Still trying to reach this business. They destroyed our back fence while working and never fixed it. Legal action is likely the only recourse.

Called at 4:30pm to have a sink/vanity installed, and got a 6pm appointment. Vinny was at my house at 5:40. He was awesome-request him if you can! Pleasant to chat with, considerate and respectful of my home. Did an amazing job. Will absolutely use them again!  Thanks, Vinny :)

My water stopped working and I called red cap.  The plumber came promptly and told me i needed a valve that releases pressure from the system.  he did not have the right size and came back the next day and fixed it.  Four days later, no water again.  turns out the valve was NOT the problem, it was the water softener.  So, I got a $900 bill and was no better off.  Their solution was to give me a discount on a new water softener.  I wrote to the company and received no response.

I called them for a rental house when I couldn't get my regular plumber on the phone.  They came out quickly and were professional on the phone.  The water cut off valve that leads to the washing machine had broken off.  Chad installed a new one which involved cutting the pvc piping and replacing it.  It was in the laundry room right out in the open. He didn't even have to kneel down. The job took about 30 minutes and the charge was $561.

I live out of state or I would have done the job myself.  Chad is probably relaxing on his yacht right now, chuckling to himself about what suckers those fortune 500 CEOs are for working so hard when he can make the same amount of money working part time.

This was my first time calling Red Cap Plumbing and I was impressed with the quick service and the professionalism of Michael Kinney, the gentlemen that was dispatched to my house.  Mike was friendly, yet professional.  He gave me 3 options for the work that needed to be done without pressure.  He was very clean coming in and left the work area as clean.

In all, I was satisfied with the service, however, the price for what was done could have been a lot lower.

Due to the high cost of service, I will shop around next time before committing.

I have used Red Cap Plumbing in the past to service the a/c unit on my home and have been very pleased with the overall service provided. As a result, I purchased their whole home yearly maintenance service package. When a toilet needed servicing to have the tank flush valve replaced the technician came out and gave me 3 different price options to make this simple repair up to and including replacing the entire toilet for several hundred dollars. The lowest price to replace the flush valve which was all that was needed was $179 and that was with my whole home service plan discount. I would think that Red Cap would offer their service plan members a much better rate to replace a $20 part and simple fix. And to be given a price to have my entire toilet replaced for something this minor was downright insulting. Makes me wonder what other practices are happening at Red Cap and how they treat other customers.

I had several plumbing services come to my house.
Each of them had a negative attitude and over priced.
Finally Red Cap Plumbing and air showed up!
They were on-time, ambitious, honest and affordable priced.
I highly recommend them and will use them again for any plumbing needs.

I had this company out to repair a toilet and fix a kitchen faucet.  We were told there were dangerously high levels of chlorine in our tap water and that we could chlorinate our entire pool with one cup of tap water from the kitchen sink.

1). We had the water tested at a pool store and there was not high levels of chlorine in the tap water.

2). They wanted to charge us $122 for their time to call Koehler to order the replacement parts for the kitchen faucet.

3). They suggested we needed to buy a $3,361 water softener/filtration system.

4). We called Koehler and ordered the replacement parts ourselves and would not pay the $122 charge for them contacting Koehler.

5). We did not agree to the $3,361 quote for a water softener/filtration system that was not necessary because we did not have high levels of chlorine in our tap water.

6).  I called and spoke to the manager who tried to be professional yet he wasn't that interested in what occurred or with the manner in which the plumber treated us at our service call.

7).  We have an elderly dog and the plumber put us under undue stress thinking we had endangered ourselves and our animals with the high level of chlorine in our tap water that didn't exist.

Adam Hill at Red Cap was excellent!  He was as professional as it gets!  He did an outstanding job installing a Water Filtration and Softener system for our entire house.  He was respectful throughout the entire process.  He explained in detail how to purge the system after the carbon filter had soaked for 48 hours.  He gave me a courtesy call to see how the process went and if I had any issue or questions once I got the system up and running.  I was highly impressed with Adam and would recommend him to anyone!

I am very frustrated by the lack of communication and laissez-faire attitude this company has. I scheduled an appointment for an initial service and was told to be available between 10-2pm. It is currently 3:53pm and I have just been informed that the technician may arrive between 4:30-5pm. I found this information after I initiated contact with the office.

Additionally it was expressed that the technicians don't have time to call their office to update anyone on timing and yet somehow, the dispatcher is able to give me a new arrival time.

This has been a disappointment and a waste of an entire day.

Mike R was dispatched to our house for a possible problem with our water flow from our washing machine drain. he was very professional and listened to my description of the problem. I felt that a clean out of the line was necessary to eliminate a gurgling sound in our kitchen drain. Mike snaked out our line to the main in under 30 minutes. today, after running the washer, we did not hear the gurgling sounds in the kitchen. The only draw back was the $233 cost for what I thought was $99. I was explained after he had already arrived, that special was for only the clean out of the main line from clean out valve to the road. A little misleading from the ad I saw online when I scheduled the service. All in all, very satisfied with Mike R and his work.

I was in desperate need of a repair, and at the time, being new to the area I had NO IDEA who to call so I started surfing the phone book--they had a $25 off service call coupon so I called them--on time--even arriving EARLY--very nice and professional servicemen--the repair was more than I could afford at the time--they were very gracious and worked out a payment plan for me

At first I was very satisfied with service from red cap. We got our water heater replace and a service contract to cover air and plumbing for the house for a year. I've been trying to schedule an appointment with them to service our AC, which is covered under the service contract We paid for prior in the year, and they never show up. I have had to reschedule this appointment 4 times. And they still don't show for the time I scheduled. There seems to be a real disconnect between the office and the maintenance techs. I highly recommend shopping elsewhere if you value your time.

The quality of installation was good despite some cosmetic items which could have been assembled better. They were not too familiar with my zoning board but managed to set it up with the help of their main office. The only thing I suggest when using them is keep an eye on them at ALL times! I even kept doors closed but was not with them at all times. Unfortunately a ring went missing during their time at my home. While I cant prove they actually took it versus us loosing it during the exact same time frame, this is the first time ever we had something go missing, even with many contractors going in and out of our house for many years. This is truly disappointing as I expected a certain level of professionalism as a bigger reputable company (even purchased through Costco) than a smaller company. On a side note, they should also never assume the owner is not knowledgeable in zoning boards, makes them look bad when they try to over complicate and over sell boards that are a quarter of the complexity and price they indicate. I will try not to use them again even for warranty and annual maintenance.

Red Cap has been to my business on three separate occasions.  We had 2 toilets that were not flushing properly.  On the first visit, February 11, 2015, we were given an estimate with 3 options.  I called Red Cap to see if there would be a discount if the work of all 3 estimates were completed at the same time.  I was told that I would receive a phone call but never did.  I called back on Monday the 16th and again on the 18th.  Roger came on the 19th to inform us that the original quote would not address the problem we were having.  He then quoted more than double the price of the original estimate.  This time we needed to install a clean out, power wash the line to the tap and have 2 brand new power flush toilets installed.  However, we opted to just install the clean out and pressure wash the line.  Honestly, I do no know how dirty is dirty but I don't believe we needed this service either.  On March 5th two plumbers came to perform the work, Adam & Dan.  They were the friendliest people, very professional and polite.  They could not understand the issues we were having but they figured out the problems.  First of all, they cleaned out a stack that was on top of the roof that apparently did not have a screen on it so that was cleaned and all of a sudden we were able to flush the toilets.   They also discovered in fact that there were 3 clean outs that were already installed.  So basically we paid $2,579 for 4 hours of service of something that in my opinion did not need to be completed.  I contacted them through Angie's List but am extremely disappointed in the value of their salespeople.  We are not the professionals and we rely on people being honest and believe in what they say, but we were taken advantage of in my opinion.

In August 2019, we had a new Lennox Air Condition and Air Handler (Heat Pump) Installed.

During the new installation the system would turn it self on and Off (Short Cycle). After several attempts to correct the problem, the service installation manger came to my home. He stated that they will make it right or replace the entire units with no extra cost to me.
I'm Happy to say that Redcap Pluming & Air Kept their word and replaced the entire unit after it was discovered that I had too many BTUs that contributed to the short cycle problem.

The only concern that I have is the salesmen, who sold us the first unit should have known the square footage of my home and calculated the right sizes. I hope that Redcap talked to this salesperson as this cost them a lot of money to make this exchanged right (replacing the first unit) that was causing the original problem.

I plan to continue to do business with Redcap Plumbing & Air for a new house water filter system in the future. But will ask for a different salesmen.

Thanks Redcap Plumbing and Air for keeping your word

I had a major issue with a slow drain in my home where my bathroom sink was taking a very long time to drain. I called red cap to have have my drain snaked for a special they had going. When the plumber got here he gave me several options to have it resolved. Being that it was not a simple snake cleaning the price was going to be much more. However, the plumber was able to get the issue resolved and still honored the price for the special. I was more than pleased. Not to mention he was very professional and cleaned up after the giant mess that leaked from the drain and left the area as good as new. I am very pleased with redcap and John Guzman (plumber). Will def use again!

Called to get a repair on a small irrigation leak. When I explained to the person what the problem was (during the initial call) she stated that they do 'some' irrigation work, depending. Ok. I was informed at that time of the $29.95 service fee for having them come out and check. When the plumber arrived, I showed him the spot. He called his boss, do we do irrigation work?, apparently the boss said, NO, the plumber hung up. The call lasted less than 5 seconds. Then the technician said, if its underground, NO...if its overground, YES. That'll be $29.95. = DOH! I got shafted.

The lady who took that initial call could have asked that SIMPLE BASIC CUSTOMER COURTESY question, is the irrigation leak underground? (which 99% of irrigation is underground). TOTAL BOGUS SERVICE CALL. HE KNEW BEFORE HE GOT HERE IT WASN'T SOMETHING HE CAN WORK ON. I lost 2 hours and possibly a better booking from a company who can actually fix the tiny leak. All I can say is, don't spend it all in one place! Never again.

Hired Red Cap Plumbing for a plumbing issue.

They had a plumber in our place within 90 min of calling them.  The plumber arrived at our scheduled time.

Their price was not the cheapest. However, the work was well done and the plumber was professional.

