Can't recommend this company enough. I have used them to fix multiple clogged pipes & drains, they completed a very tricky dishwasher installation, & most recently replaced our air conditioning system and furnace. They are always quick to respond and schedule the repair. They are extremely professional and do a great job at a very reasonable price. There isn't much these guys can't do. Call them ASAP!

Subcontracted the installation of our HVAC unit to an inept installer. I've had multiple people look at the system and tell me what a bad job this company did. Would never recommend working with Steve Malone.

Avoid at all cost!

We had a water heater issue and hired Steve Malone's company to install a new one in 2017. The work was completed and everything seemed to be fine...

Fast forward to this year and we are in the process of selling our home. The inspection report comes back and, I kid you not, says this water heater does not appear to have been installed by a licensed plumber. Without getting too technical they installed the exhaust upside down and was leaking carbon monoxide into our home for three years. Inspector's photos show clearly where the carbon monoxide leak had corroded the top of the water heater. We are nothing but lucky it didn't cause any health issues to our family. The buyer says this has to be fixed ASAP or they will terminate the contract (for good reason).

Naturally I call the company to come out and fix what is clearly their error. They send out a technician, who takes one look at it and says this is terrible. Totally incorrect installation. He apologies and says they'll be in touch on how they'll fix it.

Then Steve gets involved. He says it was a beautiful install and the exhaust was installed that way because that was the only way to fit a water heater of the size we had previously our crawl space...like I should have known this was going to happen. You are the expert! I trusted you to do the job properly! If its going to cause a problem, tell me! Use a different size (which clearly was an option as you'll see below)! Literally anything!

I ask Steve what kind of beautiful install fails every code there is and needs to be fixed 3 years later.  He had no answer, but didn't budge. At this point he knows he has us over a barrel with the closing in a week and charges us $2,000 to undo their mistake and install a new, smaller water heater.

This is my first ever Yelp review but I felt compelled to get this out there. Two weeks later I'm still taken aback by the audacity of Steve. This is not a guy who has the client's best interest in mind and would rather lose a customer forever than admit his own mistake. Can't do business with people like that.

I arrived home on a Friday afternoon in late June to find the AC in my house had gone out and the temperature had risen to 87 degrees. My dog was struggling and I was hopeless after calling at least 12 other companies-- none of who could get to me for another few days. Lucky for me I got a hold of Steve and he was working about 1 mile from my house and was able to squeeze me in. Within an hour Craig and Steve had me up and running with cold air pumping...they were also able to give me good options to replace my unit-- but I didn't feel pressured. Really pleased with their service.

After 2 weeks of researching and about 10 contractors/estimates later, I decided to go with I Buckhead Plumbing & HVAC. To be honest, I was apprehensive--very professional, colorful and engaging ads, clean/professional webpage with alot of accreditation....I thought, they are going to be super pricey!
Out of all the estimates I received, Steve's price was fair/affordable, he was willing to work with me. He was very reassuring. He answered my many questions confidently and was consistent. Replacing these kinds of things are very pricey and I went back and forth deciding on who to do this project with. Steve was available for my questions, gave me alot of information, was SO patient and friendly. He worked with me so that the project was affordable and he was adamant about doing business. They installed my new A/C unit, the team was very polite and professional. They cleaned up where they worked (big deal to me) and checked in periodically to update me on the project. I have a few more projects with my home and I will definitely be in touch with Steve for those!! It's freezing in here by the way...thank you!!!! :D

Pros: Steve is responsive, talk friendly, and emails fast enough! And he do try to fix the issue after he made a mistake.

He might be a nice guy and he do good jobs, however, my new year is ruined by him.

I sent several quotes online on Sunday Dec/27/2015, Steve give me the best and clear price estimate for pressure test of my gas line. Considering he has good reviews as well on yelp so I scheduled him on Monday(Dec/28/2015) for Wednesday afternoon. And on Tuesday(Dec/29/2015) I DO EMAILED him mentioned my gas meter is locked so I have to start from pressure test and he responded me he will be at my place around 1pm-3pm on Wednesday.

