I called Atlantis Plumbing Friday, May 8, 2020. I told the customer service that we just received our Douglasville-Douglas County (WSA)water bill for $662.33 for less than ten (10) days. WSA indicated that we may have a probable water leak. When I talked to Atlantis customer service, I was told that a technician would be dispatched to our residence on Saturday, May 9, 2020, between 2-4 pm. I was doing errands that day, but I told my husband I should be home by that time. Bryan came by the house, I believe, from what my husband told me around 1 pm. My husband said Bryan came inside the house, turned off the main water supply, then turned back on the water supply, checked the house for possible leak, etc. Bryan told my husband we DO NOT have water leak. I was wanting to talk to Bryan because my husband does not quite know what to tell Bryan the exact issue I'm trying to determine regarding our water bill. I called Bryan the same day he came to our house. He told me he found NO water leak, and he said the meter was blinking on and off. He also said he will be glad to send me a letter of his findings to be sent to the WSA. I called WSA on Monday this week May 11, 2020. The WSA maintenance staffs who installed the supposedly smart meter were dispatched to our house the same day. Joe the WSA technician, who installed the new smart meter, and I looked at the new water meter. The meter was not moving at all. Then Joe told me to turn on the water hose connection to the water faucet at the front yard. I turned the water faucet on, and The meter was barely moving. JOE CONFIRMED WE HAVE NO water leak. Then Wednesday this week, May 13, 2020, I hired a teenage neighbor to wash my husband's truck. I turned on the same water faucet at the front yard, with the hose connected to the water sprayer, BUT the sprayer not yet turned on. I looked at the water meter, and I was amazed how the meter was running. The meter reading was turning 2 GALLONS USAGE IN EACH SPLIT SECONDS, although the water was not being dispensed yet. I called the WSA yesterday to hopefully be able to talk to Joe, since he told me to call him back if we have any more problem. But the WSA customer service was giving me a hard time. I called Atlantis just now to talk to Bryan. Atlantis customer service told me Bryan is in the field and not available. While Bryan told me Saturday when I spoke with him that he would be glad to give a letter from Atlantis to confirm his findings about probable leak, Atlantis customer service would not allow me to leave a VM message for Bryan. Atlantis customer service told me Atlantis could provide me a letter for $85.00. Yes, it's not a typo, $85.00 to give me a letter from the technician who was dispatched to my house last Saturday. $85.00 for a letter!?!? That is outrageous! I will be glad to pay some amount, but NOT $85.00. Here we are seniors having issue with our water company, which we NEVER had for living in the same residence for over 40, we have to fork out $85 just for a letter? I appreciate the owners' response to this review. Thanks.
