Don't know what these reviews are about but I just received the best....I said the BEST service EVER from any plumber in all of my years as a home owner!!! The Murray's team were sent to my home for a secondary opinion requested by me through my home warranty for a leak in my ceiling.

What's so great about these guys?! Firstly, ON TIME, COURTEOUS, and KNOWLEDGEABLE!!! T. Mayes plumbing came to my house and misdiagnosed a ceiling leak - stating it was from the roof. HOW?! It's in the center of the room on the lower level with an entire room above it. Murray's plumbing arrived today, walked in, was told what the previous guys told us, gave a stare then CORRECTLY diagnosed where the leak was coming from and FIXED it all within 30min!!!! And took the time to EXPLAIN everything to me!!!

Murray's also went above and beyond and contacted my home warranty to let them know the previous company misdiagnosed the issue.

Even if I leave AHS...which I will... we have found the perfect plumbers!!!

This company is the absolute worst! Just like a previous reviewer, Brad wasted my time and money. Just like the other reviewer, he came into my house complaining about how his company micromanages him. He quoted me a huge bill; meanwhile, this was the second request after the first plumber did not complete the job with care. He called my insurance company and they denied the claim. I Spoke with the owner Raymond and he backed all of his employee's shenanigans!

Cinch sent them out. I am also very close to dropping this company as well! Do not accept them as your provider. You will regret it !

Murray's Plumbing and Heating was dispatched to our house by American Home Shield after we discovered our kitchen drain pipe was leaking in our crawl space.  George was sent to our our house who diagnosed the problem as a slab leak that would need the concrete removed to repair the broken cast iron pipe but advised this could only be done on a Saturday as to not interfere with their other house calls during the week.  The work was quoted to be $2800 and we were on the hook for $1800 of that bill.

Brad was sent to our house to perform the work and immediately began to complain about the job once he started.  Things like OH THERE'S SO MUCH WATER and  I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS echoed through my home as he performed his work and incited a panic between my wife and I.  He called his supervisor multiple times to loudly complain in the back yard about the work which led us to believe we had a major issue on our hands.  He informed me that there was a void under the concrete slab and that my house was at risk due to this void.  We were terrified that our house was going to fall over and he advised that we should contact our insurance company immediately due to the severity of the problem.  He stated that he did not have the concrete to repair the slab but we shouldn't repair the concrete until a structural engineer could inspect our home.  We paid our bill and he left under the promise that he would return to repair the crawl space once our home was inspected.  We spent the week before Christmas convinced our foundation was crumbling and our house would be falling over at any moment.

We hired Kemp Home Services to perform a structural inspection who informed us that the slab the plumber was working out was not our foundation and that crawlspaces have settlement all the time and this was a pretty normal finding for a house built in 1950.  The water that Brad was complaining and panicking over was actually the water table that is under EVERY HOME once you dig to a certain depth.  An experienced plumber should know this according to the home inspector.   We paid $800 for this inspection and for the peace of mind that our recently purchased house was not going to topple over.

I called Murray's Plumbing multiple times to have them come back to repair the concrete and nobody has returned my phone call for the past 2 months.  I've since given up on reaching them and am now dealing directly with American Home Shield which has proven to be just as frustrating.  I've called over 10 times to either Murray's or AHS since Brad left that day and I still have a hole in my crawlspace with no end in sight.

If this plumber is assigned to your house DO NOT accept it and ask for any other business to be assigned.  I truly wish I had read the reviews before giving Murray's Plumbing my money.  I've attached the picture of how Murray's left my crawlspace 3 months ago.

Murray's Plumbing has been our go to Plumber for the past six years. We have had at least five service calls during the past six years. They are prompt, professional and always wear a mask when they do a Service call.
I recommend them wholeheartedly for any and all of your plumbing needs.

Crooks! Like many of the other horror stories about these con artists, we reached out via Cinch for a leaking water heater. They came, said the heater needed replaced. A few days later I got the bill for items not covered. $425 for 18 of PVC, water heater disposal, and miscellaneous charges. For reference, I had a reputable company replace my AC compressor a month before and my out of pocket was $150. I called to express my concern about the $20 drain pan that they wanted to bill me $100 for. I was told, you can supply one for $20 and we'll charge you $80 to install. It literally gets dropped on the ground... why would I pay $80 for install? They will extort you for as much as they can when they have you in a corner. I took the check from Cinch and am upgrading to a better water heater for the same amount these crooks would have robbed me out of.

Horrible!!!!  The technician had to come out twice to address a toilet leak. The second time he tells me The floor was improperly installed, it's the original floor from the original build. Made no sense at all????? Can you say gouge!!!

I had a great experience using Murray's Plumbing and Heating Inc. My service was fast and done within an hour for a new water heater installation. I had an exceptional father and son team, Jeremy and Ray Sr. as my technicians. They were both friendly and knowledgeable. They were careful and not a trace was left of them being there. I was worried about my  white carpet but drop cloth was put down and old water heater removed. New piping, line and pan installed unlike the outdated equipment that was there before. They tested everything before leaving and straightened everything back perfectly. I couldn't ask for a more pleasant experience. I would easily recommend them to anyone and tell them to ask for the father and son team. If you want the job done right the first time and don't like being strung along, give them a call.

