I had Pro-Tech HVAC once again come in to work on my Trane AC in my condo apartment in 2022.  I tried to delay paying them for my annual maintenance, but my float valve kept shutting off the AC, so on August 2nd, 2022, I called them, and they showed up early on August 4th, 2022.  They were amazing, as always.  Their tech (I forgot his name - Jay something) was great, and cleared the lines, and checked the compressor on my roof.
Many people say oh - Pro-Tech - they are so expensive - I really don't care. I am not rich, but I know that when you hire QUALITY PEOPLE instead of loser discount people - you get what you pay for.  And Pro-Tech is ALL quality. They are amazing.  I am freezing right now, because of ProTech in the middle of 95 degree weather in Florida.  They NEVER make mistakes. They are great, and they are worth every penny.  For the morons that say I could have paid 50 dollars less - then you get 50 dollars less, and your HVAC breaks in a few months, and then you pay all over again (or write a bad review about that company).  You hire the best - and you get the best - and Pro-Tech is the best

Once again ProTech hits all of the marks. Just had technician Alexis out for a maintenance trip. He showed up on time, was friendly and considerate, was knowledgeable and observant, and went straight to work. ProTech knows how to hire great technicians!

Pro-Tech has caused a lot of problems for me over the past 10 days. First, I had a tech come to my apartment and tell me that my problems were with OUC and he didn't even attempt to troubleshoot. Then, when OUC came and went above and beyond and it was discovered that Pro Tech completely missed the issue, I called their office. They apologized and THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE told me they would come back and fix it for free. Yesterday when the tech arrived 40 minutes after 12-3 window I was given, he was arrogant and rude. But after we got past that, he tried to charge me. I called the office and I was transferred to the President who insulted me and went back on the free service I was guaranteed. He also told me that the solution they were going to charge me for had a 50/50 chance of working. Do yourself a favor and use ANYONE ELSE. This company is a complete joke. I wish I could give a 0 star rating, that's how bad they have screwed this up.

I called Pro-tech last Tuesday from a referral from a Neighbor that had an ac system replaced by them & was extremely pleased. I had 4 other quotes before them. We made the appointment the same day & Jason Hoag arrived on time. He did the inspection & gave me his quotes & explained the process. I liked what he had to say & we agreed on a price. Made the appt to have it installed 4 days later on Saturday which is today. The installers arrived a few minutes early, which is better than late. Took them all day to get the ac system installed. Which is what I was told originally. By the way it's a Trane ac system. I am extremely pleased with the system so far. I would recommend them to anyone who needs any ac/heating work done. I went off to work most of the day, but when I came back my neighbor was watching them. He was impressed with them also, telling me good things that they did that his ac company didn't do when he had his system replaced last year, not the same neighbor who referred me to Pro-tech. At the end of the job talked to very nice girl in the office to take care of the bill.

Please note - I only received a quote from this company. I did not have them perform any kind of service on my HVAC unit.

My husband and I were unfortunately faced with having to replace our whole HVAC unit. Pro-Tech is one of the companies we called for a quote. Right away the receptionist told me that they'd be more expensive than their competitors, and I should be aware of that before the person came out to give us a quote.

The guy who came out was very professional and very friendly. He educated us a lot about what we needed, permits, breaker and the quality of various brands like Trane, Carrier and Brother.

We did not choose Pro-Tech because it was almost $2,000 more expensive than the company we actually went with. They charge more because they explore the homeowner's attic for problems, come out a month after the installation for a courtesy check, and twice after that to make sure everything is still working properly. They're big on customer service, but I don't think that their customer service + a few courtesy service calls are worth the extra $2,000 price tag.

This is a first rate, well run company. They carry Trane AC equipment, (and others), which I have found to be of superior quality over the years.
A helpful person is always ready to field your call and get you the service you need. Their technicians are professional, respectful, and leave the job with all the loose ends tied up. I've used them for a decade and have never been disappointed.

Reached out to this company to work on a warranty repair for a Trane AC unit. They provided a quote that seem astronomical to replace a coil and a couple other components that were directly affected by a gas leak within the coil. I reached out to three different other companies in the quote that they provided was half the amount of dollars for labor. Essentially this company was charging me somewhere between $400 and $500 an hour! They quoted me $2300 for a four to five hour repair job. I contacted them and I told them that I felt that this was price gouging and I certainly did not choose them to do this job. SHOP AROUND! Don't do business with this company.

This company is a great find! The air conditioner went out on a Saturday evening and started blowing hot air. We called Pro-Tech's local number and to our pleasant surprise a REAL field technician answered our after-hours/weekend call. Reggie came straight out to analyze our problem. He outlined options to repair and replace. He gave us a range of choices on pricing for different levels of efficiency. Pricing was competitive.  No pressure -just good, actionable information for making a sound decision.

