Filled out a Yelp quote request for service in Manassas and Mike responded right away and was out the next day to look at my water heater. We decided to replace and he came out the next day to do the replacement. Gave me fair pricing, was super informative and responsive and showed up right on time. Definitely recommend, will be using again when I have future plumbing projects.
I hired Mike to replace our leaking water heater and outside faucet. I chose him based on his quote and his expertise on the subject. Overall he did a fantastic job. He was on time, work turned out great and his quote was on point. I would hire him again for any plumbing needs.

We had a leak, and Michael came out to do an estimate today for us. He was honest and told us that the source of the leak was not a plumbing related issue but rather a different issue. Honest guy and I would recommend him for that alone.

I had an issue with a shower fixture that became dislodged from my shower wall. Michael was easy to work with, talking with me about the issue via both text message and phone before scheduling a convenient time to come take a look at my issue. Unfortunately, despite Michael's best effort, we weren't able to immediately resolve the issue due to a pre-existing structural issue with my wall & tile. Before he left he also assessed the water pressure of my home to ensure that wasn't causing any issues. I'll be sure to keep Michael in mind for future plumbing needs.

Had our sewer line backup which meant that our entire line was clogged. Looked on Yelp for someone to unclogged and saw that MJW Plumbing Company had a high rating and a quick response. I sent a message which resulted in a quick response, even on a holiday Sunday. The owner called shortly thereafter and made an appointment to stop by. He arrived on time, assessed the situation, told us what to expect and took care of the problem. Main sewer line opened and we are happy. We highly recommend MJW Plumbing. Great response, knowledgeable and friendly and reasonable prices, even for a holiday weekend.
Mike was great! He was easy to get in touch with and came out quickly for our non-emergency issues. He did thorough work and explained what he was doing and issues he noticed without trying to upsell. We will definitely use him again.
Mike did a great job for us inspecting water pressure and gas line. Knowledgeable and helpful.
Very good service. The sink installation was quick. I also received helpful advice about my water heater. I would use this plumbing service again.
I called Mike to unclog a sink and give an estimate on several other items in our new house. While this wasn't an emergency, he said he could stop by later that afternoon and he did. He gave me a very good assessment of everything and made a few suggestions also. He did a great job educating me on various items and didn't apply any pressure. When something was beyond his capabilities, he was quick to suggest I find someone else for the work. He also followed up to see if we wanted to move forward.
To sum it up, Mike was quick, helpful and didn't give the usual sales pitch you'd get from others. He's definitely on my shortlist for future plumbing projects and emergencies!

I called Mike for a badly clogged bath drain. He gave me an estimated price over the phone. He came out the same day and cleared the drain (he was very persistent!) and stuck to the estimated price. He was very polite and friendly, too! I highly recommend Mike.
Based on reviews, I selected MJW for an emergency situation, where our ceiling was leaking water. I gave him 5 stars for the following reasons:
1. Michael was quick to respond by calling me back off hours within 30 minutes.
2. He came to our home earlier than estimated
3. Very professional, knowledgeable and courteous
4. Transparent with pricing
He figured out the root cause of the leak.

Very knowledgeable and helpful explaining the process of replacing my water heater. Mike was very quick to respond and made sure I understood the pros and cons of each choice.
Short Version:
Mike is AWESOME. You should hire him for whatever plumbing issue(s) you may be having.
Longer Version:
After searching for a couple of weeks for a reputable plumber that would 1) Do work in an HOA, 2) work with someone (me) from across the country and 3) get the job done quickly - I found MJW Plumbing on yelp and decided to give them a try.
He took my call and after explaining (as best I could from 2500 miles away) what I understood the problem to be - Mike was happy to coordinate with the folks renting the unit directly and went out on a SUNDAY to take a look. Within an hour of him getting to the unit I had a phone call, a series of pictures, an estimate and a planned install date.
In a era where customer service tends to be an after thought - at best - Mike and his company are a model for what service companies should strive to be. Truly worth every penny paid.

I called this morning because I found a leak in one of the pipes in my basement. Mike was busy, but he managed to squeeze me in that same morning to fix the problem. So Yelp threw me a curveball when I went to submit a request for a quote for some plumbing work. What I didn't realize was that Yelp would randomly send out multiple requests (what?) ...
That being said, Michael called me back about 10 mins later (lightning fast!) He was extremely polite and professional, and I would have made an appointment except it was only after we'd had a great conversation that he found out I was in the Maryland side.
Will definitely refer him to my VA friends!

