We had an issue with our main toilet leaking. We turned the water off to the toilet and have another toilet to use, so we weren't in emergency status. I called Thompson Family Plumbing and they were able to get someone out the next day.

When the technician was dispatched I received an email with his license #, name and company photo. In the times we live in, I thought that was a nice touch!!

Andres came and was very knowledgeable. He did the repair, showing several options, without any sales pressure. When he was finished, his work space was clean and he had done a great job.

I will definitely be using Thompson Plumbing for all my plumbing needs!!!!

I have been following this company on Instagram from quite awhile. And we never needed plumbing service. Then our garbage disposal went out in our home in Phelan. We rent the home in Phelan to our son and his wife. John came out and took care of the problem quickly and was very fair on the cost including before and after pictures. Yesterday, we had a main line crack. They quickly dispatched a tech and then we received an email with a picture of the tech responding. He made temporary repairs and he scheduled a return trip for today, Sept 4, 2018. Today he returned and again, a picture of the tech was emailed to me. The repair was made and completed for the exact cost I was quoted. I also received before and after photos of the work. I am VERY happy with Thompsons Family Plumbing. I highly recommend them.

Thompson Family Plumbing gained my trust with their hard work and professional service. The person that I spoke to on the phone, to set up my appointment for a quote, was very understanding of what my plumbing needs were and scheduled Vincent to come to my home. Vincent fully listened to me about what I needed to have done. He explained the quote in detail and I quickly received a text with a link to the written quote. My experience with other plumbers has been that I would receive a written quote in one or two days. Vincent was also able to schedule the work to be done on the same day. This was a surprise to me because of the amount of work that needed to be done. I needed a new water heater to be installed, replace copper piping, and install a new shower valve. The work as completed on the same day and professionally done. I highly recommend Thompson Family Plumbing.

EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE!!

I originally called to have a valve replaced in one of my shower fixtures, the Tech. convinced us to upgrade to a better Moen fixture. In the end we received a builders grade quality fixture which was marked up over 300%. We paid 1000.00 for two low end fixtures. The fixtures were not caulked and told that was a service not included with the install and there would be an additional charge to seal the fixtures. I had to pay another plumber to come out and complete the work. My fault for not asking the right questions. Lesson learned!!

The sink was leaking and I ended up paying 700$ for some repairs plus 500 for a refrigerator waterline. The plumber needed help removing the dishwasher cause the levelers were in the way. I would think he could figure that out and the labor was part of the 500$ cost. Then I had to call him back cause the sink was still leaking. Nice I didn't have to pay for a second estimate for something I thought would be fixed I guess. But there are springtails everywhere. I closed up holes to block their entrance and now water is being pushed out of the wall. I'm not about to call for a third time. But I would think they'd use a moisture detector or do a more thorough investigation of what needs to be fixed. Really if I was given accurate estimates I would then make the decision what to fix but now I spent 1400 and the main thing I called for is still not fixed

Amazing customer service! This company's office person, Devon, is very organized and polite making it pleasurable doing business with this company. This is the second time I have used them and anytime I need this type of service it will be Thompson Family Plumbing and Rooter I will call. I called this morning around 8:53 AM and their service answered and sent the business office my message. Within 10 minutes I received a call from Devon stating they would have two men out between 3 PM and 5 PM. That was wonderful news and then I get a call much sooner asking if they can come early. They did a wonderful job! The two young men that came out were very nice and polite, Andrew and Kade, and finished quickly making sure that my water heater was working properly. They let me know the issues my water heater was having. DEFINITELY A 5 FIVE STAR BUSINESS!!

This is my third personal experience with Thompson Family Plumbing. They may not be the most inexpensive but having plumbing done right makes up for it.

The current job was a replacement water heater, Dean was incredibly prompt, efficient, friendly...thanks! I definitely continue to recommend their service.

My only criticism, in an attempt to have the best customer service the office communication can be a bit overwhelming between text/emails, and phone.

We are so impressed with the level of service from this company. We first contacted them to replace our water heater after reading reviews, and hearing good comments from others. We then contacted them last month for a kitchen sink leak and yesterday for a bathroom shower leak. Each time they responded quickly, came when scheduled, let us know who would be arriving from their company and when to expect them! Oh my gosh, what a novel idea - a well run business!! We have had different technicians from their company, including one of the owners

Kudos to Thompson Family Plumbing!

Our water heater went out and they were quick and professional in replacing it.
Don is the plumber who came to the house. He came during the time frame scheduled. We got a text and call from the office to tell us that he was on his way. The text included Don's photo, so we'd know who was coming to the door.

Don was friendly and courteous. The repairs were done neatly and in a timely manner including an explanation of every part replaced/installed.

One reviewer complained of the expense. That's part of getting a licensed contractor to do work. It's quality work done by a properly trained person and takes time. It may even involve a permit, and that is an added expense. For what's being done, Thompson is reasonably priced.

This business is licensed and does things properly. They guarantee their work and use products that offer a warranty.

Don't hesitate to call Thompson Family Plumbing & Rooter if you have plumbing issues!

All six plumbers are experienced experts, who give you a range of options to address plumbing issues, and who are capable, trustworthy, and timely. I have met and worked with the principle, John, and an assistant, Tony, and another plumber, Andreas. One and all they are superb professionals. Our water pipe burst leaving us with no water and they were able to send a technician same day. We have a toddler and a new born so not having any water was a nightmare.