On Wednesday(Dec/30/2015) he called me around 1:15pm saying there could be some delay due to some hard work, but he will definitely fix my gas line on Wednesday. I said it is understandable I can wait. Around 3:45pm he still not showing up so I decide to call back, and he tell me he can't come today.... With a shock, he continued saying he can't do the right pressure test since my meter been locked on!

So basically he used good quote to make a schedule and after two days he said sorry I can't fix it. He do tried to fix this by referring another technician who can do the right job, but the other guy clearly told me no matter how I will not have gas till the next week!

I also immediately tried to schedule another companies but no one can fix it by next week due to the time I lost with him. I have to enjoy the cold, rainy 2016 new year without gas (no HVAC, no hot water, no cooking.)

Based on the glowing reviews on Yelp, I called Buckhead and two other highly-rated plumbers for an estimate on running a gas line to my new gas grill.  The other two came out and gave me genuinely estimates.  Both were around $600.00.  Buckhead was too lazy to come out and look, so they gave me an estimate over the phone, after asking me many questions.  Their estimate?  They said it would cost about $1000.00, but it could go to $1300.00!

Yeah; they're in Buckhead, so I'd expect them to charge more, but twice as much?!?  I think not.  So between the laziness and the ridiculous price, I won't be calling Buckhead again.

I was listing my condo for sale and was getting errors from my NEST unit.  The HVAC had shut off and wasn't working.  Not good when trying to sell your home.  I called Buckhead Plumbing and they totally calmed me down, came over and fixed the issue.  They also took the time to do a complete service and make sure that any inspection before a sale would be perfect.  I completely recommend them!  Great service.  Owner even texted me after to make sure I was satisfied.

Buckhead Plumbing replaced 2 water Heaters for me, along with fixing a broken shower head and moving an outdoor water spigot to make it more accessible.  They did an excellent job.  Both Jason and Will were professional and knowledgeable.  They explained what they had to do before doing it, and answered any questions that I had.  They even fixed a gate in my front yard free of charge.  I will definitely be using them again for any plumbing needs. I highly recommend them.

I gave Steve a call at around 9am because one of my toilets was not properly flushing and kept getting clogged. He gave me an estimate for each possible scenario on-the-fly, and I asked him to please proceed with whatever it takes. I texted him my name, address, and phone number after hanging up.

Three hours later, I get a call from Steve telling me that everything is taken care of and working perfectly. I go home to test, and sure enough it's working again. I was expecting to wait at least a few days, but he had a guy that happened to live very close to me and they got it done before I could even grab lunch. Very impressed by the customer service, response time, and reasonable prices. Will be calling them again any time I have HVAC or plumbing issues.

Highly Recommended, Reasonably priced, Reliable, Efficient service. I googled and Steve was the top 5. Two prices were in my range. He reached out to me daily to see if I had gotten anyone to replace my unit and reassured me I would be satisfied. Steve dropped his price to ensure he was able to get my business. He was at the site as stated and the work performed exceeded my standards. Since I was unable to come to the site he ensured I got quality pics of the work performed. It's evident that they take pride in the work they do as it's a representation of the company. He ensured me if I had any issues they were only a phone call away whether it was for the unit, plumbing, electrical, or small repair. He also made sure I knew all about my warranty. Great job Steve and his crew.

Terrible terrible terrible. I recommend them to my brother in law after looking them up on Craigslist.
They literally destroyed his ceiling over two repairs of fixing a drain leak. Four weeks after the second repair he comes home and sees water all over his floor again. His beautiful ceiling he had repaired twice, destroyed again.

Please please please Steve go out of business for the sake of customers here in Atlanta that have suffered from you and your terrible crew who have no clue what they are doing.

I'm devastated for my brother in-law and his family right now.