Helped with a home warranty service call. Technician was professional, explained what the fix would be, and was able to resolve it on the spot. I was stressed because we close in a few days and needed this addressed asap. Murray's came through.

price gougers!!! folks this is a set up between american home shield and all of there contractors in this case it was murrray's plumbing & heating! american home shield sent these criminals out to my house to just inspect my leaking 40 gallon hot water heater. this cost me $100.00 just for that! well after they spoke to american home shield brad the tech (the guy they sent out) handed me a out of pocket quote for $1,160.00 just for installation costs! almost 3 times the cost of the hot water heater itself ! there reason they said, it has to be up to code. but they are extreme price gaugers!!! for instance, there price for them to get me a permit in carroll county maryland was $150.00. i called and checked, the cost of the permit is only $35.00! dielectric unions there price $85.00. i can get them for $15.00 tops! drain pan, there price $100.00. actual cost $20.00. expansion tank, there cost $300.00. actual cost $40.00. there cost was almost 8 times what the actual cost of the expansion tank from any hhome depot store !!!

everyone!!! please listen, this is a set up to price gouge the consumer's between murray's plumbing & heating and american home shield! first they take my hundred dollars and then hand me a price quote that is probably ten times what the actual cost!!! cancel american home shield, i am, it's cheaper to do by your self!!! murray's are not nice people either to talk to either  like i said criminals!  i will report them to the better business bureau also! don't use them they are price gougers !!!

Had them come out 2/6 (my home warranty company contracted them) for a potential main water valve leak. We were told it was ground seepage and not a leak. Here we are 5/10 just had the city and another company come out to tell us that it is indeed a water main leak and there's no way a reputable plumbing service wouldn't have known that to begin with. So thanks for nothing and stay far away from this company. Extremely disappointed with how our situation was handled.

We discovered that an upstairs toilet was leaking in a pipe to the downstairs room. We called our home warranty company and they assigned the job to Murray's.
I called after hours on a Thursday night and did not hear anything until Monday morning, but when the lady called she apologized for not getting back to me on Friday. They sent someone out the same day she called me and he found the leak and repaired it promptly.
The service technician wore a mask and was very pleasant and friendly.
I was concerned when I saw some of the other reviews, but we were very pleased.
I am actually making note of the companies name so that we can request them if we have to call our Home Warranty Service for a plumbing issue again.

Our laundry tub drain clogged and I called the warranty company.  They sent Murrys.  This is the second time Murray's came out for an issue and could not fix it.  A plumber...that could not unclog a drain? Wtf.  He said the drain was improperly installed.  Da fuk? It's been installed and working since the house was built in 1957.  I think the guy either didn't know what to do or didn't want to do the work.  So i was still left with a clogged drain.  I called a different plumber out and he cleared it no problem.  Would not recommend this company at all.

Sent out by AHS.
Hired to fix a running toilet and leaking shower head.
This was the most unprofessional and incompetent service I have ever received from any company in my life.
They caused more damage than they fixed and my toilet and shower are still broken.
Technician arrived with an open and bleeding cut on his head.
Broke my shower handle which was not broken before.
Replaced the parts in a Toto toilet with generic parts and now the toilet no longer functions as before. Was told I'm not entitled to those parts.
Technician drove all over my lawn for no reason as I have a circular driveway.
Technician could not find his way out of my townhouse 3 times.
Broke the wooden panel covering the watermain
Owner hung up on me.
He is the rudest most obnoxious man I have ever encountered. He lacks all professionalism and empathy.

Called the warranty company (Cinch Home Services, also wouldn't recommend them) because the water pipe coming into the house was vibrating and making a loud noise. Got a same day appointment, which was nice, but they said they would call before coming but didn't. Renters were there and pointed the problem out to the guy, but for some reason he fixated on condensation coming out of the AC instead of the problem I called about. And since they didn't call, I wasn't there to tell him that wasn't the issue. So I just spent $135 to have a plumber come out for a water pipe issue just to have him diagnose the condensate drip as an AC leak. Great... Now waiting on the phone to talk to someone at CHS--wait time is an hour they said. This all sucks.

Our home warranty company sent Murray's out to us for a second opinion. I was not happy with the first's company diagnoses for my plumbing issue . The first company fail in unclogging my kitchen drain and stated my sewer line could be collapsed. Murray's sent George who within minutes found my pipes were leaking behind the wall . I had to arrange my handy man to make a access point   to allow George's to get to the wall since it was cover by cabinets. Once that was completely i had service scheduled the very next day.  George was able to completely the work in two hours which included changing out pipping and snaking the drain clear.  H walked me thru all the steps . He was very personable . I Would recommend them to anyone.

My warranty company used Murray's but I would definitely use them again. They had to squeeze my new water heater into a very tight place.  When taking out old one they were very careful not to tear up the wall. Very polite, family owned and cleaned up when finished.

I had a quick response to schedule the visit. They called to let me know they were on their way. Arrived within the window.

Jeremy and Ray Senior were amazing. They explained the entire process before determining why there was a leak. They were friendly and respectful. They also wore mask for safety especially in these times.

They explained the cause of the leak and what's needed to fix it.

Awesome service. Thanks guys!

We discovered a leak coming from our ceiling on July 4th and we reached out to our Home Warranty service for assistance.  They assigned Murray's to us for assistance.  The next day, we received a call and they set us up for service on the following Monday.  Not only were Raymond and his father on time, they were friendly and efficient.  They determined the issue in minutes and not only fixed it, but offered to check our master bathroom which had the issue as well.  It was the overflow gasket which had never been replaced since the house was built.

Thank you so much for your professionalism and friendliness during a situation we most certainly were worried would potentially cost us thousands to get fixed.

Highly recommended!

My faucet was not literally broken, the piece on the inside of the handle was worn. Normal wear, not neglect. I was able to find dozens of YouTube videos with people having the same issue. Your technician was lazy and did not want to be bothered. I have used Sears through my home warranty with absolutely no issues.

