Had an appointment last week from 12-2.  No call, no show.

Dwight called around 5 pm, apologized, will do a discount, etc...

Would rather have you show up for the appointment and pay full price, than a no show.  Or even call me when you are supposed to be there, and talk rescheduling.

Have used them twice on two different main sewer line back-ups.  Both times they were able to fit me in the day I called and they called ahead before they came, which is so key so you don't have to sit in front of your properties for four hours waiting.   The pricing is clear from the time you schedule the appt, and once they came they got to work right away and clearred the line without complaning about having to go down into the crawl space to do it.  That was refreshing because a lot of service people make a face at you when you tell them it's in the crawl space.  Have worked with Darryl twice and will definitely call them again.

I called Drain Genius on recommendation from my usual plumber, who said they'd be better suited to address a drain issue. Drain Genius was able to get there quickly and get the backed up laundry drain going again. There is potentially more work needed, but they did everything they could to help get things working and make sure we're starting with a clean slate for evaluation before jumping into anything too extensive/expensive.

I chose this company based on the positive reviews on yelp. I think a lot or all of these may be fake. I needed a section of 1/2 pipe replaced with 3/4 and some stuff done to a faucet outside. Dwight and another guy did not show up when they said they would and would not answer phone calls. They were well aware of the fact that I work night shift and can't stay awake all day waiting for them. After waiting up half the day for them, they finally show up and checked things out, said they needed to run to home depot, and would be back in 30 minutes. I waited around for 2 more hours for them to finally come back. They said they'd be back the next day at 8 am right after I got off work to finish up. I was utterly exhausted from the lack of sleep already and not too happy when they didn't show up the next morning. I called and called and finally got ahold of Dwight who had the nerve to complain to me about being up part of the night to complete an emergency job. He said they'd be at my house in about 30 minutes and I again reiterated the fact that I work nights and needed to sleep that day. When they hadn't showed up an hour later, I called and texted to let them know that we'd have to do it another day because I absolutely had to sleep before going back to work another night shift. I went to bed forgetting that I had left my door unlocked for them. I woke up to a huge man walking into my bedroom several hours later. Apparently, the plumbers who I told not to come that day showed up anway and wanted to use my bathroom but walked into the wrong door. As a single woman who lives alone, I was rather angry. Then, to top all of this off, it turns out they replaced my 1/2 pipe with 1/2 pipe completely defeating the purpose of doing the job at all. They then had the nerve to call and harass me to pay them after I'd had to call another plumber to do the job.

Most importantly, I want to mention that Dwight made a comment that gave me the impression he is not even an actual plumber. When they initally looked at the job, he said, We might have to get a plumber in here to fix this. I said, I thought you were a plumber. He gave some explanation about this not being the type of plumbing he normally does but that he thought he could handle it.

This is the first yelp review I have ever written based on the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Please think twice about the positive reviews. I think they are fakes.

Dwight and nick were so great, honest, and we found the problem. It's unfortunate, but Dwight offered us the help and time we need. Will use and refer him from now on.

We had a late night emergency, Dwight spent quite a bit of time with us on the phone trying to diagnose the problem, and came that same night and fixed the issue.  And, I got a bill for less than $200 which is about 1/3 of what our old company would have charged I am sure.

Booked an appointment for a sewer line inspection as I was doing a home inspection. Not only did they do a no-call and no-show, but when I called them to ask where they were they said they couldn't do it that day and offered $10 off the next service.

We just purchased a house (over a hundred years old) with updated plumbing.  After our washing machine drain backed up a couple weeks after moving in, we call these guys.  It turns out that the house flipper did a shoddy job of re-plumbing.  Their resident plumber was called in to re-route some complicated plumbing.  The whole while, they were very professional.  The completed job is very well done.  I couldn't be more pleased.

My wife and I recently acquired the services of Drain genius, and had a major tub valve explosion while taking a bath, which flooded the floor, the original plumbers who install the tub was no where to be found when we needed them. We then made a call to Drain Genius and Dwight and Nick came but were late and didn't have good communication. They kept hitting us up with more projects that weren't necessary, the problem was finally resolved after about 8 visits and hundreds of useless dollars spent! our toilets weren't sealed and we had another plumber take a look at our piping that Drain Genius did, they used shark bites and its supposedly only for emergency and temporary not a permanent solution. Now I have to get someone else to fix there job, time and money wasted. Huge disappointment

Called Drain Genius on Monday morning for an appointment for an annual rooter service on the main sewer line for our 90 year old house in NW Denver.  Appointment was set for 2-4 PM.  Darrell arrived on time with all of the tools needed for the job.  Darrell was very helpful in explaining the details of the job and provided some very good advice for working with our system (especially with the age of the house).  While previous scopes and rooting did not make it all the way into the main city line, Darrell promised that he would make it- and did.  100% satisfaction and great peace of mind.

This is the first and only negative review I've given- please read below and you'll understand.
-In 2015 Drain Genius did work on my sewer.  I selected them because they were cost effective (really wish I would have paid more to work with a better company as you can guess) and because they gave a 5 year warranty (they didn't live up to as you'll see.

-In Feb of 2018 I notified Drain Genius there was a problem.  After 1 month they responded and said they would fix it quickly

-They would go months at a time with no response, only to follow up with something like we'll get to you very soon

-In November of 2019 I posted a bad review and that was the only time they immediately responded.  They said if I took my review down they'd fix the problem right away.  I did, but.....

-Fast forward almost 2 years and the sewer is still not fixed.

-I've pretty much given up on the fix and going to have to pay another company to make the repair.  So the only goal of my review is as a word of warning so no one makes the same mistake I did

Our hot water stopped working and the pressure was very low.  We did a quick search on Yelp looking for the top rated plumbers in the Denver metro area. Drain Genius was one.  Dwight from Drain Genius answered and talked to my husband for a few minutes, and even gave him free unsolicited troubleshooting advice.

Unable to fix the problem himself, the next day my husband called the three companies back. One said they wouldn't be able to get a person to our house for 5 days.  The other company never even bothered to return his call.

Dwight, however, once again answered the call. Although he was busy for the entire day, he offered to squeeze us in between jobs.  After quickly assessing the problem based on my husband's quickfix attempts, he throughly explained that our hot water heater needed to be replaced.

That evening we bought a new 50 gallon unit from Home Depot, which Dwight picked up before closing and was at our house at 10pm. We got our new hot water heater professionally installed at a reasonable price.

We highly recommend Dwight and Drain Genius. They answer their calls and go above and beyond. Thanks to them, our family didn't have to go without hot water through the holiday weekend.

It's a shame there are only five stars - I would be happy to give these guys more. I have a 100 year old home in highlands and suffered a major plumbing crisis. Waste water was bubbling out of the ground and all I could think was I was watching mid 4 figures sitting there mocking me. I searched Yelp for help and came across Drain Genius and their phenomenal reviews. I emailed and they called back the next morning. That day they had already dug into the problem, and the next day the problem was solved. They turned a smelly pit of uncertainty into a solved problem, and six months later it is still fine. I recommend them unreservedly.

Had a back up in our main line and potential root issues with our pipes. We called these guys to come check it out after reading reviews on yelp. Well the reviews on here are completely accurate.

Dwight was extremely professional and knowledgable over the phone and sent one of his guys, Darrell, out to the house. He arrived within an hour of us calling and did a full assessment of what the problem could be. Dwight came shortly after just to check in and he too walked through all of the possibilities, what needed to be done immediately vs. what we could avoid with regular maintenance. Both he & Darrell were here for over 4 hours, walked us through what they found, and got everything up and running again. And they don't charge by the hour - they were just that thorough. What we thought were going to be major issues potentially costing thousands (as told to us by another plumber last year) were nothing we needed to worry about and Dwight was very upfront about what what we DIDN'T need to spend money on.  Shocking for a plumbing company who I feel like are always trying to upsell on things that are non issues.

