Mattus committed on Sunday 1/10 for a Monday morning phone call between 7:30 and 8 to schedule an arrival time.  At 9:00, when no call was received, I followed up and was told that someone was being dispatched.  Indeed, two plumbers arrived, but said that they would have to return in the afternoon to finish the job.  At 5:00, when no one had returned to complete the job, I called the office again and spoke to Ken who stated that he was the owner of Mattus, and that he would send someone back out, but that overtime would apply.  I stated that I had the morning time slot, and it wasn't any fault of ours that the plumbers left and didn't return, and his  response was It's been a long day and the burden is on the homeowner to schedule a time.   WE DID THAT--THEY DIDN'T FOLLOW THROUGH.   He was very rude and unprofressional.  They'll never get a dime of mine, and I hope you'll choose another business for your plumbing needs as well.

Great service. Hal was very helpful in setting up an appointment in advance. The technician, can't remember his name, called me and me when was on his way, showed up on time and was able to diagnose and quickly fix my AC. Overall great service at a fair price. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or suggest them to others. Great job!

Cause: Faucet dripping in bath.

I called the day before and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day in the AM. When the next day rolled around it was 11:30 and no word from anyone.
I contacted the office to inquire what the ETA was and the lady indicated that she would call me back. Well, she didn't call me back the plumber did.

When he arrived, I showed him the faucet, he diagnosed it, indicated that he didn't have the part as it was a Kohler part but quoted me 275.00. I was shocked at the quote but what was a girl to do?? I told him to go ahead with it, he left and came back about 2 hours later and repaired it.

The technician was nice however, I felt that he was trying to sell me a new water heater? He checked the pressure and it was fine so I why the sell?

I felt that their prices were high that is after I checked the price of the part that he used to repair the faucet with.

Really great service!  We're able to schedule a plumber to come out for a non-emergency job realy quickly (under 3 hours)!  Excellent job done with very reasonable price.  Highly recommended.

Do NOT use Mattus! First of all whoever answered the phone confirmed they would come out the following day before 2pm to check out what was wrong w/my HVAC but she never put me on the schedule so I made arrangements to miss work and wait for them but they were a no show. I rescheduled and again made arrangements to miss work. They filled up the Freon tank and sold me on their HVAC Maintenance Plan which I thought would give me peace of mind that my system was in good working condition and ready for the winter. Total cost $469! Unfortunately at the time I didn't know much about HVAC units so they should have explained this meant there was a leak, found it, and gave me options on repairing/replacing etc but instead they just filled the tank and sold me on a maintenance plan. Two mths later heater blowing cold air. Again they messed up the scheduling so I made arrangements to be home from work for a no show. Same thing...they came out and filled the tank (filled it w/out confirming w/me this was what I wanted to do so I had to pay for over $200 of Freon when I would have decided not to since I am getting the unit replaced). This time I asked them to do a leak test. Total for Freon and leak test $537 (w/discount for having the Maintenance Plan)! Two days later blowing cold air again. I am now having Air Reliant Service airreliantllc.com (they were highly recommended to me by a property manager friend and have been nothing but pleasant to work with) come out to install a new HVAC and am spreading the word to everyone in my condo bldg and all of my homeowner friends to NEVER use Mattus!

Great company!  I called on a Friday afternoon and got a pleasant response from Amy.  Someone would come in a couple hours.  Turned out to be a little longer than that, but worth the wait!  The technician had everything he needed to complete the job, even though he didn't know it was the garbage disposal leaking that was causing the problem until he arrived.  He was friendly and professional, cleaning up after he finished the job.  He was efficient and done in less than an hour, and the price was definitely reasonable.  I highly recommend this company and will most certainly use them again, if needed.

They're professional, responsive, reasonably priced ... and they know where every sewer line in the neighborhood is. Inman Park is lucky to have Ken Mattus and his crew.

Called them last Tuesday night for a quote to replace my PVC main water line with copper and received a call back telling me that they would stop by the house in the morning and take a look. I didn't hear back at all on Wednesday and finally got a voicemail around noon on Thursday giving me a quote of $1700! They sound very courteous but that quote is more than double of what Ridgeway gave me. I had no idea quotes for the same job could vary that much so make sure you call around, even if it seems at first like it's not worth the extra time and effort to get second and third opinions.

