. $350 to replace a $10 part that takes 20 minutes to replace?! 2 lessons....always be present when the work is done and NEVER call My Plumber again.

Crazy expensive. We were told there would be a $89 fee to come take a look at our clogged kitchen sink and that the plumber would give us a quote while he was there. If we had the work done they wouldn't charge the $89. When the plumber arrived he said all clogged sinks were $413!!! If there is a set charge for clogged sinks, why didn't they just tell us that when we called for a quote. It took less than 20 minutes to snake the drain and the clog disappeared. $413 is outrageous. I don't know any other profession that charges that much for 30 minutes. We will NEVER EVER call My Plumber again.
Criminals. A kitchen drain needed to be snaked. Their estimate? $482. Pure highway robbery at its best. My research said it should cost between $100 and $200 maximum and I found someone to do it for $150. If you need an honest referral, please contact me. Do not waste your time with these crooks.

I am so mad, because I scheduled this company kind of at the last minute and didn't check the reviews. I am seriously fuming right now. But my husband was home ill from work and we thought it'd be a perfect time for the plumber to come, since we didn't want to take time off of work another day.
We wanted a deep sink installed in our laundry room (it is all out of the box and assembled- it just needs to be hooked up) and also a new faucet in our kitchen. Well, they apparently charge $80 for the estimate, which they said they would be unable to do over the phone. I don't understand that, because when the plumber got here and learned we wanted a deep sink and a new faucet, he had to call the company to get the estimate. (I have no idea why that was their procedure). He came back about 10 minutes later and told my husband it would be just over $800 to put the deep sink in! Are you kidding me?!?! I spoke to another plumber (whose schedule really doesn't fit in with ours) and he gave an estimate of $195, which we thought was a LOT more reasonable. Anyhow, my husband asked what it would be just to put the new faucet in. Again, the man called his company, came back, and said that without parts (as we had our own parts) that installation itself would be $406, but he could do both jobs for $1000. Absolutely. Not.
So, we're out $80 for him to tell us something that could have been done over the phone. I understand why people won't give estimates over the phone to me, but what I don't understand is why he had to call the company himself to get the blatantly-overpriced estimate. It seems like such a rip-off. Needless to say, we didn't end up having him do the work. I might just go to ask.com and see if I can find instructions on how to do the new faucet myself. (I am still rolling my eyes that he had the nerve to charge over $400 for something that should take about 20 minutes to do.)
Excellent service by the plumber I got. I called the same day to get an appointment. They said they would put it on the schedule and if a plumber was available, they'd give me a 35-40 minute prior to arriving courtesy call. I was very lucky!! I got a call later in the day and 40 minutes later was greeted by a very pleasant gentleman named Marl. I had two issues: (1) Master bath spout was causing some issues in the surrounding tiles, and (2) Water heater tank was leaking through the flow guard pipe. You could tell this gentleman knew what he was doing. He was very professional and was considerate of my home. Even walked in with the cloth slipper covers on his shoes. I couldn't have been more pleased with the service. It took him about 1 hour and a half for both jobs and he even checked to make sure a variety of ways that the leaks had been truly dealt with. I dunno if it was the Chantilly, Burke, or Fairfax people, I just called the 1-800 number on the website, but this guy was great! For both repairs I paid around $570.00. I will definitely be calling MyPlumber in the future for any issues!
poor service, office scheduled morning service, finally showed up for regular maintenance at 4:15, left 4:45 not doing all the servicing; emailed all kinds of future purchases. tried to talk to someone in charge in the office, they never responded to requests.
could not easily cancel plus service, had to email cancellation notice. Office said they accepted cancellation on the phone but never really cancelled. Had to go through the credit card for cancellation.
If I can give a 0 start I would !! BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY!! they are scamming people!!! They try to sell you services that you don't need , charge you 5x the price of the parts. They are preying of the elderly and scamming!! Trying to sell you their monthly service for $25 a month. For nothing !!! Just to get into your house and fake new services
BE CAREFUL!!

