Always prompt, always courteous, extremely professional.

We had a recent sewage backup and toilet overflow, both within days, neither related to each other. They have the equipment and know-how to diagnose the problem accurately and matter-of-factly. They tell me they've even resolved marital disputes!

We've dealt with various contractors over the years and we've found our go-to guys for two things. Plumbing is one of them.

f these guys!, they try to sell me a garbage disposal for 1100 bucks! I call them for a slow drain nothing is wrong with my disposal! They came out, wrote down 5 options starting from 600 bucks to 1100 wtf! And didn't even touch my sink. Really!? 600 bucks to snake a sink!?!

Had a clog in our shower on first floor. Worker came examined pipes and cleared clog. Mentioned the pipes in kitchen were slightly pitched and redoing is something we might want to consider. He didn't think that was the cause but said it's possible. Gave us quote and after speaking to him I felt confident it wasn't necessary and causing the issue. He was very knowledgable and patient explaining everything and gave some tips. Overall I was very impressed. He even cleaned the shower after!

About 3 months later, we had food coming up the shower. Found it odd since we decided to not use the disposable up until that point. We were cautious about putting food down that is only recommended, doing so very slowly, and ran water 2 minutes after to keep it flushing down. Figured it was a fluke incident. This kept happening here and there. We decided to stop using the disposal since it must be causing a problem. Now the shower is backed up again out of no where.

So I decided to give them a call and hope they stand behind their work. It seemed apparent the initially clog might have not been 100% cleared. It just seemed to back up so soon after. I talked to Mike and he informed me they only have a 30 day guarantee. He said they can't control what goes down there after that point which it understandable. I tried my best to explain the issue which is what you have read up to this point. He denied that the clog had not been properly cleared because they ran water. Yes, water will successfully go down a drain if partially cleared. If it was, there wouldn't be things coming up so soon. He said in his notes it was recommended to redo the pipes and we denied so it's not his problem. I told him what the tech said and if it was really the issue we would have had it done. The goal was to completely address the problem and fix it once and for all. I trust what the tech explained to me and I believe we made a well informed decision- to this day. He was excellent. I suppose Mike didn't want to be accountable for the possibility the snaking didn't completely get the clog. Mistakes happen. All he was willing to do was a snaking for $150, no warranty. We declined after I spoke to my husband and I told him how the conversation went. He was border line rude and condescending at times. Once I misspoke and said, It started clogging again 30 days after instead of 3 months later. He said, Ohhh!! So now it's 30 days huh? Make up your mind. First it's 3 months and now it's 30!!. I told him I misspoke and there was no need to be rude. It was very upsetting to be accused of being dishonest for misspeaking. I wrapped up the conversation since I was getting beyond frustrated and being rude back. We just wanted this issue properly addressed and fixed the first time around. So maybe there was a mistake made on their behalf. I don't understand why Mike couldn't own up to this possibility. So in the end, I wouldn't recommend. If the service works out, you'll be fine. If not, you might be in a similar situation. We had another company come out and the clog is cleared. He confirmed that the kitchen pipes were not causing the problem. He solved the cause immediately. The pricing was much better. If I went with this company the first time, I could have saved so much. He also figured out why the kitchen sink was leaking. All's well that ends well. I at least owe a thanks for Mike for speaking quite a while to me. Hopefully this review will help potential clients receive better service in the future. Maybe this company can learn that mistakes can happen and give clients the benefit of the doubt. We unfortunately were not so lucky.

Today was my second encounter with Mikes Plumbing and Heating in Colorado Springs.  We live in an apartment complex.  Last week our heat was running non stop, even with the system shut off. Tech came out and fixed the problem.  My girlfriend said he was very rude. Fast forward a week later to the snow and colder temps.  I turn the heat on and nothing!  Our heater went from running non stop to not running at all.  Our complex again called Mikes Plumbing and Heating to come check it out.  This was reported at 4:30pm,  the repair men did not show up until 11:30pm!   Who the hell shows up at 11:30pm on a tuesday night to fix a heater! Not only did they show up at an unreasonable time, they tech was again rude.  The only good thing they did was leave me two space heaters to keep my apartment warm for the night.  Would have given them 0 stars if it was an option.

I own a few rental properties and use a property management company to manage them. Had a bad hot water valve under the sink in the kitchen. Since the condo was old I decided to change both hot and cold water valves and also both valves on 2 bathrooms so I wouldn't have to deal with any future problems. My management company uses Mike's plumbing so they sent them out to do the job. The bill was $644!!!. 6 water valves!!! Paid by my management company and I paid them but I couldn't believe it so I asked the management company for the bill, it said 5 hours labor. 5 Hours for 6 water valves????. So I called my tenant and asked him, guess what he said?? 2 hours. Yep 2 hours. Next time I'll find my own plumbing company. As soon as I finish posting this I will be calling my management company and letting them know what happened, hopefully they will be using another plumbing company too.