As far as price, they were competitive with everyone I called - and they don't charge weekend fees which most plumbers do for Sat/Sun calls.

If you need a professional, dependable, plumber and don't want to get ripped off, call these guys. I will for sure be hiring them again for regular maintenance (as will our neighbor who met them while they were here).

I tend to be rather light-hearted and fun in my reviews. This one is a bit more serious in tone.

NOTE: If you have an urgent situation on your hands, you probably wouldn't encounter the following, as up charges etc. are expected and paid just to fix the problem asap. However, if you plan ahead for services with this company,  this review is for you.
------
Scheduling inefficiencies? Happens sometimes. Over an hour late technicians without notification? At least they showed up. Separate charges for cleaning AND scoping the line? Hmmmmm. Up charges for having to go through the toilet to reach the sewage line? Not mentioned up front. All this-and they haven't even started the service yet.

Before we even begin I request Marco, the technician, to call the office so I can verify service costs before I'm billed hundreds more than expected after services are rendered. Initially, Devan is pleasant and cordial. Now there is a much more defensive manner. After a difficult conversation, I request to speak with the owner. She transfers me to Dwight, who genuinely showed empathy for my concerns. Amiable and professional, he explains the process and all charges. I felt informed, we move forward, and the line is cleared and scoped-and Dwight waived the up charge for accessing through the toilet. I'm a happy customer.

Present for the entire service, I engage with Marco the technician as to why I'm having the services done, I'm selling my house in a couple of months, thought it would be a good idea to check and take care of anything before the inspection. He says, A few offsets, and small clay bits missing, but nothing I would worry about. For a 100 year old house the line looks good. Awesome. That's checked off the list.

Two months later, the house is listed and goes under contract and the buyer's agent calls Drain Genius to confirm the service. What's he told? Work needs to be done. Wha? I mean, wha? Incredulous, I'm shaking my head. Calling Dwight he renigs a bit saying,

If you were living in this house I'd tell you not to worry because these issues-especially under a yard-would not pose a problem until it breaks, and then we'll come out and take care of it for you. But since you're selling it, well, then work needs to be done.

Not hard to read between the lines here. Their integrity is questionable. But don't just take my word for it, Channel 4 ran this investigative report about two weeks after this happened.

Dwight and Shilo are amazing. They came to my rescue when a pipe burst at my house...they can over immediately and fixed the situation quickly. I appreciated how they were so prompt, extremely nice and respectful and I felt safe letting them into my home. It's hard to find trustworthy contractors/plumbers but I am so happy I found them, I'll never use another plumber (unless I move!). I highly recommend drain genius - made a bad experience not so terrible! Thank you Dwight.

The laundry room drain in my basement was backing up.

I searched Yelp, and chose Drain Genius because of their positive reviews.

Jay came by at the appointed time. I liked him right away. He promised me that when he left my drain would no longer be clogged. We ten tried a few things to determine what the problem was and determined that the line was clogged somewhere between my basement and the city sewer line. He sawed away at it for more than two hours - but when he was done it was cleared for a very reasonable price. (Later Dwight pointed out that these jobs can easily take two hours - expecially when it has never been done before)

The next day Dwight came by to scope the line. It was all cleared out -  but you could see where roots which Jay had sawed away would still grow back between the 2 foot clay pipes in my yard. To my surprise, rather than tell me I had to replace all the pipes, Dwight said that unless things got worse I could get by with one or two regular cleanings a year.

I felt like I was working with professional knowledgeable people and I would recommend them to you if you have similar problems!

Do not use these guys, they stole our $2,500 down payment and never showed up for the job. Prior to starting the sewer line repair, they requested half of the money upfront, about a month after cashing the original check, they gave us the run around about permitting. A month later they have not responded to any calls or text messages.

Very unprofessional. I called for same day services and spoke with Dwight. He said he would see if he could send someone out and would call me back. After almost two hours, I had to call him for an update. Then, he said someone would be there before 4pm. No one showed up by 4:30pm. I called him back and he never answered. I Do not recommend!

The first time we called, it was winter, and there was a storm. There were a lot of reschedules with a lot of no shows. We called about 6 times throughout the day to say, where are you now?, you said you would be here.
Finally after many hours Dwight showed up. He charged a couple hundred to fix the leak. Less than a year later the fix failed in the same place. He sent a guy out who wanted another couple hundred for the same job?! I was appalled that the work wasn't guaranteed for even a year.
The latest fix has held. I don't know why Dwight didn't fix it like this in the first place.  Seems like it was intentionally rigged to only hold for a short time?

If it is an emergency, call someone else!
The people at Drain Genius are pleasant, however it was difficult to lock them down. At first, they were very prompt and responsive. They sent a person out the next day and determined there was something blocking the pipes from the house to the street. Since it was blocked, they needed to come back later and bring someone with a camera. I called on a Monday morning for this and they said someone would come that day. After checking in all day, they told me at 6:30pm they would come tomorrow. He came with the scope and told me it is blocked, and someone will be calling me by the end of the day to follow up.
I waited all day, but no phone call. Wednesday I called and they told me they would be sending someone over, did not happen. Thursday I called and they said someone would be coming, did not happen. Friday my mother waited home all day because they guaranteed someone would be there by the end of the day. Keep in mind, we cannot flush, shower or have any water down any pipes at this time. After not hearing a word from them all day, I called to complain. I was told the owner would 100% be calling me back, it was just a busy day. I do not blame the dispatcher, she is only going off what the owner is telling her. BUT, the owner did not call, did not follow up. Only after we said we are done waiting to be able to use the plumbing did we get a return phone call. But by then, it was too late.
Over a week without plumbing is unacceptable. They need to figure out how to manage their time and stop giving empty promises. Clearly our business (even though we are talking thousands of dollars) was not important to them. Next time tell clients you are busy and stop wasting our time! For emergency work, I would call another plumber who can manage client expectations.

My bathrooms' drains became gradually clogged.  I had neglected engaging a plumber due to virus-related shutdowns.  When I finally contacted Drain Genius, they responded swiftly and arrived on site within two days.  Communication was clear and prices were transparent.  The tech resolved both drains quickly and provided tips to help avoid recurrence.  Dwight and his brother provided superlative service.  Those living downtown should especially consider them, since they are located on Acoma St. and not in some distant suburb.

I almost forgot to write a review about Drain Genius after my experience last week, but since it came to mind I made sure to hop on yelp.

I called these guys on a Sunday and they were able to come out Monday afternoon to clear up a plugged toilet that I had tried to auger myself, but didn't have a long enough device to clear the obstruction.  They were done in a reasonable amount of time and their price was not unbearable for this type of service.

One thing that struck me was that they notified us that there may be a more permanent obstruction in the line, but it wasn't irritating the flow of the system.  They went through the pricing and explained that they would do a scope and cleaning of the entire system, but did not hassle me to do it that day and said just to call when we felt ready to take care of it since it wasn't urgent.  I appreciate that lack of pressure in a company.

The nerd in me also appreciated that they do all their scheduling online and their invoicing is electronic.  I had an invoice for their services less than an hour after they left.  It is great to see companies adopt new technologies.

I was so hopeful going into this transaction. Based on the Yelp reviews I thought that there's no way I could have a bad experience using Drain Genius to solve my dishwasher woes. Unfortunately the experience was less than satisfactory. Don't get me wrong, the problem with the dishwasher was eventually resolved. My issues with Drain Genius are that they gave me a time frame (8AM-10AM), and then missed the window by over an hour. My technician didn't show up until about 11:15 - making me be not just a little late for work as I had hoped, but preventing me from being there for more than half of it.

And while the technician was nice, and solved the problem in a timely manner, I was a little disconcerted at first when he said that he didn't know anything about dishwashers, and he might have to call someone else to the site. It made me wonder why someone else wasn't sent in the first place - I certainly gave them enough information to figure out that the problem was with the dishwasher line not draining, not the kitchen sink, not the garbage disposal, and not any of the other pipes, lines, etc. What if he couldn't have fixed it? Would I have been charged still? I certainly would have wasted the remainder of my day waiting for another technician.