Bottom Line: AVOID. Look around to get a cost check on what you might need. Check other plumbers, Angie's List, various web sites to get a reality check on costs before you call these guys. I WILL NOT use them again because they are TOO expensive. I am just glad it was just a regular drain clean up and nothing more complicated.
I had an emergency backed up basement drain in my townhouse that had to be fixed quickly.
I checked Angie's List and everybody was offering drain cleaning from $199 to $299.
On a friend's recommendation I called Myplumber.
MyPlumber Customer Service is very good- from dispatch to scheduling.
MyPlumber's Kevin Alles diagnosed the problem and solution was to use their snake to clear the main line from the basement.
First, quickly the cost was $700 (after 10% discount for First Responder/Law Enforcement) for clearing the drain with the snake and the video inspection. I asked why the price was so high and basic answer was this is the what we charge. I explained that other plumbers charge about $200-$300 but I was talking to deaf ears.
Since this was an emergency I went with it. Of course their video guy was not available on the day so he had to come the next day.
Kevin Alles used his snake machine and in about 10 min the drain was cleared. He was all done in about an hour. At the end I complained again about the high price to no avail.
The next day Gilberto showed up and the video inspection was about 20 min. I asked for a copy of the video and with reluctance he copied the video to my USB drive. Gilberto said there was still a bit od debris in the iron (sewer) pipe and he recommended (of course) to do a power wash to clear the pipe. When done he wrote up an estimate of $1850 for Power Wash and he would give me a discount of $280 (for whatever reason) if I agreed to do it then. Of course I refused because the price is just astronomically high.
Before he left Gilberto said that because I did not do the power wash the drain cleaning performed by Kevin Alles did not have a warranty and if the drain backed up again I'd have to pay the same $700 price tag!!
After the work was done I looked around and checked the cost of Power Washing (similar to Hydro-Jetting) sewer line. I found prices ranging from $300-$400 (Angie's List). So refusing the $1850 estimate was the right decision! By the way, I also found other plumbers that included the video inspection free of charge. Now, we all know that might be bait but still ... So I paid for the video guy to show up and give me an inflated estimate for more work!!!
So Lessons Learned: MyPlumber is extremely and outrageously expensive. $700 for running a snake in the drain in about an hour is just TOO HIGH. I understand the service call/emergency call but $700 is still high. Maybe Lawyers charge $700/hour; maybe Doctors charge $700/hour, but plumbers!?!?! MyPlumber technicians work off salary and commission and they will stick you with whatever price tag they can, specially in emergency situations.

I should have read reviews first. Do yourself a favor and find another plumber.
The visit to estimate services is $70 (which is later deducted from services if you decide to use them). We needed to replace a toilet and replace a single cold water shut off valve under the sink. We had already removed the tank so I could paint the wall behind it before installation.
The estimate? $480 to install the toilet (which was $190) and $287 to replace shut off valve (a $15 part). The tech was here 10 minutes....I showed him the door.
Robbery. I wonder how much of their income is from consumers paying $70 for joke estimates while the plumber never actually does any work. I can't imagine what the estimate would have been for an emergency! I will always Yelp! for companies that provide great service...this will NEVER be one of them...

Worst experience ever. I think that my water softener might not be working well so called for service. Technician showed up, with no tools or test kit, literally glanced at system and said that it needed to be replaced. He didn't test water or try to test anything, he just tried to sell a new system which he said, with a discount, would cost $8000. I then asked him to leave. Never again.

They were masked, that's one star. They came on the same day as I called, that's the 2nd star. $200 to replace a toilet flush value (less than $20 part) in 5 minutes. They charge by the job, not the time. The website is deceiving--the $79.50 charge is waived but it was still $200. The bolts on my tank are rusting but not leaking, to do the bolts and the value would have been $450 and the whole toilet more than $1000. They are a ripoff. I have a lot of plumbing work that I need--I will not be calling them again. RIPOFF.

