Starboy came out when our tankless water failed. Starboy didn't even take the cover off and said it needed to be replaced. The replacement would be about $2000 for the water heater. And $3,000-$3500 in labor for a six hour job. We kept looking and found a plumber that fixed the issue for $150 in about 5 minutes.

We had a time sensitive kitchen faucet issue which needed professional attention. Denver took the call and assessed the situation by phone. He quickly came out and provided a couple of options and pricing. He replaced the faucet and pointed out a few other items we may want to consider fixing (both plumbing and non-plumbing). He was efficient, communicated a lot and friendly. The cost to repair seems reasonable to me.

Starboy was amazing! We have a complicated shower system and when the original plumber showed up, he was honest in that he wasn't the right person for the job. A few hours later, Daniel and Oliver showed up and within an hour got the job done. They were knowledgable and honest, also very communicative as they were working through the issue. We had a few plumbers come out and Starboy beat them by far with pricing and service. Use them!

Had a kitchen drainage pipe leak in the crawl space and called Starboy Plumbing. Got a Fair quote and scheduled a repair without difficulty. ANDREW and his help CARLOS arrived ahead of schedule, dressed professionally and ready to go (Literally in a Hazmat suit). Replaced approx. 20 ft of aging drainage pipe in a timely manner and cleaned up after themselves. They were knowledgeable , polite, and easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend Starboy Plumbing and use them again.

Our kitchen sink made some strange noises so we thought we call in Starboy Plumbing to check it out. They fixed some plumbing issues last year for us. Denver from Starboy Plumbing was super friendly and responsive. He showed up on time and wore a face mask.
It turned out that there was nothing unusual with our plumbing. Denver recommended that we don't need to snake the pipes, that would be just a waste of money. He didn't even charge anything for the visit.

I called StarBoy on short notice in an evening after we had a burst pipe. Denver was great. He told me he'd arrive within 30-45 minutes and he stayed to his word.

Denver's work was great. He inspected the situation and offered two potential paths to resolve the problem. We tried the quicker fix hoping it would work. It didn't and Denver was great cutting and replacing the pipe intersection to fully fix the issue. I appreciated his openness and honesty to try the less expensive path first (even if it didn't work).

Also, Denver started this business and seems to be a great individual. It's always nice to support small businesses and the individuals that take the big leap to do something on their own.

Lastly, there are many more reviews for starboy at the bottom of the yelp listing. It's odd the yelp shows 0 reviews and marks the other positive reviews as not recommended.

I've added StarBoy to my phone and will call them for any future plumbing needs Highly recommended!

Can I just take the easy way out & echo what everyone else has said here? We had a severe plumbing issue--a kitchen sink filled with black water that hadn't drained, even overnight. We called Starboy in the morning and Denver, the owner, was here by mid-afternoon. He quickly located the problem in the pipes in our basement & explained our options for fixing it. We chose the easiest & less expensive option, and Denver went to work. I watched what he did and all the effort he put into it. It seemed like he was devoting hours to the problem but in reality he was here for only a little over an hour. And when he was done, the clogged sink was a distant, ugly memory. What can I say? Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend StarBoy plumbing. Dickson Lim - a plumber through StarBoy did a large job for my partner and I in December, including snaking a main pipeline to remove a blockage. I had a small draining issue with another sink today, and called StarBoy to come and check out the problem. The customer services representative picked up the phone right away, and scheduled an appointment for the same day (She was very helpful and pleasant to speak with!). The plumber actually came earlier than expected, saw that our issue was a small easy fix - and cleared it immediately! Anytime I will have an issue in the future, StarBoy will 100% be my plumbing service I call!

We needed a new sewer lateral as part of a home project we had been working on over the course of the past 2 years. Timing was essential as the next phase of our project was to pour new concrete within a short period of time. The sewer lateral would need to be placed prior to the concrete pour. We purchased a washlet for our bathroom. The area where the toilet sits is tight (between a cabinet and a wall). We didn't realize that the water valve stuck out so far from the wall and the washlet wouldn't fit. We called Starboy Plumbing, and Denver came out within half an hour. He is a friendly, polite, and conscientious person, e.g. he wiped the steps when he dripped water on them. In the past we'd been over charged for services by other places, so we were on guard about what it might cost for this job and being taken advantage of, however his fee was reasonable for the work done. Denver worked steadily, and cleaned up after himself well. We'll keep his number on file.