So basically, I had a great experience with the technician himself, who was nothing but professional, but a terrible experience with the company as a whole. Sorry, Drain Genius, I expected better service from you than I would get from my local cable provider.

We had a clog in our sewer line that was backing up into our bathtub, running out from underneath our toilet, and leaking into the basement. After checking Yelp for referrals, we called Drain Genius and the customer service representative indicated that we could expect a plumber between 8 and 10am the following morning.

As 10am approached, we received a call from customer service at Drain Genius explaining to us that the technician was delayed. The technician arrived at 11:00am and got right to work investigating the problem (he explained that the delay was due to a stubborn drain at his previous call). His work took about two and a half hours, and I was surprised to learn that in our case the cost for his work was under $200.

He was able to clear the clog with equipment he had with him. He was friendly, courteous, and took the time to give straightforward explanations about what he thought might be wrong and what he was attempting as a solution to that problem. When we discovered that there were roots in the main line to the house causing the clog, he suggested several sensible (and inexpensive) maintenance options.

I recommend Drain Genius and plan to call them to complete the routine maintenance for our drain when it is time.

The folks at Drain Genius are super stars. They are honest, fair, fast, knowledgeable and just really nice people. Their name is apt -- we had worked with a few other plumbers who couldn't solve our problem. Dwight and Mike worked with us to diagnose the trouble and come up with the most cost-effective and best solution to our problem. The work we had to have done involved digging up part of our backyard, replacing a sewage line, and putting it all back together. It wasn't cheap, but I'm confident that I got a fair price for the work. More importantly, I'm confident it was done really well. And when they were done, the yard looked as if they had never been there.

I noticed a back up at my basement drain, and called Drain Genius.  Dwight answered the phone and set up an appointment to fit into my schedule.  He and Shilo arrived on time and quickly cleaned the drain.  In addition, they put a camera down the line to check for breaks.  Luckily, there was no further problem.  They were professional, clean, and considerate.  You can be sure I will be calling them for annual checkups!  Their charge was quite reasonable and consistent with other drain work I have had completed in our home.  Thank you!!

We had a clogged bathtub, a leaky pipe in a wall in our closet, and both toilets were running constantly.  I checked Yelp and decided to go w/ Drain Genius after reading the reviews.  I spoke w/ Janis in the office who was wonderful and schedule a meeting with Dwight on 04/03 to go over my issues and make a plan of action.  They sent Jeremiah on 04/04 to unclog my bathtub, unfortunately, we'd done a number on the bathtub and the clog was quite defiant.  Dwight and Ignacio came back the morning of 04/05 for a new plan of action.  We needed to install a clean out for the bathtub to storm the clog from a different direction, to replace the leaking pipe in the closet (and check for any mold as a result of the leaking pipe), and would remove one toilet to determine why it kept running.  We planned work for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  I paid 60% of the total labor via check before any work began that weekend.  The guys showed up right on time Saturday and started working right away.  Dwight sets it up where the client can pay for the supplies while the guys are at the store, so they called from Home Depot for the payment which was convenient and saved $$.  The guys did a great job.  Both toilets were working after the visit on Saturday, but my bathtub as still clogged.  Sunday happened to be Easter, so nobody showed up.  I called, realized it was Easter, and thought I was a horrible person for expecting anyone to work on Easter.  On Monday I woke up expecting someone at 8AM, but nobody showed up so I called shortly after 8.  Nobody was scheduled to come over on Monday.  I had taken the day off so we could finish up the repairs and lost the day waiting for people to show up.  I spoke with Janis multiple times on Monday, and apologized for a near nuclear meltdown at one point from my frustrations.  They sent Jeremiah at 11:30 who realized the clean out was put on the wrong pipe.  Ignacio returned that afternoon after 3:30 to install the clean out in the right place for my bathtub.  Jeremiah returned 04/10 to unclog my drain and SUCCESS!!

This was my first time hiring a plumber for my home.  While it was a very stressful situation, it could have been much worse.  I was quoted 20hrs of labor for the repairs.  Dwight gave me a discount on the hourly cost and waived the trip fees b/c it would take multiple days and crews for the work. While he did explain that it would take an estimated 20hrs to complete the work, I was not aware that the hourly labor cost was per person that he sent over (he'd sent two people on Saturday and Monday).  I had six different people in my house over the course of the last week working on my plumbing and while I my job is flexible with me, I spent more time than I'd liked to have spent waiting on phone calls and someone to be assigned to me on 04/09 when it should have been planned and scheduled 04/05.

I had a small issue with the invoice, but spoke to Dwight and we came to a resolution as to the cost.  The pricing was fair and, besides the extra clean out in my house now, the work was done very well.

Overall, they really did a great job with the work.  The communication issues were a learning experience for me and I let them know the issues I had, so they've been given feedback.  I now know to ask more questions next time regarding the labor costs and ask for the scheduled appointments to be sent by email for confirmation.   My first plumber experience could have been so much worse, but Dwight is accommodating and Janis is a trooper.  Jeremiah was always smiling even when dealing with a fire breathing customer.  I plan on replacing my toilet and sink within the next year and will be adding a full bath to our basement when we finish it in the next few years.  Based on my first experience with Dwight and his crew, I plan on calling Drain Genius for those projects... as long as they don't mind the occasional fire breathing.

Avoid this company at all cost !
They were not able to fix our problem and the employee that they sent seemed clueless quite frankly. They still charged us 175$ for a clogged kitchen pipe that was not fixed. The owner promised to use their waterjet system to fix the pipe and then deduct the 175$ amount from that cost. However then they disappeared. The owner stopped answering our calls. We finally had to hire a professional company and they came promptly and immediately drained our pipe. We asked Dwight from Drain Genius to refund some of the 175$ cost, since this was the price that they were charging for actually fixing the pipe, which they did not. He has not done so, nor has he answered our calls. So please do make the same mistakes that we did: first, hire a professional company to do your work and by any means, do not pay them until you get your problem fixed, otherwise you will not see your money back. Seeing the other reviews now, we wish we would have done a better job researching them.

Read great reviews here about Drain Genius so called them about a clogged toilet line around 1 pm on Saturday and spoke with Dwight. He asked me to go online and send my contact info via their website and someone would call me right back. I sent it right away but an hour later no one had called.  I dialed again and spoke to Dwight who said my information had just come through. He would talk with his tech and someone would call me right back to let me know how soon they could be there.  An hour and half later no call back.  Stuff happens, so I called again, Dwight apologized and said they were having trouble reaching their tech.  I was next in line and Devon, the dispatcher, would call me back in 15 minutes.  That was about 4:30 pm. I had long since given up on them at 6:15 pm when Devon finally called. She was very professional and apologetic and had the same story about the tech.  She asked since it was late, would it be possible to schedule for first thing on Sunday.  They would waive the extra weekend charge and only charge me $96.98 for my inconvenience. Figured I would go with it as I still needed my toilet line cleared.  Devon said she would call me first thing on Sunday morning to let me know what time someone could come and clear the line.  It is now Monday morning and I am still waiting for that call from Devon.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me four or five times, I am just a shameful fool with a clogged toilet line.  Don't waste your time, call someone else.

We had a reoccuring back up in our basement coming from a newly installed bathroom.  After attempting others, we called Drain Genius. After some scoping and such, we found we needed to dig out some of the basement to remove and replace some pipe.  Not a cheap or quick fix.

They got to work within a few days and worked over the weekend to get it done.  There were a few miscommunications between the crews and the manager along the way, but overall they did good work in a reasonable time frame.

Dwight is very courteous, professional, and knowledgable.  Plus, he seems to treat the employees there well.  They did a great job getting it done right.