Was charged $150 for a 30 minute visit for a water heater examination/test that resulted in no professional diagnosis or repair. The tech left me only with his opinion that the issue was an electrical breaker issue but said he was not qualified to investigate the electrical issue any further or perform a repair (I understand and have no issue with this. He is not an electrician). I left a polite message with customer service to provide my feedback; the price was too high for the time/labor rendered. My message was returned by a customer relations associate who took a confrontational and aggressive tone with me.
I understand that employees and the company should be compensated by me for their time. However, $150 for a 30 minute visit that results in nothing of value is outrageous. Aggressive and confrontational customer relations exacerbate the problem.

The most unprofessional & unethical company I have hired. The VIP service is a rip-off, every time I required same day service, they could not come out for 1 to 2 days. When they did come out, they tried to up-sell or change more than other companies. Requested to cancel the membership, a manager said they would cancel our membership & refund us that month's payment. 3 months later they still have not canceled our membership & still charge us the monthly fee.

This company is the worst. They have been calling me 2-3 times a day every day, allowing their calls to go to voicemail and then not leaving a message. I have not contacted them for service. When I called to complain they told me I did business with them 7 years ago and they were calling with a special offer. I asked them to remove my number from their call list and was told they would and they still are calling. They must be desperate for business if they have to harass past customers 2-3 times a day.

I had a clogged shower head, wanted it replaced. I'm not a plumber, so I suppose that's why I was almost victimized here. Their tech, Darren, arrived and quoted me $850.00 to replace a standard, single-control handle and the head. I live in an apt, so the property manager refused to let him do the work, since they have no partnership with MyPlumber. Just letting you know, these people are savagely dishonest. Save yourself a fortune and look elsewhere.
Myplumber called to ask if I needed heat or cooling service. I told them my heat and cooling units are fine since I had recently replaced them but asked if they service humidifiers. They said yes and offered to come out for free to take a look. A service person came in, examined the humidifier, and wanted to charge me for examination. He did not perform any work. I told him this service was promised to me as free. He slammed my front door as he walked out. He slammed the door so hard that my door is now making squeaky noise every time we shut the door.
Today I received a bill for $234. Void this bill, otherwise, I will pursue further actions. Do not call again with your fraudulent promises.

I have been a customer of this company for more than 20 years and have spent thousands of dollars with them -- not because they are great plumbers but just because they're well-organized and show up on time. However, they have now started calling me multiple times a day promoting their heating & cooling business. I have explained a couple of times that I have someone else who takes care of that, but they keep calling and even keep talking when I ask them to stop. I just called their office and a rather rude person said she would send a note to the office. She didn't apologize and, frankly, gave no indication she gave a damn. That's it for these guys. Never again.
one total rip off!!! do not use them is all i can say. house was on market and needed quick service -- yes, quick in ripping you off. sorry i didn't read reviews prior to work -- over $1000!!!

I was looking at the reviews of this company and thinking I'd give them a try. Most of the reviews are pretty old, and a friend tried them and didn't have a negative experience. But that was a mistake I won't forget. One of the main complaints in the reviews is the price, but I figured if I got a good price everything else would workout. That wasn't the case. During the installation, it was obvious the water heater had to get replaced before the air handler due to space issues, but the plumber was a no show and the HVAC techs decided to replace the air handler first anyway. The process took all day, and near the end of the day I kept wondering about the plumber. A couple phone calls to the company finally got me to someone that would track down the plumber, which she did but not soon enough for him to come in and do the job he was scheduled to do that day. So the project took another day, and since they had to take the air handler apart, replace the water heater and put the air handler back together again, it took a whole day to complete the water heater replacement. I wish I could say that was the end of the story, but soon after that final install I noticed the air conditioning would take a good 6 hours to go down a couple degrees. Then I got an alert from my leak detector that there was water leaking... it was leaking from the air handler. Something in the AC unit broke and they'd have to order a replacement part. It's been over a week and I'm still waiting for that part; I was told it would take a while but that doesn't ease the frustration(or the heat). It's frustrating that I paid so much for this new unit and soon after it was replaced, I'm having problems with it. My AC is struggling to keep up with the 90 degree weather, and I haven't heard a word from MyPlumber. Working with this company has been a headache, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a stress free experience; no matter how good the deal(which if you go by past reviews, it probably not a good deal).
Hopefully My Plumber will get the point when they continue to get terrible reviews. Needed kitchen sink drained/snaked. $500 estimate. Get out-that's a stupid price ( I said in my head).....but out loud....yeah NO. Called another company for LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE. Racket. Paid $79 for them coming out for estimate. I think techs are just running around doing estimates for $79 which they keep collecting....and don't plan on doing the work. Racket. Reporting them to BBB. There are great hard working plumbers that should not have this company out representing them.

