Perfect experience.  Mike was great, he did a complex install (sump pump)  the same day.  Fast, professional and friendly. Fair pricing - earned my business going forward!

Josh was extremely professional, kind and compassionate and we desperately needed that at this time.  Our father passed away the Sunday before and we just had his celebration of life the day before.  We are devastated by our loss and have done everything we can to help our mom.  She is so overwhelmed by maintaining her home without her husband.

Thank you for your compassion, kind professional care!

Kindest regards,

Laura Durie

I made an emergency appointment for a leaking drain pipe. They told me they would be at my house between 2 and 5, I made the appointment at 10:30am. They called me around 5:30 and said that they left a voicemail at 2:20 telling me that they couldn't come, but they DIDN'T leave a voice mail, they never called me until after my window had closed, and they contacted me through NONE of the other means that they notified me of my appointment, text and e-mail. Had I known, I would have hired another plumber.

But now YOU know in an emergency that you should definitely call another plumber.

They gouged me way over the value of replacing a sump pump, which I had to get done fast to sell my house. When I contacted them I got the runaround and nothing happened, No return phone calls as promised when I called the office. I would never recommend using them,

Our main pipeline in the basement concrete  wall had a pin hole that was leaking water down the wall. I called 6 different plumbing companies and only a few companies were willing to open up the concrete wall to access the leaky pipe. Kris came out and gave me a reasonable estimate and made sure to cover all areas to mitigate the dust so that it would not spread throughout the basement. My old copper pipes were dented and squished due to the weight of concrete but Kris was able to re-shape it to fit the new pipe. I was so happy to find someone who knew what they were doing and someone who was not going to overcharge me. Other plumbers wanted to demo my patio stampeded concrete to pull the old pipes out, and replace the whole pipeline with a new pipe, so I was really glad that Kris was willing to do what he did and also did a great job. Thank you!

I have had 2 other plumbing companies over to see my water heater. Darion was able to show me that he understood my problem and that he could take care of it! He replaced my water heater in record time. He was courteous, friendly, he cleaned up after himself.
I called at about 11-11:30, Darion was here at noon! This is a dependable company. I have lived here for many years. This is the first time I have wanted to use the same plumbing company again. But, I will remember them. I will remember Darion and his fine work! Thank You!

TLDR: Dishonest business, misdiagnosed my problem, tried to take advantage of me.

My home didn't have working AC, so we looked around for best-reviewed companies and picked this company for its high amount of 5 star ratings on google. Note: Yelp reviews are much lower. We did not receive professionality, transparency, or good value. We were taken advantage of.

They showed up when expected, and diagnosed our needs to include replacement of our full system -- including indoor evaporative coil and external condenser unit. The technician showed my partner a lot of numbers on an iPad and claimed that there was damage and leaking to both units. We asked on the phone and on emails for an invoice that included the diagnosis notes and the quote for all parts of the unit so we could make an educated decision. They, however, only responded with emailed offers for financing and completely disregarded our requests for information for several days. The only written information we had after almost a full week was a single invoice with a charge for $10,149 that only included a listing for the outdoor condenser unit (the invoice also stated that any additional charges and parts must be paid for without our approval if we approved the initial estimate). We didn't even get the initial invoice for the $49 diagnosis we had paid for. After sending those multiple emails, I decided to do some research on the parts costs and calling other companies to find out what costs might be for the same services. Nobody I spoke to could help me understand where the $10,149 could be justified, and I received offers for thousands less for the same work from some other local companies.