I used Thompson Family plumbing a few times. For a slab leak and when my water heater failed. They are on time, friendly, reasonable priced and take the time to explain things and give advice. Late at night I discovered water slowly seeping between my bathroom floorboards. Eeeeeek! After a lot of panic and figuring I had a leaky pipe under my floor, I turned off the water main and in the morning called Thompson Family Plumbing. A time was arranged and a photo was sent of Victor, who would be coming, along with a text confirmation. I won't go into details of the problem, but Victor found the issue, which turned out to be a much smaller problem than I (and he) originally thought, which was a relief. I have been using John who is working Lake Havasu City Arizona branch of business. He came recommended via a framer I'm using. I can't say enough good about John and the Company. Everything is so professional, right down to alerts when he is coming and photo showing who to expect. As a single lady, this is so reassuring. John is always on time and comes prepared for the job he is doing for me. As I am remodeling a bath, he has come in to do rough work, came back in to tweak area's he didn't work in, for my tile guy to proceed. Old plumbing in way of new wallboard and future tile. I just would like to say this company is AMAZING!!! They are honest, thorough and hard working. My tankless water heater was giving me problems (no hot water) and so I gave them a call. From start to finish, my experience with Thompson Family Plumbing and Rooter Inc was excellent and Richard Reaster was incredible. Some context: I found out there was a gas leak in my home that left me without gas for 10 days so naturally I was feeling very stressed about the situation. Well thank goodness for Richard. To begin with, he was on time. He was patient while I explained my concerns and urgent need to have the problem fixed. He then took the time to explain to me exactly what he was going to do, step by step and explained it in such a way that I actually understood what he meant and didn't feel left in the dark. He also did an excellent job at breaking down the company's pricing so I knew exactly what I would potentially be paying for. Aka there would be no surprises. Essentially, his job was to find the gas leak and fix it. It was possible he would have to tear down walls and/or ceilings to find the it. Richard assured me he would do everything he could to have there be as little damage possible while also making sure he didn't burn a hole in my pocket. At one point, it looked like he might have to make a hole in the ceiling but instead he suggested climbing up into the attic, which is cramped and very HOT space but he did it with no complaints. When he finished, he insisted on sweeping and cleaning up the area himself and through it all, Richard remained the nicest and most professional. After having had two terrible experiences with other companies,in the last ten days before calling Thompson Family Plumbing, Richard was a breath of fresh air. I would highly recommend this company and specifically commend Richard on a job well done. To top it off, when he was finishing up, he still had twenty minutes to go and he suggested I call the gas company while he was there so he could explain in extreme detail the work that was done and have Southwest send a technician out to have my gas turned back on ASAP! (Spoiler alert, they did!)

I was introduced to this company through my home warranty. First job was a simple repair of a toilet water supply pipe.

Initial impressions were very positive: courteous, personable, and good service.

They arrived past the scheduled appointment time however that is to be expected in this line of work, therefore it was not a big deal to me but worth mentioning. The plumber was pleasant to deal with and easy to communicate with. Did a good job; the only thing that prolonged his call was dealing with the warranty company.

A few months later I had an issue with the pressure regulator, and water expansion tank. I recall having a pleasant interaction with Thompson Family Plumbing, and so I called them again; this time I was not covered under my home warranty.

I had the same pleasant experience with the plumber, Victor. Courteous, personable, and did good clean work. He also arrived passed the scheduled appointment time however I was notified by the company that the plumber would be running late and notified again when he arrived. I like the communication, and do not mind him being late, one cannot control everything in this line of work.

If I had to complain, I would only make mention of the pricing. Water regulator replacement, and water heater expansion tank replacement cost was over $1300.00.

I asked for quotes from other businesses and they were [much] lower than what I was quoted from Thompson. However I still went with them because I liked dealing with them.

$1300.00+ seemed a little steep, but then again what do I know about plumbing. If I run into plumbing issues again I will probably (not likely) try another company that provides competitive pricing for their services.

Over all very good service, from what seems to be a good albeit pricey company.

I had a water leak that ruined my kitchen and I didn't know where the water was coming from I looked on yelp and decided to go with thompsons family plumbing I like that they were family owned business and had good reviews so I set up an appointment and they came out the next day they text me info on the plumber and pic when he was on his way Daniel showed up and did a leak detection and then when he found it he was able to get it repaired and get the water back on at my home he also gave me different options before doing the job and I was able to pay with my debit card didn't need to run to the bank for cash great experience overall and wouldn't hesitate to call them again

Amazing service and company. I tried to do my own plumbing over the weekend and ran into a snag. I called Thompson Family Plumbing and they got a plumber to my door within hours. What is amazing is that they sent emails and text messages of who (including pictures) the plumbing was so I knew who was coming to my house (that would help if I wasn't home and it was only my wife there). Their fee was fair and very reasonable. Don (the plumber that came) fixed the issue within 30 mins and did not leave a mess, and was very polite to my toddler (that was very interested in what he was doing). If you need any plumbing work don't call anyone else!!!

I was totally happy with every aspect of my encounter with Thompson Family Plumbing!! A 10+ in every way! It's so nice to talk to a person when you call.
I love how the business is organized! I had a backed up line somewhere. Made an appointment for the tech to come out and give me a free estimate. After thinking I had resolved the problem I cancelled the appointment. Then I realized I probably still had the problem. When i called back the tech was again dispatched. Shortly after that I got an email with a pic and brief description of Dustin Lovells qualifications.Soon after that he arrived with his assistant/son, that's awesome! After checking the problem Dustin explained the issue, the solution and the price. Dustin noticed the water heater chimney was not attached properly and fixed that for me as well! At no additional charge, it was a safety issue. The problem was fixed and I was impressed with the clean, neat, helpful and informative communication throughout. Paperless billing and easy payment procedure. Great pricing!
I spoke with Christine, Devon and John in the process of asking questions and scheduling the appointment. Everyone was friendly, patient and helpful. It was the most positive experience of this type ever!! Thank you!!

Yesterday afternoon I was having a new refrigerator installed by Home Depot. They informed me that the emergency water shut valve was frozen and they could not do the install until that was replaced.
I called Thompson Family Plumbing in the late afternoon and they had a technician, Vincent here the next morning.
He had the valve replaced in no time. Vincent was friendly, courteous, explained everything to me and cleaned up completely afterwards.
Thompson Family Plumbing is the only plumbing company I have used for the last 7ish years. They're licensed and insured so I never have to worry IF there's a problem I'm covered.

Service is good but very overpriced. Gave me a same-day appointment over the phone, however, no one responded to my Yelp request I had put in over 24 hours ago before calling them. $375+ for snaking the line from the clean-out in my backyard and $265+ for installing a new garbage disposal which I provided and an additional $100+ for a piece of small plastic pipe which the technician said I need because the location of the holes was not fitting due to the new garbage disposal I provided. All and all I paid $730 for the job which I felt was too much for the work that was done. I got an estimate for some additional work I needed in my kitchen in the near future (sink replacement etc..), but I am sure I will be shopping around for that job. Definitely not using them again only because of their pricing.
Once again, the technician was good/friendly/well-behaved, and did a good job, but the company charged me way more than my expected budget.