Great service even on a Saturday!  We had an issue Friday night too much down the drain...oops!  I put in my request that night and Dwight called the next morning.  He snaked the entire line and was out in less than an hour.  There is and additional $50 service fee for Saturdays but other places wouldn't even come out!  So well worth it!  We will be using them for our main line cleaning too!

We called Drain Genie for a backed up drain and they came the same day!!  Wonderful customer service.  Juan fixed the drain without a problem, explained everything, was so professional and nice!!  Next day we noticed there was a slow leak from the pipe ( faulty job from another plumber) and Juan came back and changed out the pipe without a second trip charge!  What an amazing company and customer service!!  Just had to write this review . . . Thank you, thank you!  I'm telling all my friends

Came out in about 4 hours. On a holiday weekend that's pretty impressive. They communicated very well via text which was great. They provided me a great price even though it was still a bit higher due to the holiday/weekend. I will definitely be calling these guys for anything plumbing related in the future. Brandon was our tech and did a great job.

We had a serious kitchen sink backup, nothing worked to unclog the drain.  We went on Yelp to find a plumber who did not require us to take a second mortgage out to pay the bill. After reviewing Yelp Reviews, we chose Drain Genius.

We received a reasonable bid for a few projects, but the kitchen drain required a bigger job, labor intensified, digging in the crawl space.  This second bid was again, reasonable compared to the work required.

The employees were courteous, professional, and they knew what they were doing!   They had all the necessary tools to perform plumbing jobs; they came out quickly;  the jobs were done within a very good time.

Dwight was professional in his quick quote, Mike was courteous, and Jason the plumber was friendly and knew his stuff!  Janice the office rep communicated well.

Basically, this company was reasonable for plumbing expenses.  We are happy with the experience and will use them again, or refer them.......    in Centennial.

Drain Genius was outstanding. We had a sewer line collapse that back up into our finished basement - yikes! Dwight and his team responded immediately, they did a great job, and worked with our insurance company to get the information they needed to cover the loss. I HIGHLY recommend Drain Genius for big jobs like ours, for hydro-jetting, and if you need to camera your sewer line.

Quick response to my initial request for service on a Thursday afternoon. Dwight arrived to my house on Thursday evening on what was described as a late/ emergency call. Once the job was assessed I was given a quote and was set up to be filtered into the schedule the following day for the final fix. Friday afternoon came and went without a call to be worked into the schedule. When I followed up with Dwight he stated he would not make it Friday and moved my appointment to Monday am between 8-9a. At 930a and no Dwight I called him once again just to go straight to a voicemail. I will not be using Drain Genius's services nor can I recommend them to others.

JJ saved the day! I had clogged my kitchen sink by overloading the garbage disposal. Every time I ran the laundry it would back up into the kitchen sink and the laundry wasn't draining properly. JJ snaked the drain, and once he cleared the clog, he waited for me to run a load of laundry to confirm the issue was resolved. I really appreciate JJ taking time out of his day to confirm the job was done properly.

Had emergency sewer back-up after hours on weekend.  Drain Genius answered promptly and came to my aid.  Were able to quickly handle a much more serious drain blockage than I expected and had the toilets working within 24 hours.  They could easily have tried to take advantage of my desperate situation and overcharge me but their prices were reasonable and fair.  Service was always polite and friendly.

I used these guys for maintenance about 3 years in a row and never had any problems. This last time however they couldn't seem to get it together and missed several appointments, then stopped calling entirely. I called Payless Rooter and they had a tech at my house to root the main line in A few hours. I will never use Drain Genius again.

Dwight and his team are true professionals. I had initially scheduled service for a clogged kitchen drain and disposal replacement w another company, but was disappointed when they were not able to make the appointment time. Also they had totally absurd pricing... Way to high.

So, somewhat frustrated I contacted Drain Genius via their website and Dwight immediately texted me that he'd be calling to schedule a time. He did first thing the next morning and was able to make it to my house within a couple hours.

Dwight and his assistant, Brandon, were great. Easy to work with and got everything done rather quickly without any issue.

From my experience of calling around and dealing w a few different plumbers, these guys are not only polite and professional, their pricing is on point and fair. They are my forever plumbers!!

We hired Drain Genius about 3 years ago to rooter our main sewer line. They did a great job and had great customer service.
Since then we have called them twice and used their online scheduling system, once last summer and once just about two weeks ago. Both times I needed a rooter done. They didn't respond to me either time...I even called to make sure they received my online request when I didn't hear from them, they said they did and they would get back to me later that day. I never heard back. I thought I'd give them a second chance recently to see if maybe the time over the summer was a communication fluke but now I don't think it was. I don't know if they've transferred management since the first time with the great service but I'll have to take my needs elsewhere.

A backed up drain in the basement was causing my Dad some frustration and he was content to pull out the yellow pages and play plumber roulette. I suggested we use Yelp and find a highly rated plumber. Unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to the reviews.

The entire experience was unpleasant, but our primary issue is that we found their lack of communication and professionalism inadequate.

The technician showed up late and unprepared to our morning appt. After abruptly leaving and promising to return 45 min later he never showed. We called and left another message. The dispatcher returned the call an hour or so later to tell us he wouldn't be back until the evening. After another no show we called to cancel the appt (an unpleasant call which only served to underscore the lack of professionalism.)

Providing timely communication, ditching the answering machine and staffing the phones and providing a courtesy call when the technician is going to be late would all go a long way in alleviating frustration.

In the end we went with a competitor who showed up 45 min after we called and had the problem solved in 15 min.

Hands down the greatest service I've ever experienced!  Overly professional, friendly and convenient business practices made the whole situation of a broken toilet actually enjoyable.  Local, business owner Dwight and is brother DJ helped out right away, quickly, more than reasonably price (they should charge more) - I've already recommended to friends and family.  Also, if supporting a good and solid Colorado business is important to you, I highly recommend giving Drain Genius your business.

Dwight, Janis and the Drain Genius team were great to work with. They have great customer service and not only were they incredibly accommodating, but also completed the work quickly and made sure we were happy with everything that was done. And they offered us a competitive price for the work we needed to be done (a main water line replacement) and a great guaranty for their services to boot. A great experience overall.

Do not trust this company!  We had a backed up pipe and drain overflow in our basement.  Drain Genius snaked the pipe, charged $160, said the problem was fixed and was on their way.  The next day it overflowed again, so we called them out to find out what they failed to find the first time.  They scoped the pipe, told us we had a belly, and charged another $160.  The didn't leave a DVD of the scope, tell us where the belly was located, or identify where the pipes ran in our basement.  When we asked for the DVD to show our contractor, they had to come BACK out and scope it again (telling me they didn't really do it in the first place).  When we watched the scope with our contractor it was fussy and blurred and we basically couldn't see anything.  My contractor asked that they come back when he is here in order to get accurate information about the problem and the work needed to be done.  On their appointment day, they showed up over an hour late and missed their meeting with him.

Long story short.  Manny (the plumber from Drain Genius) told me that the whole entire pipe had a belly and we would need to replace 17 feet of pipe.  He told me this using a scope that was unreadable and unclear.  He also said that the pipe ran under the furnace and we would need to move it to dig out the concrete under the pipe.  We had two other plumbing companies give a second opinion, and both said the the information we got from Drain Genius was completely inaccurate and bogus.  Our pipes are made out of cast iron and have no belly whatsoever.  The scope by the other two companies was crystal clear and we watched them side by side to see the difference.  The scope make by Drain Genius was so poor in comparison with the other two, it was unbelievable!  In addition, Manny was five feet off with his markings of where the drain ran.

We were shocked that a company could give such inaccurate information and be so incredibly unethical.  Fortunately, we got a second opinions that ended up saving us thousands of dollars!

Save yourself a headache and go with a more reputable company.