(As the reviewer below me had mentioned, Starboy Plumbing has numerous reviews that don't populate and are labeled as not recommended which is a complete head scratcher because all of his reviews are positive, and rightly so.)

My experience with star boy plumbing was disappointing.
I contacted them for a quote for a plumbing issue that I already had gotten a quote from by another company (discount plumbing). To their credit they responded quickly and sent someone quickly.
The plumber seemed to know this competitor and he said he would do the same price, which was annoying because it felt like they were colluding.
There were a few moments when I felt the person was trying to take advantage of me. My issue was a single clog on the main pipe outside the house but the plumber tried to tell me I had two clogs which was incorrect. When I corrected him he because quite defensive and told me he knew better than me.

He then told me that the piping outside my house had issues and that I should invest in a $10k+ redo of the piping.

In the end I contacted another company (fast response plumbing) and they solved the issue for half the price that was quoted without trying to oversell me.

I'm glad I continued to shop around.

I called and asked for someone to come out to fix my clogged sink. I spoke to the first person and gave them all my information and then a scheduling person called me and offered to have a plumber come out at 6-8pm on a Friday which I agreed to. The plumber then showed up at 4:10 and expected me to be home. I explained that the appointment was scheduled for 6-8 and he continued to insist that the company doesn't work past 5 on Fridays but said his boss would call me back to schedule someone else to come out from 6-8. The boss called me back and was not helpful at all, after an argument about scheduling the manager told me he didn't want to take my call. It was ridiculously unreasonable. I was more than willing to have it scheduled another time but this company wouldn't take responsibility for their mistake. I will never use them again.

Household plumbing backed up on a weekend so regular plumber wasn't available. My son found Starboy online and we arranged for them to come. They were totally incompetent: couldn't find the proper clean-out, snaked directly into the septic tank (bypassing the plumbing clog), then wanted over $1200 for a special kind of blow-out (with the caveat that it can damage plumbing!)
Regular plumber came on Monday and cleared it in ten minutes.

I called Starboy plumbing to help me out with an emergency water tank replacement. They came out within a few hours of me calling to give me a quote. I thought the price was on the high side, but as I was hosting a dinner party and needed hot water, I didn't have much of a choice. That said, I did feel that they did an honest job, replacing the water tank with a new high quality one, and even took care of another plumbing issue while they were here. I've had mixed experiences with plumbers in the past, but Starboy was great, and I won't hesitate to call Starboy again in the future.

Our kitchen sink had stopped draining for two weeks, and we quoted for different companies since this was the first time we had this problem. They offered snake and even opening the wall to redo the pipes in the kitchen which was extremely expensive.
And then we quoted Starboy Plumbing Inc and they sent Kelvin to help us. Kelvin tested our sink and immediately told me that it's grease and gave us two options: drain snake and pressure water. He then told us that the snake will only drill a hole in the grease so we might get clogged again in the near future, and pressure water can do a better job and also they have a six month warranty to fix it if it happens again. The price of these two options are very reasonable.
Then we decided to go with the pressure water option. Kelvin did an very professional job and switched different jet heads to clear it. Although the jet cannot make it all the way down, the kitchen sink now works perfectly. He told us it might be stopped by a sharp turn or could be the grease had been solid within the pipe, and they need to open the wall to replace the pipe for the second case. But we can use our sink and see whether it is the second case.
We really appreciate Kelvin for giving us professional and considerable advices, and explaining things very clearly. Not like other plumbers to give one very expensive option. He also cleaned everything before leaving.
This is an very satisfying experience and would definitely recommend this company to others.

After installing my new kitchen sink faucet I discovered that one of my wall angle taps could not be removed with my small amount of plumbing knowledge. I called four different plumbing companies around 3:00pm on a Saturday and none of them could fit me in. When I called Starboy Plumbing the owners took my name address and phone number and let me know one of their plumbers would be there in an hour. I got a text message stating that the plumber was on his way. At 4:15 two men arrived, took a look at my sink and gave me the price for their service. Since I had inquired about the repair from others I was not surprised at their price. It was fair.