When you mentioned various options provided in your response below - that included snaking for the amount I mentioned. Hydro jetting the line for $1000+ and the garbage disposal installation. There were no options for snaking and garbage disposal installation for lower prices. I accepted what you showed me as my kitchen was inaccessible for food and water at that time.

I posted a google review at 5 stars. Richard was 5 star super hero and Keisha rocks a 5 Star at customer service. My experience was good. They stand behind their work and they can afford to.

My experience was that I paid $1100 to have the pipes redone under my kitchen sink. It was 4 times as much as the first bozo and twice as much as the second bozo. My original quote was higher and I negotiated it. I got the service I paid for. It was great.

It's a fairly new company. They have been licensed for 6 yrs this coming June. #984369 and have 6 home improvement salesmen licensed so I knew I would have legal recourse and I was over the bozo route. But they are sales people first plumbers second.

They gave me great service. It was leaking after the install and they came out 2nd and 3rd time to make it right. I asked for a different tech this time. I got Richard. Amazing! He's a real plumber and could tell what was tricked out to make my cabinet function nit slides out with trash etc accessible fro overhead.

It's a custom set up so I understand that there's issues with that. Richard was last out and he was awesome. He did an excellent job of addressing everything you could possibly be causing the pipes to come lose and cause the disaster.

Keisha handled my call excellent. I was not. a happy camper. The pipe came out of the garbage disposal so a tub of minestrone soup went through the disposal and sprayed all over my cabinet and the contents. It's a slide out drawer so everything was covered. I had did it in the morning and found it in evening. It look like somebody had projectile vomited underneath my cabinet and it had dried on everything. By the time we cleaned it up Richard was here - about 30 mins. on a Friday evening.

The difference between a good contractor and a bad one is not that they don't have problems; it that they take care of their problems. I got excellent service.

By CSLB law Homeowners are required to be given a three day right to cancel in writing when you sign a contract/ proposal In your home. They cannot ask for a deposit more than 10% or $1000 which ever is less. If you cancel within your three business days which are days the mail runs you are entitled to every single penny of your deposit to be refunded.

Normal companies that charge normal prices can't afford to send two people unless ones in training.lol. It's a different world. Their plumbers/salesman are on commission. You have to deal with them from that angle. They are expensive even after their drop but I was feeling pretty desperate at the time. I went with them because I knew I had legal recourse. It worked out great for me but I knew who they were.

This is not your mom n pop shop or your mothers service provider plumber. It's a commission based HI Company. It's hard to find real plumbers any more. But common sense in using anyone is do you homework.

Your service was 5 stars - without fronting you off on a social platform - that guy fighting for his deposit for two months cost you a star. If what he says is true- the stress that your caused him for months is on your greedy hands. Giving you five stars for complying with the LAW 55 days too late is NOT five star service. #shameful

Scheduled a next-day estimate with Thompson Family Plumbing through their site.
Loved that feature.
They were estimated to come between 11-1 pm. They were held up at the last house. I got text notifications and calls updating me on when they will arrive. I didn't reply to any because I was working, but I appreciate them keeping me in the loop.
They were late, but after meeting with Andres and Donald, I can assume it's because they provided excellent customer care to the call before mine.
Both were very professional, empathetic, and knowledgeable. They did a thorough estimate and followed up.
I haven't decided on going through with the service yet, not because of them or the company, just landlord stuff.
But I will recommend them to anyone I know and push to get the landlord to move on using their services.
Thank you, Donald & Andres, for giving me a new impression of plumbing services.
I will update when they can hopefully start work here.

I had a issue with my water heater pilot light not staying lit so I called about having a technician come out to take a look. From the start of dealing with Thompson family I have to say I was very happy. This company's customer service is amazing. From the woman who scheduled my service to the technician who came to do the work. I was a first time customer and the initial inspection was free.

Daniel Garcia was my technician and was very polite and friendly. He was very respectful and immediately knew what the problem was. He explained exactly how to fix the problem and quoted the price which was very reasonable to replace the thermocouple. The total was $285 with a 1 year warranty. He showed me the broken part and I was also sent pictures of all the work and the whole process. He also explained some tips to extend the life of my new thermocouple. I was very happy with the work and it didnt even take as long as originally estimated.

I typically don't write many reviews of businesses but I felt compelled to do so in this instance. I had a recent plumbing issue with a shower drain pipe. Ulysses Ramos ( Thompson plumbing service technician) was promptly dispatched to my residence to investigate. From the very onset, Ulysses displayed a great deal of professionalism, knowledge and courtesy while he investigated the root cause of the water leak. He maintained this high level of professionalism throughout the entire time he worked on the repair. Although there was some minor hiccups regarding job scheduling I would highly recommend this company to anyone that has a plumbing need. I would also like to extend a special note of thanks to owner Devynn Thompson for calling me back to discuss my concerns. Great family business. This review is long overdue. However, it's not due to negativity. Life just gets in the way...
Anyway Dean from Thompson came out to our house twice - once to work on the kitchen faucet that needed a cartridge replaced and a second time to replace the entire faucet and the connections below the sink.
Unfortunately, it turned out after the cartridge was replaced that the whole faucet needed to be replaced. This had nothing to do with Dean's work which was flawless. There was simply an extra problem. When he came out the second time he switched out the faucet and redid the connections below. He also fixed the guts of one of our toilets and in doing so noted that our water pressure was extremely high. He switched out the water pressure regulator and now everything is perfect. I have nothing but positive comments and glowing remarks for Dean and Thompson Family Plumbing. They were fast, efficient and got the job done. Their rates were reasonable and Dean was extremely friendly. Thanks to Thompson and I highly recommend!!

I called out Thompson Family plumbing because my tankless water heater stopped working. The young man that came was very polite. He couldn't get the pilot light to work after trying for a few minutes. He gave me a quote of $5500 for a new unit. It was 700 for the unit and $4800 to install. My brother came over and got it working in just a couple of minutes and it's been working great. My brother said the pilot light is a little worn. He went online and ordered a new pilot light system new for $21 dollars. He says it's a simple fix and will put it in as soon as it arrives. I would expect more from a plumbing repair company. I feel like if I had put my trust in them as a female, they would have taken advantage of me.

