My experience today with Olin Plumbing was excellent.  I called on Monday night and the plumber was out the next morning to fix my clogged commode.  David was courteous, well informed about how to get the problem solved and I was happy with his work.  He even stayed long enough to make sure the obstruction was not just compromised, but made sure it was completely free of the main line as well.

DO NOT use this company unless you don't care about overpaying for a routine job.   I had then come out to replace 2 shut off valves under the sink and also a simple drain line to the toilet.   The valves cost $12 apiece and the line was $10 at Home Depot.   Total time on the job was 20-25 minutes.  They  proceeded to charge me $245 for the first valve replacement then a discounted price of $125 for the second.  I explained to the manager, Jennifer, that it was the same job and both valves were exactly the same.  Was informed they were 2 different jobs and also that I was getting a deal with the discounted price for the second job.  I then asked her to contact the owner,  quite possibly her dad, to discuss further but the verdict was all prices are final and nonnegotiable.   Paid almost $400 for lest than a half hours worth of work and $34 in parts.  I should have known I was geting ripped off when they charged me $50 for the $10 line.  I doubt I will ever use  Olin again.  Family base, locally owned companies don't take advantage of their local support.

We just had a flooding emergency in the office due to an old water heater. Your man, Mark, showed up and took care of business. When it  it was too clogged to drain, he dragged it out and up steps like an animal! Saved the day!!!!

RUN AWAY!!!!!! Extremely disappointed in their service. To the point, do not trust their guarantee. If their work fails, as it did in our case, they will NOT honor their service guarantee unless it is Monday through Friday, 8-5. If your plumbing emergency happens when MOST plumbing emergencies happen- you know, like when you're actually home in the morning, evening, or weekend using the plumbing- you get to pay full price for them to come fix their mistake. Not exactly helpful when water is pouring from under your toilet, destroying your hardwood and walls. Thanks for leaving us high and dry, Olin Plumbing!

I recently received a wonderful letter from the City of Tampa.  It was a harshly worded letter advising me that I had 14 days to have a backflow test performed and the results sent to them, or they'd begin fining me.  I received the letter Saturday preceding Thanksgiving.  Really?!  I've got 14 days to test something I've never heard of, with the clock running as of Thanksgiving week, and I'll get fined if I don't comply.

Anyway, a backflow device is something inserted into the water line on the customer (resident) side of a water meter to prevent water from flowing back into the system after it has gone through the meter.  In my case, my lawn hose spigots and irrigation system are all isolated from the rest of the home via a backflow prevention valve.  Unbeknownst to me, the City of Tampa requires you to have your backflow devices tested once per year.  Of course no one does that, since no one I know had ever received this order either.

In any case, ten years after buying my home, I received the letter to show proof of compliance with the annual testing.  The letter included a list of 40 or so companies who can perform the test.  Olin Plumbing was on the list, I visited their website, and unlike most plumbing companies, I could even order the testing via their site, for a flat rate of $25 if no repairs are needed.  Their site advises that they donate any profits above the cost of the test to All Childrens Hospital in St Pete.  I placed my order on a Sunday evening.  Monday morning I had an email reply asking for me to scan and email a copy of the City's demand letter, which I did.  They performed the test Wednesday, day before Thanksgiving, submitted the results to the City, and sent me a bill.

So, hard to complain about that; easy ordering of the service, surprisingly rapid delivery of the service, they did all the work, I paid my $25 and got the City of Tampa off my back.

We had a leaking pipe. All we wanted was a simple repair. The  plumber replaced all of the pipes. He removed the flexible pipes. Now if I need to replace the water heater I will have to pay to have to the pipes replaced. I asked Olin if they would replace the water heater for free if it goes bad. He refused. I do not recommend this plumber.

Terrible experience. I was given a quote to install a whole house water filter system, water softener, and under the counter RO system. I was rescheduled for service twice. When the plumber came to my house he was disrespectful. Telling me that I brought cheap equipment and he could have got me a better deal. He was upset because he had someone else's truck. Told me that the softener tank was defective. We called the company that made it and they told him what he needed to do. Said he needed to keep checking his phone because he's planning a honeymoon. It was easy to see he didn't want to be there or do the job. After complaining about the work he had to do, he went back to his truck and gave me a revised quote that was 3 times more than the original. I politely told him to leave. I called Olin and the first thing they asked me was if I thought the revised quote was fair. Unreal.

I have used Olin Plumbing services in the past (2015, 2017, & 2022). Their service was and still is great. Their prices were great.

Today, Israel replaced a PVC toilet flange. He did a great job, informed me of what he was doing and cleaned up after the job was completed. I give Israel 5 stars.