Make  a  mistake  calling  this  so  called  plumbing  company.  Needed  a  very  simple  job  done   running  about  a  foot  of  pvc  pipe  from  a  bathroom  sink  drain  to  the  drain.  If  I  did  not  have  a  bad  knee , I  would  have  done  it  myself.  The  so  called  plumber (if  he  even  was  so)  first  tried  to  get  me  to  join  their  club  with  a membership  before  he  even  looked  at  the  job.  Then he  left  to  sit  in  his  truck  while  he  said I  have  to  prepare  options) After  a  few  minutes  I  went outside  and  asked him what  was  the  problem,  he  said:  I  have  to figure  out  prices  on  options. OPTIONS for  putting  a  piece of  PVC  pipe   into  a  sink  and  into  the  drain?????  He  then  handed  me  a  multiple  page  OPTION  for  $175.00 for  this.  I  said  NO,  and  handed  him  a  check  for  $29.95  that  you  folks  ripped  me  off  for.  I  did  not  bite on  you  UP  tactics  that  you  pulled. I  guess  it  is  standard  operating  procedures to  do  this  to  customers,  especially  older  ones over  65  .  I  am  contacting  the  State  of  Florida  and  the  better  business  Bureau  and  see   what  they  think. Called another  plumbing  company  and  it  took  A  REAL  PLUMBER  NOT  A  SALESMAN 15  minutes  to  correct  the  problem at  1/3  of  what  the  Red  Cap  outfit  wanted, it  seems  like  other  plumbing  outfits  are  savvy  to Red  Cap  techniques.

Red Cap Plumbing was called, because I thought my water heater was leaking. I live in Valrico, FL.

They then advised me that the leak was coming from the copper pipes that run underneath the foundation.
They offered me two choices - repair the leak, but advised that the leak could reoccur in another area of the house. The latter alternative was to re-do the plumbing, and run the pipes through the attic. I took the latter option (big mistake).

Well, the pipes aren't insulated, so in the summer, you have to run the water for 5-10 MINUTES to get cold water. The inverse is true when there is chilly weather during winter.

The foreman, John, estimated the job for 2 days. They did the job in one day, but took some shortcuts. In the bathroom, they drilled holes in the counter, to run the pipe to the sink. They should have run the pipe in the wall behind the counter, to reach the sink.

This job was done in 2017, but I wanted to run some irrigation to my garden, the other day. Pressure is too low on outside faucets to be of any use for irrigation.

My advice is do not use this company. They over-charge, and under-perform.

These guys are the worse. Was roughly about a year ago they installed my unit. Thought they did an okay job. Back then my unit to control my air handler was stolen and returned. The mess they made in the attic was cleaned up, kinda. But just looked in my attic for another reason (separate issue) found out I've been cooling my attic. Nothing about my experience with Red Cap felt right nor have I ever felt this level of unexplainable doubt it's such a letdown that the failures of thier work keep coming forth. The theft and mess left behind was one thing, but after time has passed and now I'm chilling down my attic in Flordia of all places. Unbelievable so much trust was unfortunately given to a subpar outfit.

Thank you Red Cap Plumbing!   I was working from home the other day, taking care of my 16 month old and noticed the back yard hose connector was leaking, so I did what anyone would do, and tightened it.   The problem is, I tightened it a little too hard and the entire fixture broke off, causing a VERY high pressure water stream to spray all over the backyard!   I turned off the water at the front of the house and thinking to myself, I can fix this!.

Unfortunately  the metal casing broke off inside the fixture and with a baby crying at the same time, I decided to call a plumber.   I've heard of Red Cap, and have seen their trucks everywhere, so I called them (after hours) and was greeted by a professional young lady who was gathering my story and information.   Within the hour, the technician came to my home, quietly knocking on the door (as per my request with my baby sleeping) to not wake up my son, came out to the back yard and quietly replaced the hose faucet fixture within the hour.

I haven't had to call many plumbers before, but I have to say, the professionalism and communication between their dispatch and technician made a homeowner and father VERY happy the other night!

Don took great care of us at Red Cap! Last year we purchased a new a/c system and duct work install from another company. As it happens sometimes, our job was one that got botched beyond repair! Thankfully the company was honorable and gave a full refund and removed the system. My husband and I were very cautious having a second round at this. Don was very patient with us working through the details and assured us, because of our past experience with the other company, that he would put his best guys on our job...and he did! Jose and Ras did a great job and took care to work with us through the install. Their work is clean and organized. It was especially nice to have only 2 installers to complete the entire job and completed ahead of schedule. We are very pleased with Red Cap's perfomance and quality of work. Don carefully helped us size our a/c with consideration to our future home additions and preparing our ductwork to accept additional outlets. Also, when we asked about additional components, he never oversold us on what we didn't need. I would also like to give a shout out to Roger and the techs who worked with us to move our water heater location and plumbing pipes. We look forward to being with Red Cap for our future maintenance needs!

We've used Red Cap plumbing for over 20 years for all of our plumbing needs.  They have always been reliable, even in times of emergencies, when service was needed in a hurry.  Pricing is always fair and the technicians are courteous, respectful, willing to educate, and are always successful in getting us back on our feet as quick as they can.

Today, with water leaking from the ceiling in the kitchen, Sindo and Elijah came out, assessed the issue and moved quickly to resolve the problem. We're back in business because of their expert work.

I would like to say. They took care of the job. However, I had a toilet line that had been leaking and needed to be replaced, which took 30 mins total, that was great. It only needed a new valve and a line to connect back to the toilet. That job cost me $180. I had another plumber look at it, and said it should have only cost you about $80 to $100 dollars. I take this as a lesson learn. I hate to see the price for a real job. Great service, but at that price for a small job overpriced.

MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS BEFORE YOU USE THIS COMPANY!!!  Red Cap plumbing is a fraudulent, dishonest business.  We had a bad smell coming from one of our bathrooms so we called them to come out.  The plumber got there and told us the problem.  A simple fix.  The shower has barely been used so the drain needed to be flushed by running water through the drain.  Realizing that this was not going to be a BIG ticket item, the plumber said while I am here, let me check to make sure everything else it working.  I was not at home and he was dealing with my wife so I assume he thought she was an EASY target.  Bottom line is that he proceeded to test our water and told us that our water was unsafe and UNDRINKABLE (including our water filter) because of the levels of chlorine.  He said it would be safer to drink our pool water.  He said the only fix was a filtration system that would have cost over $5k.  After my wife told me this, I immediately went out and bought a water testing kit only to find out that there was nothing wrong with our water except it being a little hard.  Thinking that I might not have tested it correctly and wanting to add another level of security, I called another plumber to give a second opinion.  HE CAME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION.  THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH OUR WATER, except for it being a LITTLE HARD.

I have never dealt with a company as blatantly fraudulent as Red Cap.  It is a disgrace to lie and deceive a consumer like that and pray on what they feel are unsuspecting clients.  They saw a nice house and what they thought was a sucker and tried to gouge us.

I called to speak with the owner/manager and NO ONE called me back.  Not surprising at all from a company that has perfected scams!

BOTTOM LINE...DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRUMASTANCE USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

Called because of a stench in my home I thought was coming from the air vent in one room. Technician said the stench hit him in the face when he opened the AC unit, and that our ducts were full of biological growth. A Red Cap consultant came late in the day and said the same thing, then quoted us an outrageous price for total replacement of all equipment/ducts (I'll just say it was the price of a vehicle).

Called another company for a second opinion and he insisted I come along with him as he checked the unit. Unit smells FINE, works FINE, the ducts have some dust but no mold/mildew, and either the tech or the consultant had knocked the drainage line loose and started a leak that had been dripping into our ceiling for 24 hours. Some investigation revealed the stench was coming from our chimney/fireplace and just circulating into the AC system. Spent a couple hundred dollars for wildlife removal to come deal with the dead bird in the chimney.

A few days later, Red Cap sent me the quote.... except it was for a totally different customer/amount. LOL. Avoid these people.

Worked for this company and the reviews I read are right, scam operation all the way. We would have a guy come out and quote you a price and then another guy would follow and lowball you for the business. Very unethical if you are giving one guy the business and the ability to discount but not all

Terrible place to work and terrible place to do business with.

Monday Memorial Day at 8PM our garage flooded from a broken pipe... Water gushing everywhere... My wife frantically called Red Cap Plumbing... Mary immediately picked up the phone and told me not to worry as our problem would be corrected that same evening...  Susan called me within 5 minutes to say that a technician was on his way... A short time later Josh pulled up in the Red Cap van...  He is wonderful, calm and a true professional...  This young man certainly proved what 100% customer satisfaction is all about...  Within no time Josh had the problem corrected and reassured me that it would stay corrected...  The holiday cost was very reasonable...  Thank you Red Cap plumbing and Josh for a job well done...  Lorraine and Bob Koryus

First time using Red Cap.  Service excellent.  Friendly on phone, showed up on time for estimate... The first part of the A/C installation and communication was ok, but now we are still waiting on the completion of their job after months! After several calls over the past few months asking to schedule and complete the final inspection (needed a second after the first installation failed inspection with the county) and installation of a few air vent covers, we are STILL waiting. Their second batch of technicians left many marks inside the house they have yet to clean up. Do NOT use Red Cap!

Michael and Luke were great and showed up everyday on time and ready to get to work on my repipe. They kept me informed during the entire process and kept a great attitude even when faced with an unexpected issue that they had no control over, but need to figure out a solution to the problem. I was really impressed. A repipe can be intrusive, but their techniques and skill made it look easy with minimal destruction to my home.

I needed a plumber right now so Red Cap reviews on Yelp got the first call and they called me right back, and came promptly. My very professional technician, Jerry Calhoun assessed the repair and fixed it for a reasonable price. I am very happy with my service.

I was very grateful to Red Cap Plumbing for sending Jeremy Kimball to my home.  I called with an emergency request as water was coming out of the pipe under the master sink and flooding the master bath and into the master bedroom.  Jeremy was able to identify the root cause of the problem, explain the fix and execute efficiently.   He also took the time to test it and show me where the water on/off options for my home are so we are prepared for the future.

Scheduled a inside piping replacement job and am very pleased with outcome. Customer service for scheduling was excellent and technician (Michael) was thoughtful in keeping me apprised of his arrival time. The work was performed efficiently and the area was cleaned up nicely. While waiting for the glue to fully dry, I was offered a lot of good advice about maintaining installed systems and about the availability of Red Cap's program for such. Michael was professional, courteous, and a pleasure to speak with. This was my the third time using Red Cap and can highly recommend them.

Jessica came over to give us a quote for a new AC unit. She said we had tears and holes in our ductwork so it needed to be changed. She also said our copper lines needed to be replaced. When it came time to quote us, we respectfully told her we would be getting other quotes.