I have used Thompson Family Plumbing twice. The first time we had the pleasure to have Dustin out to repair a kitchen faucet problem. We were very satisfied. Because of the nature of the problem the second time , I requested Dusting and a supervisor to investigate a septic smell in our Master Bathroom. When they arrived, I informed both of the plumbers
that I believed the smell was coming from the toilet.
Since there was not a visible water leak, the suggestion was dismissed. Instead a smoke detection test ($450.00) was offered to isolate the problem. The smoke test did NOT reveal the source. In addition to not solving our plumbing problem, I was treated very rudely. If only one of them had checked out the toilet like I asked and the source would have revealed as a faulty valve. Shame on you!!! for treating me so badly not to mention sick from the septic fumes. Need to work on your customer
skills.

I had a hot water heater issue and was not getting any hot water. As anyone with a family of 5 knows, this is a major problem! After waiting a day for SoCal Gas to show up and say, It's not our problem, I turned to Thompson Family Plumbing and thankfully they were at my house within a few hours! John showed up even earlier than estimated and got to work right away. Within an hour he had diagnosed the problem and got the hot water heater working again. Had a late night emergency where the hot water handle of my master bathtub blew spewing scalding hot water up to my ceiling. Had to turn off the water to my entire house. Called them right away at about 8:00 pm and their on call plumber was there within 45 minutes. Nicest guy and super professional and accommodating. Took him less than 10 minutes to fix the problem. And was WAY cheaper than Roto Rooter (who my wife accidentally called the first time). Roto wanted $225 for the after hours callout whereas Thompson only charged $125 for the after hours.

Dustin came right on schedule. Had a leak from an upstairs drain coming through the ceiling downstairs. He found that the overflow drain fittings were loose and were the likely culprit. Tightened it, recommended using sealant to see if it would solve the problem rather than tearing into two walls! Would absolutely call them again!

My husband was helping his mom out by repairing the sprinkler system at her house, and it turned out that the valve for main water line at the house I was broken. He knew he needed to call for professional help. Every step of the way, this company provided phenomenal customer service. The rep that answered helped get us connected to an on-call plumber very quickly, despite it being a Saturday evening. The plumbers arrived within 30 minutes. Even though they had just left another all-day job they were both so friendly and helpful. They assessed the situation quickly, managed to fully turn off the city water feed which we had been unable to, and they did it all without making us feel like dumb for trying to fix it ourselves first. They were also able to come up with a plan to get it repaired quickly, and even replaced the equipment in the main incoming line with a better and more reliable ball valve, instead of the gate valve. They did it all at less than half the cost we expected. This my mother in-laws new plumber from now on. They have permanently earned her business.

Our toilets stopped up in the middle of the night. Called Thompson Family Plumbing first thing in the AM, by 1030am they had the technician on site, assessed the problem, gave me a very reasonable quote (prior to working) and within a few minutes had the blockage cleared. They also discussed options in case the initial attempt didn't work so no hidden fees or attempt to upsell.

I had a plugged up shower drain so I called the home warranty and they sent out Thompson's. They were all very nice and professional the only issue was that they wanted to tear out all my pipes and put new ones in and charge me an arm and a leg. After their first day of work I had another plumber come who was a friend of a friend and give me a second opinion and he said to cancel all services as soon as possible, they were doing work that was absolutely not needed. I told them the next morning I was canceling at which point the plumber was very upset and said he works off of commission and wouldn't get paid now. Overall, they seem like nice people and they carry themselves as professionals but their plumbers will try and do as much work and charge you as much as possible because they're paid off of commission and it's in their best interest. Also, if you have a home warranty I would request another plumber because they take advantage of people when they're desperate.

Our water heater went out on Christmas Eve of all days. Water was running everywhere. Had to spend 2 nights in a hotel because we had to turn off water at main. Other Plumbing Service called & told us they could not get out to our home because it snowed & the roads were too slick. My insurance company then contacted Thompson Plumbing & Daniel came out the same evening & fixed everything the next day on a Saturday on his day off. I have used this company in the past and was satisfied with the service I received. So when I discovered water damage from a broken pipe in my kitchen I decided to give them a call. They had a tech come out and check out the problem, there was mold growing and he said I can't work in these conditions. I completely understand and I told him I already called the insurance company. He responded by saying I shouldn't have contacted the insurance company yet and put me in contact with, ESR remediation company. So they come out and try to have me postpone the adjuster so that they can get rid of the mold before the insurance company see's it and claim it was just water damage. I asked what happens if they do not cover me for the damage he replied he would work with me to settle the costs. Really, so I make a fraudulent claim, risk getting denied, and get stuck with a $5000.00, no thank you. I stuck with my Insurance Adjuster and he recommended a restoration company who took care of me. I opted to go with another plumbing company who did great (CIsnero's). Sorry Thompson but I do not with to do business with a company who has this type of unethical and illegal practices.

Do not trust this company!! I called to have my septic pumped and they gave me a quote over the phone of $580 which if most of you know is almost double what other places charge. I agreed to pay the amount and they were even nice enough to contact my insurance company to get the outside authorization. 2 days later when the technician showed up to do he work he came in a pretty small utility truck and I was so confused as to where he would b pumping and putting everything. We were not sure where our tank was located as this is our new home so at the last minute the technician tried to gouge me for $200 more just to locate my tank. So that $580 to pump and dig an $200 to locate a tank...I told him that locating he tank is suppose to be the &580 quote he told me no it's extra I told him I won pay a penny more than the $580 and he said ok great have a nice day and left. I have never been so shocked by the lack of customer service. This place trys to take advantage of customers who are in need. They then send me an email with an estimate of $1,015. If you want excellent service go to A&A Abel's septic service. I called them after this guy left and they were out to my home within in the hour and only charged me $380. Ask for Julie in the office she is a sweetheart and request Chris as your technician the man is a rock star!!