I called the company to try to get some clarity: I spoke on the phone with a receptionist who stated that she couldn't provide information for our services. I then called the manager, John, who decided to place blame on his technician, my partner, other companies, and made some mention of some new employee. I had to insist multiple times before he agreed to give me the invoice and diagnosis info. He insisted that they never give transparent quotes (though their Google ad states that they provide Upfront & Transparent Pricing Always) and they can't make any money if they lower their prices and/or make bargains with their customers. He used manipulative sales tactics and regularly disregarded my direct questions with gaslighting and condescending comments about how businesses work. I was very direct and patient, and he consistently emphasized that prices can't be changed and parts are not able to be changed. I told him I didn't see value in his estimate of services required, and I didn't feel comfortable with them performing services with the untrustworthy manner in which he was behaving. I asked for clarity on the limited, shoddy notes written for the diagnosis, and he gave me little context. He brought up my partner's 1 star review, and stated that he wants us to take it down because his managers are going to question him on it. I said no, due to the entire experience we've had. Natural consequences follow harmful behavior. He then offered to pay for a second opinion from another company, give me 10% off, and to provide a higher-rating condenser if we would take off the review. I told him I felt they deserved the reviews for an honest accounting of our experience, and I don't feel that I can trust their business on all accounts.

Thankfully, I happened to know some people with commercial HVAC experience who came out and gave us a second opinion. They found that there was a small leak in the evap coil and one incorrectly installed signal wire for the condenser. They fixed the leak, rewired the condenser, filled the system back up with refrigerant, and confirmed full operation. We now have fully working AC and only paid about $300 for the work.

Clearly we've been taken advantage of, and I feel certain that if I hadn't stood my ground and gotten a second opinion, we would have spent an unnecessarily massive amount of money.

I had a sump pump fail and flood my basement. Ben came out to replace my pump.....my concern was quality and eliminating the possibility of a future failure. Ben answered my questions and showed me the options I wanted to see (quality pump, battery backup pump, WiFi sensor and alarm). He replaced the pump, showed me that it was working, and was very knowledgeable and helpful. He also took care of a small issue I was having with my sink in the basement bar.

Totally unprofessional behavior.

Company was EXTREMELY responsive, the tech (Nolan) came the same day, listened to my story of woe (possible frozen pipe) and quickly determined that was NOT the issue (thank goodness). He determined I needed a new faucet, didn't try to upswell me or insist on installing himself, or perform a host of unnecessary diagnostic work just to drive up the cost. Very honest and friendly. Highly recommend.

Such a terrible company. They charged $400 for a drain cleaning despite the $93 advertisement, and when I asked why $300 extra dollars it was for the office managers salary.

So sad to see companies like this taking advantage of people, but more common than ever these days.

Beware!!  Avoid at all costs

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! There plumbers IRRESPONSIBLE ACTION COULD HAVE DAMAGE my house. I called them based on their advertising claim they are a locally owned company yet traveled over 40 miles from their office to do the work.  I needed a hose bib repaired and an outside gas grill line reduce to one connection instead of two the previous owners had. Their (Plumber?) worked on the hose bib for over 45 min and gave up never fixing it and during that time he never turned off the water to the house. As for the gas line, before he even started, he had to go to Ace HWD for parts. Upon returning he worked on the live gas line without turning it off.  Then I ask him why, he said he did not want to deal with re-lighting all the pilot lights. This so called (Plumber?) could have cause real damage to my house first with the water and then with a live natural gas line.  After nearly two hours on site the final the straw that broke the back was sales pitch for their services program and the final bill for his services.  I DO NOT and WOULD NOT recommend Jim Needham Plumbing LLC, and his plumbers for anything as they wave false flags and tarnish the trade of real professtional plumbers.

The folks charged me several times for a total of $3000 to maintain my furnace and blow out my 90 feet of pipes. These jobs toke a total of 2 hours, no 3 as they came out multiple times, and charged me $3000 total ripe off. And I had no choice because of continued water damage on my basement. They laughed and enjoyed taking advantage of a single mother, I hope no one else falls victim. Please do not use this company!!!!

Jose Rosales arrived on time and was polite, pleasant and personable. He completed the inspection timely and changed the filter. He educated me on the type of filter I would need to purchase in the future and how frequently they should be changed. At the end of the inspection he pointed out that a pipe to drain water in case of a major malfunction could possibly leak and damage the hvac system. He gave me an estimate. Because we are retired we will need to budget for this. He understood and didn't pressure me at all. We will get the extra work done in a couple of months. This is my third very positive experience with Jim Needham and am a very satisfied customer!