Quite frankly I am appalled!  We have had a home warranty through AHS for 14 years.  On 9/20/2019 we placed a claim for a clogged tub which was assigned to Murray's Plumbing to resolve.  The plumber arrived, snaked the tub and resolved the issue.  On Monday 1/4/2021 we placed an identical claim with AHS which was again assigned to Murray's.  They arrived on 1/6/21 and stated that there was no way to snake the tub because there was no access point.  They did not attempt to snake the tub at all.  AHS would not authorize them creating an access point.  What is INFURIATING is that when we called Murray's and explained that they had done this exact work on 9/20/2019 they stated they had no records prior to 2020.  Again, I am APPALLED.  Same claim, same tub, same warranty..... completely different outcome = SHADY

Loved Jeremy and Dad they explained what needed to be done and why... They didn't try to overly complicate the situation by using  a bunch of jargon... very down to earth... they know their stuff ...educated me on quite a few things while they came for my sump pump... Dad shared knowledge on other items...  The young lady who called me back  to set up my appointment and to notify me that my techs were on the way was so nice .. I could hear the smile in her voice... I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future

On Sunday my water heater started leaking. I called American Home shield and they connected me with Murray's. Monday afternoon Morris came and met with my husband to give us a quote to replace my water heater. They advised me that the water heater was in fact covered under warranty, but in order for them to replace it my portion was going to be $931. This included a haul away fee of $100. I decided to call BGE home as I learned that it was in fact covered under warranty. BGE home install the water heater five years ago, so I thought maybe they could help me out. Needless to say, they came today to replace the water heater with a new one. I paid a total of $344.99 for all the work, including labor. The thing that I'm most shocked about the $150 fee Murray's was going to charge me to pull a county permit. Little do they know that yesterday I called my local county and found out how much the permit actually was. It was only $35. BGE home also quoted me a $35 permit fee. So how exactly did they inflate the fee to $150? This company has piss poor ethics. They lie and are frauds. Yep years ago they sent a dad and his son that decided to put a cigarette out at my front door! Do not use them if you are looking to have working completed by professionals. I understand businesses need to make money, but I think they are taking advantage of the system! Shame on them!

Had this plumber assigned through our home warranty (recently purchased house). They couldn't figure out how to fix a leak without demanding we demolition a large part of our kitchen. Lazy and uncreative. I understand they don't get paid much through home warrenties, but take that up through the company. They also are one of those businesses that give you an all day window of service, so be prepared to lose a lot of vacation time if you go with them!

Me and my husband have had a very bad experience and will never use/reccomend this company. Our water heater broke in october 2017 we had Murray's Plumbing coming and replacing the whole thing for a 600$ +100(home warranty) cost.
2 days later my utility room was flooded and we got back to them complaining about the poor service so they came and fixed and cleaned our basement. Meanwhile the water heater got rust on it and my dry wall somehow has mildew. Today my water heater is liking again! We called them again and they said it' s not their problem and if we want their service they require 75 $ just to get to the door. We did all this through HMS home warranty and we did not renew our contract because we are not happy with the people that they are sending out. Since my phone call was not angry enough I guess nobody took me that seriously and my husband decided to call every single number that he could to figure out how to fix this problem( called HMS that told us to call the Manufacturer first which solved the problem immediately, problem solved-water heater will be replaced.... BUT WAIT!!! got to the actual owner that after an angry voicemail message decided to get back to us. He called from a restricted number at 7: 02 pm (1h and a half later) The conversation did not end well of course and it just ruined our evening.
I believe owners of companies can do better that cussing out customers just because they do not like/accept what people are saying about their poor customer sevice, non hygienic  workers, ( - Is that rust ok on that side of the water heater? -Yes , that' s normal) and many more! Is too much to say about it and this company is not even worth that....

Their pricing is astronomical in comparison to other plumbers. They wanted to charge me a grand for stuff that should have been included in the original amount on top of whatever they got from the home warranty company (which I assume would have been around $800)... so essentially they were getting paid double the amount for a simple job. I found another company who would do the job, including all parts and upgrades, for around $1000. I took a cash-out from my home warranty company and wound up with about $500 out of pocket. The other company performed the job the next day and did absolutely superb work. I am so glad took a cash out from my home warranty company instead of giving money to this company who clearly are out to take advantage of people. They told me that certain parts were not up to code when they were, and the receptionist was not very professional or courteous. Get a second opinion before paying exorbitant prices, and do not blindly trust them to be honest.

Thanks so much for coming out and checking a potential plumbing problem in our basement.  We're thankful there was no major issue seen and appreciate that the plumber only made the hole in the ceiling big enough to check out the issue, making it easier to fix.  One less thing to worry about.  Thank you again.

This company was AWESOME. I appreciate that they showed up in masks. Ahead of the time that I thought they would be there. Took them 20 min to fix my problem which took my husband a hr to realize he couldn't fix it. Customer service was great. Not a lot of chit chat. Just straight to the point. I love these guys. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services. And will ask for them again always.

Murray's Plumbing and Heating has been to my home 2 times from my
Home Warranty Company.  He is the only person I request to do work in
my home.  He is not only very nice and polite.  Also, he is always on time and knows what the problem is and is super efficient in proceeding to do
the repair.  I also have Kohler parts in both of my bathrooms.  Lots of plumbers will not work on Kohler in that they think the valves are too complicated.  Murray's have no problem with that.  Very efficient and knowledgeable.  Call them and you will not be disappointed.

We chose this company due to our home warranty recommendation.  We needed our hot water heater replaced.  First of all, he went to the wrong address so I had to walk up the street to let him know he was at the wrong address.  Second, he complained about having to wait in line at Home Depot to exchange our water heater, which was under warranty.  He (GEORGE) then had a major attitude when I used the sink to wash my hands after he never told me I could not use the sink.  Also, he unplugged my washer to stop the cycle without asking first after I asked him if he wanted me to stop the washer before he started.  I will never use this company again, I shouldn't feel uncomfortable dealing with someone's attitude when I'm paying a pretty.  $800 to exchange the hot water heater (just for labor), luckily our warranty saved us money on the actual tank.