A few days ago, when I had an issue with my kitchen sink I contacted the company again, In just two hours of my call, an excellent tech, Dean Tayler, was sent to site and got issue promptly and professionally solved. We had an issue with the toilet and sink in our master bathroom. Through our home warranty insurance we got matched with Thompson Family Plumbing. I was called by Tiffany who let me know that the technician had an earlier time to come out and check our toilet. This is a professional company with experienced plumbers who understood the task at hand. The quote was quite high to install a brand new garbage disposal I had already purchased.

They did come down on the price for us, but the price still was over $100 an hour including drive time.

I normally don't write reviews (yet alone a negative one) but the experience I had was so outrageous, I'm obligated to share.

I requested a quote over the phone to have 3 faucets installed. They insisted on having their technicians visit my home to give an accurate estimate. I asked them for a ballpark, even though I already knew how much it may cost, but I wasn't able to get any information over the phone.

The two technicians that came to visit were very polite at first. They looked at the sinks that needed the faucets installed, went back to their truck to create an estimate, and came back with a more nervous demeanor. I was quoted almost $2,000 to have 3 faucets installed....that's almost 10x the average cost. Of course I wasn't going to give them my business. I told them thanks but I'm not interested. As they left, one of them said on to the next one. That stuff normally doesn't bother me, but I found that somewhat unprofessional.

The company called the next day to follow up, but I explained I can't do business with a company that marks up their services so high. They asked if I receive a lower quote that I call them back. After their initial quote, they've lost all trust with me because I felt like they were trying to take advantage of my situation of not having any operational faucets.

Don't be fooled by their politeness, they will try and steal your money.

Water heater drain valve was leaking. Andres responded quickly and fixed problem. He did a quick inspection and discovered expansion tank had failed. He ended up replacing it and doing maintenance work, flushing tank, replacing anode and cleaning burner, etc. Great technician and great company!

My mother and I moved to the High Desert from San Gabriel Valley in 2013. Within the first week we found that the company we bought the house from used a cheap contractor who cut ALOT of corners. As a result, we had the plumbing back up from a pipe that was so rusted closed toilet paper couldn't pass through it. John not only fixed that junction, but sat and educated us on the new septic system we now had. He took the time to ensure we understood what was happening, so when a camera was run down a pipe to see why the washer wasn't draining, we stuck with John.

4 weeks later, after a few other discoveries, EVERY pipe was replaced in this move in ready home. Because of John, after the explanations, discounts, and his empathy, if there are ANY future wants or needs dealing with plumbing (from water systems to addition septic systems) Thompson Family Plumbing WILL be called.

I had Thompson Family Plumbing come out for an emergency leaking water heater this last Friday. Not only did they respond to my inquiries immediately, they also had a tech out the next morning! (I contacted them at 2 pm and was unable to be available the same day). Daniel came to my house professionally dressed and was able to address the problem right away. It did cost an arm, a leg, and a left nut, but it was a huge job and was expected. Daniel stayed most of the day to replace a water heater, bring it up to code, dig up the water main and install a water pressure regulator, as well as cap off 2 leaks we didn't realize we had! His work was very nice and he left all areas clean. Thank you, Thompson Family Plumbing! You eased my mind after a stressful day!

Thompson Family Plumbing offers a video conference service, which is extremely useful during these COVID times. We called last week to set it up and had a terrific experience with James, who spent almost half an hour on the phone helping us assess and diagnose a crossover issue (warm water was intermittently coming out of the cold tap). James was professional, courteous, and patient with all of my questions, and offered some potential DIY solutions. Remarkably, James did not charge us for this initial time -- and said he would charge us only for a video appointment if we needed his help in the future to guide us through implementing the solutions he suggested. Jackie in the front office was also very helpful and courteous as well. Would highly recommend!

I called this company again a few years ago (I haven't posted in a while!) because I turned on the shower one morning... and the water never got hot. After checking the problem myself (yep, pilot light was lit, but no action), I called Thompson Family Plumbing. I was not able to be home that day, but my water heater is located in a closet on the back of the house. I left the gate and closet doors unlocked, and Daniel (Thanks again!) came over and fixed the issue while I was at work. He called me a couple of times to keep me updated, and even came to my house on the weekend (when I would be home) to have me sign the credit card slip (rather than me having to to down to their business). I even got a bit of a discount, being a repeat customer.
I hope I don't need any plumbing repairs again, but if I do... Yep, Thompson Family Plumbing. The money stays in my community and they do the job quickly and correctly.

It's a new year, so that means another water leak in the house (insert sad face). Again, we contacted Thompson Plumbing to help us out. Mind you, I called at almost 10pm at night - and they answered the phone! I explained our situation and a technician was scheduled to come out the very next morning. This time around we decided to simply repipe the entire house. As with our experience previously, Dustin our assigned tech, was always thorough, pleasant, on-time and professional. It was a 3 day job, but he's a hard worker and Thompson is so lucky to have him (I'm sure they know this!). Highly recommend this company for all of your plumbing needs.

This is the second time I've used Thompson Plumbing, and each time, I was in a bit of a bind timewise. Recently, I had a tenant call me to say the hot water tank was leaking all over the garage, so I appreciated Thompson Plumbing quickly responding. Andres Garcia assessed the problem, and he was the one who completed the repairs. We communicated by phone / text and he provided before and after pictures that were very helpful. The work he did appears to be very professional, and I would rate him five stars.

Highly recommend we had a situation with our tub drain and a plumber came out on Wednesday that was just not a good plumber he basically came in took a pic of our broken drain and turned down the job after taking our money for coming out, he was assigned through our home warranty.
Called Thompson family plumbing they were will to help from the second they answered the phone, talked to Anthony explained our whole situation and how we were out 78$ already because of the other company, Anthony said he'd waive our fee and made an appt to come out the next morning, he even let me send over pics of our problem, thank you for your helpfulness thanks for your great attitude even though we didn't need to use them I still highly recommend, I know this company is another that's willing to help right from the start just by our conversation and his willingness to help us.