The technician was quick and professional and the other tech was courteous and clear. I'm a Japanese American and appreciate that this plumbing firm is Asian owned. I will recommend them to others.

I've had such a great experience with Starboy over the past couple of days. My kitchen sink suddenly stopped draining. I jumped on Yelp and put out requests for estimates and even though it was well into the evening heard back from Denver within minutes. He had a plumber, Dickson, at my house the next morning. The problem turned out to be more extensive (and expensive) than I thought so I decided to get a second opinion. The second quote was much more expensive. In addition, I can see now with all the work done that what the second plumber was proposing wouldn't have taken care of the issue. Dickson returned the next day and did all the work efficiently and expertly, keeping me informed every step of the way. He and his assistant were excellent about safety (masks, etc) and took a lot of extra care to make sure my hardwood kitchen floor didn't get damaged in any way. I will absolutely call Starboy again if I have any future problems.

Dickson and Denver did a fantastic job with a major issue that I had. They gave me an accurate diagnosis of the problem and how to fix it. The job included making a hole in my neighbor's ceiling to replace a waste and drain pipe. Their professionalism gave us peace of mind. I wanted to wait a bit before writing this review because I wanted to see the final results of Denver's work. About a month ago, my kitchen sink, bathtub, and bathroom sink stopped draining because of a clog in the main pipe. I found Starboy Plumbing through yelp and I gave them a try because of the great reviews. Denver came within the hour and immediately started working while walking us through every part of the process. You can tell that even though this was a newer company, Denver was an experienced problem solver. He was friendly and was sharing his work experiences with us while working on our problem. It turned out our clog was only accessible under the crawl space and he went in there and took care of business. It's been a month now and my kitchen, bathtub and bathroom sink are still draining well. Thank you Denver for a job well done.

Had a shower pipe problem, called Starboy from a Google search.

Pros:
- Really good with availability, someone was able to come within an hour of my phone call on a Sunday.
- Good service, the manager that spoke to me over the phone was really polite.
- Free estimates. Its a local small business, so if they make a visit to your house to inspect the issue, there's pressure to give them some money for their trip. I gave $40 for a 2 minute inspection. If it was a corporate plumber, there's no reason to feel bad about receiving a free inspection.

Cons:
- I believe they charge more than average. Arvin quoted minimum of $350 for simple drywall demolition (For reference, other contractors charge less than $200 for drywall demolition). If we wanted to remove the fiberglass of the shower wall, he quoted at least double that charge.

I ended up not proceeding with them, but still commend them for good service in the Bay Area, and would consider them in the future for an emergency.

Super quick response time. They did a good job. Because they needed to add an elbow bend pipe in to connect the water to the toilet, it ended up being $300 or so over the estimate. I know little about the cost of plumbing these days, but the total bill seemed pretty high. The workman seemed ready to give up in the first 5 minutes, and never bothered with a mask indoors. It all felt a bit unprofessional. But it worked.

I'm a first time landlord and the tenants reported a clogged waste pipe. The plumber (different one) reported that it could not be cleared and the sewer lateral needed to be replaced. I needed to get it cleared asap for the tenants, but that's an expensive repair, so I found another plumber for a competing quote. Starboy had good reviews and could come quickly. Their estimate was a good deal more than the first plumber, but they had a suspicion the trenchless method recommended by the first might not work. They said they could do the job more quickly, so I went with Starboy. There were some scheduling issues, and after the initial jetting it backed up again before they were due to return for the full replacement. They tried to jet it again, but the pipe collapsed. They had to replace the upper section of the lateral, which they could not do right away. A landlord can't leave tenants without fully functional plumbing so I called the office to try to expedite it. They ended up moving their schedule and returned the following day to replace a small section of the lateral, then a few days later for the rest of the upper lateral. The section under the street had to wait. That solved the problem until they could complete the job. There were a few issues with scheduling that had to be worked through, but they had a clear commitment to doing the job right, and ultimately to making sure we were satisfied. Thank you Dickson and Denver.