If I could give less than one star I would. This company charged us $600 (initially asking $700) to replace the fan motor on our indoor air handler. When they started the job, the outside unit was running fine. The technician came this morning and said it was the fan motor. He came back in the afternoon and installed it and left. I did not check to see whether the outside unit was running when he left. I suspect perhaps some wire was left loose or something else happened that kicked off the outside unit. He finished just after 4, I gave the house some time to cool off and realized around 6 pm that it wasn't cooling. Checked outside, condenser off. When I called the company to ask that someone come look and make sure it's not some simple thing that the technician perhaps forgot to do, I was told that if they send him out after hours and the problem is not his fault, then they'll have to charge us emergency rates. Then has the gall to say they stand behind their work. A company that stood behind its work wouldn't be hedging its bets by accusing the customer of not knowing whether the condenser had been on prior to the technician's doing the work, for example. A company that stood behind its work would send out a technician as a courtesy right after collecting $600 to put in a $150 part.

Super overpriced.  The Plumber who came out was very nice, but seemed not very experienced.  Quotes were astronomical:
$600 for one fix that was done by another plumber for $165
$350 to replace something they said was broken, another plumber fixed it for free (something caught in garbage disposal)
I paid them $225 to snake 2 drains, it seemed expensive at the time but we were desperate.
Yikes, not cool.  Pass on The Mattus Company.

Undisclosed and exorbitant charges that surprised my credit card account over 30 days later.  Unreasonable and defensive staff.  
Plumber was friendly and effective, but can't stomach awarding a second star.

While they responded quickly to my calls, they gave me a plumbing quote that seemed really high and would not break it down (parts, labor, etc.)  Seems shady to me and for that reason would not recommend.

If you enjoy a complete absence of customer service and basic respect, you'll love Mattus. After speaking with Amy at length about an ongoing issue in my condo, she assured me she would follow up with me.  After two days had passed without a return call, I called  to check in; after identifying myself,  she immediately asked if she could put me on hold.  Five minutes later, I was still on hold.  I hung up and called back, this time getting the answering machine.  I left a message asking for my call to be returned and have yet to receive a response back.  I have since booked a highly recommended company, MDB Plumbing.  They don't put customers on extended holds -- and actually return their phone calls!  Based on my experience, it appears Mattus isn't focused on new business.

They performed a 20 point summer time HVAC service on my HVAC units and the first time I turned on the system it began leaking condensate onto my ceiling. I informed the Mattus Company and after 7 days and 5 phone calls and explaining the situation to 3 separate people they refused to come even look at the issue without charging me more money. I later discovered the repair they previously did on the house had jostled the condensate pipe out of place and sent water pouring onto my ceiling.

We used this company to install new duct work under our house and repair one of our A/C units. They were able to come out next day and completed the work very quickly. The service technician was very courteous as well. Oddly enough, we had an emergency call for a busted pipe days later and they arrived in about an hour to replace the pipe. Amy was nice enough to call later that night to make sure we were taken care of. We were really happy with the plumbing work so will be using those services in the future as well. Love that they have been in Inman Park for 30 years... a true local family business you don't find much anymore.

I got both my toilets fixed in 2015 since they were leaking water.  The plumber that came out back then was friendly and helpful.  However,  one of the toilets is leaking again now and the water bill is creeping up. I  called up to ask if there was any sort of warranty on the work that was done. There wasn't - which is ok. The unacceptable part was the grumpy old man who answered my call.  He was unbelievably rude and cranky.  He complained that he couldn't hear me on the phone and when I started speaking up, he said I was yelling. I won't be using their services but will use yelp to find a better plumber instead.

I called the Mattus company after another company told me that it would cost 1400 USD to fix my broken water heater. Honsell came out right away and was fantastic! He explained everything he was doing and what the problem was. He check the water pressure, he checked my heating elements and found that my upper heating element had busted. He replaced it, double checked his work, left me a telephone number to call in case I had any more problems and it only cost me $150.00  Honsell is awesome. Great service, Honest service, and a great price. what more can you ask for?
