Payless Rooter

Let's face it, when you have a plumbing issue at home you probably see money flying out the window, especially if it happens on the weekend. I know I was a ball of angst, but Payless Rooter came to the rescue and I recommend them.

I called for a problem with my drain line to the kitchen and laundry room. They came out to review the issue and started the work promptly. When the job turned out bigger than could be done on the spot, they were up front about the costs and the potential overrun if the job was larger once they started work. I made arrangements for a weekday repair and the crew was right on time and got straight to work keeping us informed of the progress. In the end, the job was completed fairly quickly and our problem solved. Matt and his crew were a nice bunch to work with, and were always polite, respectful, and professional.

The sort of bad: My job involved digging in my yard and part of my neighbor's yard between the houses. We get it that it won't look the same after, but the cleanup was a little bit messy. The other thing that could use a little improvement is that they do all estimates electronically which is great, but due to a glitch mine didn't arrive via email as promised. No worries, this is easily fixable by asking for a copy which I'm sure they'll gladly provide.

The good: the team was a pleasure to deal with, on time, and the costs were right as estimated up front without any surprise add-ons. And unlike other companies, there is no trip charge just to tell you what they can do for you. They came out, assessed the job, and provided clear up-front information about the work. What a great professional group.

Beyond annoyed by my service with Payless Rooter. They came to give me an estimate, I then schedule for an appointment, they miss the appointment, have to schedule it again, they come and do the work. Was charged ~$1400 to have the water pressure reduced in the house as it was too high, along with some work on one of the showers. I was still having issues with temperature and pressure after the work, I had messaged the business owner on yelp to explain I had issues regarding the work, they tell me to call in to set an appointment. I called and set an appointment, no one ever came out at the time of the appointment, no call to tell me that no one was coming.

Fast forward two weeks I was able to get someone out to take a look at things. My water pressure was set lower than what I was told it was the previous time someone came out to do some work.

UPDATE: Ironically the day I wrote my review for previous service, we had the worst experience with this company. While my previous recommendation for Kevin still stands, I can no longer recommend the company as they blew off our appointment time 3 times with no contact on 2 occasions. I spoke with multiple representatives in customer service trying to work things out, however the things I was told by these representatives were never followed up on nor were they documented in our client
profile with the company. Sad to see such a downfall in only a couple months.

We had Kevin come over to our home to look at some plumbing issues we were having. The service we received was 5 stars, and we would work with Kevin again.

Our basement toilet was backing up.  The company came and out was responsive. The tech was very professional and I believe he tried to clear our sewer line, but maybe did not have enough line on his machine for my house.  My issue with this first part is that the machine scraped my wood stairs going both up and down. I said something to the tech and he said, well, it happens and the machine belts were worn.  I told him that the last guy to do this 5 years ago never scraped my stair.

For the job, he had a 100 feet of cable on his sewer machine and don't not have any extra on his truck to add. Unfortunately, he did not get the clog cleared and said his boss would come out and run a scope to see what the issue was. The supervisor did come out and cameraed the sewer. He couldn't tell what was blocking the sewer and recommended that I install clean outs outside my house. They did offer to immediately start on the issue on a Friday evening. I really appreciated that the company wanted to take care of the issue then. However, if I waited through the weekend to Monday or Tuesday, the price dropped by about $600, still not at a price you don't want to just dive into the project.

It kind of struck me a little strange that the issue couldn't be cleared and the camera wasn't really showing what the clog was.  So instead of just going with the advice, I thought I would try the place I had out on a prior occasion (I would have used this rooter service, but unfortunately they couldn't give me a time slot on Friday).

Anyway, original rooter came out and cleared the problem. He used a longer than 100 foot cable.  I also obtained another quote to install an outside clean out, if that was the actual solution. The quotes were $700-$1,300 less.

A couple of things:  1)  Payless was not careful with their machine and my stairs or they need to maintain the machine, so it doesn't scrape stairs; 2) they did refund my fee because they couldn't get the clog undone;  3) they might be a little high for clean out bids; and 4) I never determined if I actually needed the recommended work or was just being sold a bigger job. I say this because another company was able to get the clog cleared.

We had a backup in our basement, of course on a Sunday. Payless Rooter was prompt to answer our call and sent out people within an hour. Eric and Angel were professional and pleasant to work with. We will absolutely call payless rooter again.

