Barth Electric came through for my employer. We needed a couple power outlets/data drops installed, scheduling and billing was easy.

In addition, we had an issue with a data drop because I forgot to direct them to do some patching in our server room, and a tech was sent out in a business day who worked with our office manager and networking department to solve the issue.

Will use again forsure.

An electrician named Kevin B. from Barth Electric saved me: no power--no furnace, stove, hot water heater--on a 35 degree day. Arrived quickly, knew right away what was going on, fixed the problem. Professional, courteous, knowledgeable. Will definitely be using again. Also appreciate their using masks right now.

So, this is a complicated review. I have used Barth Electric for a few jobs. The first job was installation of a Tesla Wall charger - it was a more detailed job as they had to install another circuit panel (other two were full), plus run a 100 amp line through basement, up to garage and across ceiling. They did a great job on this in a timely fashion at a reasonable price. I also had them install a GFI outlet on our outside deck (short run from tapping an existing line in our screened in porch). For this, they charged $250 and it was done at the same time as the Tesla charger install. Again, price seemed generally fair.

My concern was on a subsequent service call. We had a service call on 9/1/16. I was having issues with the GFI Barth installed for the deck. The GFI was tripped and I was unable to get it to reset. After trying to troubleshoot myself and checking the circuit breaker I called Barth to arrange a service call.

They had someone in the area on Sept. 1 (about 4-5 days after I called) and they called me to say he would be out to check it. As it turns out, I had overlooked another GFI plug that was on the exterior brick wall of the house, inside the sunroom. The plug was located in the upper corner of the wall near the ceiling behind a speaker, so I did not know it was there. The technician saw this, pushed the reset switch on that one and everything was fine.

I completely understand the need to charge for the service call, but here is my concern. We were charged $225. My wife called and was told the minimum service call was 1 hour @ $135. I understand that and would not argue over that. The technician apparently entered a bill indicating that he was onsite for 2 hours. That is not true. We have a Ring Video Doorbell that automatically records people coming to the front door via a motion detector and sends an alert to our mobile devices. I was alerted to his arrival by this (although he knocked on the door rather than ringing the door bell) - I called my kids who were at home as I was concerned they would not hear his knocking from their bedrooms in the far corner of the home.

The video record shows that he arrived at 933 am and departed at 1005 am, 32 minutes rather than the 2 hours of time for which we were charged.

When I called about this I was told that the 2 hour charge entered by the technician was inclusive of travel time. I have to say that it seems odd to be billed for the service person's travel time to the home. It is hard to understand how it took him 90 minutes to reach us from his earlier job, especially in light of the fact that we were specifically told that they could not schedule a service date for us, but that we would be contacted when they had a service person in the area already.

Had some work done and no problem. Wanted additional work done and it was filled with problems.  Electrician checked out what we wanted done next and gave a ballpark estimate but said his boss would call the next day to confirm the details and give a firm estimate.
Waited a week but no call.  I called had to leave a message for him.  Waited 3-4 days but he didn't call. Called back had to leave him another message. Waited nearly another week.  No call back.  Called again.  Left another message.
Finally nearly a month later I get to talk to him.  He said the job would take 3-4 hours. He then said Mary did the scheduling. And she'd call.    Again it took another couple of weeks to finally get in touch with her.
Got it scheduled.  
The guy came. Made a mess.  Didn't clean it up.
After 8 1/2 hrs we told him the forget the last thing he was to do (install an extra outlet) as this has taken way too long and since we were paying an hourly rate too it was going to cost way more than we expected. He said he was into overtime at this point and got in trouble when he did that.
His attitude all day was surly.
He said he had to check something in the garage then something in the living room.   30 minutes passed and he hadn't come back in so we went to check on him.  He had just left!  
It was now after hours so I contacted the office the next day.  Mary was not very pleasant.  I said I need to know how much I owed.  She found out and told me to just mail a check.  I said I would after I received an itemized statement from them with the stated warranty.
It took a month for them to send it and she had the address slightly incorrect.
All in all a very disappointing and expensive experience
Do not recommend them at all.

Barth Electric completed minor items in my home from an inspection report, charging a couple hundred dollars for work that other electricians quoted at $600-$1,600. Adam was prompt, courteous and fast. I highly recommend Barth, especially if you don't want to get nickeled and dimed.

We called Barth following a wind storm.  Our power had gone out and when it was restored there was no power going to our furnace.  Barth came out, when they said they would.  The Tech located the problem, it was with our generator panel.  He by-passed the faulty panel and said they would get back with us regarding the cost of the final repair as he was not sure if the faulty part could be replaced or if the entire panel would have to be replaced.  That was 6 weeks ago and we have heard nothing from them until today when we received a bill for the service performed.  I called twice to ask about the final repair and never received a phone call back.  After weeks of hearing nothing we contacted another company to complete the repair.  I would never use this company again as I have no patience with a company that cannot communicate with me.  I was extremely unhappy with the customer service we received from Barth Electric.  I realize this may not have been a large repair that we going to net them a huge profit, but if they don't want to do residential work they should not advertise that they provide that type of work.  I'm giving them 2 stars ONLY because the Tech did arrive on time, did locate the problem and did get the furnace going.  I have no problem with the Tech.  The problem is with whoever was supposed to quote the repair and get back with us.  I will not use this company again and don't recommend them favorably to anyone else.