Mike is the best plumber, hands down. We recently moved into a very nice home and were completely surprised on Sunday evening when our kitchen sink U-joint suddenly started leaking whenever we used the sink. Water was gushing on the floor for no apparent reason, and had we run the dishwasher, we would have been flooded. I placed a Yelp post for emergency service with 4-5 local plumbers, and Mike was the only one who called me right away. He even asked me to text him a photo of the U-joint and within two minutes, he had diagnosed the problem, quoting me a price and agreeing to come and see me the next day. Mike showed up right when he said he would and fixed our problem in no time while providing us with great advice on how to keep our sink drain pipe as clear as possible. Mike was extremely polite, personable and his price was exactly what he quoted -- which was very reasonable. I will be calling Mike for all of our plumbing needs!
Fast, friendly, and fair. Mike was super responsive when I contacted him about a non-functioning garbage disposal over the weekend. The issue turned out to be an electrical problem rather than a plumbing problem based on the testing he did. He was fantastic to work with and I'll definitely be calling the next time I have a plumbing issue!
Mike from MJW Plumbing Company responded immediately to my request for a quote to replace my water heater. He gave me an accurate quote and booked the job for two days later. Mike is a plumber like no other. Nothing but 5 star reviews surely made me skeptical but I'm glad I went with Mike.
He's is easily reachable by text or phone. He'll arrive when he says he does, and he'll make sure you're satisfied at multiple check points throughout his work and his estimates are fair, and accurate. If he can expand and do a little extra he'll offer it and provide the cost before he does anything additional.
I've had him do two separate jobs and extremely happy with both. Customer service is clearly a strength of his as he's a friendly, courteous and even taught me a few things along the way.

We had been experiencing very loud knocking from some of the pipes in our house for years and they were progressively getting worse! We had Mike come out and replace the main water shut off valve and pressure reducing valve, now we no longer have any knocking! Woo hoo!
Whilst he was here he also changed our broken shower head and snaked our bathroom sink.

I called Mike in the evening on Memorial Day with a badly clogged kitchen sink. To my surprise, Mike said that he would be over my house in 30 minutes to take care of the issue. I couldn't believe he was willing to come over immediately at 8pm on a holiday. Mike is extremely friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. I can't recommend them enough! I called Mike on a Sunday, because my sump pump wouldn't turn off and was making a horrible noise. He told me he could come out and replace it that same day. He even asked me what time was convenient for me? He was up front about the charges, which were beyond reasonable. He arrived promptly and explained what needed to be done. Mike is extremely honest and wants to make sure his customers are treated fairly. I will definitely be using him again for any plumbing needs and have already recommended him to my friends and neighbors.
Mike did great work installing a new pressure reducing valve in our home. He did the work the very same day that I called him. I give him a 5 star rating. He was professional and courteous.

I would recommend Mike to anyone who needs a plumber. We had an emergency issue and within minutes we were able to get ahold of him and get a fair and honest quote. He was able to come out right away (6pm on a friday!) and fix the issue within an hour. Mike was so professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We would use him again anytime!

Mike is awesome. He responded to my initial request within 30 minutes and was available to come out quickly. We had some noisy pipes and with prior bursts, wanted to make sure everything looked good. Mike identified that the noise was from high water pressure, likely from a failed pressure release valve. Once replaced, we no longer had issues. Awesome customer service! Had a kitchen sink leak that Mike fixed in no time. Very thorough in his diagnostic, definitely needed to hire a pro to do the job. He replaced my previous DIY work (my DIY was like a band aid more than a permanent fix) at a very fair price and quality parts. Also fixed drainage in basement bathroom and replaced parts. These men very literally skipped dinner at home to come replace my water heater and for a price less than the other quotes I received for the same job.
The whole thing decided to give up the ghost on a Monday, because of course it did, and they threw caution to the wind and showed up after I got out of work Tuesday [later than anyone usually makes appointments] despite having a suspicion that the job would be a tricky one. After much careful wiggling, rerigging, rewiring, and replumbing, they got everything installed, cleaned out my air conditioner condenser for free and had the foresight to test and replace a few other worn parts to prevent problems later down the road. Both of them were careful to involve me in the entire process so I understood what was going on and could see what needed fixing with my own eyes instead of just being handed charges fait accompli and so I know how to check problem areas in the future.
While I, of course, hope not to -need- them again, they're the top of my list to call if I ever do.