Jeremy did a great job cleaning out the mail line drain at our house, he took care to not make a huge mess, cleaned up after his work and was on time to the appointment.

Gave us a very reasonable quote, then charged us less when it didn't require as much work.

This company charged my credit card $675.00 and I do not know who they are. I will be reporting this to the authorities.

REPLY: Amy, I never did business with Payless Rooter. The repairs were made by 303 plumbing which i now know that they are one in the same.

I did call your manager Mathew and was not well recieved. Mathew was very aggressive and also threatened a lawsuit. After speaking with you, you stated that the payment had infact been paid May 13th but refused to explain why Payless Rooter had my CC info and why it was charged $675.

All in all both Amy and Mathew were very aggressive in handling their mistake.

When speaking to another representative of the company she stated they are very busy and that's why both Amy and Mathew were unprofessional. Her exact words were i don't mean to make excuses, but...

I am still waiting on a refund.

Beware of doing business with both 303 plumbing and Payless Rooter!

I had a main line clog and Paul and Jeremy came out right away and did a GREAT job. They identified the location of the clog immediately and also identified the cause - an improper T joint had been installed by a prior company. They were very professional, cleaned up nicely and wore masks the whole time. Highly recommend!

Jeremy was able to come out within a few hours and help with our clogged drain. He was very professional and polite and did a great job!

This place showed up on time. Wore masks, I don't care what the mask mandate says, if you're in my house-you wear a mask. The pea trap kept leaking for years, I'd try to fix it- never lasted. Turns out that the pea trap was installed 2 inches shorter than it should have been. The plumber goes out to his truck and gets the right size, explaining everything he's doing and why along the way. Reasonable price for a great fix!

Jeremy was very professional and got the job done right. He didn't waste anytime and completed the job with a positive attitude

Invoice 31155  The technician should get the highest marks for a job well done in a difficult situation. He was honest, persistent, and determined. And answered all my questions.
Even though he had problems, the tech performed admirably.  I just went down in the crawl space and the are no leaks.  Even though he could not get his rooter through the pipes and it made al kinds of noise; he stuck with for several hours.  And the toilet leaked after he put it back but he managed to fix that. HIs explanations were detailed and credible and proved accurate in the following days.
This townhouse has some crazy problems due to a kitchen remodel in which several layers of plywood, heated floor, tile, cement board were added to the floor.  Some of this I  knew about but I didn't know how it would affect the plumbing.

Was in town visiting my dad. He had a kitchen sink that wouldn't drain. I contacted Payless Rooter. I am glad that I did.

They sent drain tech (Dino) who determined that there were some plumbing repairs that had to be made before he could clear drain. He arranged for plumber (Kevin) to come out that same afternoon. After the repairs were made, he came back to finish the clean-out.

Both Dino and Kevin were prompt (arriving nearer to  the end of the promised window - but well within it), courteous, and professional. They explained what needed to be done and why. Work was finished quickly and they left no mess whatsoever. On top of all of that, the price was quite fair.

We have already recommended Payless Rooter to several of my dad's neighbors.

After a sudden drain back-up on a Saturday morning, I called Payless Rooter, and they had someone out to my house within two hours. Jeremy was on-time, friendly, polite, and took time to assess what we really needed before getting to work. I was worried that it was going to require a lot more work, but Jeremy cleaned out two spots, got everything clear and flowing again, and didn't try to upsell me on work that wasn't needed. I'll definitely call them again if we have another drain issue in the future.

I've used Payless Rooter in the past and they have always been reliable and great to work with. I needed a gas line hooked up for an outdoor grill and been having issues with it. They came out to look at the situation and hook up the line. However, the grill was not getting hot. I called Payless Rooter again and what was great is they came back to troubleshoot the issue and narrowed down the situation the a temperature gage on the grill which was not even a gas problem. They went over and above to get this resolved for me. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them for their follow through and dealing with frustrated customers like me in a positive manner.

Great service & excellent price.  Was thankfully able to send a plumber same day!

Sunday evening and a sewerage crisis!  Gordon arrived when promised and used his decades of experience to save my ass.  The camera tool is amazing but not as amazing as Gordon's ability to explain my problem and fix it.  
Oh, and at the fair price that was quoted.  
I regret that I can't give more than 5 stars.

