Replaced the anti-scald device in my shower and was prompt, fully prepared, did a great job, and was highly professional. And unlike the other companies on Yelp! that I asked for quotes, I didn't get the whole, Call me routine, or even worse, We'll come out and give you an estimate. It's replacing a few simple parts, folks. So I really appreciated that these guys didn't complicate things.

We had a basement floor drain back up from the main line. Jon was very polite on the phone and gave specific estimates for the scope and price of the work, as well as a very accurate estimate of when he would arrive. He took COVID precautions and explained the work he would be doing. He had the drain cleared quickly and went the extra mile (well, extra 100 feet) snaking the main line all the way out to the county sewer line. He showed me video from the pipe along the way and even helped to mark a buried clear out. I didn't use them for the Hydro Rooting service, but did ask for a quote and absolutely plan to have them come back to do that!

John has been able to assist us with replacing a sump - even though the outflow pipes the builder put in could have been done a lot better! He is great-takes the time to figure out what the issues are and gets to the solution!! Highly recommended!!!

This review is long overdue but better late than never.  In March this year we had a clog in our main drain. Hydro-Rooters were able to book a same day appointment which was on Sunday.  Diego arrived during the scheduled time frame and assessed the clog for the best approach to clear it.  Diego cleared the drain from the outside and was very thorough in his explanation on what needed to be done as he was working.  He scoped out the drain while he was clearing the drain and he was able to show us the clog caused by tree roots.  We've had this issue in the past but hired someone else who told us we needed to hire someone else if we wanted the drain scoped. When this last company cleared our drain, they had to come out the next day and clear it again.  We were happy to finally have some visibility on the actual clog and see it cleared out.  Due to our past experience we had concerns that our basement would be flooding due to the main drain. It's July now and we've had no overflow issues or flooding in our basement.  Diego is honest and has a good work ethic.  Happy we found a plumber we can trust!

My main sewer line backed up into my basement.  My regular plumber snaked the line, but recommended I hydro-jet it also, which is a service he did not offer and would have to sub out with a markup.  

I found these guys on Yelp and got in touch via email.  First, they respond as quickly as they promise.  They responded to my original email, and follow up emails, almost immediately.  And when I called, they answered the phone right away.  We booked the service for the following day, and they called when they were on their way and arrived right on time.  When dealing with a potentially serious plumbing issue, responsiveness is incredibly important to me.  

Second, Diego and John are incredibly friendly and polite.  They explained their pricing up front so there were no surprises, and it was far more competitive than what my plumber would have charged to sub out the work.  They were incredibly neat, covering the floor with tarps, wiping down all the lines going into and out of the drain, using booties when they entered the house, and they left the work area cleaner than they found it.  

Third, they know what they are doing.  They are organized and efficient, and did the work in a professional manner.  

Fourth, their equipment is top of the line.  The ran a camera through my pipe several times - before, during and after the jetting.  The camera image was crystal clear, and much better than what my original plumber used.  I was able to look over their shoulders at the monitor and they explained everything they saw, what they were doing and what needed to be done.  

Fifth, the work was completed in a timely and cost-effective manner to my total satisfaction.  They blasted off decades of scale buildup and other residue in the line, taking off rough edges, and smoothing and opening the line so there are no areas that might cause a clog.  They left my sewer line in much better shape than when they found it.

I could not recommend Hydo-Rooters more highly.

Well, Jon saved the day again!  I had one of those bidet toilet seats that was broken, and so I removed it for a replacement (heated seat, no bidet).
I thought I could handle capping the bidet water line, but it didn't go well at all.  After FIVE hours of trying to fix it so it wouldn't leak, I gave up and texted Jon late at nite.  He responded first thing in the morning, and came after his first appointment of the day.  He took all of five minutes to fix the problem, then installed the new toilet seat - heated, so nice since the weather turned!

I've had multiple sewer line clogs throughout the years due to old corroded pipes. I usually have to call someone to snake the line at least twice a year. After doing some research, I found out about hydro-jetting. I contacted Hydro-Rooters and Jon came out within an hour of my call. First off, very professional guy. He arrived neat and respected my home and used boot covers. He explained the hydro-jetting process, its benefits and advantages over snaking, and gave me a written quote before starting. His quote was very reasonable from others I received. He even showed me my line with his sewer camera after he was done at no extra charge! I've had my line scoped out in the past and I was ecstatic to see the condition! It really looked brand new. After he was finished he cleaned up, moved everything back the way it was, and provided me with a written guarantee. I'm so glad I called Hydro-Rooters! I was having problems with my garbage disposal. Diego walked me through some things to try in an attempt to save me some money. His advice worked! I really appreciate a company that works for the consumer. I may not have had to have them come out to my house, but if needed in the future, they will be my first call. Great plumber that does what it takes to get the job done right. I've hired them a couple of times and was impressed each time. The first was for a pipe replacement. The second was to lower drain pipe after getting a new sink. The second project ran into some hurdles but Diego took care of them with ease. He even saved me quite a bit of $ for coming up with cheaper solutions to some of the problems we ran into.