The toilet was already pulled and I reinstalled it after Israel left. So the work was simply to cut out the cracked toilet flange and glue in a new flange. Material cost is $35, at the most, from big box stores. The job took about 30 minutes. The charge was $410. That works out to about $750 per hour! I know plumbers are expensive, but this charge is unreasonable. I trusted Olin Plumbing and did not get other bids. My mistake and one that I won't make the next time I need a plumber. I will still call Olin, but I will get other quotes before selecting a plumber.

Service = 5 stars
Price = 1 star
Average = 3 stars

Service was very unprofessional and over priced.  I felt like the guy doing the work hated his job or just didn't care. I called because my main sewage drain was backing up periodically on the house built in 98.  The plumber came and we inundated the system to cause the backup that was frequently plaguing us.  He asked if I had a main relief valve out front. Since I'm not a plumber I said I don't know and then he informed me that in order for him to LOOK for a relief valve in my yard he would have to charge me $175.  If he was unable to find one he would still charge me and then he would have to pull the toilet and go in that way AND pulling the toilet was an additional charge. After a interesting conversation I told him to go in through the toilet. I let him do his thing with the machine and he informs me that he thinks he got it.  I asked if it would be visible he said no the machine didn't pull anything back so it must have been pushed through to the main sewer line in the street.  All of this was done with him interacting with me by calling me bud. I have a name and if you don't know it don't make up a random nickname. Oh yeah and the invoice I received had a previous customers information on it.  It comes with a 1 year warranty even if the problem comes back I'll call a different plumber.  All in all it cost me $400. Only positive thing was that the receptionist was nice and they came out within 2 hours of me calling them  that's why I gave 2 stars!!!

The gas water heater that Olin Plumbing installed for us in January stopped working after 11 months.  Olin Plumbing came out within a few hours of us calling them and re-lit the pilot light.  The pilot light then went out again a few hours later.  Since we knew what the issue was, we lit the pilot light a few more times, only to have it go out within ten minutes each time. Called Olin again in the morning and they sent a plumber (Richard) out immediately.  Richard let us know they had researched the heater and that the burner was defective. Olin Plumbing replaced it for us at no charge as it was still under the 1-year warranty. We appreciated the quick response and the friendly service.

Had the pleasure of speaking with Jennifer who was able to get us in for a next day appointment, that in itself was a miracle in the plumbing business. The Plumber arrived within the scheduled time and gave a fair honest quote and completed the job efficiently and in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend and will use Olin Plumbing again in the future.

Saw David R's review of Olin Plumbing and we were faced with the same issue - a backflow preventer test which needed to be completed within 14 days.

I did check several other plumbers that offer the same service and was quoted prices ranging from $49 to $180 just for the test!

I saw the reviews of Olin on Yelp as well as AngiesList and they charged only $25, What was also commendable was that they were responsive and very professional. They came out the very next day and performed the test and after I made the payment, they informed the city that we had passed the test! Given this experience, I have no hesitation in recommending Olin. Their service on this particular aspect was exceptional and I assume that this extends to other services.

So disappointed in this company! I would advise you to avoid them at all costs.  I had to call another plumbing company to repair the damage done by their employee and still had to pay the inflated price they charged me.

Well the charged me twice, said they refunded me, they didn't, she's says it's all good on our end and she'll look into it in the morning. Also that I should call if it's not fixed tomorrow, yeah don't worry I'll keep trying to get my money back don't worry, I won't forget! So we'll see how this plays out, won't use them again

I'll try to make this a brief as possible.  I am out of nearly $1,000. and they deny that they had anything to do with an aftermath of leaks which followed a declogging event in the bathroom. The guy tore a chunk of wall behind the vanity sink and left a really nasty mess for me to clean. They alleged they fired him. Had another guy come out to inspect what the former employee had done..etc had him look at new leak in garage where washer is (i had tried to fix it myself & apparently did a good job because it stopped leaking just as he went to check it out). When he left, I found that I could not find my plumbing tape spool  which i left on the washer....gave him the benefit of the doubt still cannot find it. Anyway, more issues developed and they sent yet another guy out. I found more leaks in the bathroom which never had occurred before. Now leaking behind that same wall.Had the spout replaced & was lead to believe this would resolve the leaking issue and was charged $195. It continued to leak as this plumber was leaving & immediately told him. His reply was border line nasty & said he stopped the leak from behind wall & not there to repair any add'l leaks.   He had already left when I discovered that my new spout I purchased from Lowes was missing. They sent another plumber, Mike, who was the nicest of them all. He said All leaks were unrelated & that I needed a repair where the single handle on tub is for $285. Brought me a spout and I quickly pointed out it was not the one the other guy took without my permission. He had placed an inferior one instead in my tub. Long story short. They mailed me a check for it which was not signed so I had to drive all the way to Ybor City in a very nasty neighborhood (I am a petite woman) and have them sign it. Went and cashed it and hope it is good. The teller could not tell me for certain as they (olin) use a different bank. Never will I use these people again! What
good is a warranty when you get this kind of service. Called a competitor who was prompt, clean and efficient. Spent  another $300. to fix it.SHAME ON ALL OF YOU FOR TAKING ADVANTAGE OF 2 OLD WOMEN!