We're so lucky to have found Payless Rooter. Honest, responsive, on time and professional. Needed a master plumber to check on gas line work and they offered a free estimate. We made an apt and Robert came out and took care of everything. Reasonable price-  He was friendly and professional and super efficient. We will be calling them for any future work . I would  highly recommend them!

Had a great experience with this team.  I called on a Saturday morning for a clogged sewer line.  Within a few hours, the problem was solved.

The customer service point person was friendly and helpful.  Allen, our tech, was a communicative & methodical problem solver.  I recommend Allen and this team to others, and will use them again.

This was one of the only places that could not only come out on a weekend without crazy after-hours fees but also knew old plumbing. Gordon came out on a Sunday, no less, and was able to diagnose the toilet issue very quickly. Unfortunately, no plumbing supply stores are open on a Sunday, but he came back on Monday and fixed the issue very quickly. I'd definitely use Payless (specifically Gordon) again. He knows his stuff!

The price was reasonable.  Sheduling was a breeze, and they had open appointments the next day.   Chris came out, listened when I had suggestions and took care of my drain problems.  I'm a happy customer, and will call Payless Rooter next time I have drain problems.

Had a late night call and these guys helped me out.  Sink was overflowing and needed someone to help right away.  Gordon made it happen within a few hours (at midnight). I have worked with a lot of plumbers in my business and look forward to working wIth them more in the future!

I called multiple sewer line cleaning companies and Payless rooter was one of the few who answered my call and the woman who answered, Amy, was friendly and pleasant to speak with. She was actually in the middle of something and asked to call me back shortly. Once she called me back, she was able to schedule me for next day service, which most of the other companies were not able to do. She said they were not able to give me a quote over the phone but that they did not charge a service fee to come out and that the technician would give me a price when he was there that would be comparable with the quotes I had received from the other companies. My wife was home at the time the technician arrived and said that he was friendly and did good work but did talk to her quite a bit. The technician resolved the issue and the price was comparable to the other companies I had received quotes from. Overall a great experience and I was impressed with their professionalism and willingness to get out to our house as quickly as they did. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a quick and reliable company that needs this service.

We sold our home and needed a septic line inspection. These guys showed up 1 hour after we called them with all the equipment to do the job on the spot.  They cleared the line, did a video to prove to the Buyer all was working properly. They did this at a very reasonable price and really knew their business.  Would definitely recommend them- they are real pros!!

Pros: quick response, friendly receptionist and techs, responded to my frustration by reducing the price twice since there was no complete fix.

Cons: main fix way overpriced (3x another bid) and wasted my day of the office with no plumbing resolution.

Mani was great. He got me a quote for my sewer replacement quickly and even helped get a plumber on site the same day to fix another plumbing issue unrelated to my sewer woes. I was thankful for the job they did for both my sewer and plumbing problems.

We have called Payless to come out 3 times now to fix ALL of our plumbing issues. They have very reasonable pricing  and we can count on Payless. I definitely recommend them.

Fantastic service! I had a clogged drain that was backing up and needed to be cleared out as soon as possible. I requested a quote and called and a plumber , Bob, came out within an hour and cleared the drain and the price was exactly what was quoted. Bob did a great job, was friendly, professional and very efficient. He left the space clean and the drains cleared. I would give more stars if I could and would use Payless Rooter again without hesitation.

Showed up the day of my request, resolved within 2hrs of labor.  Had to cut drywall and they did an excellent clean job and solved our issue.  Would highly recommend for quick needs, response and resolve.

Gabe was very professional on both visits. If your pipes get clogged. This is your man to unplug them.

We had a sewer backup on our basement. Payless came out and found a repair that another company did had failed. They had to dig to the sewer line to fix the problem   They did a lot of extra work for us and did it right so that we should have no more issues. I highly recommend them.

We needed a hot water heater replaced. They showed up quickly and did the replacement efficiently. Promised to send  us a receipt and information about the unit they installed. Have sent them numerous requests and can't get any information regarding the unit installed.  Nothing. We just want a copy of this in case we ever need warranty information.  So for service I give them a 5 star ... but for the warranty I give them a 1 star.