I have used Drain Genius a few times.  I call them every year or so to have the drain from my kitchen and laundry room snaked.  This year we decided to have the line Hydro-jetted, as it hasn't been done since we have owned the house (13 years). I always find them very professional, affordable and they leave the work area clean and smelling pretty.  I recommend them whenever anyone ask to have a line cleaned out.

Unfortunately, I had a sewer line back-up Friday morning - and I was panicked because I knew I needed it fixed before the weekend AND I didn't want to pay any emergency fees.

I called Drain Genius and Dwight assured me right away that they could have someone come out and clear it.  When I talked to him next, he confirmed that someone would be at my place between 2-3.

At 2:55, Russ showed up and got to work.  He cleaned the line (of roots, debris, etc.) and then scoped it to show me that he got to the city tap and everything was cleared.

I felt much better knowing that there was proof that my issue was taken care of.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Drain Genius (and Russ) to anyone finding themselves in a similar situation.  The scoping and cleaning was $175 and they do charge an extra $25 if they have to pull a toilet to go down the sewer line (I didn't have a drain they could go through any other way).  AND if you click through to their website, you get to use a coupon there which brought my total down to $190.

Please exercise EXTREME CAUTION if you are going to try to enlist the services of Dwight Sweeney and his company, Drain Genius. Dwight does NOT have a plumbing license with the State of Colorado; therefore, he cannot request permits to conduct plumbing work. You can verify his lack of a plumbing license by entering his name in the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies website, colorado.gov/pacific/dor…, Plumbers, Verify License. While he may have received 5 stars by other individuals on this Yelp site for plumbing work that he has performed, he has an F rating with the Denver, CO, Better Business Bureau, which you can verify here: bbb.org/denver/business-…. I hired Dwight and his company Drain Genius to repair my home sewer line. Without going into detail, Dwight and his company created more problems for me and my home than just having to have my sewer line repaired. Thank goodness I paid for his plumbing services with my PayPal account. When Dwight did not repair my sewer line according to code, and I had to contact another plumbing company to repair Dwight's work, I filed a complaint against Dwight with PayPal. PayPal conducted an investigation, and refunded my money in full because PayPal found that Dwight did not and could not provide the plumbing service that he claimed and advertised that he could. Please look elsewhere for a licensed plumber who can request the necessary permits and conduct plumbing repairs or upgrades according to code.

They were really nice.  They seemingly wanted to help.  The owner, Dwight, was at my house many times and seemed to genuinely care.  When it came to the end of the job, after $7000, they did not complete the work nor haul off the spoils.  3yds of dirt, concrete and debris were left in my alley, blocking my garage door.  I paid them in full with a promise from the owner, Dwight, that the mess would be promptly removed.  After 6 calls to their office, each with an assurance that someone would be there tomorrow to take care of the mess, nothing was ever done.  I had to clean it up and haul it myself.  I wouldn't go so far as to say they are crooks, but I will never, ever use them again!  Ever!  Ever!  Ever!  Point taken?

Of course my toilet backed up on a Sunday. I looked on Yelp and found Dwight at drain genius. I called and he answered promptly.  He sent his son Brandon out on the call a few hours later. I was very pleased and will use them again.

So we are planning to go on Christmas vacation for two weeks and I wake up to find water on the basement floor.  Sewer line backup.  I called 8 firms -- the only one that answered their phone was Drain Genius.  Two firms that did call back weren't able to snake the sewer line, so they referred me to third parties.  Anyway, Brandon showed up on time and quickly cleared out the roots from our sewer line.  Prices are very reasonable, and they don't make a hard sell for the camera scope.  He also quickly fixed another pipe that was leaking.  Recommend Drain Genius highly.

I found Drain Genius on Yelp and called because they received such great reviews. The woman who answered the phone was nice, and she helped me to set up an appointment for noon. Around 12:35 I called the office because nobody had arrived. I told them I was waiting, they said that they forgot to tell me that there is a two hour service window and that it would be between 12 and 2pm. Great! Not at problem. However, she proceeded to tell me that they were squeezing me in and wondered if they could move it to the next day. I told her that, unfortunately, I was unavailable the next day. She said, in that case, they could not come. Drain Genius should not make appointments that they cannot keep. It is unprofessional and, frankly, a waste of my time.

We have a basement floor drain that needs cleaning periodically.  It started backing up this week, we usually clean it ourselves, but had no time to do it on our own.  Called these guys, they came before we went to work (how nice is THAT?) and were in and out in a flash.  Great service, great price, even gave us some tips on how to keep the drain clear so we wouldn't have to do it as often.  And honestly after having them do it so fast, I can't imagine my fiance and I will give up another evening to do it on our own again!!  Thank you, Dwight!  :)

I had two very polar experiences today with drain cleaning and I'm happy to say that Drain Genius was the extremely positive one. I had used Drain Genius a couple years back for the same problem I had with a clogged laundry line backing up into the bathroom shower but could not remember the business when I made my first appointment, so instead I went on Google and made a reservation with one of the companies that paid to be at the top of the search engine - what a mistake that was.

Not only was the technician from Rescue Rooter late but he didn't have the common decency to shut my back gate so my dog got out when he came in. They tried to charge me 2 times what Drain Genius cost by layering the costs dependent on the location of the pipe and the materials involved. I knew I hadn't paid that much the first time so I sure wasn't going to be doing that this time around so I dug through my old checkbooks and found Drain Genius.

I called them around 4 and they were able to get someone over in 2 hours for no extra charge! It was a breath of fresh air when Jay came (literally - he smelled nice). My dog hated the other guy but took a liking to him. And not only was he professional but he diagnosed and fixed the problem within 45 minutes. The first time took significantly longer and there was a flushing process involved but Jay was able to just scope and remove the blockage this time around - definitely a genius!

The only con is that I didn't get a receipt for the work done either time so I'm not sure what the difference between the services were for getting charged the same price. But as far as service goes - they were prompt, friendly, and efficient so I would highly recommend them to anyone needing drain services!

And stay far far away from Rescue Rooter!

I had Drain Genius come out and handle a problem with my basement backing up about a year ago when I purchased my home. I was very pleased with the service and price and they explained the problem and what options I had to avoid it in the future, which I did appreciate their honesty. Recently I wanted them to come out and follow up on the issues I had last year to make sure it wasn't going to be an ongoing problem. Darrell came out and was very personable and helpful, he was honest and didn't try to upsell me on any service or product I didn't need. I will continue to use this company for any plumbing services I may need.

The previous reviews were right, excellent service.

I filled out the online form and received a call back within the hour. They were even able to squeeze me in the same day. I was given a full breakdown of what the problem was, what they were going to do to alleviate it and other solutions I could explore down the road.

5 star experience and would definitely call on them again if the need arose. Most grateful for the preventative measures they informed me of to keep the pipes clean and running smooth.

Unfortunately the great reviews about this company make me wonder if they are made up at the request of someone in the company!Who gets either 5 stars or 1 star from almost everyone? My experience is similar to almost all of the 1 star ones!
The first time they were called they showed up on that day however the young man they sent seemed pretty unskillful and really young-no mentor with him.I should back-up and say my problem was the washer was flowing onto the laundry room floor on the rinse cycle and then the kitchen drains clogged up as well.Toilets were fine except that they bubbled and emptied when the washer was overflowing in the laundry room. After taking quite a while to assess the situation he took the commode off and used some machinery for about 45 minutes ,then said he would return tomorrow with someone else because it was a 2 man job.The problem appeared to be fixed  the second trip however the 2nd load of clothes I washed again had the same problem(thurs eve).On Friday morning I called and got a human being who stated that the schedule was busy and someone else would contact me about when they would come.Waited all day-no one called,no one came!Monday morning I began calling first thing and made numerous calls throughout the day with never anything but an answering machine stating someone would return my call within 30 minutes.I also went to their website and filled in a request with no response to that either.Today I'm still trying to get a response with still none.
I would beware of all the 5 star reviews on this company-my experience seems way to far from that.I'm not upset about needing to return for the same problem but that they seem to have dropped off the face of the earth!!