Fraudulent company,  scam, unlicensed and advertising as licensed. How has he gotten away with this? Obviously he is paying someone off.  Misleading,  so nice, promised to stand behind work. Gave quote for complete AC Installation of 5200. Well, due to his unlicensed subcontractors,  he stated wiring issues from previous job. Then charged me another 250.00 or he wouldn't come fix my ductwork he tore during Installation process. He said they didn't do,  really?? Who tears ductwork to spend extra money.   Took 2 days to finish, and 2nd day subcontractor asked why unit replaced, I said compressor out and Steve said unit was shot. He said no it wasn't,  i have known him to scam people that way.   Still hasn't fixed ductwork,  loud noisy air coming through vents, and dust and particles of flooring from attic blowing out them, water in pan under air handler,  never had I seen water in it. He refuses to come fix it, and said its installed per codes and blowing cold air. Possibly leaking refrigerant in my house, outside unit making screeching noise when cuts on and off. I asked him to fix, because 1 yr labor warranty,  he refused. Stated nothing wrong with it.  He had intent to fraud me because he isn't licensed and gave estimate,  and kept saying he thought I was single, after my boyfriend stepped in.  Said I wS harassing him now cause I want it fixed correctly,  and I was pi... ng him off.  I am filing suit against him. Really don't understand how someone rips people off and police can't charge them..

The team installed a new water heater in my apartment on Peachtree Rd NE. Very fast response (the fastest out of all), effective communications via text and email, fair price, extremely profession and clean installation. Amazing job overall. I am surprised to see several bad reviews.

I would use and recommend this company for plumbing and HVAC repairs.  My air conditioner stopped blowing and Steve sent Craig out to service my unit. The unit was 17 years old and after comparing the options and cost, a new heater was needed.  The delivery and installation was on time, work was professional and price was fair..  I had recently had major plumbing work done by Estes and when Steve and I spoke about the plumbing repair he quoted a price of a little more than 1000 dollars less then I paid!  I wish I would have found this company sooner.

Thanks Steve and Craig for a job well done!

Please read this complaint, as well as previous complaints on Yelp and sites like the Better Business Bureau and Angie's List before hiring Steve Malone. Once doing so, you'll understand the pattern of deceit Steve employs.

To replace my main water line and fix a drainage issue in the backyard, Steve gave us an estimate of $4,100. I'm a first-time homeowner of a few months, and I was too trusting & naïve to ask for a written quote.

Steve began his con by charging me $1,500 instead of the stated $150 to assess plumbing issues at the house (Steve's response will be that this is a clerical error on his part.)

At the completion of the job, the price increased from $4,100 to $10,000. His reasoning for charging us over 100% of the original price: rock excavation and irrigation repair. I employed a licensed, Master Plumber to estimate the cost and specifics of this job. His estimate was $3,400.

When I asked the 3rd party plumber about the cost of unforeseen subterranean rock, he quipped that our house isn't on Stone Mountain, and that amounts of subterranean granite, as well as irrigation lines, should not increase the original estimate because it is a reasonable and obvious part of the plumbing business.

Steve advertises himself as a Licensed and Independent Plumbing & Heating Contractor. I spoke to the Secretary of State's office and they could not find his license. Furthermore, when asked to provide his license ID number... Steve refused. (Steve recently deleted this claim from his website; however I have a dated screenshot of the previous claim should anyone care to see.)

On my invoice, Steve asserted that parts for the project cost $4,000 (roughly the price of his original estimate). The 3rd party plumber assured us that the parts for this job couldn't have cost any more than $400.

After all the work was done, our irrigation system didn't work. The irrigation service we employed deduced that Steve's sub-contractors had not fixed the irrigation system that Steve charged us over $2,800 to fix. Furthermore, Steve refused to pay the $550 for the irrigation errors that his team caused.

At the end of the day, it was my fault to trust Steve Malone. I signed the invoice and payed him... unaware that I was being taken advantage of, and that this plumbing job should have cost a fraction of what we were charged.

My goal in writing this review is to make sure that no one else makes the mistake of trusting this man.

For the first time ever I was satisfied with my HVAC installation. Steve gave us a quote, walked us through the whole process, as well as educating us on the best options. He was very thorough in completing his job in a timely manner. I have had my HVAC control system for over a year and had the chance to check out the performance of both the condenser and furnace, which both run smoothly. Job well done and looking forward to the next project.

Steve and his crew are top notch professionals. I got quick turnaround on a quote request and Steve was able to get someone out to me promptly within the same day. Conscientious and personable staff with the expertise to get the job done right the first time. They earned every one of those five stars.