Starboy Plumbing communicates promptly, courteously, and they fixed the issue at the end of the day. However, they did not heed my initial description of a leak that I said was coming from behind the dishwasher. Though I reiterated that description on their visit, they checked elsewhere and concluded the leak I was experiencing was a broken pipe.

On their next visit, they broke the wall beneath the sink where they expected the broken pipe. Instead, they found the pipe unbroken though the leak still continued. They finally moved the dishwasher, demo'd that wall as well, and found that my plumbing utilized 3 branches. One of which was unused and uncapped. A clog in the main drain caused the water to overflow and spill through the uncapped branch of the plumbing. They unclogged the main pipe and capped the unused branch.

While I am happy that the water leak has been fixed, I am disappointed with how the issue was assessed. If they took the effort on checking where I had described the issue was, they might not have had to demolish the wall beneath my sink. I had to pay for that, and in different circumstances, pay for the repair of the wall. Starboy is quite pricey, and I expected better diligence on their part. Again, they're prompt, courteous and skilled. But their complacency increased the cost of the repair significantly.

Woke up to find my water heater leaking. Called Starboy because he had good reviews and he came right over with an estimate and replaced it the same day. He also unclogged a sink in the bathroom at no extra charge. It was nice to have the owner doing the work instead of an employee who may not have the same motivation to do a good job. The owner, Denver, is friendly and takes time to explain things. He is now my go-to plumber.

I had a fantastic experience with Starboy Plumbing. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and fast! They came out for an estimate but were able to exchange my sink pipe on the same day (the existing one was non-compliant). Pricing was transparent and reasonable, and they even were able to help me find the water shut-off that I've been trying to find for weeks. Couldn't be happier with the service!

Starboy Plumbing has rescued our building so many times over the years! Today the hot water heater died. They were able to come over and assess the situation, go out and buy a new one, and then install it all in the same day. Dickson and his crew were very friendly and professional. We had an issue with high humidity in our home and suspected that there may possibly be a leaking pipe within the walls somewhere in the house. We called Starboy Plumbing to come out to see if they could help us diagnose the issue. At the same time, we also wanted to ask about hydrojetting the drains in our home.

We had a guy come out but it was a pretty painful experience dealing with him. He didn't seem to understand what I was trying to tell him and kept asking me where the leak in my house was. I repeatedly told him that I didn't know if there was even a leak at all and asked if he had a device that could detect leaks through walls, as I had heard from several people that plumbers typically have such a device. The guy confirmed that yes, they did have this kind of device so I was like ok...well could you use it? To this, he just seemed extremely confused and didn't answer for several minutes until I asked him what the issue was and then he said he would have to call his manager. He went outside and called his manager and came back in 10 minutes later saying that they would come back tomorrow. Ok. Well, the next day came and we didn't get any confirmation text that we had an appointment scheduled and it was only after my husband called the office a couple of times asking for an update that we heard back from the owner. The owner was nice enough and told my husband that he didn't think he could help us with our problem and didn't think that the issue was a leak because there wasn't any visible signs of it. While we appreciated his candor and not wanting to waste any of our time or money, this would have been nice if it was properly communicated by the first guy that came to our residence.

In addition, when the first guy was over, I had asked him about flushing the pipes. He misunderstood what I was asking about and kept saying he would snake the shower drain in one of our bathrooms. I told him I didn't need snaking services as there wasn't a clog I was trying to get rid of, I just wanted to do hydrojetting to remove any calcium deposits that were in the pipes. He seemed to be very confused about what I was asking about here as well.

Overall, this would have been a one star review based on my experience with the first guy alone. But the convo with the owner on the second day salvaged it a bit.

This week, I had an unknown leak from copper pipes in my Doelger home. I contacted Starboy Plumbing and within 30 minutes, the owner, Denver Lim arrived. Denver was patient and persistent locating the leak, offering menu driven solutions and pricing along with precise scheduling and turnaround times. The next day, Denver arrived ready to battle aging pipes, shoddy workmanship inherited from years gone by and unforgiving sheet rock. After a long day, I arrived home and my pipes were replaced with US steel pipes, steller workmanship and secure bracing. Denver met my schedule, budget and exceeded my expectations. Denver was awesome - I've found my new SF plumber.