Terrible. Had a 3:00 appointment. Left work early. Waited until 7. No calls from company to update me. Missed dinner plans. Was easy fix. Replace faucet handle. Guy tells me entire faucet has to be replaced. The one he has is $965. Same one on Amazon for $240. No thanks. Still charged me $79 for coming 4 hours late. Never again.

If you ever give them your phone number, whether you do business with them or not, they will continue to call you, from several numbers. Its been 3 years, and they will not stop calling!
The prices they charge are astronomical. I had a leak in my basement and they charged me an exorbitant amount to fix it. I was at their mercy because I wanted the leak fixed.
Please read the reviews and look elsewhere.

Never ever use MyPlumber Heating and Cooling!!!
We made a routine call out to get a blockage cleared from our upstairs bathroom. The 'technician' did not push the blockage far enough and subsequently raw sewerage come up through the laundry floor flooding the laundry, basement carpet and spare room. The smell and having three little kids running around was unbearable!
Initially they took full responsibility and had a contractor out to rip up the laundry floor, tear up the carpets in the basement and spare room and leave 13 fans and humidifiers to soak up the mess for three days. THEN they called to tell me they were no longer going to foot the bill and left me with a completely ruined and usuable basement that was my children's playroom and no place for my visitors to sleep.
Not only did they flood my house with sewerage, we had three more technicians in to seal the toilet and fix up the first 'technicians' mistakes....
It is now five weeks ago since they came, we still have no formal call from the manager as promised and no explanation as to why they did not take responsibility for the problem they caused. The ethics of this company are truly questionable.
A true nightmare!! Never use them....
We called My Plumber to fix a hot/cold water problem in our shower and kitchen faucets. The guy arrived punctually in a nice truck. I barely finished describing the problem and he immediately try to sell me on a side tank without even looking at anything. After we suggested that maybe he should look for himself he proceeded to the water heater and just by looking at it determined we need a new one (it's 9 years old, looks and works well, and provides hot water to all other faucets.) We expressed our disappointment and doubts about his ability to diagnose our problem without testing the affected faucets and he left.
We called another plumber, recommended by friends, who came, looked at both faucets, and replaced the cartridge in the shower faucet, which solved the problem in both. He said the water heater is fine and may only need to be flushed (which he showed me how to do.)
I believe My Plumber is a large outfit and may have better representatives. Although this review applies only to the guy who came to us, be careful when you use them.