I would never use this company again! We had a few months of annoyance with them. Summer time they put in new unit and it was working fine. They even ask us to give a recommendation. Later we turned the heat on for winter that's when all our problems started. The unit kept reversing from air and heat. Steve sent the same guy to fix it and he kept making things worse. I HAD to call him myself to get him to come check it out. Honestly the whole time I had to call him for any help. I was more the boss then he was. After two blown thermostats and a switchboard it worked okay. Now we still don't get very good air upstairs and the MOST important is they never hooked back up a critical piece of equipment to GA power credit program box. This job was a joke and I didn't want to write this but there are still so many problems with our AC system. A added bonus I had Steve hold a $100 payment to make sure it would work after. He never took it out until 3 months later. No call to tell us!!!

I called several companies from yelp after my pilot light went out and my Nest thermostat wouldn't work.  All said 1-2 week wait, not going to work for me...Steve answered the phone and had his tech over the same morning! They quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem, no problems.  Will definitely call again if future issues arise.

SCAMMER ALERT! Was charged $750 for 1.5 Lbs of freon. Service call is $79. Freon is $149 a pound. Total amount is $303 + tax. Steve-Owner refused to issue a credit for the $400 over charge. He offered to deduct the $400 if I bought a new HVAC system. They refuse to provide me with a receipt/invoice detailing the charges.

I called Steve last week requesting a quote for a new hot water heater for my condo. He has very prompt, professional and gave me a reasonable quote for a new hot water heater to be installed and have my old one hauled away. It also included a new pan below the new water heater. One of his subcontractors, Joel, came today to do the installation. He was efficient, thorough, and very nice. It only took 2.5 hours total which was impressed and also included the clean up time. Overall great experience with these professionals. Looking forward to my long, hot shower this evening! I would recommend these guys to anyone I know.

Steve and Craig at Buckhead Plumbing and HVAC are life savers!  We have 5 kids at home and our furnace stopped working last week when it got really cold out. Couldn't have happened before the warm spells we've gotten all winter!  It got down to 58 degrees inside our house, and after calling a few other HVAC companies with no response (over two cold days) I got an email after midnight saying that Buckhead HVAC could be out early the next day. Craig showed up right on time and did a really thorough inspection to try to find a glimmer of hope to fix it, no such luck, our furnace was dead.

Steve called to let me know that even if they could get the furnace back up and running that it was dangerous for my family and that it needed to be replaced.  He was very nice about explaining my options and breaking down the cost.  He didn't even hang up on me when I started crying about the unexpected cost!  We scheduled a replacement and again Craig was out right on time the next day.  It was a hard job getting the old unit out (it was 20+ years old) but he worked really hard and was super patient with my kids and dogs coming and going around him throughout the day.  By the end of the day we had a new furnace, it was warm and toasty when my kids went to bed that night and the whole experience was so easy and pleasant.  Steve and Craig were great to work with, friendly, professional and kind.  I can't recommend Buckhead HVAC enough.

The good: I called Steve on a Friday morning with an emergency - water was leaking from the kitchen sink through the floor into the room below.  He had someone there within a couple of hours who diagnosed and fixed the leak.

The not so good:  As part of the fix, a hole had to be cut in the drywall ceiling of the room below the leak.  As it needed to dry before it could be fixed, it required a return visit.  I was told they could come back the following week to patch it up - this was not a problem.  After a number of calls over two weeks without a commitment I hired someone else to do the work.  And although patching the hole wasn't an emergency some basic follow-up would have been appreciated to know I was still on the radar.

In summary, good job fixing the problem, not so good with the cleanup.

These guys were recommended after my last contractor half-assed a job and bailed.  Steve talked to me that day and had someone out there the next day finishing a HVAC install, sheetrock, and a complete flip.  While it says Buckhead Plumbing, Steve does it all.  I tried it the cheap way on my own and wound up spending more.  Steve was a life saver and cannot recommend him enough!!  Responds at all hours and has simply been the best part of this whole renovation.  If your like me and have gotten frustrated with trying to find a reliable contractor/do it all guy, Buckhead Plumbing/Hvac is it!!

Called Steve and he sent out a guy to fix a leak the water company said I had.  Guy shows up, tells my wife that the water pressure valve regulator was the the problem and replaced it for $375.  I thought it was strange since there was no leaking inside the house where the valve was, but I wasn't there to talk to the guy so not much that I could do.  The guy also mentioned to my wife something about the water heater, which wasn't that old and was working fine.  I thought that was odd.