I wouldn't give much consideration to the negative reviews- this company is the Baltimore's best plumbing company for a reason.  I've used them twice- their plumbers are clean, neat, highly trained and they stand behind their work!  If you're comparing their prices with some Craigslist plumber without a license and without the proper skills- yes, Mike's will seem more expensive.  If quality, reputation and professionalism matters- pay a few extra dollars and get the job done right.  I'd never use any other company.

I have the same complaint in regards to a garbage disposal replacement. Was offered 4 options starting from 600 to 1000 bucks. which was way over what we wanted, but I have used Mikes in the past so decided since I had a good experience prior I would trust them again. Unfortunately I shouldn't have. I asked for a breakdown of cost of unit and labor and was told they cant give that to me as the charge a per job price so again I trusted them however after installing the new garbage disposal (I chose the 600 option) I decided to research the unit that they installed and I found that its less than 100.00 !!!! so that would be 500 for labor costs. That is absolutely ridiculous and extremely uncalled for.  Note to anyone that wants to use Mikes, take your time and research the cost of what they will be using as parts before determining to go with them as your plumbing servicer. I will no longer be using Mikes and I will be sure to spread the word of our recent experience.

They sent someone out to fix a no heat issue in an apartment.  While the guy was there, he told me he was not a heating tech, then he called the office to have someone walk him through troubleshooting the problem.
I'm charged $85/hr for a guy who admits he doesn't know what he's doing???

Called Mike's because the water heater pilot would not stay lit and the sticker was on the water heater. $19.95 appearance fee. Great phone people, great follow up, tech, Chris, showed up on time but he looks at the water heater for a second and says it's about 10 years old and about time to replace it. Water heaters last 10-15 years. This one is 10 years old in 3 days. I say I'd rather not if possible and I would like it if he would at least look at it. I leave him to look at but instead he just writes for about 10 minutes and then tells me $179. to re-lite the pilot and who knows from there along with a story about how much of a problem it could be. He never even touched the water heater, didn't even test the pilot lite switch, he just looked at it. It does not appear to be in bad repair or anything. I told him I would pay him his $20 and we'll call it a day. So, call it a bad tech, bad communication, either way they got me for $20 and I called someone who explained the issue, took the model number, ordered the possible part in question and is on the way.

So I called Mike's for a quote I need a new p trap I think it's called and my pop up adjusted. That is about a 25 min job. So tech comes in checks it out want to come upstairs and sit in my kitchen to draw up a quote takes almost 30 mins to do. ( I'm thinking this is not the company for me) so comes back with 4 or 5 different numbers. I thinking dude it's a extremely small job! So the quote run for over $500 to $380 just to put a bandaid on the situation. So I said I'm not paying more then $200. He also tried to sell me some type of protection plan on a $20 piece of pipe smh. He calls his manager he takes $50 more off. I'm like okay time to get out of my house. Cost $20 bucks to be told a quote that was unaffordable. Long story short had a master plumber come in and get the job done in 20 mins flat for $175. I would have really been upset if these where the ppl I called in a emergency. Call someone else!!!!!

Just had a horrible experience with this family run business.  Beware!  They will charge you an exorbitant price and overkill with trying to sell you all these package/bundled plans that are ridiculous for what should be a straightforward job.  My elderly mother's old wall sink in her powder room was deteriorating, so my brother provided the new sink/vanity to have a new one installed.  They wanted $1400 to remove and replace!  And they sold her a $250 faucet.  Who needs a $250 faucet.  We have Delta faucets in our home for under $100 and they're just fine.  My husband and I live in the Washington DC area (typically expensive) and had the same job done, an old sink, for $300 and we too provided the sink/vanity/faucets so this was just for labor and that was the total bill.  I even called yet another reputable plumbing company in our area to see if I'd get a much different quote.  Nope, their answer-$300-$400 and seniors get a 10% discount!  Unfortunately, my brother signed the contract without reading everything--his bad.  When he called Mike back a couple days later to complain, he said this guy was very defensive, not the least bit interested in his dissatisfaction, no offer to reduce the price, and threatened my brother that he had signed the contract. Wow!  Lesson learned.

Mike's Plumbing and Heating installed a new water heater in our home, they were professional, clean, knowledgeable and fast. I have rarely read any negative reviews on Mike's Plumbing and believe the reviews on Yelp are not always trustworthy. In my experience, you're better off checking the Better Business Bureau and Google reviews.

We called Mike's Plumbing after an expert installer from L*we$ snapped off the water supply line behind the kitchen wall while installing a new dishwasher.  Mike sent over Charlie in less than 30 minutes.  We couldn't have asked for a nicer and more professional plumber!  And he wasn't even showing a standard plumber's butt crack (LOL).

He got right to work and fixed the problem in record time!

If you need a plumber that is personable, professional, and knows his trade - call Mike's and ask for Charlie - you'll be glad you did!!