I contacted this company for a water heater replacement quote. They were responsive and very easy to work with. They scheduled an appointment quickly and came within the estimated window. They kept me updated of the tech's arrival. Jacob was my tech and he explained the work that was needed, the cost break down and tried to work within our budget. I have no doubt the service would have been excellent as well. The cost of the repair is cost prohibitive at the moment so we will not proceed with it at this time. I GUARANTEE you won't find a better service here in the High Desert!! I had a total stoppage which we had problems with on & off for the past 4 years or so. John came out right away and diagnosed the problem almost ON THE NOSE!! Come to find out the line between the septic tank and the house was busted, missing about a 6-8 inch section of the pipe! These guys even went ABOVE an BEYOND by taking up a portion of the concrete patio that had been laid by the previous owners of the house to get to the problem! ALL the other companies I called said I would have to remove the concrete myself before they would work on it. Not THOMPSON FAMILY PLUMBING!! They even REPLACED the concrete when they were finished!! You guys are AWESOME!! THANK YOU again for the EXCELLENT job you did!! My parents were so impressed with the job that they did that they had them come and do some work for them also... which was another AWESOME JOB!! :-)

I called because a water valve was broken. It was Memorial Day and I never thought someone would be willing to come out. Tracy at the office was so kind and said she would be able to dispatch a repair person soon.

Beware always they do is act like they're going to do the job right and they figure out ways not to do the job right and be very condescending even on the second rework they still made a mess out of the plumbing sewage you ask him to do the whole job and they try to Mickey Mouse and okey-doke people be really beware bad news just take your money and screw you. When his company was told to do the job right and don't make it all a nightmare like they did or they did was want to keep increasing prices and can't do the job right from the start from the way it was supposed to be did it it was their methodology of repair and it wasn't successful because they're not professional enough to back their product or workmanship take a second chance and screw it up and who knows what other set ups they did to this property so this point in time there are a bunch of shysters .

One of our toilets stopped working and after deciding that we couldn't replace it ourselves, we called Thompson Family Plumbing. Andrew and Kade came out and gave us a quote. We ended up replacing both toilets and a faucet. They came back and replaced everything. They were super friendly and explained some different things that were going on. Well our water heater went out. It was old and needed to be replaced. I called several plumbers, heard many different things. Don Deschenes arrived on time for the quote. He was polite clean and professional. He gave us the quote and we decided to have him do the work. He was able to install the water that same day which was greatly appreciated. Less than 6 month ago, I purchased a new backflow for our irrigation system. Unfortunately, since that time, we have had several problems with the new installed backflow. The backflow was unsuccessfully serviced by 2 other plumbers from Thompson Family Plumbing. Few days ago, I again called Thompson Family because the backflow was badly leaking water. This time Thompson Family Plumbing sent Mr. Riley Nason to fix the backflow issues. I am very fortunate and happy that the company sent Mr. Riley Nason this time. I am giving a HUGE shout-out to Riley and Thompson Family Plumbing! Riley Nason was great, and communicated all the details & scenarios in advance, and was super knowledgeable. Riley is a hard worker, and a true professional.

Only time will tell if the leaking and other related issues with the backflow have stopped. I would definetely use Mr. Riley Nason from Thompson Family Plumbing again.

These other Reviews are either False or from Customers that do not know any better and do not have enough experience with plumbing problems.
I do not usually take the time to sit down and write a review but I can not in good conscious sit back without warning other consumers.
I called Thompson Family Plumbing for a Slab Leak.
Daniel showed up late and I explained to him that this was rental home and I received a call from my tenant who was also present at this meeting.
The living room floor was HOT in a certain area and not to far from that area water was escaping from the outside yard along the foundation of the home. Daniel brought in his Leak Detection equipment and went back and forth thru out the Living Room, The whole time frustrated and trying to convince me that it was not worth finding the leak and that I should consider repiping the whole house instead :-( at a cost of $7000
I told Daniel that was not an option and that I was not prepared for that kind of expense. He proceeded with his machine insisting that it was too difficult to detect the leak with the carpet and said the carpet had to be removed so I allowed him to cut the carpet and pull it all back and he still could not find the leak, Then he stated that to be sure he needed to open up a wall in the Living room behind the Bathroom, So by this time my carpet is ruined and I have a big hole in the Living room wall and Daniel is still not sure where the leak was. Daniel called his Boss /Owner of the Company John Thompson and we agreed that John would come first thing in the morning to Detect the Leak. To my surprise I received a phone call first thing in the morning from John stating that he would Not come back out to detect the Leak unless I paid him $250 dollars FIRST !
I told John that I would be more than willing to pay the $250 to find the Leak but he had to come out and find it as we agreed !
I told him what would be his motivation to come and find the leak if he had already been paid ... His response was that if I didn't pay him first he Refused come out and he would put a LIEN on my property.
So Thompson Family Plumbing Did Not Find The Leak are Threatening to Put a LIEN against my property for a $250 Leak Detection fee for a Leak that they never found.
I contracted another Company who came out and Immediately found the Leak that was NO where even close to where Thompson Plumbing said It MIGHT be.
I took Plenty of Pictures of the Damaged Carpet and where Daniel opened up the wall, No where even close to where the actual leak was !
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT JUST WANTS TO SCAM THE CONSUMER INTO UNNECESSARY WORK AT A HIGH COST.

After months of plumbing mishaps and shoddy work by other high desert plumbers, we thankfully finally found Thompson! There's a REASON the word Family is in their name - because that's how they make you feel.

The care for our home and major plumbing work it required (complete re-route of all sewer lines) was phenomenal. Their Foreman Daniel Garcia came up with a solution no other plumbers suggested. It involved minimal damage to the inside of the home by re-routing through the dirt outside instead of trying to fix 50 year-old corroded, root-bound pipes under the house.

They were always on time, precision cut our concrete, drywall and tiles and then cleaned it all up! This was a very difficult decision for us (given the Covid-climate and our lack of employment) - plus I'm a bit of a Drama Queen and was so nervous about a construction war zone at our home!! But they laid the new pipes - put us back together and we are set for life, thanks to Thompson! We will be forever grateful to Devynn, James, Daniel and all the office staff (big love to Anthony!). And yes - we feel a part of their Family now!

From the moment I called to the Technician finishing up the job, was a 5 star experience.
The ladies that answer the phone all seem so nice and helpful. I got constant updates on the Techs ETA on the day of. When James Kelley arrived, he was very clean, professional, and cordial. It was a quick drain problem fix that he finished in less than an hour and didn't charge any additional fee to the $95 assessment fee.