We had them at 2 properties. At the first they were scheduled to do an $89.00 job. When they got there they recommended that we have them do $2000.00 worth of work. We declined. At our house they told us a water tank leaked and need to be replaced for $2500.----Other plumber found that the tank does NOT leak. To fix a bathroom leak they wanted to charge $700.00+ --other plumber charged $300. Do not use them, they don't know what they are doing and they will try to charge an exorbitant amount!!! They are the worst we've had
Zero stars. Just waited 9 hours for a no show. Asked if we were available tomorrow. Sorry. I am calling someone who will show up
I called My Plumber because the pilot light on our hot water heater kept going out. The plumber David said it was overheating and was a fire hazard. He said it needed to be replaced because the soot at the opening at the bottom was from flames as it heats up. He said the newer units are enclosed and they are lit by pressing an igniter button. I would no longer have to lit the pilot with a match, just press the igniter button. He quoted me $2500 for everything. He went to his truck to call his manager (supposedly) and came back saying if I get it installed the next day he could reduce it down to $1975. It was late in the evening and it sounded like a deal at the time. Well he came to install the heater the next day 12/16/2010. My wife was home during the installation. When I got home I was livid. David lied, he installed a new water heater just like the one I already had, no push button igniter but worse of all the pilot was not lit. I tried to light it myself but It wouldn't stay lit. I feel like a fool and like I was taken. Definitely a bait and switch routine. I spoke with him by phone and he is now saying he never mentioned an igniter (lie) He is supposed to be on the way now to ignite the pilot but that's only half of the problem. STAY AWAY FROM MY PLUMBER!!! He just called and is saying his stuck at another location and can't come until the morning. Now we have no hot water!!!!
ATTENTION: ESPECIALLY SENIORS and all others who may be considering using My Plumber. I went for this job hook, line, and sinker. I called My Plumber to clear (snake) the drain and replace our disposer.
I signed the quote for less than $1,000 with the caveat from My Plumber that he may have to move the existing trap (estimate $200.00) to accommodate the larger 3/4 HP disposer shown below).
The Rep proceeded to re-route the trap, install the disposer and snake the line. But ran into difficulty because the snake went up the pipe, when it should go down the pipe. After considerable effort he said he would have to remove the drywall to drill a hole through the pipe in order to route the snake down the pipe (shown below).
I paid the Rep $1737.00 and thanked him!
A few days later I called My Plumber to get a line item list of services provided that generated a final bill of $1,737 and received an email that included line items and description:
Diagnostic fee: $180.00
Furnish and install new 3/4 hp garbage disposal: $957.00 ( the Emerson InSinkErator Model Pro 750-2 can be Googled for $369.00)
Furnish and install new pvc sink trap: $200.00
Snaked kitchen sink drain line (had to cut open wall at the tee and drill pilot hole so the snake cable could clear the stoppage; sealed the pilot hole and tested drain thoroughly): $500.00
Total Bill= 1837.00-$100.00 Senior Discount= $1737.00
My initial approval was for a job less than $1000.00 and paid $1737.00 for the services provided which represents more than a 75% increase over the signed estimate. After asking for the line item and complaining to My Plumber, he/she credited our account two weeks later for the Diagnostic Fee of $180.00
My fellow Seniors beware; my advice if you choose My Plumber is to obtain a detailed line item quote up front before electronically signing for the services.
Better yet I would not recommend this company to you or anyone else.

This incident occurred several years ago but is worth sharing:
I called MYPLUMBER regarding a backed up sewer line. There was no time to do a responsible contractor search so I relied on Long & Foster's Home Connections referral website (usually reliable). MYPLUMBER came quickly and then charged $50 for an estimate (applied against the job price). In such an emergency there was no choice. The first thing the two guys did was shake their heads like the blocked pipe was nearly impossible to fix, that only they could do it and that there was considerable danger in not having them do the work immediately (as they handed me an estimate/contract to sign). Their price was in the MANY hundreds of dollars. I told them to leave, which surprised them considerably. Upset, I paid them $50. The moment they left I called a national chain and they did the job for something like $100. It was a simple fix. I later made a big enough stink that MYPLUMBER refunded my estimate fee. To say this is a dishonest organization that preys on the elderly and desperate may be too strong, but it was the impression I certainly got. I would steer as far from MYPLUMBER as possible.
My Plumber came out to replace a wax seal in our toilet. The estimate was far more that we anticipated ( or expected from our online research). Should have read these reviews first!
We declined, called a local plumber and saved ourselves over $100.