Monday morning they pulled a permit at the City of Winter Park and installed a high-efficiency Trane air conditioner with electronic thermostat.  It will greatly improve our power bill and comes with an excellent warranty.  

Our old unit was over 15 years old / rickety / inefficient / loud / literally falling apart.  The new unit is an absolute dream! Quiet. Cool. Set the temp and let it do the rest.

The installation crew put protective footies on when they came inside the house and were very nice & knowledgeable. These are people you can TALK to -people who appreciate your business and are happy doing the work they do. The crew carefully removed the old equipment and thoroughly cleaned everything. When they left, the installation was clean, neat and the whole work area was spotless!

This is a quality company with great employees. It was a joy from start to finish working with them.  They are competitively priced and provide outstanding customer service. I am certain you will be as favorably impressed with Pro-Tech as we are. Look no further! Pro-Tech gets our 5 enthusiastic stars -well done!

My mother called a technician and they came out to check out her AC. The service call was $100. He found nothing wrong. The AC stopped working again, she called again. This time the tech found a problem and said the cost would be $700 and it would take 5 days to get a part. My mother is 92, 5 days in the Florida heat is not good for a 92 year old. I called Pro Tech myself and asked them to give a quote for a new system since my mother's system is old and miss-matched. They gave a quote for $5900 - my mothers place is very small, that price seemed WAY out of line for the size of the unit. I told the technician that I would get another quote and let them know. I got another quote and it was HALF what Pro tech quoted. Seriously - half. Not even close. I can only conclude that Pro-tech saw what they thought was a defenseless old woman and looked to take advantage of her. I will never ever let my mother call them again - and I advise anyone considering them to at least get a second quote as I did. I am SO glad I did.

In 2005 i had a new A/C installed, in 2015 it quite working, I called Pro-Tech and the Tech came out, and after examining the A/C determined it was the dual capacitor. He installed a new one. The total bill was $634.44 including a Warranty for $145.21 which has no length of time. Since i have Asthma from Allergies i was desperate. It was paid in Full. Going forward to Aug 8, 2017 the A/C quite working again. They could not get to me until Tues. The Tech came out and examined the A/C until and said it was the dual capacitor one half controls the fan. Even though i paid for a warranty i am not sure what it was for? It was $ 200.00 For a Capacitor from AmRad.  Which has a FIVE YEAR WARRANTY,. meaning Pro-tech charged me $200.00 took my Capacitor and AmRad exchanges it for a new one from Pro-Tech. I know i called AmRad, it is a Florida Company in the Palm Coast. Part of this is my fault for not checking further into this Company, and also not questioning the Warranty that i paid for. I used them the second time, because i was sure it was the Capacitor and figured it was under warranty since it was less then two years. Pro-tech got $ 834.44 from me on a capacitor that cost maybe $25.00 , and charging me for a warranty that is useless. I wrote to Tom Nixon President but have not heard back. I am trying to help others like these other reviews to make sure no one falls prey to Pro-Tech.

Everything was good until they sold me a thermostat for 352.00 that is worth maybe 150.00, they didn't showed me if the previous one  was not working, they just installed and gave me the bill.   The technician should show us what was wrong with the previous thermostat and ask us if we were interested on 352.00 dollar thermostat.

Definitely not calling them again!

I recently hired PRO-TECH Air-conditioning and Plumbing to install new air conditioners for my home. I would like you all to know that I held this review until FULL payment was made to PRO-TECH for services rendered. Today (2/25/2016) I paid $19,710.00 (paid in full) to PRO-TECH. I had TRANE XV20i (two of them) installed in my home. I need you to know that I choose them over other competitors in the area. I wanted the TRANE AC unit and not some of the other brands that are available.

As my 4 year son was diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments, air filtration was an extreme priority to my family. The PRO-TECH sales person came to my home and quoted me on the TRANE VX20i unit with the 5 Pro Media Filter and a UV lights. I signed the contract with PRO-TECH and we scheduled the install.
The installers arrived on-time and began the first of the two units. For comfort of my family one unit was scheduled per day. The first problem, The Perfect Fit Electronic Air Filter (TRANE) was too big for my closet where the air handler is located. But that's OK because PRO-TECH had a solution, they would install 4 aftermarket filters in a different location. This is not what I ordered nor was it not the problem of my family when the sales person came to my home and measured. I was told by PRO-TECH (Hector) that it's OK, don't worry.