It's been a few days since our water heater replacement. The technician was very polite and detailed on what he was doing. The job was done efficiently. The reason for the two stars is because it was on the very high end of price. Unfortunately I was taken back by the urgency of getting the project done and after getting several quotes afterwards I found out that this project was on the extremely high end and the warranty of the product is on the low end that was installed. Long story short, great customer service, but they do take advantage of you with overpriced product and service.

I had the pleasure of making my appointment with one of their customer service reps Ashlyn. She was such a breath of fresh air with her bubbly, genuine, empathetic and professional demeanor.
John and Ismael were the technicians sent out on the call. I came to find out John is the owner. You can tell he takes pride not only in his work but his other technicians work ethic and professionalism. These guys were just amazing. They went over everything with me in detail.
I knew exactly the culprit to my blockage and they were very efficient and communicative every step.
John even took a look at something else for me and was able to fix that too.
Also, I paid what I was quoted. That's something that doesn't happen too often in today's day of inflated prices.

We spoke for several minutes we both related the scenario as we perceived it. In the end I was given a full refund of the 730.00 deposit and definitely wanted to say, they are honest sincere and care about their customers. Although the company that ended up doing the work did it for less and with the bare minimum of r&r. Thompson's is a okay in my book. Oh the Monica's Tacos note at the end of the first review was not posted because Devon said I should talk with Eddy. I did and am happy. Love your food Eddy. Glad to have you close to home.

I believe it was Andres who did such a wonderful job re-doing the pipes under our kitchen sink in preparation for our new kitchen sink, new garbage disposal and faucet, etc. . We had an unbelievable configuration of pipes under that sink that prevented us from storing anything in there. I wish I had pictures of how really bad everything was configured. The pipes snaked up and down for no reason and we could never fit anything in that cabinet because of it. It also would not have linked up with the new sink. Andres replaced everything down there including the copper pipe and it wasn't until then I realized how much we needed a plumber in this circumstance. Great job and very personable and a hard worker. Thank you Thompson Family for sending him to help us.

The Technician James Kelley was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional and he advised me as to the state of the problem and how they would address it. I had a faucet leaking under my kitchen sink. I had shut off the water underneath, but it kept leaking anyway. I had to shut off the water main for it to completely stop. Because of this, I needed a plumber right away so I could turn my water back on. I have called a few plumbers since moving into my 1979 built home in about 8 months ago. Thompson has been the most responsive, professional, and reliable, so I called them as soon as I knew I needed help. There customer service rep, Anthony, scheduled me for that day, noting that I had an urgent need. Donald came to my home to stop the leak. He put in a new faucet and replaced my old creaky shut off valves with new current valves. I like that he provided me with three different options before beginning work so that I could choose the one that I felt worked with my needs. He worked in a timely and professional manner all the while demonstrating a positive attitude. Thompson Family Plumbing followed up with me the next day to see if I needed anything else, which I greatly appreciated. Great customer service!

after calling in a home warranty claim for leaking disposal/ contacted Thompson Family plumbing & rooter rather than waiting for them to reach out. Promptly agreed to appointment window the following day ... only to be called to say NO ONE would be available until the following Wednesday
There was a courtesy call to cancel by Thompson. My warranty company came back with another plumbing company that was able to get the call and the disposal replaced after I let them know of the cancellation

Very disappointed in this company! Will never recommend! My clients received a $5800 estimate to replace a brand new Rinnai tankless water heater from Thompson Family Plumbing. They were told it needed to be replaced because it wasn't at the incorrect elevation, which the elevation they live in is 5100 and the unit is for 5400 elevation. Anyhow, I made an appointment with a Rinnai specialist and he repaired the unit for $1600.

used Thompson Plumbing again today to certify my back flow preventer required by water company. Scheduling was a breeze and the great communications between setting appt. and tech arrive is not but best.
Nick the tech show exactly as communicated. They even send text with his current location and time to house which is right . Nick described the service he would perform, the cost and time to complete. All of which were right on. The cost was very reasonable and Nick did outstanding quality job. Even offer to send the certificate to the water company.
Any one needing honest, cost effective and quality work needs to call Thompson!

I called Thompson Family Plumbing yesterday to receive a quote to see how much my unknown problem would cost to fix. I explained I had a major water leak in my front yard by my main water valve to my house and Devynn was very helpful and set up a time short time frame for the following morning (at my request, I'm pretty sure they could have someone out the same day). Shortly after our phone conversation I received a text message with all the details of my upcoming appointment (which is great).
This morning I received a call from Devynn letting me know that Don Deschenes has finished his job prior to mine and would be available to be at my house within thirty minutes IF I were available. Which I was. After that phone conversation I receive another text message with all the information on my plumber, Don Deschenes, including a picture of him.
Don arrived within the new time frame I was given by Devynn. I walked Don over to the problem area which at this time was just a pile of mud I saw water coming up from when my water was on. He grabbed a shovel and dug deep into the ground until he found the issue. After all this work he gives me a quote (mind you he's digging in 36 degree weather with ice cold wind and has diagnosed the problem and there's no obligation at this point to pay for anything. Also he's not annoyed or complaining at all with the weather conditions. He stays friendly and courteous). The price was reasonable and the work came with a 1 year warranty. I accepted the terms and he started on the work right away.
Once the work was completed he showed me the completed project (which was my water regulator) and the faulty regulator he removed. At this point he's still very professional and friendly. At this point I pay and sign on his iPad and call it a day.
Then right now I come onto Yelp to leave this review and they have a 10% off coupon on your first service. Kind of bummed I didn't see this at the point of payment but just for the heck of it I shoot a message through Yelp to the business and ask if it was too late to redeem the coupon. I receive a message seconds later stating they were going to be calling me. As soon as I read it the phone ran and it was Devynn again. She was super friendly and offered a refund and would then recharge me with the coupon redeemed.
Seriously the best customer service I've ever received from a Plumbing business (and in a while from any type of business). I was a stress case from this leak and they resolved it in no time flat. I HIGHLY recommend this business to anyone who wants honest, friendly, and fast service. Thank so so much Thompson Family Plumbing!