UPDATE:
After the water heater was replaced, one of our showers would only drip when turning it on, no water pressure whatsoever.  We called them back and I explained the problem to George, the technician (the same tech who did the initial job, known for his poor professionalism and attitude).  He told me that it had nothing to do with the water heater and that I would have to put in another ticket because this was a separate problem.  I explained that it was working just fine before the heater was replaced. He proceeded to ask me why I thought it was related to the water heater and I explained again that it was working completely fine before the water heater was replaced.  He had a complete attitude and made me feel like a complete idiot.  I am no expert which is why I expect help from the company I just paid $800 to.  Instead of fixing the problem they just created another one and made me feel like a complete idiot about it.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Basement flooded 2 times now and the guy they have working for them is incompetent and a liar. They've come out 3 times and the issue is still not fixed. The owner was very nice after the second service he sent his brother to fix the lid to the main pipe that the first guy lost the bolt to and just left laying on the ground hence the basement flooding the first time. I told him there was a blockage inside and he told me it was the county to fix. Now that there's water coming through the ceiling of my basement I have to wait until tomorrow between 8-4pm for someone to come out again.

The employees and the owner are an absolute nightmare. Referred through our home warranty, we had one of his plumbers come out and advise us that he could not access the plumbing without our hardwood floors being ripped up. We paid the deductible. Had our floors ripped up. The plumber came back, wrote up the synopsis as it being a pre-existing condition, and the warranty company denied the claim. At this point, our floors were ripped up and we had to come out of pocket for the cost of it being repaired, which the plumber quoted us as at 4 hours of work and $975.

We called the owner. He told us that the initial plumber who came out was old, and that he would send out a younger guy who could do the work in 2 hours and charge us $400. We were so grateful for this and accepted.

Two guys came out to do the repair. They came and assessed the pipe again, told us the old guy who initially assessed the issue makes a lot of mistakes in measurements, etc, and they wanted to come take a look at everything before they got the parts they needed. They left, came back, worked for 30 minutes, we paid them $400 and they left.

2 hours later, we flushed the toilets and the pipes were now leaking from a different place... a place they were not leaking from prior. We called the technician back and he quoted us another $400. We called the owner to try to understand why we would need to pay another $400 for a leak that wasn't there prior to the work they did. He was rude, defensive, short, and hung up on us. Then text us to tell us he would not do the work at all... and continued to text us unprofessionally and rudely for an hour.

I wish I had read these reviews prior! They are spot on.

Do not use this company!

Our toilet backed up and our home warranty company sent a tech from this company.  The guy snaked it and said it was fixed.  Five minutes after he left I went in and flushed and it was still blocked up.  I immediately called their office and the lady said that she would call the technician and have him call me.  That was at 1230 today and it is now almost 8pm.  I just got an email from the warranty company saying that they are denying our claim because the technician said that he was here twice.. LIAR... and he keeps pulling out wipes.  He never came back.  Nor did he call me.  Nor did he show me what he found when I supposedly unclogged it.  NEVER use this company!  I am going to let the warranty company know what kind of service they are sending to their valued customers!

EDIT:  Classy if you to publicly discuss my wife's surgery in a public forum.  But since you did, I will point out that you neglected to add that we told you she put the wipes in ziploc bags and disposed of them in the trash.  Why?  Well because we know better than to flush wipes.  Regardless, we told you that the issue we had with YOU was your customer service, not the denial by the warranty company.  Your tech said that toilet was fixed and left.  When it wasn't I called your office and your secretary said that the technician would call us.  He didn't do the job the first time.  I just wish I had read the 17/19 one star reviews first.

Our hot water heater stopped working. We were linked up with Murray's through American Home Shield. George, the plumber came out, flipped the switch for the heater (not the breaker), and asked for $75 - claimed that our switch was backwards. Didn't check the power or anything, nor did he wait around.

I had been back-and-forthing with the Murray's secretary and with representatives at AHS about time-frame and warranty information, so a lot of frustrated calls had been made to Murray's. After service was done, the plumber had the audacity to call me back and accused me of harassing the secretary.

These guys have been placed on our Refused Service list. Never again.

Edit: It turns out their plumber misdiagnosed the problem. It is Friday, and they claim to not be able to make it out until Monday. Screw this, they can keep their money, I am going with a different plumber.

Edit 2: I got in touch with a contractor (not affiliated with Murray's) who came out and discovered that our switch had burned out. He fixed the problem and now we have hot water - no thanks to Murray's.

Please mark this review as useful so I know if it gets read. Thank you.

I wish I could give negative stars. It started with a kitchen faucet that was slow to turn off. Plumber came and said to live with it, that is just how the faucet is. As soon as he left, it started continuously dripping and got worse and worse. He came again to fix it. He said it was a different problem so I had to pay again. I don't know what he did, but he made it so if we didn't put the faucet in just the right place with the right amount of pressure, it wouldn't turn off. I called Murray's again. They would not send another plumber from the company because it was this one plumber's job, so I had to wait for him to come back from vacation. (Ten days) So, the kids couldn't turn the sink off at all. I would find the water running all the time, and not just a little bit. It was almost at full pressure because the kids couldn't turn it off at all. The plumber returned from vacation and came today to put in the new faucet. It is Friday afternoon. Their voice mail mentions nothing about evenings and emergencies. What happened when he left? The sink gushes from the top of the garbage disposal and maybe somewhere else. Water was everywhere. It is the weekend. We have no use of the kitchen sink and I guess we can't use the dishwasher as well.  I am now begging my home warranty company to give me another company. If you want a small problem to turn into a big problem, and get charged each time, use Murray's Plumbing.