Very good guy.  This is the 2nd time I have used him. First was a new AC/heater unit for my house and today to fix a water leak on my hot water heater.

Great plumbers! Our 25 year old hot water heater finally decided to kick the bucket over the weekend and we hired Jon and Diego to replace it. Communication was prompt, pricing was straight forward, and scheduling a breeze. We were able to have the water heater replaced the next day and are extremely satisfied with the work. Thanks guys!

I had very outstanding help from Diego , my kitchen sink was leaking , they walked me through the issue and my problem resolved without charging me . I do recommend them . They are very very fair and helpful .

These guys are great! My husband had dumped a bucket of water in our toilet with not 1 but 2 rags in the bucket; then he flushed the toilet! Water started coming up in our new shower and spilled on to our new floor. What a mess! Called Hydro-Rooter because of great reviews.Turns out the rags were stuck about 18 in at the main drain line connection. John came out and really used all his creativity to get the stuck rags out. He then did a video inspection of the line to make sure no other problems and cleaned up everything to perfection! Took the time to make sure the job was done right. I'll definitely use and recommend these folks again!

Contacted these guys late last night and the owner was able to provide us a rough estimate over Yelp.
Next day, Diego arrived on time and even gave us a phone call 30 mins prior for a heads up.
He put on shoe covers before entering our home. And was able to determine a plan of action on the spot. Signed the contract and he was able to repair one of the parts in his utility vehicle. Which was awesome and saved me $30.
He went back upstairs and completed his work in 30 minutes. He cleaned the reusable parts before reinstalling so I figured this man takes pride in his work.
His fee was reasonable.
Will definitely recommend and reuse him in the future.

They did a very good job installing our 2 new bathroom sink fixtures.
I loved that I could take photos of the sinks, new fixtures we had bought and text to them.  Got a price to install right back.  They came on time, did the work and the bill was exactly as quoted. No extra fees or upsell. Straight forward and easy.  I will hire them again for any plumbing we need.

This review is not based on their work itself but it's based on their estimate.  I was looking for a plumber who would install a water power activated backup sump pump.  The good thing about this company is they provide an estimate through online w/o having them come out.  I took pictures of my work area as they requested and show what kind of sump pump I want to install by sending them a link to Home Depot website.  Many (if not all) reviewers on Home Depot website says it is so easy to install as a DoItYourself job.  After email communications, I was told it would cost $850 labor only and parts separate.  I contacted the other plumber and the cost was $250.   So...not sure if their estimate was real or they incorrectly estimated...  But I wasn't happy with their estimate.

Called on a Saturday for a same day service. Diego promptly answered my call and prior to dispatching someone to come out, he walked me through various possible solutions. He actually helped me solve the problem and saved me a visit- and some major grief. These guys will be my go to for future service. Thanks!!!!

We first met Jon by fixing a previous certified plumber's mistakes from a different company. He was able to diagnose the problem and fix it immediately with utmost professionalism. He noticed our water heater was leaking while turning the main water back on and offered us a great deal to replace it - we took him up on his offer. It has been about a month since replacing the water heater and we have absolutely no complaints! Hydro-Rooters is officially our go-to plumber and we highly recommend!

After repeated sink clogs and average plumbers coming to snake the line, we finally stumbled upon a WINNING plumber. They went above and beyond to fix something that was poorly installed by the prior homeowner.  I am going to use them to replace all the toilets when I move in!

Service was great, transparent about the issue and resolved the problem after a detail explanation of the issue.  Price was not cheap, but wasn't over priced, I would highly recommend the service if you have a plumbing issue that you can't fix yourself and need an honest plumbing service.

This company is has exceptional response capacity and professional personnel. I contacted them at 11 pm on a Saturday night. They responded and had a  plumber at my house by 10 am the next day to clear a stopped up kitchen drain. The plumber they sent, Yon, was courteous, polite and professional. Second plumber I got for the issue. Jon came in, very nice, went over the issue with me and got to work. I had damage from mold in the ceiling of my  kitchen of my sink because of issues in my bathrooms that I didn't know of at the time. He noticed the toilets may have been causing the problem and corrected the issue. What makes them a five is they responded the same day, John was very nice and explained everything to me, he cleaned up everything, and he went above and beyond by writing a detailed statement for my insurance. I definitely recommend this company.

They were very fair on pricing. They did an excellent job and provided extra special care for COVID19  because we have a newborn in the house. Highly highly recommended.

We called Hydro-Rooters in the morning after a basement toilet and sink backed up. Jon came out the same day, snaked the main sewer line and, with the use of a camera, gave me a birds-eye view of the pipe. Unfortunately, the pipe (Orangeburg) from the house to the street needed to be replaced. Not only did they give us multiple options for replacing the pipe (and different price points), they were able to pull permits and complete the work less than 48 hours later! Everyone involved with the job was pleasant and professional, but most of all took the time to explain their work. This was an expensive job. Could I have found someone cheaper? Maybe. But based on a few calls not by much and certainly not as quickly.