She tried to make us feel like it was an emergency. Okay, no...  We've known we needed to change the unit for a year at that point. She asked for my credit card number so that when I let her know she can charge us the deposit.  Okay, no...

Then it became a haggling war with Jessica as the only participant.  She originally quoted us at around $15k for the work but went down to about $9k when she saw we weren't going to sign on the dotted line. They obviously are not interested in giving you an upfront fair price.

A different company came over to give us a quote and the items Jessica said were damaged were indeed not damaged.

I would not recommend this company.

Ok, so i don't normally leave reviews over work done at my home but these guys did an amazing job!
The day I called Red Cap for an estimate I had a representative at my home within a couple of hours. He showed up and was well informed on all his products.  Very respectful and took his time with me and went over everything needed for my job. Also they under bid the other 4 quotes I had received over the past few days.
so in closing if you want 1) great service 2)knowledgeable workers 3)respectful workers who have been background checked  4)best pricing you want Red Cap plumbing!
thanks again you guys for working within my R&R from Afghanistan tight time frame.

Great job y'all!

product installed was a A.O. Smith 50Gal hybrid hot water tank.
FYI its amazing and saving me boat loaded of money on my electric bill.

Thanks,

Our highly trained and professional staff are eagerly waiting to serve you. You've seen this statement before, but in the case of Red Cap Plumbing it's true. I called Red Cap at midnight last night because I had a main line sewer blockage between my house and the street. The first thing this morning Nick showed up to get me draining again. He sat down with me and explained what my options were to resolve my problem. I found Nick to be straightforward and knowledgeable about my situation. I found the rate I paid for his services (and for future visits if needed) to be very reasonable. And I mean reasonable. Lets face it, if you can't take a shower or flush a toilet, what's that worth to you? I read as many reviews as I can on goods and sevices before I part with my money and I hope you find this one helpful. I would not hesitate to call Red Cap again. The first sentence of this review says it all.

This company is a scam.  Had them come out to camera my sewer lines, and then they gave me an estimate for pipe liner.  When i asked how they came to that number (which was WAY high), they told me they couldn't really explain it, well that's just how we estimate.  WHAT??? You can't tell me how you came up with such an insanely  high number?
Then the sales guy slipped and said he is just responsible to keep the guys busy.  Ahhhh - there's the truth.  Folks- shop around, and DO NOT use these scammers.

I hired Red Cap Plumbing on a Friday to clear a clogged drain in my kitchen sink. The technician snaked my drain for ten minutes and said he would be unable to clear the drain and that the drain would require Jet Stream service, another Red Cap employee arrived and quoted a price in the $3,000 range for Jet Stream service. I was charged $242 for the ten minutes of drain snaking. I called Roto Rooter and they cleared the drain by snaking. The clog was few feet back in the drain and would not have been cleared by the Jet Stream service that red Cap tried to sell me.
I was unhappy with the Service provided by Red Cap and felt that it did not meet the terms of the Company's Guarantee

FULL CORNER SAFETY Guarantee
We guarantee that our Red Cap AC Pros will never cut corners to get your job done. That means we will never compromise the quality of the job or your safety with any of the services we provide--regardless of what it costs us. We do it the right way, every time.

I called the Red Cap office on the same Friday and requested to speak with a manager to discuss my dissatisfaction with the services provided, I was told I would receive a call back. When I did not receive a call back I called back on the following  Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each time I was promised a call back.

I never received a call back.
My experience is totally head scratching and stunning taking in to consideration all of the on-line positive reviews I read prior to selecting Red Cap.

Just had to repair a wax seal on our toilet that was leaking. Nathaniel P. from Red Cap was our technician. For only being 25 years old he was knowledgeable well beyond his years. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to talk with. He explained every option we had and when we decided on one he executed the service perfectly. I would definitely hire him if I was running my own company. I work in a service industry business and I really appreciated his professionalism and honesty. He took the time to fully explain the situation and the solutions. This is the second time we have used Red Cap and each time their employees and technicians have been exceptional. And their work has been flawless. I truly trust them for any plumbing needs we might have in the future.

Place is a complete scam, they train their employees to rip you off and replace parts and/or systems you do not need.  Avoid at all costs, told me I needed a complete system replacement and never even looked out the outside unit, where the $85.00 recharge and leak seal is still holding up a year and a half later. DO NOT LET THEM OPERATE unsupervised, they will literally break lines and create problems that do not exist in order to charge you more.  Look up the reviews on Reddit from people who actually worked for them if you do not want to take my word for it.

My water softener wouldn't drain.I called these people and they were able to replace it for $3000, which I found out was three times the amount any other place would have charged.  I was under treatment and doctor's care at the time, so my thinking was a bit impaired at the time. I voiced my displeasure at the situation and was told a manager would contact me, never heard from anyone since. I would NOT recommend doing business with this company that I would consider unethical.

Hi, I would trust Redcap Plumbling with my house keys. Adrian and John came out today ready to work and solve my sewage backup problem. John checked for drainage by turning all faucets, dishwasher, washing machine and flushed all toilets. He was satisfied that the drainage was ok with all draining at basic Lu the same time and didn't overload drain and cause a backup.  Adrian arrived a short time after to locate clean out with camera and found bad hose on washer leaking. He also noticed a code violation on the stand the water heater was on very dangerous would like to replace as he digested for safety. He also removed downstairs toilet and used camera to determine that pipes were old and effecting drainage and should be replaced. Adrian did a lot work and used tools and devices I had never seen. John and Adrian cleaned up when they finished and were very polite and professional. Thx for the safety tips. I think my sewage drainage problems will finally be addressed. Thx Redhat plumbers

In January 2021, Red Cap Plumbing and Air installed a new A/C in our home.

In the summer of 2021, our system shut off and we called for a tech.  Tech told us that we needed a UV light and that biologics had grown in our system causing backups in the drain pipe.  We thought a UV light had be installed with the new system, but according to the tech it had not.  The following day we had the same issue and another tech came out and remediated the issue.  We paid for this service.

On December 1, 2021, a tech came to our house for a checkup.  He recommended the installation (tried to upsale us) of a surge protector (this seemed weird) and the UV light due to biologic growth.  Again, we were confused and noted this should have been installed already.  After speaking with one of the installation techs (Manny) it turns out these were supposed to be installed and never was.  Manny scheduled Techs for December 2, 2021 and they came out and supposedly installed both.  We received no follow up from Red Cap.

On December 10, 2021, we contacted Red Cap and asked for an explanation as to what happened.  We were told a manager would respond the following week.

After receiving no follow up call, we called back on December 14, 2021 and asked for someone to call.

December 15, 2021, we were notified that a tech was coming to our house.  We had not scheduled this and called and asked for an explanation.  They were unable to give us one and I asked for a manager or owner to return my call and explain what happened.  Dorian returned my call later that day and said he needed a tech to come out and verify or install the UV light.

It is now December 19, 2021, and we have not yet received this follow up for a new AC system that was installed in January of 2021 and almost 1 year later we have no idea if it was installed correctly and the company has received full payment for and extra payments for issues that should have never occurred.

I recently contacted Red Cap for my hot water heater leak. After efficient and easy scheduling, Anselmo Betancourt arrived to help. He did a remarkable job. He was very professional, conversational, and knowledgable. He clearly, and repeatedly because of my requests, laid out all my options and his recommendations. I ended up replacing my hot water heater and was very satisfied with the whole service experience. Prices were fair, in my opinion, and I plan on using them again for any follow-up plumbing work.

The reason for not having a five-star rating is because of the Air technician. During the above service, Red Cap also tuned-up and checked-up my Air Unit. This was done by Marty. I was very underwhelmed and taken aback by his service. In his defense, he did have a lot to live up to compared to Anselmo. However, the jury is still out on my opinion of Red Cap's Air services and technicians.

MY entire A/C unit and air ducts were replaced by Red Cap A/C Division. It ended up leaking and ruined my wood flooring. John Gennaro the owner of the company came to my house after many complaints from me and gave me a discount on the A/C unit for the leaking.  When the second A/C leak occurred from the drain line they installed which did damage to the wood flooring AGAIN, I called and requested service to fix this leak....they made all kinds of excuses as to why this happened and they were trying to place blame of the leak on everything but what work they did.  Their technician came out and I was told there was an error in the drain pipe placement AND the drainpipe was leaking and it had to be moved because it was not placed over the drip pan correctly. I also had a shut off switch added to prevent any further overflow of water if another leak did occurred which did not work because the leaking water never reached the drip pan because it was wrongly place.... the switch and drip pan  and drain pipe were purchased from Red Cap at the time of installation/purchase.  Five days later after not hearing back from Red Cap on when this was going to be repaired I made another call to Red Cap A/C ....they send out a technician to repair the wrongly placed leaking drain line. The repair was done......AGAIN INCORRECTLY..... now the moved drain line they relocated is entirely blocking the A/C filter. NOW the filter can't be changed because the drain line is placed in front of the filter entrance with no way of putting in or removing the old filter. Now I have to schedule another appointment to have this fixed. THE DAMAGES MADE BY THEIR NEGLIGENCE RESULTED IN ME HAVING TO MAKE AN INSURANCE CLAIM FOR THE REPAIRS AND THE DAMAGE TO MY FLOORING.  By this time I've had it ...I text the owner John Gennaro stating all the problems I'm having and in an ERROR TEXT TO THE WRONG PERSON HE RESPONDS THIS IS THAT CRAZY LADY THAT RUNS ......CLUB clearly this text was intended for a co-worker not me. My response to him was NO THIS IS THE CUSTOMER THAT HAS SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WITH YOUR COMPANY NOT ONLY FOR CLEARLY TERRIBLE A/C SERVICES.. BUT FOR YOUR PLUMBING SERVICES AS WELL.

DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY.

THEY CLEARLY DON'T CARE ABOUT OR RESPECT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

One would think, and the Customer Experience VP (Jason, I believe his name was) is that at the end of your experience with Red Cap, your problem would be resolved. Unfortunately that was not my experience.

I was told I needed a water heater replacement. Simple, right? I mean mine was old, it wasn't leaking, but it was old. So sure, I went with the new heater to be installed the next day.

Install day.  I get a call when he was supposed to arrive, he's running an hour late.  Fine, thank you for calling. Mid-install he takes off.  An hour?  Two?  I don't know I was trying not to hover over the dude. Anyway, the finishes the install and informs me the new unit isn't firing and blames it on the electrical panel. He then proceeds to call his buddy the electrician, and lets him know he has a 'non Red Cap' job and has me schedule time to have this dude do work on my panel. I schedule time just to get rid of this dude. As soon as the Red Cap guy leaves I find my own electrician and then cancel the first.  My guy, shows me the wire had been cut. I pay to get this corrected.