Found this group on Yelp and they were great!  You can book your appointment online and they made it out to my house in less than 24 hours.  Dwight from Drain Genius called to talk to me all about the plumbing issues I was having and told me almost exactly what time the contractor would arrive (no waiting around the house for a 4 hour estimated time frame woo hoo)!  The plumber assessed the situation and put me on the phone with Dwight to discuss all repairs and the cost estimate.  Then, the contractor went to Home Depot FOR ME and purchased everything we needed (he matched the finish to our existing faucets perfectly)!  They got Home Depot on the phone with me and took my credit card information over the phone (so you know exactly what the parts cost...no markup from Drain Genius whatsoever).  In a jiffy...the contractor was back and fixed everything.  Before he left, he got Dwight back on the phone to make sure I was satisfied and to have me submit payment via credit card over the phone.  It was a breeze!  Thanks Drain Genius!!!!!

I called this place b/c I thought I would need a toilet replaced, due to a hairline crack on the tank.  I spoke to Dwight.  Instead of agreeing with me, he suggested that I try some Flex Seal tape on the inside of the tank, which is $14 at Home Depot.  I tried it and it worked.  Saved me a $200 labor call plus the cost of new toilet.  So roughly $400.  It was much appreciated and a good way to gain a new customer, when I actually do have plumbing work.  Thanks!

My hot water heater started leaking/breaking at 11pm the night before Easter.  I called a big name plumbing co first and they said they could get someone out the next morning but could not help me walk through any temp fixes over the phone.  So, I called Drain Genius.  Dwight answered right away and said he could be over in the morning and then walked me through turning off the water to the heater (I'm sure I should already know how to do that :-S).  Dwight was over the next morning (Easter morning) turned off the water at the street (my house doesn't have a way to shut it off inside), we picked out a new model on the Home Depot site and he went and picked it up and had it all installed and working by mid-afternoon!  Pricing was similar to what I'd seen online, no surprises for cost.  Dwight is super nice, thorough, answers all questions.

Only thing I'd have preferred was clearer communication on arrival times/issues picking up the water heater.  But that's it!

Overall quite happy with the service.

I needed to get roots cut out of my main line and get a clean out installed outside the house. Dwight and co found a creative way to install the clean out and answered all of my questions. I also was really happy with the price.

I'm giving four stars instead of five because they initially gave me a 2 hour service window and missed that by 45 minutes. Not a big deal as I work from home but I actually did move a few things around to be available during my initial timeslot.

Save yourself some time and frustration and call someone else.  After not showing up for the estimate I reluctantly took Dwight's call as he was persistent.  I set another appointment to locate my sewer line for repair.

This time they were late, broke my toilet, and left the house a mess.  When I called the guys to return, they were nice enough but I could tell it was a hardship for them to return.  So I repaired it myself.

Dwight never provided an estimate so I hired another company.  As it turned out, the locate was off,  so I had to hire another company to do the locate.

All in all a waste of time.  Call someone else.

I'm staying with my aunt who is extremely particular so I was a bit nervous about finding someone good, but she was happy with the service, which says a lot! Will definitely be referring The Drain Genius to friends and family looking for a plumber. And glad to now have someone for my own renovation that is under way! Thx!

What a great local business! They where very professional on the phone and was very knowledgeable about my needs! I set up an appt. to get my my sewer serviced and scoped. They where able to make it the next day.  The price was right and I couldn't be more happier. I plan on using drain genius as my go to. They also fix drains. I will be setting up another appt. To take care of these old pipes. Thank you for you help!

I had my sewer replaced in April. It was estimated to take 3 to 5 days and ended up taking 35! Weeks on end passed where Dwight's machinery was still in my yard along with a huge ditch and no one there working on it. In the process, Dwight also destroyed much of my neighbor's yard. It is now over 4 months later and the plants and work in the neighbor's yard is still not complete. Dwight definitely worked very hard on my sewer and is attentive to detail, but not at all timely and did not hold true to our contract of replacing the neighbor's yard as it was before the project began. He made this process extremely stressful and long for both me and my neighbor. I would warn you to be very careful in writing the terms of the contract, including timeline.
As I did appreciate all of Dwight's hard work during this project and concern for my approval of his work, I'll remove this review when he completes the remaining contract with my neighbor. But for now, I feel that one star is a generous review.

Dwight was incredibly helpful in our plumbing ordeal. We had a burping toilet that eventually led to the discovery of a sewer line that had two bellies (one of which was 12 ft long) and a break. Essentially, it was a disaster and every homeowner's nightmare. We had to replace the entire sewer line and reroute it around the detached garage in our backyard. His team did a great job with the excavation and tremendous work cleaning up.

Dwight was knowledgeable, personable, and made himself available on the weekends.  I appreciated Dwight's professionalism. He went out of his way to help us from working late to fixing a kitchen pipe (that was also a problem). Its hard to find someone who will tell it to you straight and not exaggerate a situation.I recommend giving Dwight a call!

Garbage disposal jammed up. Called to have a tech out to help and instead they saved me the money and trip by giving me instructions to try a couple easy fixes! It worked and my disposal is working again. Quick responses and an honest business. Much appreciated. Would recommend!

Drain Genius was originally on my PASS list due to no-showing my appointment on a Friday after attempting to get in touch with them several times to find out what happened to my appointment.  The owner called me today (Monday) and explained what happened and offered to come out right away to fix the problem, which they did. I was wrong about them in my original post and want to thank them for a job well done! Hopefully they will fix their scheduling system so they will continue to be 5 stars.

We had the main drain in our new house backing up on us that we weren't able to do laundry and with the laundry backing up we need help as soon as possible. I called these guys up and ask if they could possibly do it the same day. They didn't see a problem and said to go on their website to make an appointment. I did it and didn't hear anything back for about an hour or so. They call us up said they are 15mins away and if now would be a good time to come by. Not only were they quick, but let us know some issues we could have in the future with out proper maintenance, as well as how to maintain it for some years till we need to do a major drain project. Being first time homebuyers nothing is helpful then letting us know upkeep and what to expect for the future; as well as not taking advantage of our ignorance and telling us you need to do this major drain project and it with cost some thousands dollars. Also they were so quick to take the payment and email me a receipt in minutes from their ipad. They were professional, fast, and so easy to work with, I would use them again and recommend them in a heartbeat! :)

I called Drain Genius because of the great Yelp reviews (and the fact that they were one of the few places open at 6:00 pm when a stream of water started dripping out of my dining room ceiling). Dwight took the time to listen to my panicked account of what was happening and answered all of the questions I had. He was at my place within 45 minutes (in traffic) to asses the situation and his techs were here shortly thereafter.

They took a very conservative approach and snaked out my shower drain (which was pretty heavily clogged) and re-caulked the seal in the drain. As a new homeowner of a very old house, this experience was everything I could have asked for. The price was very reasonable and matched precisely what he told me it would on the phone. I would highly recommend Drain Genius and they will be my go to plumbers going forward.

I had a backed up main sewer line and these guys were able to fix it quickly within 6 hours of me calling them.  Benny was very friendly and efficient.  The wanted me to use their website to schedule the appt online and although I am usually a fan of website based service I found their contact form to be a little confusing but I filled it out as best as possible and they did get back to me quickly.  Overall was very happy to be able to use water in my home again, flushing toilets is important.

Like others, it's a shock when you see black water bubbling up from your basement floor drains, and especially for me because I have a brand new sewer line! The company that installed my sewer line wasn't open on Sundays so I found Drain Genius on Yelp. Dwight arrived in less than two hours and snaked the drains. Still not sure what caused the problem was but it is fixed. And the price was very reasonable for a Sunday emergency call. I will definitely call Drain Genius again when I need help!