The install went great under my watchful eye on day one. The installers were wonderful and professional. On day two they installed the second unit. This install also went well and the job was finished in record time. I will admit, I was not available to witness the second install as I was dealing with my son.

The real problems began, one of the new thermostats that were supplied was not working. I called TRANE and NEXIA to resolve the problem. The manufactures of the device said it was broken.  PRO-TECH agreed to replace the thermostat and had ordered another one from TRANE. Hector and Mike arrived at my home to replace the thermostat. As we were troubleshooting the problem, Hector decided to try to pull a fast one and replace the upstairs (working unit) with the downstairs thermostat that was already deemed inoperative by TRANE and NEXIA. The only reason that I knew of the switch, when I questioned Mike, was because of the screen was different (older version). When I questioned Mike, he directed me to Hector as this was HIS marching orders. I did question Hector and he then reluctantly under my watchful eye replaced the upstairs unit with the new one that they had ordered from TRANE.  Great all units working right? WRONG...

1 week later, during the Orlando cold snap, the upstairs unit was not heating my home and it was cold. I called PRO-TECH immediately. They sent out a repair man that deemed that the thermostat was inoperative and replaced my digital one with a manual one to get us heat for the night. That didn't work. It didn't work because there was ZERO Freon in the system. The TRANE VX20i will tell you what's wrong, and the tech just ignored the system, he knew better.  There was a leak. But the lines were pressure tested right? I PAID for the lines to be re-run. $300.00
PRO-TECH sent out a repair man to determine what/where was the leak. They pulled out the condenser coil from the air handler and it was so damaged that I took pictures and called PRO-TECH again. PRO-TECH sent out a supervisor (Mike Again) to view (I have pictures). The coil was so damaged that they have to use a striating comb to fix the coils. Bear in mind that this is a NEW unit. This didn't fix, nor repair the leak.

PRO-TECH came back to my house, again, this time my son was admitted in the hospital for chemotherapy, so I couldn't be with him, to replace the lines. The line replacement went well as the same installers came to my home. This again remind you was MY problem, not theirs.

OK, now AC unites are working. But the features of the system are not. Is it PRO-TECH, NO. Now its Brighthouse cable fault that the wireless features are not working. I discussed all of this with Hector (Supervisor). His recommendation was to replace my wireless internet router with a one that does not have security features that Brighthouse provides. I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a router that would only be used for my AC units and disabled all of the firewall settings (additional $89.00 cost, again, my fault). Guess What? The units/features now are working. 22 days after initial install.

OK, I have to pay the bill right? I called PRO-TECH and discussed my bill. $20,000.00 was my original bill. They didn't put the quoted filters in, Deduction- $145.00 (x2). Complete rip-off as the filter unit that was installed can be purchased in Home Depot for $99.00. It's a grate with a filter slot. But OK, screw me I want to be done right?. Nope. Now the 2 year Comfort Club membership that was quoted to me by PRO-TECH is 1 year. and NO FILTERS ARE INCLUDED

We've had a very poor experience with this company. They caused more damage making a repair than previously existed. While their services are advertised as 24/7, Managers do not work these hours and are not properly accessible to their technicians. Don't waste your time or money with Pro-Tech.

Called to get information on a warranty replacement. They said they don't do warranty replacements even though they are on the Rheem companies preferred vendor list.

A few hours later I got a call saying they are on the way to replace my water heater. I reminded them they said they don't do warranty replacements. They said there was a mix up but I have to pay over $1,100 JUST in labor. I told them they are embarrassingly overpriced as I got the water heater with labor from another vendor for $900. I told them to delete my contact info as I'm not and never will be a client. Another hour later, got a text saying the tech is on the way.

Do not waste your money or time.

The best service I have ever had. From the first moment they were the most professional, best organized and did an amazing job. and the pricing was fair. It would be so great if more companies would be as professional and reliable.
I had several companies out at the property to give me an estimate, everybody was talking about the difficult job and so on. But nobody else made me feel that they could honestly handle the job and knew exactly what they were doing.
I can't praise Pro-tech enough, simply one of the very best.

When I came home from being out of town for 5 days and found my ac broke. I immediately called the ac company I used to use! They literally ignored my calls and texts. I immediately went to the white pages and found Pro-Tech. MY house was already at 85 degrees and it was Aug so I really was FRANTIC to try to get someone out to ck it. Lynn was so kind and understanding and helped calm me down. After that everyone I interacted with was absolutely amazing! From John coming out to ck my system to Mark & Marcos who replaced it! Their entire team, company and owners are amazing! I will be referring them out forever! Thanks Pro-Tech!