After having a laundry drain that has been slowly getting worse over the past couple of years, we finally broke down and decided to have the line hydro-jetted.  We'd received several quotes, and Hydro-Rooter was by FAR the best of them.  Jon arrived exactly as scheduled (Short notice, I might add--2 hours from the time I first messaged him), and worked quite hard to get the drain cleared.  It took him almost 5 hours to get it done, but the drain hasn't given us a single problem since, and we were able to see the blockage and buildup in the line, and also where the line was offset by foundation settling.  Jon was polite, professional, and went above and beyond in helping us.  Rest assured I'll be using Hydro-Rooter for all of my plumbing needs, and cannot recommend them highly enough.

***UPDATE***  

Since our initial work done by Jon, the laundry drain finally became untenable.  The work required going through the concrete foundation of our home, and replacing 50-year old cast iron sewer pipe.  Jon and Diego came out on a Friday night, and worked the entire weekend to get the job done.   Just the work, work ethic, and price was enough to more than satisfy us, but they went above and beyond.  The water backup damaged the hot water heater, and no sooner had they packed up and headed out than we found out the water heater started leaking...  Jon to the rescue, AGAIN.   Had the water heater replaced the same day, and again, for a very reasonable price.  They even made sure that there were plenty of photos of the damage to the water heater to show the insurance company.

In short, customer service, quality of work, and value are absolutely unbeatable with Hydro-Rooter.  We've used them again and again for smaller problems, and they've never failed to impress us.  If you're in need of plumbers, do yourself a favor and CALL HYDRO-ROOTER NOW, you won't be disappointed.

These guys are great! They've come out several times and have solved a few plumbing issues for us. What I especially appreciate:

*Take the time to listen, ask questions, answer questions, and offer possibilities and education
*Provide info on what is the least expensive option and what a more costly option would be
*Work with us when we have done some of the labor ourselves (without being irritated or laughing at us about what we did or did not do right)

You may be able to find cheaper plumbers (though their prices are perfectly reasonable), but you will not find anyone more willing to help you arrive at the solution that is truly best for your house and budget. Most recently, Jon came out to put in a studor vent that he had recommended months ago. The drain kept clogging and it was time to go with his recommendation. He didn't tell us, You should have done it sooner. He helped me install the new vanity that fit the studor vent and we haven't had any more clogging since then (4 months). Thanks, Jon!

I can't say enough good about this company. I called them on an awful rainy night because my parents basement had water coming in because the drain outside the door was blocked. We were bailing water as fast as we could. We had no prior relationship with this company and they were closed. But the owner came out (from an hour away) and fixed the problem. He also fixed another longstanding drainage problem that multiple plumbers said couldn't be fixed. Fees were reasonable. Great guy!

It's been over a month since I called these guys about a toilet that was backing up on the lower level of my townhouse.  I got quotes from a few competitors, and they were all very close, so I figured to go with the company that indicates drain/sewer line cleaning is a specialty.  Definitely the right move, the guy gave me a very good primer on what my particular drainage was all about and why it was backing up.  Even showed me, with a video camera on the business end of their very long snake system.  Didn't take very long, and there has been no issue since.

These guys are the real deal.  They are a startup company, work hard, and are very honest.  As a Old Town Alexandria resident with very old pipes, I have a lot of experience with hydrojetting -- and these guys do the job thoroughly at a reasonable price.  They will be very successful due to their outstanding communication, customer service, and most importantly hard work and thoroughness.  They have my highest recommendation.

I find it so overwhelming when shopping around for various home contractors. No need to shop any further - HydroRooters is top notch!  Diego replaced my sump pump and also installed a battery backup sump pump. He was very friendly and knowledgable and all at a fair price. He found some other issues I may have in the future with my water heater,  and answered all my questions about it without any sale tactics.  He even gave me tips regarding other plumbing issues in my house. He took his time, was thorough, and cleaned up after the job. It is so great to find a home professional that I can trust. I will definitely be using him again for future plumbing needs!

These guys are great. Fixed two plumbing issues that I had in a new home. They were very fair and upfront with what it would cost. They were also very responsive and able to come out to the house within a couple hours of me contacting them. I called with a clogged drain in the kitchen.   Diego was at my house 2 hours later.  He diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in an hour.  Left the under sink area cleaner that he found it.  Great company, great plumber, good prices.  My number one go to for future plumbing issues.

We called Hydro-Rooters to help address an exterior drain that overflowed in recent rains.  Co-owner Diego came the next day, and provided excellent service.

He located immediately located a chunk of concrete in our drain line; it would have been easy for him to try forcing that chunk out our sewer line, at the risk of damaging or clogging the sewer line.  Instead, he stopped, explained the situation clearly, and asked for my input.  Before long, Diego devised a clever way to remove the concrete, and thoroughly cleaned and inspected our drain and sewer lines.

He was courteous and professional throughout, happy to share his expertise and answer questions.  While we hope not need his services again, we are very happy to recommend him.