We had a main line backup, of course it happened on a Saturday night. Sunday morning we called Drain Genius, and by noon our lines had been cleared by Anthony.  They came very quickly and did the job right the first time; and I was on a plane for a business trip Sunday afternoon as planned.  Thanks everyone who provided great reviews! I definitely recommend Drain Genius as well!

Although Drain Genius was running a little behind in their schedule, when they did arrive, they were thorough and professional. I had some mysterious water seeping in from the floor of the garage. The plumber recreated what he thought might be the cause of the problem by turning on the water in all showers in my house, waited, tried the washing machine and toilets, but could not find the problem. Finally, it was determined that the water was coming from under ground and all I was charged was the trip fee of $96.

When we bought our house, the previous owners used Drain Genius to clean the pipes and do a sewer scope. Flash forward 4 years later and we had a clogged drain at 8 PM over the summer. We called Drain Genius and they kept us up to date via text what time the tech (Dwight) was coming out to unclog our pipes. Dwight showed up about 90 minutes after we called. He cleaned the clog as quickly as possible despite having to go to our basement bathroom toilet. Will definitely use them again.

We contacted Drain Genius because our basement drain was clogged, and we wanted the combined roto-root-and-scope.  Contacted them 11/19, scheduled service for morning of 11/20.  Brandon shows up within the 2-hour window and completes the unclogging well, but Dwight (the scope guy) doesn't come.  Meanwhile, our toilet is disconnected (they used the toilet line to unclog the main line, and Brandon left the toilet disconnected so Dwight could run the scope through it).  Dwight texts us the next morning and says he will be by between 10 - 10:30.  I say great, then don't hear or see him that day.  My husband tries to get them to come a time or two over the next week, and gets more empty promises, or just ignored calls.  11 days later, we do have an unclogged drain (for which I am relieved), but the scope never happened, and our toilet is still dismantled in our basement.  Will not use them again.

Thankful for Dwight and Drain Genius!  It's no fun starting your thanksgiving morning with a clogged drain...with company coming and a big meal to prepare. I discovered a late night back-up of water in the basement drain and scrambled for the number of a trusted rooter. I turned to Yelp as usual and found Drain Genius.

Spoiler alert: the 5-star rating is well deserved.

I called at about 9:45 pm for a early am appointment and a real live person answered the phone, set up the appointment, gave me the full price of all the services to be done over the phone (there were NO surprises on the cost) and gave me some sound advice to keep the water at bay.

Dwight showed up in the time frame promised and texted to let me know he was on the way.  He got set up in the basement bathroom, placed a brand new cutting blade on the rooter and cleared out the pipes. He also did a sewer scope and showed me where the problem areas are for future reference and piece of mind.  It looks like I'll have some semi-major repairs in the next 3-5 years but I can keep those off for a while with proper maintenance.

Overall, they did a great job and at a very fair price. The service was prompt and very courteous. They cleaned up very well and made sure to answer all of my questions.  I will be using them again in the spring to keep the roots out of my line and in the future for all my drain needs. Ours is an old house, I'll need a lot of work down the road and Drain Genius has earned that business.

I had Dwight et al out for a clogged kitchen sink and to proactively work the main sewer line.  His snaking crew came out twice before we had to try to hydrojet the line which was full of old grease.   Frankly everyone was nice and polite but didn't evoke that much confidence.  The snaking crew had problems from the start.  I felt like they were rather green but like I said friendly and polite.

I didn't mention it but they did track some sludge around my basement and steps on the 2nd visit.  Old carpet sure...but left a bit of a clean up for me.  Had to use my old rags to clean up the trap they entered on the 3rd visit for hydrojet'ing.  Nick left my kitchen trap covered in a mess and even noted it to me...but didn't remember to clean it.  Prior to getting the kitchen opened up they moved the big powered snake up and down the steps several times without it being used.  They also put the powered snake on the roof before locating the cleanup trap for the kitchen sink which was in the basement.  They once again never used the roof vent.

Dwight was also polite to my face but honestly you're only as good as your word and this is why I'm downgrading my rating.  Sure he got the kitchen opened up with the hydrojet.  However, his crew was 30 minutes late the first time on a several hour window.  The 2nd visit they didn't call and just showed up an hour late.   Dwight did hydrojet our kitchen drain a day early than expected but they never sent out the crew later that day that he promised me to my face.   He did however cash my check on time!

To his credit I wasn't charged for anything until the kitchen was running.  However I paid for the hydrojet and was told the main line would still be snaked included in the price I paid.  That main line snaking never happened and I have also not heard back from them in over a week.

I have no plans to bring them back in for that main line snaking   I expect people to show up on time and call if not.  That didn't happen.  Sure the kitchen drain works now but I didn't get the service i was promised.  I also have no invoice of anything.  This is all despite the fact I was requested to make appointments online through a scheduling tool requiring extra work on my part.  I honestly fail to see how that helped with anything as I had to do all the follow-up and wait around guessing when people were late!

I wish I had better things to say but that's how I score it.

My basement is rented out to a gal who has a weekend guest from out of town. Last night she let me know she was experiencing plumbing problems, so I wanted to get things fixed for them ASAP. I checked Yelp for recommendations, then called Drain Genius this morning (Saturday) at 9:00. Dwight answered and said he could send someone that afternoon. He later texted to ask if 12:30-1:00 worked--it did--and he sent Brandon, who showed up on time. I liked Brandon from the start. I found him friendly, respectful, knowledgable, and trustworthy. He inspected the problem (basement toilet wasn't flushing; toilet bubbled when the shower was on & the shower wasn't draining), suspected a blockage in the mainline, and gave me an estimate. It was a little high, as I requested a weekend call, and because they had to remove my toilet (my crawlspace access was too small). However, I was told I could remove the toilet myself and save a little $, if desired. Anyway, Brandon went to work, and discovered a blockage within the first 5-10 feet, which was removed. He then checked the line 100 feet out (well into the street) to ensure no other blockages existed. Afterward he answered several questions for me (I am a first-time homeowner & a complete novice when it comes to plumbing issues), and he thanked me for my business.

Although plumbing issues aren't pleasant to deal with, I was pleased with my Drain Genius experience--their timeliness, service quality, and results. I am happy to recommend Drain Genius to my neighbors in the Englewood area, or other Denver metro folks in need of quality plumbing services.

Thanks guys & Brandon in particular!