Plumber was knowledgeable and fixed the problem quickly. I needed a new temp valve on my shower as it was causing perpetual leaking from the shower head. The valve was stuck in the pipe and required special tools to get it out and I didn't want to risk breaking a pipe pulling on it. He also fixed the hot and cold direction on the knob as it was improperly installed by the previous owner of our home. I'm not sure why I'm reading from other reviewers that it was $100 for them just to come out. Maybe it was a farther drive? They only charged me $70 and the whole job cost $179 including the $70 charge. Will definitely call them again for any further issues and I highly recommend their services.

This week We used Pro-Tech for a plumbing job and an AC job. We had them repipe our house, replacing all the polybutylene pipes. The four Pro-Tech plumbers completed the entire house in only one day!! They then sent a man to repair all the dry wall holes, and he did a fantastic job. Today one of the plumbers came back and had to disconnect the water heater and move it in order to patch the hole behind it. We are very happy with the whole process.

The AC problem was a clogged drain line. It was quickly unclogged by the technician.

We have been using Pro-Tech for more than 15 years at two residences, and we will continue to.

This has been miserable. We bought over a year ago. Total nightmare, we paid $20,000 for this piece of crap.  Nothing runs like a Trane. I'm being completely honest. I have been nothing but suckered on this BS.  I'm ripping the damn system out, defaulting on my loan and screw these a-holes. My wife is home alone and has medical issues. She can't take this. I also have two Siberian Huskies they can't survive like this. I've paid way too much for nothing but bullshit. Don't do pro-tech and don't do Trane. What an f'ing nightmare. Kiss my a$$ pro-tech. You haven't supported at all and only wasted my time and money. I'll be getting help and replacing this piece of crap.

Pro-Tech had some credibility to build up with me after years with Tim Benjamin.  They have come thru every time with flying colors.  When it comes to some things it is not about price it is about service.  Pro-Tech and the techs that have come to my house do give fantastic service.  Shop price all you want, when it's 90+ outside I want my A/C is work.  I cannot say enough positive things about this business from top to bottom.

I have used Pro-Tech a few times in the past and everyone has always been very professional and knowledgeable.  Recently there was an issue with a part that was installed by them about 16 months ago (making it four months out of warranty).  

I wasn't happy with the part longevity and felt like some sort of consideration should be given.  I shared this with the folks back at the main location via email and a letter.  There was a lag in communication time, possibly because of the holidays.

But once my inquiry got to the right person my issue was fully resolved in a very fair and equitable manner.  The true test of a business is how they respond when something does not go right - which Pro-Tech has passed with flying colors.  

I will continue to use Pro-Tech.

I am a member of the comfort club for regular maintenance of my AC unit.  Generally the techs do great work and today's preventative visit was no exception that itself was 5 stars. However, I did have an issue previously when I discovered that the company installed the wrong size part with the original install of the system and I was charged for it as a repair later on but it was made to seem the part had simply failed which I think is shady.

ProTech was recommended by a friend who saw that we had lost our AC the day before July4th.  I was thankful for any help, and the tech seemed inexperienced but courteous and was able to rig it to work for 2 days.  We woke up on a Sunday to find that it was again not working and when we called we were told that if it was the same problem that there would be no charge.  Well it was the same problem, and this time there was a very rude tech who ultimately could not fix the problem but told me to call an electrician but the company has decided to charge me anyway.  I will not call this company again!!!

Our A/C stopped working today (Sunday). After scheduling an emergency service, the tech arrived within an hour. Ogi was very friendly and knowledgeable. Within minutes, he diagnosed the problem. He gave us an estimate and completed the work in about an hour.

I had a leak in the wall I pulled all the wall apart and Exposed 2 cooper pipes with the pipes exposed he walked in said it would be $800.00 to cap 2 pipes. this 2 min look see cost $85.00. Knowing he had just come from another in lake Mary. I did not fall for this. They must be in the quote business

We bought a house that had recently had a new air conditioning unit replace by Pro-Tech.  When we called them to come out to take a look at the horrible noise that the unit was making and the vibration that it made throughout our house, they said it was because the unit was cheap.  They said they no longer sell that unit (wonder why!!!).  They said we would need a new unit to solve the problem.  We have since hired an
AC company that was recommended by a friend to move the unit and install return air vents, which was never suggested by Pro-Tech.  They said Pro-Tech did a horrible job installing the unit and that is why we were having so many issues.  Do yourself a favor, if you are looking for an AC company do not hire this one!!!

We are enrolled in Protech's comfort Club where they come out to do yearly maintenance (ie.cleaning outside unit, checking inside unit and changing of filter. They are very professional and courteous. And do a great job maintaining our AC. We have no problems or issues with our AC and would recommend Pro-tech services.