Update: I spoke to the owner just now (Tuesday). The same plumber came yesterday and fixed the gushing from the garbage disposal, but I somehow wound up with no hot water. Today, while trying to get the hot water fixed, the owner blamed me for having all these issues. When I said I didn't go under the sink cabinet and fiddle with anything or decide I wanted to mess up my 2 day vacation, he said it was my choice to not go on vacation and that somehow it was my fault I had these continuous problems. He said I could have gone on my two-day vacation over the weekend (the hotel was reserved for Monday). I have two very young children who are not old enough to understand being unable to use the sink for three weeks and turn the water on when they shouldn't.  My husband and I thought I could meet the plumber Monday and join them later. Then, Monday night I discovered the hot water didn't work so I am at home missing day two of our vacation, waiting for the plumber. The owner told me how to turn on the hot water knob, and was kind enough to give me a nice kick in the face for choosing to miss my vacation. Yes, I chose to stay and get my gushing leak fixed. It leaked onto the floor if the kids touched the faucet. Yes, it has been three weeks without a working kitchen sink. Yes, as a mom I need a working sink. It really wasn't a choice I wanted to make.

Lousy work and a nice kick in the face. Thanks! Please mark this review as useful so I know people saw it.

After our horrible experience with Affordable Plumbing and Drain cleaning,
(See my review for details) Murray's Plumbing and Heating was next day, on time, fixed not only the original plumbing problem, but also fixed the damage that Affordable caused. George was knowledgeable and even apologized for damage caused by the other company, and Dusty tirelessly ran back and forth to the truck. I couldn't be happier with Murray's Plumbing and Heating

We were referred to Murray's per our Home Warranty company, to look at our Water Heater.  Alan was the technician who came out.  He was very professional, explained everything he was doing, at each step of the way.   He told me that he would not leave until we both were satisfied that my Water Heater was working properly again.  Sure enough, he stayed until it all worked again.  He ended up replacing the Thermostat and Upper Element, but did explain that our WH was a bit on the older side and hinted that it might want to be replaced at some point soon.  No complaints here.  Would recommend using them again :-)

I wish I could give negative reviews.  I have had them in my house 3 times now.  Twice for the same water heater, which Jeremy couldn't find anything wrong with, in spite of the fact that the red light was blinking and the water heater didn't work.  Told me after the second time that if it happened again he would ask the HMS warranty to get a new water heater.

Now, two weeks later the water heater light is on again, this time with an inch or two of water all over our floors.  Ruined the carpets and the pergo floors.  We had to turn off all water to the house and drain the whole house of water to get it to stop leaking.  They say they will come TOMORROW to look at it (called them at 2 pm).  The secretary told me that Jeremy was far away on other jobs and couldn't get here.  Called Jeremy ourselves and found out he was actually at home but wasn't going back in to work today.

According to them the damage isn't their fault because the red light means that the heater has an electrical problem, but now we have a leak and that is unrelated, even though the red light is on now, too.  HMS won't cover the damage and Murray's is ridiculous.  HMS can't even get us another damn plumber.

I had no choice, this was a home warranty assigned company. The guy,Allan had no clue what he was even looking for. This was a issue with my tubs plumbing.I'm in a rancher with a finish basement with a drop ceiling. This guy kept talking about he couldn't see the plumbing,I explain that there's a plywood subfloor between the 2 level. He couldn't understand.Granted this not a simple job.I'm in the flooring business for 30 years, your reputation is how your business thrives. You never LIE on the customer if you can't handle the job.I was denied by the home warranty company,I called them the next day. I said Murray Plumbing are not very professional, some technician(old guy) doesn't know he trade very well.It sad,I couldn't have pick my own company. My choice would have been Len's Plumbing all day.

If I could rate this company with negative numbers you'd get a -100 for theft and dishonesty!!

If a worker named Jeremy is still employed with for your company he stole the sticker off of my elderly mother's water heater to replace it (since it was broken) and refuses to replace the water heater and refuses to turn the sticker back to her!

Ray, the owner of the company ended up getting on the phone with her, called her a liar on the phone & telling her she was bypassing things on the water heater causing it to malfunction (which she never touched) Ray also told her she's trying to get a free water heater from their company and hung up on her since her cricket is now conveniently missing from the unit. My mother's 63 years old, she doesn't mess with appliances & has no idea how they work, obviously that's why she called a company she thought she could trust.

In the end she ended up getting royally screwed! Something was taken from her, she was called a liar, hung up on, & ended up having to buy a new hot water heater since the sticker was taken off hers & not returned.

HORRIBLE COMPANY, DONT WASTE YOU'RE TIME OR MONEY

We moved into a condo that had a HMS Home Warranty.  Our toilet broke and I immediately called the warranty company who set up an appointment with Murray's Plumbing for the next day.  I asked if there was any chance of them coming today but they were booked.  Within 1 hour I received a phone call saying they could fit me in between 9 and 1.  They called me and said they were on way, introduced themselves and were terrific.  Hats off to Jeremy and Ray!  They were prompt, efficient and so nice.  I will definitely use this company again. Also, want to say the lady on the phone was also lovely!!!

Murray's received a contract  from American Home Shield Insurance for a water leak.  After calling and going back and forward for 6 days for a water leak.  The woman/receptionist who answered the phone was short, rude, impatient, and condescending.  (I'm sure she is divorced/dumped several times with a possible midlife crisis) hung up on me because I couldn't be at home waiting for them for 9 hrs. I told her not to come to my house.  9 days later they came to my house and called me without and appointment.  I told the woman that they can leave my house, I told American Home Shield that they were not very nice company.  The woman spoke to my wife and lied to my wife so they can have their sheet signed as if they came and did their job.  She told my wife that I cursed her out (liar) and lied some more after I told them to leave.  Murray's needs a new and  good receptionist that won't lie or be unpleasant. Plus they can be a little flexible with customers work hours.