Remember Jason, the Customer Experience VP? He was supposed to call me back.  Did he? Of course not.  Did he return any of my calls over the next week? Nope. The next week?  Nope. And they have refused to answer any question made by the home warranty company.

Total cost of dealing with Red Cap: $2,365.95.  And too many days without hot water.

Anyways, this was my Red Cap experience. Proceed with caution.

On Friday night, 4 days before Christmas:

A neighbor kid broke our irrigation pipe playing in our yard and water was pouring into the street. I finally got the water turned off and my wife called Red Cap. Two hours later, Josh Upthegrove had our water on and was on his way at a fair price. Josh is an extremely kind young man who took the time to explain everything to me and he had an awesome customer service attitude about him. Many companies these days don't realize customer is spelled with a capital C. Red Cap obviously gets it.

I can only hope my boys turn out as nice and respectful as Josh. Great company.

Do not use this company. I had Red Cap do plumbing and HVAC work when I first bought my condo. The plumber charged me for something that I did not want done ($150) and did not fix the problem that I called them about. He left my bathroom an absolute mess.

The HVAC guy came because my AC completely stopped working.
He said he had to replace two capacitors ($772 total) and then I scheduled a cleaning as well. A different guy came to clean a few days later. I was charged $89 for a cleaning, which was done in late March.
Yesterday, my AC stopped working again. I had a new company come out today and the drain pipe was completely clogged (something that I paid Red Cap to fix). Red Cap not only has high prices, but they don't even do the work that you pay them to do!!!! I have contacted them several times and they do not call back.

I can't believe Costco has them as a vendor. I will definitely be calling Costco, so that they may reconsider them as a partner.

Called to arrange for their advertised $49 a/c tune up. Appnt scheduled for 4/12 between 12-6. At around 3:00 they called and said Tech couldn't get there today and rescheduled for Sun. 8-12. Sun. at around 11:00 they call and say tech will be there in 1 - 1/12 hours. Two hours go by...no tech. I call and was told Tech is on his first job and I'm next. I informed him that I got a text yesterday telling me tech would be here at 8:00 am, so I assumed I was the first job. I waited and finally a little after 3:00 Tech shows up (different than the tech they emailed earlier). I told him this would be a quick visit as this was just a tune up & cleaning. He said that the tune up just means they inspect everything and then make recommendations for what needs to be done, including if cleaning should be done, and then provide estimates. I told him that although I didn't blame him, I believe this was deceitul on the part of Red Cap, and they should have explained that to me when I first called requesting tune up & clean using the $49 coupon. I wasted two entire days, only to learn that Red Cap uses a bait & switch tactic. They will NEVER have the opportunity to disappoint me again!!

UPDATE***
After the first review I called them back out as we signed up for the maintaince plan and had them look at the air conditioner. The sales comfort adviser was a real treat. He came out and what a slick sales man. First he says did you see all the mold in your handler? No..
He says I will have the tech send photos he took to me. After asking 2x for them I still haven't seen the pictures. instead of trying to fix the problem as the unit and handler are 8 years old. He advised we need all new duck work and Air conditioning system. 18k and change, 16 seer or 14k for 14 seer. Then Mr. Comfort Advisor became compassionate... since he knew the water heater in the house was old he said the big boss would give us one for free because they are compassionate about us being a young family. Since the estimate I asked him 2 TIMES to document what they found in the ducks and what an estimate for the air ducks would be. WELL MR. Comfort has not responded nor replied in any manor. Finally do I believe this company has a crew like this. Absolutely not, But I will tell you I hope this man stays away from the elderly. Im glad he pulled this on me and not my grandparents. Comfort advisors name was Don.. BE AWARE ...

Very Pleased, I called the crew at red Cap and they showed up the same day and did a fantastic job. We had a clogged drain in our new home. Come to find out it was dried grease. John the tech went above and beyond. Personally exceeded my expectations and thank you again

I had a backed-up toilet that wouldn't flush for days. Called Red Cap, they gave me the earliest appointment of all the companies I called. Nick, the technician showed up on time, described what he was going to do, put on his booties, and within 5-10 mins, made the bathroom horror disappear! He then offered to have another technician come by with flexible cameras to examine my piping for unseen defects (at no cost to me!).

And exactly as promised, 3 days later that person showed up and I wasn't asked for dime. Red Cap has certainly won me over- never calling any other plumbing service!

We had an emergency situation this morning.  We call Red Cap and they responded quickly!  Our sprinkler pipes started spraying water aggressively due to a crack in the piping.  From the urgent call I made to the company til the job was fixed/completed, every person was pleasant and understanding of the urgency of the situation.
Riccardo S. was our service technician...he did an outstanding job!!!  He was so knowledgeable and took time to educate us too...which we truly appreciated.
We will use them whenever necessary!!!  Thanks much Red Cap.

There are 3 big reasons why I am extremely angered from this encounter.

1. He got there around 7-8pm est. That is in the evening and I had a very serious leak going on. He wasn't late, but I was hoping he knew it was a tense situation. When he got here he was cracking jokes and sharing stories as water was flooding out of the broken pipe. And I didn't respond with the same lightheartedness, but honestly everyone is different so I let it go. Than as the conversation went on he started developing a condescending attitude on top of still throwing around a very disrespectful casual attitude where I would ask serious questions and he would just respond with a joke that forced me to ask again if this is what he meant. I eventually had to call 911 because he wouldn't give me a straight answer on how to contact the city's emergency line because he couldn't fix the issue himself after talking down to us about how he can fix it.

2. He gave us an outrageous and criminal quote and after I told him no, he started to shut down and instead of just leaving he stuck around and kept a very casual attitude when it was crystal clear I didn't appreciate it. (He also didn't even email me the receipt, I had to call the office).

3. He than left his company tools in the yard which we were nice enough to hold for him. We called him back and at this point it was almost 9 or 10pm I believe. When he got there and I handed him the tools, and I noticed that he had broken the valve in the ground (city property) by twisting too hard (which was fine because the city came out and replaced it and they would have had to regardless of whether or not he broke it) but than he took the tools with a neutral face and didn't say thank you either. He just looked upset for us doing him a favor and letting him know he left company tools here.

I understand it was a bad situation but I can't understand why he couldn't have been more respectful and less condescending during a late night, very tense situation. It's one thing to joke around when you meet someone, but it's a choice to keep doing it after it's clear the other person doesn't appreicate it. I think as a plumber he is qualified, but his customer service skills SPECIFICALLY during tense situations leaves a lot to be desired. I won't be using red cap plumbing and air. I will be telling those who ask for recommendations to look else where. It really made a nightmare night into a worse one. I truly feel that I wasted 80 dollars, my emotional well being, 2 hours of my time, and a massive amount of water.

PS - PLEASE READ - I would like to say the office staff and customer service I received over the phone was a little They were polite but extremely slow in the refund process by not addressing the case. The manager after being 14 days late was not friendly or apologetic at all. He spat out an apology with the tone of annoyance that this was somehow caused by me. Than he doubled the time to give me refund to 14 days when before it was 7 days. 1 star for the office staff as well. Krystal though was  10/10. She was exceptional. But the manager was not

Not sure what is going on at Red Cap but their service level has decreased while their prices have gone up. I've used them in the past for both my home and my business but in the last year, I've not been happy. The charges for their services are ridiculous. I just paid $141 to have a less than $5 gasket replaced on my toilet and then it still didn't work. Got fed up with waiting for 4 hours for someone to come and fix something that should've been done right the first time. So I watched a YouTube video and fixed it myself. Lesson learned, I'll do that first and save myself a lot of inconvenience and money. I recommend y'all do the same.

We redid all three bathrooms in our house in April and used Red Cap.
Curtis and the crew were at our home on several occasions for many hours
They are neat and courteous
They did a great job and we had lots to do since all the sinks , toilets and showers needed to be hooked up
Curtis went out of his way to get parts for us  so we could get the job finished

came on time to install a reverse osmosis faucet that replaced a leaky one. Technician was polite, did a professional job, made sure no leaks after the install, and said to call if any issues should arise. The price was fair. I have used Red Cap approximately 6-7 times for different plumbing related issues. They are very quick with appointments and were able to accommodate around my busy work schedule which is very rare these days. Will continue to use this company

A big shout-out to Jerry of Red Cap Plumbing who is truly a man of his word.  Red Cap came out to clear the main water line of roots, but also spent time trying to convince me that what I really needed were the iron pipes replaced  with PVC in the front yard.  I declined and paid the $169.00 charge even though the bill stated work unable to be done.   I called another plumber, the line was cleared of the roots, and no problems since.

I felt it fair that, since I had paid for a job that the bill clearly stated it wasn't done, that I might  be entitled to part or all of the $169.00 that I had paid.   I talked with Jerry, explained what took place........he was respectful, I felt heard,  and a refund check arrived this past week!.

My opinion of Red Cap has gone 180 degrees because of his integrity....he truly is a man of his word....

I would certainly recommend Red Cap and Jerry!

Scammers!! Run!

Sad company, taking advantage of a mother, knowing she has two babies in 90 degree heat and knows nothing about AC systems.

AC broke, they said we needed to replace the unit but it was the float switch was the problem at the moment. Charged $300 for the $20 parts, and installed two for no reason and botched the install so we would have to call back and buy an overpriced unit from them! The company who installed our new unit brought it to our attention and were appalled. Company refused to refund or make right in anyway.

Would honestly give 0 stars if it were possible, simply for the fact that the people answering their phones are completely disorganized. I used the online appointment request since it was after hours.... heard nothing the next day. Called them at noon and was told they would be out by 330 pm. Finally called again at 530 pm for a status update. Turns out, the woman I spoke with earlier in the day had scheduled me for service next month instead!! Rescheduled for the next day. Plumber was very nice and helpful, but their office staff need to work on their communication.

On a separate occasion a week later, I had also spoken to three different people in their office about another issue and was assured they could handle it. When my appointment time rolled around, I received a call from the plumber apologizing because they cannot do that type of repair. Quite frustrating.

We had contracted to have all our lines hydro-scrubbed and Picote lined as a preventative measure.    Had some minor annoyances 1) they did not call prior to arrival as promised 2) didn't restore the exterior to how it looked before they started, 3) never received a copy of our contract 4) never got the promised before/after video.