I know they are an established business and I'm sure they know what they are doing. However, the guy doing the estimate tried to pull an old trick on me. All I needed was a shower faucet and head installed with the waste and drain assembly. The cost? Over $1000! When I questioned him he shrugged and said, plumber. As if they are some sort of special class of people with magic skills. He even whined and explained that plumbers are expensive due to the massive cost of running a business. I asked him to get the price lower somehow and he settled on $675 if I bought the waste and drain assembly and helped him on the whole job. I paid the $95 required fee and called another guy who did the whole thing for $375.

I recommend the Thompson Family Plumbing to anyone. I had a leak on my front yard called the Thompson Family Plumbing maid an appointment with them. The next day the plumber Dean Taylor showed up on time he looked at the leak and in less than an hour he found the leak. gave me 2 options as to how I would want to address the problem. I took option 2 and he and his partner got to work rite a way and in about 3 hours they fished all the work and left my yard we're the leak was like nothing had happened. I was very pleased with Dean's work and I would definitely recommend Thompson Family plumbing.

I had a 25-year-old water heater that was ready for replacement. Knowing that the wisest course of action was to get at least 3 written estimates from licensed plumbing contractors, I did my research and then called the first one. He told me he would not come to my home to give me a free estimate. Really?? On to the next one. Similar response. My third call went to Thompson Family Plumbing. I spoke with Lindsey and she said they would definitely send someone. The someone was Don. About 30 minutes before he arrived, I received an email stating he was on his way. The email included his picture (nice touch so I know what he looks like) and a short biography about him. Five minutes later, Lindsey called to tell me he was on his way (nice followup since not everyone gets their emails immediately!)

Don arrived right on time. Pulling out his flashlight he checked the old water heater, pipes, vent to the roof, and heater stand. He told me exactly what I would need replaced, as well as what was needed to bring the replacement up to code. He was very professional and thorough, and answered all of my questions. He carried an iPad so he could snap an image of my current water heater, look up pricing, and create an estimate (very high-tech for a plumber). He also stated that Victorville required a permit for replacing a water heater (the other 3 plumbers told me I did not really need one...which is totally false). Since I had checked with Victorville City Hall, I knew Don was correct. Regarding the permit, Don told me that since we did not know each other, having the city inspector come in and check his work would also give me confidence that he completed the job meeting all code requirements. This gave me even more confidence in using him. He actually WANTED an inspector to review his work. To me, that shows a person who knows he will do the job right the first time.

Fifteen minutes after he left I received his estimate in my email. Wow. He even included the model number of the new water heater (which I had requested).

After getting one more estimate from someone who tried to low-ball me by not including items I knew had to be replaced, I happily and confidently awarded the job to Thompson Family Plumbing and Don. I called Lindsey to let her know. She scheduled the job and said, welcome to the family. I would like to add that all of my phone conversations with Lindsey were very nice. She is very warm, friendly, helpful, and answered all my questions. Definitely great customer service.

The day arrived and I again received an email telling me Don was on the way. He arrived with an assistant named Andres. While they worked I was out in the garage with them. Don and Andres are both great guys and we had some fun discussions while they replaced my water heater. I could see by the way they worked that they were very organized and professional. At one point, Don spoke about how attention to detail is so very important. I know from being an IT professional for more than 30 years that that philosophy is what separates the good workers from the great workers!

When Don and Andres were done, they completely cleaned up everything, took away the old water heater, heater stand, boxes, and other incidentals. Don had me sign a couple documents directly on his iPad screen, and he was able to charge my credit card using a reader attached to the iPad. I received my invoice in my email within minutes. Again, very high-tech!

Don asked me if I had any questions. I asked him about flushing the water heater, checking/changing the anode rod, and how to know when my new thermal expansion tank needed to be replaced. He answered every one of my questions thoroughly.

As we were standing outside the garage, my wife arrived home. Don insisted she should go check out the new heater to make sure she was satisfied (which she was). I guess he is just very proud of the quality of his (and Andres') work...and he should be!

Coming into this project, I knew no plumbers in the High Desert. None of my friends had any that they could recommend. So I was just hoping to find a good, honest plumber. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that I was successful. Luckily, my home has had almost no plumbing issues. But, when I do need a plumber, I will call Lindsey and ask for Don.

Oh, I should also mention that when the inspector came to my home he looked over the job Don and Andres did, signed off on the permit, and told me they did a really nice job.

Thank you for reading this review. I believe in giving people a pat on the back when they deserve it and earn it, and in this case, Don, Andres, and Lindsey definitely have earned it!

Called Thompson Family Plumbing Rooter because my water heater was leaking. I spoke to Yolanda, which by the way has the best people skills. Yolanda went out of her ways to assist me with my emergency and concerns that I had. Justin was the technician that replaced my water heater. We can't say enough good things about Thompson Family plumbing! We first used them two years ago when a root cracked some piping in our septic. They were on time, communicated well and were very friendly and professional! Most recently, we called them again for a leak with our water heater. Richard is who they sent out (they text you a photo and name of your technician, which these days was very reassuring and I thought was really cool). He came out and capped off an unnecessary pipe, quick. A couple days later the leak reappeared, and Richard was sent out again. It took a while for all of us to figure out exactly what was causing the leak to continue, but he wasn't leaving until he got to the bottom of it. He went above and beyond, climbed in our attics to check our piping for the AC, everything- he ruled out every possibility. Once we were able to recreate the leak, the problem was found (and indeed had to do with the same pipe) so he let us know our water heater needs replaced, and brought up to new code since things have changed since our house was built. He gave us an extremely reasonable quote to replace it all, and we scheduled it for three days later, which is today. He is incredibly efficient, doesn't try to rush anything, and doesn't try to push any unnecessary work or charges, which we have experienced in the past with other companies. Very friendly, personable, and he cares about his quality of work. We will ALWAYS use Thompson Family for any plumbing or rooter needs. The administrative side is also very friendly and communicates very well. We highly recommend!!

A kitchen sink going out is the worst with a family of 6. Thompson family is always very quick, came the same day and fixed our problem! Don was very nice and gave me many options to help fix the problem that keeps on occurring. We have used them several times, and will continue to use them in the future. Donald came out to help me fix an issue preventing our master bathroom from flushing. He used a camera to look at my clean outs and used the drain snake to clean debris. He did a thorough job and recommended that we replace our toilet (that ended up actually being the issue), thanks for the help, being friendly and having good customer service!