About a month later, my water bill is still sky high.  I look in the basement and my water heater, which had been fine, is now leaking.  I look at the valve they installed, about 20 feet away, and it's still dry.  I then look outside the house, and see water bubbling in the yard.  I call up Steve and he said it would be 2 days until they can get there to look at the problem.  Since I can't wait that long, I then look up some videos on YouTube and figured out I had an outside water line leak.

I dig around the yard and find the source of the outside water leak.  I turn off the water at the water meter and then buy some parts from Home Depot and order some other parts Amazon to fix the problem.  Steve finally sends a guy out a couple of days later and they tell me they need to replace the entire line to the meter, about 200 feet away, for $4,350.  That evening, the last parts I ordered arrive and I repair the leak.  All the parts in total cost me less than $40.

As for the hot water heater, I pumped up the pressure on the expansion tank so the leaking has now stopped (thanks again, YouTube!).

So here are the reasons why I gave them 1 star:

1)  They misdiagnosed the issue and replaced a pressure valve that I suspect was working.

2)  I suspect they dialed up the pressure valve and messed with the expansion tank pressure so the hot water heater would start leaking.

3)  An estimate for replacing an entire line when all I needed was a line patch.  Again, the estimate was for $4,350; I fixed the problem myself for $40 in parts.

4)  After notifying Steve that I no longer needed his services, he leaves me a very nasty voicemail.

They are incompetent, dishonest, insanely overpriced, and rude.  I will absolutely never use their services again.

If I could give this company -1000 stars I would! Please do yourself a favor & STAY AWAY from Steve, Greg, JJ & their whole crew! This company is an absolute farce! Working with them has been an absolute nightmare! We had 2 small leaks in our ceiling downstairs & called them to diagnose & fix the problem. It was on the bottom floor & Steve assured us that they could also put the sheetrock back in & mud it to where it would look like nothing had happened, as in order to diagnose they would have to cut a hole in our sheetrock. Greg came out & incorrectly diagnosed the problem, as after his work & fix, the next day we had 14 leaks in our ceiling!!!! Yes you read right--FOURTEEN. We called Steve & he & JJ came out the next day to fix this problem that Greg created. JJ & Steve stated that Greg had misdiagnosed & thus created a bigger issue, but assured us that they had fixed the issue. Then Steve left & JJ was to put the sheetrock back up & mud the ceiling. He spent HOURS there & had very thick lines where he had cut into our sheetrock (please do yourself a favor & look at all the pics because you just won't believe that this is real). He kept telling me that if I just paint over the lines I won't see them (he must think I look like a fool). I kept telling him that it looks horrible & that he needs to fix it to where it's satisfactory. He used an electric sander WITHOUT any plastic to protect our house & furniture, which left our WHOLE downstairs covered in white dust--we had to deep clean absolutely everting downstairs such as our couch, curtains etc. (again, please view the pictures that I'm posting because you will be absolutely shocked!). After many, many hours & no improvement in the sheetrock JJ just left. It looked horrible (again please look at pics). The next day we called a painting & sheetrock company to fix our ceiling. They told us that JJ didn't even have the new piece that he put back in big enough, as there was about a 1.5 inch wide & 12 inch piece long of just pure mud in our ceiling (not attached to any sheetrock as he did not cut it the proper size)--Again, please see pics of this to believe it. JJ had also left wet paper towels & other junk in our ceiling. And this is from a guy who told me he had 20 years' worth experience in sheetrock repair & mudding (yeah right! What a liar--I don't think the guy had ever done this before!). So we paid this other company to redo our ceilings again to fix the mess JJ, Greg, & Steve created--we had to repaint our whole downstairs ceiling (living room & kitchen)...and what do you know?!  A month later our plumbing issue is back again as another leak popped back up today. To say that we are livid & irate is such an understatement! JJ & Steve & Greg told us they are licensed plumbers but I really question the validity of that since they clearly can't only fix the problem, they actually just immensely exacerbated the problems! If you want a total mess & nightmare, this is the company to call! Just as a side note too--as you read with other reviews--Steve will quote you a fee but then after the work is done, will find reasons to go much higher. He can't be trusted on so many levels.