Major Issues included: 1) Flooded my main bath and hall with sewer overflow (never cleaning up the disgusting mess in the toilet and tub! pics below). 2) Never cleaned the overflow on the closet floor in the bathroom so it sat there for hours on our new LVT (I asked if there would be any overflow and they they assured me there would not be!).  They did a cursory cleaning of the floors but since is seeped under the LVT I am sure it will be gross soon or lifting the floor since there is no way to clean between/under the LVT where this overflow seeped.  They told me this overflow was from a low flange but we NEVER had any issue with that toilet.  To their credit they did give me a flange cover.   3) They did not hydro the kitchen lines that were in contract (they didn't bother to read the work scope) and when I asked about it they told me it was too late since the Picote could not get wet - they said they will come back next week to do,  I don't have much confidence with that.  4)First flush of the toilet in the master bath and its leaking!   (do we call them back - still waffling on that).   For $7000 I expected more professional work.

I had great hopes as the estimator Jonathan was  good but I am beyond disappointed!

Carl arrived from Red Cap and assessed our leaky faucet. We'd already spent a couple hours trying & failing to disassemble it and he pointed out how this obsolete design worked. We were then able to fix if ourselves, actually we completely replaced he safety shut off valves and the entire faucet - so no more ugly brass fixture in the bathroom. While this might seem counter-productive for Red Cap, the truth is this: if we have a plumbing issue that we can't tackle or don't have the time for, we WILL call Red Cap and specifically request Carl.

Called Red Cap to the house to replace a faucet in the guest bathroom.  We had already purchased the new one so no parts were necessary.  Upon completion the bill was nearly $700.   I am no plumber but that is ridiculous!   When I inquired  prior to the service how much it would cost I was informed that the service technician would determine that upon completion of the job.  Well, when that time came, I was then informed of the set price of $700 for that specific job.  I would have NEVER used Red Cap if I had known I was going to be charged a king's randsom.   Total BS!

Do NOT use this company unless you want to overpay several hundred dollars for a simple job.

I can't believe how bad my service has been. I could write a book and honestly I can't believe I kept  using them.  The last chapter: Today someone finally came to fix my unit. 1 of 3. It seems that three technicians could not decide what was wrong with it. The tech that came today said I only had clogged drains. 25 minutes after he left. It stopped working again. The scheduler told me someone would come back out today. No one came. When I called the after hours line the lady that said she would call me back no matter what, didn't call me back. The best part is, a second unit that had nothing wrong with it now needs a new compressor. A unit I never asked them to touch. They quoted me $3000 to fix that unit. Then they called me back stating they didn't want to loose my business and brought it down to $1500... the unit was under warranty so that was the real price deduction.  Hmm interesting that now I have two units in need of repair when I started with one.

Called for a AC replacement quote through Costco. The sales rep was nice but their quote was double that of a competitor and they tried to sell us a unit that was much larger than actually needed for our home. The sales rep also asked what I did for a living - huge red flag.

Predatory sales practices. You call them out for one thing and they insist on up selling you for everything you did not ask for. I asked to have one leaking valve repair and the repair man said if I'm gonna go under there (kitchen sink!!) I'm gonna replace both of them because I don't want to have to come back next week because the other one is leaking. I'm paying you for the service? Why does it matter if you have to come back next week.

No worries, enjoy your $30 for coming out, you don't have to worry about coming out next week, or ever.

Great work!!

We interviewed two plumbing companies after a third slab leak made it necessary to re-pipe our whole house. The first company was highly recommended and we had used them for smaller jobs, but we thought it would be smart to get a second bid--and I'm so glad we called Red Cap to give us a quote! Red Cap's bid came in $900 lower. Our technicians were Jack and Luis--what a fantastic team, both super pleasant and professional. They did exceptionally neat work on both the visible and hidden areas. These guys are pros!

I bought their gold plan where they graciously come out every 6 months to do a free inspection.  Both times they recommended more than a thousand dollars in maintenance-- which I did not take them up on.  Their prices are outrageous.  I get the feeling that their purchase plans are just meant to fleece suckers.  I am definitely through with them.  (One of the items I actually did fix with another plumber for $200 when Red Cap wanted $700).  Stay away.

We needed extensive work done under our kitchen sink, and the plumber sent by Red Cap was fantastic. Billy G. was young and new to Red Cap, but when I inquired about his experience he said 8 years plus. He was so polite! Very patient with our questions, conscience, and cool under pressure. He didn't have all the parts he needed and went to two different supply houses to get what he needed so he could finish the job, (he also skipped lunch, and literally ran back and forth from his truck with his tools to make up time). We gave him a second job to fix an outside water spigot since he did such good work for us in the kitchen. Use Red Cap, and ask for Billy G. He's AMAZING!

Red Cap Plumbing and Air truly exceeded my expectations. We had been without hot water for 5 days and they sent Brent to the rescue.

We called a competitors and they charge me $155 to tell me what I already knew, then wanted to charge me another $155+ to install the part.

My coworker suggested I contact Red Cap. After speaking with Red Cap and explaining our concern, they offered to waive the $29 fee to troubleshoot the problem. Brent from Red Cap, fully diagnosed the problem and realized that there was another hidden issue as soot built up on the burner preventing the pilot light from staying on and properly heating the water. I asked Brent if they matched competitor pricing.  He immediately contacted his manager and received approval to match the price.

What really impressed me was that Brent was very thorough and was able to properly explain the problem and recommend an appropriate solution.

I had red cap out to my home because I was having a problem with my air conditioner. They sent out two very young technicians, which I had no problem with they checked my outside unit never went up into my addict and checked my return, and they never pulled my thermostat off the wall to check the batteries, which is a very common reason for the issue I was having. They asked me how old my air conditioner was and I told them it was just coming 10 years old as soon as they heard that they were focused on replacing my entire air conditioning unit. Said the problem was with some motherboard and it would cost $1000 to repair  and that may not fix the problem so I should just replace my entire unit. They kept trying to sell me their insurance through their company and replacing my unit that's all they were focused on. They charged me $89 to do absolutely nothing the next day I had another air-conditioning company come out the first thing they did  was pull my thermostat off the wall and when they opened it, the batteries had exploded in the thermostat and ruined my thermostat so they put a new thermostat up and my air conditioner has worked beautifully ever cents. This company is all about selling you new AC units they want to make as much money as possible , they don't want to fix problems. I then called to speak with the manager to let them know what had happened never received a call back. This is a very unprofessional company that is only out to screw people. I would give this company a 0 star if it were possible. They have horrible customer service. My friend used them in an emergency plumbing situation. Someone came out at 1 AM on a Thursday night. He stated he could not fix he issue and said he would send someone out the next evening which he did. They way overcharged for the work that they completed. They cleared a soft block in the line and charged 1300$. These people are so dishonest. A credit card was given to be used on the work that was completed. They called my friend omg the MIDDLE of a busy work day to ask again how he would be paying. This was two days after the final work was completed. He again told them to use the credit card that he had given them initially. TWO days later he got a notice in the mail that he owed them money and if he did Not immediately that they would put a LIEN against his property!!!!!! What kind of business treats their customers like this??? Absolute fiasco. Lawn care hit the refrigerant line to our unit. Red cap schedules a tech to come out; tech calls us pre arrival giving us every reason under the sun why he can't show up/can't do anything- all without seeing the unit. Says refrigerant will need replaced and will cost $2000 and we can thank Biden for that. Tech cancels appointment; we call dispatch and get a similar experience with the dispatcher including holding to the $2000 quote. Will never use them again for anything. Absolute garbage.

Update: After a 2nd Yelp update, their corporate office finally got in touch with me again, and offered to refund the original cost of their work. While it didn't cover the cost of the repairs necessitated by their plumber's substandard work, it is at least something. However, in my opinion they would have never gotten back in touch with me if I hadn't continued to provide an update on Yelp review. While I will upgrade my rating slightly for them eventually responding and offering (with no apology) a refund, I still would not recommend using their services.

We own a few multifamily buildings in Tampa and I had Red Cap do 3 repiping projects. The 1st went smoothly since it was smaller but I wasn't as happy with the 2 larger ones. The 2 Assessors they have are nice but working with a different Assessor for each of the larger projects I found there was lack of good communication. The building is occupied by tenants and after beginning work, I'd have to ask the office about when water would be off. Also one of the projects was left for the city to inspect but then they didn't come back to refill all the trenches they had dug around the yard until I called. One assessor at the last project promised me drawings to show where the new pipes were put in but that was never given to me. Overall, if you're doing a larger repiping project and spending thousands of dollars, I'd go with another company that values you as a customer.

Purchased a service contract that included A/C and Plumbing for $199.00 the A/c cleaning was an absolute joke a 5 year old unit and the tech tried to sell me over $6.000.00 dollars in repairs, the salesman/tech didn't even change or inquire about the filter. However on the plumbing side Yes we had a 50 your old pipes and the were clogged. John the owner and his tech gave me 3 estimates 1 it could work.  2 it should work,  and 3 over 4.000. And it will work knowing that the system needed flushing after reminding the sales/tech of our 15% discount we went forward with option 3 it will work after discount and 50% down they sent Orlando and his Assistant to clean the pipes, they were professional and mindful of making sure everything was cleaned up, over all these two gentleman did an excellent job. However conversation with a neighbor who has a plumbing company, this was an very high price to pay for this job. Orlando and his Assistant were very very good. As for Red Cap buyer beware, their going to go as far into your pocket as they can.

Had a very small leak in the PVC pipe leading to the  hose valve. They came out and gave my mom an estimate of $632. She was freaking out about the leak and had them fix it. Mind you, this was less then 8 of PVC pipe and about 30 of service time. $632...... plus the invoice said that she saved a approximately $175 because she was part of the yearly club......

This company is a complete rip off. Talking to the service manager he told me he wasn't sure what the problem was. He told me that I needed to back off when I had slightly raised my voice (no yelling, screaming or swearing) and when I told him I would not, he thanked me for the call and hung up the phone.

This company gouges the people that hire them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING AT ALL.........

We had a leak from upstairs to downstairs and called Red Cap Plumbing   They said we needed a new AC unit.  The salesperson was very nice and informative.  We purchased the AC unit with them and the date they did the install they said they were missing a piece and would be back the next day.  They never showed.  I had to call a week later to have them come out to install the missing part.  We did not pass inspection 2 times and had to take off work for them to fix the issues to pass inspection and then take work off for the inspector to come back 2 out of the 3 times....very inconvenient.  As part of purchasing the AC unit they were scheduled to perform a free plumbing inspection.  They did not show during the scheduled time and called to say they could come at a later time.  No thank you!