Needed a new hot water heater installed immediately and I called Jim Needham Plumbing and was taken care of by a great customer service rep who quickly got me scheduled for the same day. I received a text message from the installer, Ben, describing himself in detail prior to his arrival. I got a call from the customer service rep letting me know that Ben was dispatched
and on his way, along with a call from Ben to let me know his exact time to expect him. Ben was courteous and explained everything that he does on a replacement before he even started breaking down the costs so I knew how much it cost. Ben was quick and kept me updated on process and before I knew it, in less than two hours, he was done. Ben put everything back in place and even cleaned the laundry room better than before he arrived. He explained everything about the new heater, the warranty and gave his business card incase anything went wrong. He stayed to verify that there was no leaks and that everything was perfect, which it was! Great service from start to finish!

I can't say enough good things about Jim Needham plumbing. I have used them twice and been thrilled with them both times.

Most recently, I called after hours and someone picked up! They were at my house promptly at the scheduled time of 10am the next morning.

Their service is unbeatable. Their prices probably aren't the lowest around, but I will gladly pay for a reliable plumber with great customer service and high quality work.

They've got automated text message reminders, iPad-based documentation and billing, take and share pictures, use digital signatures... it's amazing to work with such a technologically advanced provider.

Special thanks to Nolan McMurry who helped me today.

We needed emergency service at a house we were house and pet sitting. Their response was quick, and they came just a few minutes after the promised window of time.  It's was professional, very friendly and very knowledgeable.  He diagnosed the problem in minutes, and proposed a very affordable fix.  He also explained how the problem might reoccur in the future, and provided several actions the home owner can take, including estimated costs, to ensure it doesn't reoccur in the future.

They are very proud of the work they do and talked us into paying 2x more than we needed for a simple water heater replacement. I feel taken advantage of and cannot afford to do business with this company again.
The technician did a good job (except for gouging the wall which I hope they'll fix), but was not helpful in helping us find an affordable fix.

Long time customer here...but  late one evening when my plumbing backed up and JN Plumbing didn't have any crews available, so I called another company. The other company created a mess in the next day And didnt solve the issue.   Jim Needham plumbing came out and corrected the issues left by the prior company for 25% less. The prior company was completely inept,  Lost their snake in the vent without being able to diagnose that he had never gone down the mainline, chose not to use the pipe clean-out that is on the mainline (never even asked if there was a clean out), never actually attempted to clear the blockage since they didn't know where the snake went and couldn't get a camera in the line,  and still expected me to pay the full price for doing nothing plus reimburse them $400 for the snake they lost and cut off without my permission. Jim Needham arrived promptly the next day, found the missing snake and removed it easily, put a camera down my pipe and cleared blockages, and reset the toilet that had been left unattached in my bathroom by the other company.

JN is not the least expensive company, but they are absolutely honest.  Randy and his partner determined that they did NOT have to dig up my pipes as the first company claimed, then they explained what they were seeing to the second crew, Tyson and Darion, who retrieved the snake (went the extra mile to do it), cleared the blockages, and reset the toilet that never should have been pulled in the first place.

In the end, their honesty and competence saved me thousands in unnecessary costs.  Worth every penny, and the other reviews that complain about pricing must not have a grasp on the going rates for plumbing work by professionals and the headaches it can save.

Rip off specialists.  When i called for service i asked what the charges will be, was told tech will provide charges and did not tell me about administrator charges of $200+ and $225 for a small valve i could have bought for $10.  Had i not been out of town i would not have agreed to these charges but my tenant did not know any better.   Would NEVER ever deal with this company again.  Now that i see all the reviews which all share the same complaint of over charging, i know better.  Would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

My sump pit overflowed and they sent a plumber out to give us a quote. She was very nice but quoted us $1,500-$2,300 to change our two pumps. I asked her why it was so much and she said it was because they use cast iron pumps. I went to Home Depot and bought two cast iron pumps for $300 total. A kind neighbor installed them in one hour for me. JNP tried to take $2,000/hour from me in labor. Wow. I was disappointed they were willing to take advantage of me because we were desperate. I hope they will rethink how they treat customers who are in need of urgent help.