Of all the AC repair companies I have used for the past 30 years Pro-Tech AC is far and away the best repair and service company we have ever used.   Pro-Tech's friendly Technicians were right on time for my appointment and went above and beyond explaining ever aspect of my AC issues and took the time to answer all of my questions. They were very fair and clear on the price of my all my  repairs.   I have already recommended Pro-Tech to friends, family and neighbors.

Pro-Tech is your (IMO) run of the mill HVAC company. They did a service call for me last year ( the show on wdbo sold me) and the tech talked me in to joining their comfort club. The comfort club gives you 2 maintenance calls per year. One for A/C and the other for Heat in the winter.

Well I got my first in July for A/C and my next one in June the following year and I had to email them to get it. (so much for the heat check up) The young lady was very courteous and made the appointment. She then proceeded to tell me that they had called in Dec. and left a message and again in MARCH and another message. WOW! Really! So, I guess it was MY fault.

The only thing is, If I hadn't paid up front for the service, I'm sure she would have been more persistent...assuming as, sometimes happens, we don't always get our messages. I will say, when the tech showed up for the appt. he did a good job and was very apologetic for the scheduling dept. Needless to say, since they don't really care if my unit stays in tip top shape like they make me believe, I will no longer be a part of their comfort club

A neighbor recommended Pro-Tech when I came to Florida about 2 years ago, because one of their techs was a member of his church.  Not the best reason, but one of the heat pumps wasn't working when we moved in, so we called Pro-Tech.  The guy who came out couldn't have been nicer, found a loose wire, and didn't even charge us.  

Since then, we've had two other minor issues, for which we were charged over $350 each.  Seemed steep, but I still relied on the honesty of that first technician.

Then we had a system that failed.  Again, the technician who came to the house was great - but what I discovered was dirt back at the home office.

To begin with, I knew that this would be a substantial repair, so I *finally* checked some reviews on line and found a common theme: ridiculously high prices.  As this played out, I confirmed that Pro-Tech charges nearly double what anyone else does for everything.  

But that wasn't the worst.  In my case, the compressor failed.  Pro-Tech told me there was no replacement compressor available.  That was a lie.  They also said that IF they could find one, it would cost more than $1000.  That was another lie.  I simply called the manufacturer myself, and found the exact replacement in stock and available for less than $400.  

OK.. another option might have been to replace just the outside unit, which looked to be in perfect shape except for the compressor.  Even the technician suggested that as a possibility.  But Pro-Tech that is illegal and can't be done.  That was the third lie.  It merely requires an engineering report confirming that the new outside unit will match the inside unit.  A piece of paper with technical specifications showing it pretty much matches the old unit.

It was obvious that Pro-Tech only wanted to sell a new system.  Indeed, I waited for their repair estimate and never got a call.  So I called them again and suggested I was also interested in pricing a new system AND THEY WERE AT MY HOME IN LESS THAN TWO HOURS.

The salesman who came to my door spewed a lot nonsense that was supposed to prove to me that I needed a new system - not knowing that I'm an engineering physicist who knows a lot more about thermodynamics than he does.  He is also the one who told me the lies, not knowing that I had already called the manufacturer and knew that (1) I could get a compressor, and (2) I could get a new outside unit.

So what was their price on a new system?   About double what anyone else wanted - I had already gotten bids while waiting for their first return call, and before I called them the second time and they came running.

I told them that their lies made sure I would never call them again, and neither should anyone else.  It is not uncommon for HVAC companies to fleece unknowledgeable  homeowners, and Pro-Tech does a good job of it.

A/C compressor went out Monday night at about 8:30pm.  I called Pro Tech and they came out around 12pm the next day.  They troubleshoot it and discovered it was a capacitor part.  We were cooling down the house within hours.  Thank goodness it was not the compressor.

At Pro check doing maintenance center AC unit and furnace for more than six to eight years I believe and we have had never had a problem or an issue today and when we did have minor issues they were here the same day

Lorenzo Sales Manager claimed to be the owner of Protech.  The rudest person I have ever spoken to.  He does not know how to treat women, was derogatory towards me. Acts like a know it all and doesn't care if he loses business, he could have made between $6,500 on the unit I was looking for and he said...I don't care, I'm the owner.  Good Lorenzo!

Horrible company. Came out to my Orlando/Oviedo house 3 times. First time, a little pricey, second time very pricey and this last time, absolutely ridiculous. $850 estimate for a MAXIMUM 4 hour job, AND they were to replace what they had replaced just 5 months prior !!!!! DO NOT waist your time with this company.