Absolutely wonderful.From Kathy who answered the phone to Gordon the technician who came to fix our issue! Gordon was polite, clean, friendly and speedy 1. 5 hours . Reasonable price for the work done. He went above and beyond making sure he did everything and checked everything before he left to make sure it was all good before he left! Also did I mention this was a Sunday morning. Thank you so much! I would definitely recommend them and will use them again should the need arise.

Called the company to come for preventative maintenance on my main line. Was able to setup and appointment a few days out. They even called and told me they had an earlier appointment opening (didn't work with my schedule) but the technician arrived on time and completed the work. Honest and transparent pricing. Would recommend

I'm surprised this company hasn't gotten more reviews- they certainly deserve some kudos! We called them around noon on a Sunday and the plumber showed up within half an hour. The woman who answered the phone was pleasant and responsive. Mike, the plumber, was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable.  Plumbing services are never cheap, but I don't feel taken advantage of or ripped off. I would highly recommend them, and will definitely use them again when the need arises.

The service guy was polite, but also sexist. Kept telling me to tell my husband he could take care of this... I corrected him several times that I have a wife. They also charged $195 to clean a drain that took him less than 10 minutes to clean, and the website said $95. Do not use them. They also said it would be another $195 to remove a toilet to get to a cleanout that you could get to from the wall Without needing to move the toilet. Pay more should really be the name.

Allen saved the day! My husband woke up early this morning to a backed up sink. He attempted to snake it with his handheld tool and without success, I jumped on yelp to find a plumber. Payless rooter was the first to respond. I had a couple others respond however Payless was the only one that could make it same day. The people on the phone were very polite and helpful and understood my sense of urgency. It took Allen about 3 hours to get to my house which is amazing and he was very clean, polite and quick. Payless Rooter did a job for us and fixed out hose connect outside...I had trouble with the technician that came.  Even though it was not a great experience at first, Amy, the Director of Sales, called me back and apologized and made it right for me. The work was done well and their customer service was really wonderful and thoughtful. Even though it was a rocky start to my experience I will be calling them if we have any plumbing issues again.

I called Payless based on the plethora of good reviews and they did not disappoint!  After receiving a quick appointment Allen came and professionally assessed and fixed the problem (snaking a sluggish laundry room drain).  I've had to address the problem many times before as it's an older house and usually dread the man-splain, plumber's crack (that can't be un-seen!) or padded final bill but none of that happened.  He was polite and informative and I learned about some up-keeping tips to keep the drain working better and thus needing less maintenance.  He even cleaned up a prior plumber's mess! Definitely would recommend Allen and Payless Rooter.

They were awesome! We had a leak under our kitchen sink and they were able to come out quickly and solve the problem. Everyone I talked to was super friendly and helpful. I love that they will come out FREE and give you a bid. All other plumbers I talked to were short and charged either $150+/hr or made you pay a fee just to have them bid the job. Payless came out free and had great rates. I will definitely use them again for any plumping and drainage issues. Thank you!!

If I could give 1,000,000 stars to Carlo and his company, Payless Rooter, then I would! I had hired another plumbing company to conduct a repair of my home sewer line. The owner of the other company did not have a plumbing license with the State of Colorado, and ended up creating more problems for me and my home than just a sewer line repair. I contacted Carlo, and he and his wonderful crew of men came to my home the very morning that I called to begin the sewer line repair and repair of the other problems that the other plumbing company caused me. After I contacted him, Carlo immediately requested the necessary permits for the plumbing work that needed to be completed for my home. His crew of men completed all of the necessary plumbing work as quickly as they could, and I was able to use my sinks, tubs, and toilets that very evening. Carlo and his crew did everything that they could to make me a very satisfied customer, at a very reasonable price. If you ever need a home sewer line repair, or a snake of a clogged drain, then please contact Carlo and Payless Rooter! They offer amazing customer service, and they are very skilled plumbers and workers!

This summer (2012) I had an emergency sewer line problem on a Friday.  Another well known company came out, charged us a fortune & said there was nothing they could do.  Payless came out within the hour, found BOTH problems and offered to get us a camera too.  They saved the day - gave us the information we needed, got here quickly, were professional and were a reasonable price.  I highly recommend them and I will use them again if the need arises.