I bought a new shower head to install in my master bath, intending to install myself which I've done in previous homes & this one, about 25 years ago. It's a simple process, taking 10-15 mins. Alas, age has caught up with me & my arthritic hands can no longer turn the wrench. I clearly stated to the person answering the phone what I wanted done, that it was a simple job. I understood that there was a $49.00 service fee which would be deducted from the price should I choose to complete the job. In my naivete, I thought surely it wouldn't be more than $100 - $120 which I was willing to pay just to get it done. The estimate was over $230.00!!!! For a job that most anyone, with working hands & eyes, could do in 10 mins! What a waste of $49.00!!! NEVER will I call them again!
Called My Plumber because I had used them with success everytime I lived in the DC area. Well this time they let me down. Tech was a no show - and I didn't find out until it was after 7pm and I called them. At which point I was told the tech was held up and might not make it. They offered to rescedule - but I work too and had been waiting since 2pm. No way I was waiting on them again - called someone else. Won't be going back to My Plumber.
My Plumber is the worst!! We called them because of all the TV and Radio ads we had heard about their exceptional service , blahblahblah. To bad they dont have exceptional pricing! The only thing reliable about them was that they showed up on time.
We needed a kitchen sink and garbage disposal installed - with some PVC pipes that needed to be replaced and hot and cold water valves also needed replacement.
The quote for a 2/3 hour job was $1,668.00!!!!! Are you kidding me? The flat rate of $909.00 was for the installation. $300 an hour? The remainder of the estimate was for parts. Of course, we told him to get out.
And for that pleasure, we were charged $79.50 for a 10 minute estimate. I will do everything in my power to make sure everyone knows what a rip off this company is.
Had a scheduled appointment between 8-9 am on December 27th to collect an estimate for duct cleaning. Took 3 hours off from work. Waited till 9:50 am and called to only find out that they do not give time window and I will be called one hour ahead of their arrival. I was told that they give priority to customers who have no heat. Not that I do not care about people who have no heat, but I took time off of work based on inaccurate information I was given by this company's customer service associate. Who tells customers that they are not priority? I am not giving business to them after such treatment. No apologies were offered. I cancelled my appointment, but want to make sure others know what treatment they are going to receive unless they have no heat.
Absolute total scam artists. I'm in the process of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, and pretty much trying to leave reviews everywhere I can in hopes that I can save as many people as possible from getting COMPLETELY ripped off. We called My Plumber because our kitchen sink had a leak coming from the pipe that lead away from the garbage disposal. It was clear that the part that connects the disposal to the drain pipe was corroded and the obvious cause of the leak. Other than that, the garbage disposal worked perfectly fine and is an expensive, top-of-the-line disposal. The technician from My Plumber arrived, and after staring blankly at the disposal for over 15 minutes decided to try and tell me that the entire disposal needed to be replaced. The cost of the replacement (for a lesser quality disposal) was estimated to be approximately $600. I explicitly told the plumber that we do not want to replace the disposal because it's working fine and only want to replace the small part that is leaking. He tried insisting that the part can not be replaced, and repeatedly tried to convince me to pay the $600 to replace the working disposal. I kept asking why he couldn't just fix the leaking connector, and his response was that the part doesn't exist and would have to be special ordered. I told him we were going to seek a second opinion because what he was saying didn't make sense to me. They charged me $79 simply to be dispatched and do no work (stupid). I called a local plumber who was able to dismantle the disposal within minutes, provide me with the part number of the part that was leaking, and inform me that it could easily be repaired. I found the part that supposedly didn't exist on amazon for $10 and was able to replace the part myself...that's how easy it was. Basically, this immoral and completely fraudulent company tried to take advantage of my family by blatantly lying to my face saying the part couldn't be replaced. Please, for the love of god, do not use this company at all..they are beyond untrustworthy and will do whatever they can to try to get you to spend the most money possible. They are pathetic, and if I hadn't gotten a second opinion from a local and honorable plumber then My Plumber would've charged over $600 to replace a disposal that did not need replaced. Total rip off. PLEASE AVOID!!
My Plumber should be called My Plunderer. They gave us an estimate of $900 to snake our drains after we had a toilet overflow. We said buh-bye and paid the mandatory $79 for the estimate. I immediately called Roto Rooter and they sent a plumber out within an hour. The Roto Rooter man spent the time to properly diagnose the problem, snaked our toilet and charged $228 to fix the problem. Roto Rooter provides free estimates and they guarantee their work for one week. I had told the My Plunderer guy that if I got our plumbing problems fixed for much less, that I would write a bad review on the Internet. He had the nerve to continue to try to justify the $900! As promised, here is my scathing review.