We had several small plumbing repairs needed: new water shutoff valves in the kitchen and bathroom, a new P-trap in the bathroom, and a safety overflow pipe for the water heater. The plumber that came out quoted $3,200, claiming it would take over 6 hours! Outraged, I called their office number to discuss the ludicrous price. Among the line items was $1,100 for changing out the P-trap, which is a $20 part and takes about 10 min of work. They offered to take the price down to $3,000 so obviously I didn't bite.

As the plumber was leaving he wanted to charge me an additional $250 for some diagnostic work that he claimed he did, though he couldn't specify what that was. We hadn't asked for anything besides the $89 service call that we agreed to when we initially called Red Cap for the appointment since we were in a jam and needed someone quickly. I told him I wasn't paying more than the $89 we agreed to on the phone and he reluctantly backed down.

Luckily we were able to locate another licensed plumber who came out that same day, did all the work in one hour and charged $425!

Red Cap is a rip-off scam company. I don't know how they sleep at night charging what they do. It's unreal they're allowed to operate in this manner. It's pure price gouging.

I had the below coupon, see all below fine print pasted directly from the company's website. Upon arrival the plumber, Franklyn, immediately tried to over charge me $242. He also tried sell me on other services. Once I informed him I had the coupon which was mentioned when I scheduled my appointment he was frustrated. Franklyn initially claimed the service on the coupon could not be completed on my shower. I informed him that the person I spoke to over the phone the day prior made no mention of this. I told him if it could not be used to have a nice day. I did my research and already spoke to another conpany about this so I knew what to expect. He went to contact his office from his truck. He returned to my house and informed me he could not guarantee any future work nor prices but would honor the $99, ok thats what I asked for. He snaked the shower, no clean out or camera used as stated on the coupon. I wanted this guy out of my house sooner than later. The shower was no longer clogged I paid the $99 with a promise to never use this company again. I gave this company two stars since the work was performed but not to the standard advertised. I also did not like feeling as if they were trying to take advantage of me. Thank God I know people in the business who informed me of the work that needed to be done. Unfortunately they are not nearby to clear the clog.
$99 Drain Cleaning - Guaranteed Clog-Free

$99 per accessible cleanout, includes free camera inspection, Residential drains only.

How to redeem: Just mention promotion to us when scheduling your appointment.

Must received camera inspection for clog-free guarantee. Restrictions apply. Residential drains only. Must mention offer when scheduling. Not valid on past services.

This is the 2nd time I have used RedCap Plumbing and both times I was very happy with the service. Ashley answered the phone when I called and she was very firendly/helpful. Nick arrived the following day and took care of my issue quickly and efficiently. He was friendly and explained exactly what he as doing step by step. They also honored a coupon I had received in the mail with no questions asked. Nick cleaned up and was every bit a professional. I will definitely be using them again.

I called this company because I had a leak with my washer and wasn't sure where the water was coming from. They were very responsive and were able to get an appointment very quickly. They are open 24 hours which is wonderful they can send their technicians anytime of the day. They charge 29.95 for dispatch but there are additional fees if they diagnose it so make sure you ask questions so you know there are more charges. Chris came to check the leak and he was wonderful. He has outstanding manners and answered all my questions and made sure that I understood what was wrong with the machine and explained things to me. I really appreciate him and his hard work and I really recommend him to everyone. He run the washer few times to figure out what was happening. Unlike the previous Plummer who came in and did nothing. I will recommend Red Cap to everyone, ask for Chris!

Service and quality were fine. They should have been for the most expensive installation of a kitchen sink and faucet I've ever seen. Receipt included some kind of membership fee I never asked for. Also was not itemized so I'm not sure how I'll use the lifetime warranty on my Moen faucet. Called for an itemized receipt and to ask about the membership charge and no one returned my call. 4 star service but at a 10 star price

Update, they asked for an email to address my concerns. Sent it. No response.

After two years of fighting with a crappy system in my ceiling I decided another bandaid wasn't going to work. Don came out and we walked through the options for replacement and relocation. With a great competitive price and availability I went with red cap over two others.

Jose and Ras came out and mocked out the  demo and install. I know it was tough work in tight confines, but they did a great job'. Now my ac isn't a ticking timebomb, and I can sleep at night in a well conditioned house.

Thanks RedCap - especially, Don, Jose and Ras.

They failed the permit but got paid $7500.00 before they finished, my mistake, don't make my mistake, simply do not hire them.
They left 80 feet of trenched supply lines open in a heavy foot traffic area, they did not install lines through walls to meet city requirements, they did not apply for a mechanical permit and did not complete the work they were paid for,and acknowledged it but let the other employees deal with it.  Very poorly run company, stay away.
Have pictures to prove it, they realized a few weeks later they failed and never came back to finish.  Permit still in failed status.

They will be our go to HVAC company.

We had another company (And Services) come out and try to charge us $1300 to fix a leak in our HVAC. We called Red Cap, who was able to come the next day and instead told us we just had a backed up pipe. They cleaned it and charged us $15.

Michael Bell was extremely professional, efficient and didn't try to scam us.

Two of my friends always use Red Cap and swear by them. They now have a new customer in us as well.

Outrageous pricing, 4 hours after I called to request a minor repair a technician comes out with an attitude and begins to argue about pricing after showing up late.

Do not use this company. Don't wait hours until you have no other option. Never, ever again. And I will tell everyone I know not to use this place. You only get screwed over once.

I went to fix our kitchen faucet this past weekend and when I went to shut off the hot water valve under the sink, I also turned off the hot water line running to the dishwasher. Being old, that valve started leaking quite a bit. It was a soldered on valve and I don't own a torch to unsolder it, so I panicked a bit (I usually can fix most things in the house myself since I grew up helping my handyman Dad) and called a plumber...Red Cap Plumbing. They came about 6 hours later (an hour past the scheduled time). The person was pleasant and was able to quickly (between 15-20 minutes) replace the old valve. I have no problem with the quality of the work...but the cost was absolutely ridiculous. The total came to 332.70! That is for a part anyone can buy for around 10.00 and about 20 minutes of work! I realize it was on a weekend so they charge an 'after hours fee of 80 dollars, but even then that price is highway robbery. While I am glad to have a skillfully replaced shutoff valve under my kitchen sink, I will never call this plumbing company again due to the astronomical pricing.

Chris V at Red Cap saved the day! Right before Christmas the toilet in the main part of the house went out. Bought a new one and called a plumber to install. He came, had trouble with the install because it continued to leak, and just left. I called Red Cap and they sent over Chris V., who was knowledgeable, thorough and just a good guy. After trying to seat the toilet without success, he carried the new toilet (American Standard dual flush) outside, put it on two saw horses, and poured water in while he watched from below. He determined the brand new toilet was defective. I got another new toilet (Kohler) and he installed it perfectly, even grouted around the bottom! It is now Christmas Eve and I have a facility available for the guests coming for our traditional dinner. Thank you Chris!

This is a warning to everyone do not use Redcap plumbing ever! They were trying to fix my Jacuzzi jetted tub for two months now and it is still not fixed. I have paid $500 and had at least five technicians  at my house and a manager.
The First Time Eddie replaced one jet, Then I went to use it again and everything was still leaking. Second time Eddie came out replaced another jet and then broke something else called an actuator.
Third time Eddie came out to replace that  and it still wasn't fixed! He had to come back  because there was air in the line. He came back to fix that and pulled the hot cold water  handle off and did not have the right screw To repair and had to go to home depot to get a new one. They finally sent a new technician Kyle out to replace all the jets and it's still leaking!!
I  spoke to the manager Jason today and he refused doing work for me anymore he told me my tub was too old and he does not want to be held liable!  He is the absolute rudest person I ever spoke to! They make you feel like it's your fault that they can't fix your issue!

The Company
May look good from the outside as far as their nice TV advertisements and their company vehicles. But it's obvious to me The only reason they can afford that is by ripping people off!

I called Red Cap back in June because my kitchen sink was backing up. The tech said it was my garbage disposal that was making it back up and that I needed to replace it. Mind you the one there now was only 1.5 years old. A month later the kitchen sink is backing up yet again. They wanted to charge me almost 400 to snake the drain but what bothers me is that if the tech said the problem was the garbage disposal, then why did I spend money to have a new one installed only to have it back up again. Obviously, the tech wanted to make a few extra dollars on the side because his solution didn't work in the end. Last time I use Red Cap.

We had them out for a service call and gave the technician a check to pay for it.  Three months later, they tried to withdraw money from our account through a fraudulent ACH where they said they had the signature on file.  We realized this because the amount was different from the check (which they apparently lost).  No call apologizing or saying there was a mistake, can we issue a new check.  Fraudulent and untrustworthy.  Who knows how many others they've done this to.

I have been having a problem with my toilet getting clogged.  I kept plunging to get it to work and when that didn't work anymore decided to call Red Cap.  The serviceman who arrived (Nick S.) was very professional.  He told me what the possible problems could be and how he would fix it (as well as what he would do if that didn't work).  He also showed some scratches that a previous plumber put on the bottom of my bowl by snaking improperly and how his method avoids scratches.  He snaked a clump of paper towels out and the toilet started working much better.  He then gave helpful advice how to avoid the problem in the future by getting the roll of paper towels out of the bathroom and some other helpful advice.  The price was not terrible and the service was excellent.

Red Cap was the second company we called to replace the thermostat on our water heater.  I was VERY happy with the service. First of all, their consultation fee was less than HALF of what the previous company charged ( a big name company in the Tampa/Lutz area).  AND they waive it if they do the job for you.  The technician Gary explained more to me in the first 5 minutes than the previous tech did the entire hour he was at my house!  He had the job done in under an hour, for $120 less than I was quoted by the other company.  Very professional and knowledgable.  The person you make the appt with is very friendly as well.  All in all, a great experience.  I will definitely call them again if I have a problem.  Although....I hope I don't have to! :)

What happened to this company?  I went with this company a year later for my other AC unit. They came and installed the parts wrong resulting in the house not cooling a week later.  Technician comes out Saturday because it was hot in the house because the other units working overtime to cool the house over heated and filled the drip pan. Technician removes sensor and now today my ceiling in the garage is filled with water and leaking through. Of course no one can come out until tomorrow so now everyone in the house has to suffer several more days. Keep in mind this is the second unit I went to this company for and the technicians that have consistently screwed up my system could seem to careless. I don't get it. Over 10k spent with this company and they could careless it seems.