He gave me 2 options to complete the work. I chose one, we agreed on a price, and said he could come back in an hour with the materials.

Removed a sketchy old 1/2 gas line running to my range that a previous homeowner installed, and replaced it with a new one. Ran the new 3/4 line up near the joists in my crawlspace using megapress connections, and tested with a gas leak detector.

His invoice had a bunch of photos. Friendly, efficient, reasonably priced. Really happy with the work.

Denver is amazing! I had a botched bathroom sink faucet install after hiring someone from TaskRabbit and my sink had started to leak. Denver took my last minute, same-day request and was able to fix AND replace the drain pipe with quality parts (unlike my tasker). He was so nice and patiently explained/showed me where the issues were. He also charged my LESS THAN the tasker and did an exceptional job (super fast too). The work also includes a warranty! Definitely recommend using this plumbing service and I will absolutely contact again if I have any other issues!

It's been the craziest 2 days! But, if you ever need a professional, reliable, honest, plumber, with a super cool owner and hard working technicians, call Starboys! They get shit done!!! ‍

In desperation I originally called Smelly Mels at 10 pm Sunday night and they guaranteed me a technician first thing the next morning. They sent me a text confirmation, and a picture of who will show up to do the work. I was given an expensive quote, but in desperation I agreed to the work. The technician was very professional and hard working, and spent time trying to do the job. After 4 hrs he was not able to execute what I originally hired him for, so he had suggestions on another expensive job of digging underground to repair a pipe, but ended up charging me double for the days work. He also advised us NOT to use toilets, sinks, or showers through the night until the next day after the job was done. I paid and that was that.

Luckily and thankfully, after Smelly Mels left, my mom made a few phone calls and was connected with Starboys! They showed up in 30 minutes at 5 pm, despite it already getting dark, and came 2 Van's deep with 4 technicians! They took really great care of us, guided us through every step of their work, and even let us watch their pipe line endoscopy. They said if they don't execute their job, they do not charge! They were unbelievably professional, fast, efficient, and their uniform gear was pretty cool too! Total Starboys! They did the job in an hour, charged way less and we were happy with their immediate transparent work ethic. We hired them on the spot to do the remaining job the following day (today) of a underground pipe repair that was damaged over time, earth shifting, and root growth. They worked hard, and worked fast, and completed the job beautifully, charging $650 less than what Smelly Mels already quoted us yesterday.

You never realize how blessed you are until something we take for granted gets taken away from you, even for a day!!

We were thankfully blessed with the superb service of Starboy plumbing! Thank you Dear Lord Baby Jesus!

Super pleased with work. I can usually DIY my plumbing but I knew I needed a pro for this job. Saw the great reviews and set up appointment and they were available the next day. They were early and were able to diagnose the issue and give me a reasonable solution and quote. Cleaned up after themselves nicely and used a scented cleaner which left a nice smell. Great Service. Very professional, wore masks while in my home, quoted two levels of service to get me fixed. I had a clogged main line in my house. They said they could snake it for cheaper, but it could come back. They also recommended an extra level of cleaning that would be guaranteed for 6 months. It took a little over an hour and fixed everything. Drains have never flowed so well. They had a time slot the same day and even had a time slot open even earlier.

I contacted Starboy Plumbing to provide an estimate for a couple of jobs that were accumulating in the house: installation of a new water line and spigot for hose attachment; replacement of a leaking bathtub drain pipe; and clearing a clogged outdoor drain pipe. Denver was very responsive and was able to organize a free estimate very quickly. After obtaining a couple estimates, I decided to go with Starboy, since Denver made a good impression and provided a competitive estimate for all of the work in which I was interested. Last night one of our kitchen sinks started backing up so I called Starboy this morning and they were able to come an hour later for a free estimate. Denver came on time and gave me options. We decided to go with them because they came out right away and was able to come back later in the afternoon to hydro jet 2 kitchen sink lines along with the main line to the sewer. We've never had our kitchen pipes cleaned for at least 5 years so the buildup in the pipes was there. Denver and his brother were on time, professional and clean. I had a slow leak in the pipes under my kitchen sink, which was hidden from my sight for a long time because of the storage that sat in front of it. I contacted Starboy via Yelp late at night, and the next morning, they gave me a window of time to come by for an estimate that very day. Arvie arrived punctually in the morning, and I gave him the go-ahead to do the work.