Excellent service. When I first call Jim Needham Plumbing the person picked up the phone and said, hi, how can we make you happy today she already had, great salutation. I have a story but everyone has a story, Tyson was great and his support team were available to assistant via telephone. A diagnostic test revealed a perfectly good hot water heater (never before done by the several previous plumbers and three hot waters later). What was preventing me from having hot water for many years and several hot water heaters later? Birdies.

(Tyson communicated with me and his team ever step of way, informing me of his observations, cost, type of materials, what he needed to do. Good communications)

I had told every previous plumber before Tyson there was something in the pipes And NOT having even mentioned this to Tyson, this young man just started looking, listening, taking pictures, got on his latter took pictures and discoved a huge BIRDS NEST in one pipe (garage) and a smaller nest lodged further down a Z shape joint in the other pipe (inside house) that was preventing sufficient air flow, hence, no hot water. Birdies. I never mentioned this to Tyson. He also noticed the two pipes were exchanging airflow instead of emptying out in the air.

Tyson was patience, diligent, did not waste any time looking for the problem, gathering materials (purchased), and skillfully cutting, retrieving the nest, reconstructing and correcting the direction of pipes. He worked!!! Skillful, proficient, efficient, nice, good communicator, even my dogs liked him. Yep

He was early to job and great clean up. He also brought screen to cover the pipes to prevent any future problems (preventive maintenance). This young worked and I am so proud of him and this company for having solved this 20 years ongoing problem of not having consistent hot water. Thank you Tyson for taking the time to care. Thank you Jim Needham Plumbing. I highly recommend Jim Needham Plumbing

It is my first time using this company. The guy who came by is extremely professional and nice. He fixed the plumbing to clean out the clogging- at end of his service. He said your disposal is not working you will need to pay $499 (on top of $289 service). I declined.... When he left- I left the kitchen water running for a minute and my sink clogged again.?!

Huge fan of Jim Needham Plumbing. We had two toilets that needed repair, we had someone come out the next day. Great customer service, wore masks and covers on their shoes. No upselling. Simply asked what the issues were and worked quickly to resolve. Jim did come out personally when the issue wasn't fully resolved and even fixed the shower head and water pressure free of charge. Genuine, family owned company. Would recommend them 10x over and will only use them going forward!

We had a supply line leaking at a rental, called Needham on Saturday and was able to get them out within a few hours. Unlike many companies there was no minimum service charge for an estimate, which was good. Answering service called to give us a heads up that plumber would be there in half hour. Met the two plumbers that arrived outside and told them I'd stand by for an estimate (meanwhile another Needham truck with 2 more plumbers drove by). About 5 minutes later, lead plumber told me that it would be $450 to fix and that the water heater is 17 years old and needs replaced.  The heater is only 11 years old and is otherwise in good condition (I.e. no sediment upon draining). I protested and said Are you serious, for that? To which he responded - Well, there's a lot more to it than it looks like. I said no thanks and decided to tackle it myself. It literally took me 20 minutes to replace the part and another 25 to clean up and make sure the heater was working.  So, even with amateur me doing it - the effective rate would have been ~$10/minute. We got another estimate from a licensed master plumber for $140, but they couldn't come out for a few days and we didn't want our tenants to wait that long. Be cautious and get multiple estimates.

Amazing customer service from the first phone call to completion of the job! We suspected a leak in the master bathroom of our rental home because the kitchen ceiling directly below it had some bubbling. Called and a very friendly person (Dennis) scheduled us right away. They called our tenant right away too to select the time window for the service call. Ross the technician communicated well with me, and our tenant said he was fabulous. My only frustration is the $239 leak detection fee seems a bit steep. But Ross fixed the problem same day and hopefully we are good to go. He also recommended a restoration company to check for mold, which was a nice touch. Overall very pleased.

We just moved into a house that needed a sump pump replacement, so called jim Needham because they're local. Jimmy (Jim's son) was great. He answered all my questions, didn't mind me watching him work, and really went above and beyond after he finished the sump pump by helping me fix a leaky gas line in our kitchen and getting the pilot lit on our gas fireplace. He also helped clear a slow drain in our upstairs bathroom. I'd recommend Jim Needham to anyone who asks if I know a good plumber. Thanks again Jimmy!!