I hope I can get my house repaired and a professional to finish the horrible work done so far. I am awaiting Red Cap to take a proactive role in correcting this.

Called  Saturday at noon due to outside water line break....resulting in need to cut off water to our home. Told we'd be put on list, but might not have someone there until 7-8 p.m.  At 8:15 p.m. we called and were told they might come by midnight.  Sounds like they had only one truck out and it was in another county.  Needless to say, they weren't going to repair an outside line break at midnight.  Very disappointed.

My dear neighbors. Buyers Beware!!!! Red Cap will install your new air conditioning units incorrectly. They will charge you a fortune in labor to come out countless times to fix their mistakes. It will surprise everyone to know that labor is not covered even though parts are covered under warranty. I have spent a fortune having them come out to fix their issues with my unit and it still doesn't work correctly. They lie and deceive. They cannot be trusted. Save your money and take your business elsewhere. Lennox will not help either. They don't care that they have partnered with a company that does not care about their customer or throw mud on the Lennox name.

Red Cap plumbing is fantastic! We hired Red Cap Plumbing to install a new indirect water tank that serves 3 floors in the high rise that I manage. Dave and Hunter were the techs, dressed neatly and very polite! Not only did this job get done quickly, neatly and on time but the price was fabolous. We are commerical not for profit and require 3 bids for  any work to be done and Red Cap's pricing beat all the rest! This was our first expereince with Red Cap but it will not be our last. We also had another issue caused by another local commercial plumbing company not doing their job correctly, and Red Cap tech Chris was able to diagnose and make the repair and he even stayed around to make sure all was good and then took the time to talk with me, the customer using langauge and descriptions that I could understand! I have been in the property management business for 20 years and have used alot of plumbers, Red Cap far exceeds the rest!

I contacted them to replace 3 bathroom faucets in my house. I purchased new Moen faucets. Red Cap comes to my house and gives me an estimate, wouldn't give me a ballpark over the phone. The plumber looks at my 3 faucets I want to replace, my home is only 5 years old and I am just updating. The faucets I purchased were the same size and type I was replacing. No work to do except to take old ones out and put new ones in the exact same places. He comes back with 3 quotes from $1966 to a low of $1147 if i sign up for some $99 maintenance plan. I said the price was crazy and said no thanks. He then comes back in and offers a price of a little over $800. I declined because I think its a terrible way to do business.

They changed 2 of the water heater connectors and changed me $700. My tenant was the one that called them and just sent me the bill otherwise I wouldn't have used them with that quote. The worst part is that after charging the $700 they recommended that we change the tank and gave a quote for $2400, it would have been nice of them to recommend that and put on hold the changing of the conector. That would have save me some money but it is not part of their business model.

Very surprised that they let the tenant decide it is okay to do the work, my understanding was that work has to be approved by the owner of the property.

Spoke with the service manager, very nice person but the only solution was to give me $100 coupon for the next time I call red cap. I am still waiting for a call back from them to explain to me exactly what was done and the price breakdown. For a one hour of work and 2 connectors the price doesn't add up.

We use Red Cap at the Sr. living place that I work at. We contact them at all hours of the day and night and we hardly ever wait over an hour for them to show up. They are very clean and knowledgeable. I love it that they give us a price for the best way, fasted way, and cheapest way before they start. If it is a big problem John (owner) will show up and help his technicians. That is unheard of for a large company. I highly recommend Red Cap to everybody.

My elderly neighbor called me upset today..... She lives on a very low fixed budget...... Redcap was there. The tech told her she needed an entirely new air conditioning system. The tech told her he could not do anything for her. I asked to speak with him...... The tech advised he could not charge the system or do anything.  He stated that a salesman was on his way to her home.  I advised him she could not afford a new system and asked him to leave. He said he could not stop the salesman he was already on his way.  I once again asked him to leave and advised him she could not afford a new system and it was a total waste of his time because I would not allow it to happen. He finally saw it my way and left..... I called my air-conditioning company...... Action Air they removed a clogged drain and normal service. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN REDCAP

Expensive and didn't complete the work requested. I spoke with a rep on the phone who couldn't give a ballpark estimate of what it would cost to replace a gas valve and install a water shut off valve. A plumber came out and quoted my wife for the entire job and we agreed to the services. I came home and only the gas valve was installed. I called the following morning and was told that there was only one manager that could address the issue and he would get back to me by tomorrow. I have appliances being delivered and will have to refuse the order if they do not compete the work.  I would have never agreed to the price quoted for just replacing a gas valve.

I made the call first thing in the morning and got a same day appointment.  I was contacted three or four times throughout the day keeping us updated as to where the technician is and what time, he will be at our house.  When the technician arrived, he introduced himself as Sendo.  He was very professional and gave us three options to repair our plumbing situation.  He was done in about an hour and a half.  Cleaned up after himself.  Very happy with the service.

Avoid Red Cap Plumbing and A/C. It is a scam.
My story is: My A/C, 12 years old was working perfectly until I received a coupon from this company, advertising a Tune-Up for $ 49.
To have peace of mind for the summer I made an appointment for it. The technician came and told me he had to do several things to which I agreed. The cost was outrageous at $2800 but I did not contest it and paid. One week later the A/C was not cooling. I called them to request warranty service. The person who came said that additional parts for $1200 were required. I said no and requested to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor came and said that there was no warranty for anything and because my unit was old I should rather buy a new one from them. They advised the cost would be north of $10 -15,000. I said they were crazy and I demanded for them to repair the unit or return the $2800 and the supervisor promised to talk to the manager and call me back. No call did ever come.

I then called an independent repair company (that does not sell new units) and they repaired my unit. They told me most of what Red Cap had charged me was unnecessary and the only problem was that the unit did not have any Freon Gas. Red Cap had either 1) Not put any gas (they charged for it), or 2) Put it wrong, or 3) The unit was leaking which is a very easy repair.

My A/C has been working fine for the past three weeks and I was scammed by Red Cap. Avoid them at all costs. Their MO is to repair the unit, charge an outrageous amount for it, offer no warranty and then offer to put the amount you paid towards the sale of an overpriced and unnecessary new equipment.

Avoid them at all costs!

I had a cold water line break in the laundry room and water was going everywhere. After I tried to mitigate the mess as best I could, I remembered seeing an ad for Red Cap, that morning, while watching local news. So, I called them, frantic to get the flooding stopped. They were not able to get anyone out immediately, so I took the next slot available.
Vinny, with Red Cap, showed up and was awesome. Cut off the water supply, examined the situation and then explained, in detail, my options. After I selected what I wanted done, he got right to it. He was knowledgeable...explaining anything he was doing and answering any questions I had. Within 40 minutes, he had the repair done, water was back on, and was leaving.
I have never cold called any company before. I have always asked friends, relatives, etc. who they would refer. But, with water gushing/flooding the laundry room, there was no time for that. Thankfully, I saw the ad, remembered, and called Red Cap.
Thank you Vinny for making a really bad situation much easier to deal with. Your knowledge, expertise, and confidence sure helped the situation. I just can't thank you enough.

Had been putting off replacing four bathroom sink faucets for too long a time (after finding out that I was totally incapable of doing the work myself).  Called our plumber (Red Cap of course) and made an appointment.  Eddie L. arrived earlier than the appointed time which was a plus.  It was interesting watching Eddie work - he's very precise and takes pride in his work.  Great qualities in a plumber.  It took a while - I had purchased most of the major parts (sink kits, hoses) and because our house is 28 years old Eddie replaced the valves for the water lines as they would leak when turned out of the on position.  I had removed all of the stuff that was under the sinks (remarkable, isn't it) and Eddie left the area cleaner than when he got there.  It all looks beautiful and we can't thank Eddie and Red Cap enough.  Kudos guys!

On Tuesday night our hot water heater (HWH) started leaking and it was the night before our friends from Canada were arriving for a week-long visit.  I called a plumber we had used before but they were booked up and couldn't come out until Thursday.  I asked them for a recommendation since I couldn't wait and they recommended Red Cap.  They arrived that afternoon, on time, and gave me an estimate for replacement with a standard gas HWH and a tankless HWH.  Although it was more expensive (and I'm sure they would have made a lot more money on it) he recommended against the tankless model based on our usage, so I opted for the gas version.  He called his office and the new unit was delivered shortly afterafter.  Meanwhile the plumber drained and removed the old HWH and prepped the area for the new HWH.  He let me know in advance when he would need the water and gas turned off so we could work around him.  The new HWH arrived in a couple hours and he installed it, using all new fitting and lines, in a very neat and professional manner.  He explained everything to me regarding the warranty options, operation of the new HWH and thoroughly cleaned up the area.  I had looked on their website and found a coupon for money off, and he explained the energy saver rebate from TECO and deducted that from the bill.  I was given another discount as well.  Not only did Red Cap bail us out of a really inconvenient plumbing issue, but the plumber was extremely professional, pleasant and personable.  I will definitely call Red Cap the next time I have the need for a plumber.  Excellent job!

Home re-pipe & New Supply Line

Price: Fair (6000-7000)
Service: Excellent
Communication: Excellent

Job Scope: New water service line, re-plumb 2 full bath, kitchen island sink and dishwasher, water heater, water softener connections.  Future state of water heater location after switch to natural gas.

They were not the cheapest but weren't the most expensive either.  They were the most responsive, very quick to respond to questions or concerns through the entire job.

The installers went out of their way to make sure the job wasn't just done, but met my expectations. There were many adjustments to the job as we went along.  For example, water heater is in my garage but I was in the process of converting to natural gas tankless which would have been outside. They adjusted the location of the lines to allow for an easy switch when the time came.

Few jobs ever go as planned and this was no exception.  Was planned for 2 days but took 4.  There was a leak in a wall in the master bed/bath and a worker who stepped through the ceiling in the kitchen along with other smaller obstacles.  In a job like this such things are almost unavoidable.  I have to say that in each instance they took care of it and made it right.  They performed an emergency fix on the leak and sent a clean up company to dry everything out to insure no mold.  They sent a drywall repair person to fix the hole in the ceiling along with several other items.

In order to avoid breaking up the tile in my kitchen, the installer, Dago, created a water jet to tunnel under the tile preserving the look of the kitchen.