My husband and I had a terrific experience with our plumbing needs with Mike. Our water heater had conked out due to a broken valve and Mike responded to our situation in a very timely manner, and extended himself beyond the call of duty. Our home is new so the part was covered under warranty still and Mike picked up the new valve and returned our old one on our behalf. His level of communication was excellent always informing us every step of the way. When he got to our home, he fixed our water heater under 2 hours and had hot water running again. Mike was very efficient and had a very smooth flow and professional demeanor while fixing our water heater. He gave great recommendations and a clear diagnosis of what happened to our water heater. We also contacted about a dozen companies for an estimate and Mike has competitive pricing. Mike replaced a worn out shutoff valve and our hot water heater. He was professional and quick to respond. I would definitely use his services again.
This Sunday, I ran into a snag with a bathroom renovation, which prevented water from being used in my home. Mike came out within the hour and resolved the issue. In addition to this, he proposed several options, some of which I could complete on my own, and others which he would need to assist, to complete my project. I felt zero pressure at all when I told him I needed to think about what would work best. Very refreshing. He will be my first call if I have any plumbing issues in the future.
Michael was the quickest to respond to our request for a new toilet installation, and he was also the most reasonable and personable. He is an excellent communicator and helps explain plumbing in layman's terms, which gave us total confidence in his work. He was very efficient on the job and even hauled away the old toilet so we didn't have to worry about it. I highly recommend hiring MJW Plumbing for your plumbing needs if you want honest, reliable work that's totally reasonable!
I usually never write reviews but my experience with MJW plumbing was the best experience I ever had in household repair/maintenance. I called MJW plumbing in a panic on a Saturday morning when my water heater stopped working. Mike's wife answered the phone immediately and set me up with a same day appointment, giving me updates of his ETA by text. Mike arrived within two hours of my phone call. He was able to diagnose the problem immediately, drive to Fergusons to obtain the required replacement part and fix the water heater within 1.5 hours of arrival. Mike's work was not only of high quality but amazingly efficient. In addition, Mike and his wife were both extremely courteous and pleasant to speak to and addressed any questions or concerns I had about the repair. Mike does a great job! Mike got right back to me via Yelp, asked for some pictures and gave me an estimate and I scheduled an appointment there and then.
Mike was very communicative, and gave me the option of buying my own parts.
Mike is friendly, polite, and does great work at reasonable price. He replaced two faucets and a shower valve core, in our home.

My kitchen sink is clogged so I was checking around. Michael respond to me right away. He squeezed the job in his busy Sunday schedule, and get it fixed in the same day. In addition, he also replaced two leaking shut off valves for me. All with reasonable price. Michael is very polite and professional. Will use him again for future jobs.
Mike and Owen did amazing work in an extremely timely manner. They came within one hour's notice after we had a pipe burst and resolved it very quickly and professionally. After I broke the outdoor water spigot off my girlfriends house and flooded her backyard, she wanted a plumber to fix the issue ASAP. Mike installed my water heater two years ago and did a great job. This morning I heard a weird noise coming from near the heater and texted him about it. He responded almost instantly. After we talked and I shared pics and video, he correctly determined it wasn't the water heater at all. Even after that was apparent, Mike still followed up with me to offer suggestions for how to fix the problem. Really outstanding service. I will contact him for any plumbing issue.
Mike has come to fix several things in our rental house. He is prompt to respond to correspondence, very flexible with his schedule, and wicked fast with the work he does. He has replaced our hot water heater (from start to finish, including supply runs, it took him 2.5 hours), he's replaced our rental house's main shut off valve in about an hour, and he replaced a kitchen faucet in less than an hour. He has taken initiative interfacing with our landlord and has never treated us any differently being renters than if we were homeowners. Mike is a great plumber, and is absolutely the only plumber we'll be calling in the future. MJW is the best way to go - steer clear of the chain plumbing companies and get the best service from MJW!

