STAY AWAY. In summary, Service Air Conditioning & Plumbing is really running a scam to take advantage of your need to repair your AC. Their troubleshooting price is twice market price and they include a fraudulent Truck Charge. Get a quote from any other reputable AC repair company and compare it. The staff refuses to provide a pre-work estimate (purposely) and then demands the money before they leave. The owner or upper level management, Nick, is extremely unprofessional, rude and aggressive to his clients. I agree with the other reviewers here and would stay far away from this place. Below is my experience:
First technician came for ~40 minutes and when asked how much the job would cost, he replied that it would depend on what needs to be done but he did not know what would need to be done. He would know after he contacted the Fujitsu technical support customer support line. He said he would come back after he had more information. No call back for 2 days. Then 2 service repairmen come and attempted to repair the AC unit for ~30 minutes. They did not take the unit apart at all. The technician was unclear what was done or why it began working but the unit began working on its own so they requested 2 days worth of labor fees which totaled $345.54 This fee was refuted because the first service technician was unable to troubleshoot the issue nor identify what was wrong with the unit. The technicians spoke with their boss, Nick, who initially demanded the total fee due to a minimum of 2 hours which was never explained to us prior to the job starting. They also did not explain what the issue was nor how much it would cost to service, which is what we asked them to do the day prior to avoid any confusion. Once Nick was made aware of the failure to explain the charges ahead of time, he agreed to the following charges : $135 labor, and $30 Truck Charge + tax = 172.77. He said he plugged some wires in. On the invoice, there was no description of the work that had been done. Several messages were left to the company were not returned. Nick called back and explained that he did not know what was done and the technicians did not know what was done. He said the $135 labor charge was a generous gesture he provided to us because he normally charges a $270 minimum for labor but acknowledged that the technicians failed to provide us with that information prior to beginning the work. He also said that the $30 Truck Charge was because the technicians had to drive the truck but provided no further explanation. He said that the repair consisted of Tightening loose wires, no other repair was performed. I contacted a reputable AC repair company in the area, and was informed that standard practice is 1 year warranty with ~ $65 charge to troubleshoot the problem which is applied to the cost of any repairs that need to be done, if purchased. They were shocked to hear about Service AC & Plumbing charging me $270 + $60 Truck charge with no warranty. With this new information, I called Nick back to clarify their policy on guarantee of their work. I asked if their repair malfunctioned, would they service the unit again? He replied they would recommend a replacement and followed with Dude, we just screwed in a few screws and wires, why are you still talking about this, you are just renting the place I followed by suggesting that if there was a repeat malfunction, can it be assumed that the initial repair was inadequate and should be serviced rather than abandoned for a replacement. At this point, he asked Can I ask, what do you do for a living? I refused to answer this and he berated me by calling me a ***** and that I should consider myself lucky that he only charged me half the fee and that he serviced my condo under false pretenses of me being the owner. He continued to rant about me being a ***** and how he is not going to talk about this anymore. I had no choice but to cancel the check and follow up on the matter with him later. He said I knew you would do this, I'll see you in small claims court, you are an Idiot and repeated you are an idiot ~5 times until hanging up the phone. Nick may be the owner or just upper level management for this company. He is extremely unprofessional, rude and aggressive to his clients. The company technicians refused to provide a pre-work estimate despite being asked to do so, and attempted to charge nearly $400 once the work was complete [$135 for labor is over twice the market rate to troubleshoot an AC Unit (Per reputable AC company) and the $30 Truck fee has no validity, purpose, or explanation]. After demanding the payment, the technicians did not even know what they had done to the unit. The company refused to provide a guarantee for their work (likely because they did not know what they did and did not identify and resolve the actual issue). The payment was sent to debt collections which I paid, but I feel that the charges were for services that were not delivered.