Paid over $6,000 for a plumbing repair last year. I called their accountant Michelle after the job to confirm we had a $0 balance. Less than a year later, same leak happens due to their poor installation. After speaking with Rachel and Kyle, they determined they would not cover the services listed on their warranty because of an overdue bill. We have signed copies of invoices paid but this company refuses to fix the leak due to their fake overdue bill.

Ludicrous pricing. I had someone come out and quote me $1,200 to replace a garbage disposal ($100 part) and replace the flapper and valve on my toilet (de minimus part cost). Both of the items could be replaced within an hour which the plumber admitted. What is worse is that I was charged the $29.95 diagnostic fee (disclosed up front, but obviously wasn't going to do any work at this rate). Stay far away from this place with its deceptive pricing practices that are trying to take advantage of people in a pinch.

I had been struggling with trying to replace a rusty bathtub drain for a couple of days. Decided to call a plumber for an estimate before I wrecked the tub with the Dremel. I gave some quick info, and they told me someone could be out that very same day! They gave me a time range and Ira Williams arrived promptly. He was friendly, informative, straightforward, and very professional! I am very into DIY and repair projects and learned a lot while he was here. I would definitely recommend this company for any plumbing jobs.

By and large I'm relatively pleased with Red Cap.  However, their excessive attempts to confirm arrival times and communicate changes to their schedules only serves to confuse and annoy. Additionally, I get the impression that their technician are a bit overworked.
I called to schedule both a water heater maintenance and a AC maintenance.  They scheduled me from 2-6pm on a Monday evening.  I got a call from their office mid-day saying the plumber would be late.  I then got an additional call a couple hours later saying they wouldn't make it all and would need to reschedule.  Fine, I'm then under the impression my evening has opened up.  I get an additional call at 3:30 to inform me the AC technician just finished his last job and would be headed my way next.  After a bit of back and forth it was explained to me that the water heater maintenance and the AC maintenance were actually two separate appointments with two separate technicians scheduled at the same time.  This is all fine, I just wished it were explained to me the first time around.  Additionally, I was a little annoyed that I then had to block off a separate chunk of time to deal with the plumber (I'll write a totally separate review for that work.), but still be available for the AC guy.  Two hours later (5:30pm) the AC guy still hadn't shown, but I then got a call from Adan saying he was on his way.  At 6:30pm he finally knocked on the door.  By this point I was particularly perturbed with the late arrival.  But, as I answered the door I could see in his face he'd had a long day and I refrained from voicing my annoyance.  He wasn't much for conversation, but he was polite and answered all of my questions.  Once the job was done he was a bit more conversational and indicated his previous job was in Largo. He was headed from there to my home in Seminole Heights at 5:30pm... explaining his late arrival.
Unfortunately, Adan failed to reconnect the pump on my AC unit correctly.  This had two consequences.  One, since the thermostat's power source was run through the pump, without it being connected properly at pump the thermostat failed to give a reading and just cranked the AC down until it automatically shut off altogether.  Two, it failed to pump the water out of the house.  After poking around a bit I was able to determine what the problem was and reconnect the power myself.  However, when the pump came back on it made and horrific and ear-piercing noise... enough to wake me in the night.  I called Red Cap. Adan came back out the following day.  He was apologetic about the power source and explained what was wrong with the pump.  He then proceeded to fixed it at no additional cost.  I did however, have to make myself available for an additional 3 hour block in order for Adan to come back out.  That made for  three nights in one week devoted to meeting with Red Cap technicians.
The only highlight saving this review from a one or two star rating is, that despite his weariness, Adan was polite, responsive, and explained to me everything he was doing.

I had red cap come out and give me an estimate own a dispose.  One side of the sink was stopped up. and a tub that was stopped up the gentleman gave me an estimate and said he would throw in the tub so I paid him $568 then he told me he couldn't get the drain in the bath tub clear , so he Would half to charge me another $268 for the bath tub if he would have told me that in the beginning I would have never had him do the job he said he had to snake and that was not free should toad me in the beginning. So I'm still left with a foot of water and my tub Have to call another plumber call them back I don't know if reviews matter but I'm just sharing my.

I had a Dan Stomoff come out for a quote & he seemed friendly and knowledgeable, but flaked out.

He never provided the promised quote & he never responded to attempts to reach him.
If this is typical Red Cap service, then I don't want to do business with Red Cap.

Forget y'all.   I will go with another company.

Saw an ad in newspaper and called them about changing my shower control knob. Had them do it.  Price was reasonable $1200.00. Other places wanted to replace my whole shower unit for $9300.00.  Works great now and my arthritic hands don't hurt adjusting knob. Thank you

This is a real review.  I had a simple small leak in a polyurethane pipe in my home.  A plumber comes out and mentions that I should have kept my home warranty.  Then he asks to come into my home and there was no reason to come into my home.  We had taken photos of the problem that was in the attic and it was simple.  He then come out of the attic and passes me by mumbling about having to give me a written estimate anyhow.  I waited patiently and the estimate was for $315.00.

The Plumber then tells me that its not worth it for a large company like his to come out for jobs like mine.  He says you need to call a small company that will charge per hour.

My take is that I explained this problem when I called into Red Hat.  I told Red Hat that I would not pay 200.00 for a repair.  This large company knew the problem yet they gave me the run around and also a very poor excuse for an outrageous repair cost of over $300.

I tell the Plumber who looked slightly ashamed of trying to take advantage of me good bye.

By the way if you do decide to get them to come out make sure you wave the $29.00 charge to come out.

My Solution to my problem:  My husband goes online finds the industry standard for a repair. He goes to Home Depot and buys a Shark product for under $10.00.  Fixes the problem in 10 minutes.

He has also done these types of repairs and they hold just fine.  No problems.

I called the manager and he tells me I'm not fair.  That's typical for these types of businesses.

customer beware!!!!
this company in tampa has been caught in bank fraud by using the checks that you paid to them and they intern change the way they cash it. they use the routing and banking numbers off the check and then input a different number instead of what you wrote on your check so if you wrote $400.00 they can input 7,000.00 and the bank will say that it's legal until you catch it and bring proof of the physical copy of your check that you wrote to them and include that you never gave them permission to do that. i have reported them to the fdic, federal trade commission, and my own bank which after several discussions finally realized that this company committed bank fraud. the federal trade commission will not tell us what they find out and what they have or will do but the fdic has also confirmed it was also bank fraud. it doesn't matter how much the amount they take is more than what you wrote, even if it's 2.00 it's still fraud.

Red Cap recently came out to my house to flush out the AC lines as part of an annual service agreement I signed with them.  My AC is 5 years old and I never had an issue with my AC.  Not even 3 months after they came out to service my AC shut off.  I called the company who originally replaced the AC for the service call.  Within a hour he was at my house and saw the lines were all backed up.  He was shocked when I told him I had a company out not even 3 months prior to service it.  He said they could not have done what they were supposed to by the way the AC & the lines looked.  I called Red Cap to speak to a manager or supervisor and after 10 days they have yet to return my call.  Very poor customer service.

If I could add stars on, I would.  My plumbing project is finishing up as I write this review - and I can't tell you how pleased I am with the service provided to me by Dave and Hunter and Curtis, and Mike who originally diagnosed my issues, plus a few of their other guys that I am sorry I don't know their names.

So we had a nothing less than a PLUMBING NIGHTMARE.  Bought a house, my toilets were backing up into my showers (on day 1).  Called two other plumbers before Red Cap - Red Cap was the first of the three to express AND PROVE that they wanted my business.  In addition, they were sensitive to my financial situation as I literally had not been in the house a month.  Red Cap located a problem under my slab (which the first plumber had also confirmed), and they provided me a quote to tear it up and replace it.  Then they also provided a quote to fix a separate bathroom issue and remodel a room into a laundry room for me.  The quote was reasonable, and the work was scary for a homeowner to watch.  The guys got to work promptly upon arrival (Dave and Hunter).

Long story short, as they excavated my slab, they found more issues (Orangeburg), all which they fixed with no additional charge.  They plumbed for a me a phenomenal laundry room with laundry sink exactly to my specs, all with a smile.  Then they went to jet my lines for a clean out and found problems outside my house.  They excavated parts of my yard, isolated the problem areas, and fixed them all with a smile (and for a very reasonable cost).  They added a clean out, moved some pipes we didn't even know we had to create hose bibs on the outside of my house, and they capped some other useless connections.

These guys WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND for me and my house.  They had a great work ethic, great sense of humor, and obviously they are masters of their trade.  I would not hesitate for even a moment to recommend Red Cap for plumbing issues.  So take note homeowners:

*Clogged toilets/backed up showers? - call Red Cap!
*Heard the term Orangeburg? - call Red Cap (right away)
*Need a new laundry room plumbed? - call Red Cap!
*Want a colon blow for your house pipes? - call Red Cap!
*Buying a house and want them to check the lines for you (wish we had done it!) - call Red Cap

Now I am only shedding tears of joy because my toilets finally work and I am not showering while standing in pee!  YAY!

I was charged $211.00 from the plumber to fix a thermocouple on a gas water heater today in the Tampa Area. The plumber was there for 45 minutes, and the part is inexpensive as I checked it online afterwards. On top of that the part is not warrantied.  I called and waiting to hear back from management as the agent said it was pretty odd to have been charged that amount.

It was early October 2020, my sister-in-law Pat asked my wife to hire someone to adjust her toilet for her. It was not leaking on the floor, it was simply running a little bit from time to time. Normally this is not something for which Pat would request help. My wife, who was visiting her at the time (from Dallas), explained this problem was not urgent and she would take care of it shortly. However, Pat insisted it should be fixed immediately because the thought of the toilet running was a great concern for her. My wife honored her request and called Red Cap Plumbing to come by to resolve the problem. She met the repair man at Pat's house during regular hours. The plumber spent 5-10 minutes making some minor adjustments. My wife felt the charge was excessive but she paid the bill. Pat felt better knowing this problem was fixed. This was on October 6, 2020.

So far, this is an uninteresting review. Here is the rest of the story...

Pat lived in Tampa. My wife and I live in Dallas. My wife drove to Tampa in late September 2020 to attend to Pat who was terminally ill and hospitalized in an ICU. This is why my wife did whatever her sister requested, even though she knew Pat would never return home.

The charge for the work was $256.00. It was paid.

Pat did not return home and passed on November 23, 2020. (RIP)

It is now September 2021, my wife and I just returned home after spending months in Tampa dealing with probate and estate matters. It is only now that I have given any thought to writing this review.

I suggest you evaluate your plumbing options. I have found several very good plumbers in the Tampa area. I do not recommend Red Cap Plumbing.