First of all he doesn't bother wearing a mask and covering his shoes white getting in a place and he would come close to talk so no safety measures at all. Infact he was complaining about wearing mask and the should have been a red flag to me. Well I understand that many businesses charge more on weekends which I was ok to pay as I had to resolve the flooding issues in the basement. He has been quit rude in the first place when told me that he would be charging 600$ and if I didn't confirm it in 10 minutes he wouldn't do the job and he started talking about his kids and wife being left just because he will be taking the job. Dude no one forced you to take the work you don't want to do on a week end it's purely your choice and u are not doing it for charity
He kept pushing me for the camerascopy which honestly I didn't mind doing and paying extra but each time I would ask him to let me think he would, with a rude attitude, tell me that I only have 10 minutes to decide else he won't do it.
I totally don't trust his work and I am more then happy to pay someone else to do the job again and at least be nice the client. Would never recommend him to any one.
His work ethics are out of question. Beware he doesn't wear a mask he will talk to you getting close and he would enter the house with his shoes

Mike came out to fix my leaky tub spout, he repaired/replaced handles, cartridges and spout. Price seemed very reasonable. He is very professional, honest and polite.

I'm still in process of finding the right person to fix a plumbing issue at our home, but I wanted to leave a positive review about MJW and their use of the Yelp quote platform.
Mike got back to me in short order and gave me a straight assessment of my situation based off the pictures I sent. This is exactly the type of response that I would be looking for out of the Yelp price quote system (versus others that just said to call them, and then the person taking the call had no clue what I sent/wrote about my issue)

I had a leaky pipe to my toilet late in the evening. I searched Yelp for plumbers and put out a request for help. MJW was the first to respond and provided Mike's contact info to speak with him in the morning. I called him shortly after 8 am. From the start, I was impressed by his professionalism. He identified himself, asked me to describe the problem and provided an estimated cost and time of arrival. He arrived on time and quickly assessed the problem and provided options to fix it. With my go ahead, he got straight to work and fixed the leak. He also graciously looked over past work on the toilet and okayed it. He also tested his work before departing to ensure there were no remaining issues.
I will definitely be calling Mike again for my plumbing needs. Highly recommend him!

Responsive, communicative, personal, up-front and well-priced service. Called at 8:30pm, he called back immediately, requested pictures of my problem, diagnosed a solution over the phone, gave me a quote that was totally in-line with my expectation and repaired the issue the next day. Consulted on a couple of other questions I had and offered home-owner solutions. No up-sells. A great plumber is a real find. Highly recommend.
Mike from MJW Plumbing and his employee recently replaced our hot water heater that was leaking. He was friendly, polite, fast responder and knowledgeable for the job at hand. I called on a Monday (a holiday) and he was out on Wed with all parts to replace the water heater (no small feat now a days). Also, they were professional and being in the midst of a pandemic wore masks and took off their shoes as necessary.
We also have a leak within our upstairs bathroom and instead of taking us to the cleaners, he was honest on what would be involved and the best path forward to correct the issue.
I can't recommend a more competent and knowledgeable plumbing company than MJW Plumbing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I would definitely hire him again.

He showed up at the scheduled time, did a thorough review of the leak and quickly diagnosed the problem. He was able to fix the leak quickly and efficiently. Throughout the process he continually checked to make sure I understood what he was doing and why. He was always polite, professional and informative. The best part is the repair cost less than his estimate. I would definitely recommend him and use him again.
Michael replaced a broken water pressure valve (PRV) for me today along with a corroded shut off valve and a really old sump pump. He arrived on time and did an excellent job. I love how he uses high quality parts for his work. He explained everything to me very well and in detail. His work was also very clean and neat. We'll be using him again for any future plumbing work. Highly recommended. It's best to contact him via phone or text.

Mike and Owen just finished a job and they were awesome! They fixed an exterior hose spigot and interior bib and did very thorough-high quality work. He walked me through a couple of options and walked me through the whole process, he was very patient and super communicative. He's very personable! I highly recommend them for your plumbing needs!
Michael came out today to do an estimate on replacing some copper piping. He was on time, called ahead, gave a fair quote, and got to work right away. He even checked my water pressure and offered a quote on some other work that could be done, but there was never any pressure. He seemed knowledgeable.
I would like to note that he was one of the few companies willing to come out quickly, offer a fair price, and get the work done right away. Quite a few other places wanted upfront deposits, couldn't come out till next week, or never even responded. Which is bad for them because I may have just found my plumber for life (this is the first time I have had plumbing work done, just bought our house).
I appreciated the strait forward and honest job.
I had a backflow preventer that was constantly leaking water into a basement drain. Mike came the next day, took care of the problem, and diagnosed the cause - a failing pressure reducer. He completed the repair in short order at a reasonable rate (the rate he quoted me over the phone the previous day), and clearly explained all the steps he was taking. Would definitely call again for any plumbing issues. Highly recommend.