I woke up to find water on my bathroom floor and it was coming from under my sink. I contacted my home warranty and they connected me to Murray's Plumbing. I had not had any experience with this company but I knew I needed someone as soon as possible. I turned off my water valve to the bathroom and I was told the plumber  would be out to me between 10am-2pm. I was prepared to go to work but I was willing to wait. The person from the company called me to confirm that the plumber would be in my area soon at 10:30am and the plumber arrived quickly and was kind when he arrived. He assessed the leak and gave me his plan of action to fix the leak. He informed me of the reason for the leak and that he had the replacement parts in his truck. The pipe had cracked, was rusted and was leaking water. His name was Al and he went outside to prevent tHe rust and gunk from getting all over my bathroom and he was able to pull the old piping out of the PVC pipe and replace all required parts. He cleaned up for the most part after himself and gave his advice on the water damaged areas. I was happy to see that the leak was no longer an issue. I am still monitoring the area to be sure that the leak will not come back. I was surprised by the bad reviews but I told Al that I'm not the kind of person to have good service and not speak up. I am a true yelper and  customer service is big in my opinion. It's hard to get good help so I will update my review if the leak comes back but I hope I won't need to.

I am completely dissatisfied and frustrated with Murray's. They were the only plumber recommended by home warranty company that was sent to my home to look at my leaking water heater. I contacted them first thing Friday morning and was told no one could come out until Saturday morning. That was fine with me, I assumed it would get fixed over the weekend.

My complaint is that MURRAY'S PLUMBING AND HEATING LLC was going to charge me an astronomical out-of-pocket expense, stating the hot water heater was not up to code and that they would need to do the work to bring it up to code. My expenses would have totaled $840! And, he said the hot water needed to be turned off and that they couldn't get it fixed until Tuesday.  I have 18 month old twins, I have to have hot water.

I just bought this house 4 months ago and had a fantastic home inspection and the hot water heater was/is indeed code compliant.  I did not feel comfortable hiring MURRAY'S at this point, so I found another local plumbing company who came highly recommended and spoke with someone on the phone who got me set up for a Monday morning appointment.  His assessment was that the tank had not ruptured and thus a weekend crew would not need to come out and that saved me from additional costs.  I appreciated his honesty.  The Monday morning inspection of the tank was completely different than that of MURRY'S. He said there were no code violations AND he brought a tank with him! Imagine that! He came prepared.  It was replaced in under 2 hours with my out of pocket labor expenses being $354.

I am appalled with both MURRAY'S and now, Long And Foster Home Warranty for recommending what I feel is a dishonest company and for not providing more reputable options to the customer.

I requested my $100 back from the warranty company and waiting to hear. I'm not sure why they even wasted my time, to come to my home and not be able to do anything until Tuesday. But now I see why. I feel very taken advantage of and lucky that I had a feeling something wasn't quite right with their estimate.  I can't imagine how many other people have been
up-sold, or falsely charged bogus out-of-pocket expenses.

I would recommend that you take a look at MURRAY'S PLUMBING AND HEATING,LLC reviews and consider other companies.

BEWARE. This company is unprofessional, lazy and they lie. They only want to get paid from the warranty company to come assess the problem but not fix it. They lied to my warranty company and said my faucet was physically and forcefully damaged. Which was a lie, all because they didn't have the part to fix it, and was too lazy to come back out. After all they were already paid by the warranty company, so why come back a second time. I'm completely discussed with their customer service. I had another company come and take a look at it, and fixed the problem on site. It was a simple fix, a washer that needed to be replaced, and they had the part with them. They even went the extra mile to order me a new faucet head in case it leaked again in the future because they found out it was still under warranty. At no extra cost. Again this was another company that came to take a second look at it. That's what you call good customer service. Not Murray's trash company. Please reconsider if your warranty company recommends Murray's to you.

Terrible service and they will rip you off.
Will never use them again
Terrible and they will rip you off. Will never use them ever again. Technician used my wife's shirt to clean up his message and left it on the floor. I had to tell him to check the heating elements with a tester, while he said that he need to fill the laundry tub with hot water to see how much hot water I have. And they call themselves professionals. He filled the whole tub with hot water and said you are good the water heater is fine. I had to push him to check the elements and when he did one was bad. What a joke. This guy was in a hurry, that he did not want to use the drain from the water heater because he said that it is draining very slow, so he stuck a hose with a metal end inside the water heater where the heating element was and kept poking in there. He finished installed everything. I called the company to put a complaint about this technician, but the call only went to the person who answered the phone. Next morning my basement was all wet and flooded, called back for service and requested another technician, which the company sent me a manager, which I felt better. What a mistake they told me that it is not their falt about what happened and the glass liner is broken and I need a new water heater, on top what they are going to claim from my insurance to replace the water heater, they said I need to pay additional $945.00 plus the $100.00 deductible and they will not take responsibility for the water leak, that I had to spend more money to get it cleaned. Do not use this company, they will rip you off.

I had a wonderful experience with Murray's. They got here quickly, they were professional, and polite. My water heater and plumbing flooded my basement friday morning. As soon as i reached out they were here within the hour. I am a licensed daycare provider and explained to them the importance of getting issues resolved as soon as possible in order for me to be able continue servcing my customers. They were very understanding of my needs and fixed all of my problems first thing Monday morning. They answered all of my questions. They were very knowledgeable about my county's new regulations and requirements. Their pricing was average. I would definitely recommend them to any customer who has plumbing issues and water heater problems.

Horrible service.

Once I submitted my claim with my home warranty company, they came out quickly but needed to order the part and would call me when it came in. 2 days later, I received an email that claim was resolved and I was billed the deductible.  I provided a 1 star feedback to my warranty company using their survey.  I called the warranty company and they told me to call Murrays, so I did. They claim that they never closed the claim and we scheduled the follow up appt for the following Thursday. The Tuesday before, I received a disgruntled call from Murray's asking why I gave them a 1 star rating. I couldn't even explain before he hung up on me. Come to find out that my appt for Thursday was cancelled and I sat around the house for nothing. Murrays blamed the warranty company for cancelling the appt.