We called Drain Genius to snake our main line. I was pleased when I first spoke to Dwight on the phone. I explained our issue and he explained what he thought would work best for us. Dwight quoted me $40 for toilet removal, $97 for snaking the main line through our downstairs toilet, and $75 for snaking an additional line for our kitchen & laundry. We scheduled an appointment for a Thurs. evening so my husband could be home at the time. Unfortunately, the evening of our appointment, we waited & waited for someone to show up and a little over a half hour after our scheduled appointment time, we called wondering what had happened. Dwight told us that the original tech that was supposed to come out got held up, but they could still come by in a couple of hours. We explained that we had plans that night & were planning on leaving soon, so later that night wouldn't work. We rescheduled for the next morning (when my husband had to be at work). The tech showed up & was friendly at first. I explained what was happening and he got to work. I was expecting him to do the things that Dwight & I had discussed over the phone, but that didn't happen. The tech didn't explain to me what he was doing or what it would cost before he started working. He started in our upstairs bathtub (which was never a problem) and used a plastic hair catcher on the drain. We have one of these things and use it when the drain gets clogged, but it wasn't an issue that we wanted them to work on. After he was done upstairs, he went in under our kitchen sink with a snake. We've lived in our home for about 5 years & have had a few different companies come out to work on the plumbing - every other company has gone through our pipes in the laundry room to unclog the drain, because that's where it all builds up. I mentioned this to the technician, but he tried anyway. I cleared all of the items from below our sink in the kitchen & he started using the snake. To his surprise, he was unable to clear the drain from there - like I had already mentioned. He then went downstairs into our laundry room in the basement. He moved the washer and dryer to get to our pipes. He did not come prepared, because he had asked me to use our tools to disconnect the pipes. He snaked the pipe & it cleared. He then used our tools again to reconnect the pipes, but did not move the washer or dryer back to their original place & left a nasty black sludge on the walls and counters in our basement near the pipes. While he was downstairs in our basement, he pointed to the heat exhaust pipe that goes from our furnace to the roof of the house and mentioned to me that the pipe was our plumbing pipes. I knew that couldn't be right, so I said, Doesn't that go into the furnace? and he answered, How do you think you get hot water? Our hot water heater is also downstairs in our basement, next to our furnace. When he was done with the drain in the basement, he put the snake on our carpet, which left a wet spot for several hours. The tech then went into our downstairs bathroom & used an auger on our toilet - this was something else that we didn't ask for. I had mentioned getting the toilet removed to snake the main line, but that was never done. He packed up his equipment and came back inside to get paid. I expected to pay the $212 I was quoted, but asked about the price because the toilet was never removed and the main line was never snaked. He started arguing with me and called Dwight to have him argue with me over the phone too. I ended up paying $172 cash ($97 for the kitchen/laundry line and $75 for the upstairs shower line-which I never asked for). After he left, I looked around and realized that he left a huge mess - a scratch in the paint on my kitchen cabinets, black sludge on the cabinets and counter tops, and to top it off, the kitchen line he used the snake on (again, which I didn't want him doing) was now leaking! My husband called Dwight that night and explained that we were unhappy with the service we got and the things we wanted done, didn't even get done! Dwight said he would call back to schedule to send someone out to finish the job at no cost. We were happy with that, so we waited for about 2 weeks for a phone call, but never got one. We called Dwight back and he said that all of his techs own their own equipment and that the only one with working equipment was the same one that came out previously. We declined because we were hoping they'd send someone with a little more knowledge about plumbing. Dwight then offered to refund our money, which we accepted, so we could quickly have another company come out and finish the job we wanted done. Dwight said he'd be sending out a check within a week. We waited about 3 more weeks without receiving our refund and called Dwight again. He said he would look into for us and if we didn't get it by that Friday, to let him know. Long story short, we never got our refund and now Dwight won't return our phone call.

Would give zero stars if I could based on customer service, called and we scheduled for a plumber to come out on a Tuesday afternoon between 4-6. Came home early for work for this. Come 6:30 no call, no one showed up. We left several messages with no call back. Way to run a business.

I very rarely give one star rating but that's what this company deserves for customer service. I set an appointment and they were already one hour late and did not even call to give me any excuse.  When I finally got a hold of them they told me there were some delays but the promised I would be the first appointment the following morning if I was okay postponing my service...but guess what? The next day came, and they were also an hour past the appointment time and I hadn't heard from them, finally gave up and called someone else! I can deal with lame excuses and some tardiness but this was inexcusable as I wasted my time when I had other things I needed to do but instead stayed home waiting for them.

I regret using Dwight & Nick from drain genius. 2 years ago I had flooding in my home. I was told I needed multiple materials and a ton of work done. I spent hundreds if not a few thousand dollars to not have the original issues solved. I still have leaks and come to find out the wrong materials were used (shark bite) and the wrong glues. I will need all the work done again and do not have faith that these men knew what they were doing OR they were just hustling me for more and more money. Save yourself a headache and find a different plumber!

I'd give more stars if possible. I called Dwight after a plumber took 4 hours hooking up my water line to my fridge, only to leave and have it spew water all over my kitchen, prompting me to turn the water off. This plumber sent me to voicemail and did not return my call. In desperate need of a plumber Dwight came out asap and in 30 minutes fixed everything the right way!! Fast, friendly and worth ever penny for good service. I'm scheduling him to come out soon for more work in the spring.

So I went to the basement last night to get the Xmas lights out and instead found a huge pool of nasty water burping up out of the floor drain.

I made a few calls to some friends looking for recommendations, but none of the businesses they suggested were answering.

I noticed the high reviews on Yelp for Drain Genius and figured I'd give them a shot.

I scheduled an appointment online on Sunday night. A follow up call let me know that they were booked for the night, but that they would call first thing in the morning to arrange a time that worked for me.

As promised, I received a call at 7:02 am the following day letting me know they'd be there by noon. They called again shortly before my appointment to let me know they were on their way.

They arrived a little after the scheduled window, but  got right to work. I really appreciated how they explained each part of the process and exactly what they were doing and why.

They even answered a few other non-related plumbing questions I had and gave me some suggestions to resolve them.

I opted to have a scoping done while they were there and learned a lot about how the sewer system works and what I can do to prevent future issues.

I requested to be added to their reminder system so that I can stay on top of the annual maintenance they suggested.

Given the semi-emergency nature of our problem and the age of our house. I was bracing myself for a pretty big hit to the wallet. Thankfully it was a fraction of what I had guess-timated.

It is reassuring to know there are such honest people in this industry that obviously care about doing quality work at a fair price.

I would happily recommend Drain Genius to anyone and look forward to doing business with them in the future!

I experienced a series of main line clogs this week that drove me to contact Drain Genius.  I use yelp for guidance, but it missed in this case.

My wife connected with Dwight, and he committed to arrive by 5pm.  He and another colleague arrived at 945pm.  He snaked the line and cleared an obstruction.  He told us to plan on him arriving at 5pm the next day to scope the line.  He failed to make an appearance and only communicated when stalked. He finally called my wife at 10:30pm and let her know he would make it the following day.   Over the course of two days, my wife and I waited 10 hours sacrificing extremely valuable time.

Third day, Dwight sends a subcontractor (Who was a great guy) to perform the scope.  We paid the sub, $100, for the work and received a recommendation.  We chose to postpone until we gathered more opinions.  Dwight contacts my wife later in the day, and proposes a $2500 repair without ever seeing the video or speaking with his sub.  After telling him no-thanks, we  received an invoice for $275 for the scope and snake.  The website clearly states no-hidden fees.  We paid the sub $100 for the scope (which Dwight didn't know), $100 for the snake, plus $75 for hidden trip charges.  I suggest you ask for the upfront charges prior to committing.

BBB has a much better review of the inconsistent service and practices of Drain Genius.  I do not mind paying for quality work, but I will never recommend Drain Genius.

Like many other posts here, I too had an issue crop up unexpectedly.  Our moen shower cartridge probably bit the dust and our shower pressure dropped substantially.  Seemed easy enough to just replace the cartridge, but the darn thing would not budge.  The nuclear option was to replace the entire valve in the wall, but I was not capable of doing this on my own.

The guys at Drain Genius came the day after I submitted a request for service online and completed the project in about 2 hours.  Friendly and professional guys.  I would recommend and use them myself again!!

This is why you should not use Drain Genius!

bbb.org/denver/business-…

Read thru the BBB complaint and see how he ripped-off a licensed excavator.

For me, today, this company demonstrates that they really are nothing more than a rip-off company.

Instead of repairing my 6 yr. old water heater ( I got a LICENSED plumber to fix it for $115 total - new thermocouple), they told me it had to be REPLACED for $1250!!

That is becauses they do not have the skill to repair a water heater!

They had drained and disconnected my heater and were driving up with the new one.

They conned my tenants and I was not aware this B.S. was taking place!

They are not EVEN licensed to do that kind of work!!

They are DRAIN CLEANERS!!

Punchline: They STILL CHARGED MY CARD  for $98!!

Our main sewer line, from house to street, needed to be replaced. Our insurance company recommended another company that we knew was not to our standards.  I contacted Drain Genius and they were able to evaluate the situation, give an estimate and work with the two other contractors that were also on the premises that day with great ease.  They were speedy and efficient in their work.  Thank you for making what could have been a disaster and a difficult situation into a manageable and day!

He did refund me a small portion of the deposit but has yet to give me a full refund. I've called Dwight hundreds of times and for awhile he answered. Now he won't answer and still owes me $2950. My advice is to not use him and never give him a deposit for work to be done.