They replaced the p-trap and some other pipes. Everything is working great again, and their work is warrantied for one year. I will definitely work with them again.

i could not be happier with the service i got from Starboy pluming. The water heater stopped working and needless to say i needed it fixed right away. I called 3 other people, one of them my own handyman who was not available, the other 2 were 5 star plumbing services on Yelp, who both came gave me a ridiculously high price without even looking at the water heater.
Star Plumbing communication was perfect, they scheduled an appointment within hours, and kept me updated on the status via text and e-mail. Andrew showed up on time, very polite young man, very professional. He gave me a quote, which was reasonable compared to the others, once i accepted, he went to buy the heater, showed up in couple of hours, and installed it, cleaned up the area, and left. They are guaranteed their work for 14 months.
I usually don't write positive yelp reviews, but this time, i feel i had to. Highly recommend Starboy and Andrew to others.

Had a leak at the side of my house, coming from a busted pipe inside a wall. Denver showed up on time, quickly diagnosed the issue and made sure he knew where the leak was before proceeding. He didn't go in tearing stuff apart just to find it. He methodically located it, repaired it and did an excellent job. He even went above and beyond by helping clean up the area that was taken apart.

The 2 star is for overpricing. They charged me $1000 to replace the main valve. ( see photos)
In order to build good business reputation, aside from having good skills and knowledge, one should have professional ethics. It happened on a Sunday when most of the places are closed. I have a regular plumber but he was out of town. It was Mr Looter 24/7 plumbing service who gave me the telephone number of Starboy. I knew I was being overcharged but I have tenants in the apartment units, I was very desperate and anxious to have it fixed right away so the water supply would come back. It was ok, not until the plumber, Dickson, who repeatedly said I would be charged even more if I have someone else to come for the repair. He wants to justify the $1000 and he thinks I was born yesterday. I wonder if they have returning customers....

Denver came to our home 3 times in 1 day to insure that our toilet installation was satisfactory. He did not have to do this because the problem with the installation was due to a defect in the tank and not to his installation. Thus I would say he went above and beyond the call of duty of his service. He was also a friendly and affable person. So I would use him again and recommend him to others.

We had Starboy out last week to repair an Angle Stop. Juan and Chris came out and gave us a free estimate. They immediately found the issue and were very transparent about pricing and were in and out in 5 minutes, which was great for us as they did not disturb our renters. We did another estimate with another company later that day. By contrast, Discount Plumbing turned out to be anything but. First, the guys did the whole dog and pony show, umm-aww, could be something really bad, we need to do a pressure test, then this, then this, then this. Oh, and while we are at it, we should also do all these things to your bathrooms and, so on, and on and on. I would like to thank them for making our decision easy. Juan and Chris came back a couple of days later, fixed the issue, did a little extra work without adding to the invoice and were, basically, as good as it gets. As a landlord, I have seen the good the bad and the really ugly when it comes to service organizations, especially plumbers. Obviously, it is really hard to figure out many plumbing issues, so very easy to get taken for a ride. Over the years, I have picked up a decent amount so have a reasonable BS meter. These guys were legit - our other guys were far from it! What I appreciated about Starboy, Juan, Chris and the owner Denver was their transparency, some free advice, rather than trying to confuse us and upsell us. They were in and out and even dealt spectacularly with our incredible difficult management company. The guys deserve 10 out of 5 for service and excellence. They will be our go-to plumber from here on out.

A huge tree root broke my water main and I needed a professional plumber. My regular goto plumber was busy so I found Starboy Plumbing online.
The owner and his partner came out within the hour, found the problem and took cared of it. It was a big job, but they had all the tools and skill to repair the problem. They cut through 6 of concrete and a 8 wide tree root. Reconnected a new pipe and poured new concrete on my sidewalk. There are less expensive plumbers out there but they don't have the skill, courtesy, and professionalism that Starboy has. All their work is also guaranteed.
You get what you pay for. Do it right and get it done once. Starboy is my new goto plumber from now on.