John and Bob showed up promptly with terrific attitudes to fix our leaking toilet .
We also had some other work for them to do which was outdoors replacing two hose Spicket's that they probably cut re-welded soldered and repaired. They also explain to us that the spotting or leaking that we had noticed was part of the fail safe of the actual hose so consumer education is always important. Priced relatively fairly this company has been in business since 1983 so they've been around a lot of plumbing situation's they will be on our list for the future good service fair pricing shows a promptly good employee attitude.

DO NOT call Olin plumbing if you are having plumbing issues, they are by far the worst. Fist off, as someone mentioned below, after they come out and break everything, they only guarantee their work Monday - Friday, so when they come out on Friday and it breaks the next day, we'll you are screwed.

We called Olin Plumbing for a running toilet. no big deal, right? Well we had someone come out and he said we needed a new part and charged us almost $300. The next day the toilet completely stopped working. We never had a problem with the toilet not working prior, it was just running. Now, it stopped working completely. In addition, we had them come back out and once again, it stopped working after a day. This time when they came out they said I needed a completely new toilet and it would be $550 dollars. He said, this toilet is shot. If the toilet was shot, why didn't the guy prior recommend replacing the toilet? Olin plumbing tried to say that it's the first step in fixing a problem, so Olin, you are willing to spend $300 to fix someone that the last guy said was 50/50 to work on a toilet I could be completely new for $400???? RIP OFF

The last guy that came out to fix the toilet attempted to charge me. When I told him no way, he hung up on me and threw our employees phone on me he desk and left the salon. Oh yeah, that was after he threatened to rip everything out. I now have water gushing out from the bottom of my toilet when it flushes and it's completely unusable. THANKS OLIN, you managed to take a running toilet and make it unusable.

Very friendly and responsive plumbers who arrived at my home on time but produced terrible quality work that I ultimately ended up redoing myself.

I asked for them to replace my exposed hot/cold water faucets as well as washer drain pipe and replace it with a recessed washer outlet box. The install should have been straight forward. I have 1/2 copper pipes that run parallel. The installation could have been done so many different ways but what they chose to do was shove my 1/2 pipes into what I'm guessing is a 3/4-1 faucet inlet and then did a terrible job at soldering them to keep them in place. They also unnecessarily cut and soldered my pipes in like 4 different places while soldering on repair sleeves for no good reason. On top of that the they burned the outlet box from the soldering work and the hot water valve was not level with the cold. They told me this happens all the time. The total cost of the work was supposed to be $1250. They gave me the option to take $250 off for the burned box or have them replace it and pay the full $1250. I took the discount went to the store and fixed it myself. I couldn't risk them doing that ridiculous soldering stuff anymore. Please see pictures.

Overall I wish that I would have just had them install the drain pipe as that is all I really needed them to do. I don't feel as though I should have paid anything for the install of that box. It was literally leaking by the time they left and I had to call them back to fix it immediately after. I ended up throwing away $550 worth of their work and redoing it with higher quality materials for less than $100 and 20 minutes of my time.

We had a very serious, plumbing problem around 8 PM and called Olin and they were able to fit us in the next day. Alex and Henry were prompt and professional, and explained our options. They fixed the problem and overall it made a really scary plumbing issue feel less overwhelming. We will definitely call them again when needed.

First I prefer family owned work over corporate business's when it comes to my home.  I was searching for a good Water Heater deal and wanted to continue with a 50G Tank version (preferable Rheem).  Olin Plumbing was great over the phone and gave me a ball park estimate after answering some simple questions.  Their Technician Ramsey called me towards the end of my 4 hour window and showed up shortly after.  He was able to confirm the quote, order the water heater and install all in the same day.

I will advise that this is normally a two day process.  One for the estimate, if you have anything other than an accessible first floor water heater, and the second for installation.  Plan accordingly based on what they tell  you.  Olin will give you a 4 hr window for their technician to visit and while he was not there exactly during the window they did communicate well with me so I was not tied to the house.

Ramsey did a great job and all my questions were answered effectively, and he did a great job with the install.  He drained and removed my water heater, and installed the new one in under 2 hours.  Very high quality work and would definitely recommend in the future.  Plumbers are in high demand and there are not many high experience ones left in the industry so make sure you are working with the best.