Worst customer service from a reputed company like yours. Sad !
We had called for a leak coming from our ceiling in the living room, and were promptly assigned an appointment for a technician to come and take a look. One of my questions to the receptionist was that what would be the steps involved in order to get the problem fixed. I was told that the technician would have everything in his truck, and he will be able to fix the problem right then and there.
The technician visited us on the allotted day of June 11, 2013. He seemed to be knowledgeable and tried many things to figure out where the water was coming from. He even climbed up the little hole we had cut out in the ceiling to see the leak and also to drain out the water if some was collected. He asked us if he should diagnose the issue, and we said yes, for which he told us upfront that he would charge us $159. He took a look in all the bathrooms and figured out that we needed some caulking done and that should fix the problem. We asked him to do that, and he said that he does not caulk, and that he does not even have a price sheet for it. He mentioned that whoever will come and patch up the hole in the ceiling, will do a good job with the caulking too. We did not like the idea, but we did not have a choice.
We got the caulking done, and we still have a leak. We have called your company 5 times at least and left messages, and we are told that someone from the Management will get back to us. We are still waiting for that call since June 26 ! The call was supposed to be received within 24 to 48 hours !
I am really sorry that we had to deal with such pathetic customer service, and now we are beginning to think that your company has been at some fault some where, and that is why you are running away from this.
I will follow-up on this, write reviews, tell people, because a company should not be allowed to rest on their laurels forever, even when they do not perform.
You have all our records, call recordings etc too, and hence you can not say that we did not follow-up, or that your management was not aware.
Taking out this much time to write to you should indicate how frustrated we are with your service. Not only that we have a very certain feeling that yopu messed up something somewhere. Either your guy did a shoddy job, or he lied, or you think that this should have been handled differently.
Never call MYPlumber !
Have used this company forever & always regret it. (I am an out of state landlord).
Today 2 routine minor toilet rebuilds -no parts break out, etc- cost $324 per toilet.
This is for the usual interior parts-float valve, etc. They always swear they have to source their better built parts from a Wholesaler & their trucks sit at HD or Lowes.
Next: Had the Tenant get an InSinkerator Evolution Compact for install; electrical cord OK. Took 3 attempts to get it right; didn't run D/W, which shares same discharge line, & over 2 hours to connect. Total: 4+ hours, $1000 later. This is NOT the White House, folks.

The garbage disposal they wanted to replace mine with costs $99.96 at Lowes. They quoted - $878. No, there's not a missing dot in there - they honestly quoted almost $800 in labor. My guess is they do it just to have the guy go house to house collecting the $79 in fee for coming out to look. I'll be spending the rest of my afternoon figuring out how to replace the thing myself, which I guess I should have done in the first place. When I questioned the price, he offered me $100 off the price. He wouldn't give me a breakdown of parts vs. labor, refused to detail anything, and told me a woman like me would never be able to replace it - I need someone to install it for me.
I cannot remember his name, but he was mechanic #184.
Extremely expensive. TOTAL RIP OFF
1) I got the same job done by a different plumber for a whooping $8000 less than what these guys gave me an estimate for.
2) These guys charged me $300 to do camera inspection, while ALL others did that for free as part of estimates
3) They just walked in asked where the problem was then handed me a paper and asked me to sign it without out even explaining to me what they were going to do. Without even giving me a break down of the outrageous price they were charging me.
AVOID THEM! AVOID THEM! AVOID THEM!

Most of this two star review is for a very excessive price for a job that took less than one hour to complete. $425 to remove, replace, and re-solder the pipe on the hot water side from the heater to the house. I'm still shaking my head at that price. I'll tell my kids...Eff computer science, be a plumber. wtf? On the flip side, the guy who did the job was courteous and professional but, that doesn't make up for the excessive pricing.
I was very impressed with Bill Turgeon when he arrived at my residence on Thursday, February 9, 2023 to do a yearly inspection on my furnace. He indicated that I needed an air scrubber replacement bulb, and left my residence to go and pick up the replacement. When he returned he noticed the light did not come on and let me know that a replacement had to be ordered. When he returned today, the replacement worked perfectly. Thank you so much for sending a very confident technician.