NEVER AGAIN!!

HORRIBLE! NEVER use this company. Use a professional.

Murray's plumbing was sent through American Shield Home warranty (they will be replaced when my warranty expires). I've never experienced such unprofessional, rude, unskilled, and unqualified service in my life. These people want your money, they do not want your business. They have a contract with AHS, are guaranteed $75 for just showing up at your door, and exploit it.

The rude plumber Al walked in and declared that nothing was causing both of our leaks except that they need a little tightening, asked for the $75 and was ready to leave. When informed that the leaks were inside the walls he declared that we should get buckets and try to drain our pipes. It was unbelievable. I would go on and on but I'll just say the owner stands by his incompetent plumber. He doesn't believe in customer service. He knows he's got a good thing taking advantage of the AHS contract.

I'll done with both companies.

This is the second time this company has been in my home. Both times an older gentlemen has shown up trying to rush in and rush right out. He does not listen to us. And he does not communicate well, as he just grumbles rather quickly. He was here most recently for a garbage disposal issue and two small leaks. He tried to leave without addressing the leaks saying he didn't see any leaks. I literally had to point out the active leak to him. He quickly replied that it was a crack in garbage disposal resulting from the jam we had. I told him the leak was preexisting but he filed his report with our home warranty company saying that our jam was the issue so now they won't cover the disposal. I called the office and was informed that he cannot take our word that the leak predated the jam. I get it. But if you can't prove it one way you shouldn't just chalk it up to another. With the amount of buildup around the crack, it's obvious that the leak predated the two day Jam we had that locked up our disposal. I will not use this company again. It's obvious that they are not sending their best but instead are sending their part time retirees to collect the home warranty check.

Awful experience, they did arrive on time, but diagnosed my plumbing issue as a broken main drain. I had a second company come out and the cleared the clog with no issue. They also charged me $225.00 to remove the toilet. So, they took a $100.00 deductible from me for my home warranty, charged me $225.00, and left with a speculation of a broken pipe, and out $325.00. I would recommend them unless you want to be taken advantage of.

Murray's was assigned our job through our warranty company; save yourself the trouble and hire someone else. Our claim was denied, we were still going to give them the job of installing a new hot water heater, but they were not able to do so for a week. We needed hot water so went with another company, when I contact Murray's for the records of the denial and asked for a letter stating what happened to the water heater, I was very rudely talked to by Ray, called names and hung up on. And now he threatened to call the warranty company and tell them there are things wrong that we were never informed about.

Please whatever you do, do not contact this company for repairs AT ALL. I called them to repair my hot water tank. The technician came out and stated that all I needed was my pilot light lit. After he repaired my pilot light, the water tank started leaking which it was not doing prior to this technician touching my water heater. This company then tells me that's a whole new issue and will cost me additional money. They are absolutely the worst....

I complained Murray Plumbing about what I thought was a premature diagnosis and report to my warranty company that resulted in a denied claim.  I complained to the owner.  He was very nice about it.  He explained some details about plumbing to me and even sent his brother over to verify the diagnosis.  It turned out that I was wrong and they were right.  They helped me fix the problem.  Everyone they sent to me house did a fine job -- including the first guy who diagnosed the problem.  Thanks for your patience in dealing with a grumpy customer who was wrong.

After being on hold for over an hour, and many other issues with American Home Shield (AHS), I received a call from Murray's Plumbing and Heating to schedule an appointment (third appointment for the same work order; which it is AHS fault). The Murray's Plumbing representative (a woman) asked me to explain the reason for the service request. Naturally, I was irritated by that, I had spent the last hour on hold and another 30 minutes explaining to three different AHS representative the reason for the service request; which I had done many times over the past month. Not to mention the 20 mins. I was on hold while AHS explained the problem to Murray's Plumbing before sending the work order.  As I attempted to explain the reason for my irritation was not her fault, she began to loudly speak over me, refused to accept the work order, and hang up. Absolutely unacceptable behavior for a service company, or any customer service representative.

Lazy and unethical. Was sent out by my home warranty company about an odor that was coming from my toilet. He spent a total of 3 minutes trying to convince me that it probably wasn't my toilet. I had asked him to lift the toilet up to make sure the wax seal was still in place in case my family and I were being exposed to sewage gas. He refused stating the warranty company doesn't pay for this and I would have to pay him $150 out my pocket. He  claimed to have gone to the car to call the warranty company and they told him they wouldn't cover this. But get this, he still expected me to pay him the $50 deductible! The services he provided..walked up two flights of stairs and a 3 minute conversation. Too lazy to do the diagnostic work, but had no problem collecting money for zero services provided. My issue wasn't resolved or even attempted to get resolved. I called my warranty company and they are sending another plumbing company and waiving my deductible. I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone!

Truly awful!

We were connected with this company through our home warranty company.  Our ceiling was wet one morning and we needed a plumber.  The plumber came out and told me that the reason for the problem was that tile was loose in the bathroom and water was getting through.  I was also told that he was 100% certain it is not a pipe.  Well, today it rained and for the last 2 hours a contractor has been cutting open my ceiling looking for the leaking pipe.  Clearly not a tile issue.  This company is completely unorganized and no one is ever there to answer the phone and you have to leave a message and wait for someone to call you.  They also don't understand the meaning of urgent as they give me a window of 4 hours.  If water is leaking, 4 hours is hardly as soon as possible.  Will never do business with these people again!

Does this company really need another 1 star review to make the point? YES. It's that bad, please avoid at all costs. This company hit on every single problem available - terrible rude customer service, very bad plumbing advice, high pricing and even highly unfair business practices. I could explain but why bother, this guy doesn't deserve anyone's time. The fact that it one person came here to write a half positive review should tell you something.