I had exactly the same experience as the other Yelper. I have used this company twice. Their policies and prices are outrageous. Both times I have come away with the feeling that they are extremely dishonest.
Episode 1: Toilet clog. Instead of offering to snake the toilet, the plumber said he thought a child's toy was blocking the drain so he wanted to replace the entire toilet. A very specific thing to suggest without any evidence. I told him there have not been children in the condo for years, if ever. Price quoted for toilet replacement: $850. I talked to the service manager, because I thought this was outrageous. He offered to have them use a camera to look in the toilet and check (why not offer that in the first place?). Outcome: No toy blocking drain, problem solved with snaking of drain (which they charged hundreds of dollars more than competitors for.
Episode 2: Stupidly, I forgot they were the problem company, and allowed the tenant to hire them. Problem: Toiler flapper, etc. needed to be replaced. The plumber offered two options: replace the whole toilet for $750 (WHY?!?!?!) or put the new interior pieces in for $458. Folks, the kit at home depot costs $20-$40. He says he doesn't use parts from home depot. I said, so what... even if you pay double for your materials (which I doubt), the total cost shouldn't be any where near that. He offered me a 10% discount. Like that would make any difference when I believe their prices are 200% over the fair rate! Bad. Bad. Greedy company.
UPDATE ON EPISODE 2: I went down to the condo to take a look - and do the repair myself - and found that the ONLY problem was that the arm inside that connects to the handle was broken. Less than $10 in parts, 15 minutes of labor for me - an unexperienced person. All other internal parts were less than 2 years old and completely intact, unworn, etc. SHAME ON YOU, MY PLUMBER. I took photos and will try to report them to the licensing board. This is too much of a ripoff.

Super fast and great service. Fixed my problem without trying to overcharge and gave me a discount.
A Total RIPOFF!
Called myplumber to move a gas line 12 inches and install a new valve. This is part of a kitchen remodeling as the range is being replaced with a cooktop. Since I do all my own work (electrical, plumbing, etc.) except gas lines, I estimated it would take a technician about 2 hours and no more than $50 in parts (one valve plus copper tubing).
Their technician showed up on time and was fairly friendly. He looked the job over and said it would be 2 to 2 1/2 hours plus parts. He said he would have to go to the warehouse to check for parts availability and call me later that day with a quote.
The technician called back and gave me a quote of $580.00. Ouch! I told him he was crazy as I had just paid $400.00 for two technicians for 2 hours to rework the fire sprinkler lines in the same room. He talked to his manager but they would not budge on the price.
Myplumber is a total ripoff. And, they charge you $79.99 just to come out and look the job over which can only be recovered if they do they work. A lesson learned the hard way.
Stay far away from this company!
We replaced our guest room sink but the trap was a few inches off and called my plumber to repipe it. While they were here they noticed one of the shutoff valves was loose and we had them repair that as well. $750 later the sink is working and I am told we have a 1 year guarantee. Less than 2 hours after the plumber leaves, there is no water pressure- just a trickle from
The faucet. We called right away and they send the same plumber out 2 days later who diagnoses a problem with debris in the faucet cartridge likely due to the shutoff valve repair. He is able to find a new faucet cartridge but the manager tells him we will have to pay for the repair which will be at least $300. An entire faucet costs $145. I call the office and leave a voice mail for the manager Sylvia who is in a meeting all morning and unable to speak to me. This company does not stand by their work and has lost me as a customer after 20 years and dozens of service calls over the years.

I called this company a few weeks back for a small sink leak. They gave me a quote for $650. They are definitely overpriced. I called a handyman and got it done for $150.

Do not do business with this company. In regards to their work, they're OK. But the problems come after the work is done with harassing phone calls. For three weeks now I receive 2-3 calls a day and answer the phone one time each day, asking to be put on a Do Not Call List. They say they will....only to get more and more calls. These calls are asking for additional services to be done. I said 'no' the very first time but still get calls. AVOID!