After a terrible beyond terrible experience with our warranty company's first selected plumber (H & K Plumbing), I was quite nervous to see what service we'd get with our second time. However, this second go-round was completely the opposite. We were having issues with a shower knob, and Al was extremely helpful in getting that fixed. He was friendly, efficient, and explained what he was doing while working on fixing the problem. Very happy with the results!

Awful! They were assigned to us by our home insurance company and we were so desperate to get someone out because our toilet kept overflowing, that I didn't bother checking any reviews are trying to get someone else. They came out, said we needed an extra $275 service that was essential and the insurance wouldn't cover. Of course we said OK. After all was said and done they said we needed an additional VERY BIG and expensive job. Fortunately they couldn't do the job. I called around and Wes Plumbing told me over the phone to have the county come out and have them clean the line (which they did for free inside 30minutes of my calling) and call him back and let him know how it goes. Amazing! It completely 100% fixed our issue. Wouldn't have had to pay anything at all or ever have Murray's out in the first place. Will know better next time. Call the county first! Apparently people are supposed to do that every year! Who knew!?!? Certainly not Murray's (and if they know, they keep that a big secret)!!!

I will never recommend this plumbing and heating company to anyone.  I had no hot water and water was leaking from under the unit.  My home warranty company HMS sent this company out to repair my hot water heater which was leaking and no hot water.  An older and young guy came out.  Told me that the hot water tripped the breaker.  So I asked what caused the hot water heater to automatically turn itself off. The older guy said how would he know it could have come from a storm.  There wasn't any storm before this happened.  Also everything in the breaker would have tripped. So I was charged $100 deductible for him turning on the hot water heater in the breaker box.  Mind you water still in the pan that sits under the unit.  I called HMS home warranty to complain about the problem and they sent this same company as a recall.  The same 2 guys returned a week later.  I asked why was water left under the unit and the answer was that they didnt have a wet vac to get the water out of the pan. As a result, my son and I used old towels to remove the standing water. Meanwhile the unit was still leaking. Then without opening up anything on the unit, the older guy said Oh you may need a new expansion tank and I dont think that's covered under warranty.  I was not giving this company another dime of my money,   Long story short, weeks later another contractor was sent out and resolved the issue in a matter of minutes. He also explained what was happening and that the unit needed to be replaced. SMDH!!  Horrible Horrible company!

Last week, my hot water heater stopped working. I have a home warranty  through American Home Shield who sent out Murray's Plumbing. They got back to me in less than a day, came to the house, assessed the situation, turned off the water supply, and said they would get back to me when the repair was authorized (in 3 business days). However, they failed to drain the water heater, so a couple days later, one of my kids noticed that the wall to wall carpeting in the adjacent room was sopping wet. Ray Murray, the owner, said they won't do anything about it because it's American Home Shield's responsibility to notify me that it would need to be drained. I called AHS, who told me that Murray's should have drained it to prevent damage to the house. It actually states that in the contractor agreement. So now I have to file a claim against Murray's, and based on my experience with them so far, I can just imagine how that's going to go.

Was assigned Service through American home shield. Plumber came out and did half the job and told me he had to order parts. More than a week went by with no call back. Had to call AHS and complain  to even get them back to finish.  Mind you he didn't order new parts. Service is poor I will never use again.

I was connected to Murray's through my home warranty company to simply come out to clear a drain.  Their plumber came out and was unable to clear the drain, while in the process he cracked the pvc pipe for the trap behind my sink.  There was no issue with a leak before they came and now the sink will not stop leaking.  I called to report the issue.  At that time they immediately attempted to discredit me and say there was no way they could have cracked the pipe.  Again, there was no issue with a leak before they arrived.  Their customer service was awful.  DO NOT use their services!  They have been nothing but awful!

Absolutely worthless! Plumber came out, was in my bathroom for about 45 seconds, took my $70, and left. Did not fix the issue, nor could he even give us an IDEA of what could be causing our shower head to shake and lack pressure. He didn't offer any suggestions, cost expectations, or what could be done to fix it. This place is a JOKE. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBING COMPANY!

This Company shouldn't even have a 1 star rating.  I have HMS and a deductible of $100.00.  They came out the next day looked at my plumbing under the kitchen sink for less than 2 minutes took my $100.00 check never called back till my wife had to call and find out when they were coming to fix our kitchen sink, They said it was denied without even letting us know. I didn't want to get ripped off $100.00 bucks which should go to HMS. I could have use that $100.00 to fixed it myself so I had my bank not pay it and make in an NSF Murry's Plumbing sends me this attorney letter for a bad check. This company is a total rip off and I would not recommend this company  - They will rip you off a $100 bucks.  - Easy $100,00 ever made.  Now they are trying to take me to court.   Wait till I show them our Home Inspection with the picture showing the plumbing in good shape.  i will never recommend this company to anyone unless you want to just give them your money for free.

They told us we had an appointment between 9am and 1pm on a Saturday, but they would call at 8am to let us know what time they're coming. They came at 8am, and since we were not at the property at 8am, they cancelled. No big deal. But when I called to reschedule, the owner gets on the phone and starts talking over me telling me in a nasty, almost yelling tone, about how he loses $175 bucks anytime the customer cancels. Eventually I asked him if I could please have a moment to speak without him interrupting. I asked if he could please consider scheduling me for a Saturday, very nicely, and explained that I really did not cancel the Saturday appointment but there was a mix-up. He refused. When I asked him why he would treat a potential customer this way, he said he has thousands of other customers. While we were on the phone I looked him up on Yelp and saw the 1 star ratings, and I mentioned that to him - he said he will just write a response to each one. #winning