Andrew Alba was sent to help us unclog our bathroom sink. He was very considerate of our home while he was working. Unfortunately our pipe needed to be fully replaced so he had to break through our wall to reach, remove, and replace the old rusty pipe. I was panicking! My hot water heater broke. My shut off valve for both my hot water and gas were both stripped. I tried to shut of my main water valve and it did not work either. It was about 4:30 pm and I called Starboy plumbing. They came to my house in less than 15 minutes. They shut off water to the house replaced the waterheater and fixed all the valves. As soon as they arrived I knew they had everything under control. They had the water heater in their truck and within a couple hours everything was fixed!

Our hot water heater rusted out. Called a bunch of plumbers but got a recording. Denver from Starboy answered right away. He was able to come same day and replaced our water heater. Our basement was swept and hosed down and looked better than it did after they were done. Later that evening I called because water was not hot. Overcharged significantly for the work!

PG&E told me I have a very small leak in the pipe going from the meter through my wall into the garage and I needed to get a plumber to fix it. Thankfully I've owned homes for over 40 years and never had to hire a plumber before. But considering this was gas I decided to call a professional Starboy had good reviews so I called them. I had already opened the wall and exposed the pipe all that was needed was to replace a ~ 8 length of pipe and reconnect it to the meter. First guy showed up rather promptly which was great. Nice guy but said I don't do gas but my partner does. After a call he estimates the price to be about $675. To which I said, look, I'm not a plumber but I don't understand your price? Seems like $50 or less worth of parts and 30 minutes, Why is it so expensive, what am I missing? He says I'm really not sure that is the best I can do. My partner says he can come over and take a look. 30 minutes later Denver shows up and tells me that the other guy was wrong it will be more like $1,100, says that they have insurance, vacation pay, blah blah blah and they have the liability of damage if anything goes wrong. All sounds very expensive. Says that to him. Same question - why so much its only..... his answer is I have all the parts on hand, I'll use only the best mega press fittings and have it done today. Guaranteed PG&E will approve the work. I'm astounded at the cost but also have no hot water or gas for shower etc. so I say screw it do the work. He says he'll give me a discount since I didn't get a second estimate. Only $890. Knowing I'm stuck I just shut up and watched them do the work. They lubed and installed three 90's and two small pieces of pipe total work time about 30 minutes including one mega press fitting. When he was finished the meter was all jacked up because the guy he was training didn't know how to work the union fittings properly. Hated the experience but I could call PG&E and get the gas back on now.

PGE shows up, great guy, tells me he's sorry the other guy said to hire a plumber it was a simple 10 pipe. Said probably cost me $150 - $200 knowing what plumbers charge. I said $890. He said are you kidding, that guy is a thief. This is a 30 minute job at most and they left the meter all jacked up and then added, I'm sorry but I would never call that place again if I was you. He fixed their work, replaced the old meter and put in a new one and again said he was sorry I had to use that plumber.

Denver from Starboy calls me the next day to confirm that PGE returned service and to collect. I told him what the guy said and he replied, what do you think you should pay. I said I thought a fair price would be $150-200 but that to get this over I would double that and pay him $400. He said no way he can do that but he would adjust his bill to $600 if that would make me happy. I said $200 would make me happy but $600 was better than $890 so I paid that and considered it an expensive lesson. HE had the nerve to ask me if I would give him five stars if he dropped the price to $600 - I ignored the comment.

Summary - these guys ripped me off and I was retty sure of that from the start, but they had me over a barrel and I had to get the service restored so my family have hot water / gas back. They clearly overpriced their work and took advantage and I would never consider them again for work of any kind!

I called 5-6 vendors to install a quake gas shutoff valve and nobody wanted to take our small residential project. Denver didn't size it up - he just wanted to help. He came by, installed the device, explained how it worked and even recut and fixed the pipes which another vendor had positioned incorrectly. I forgot to keep the receipt to get my homeowner insurance discount... he delivered a copy to me later. Who does that? Seriously - Denver loves his work and takes pride. He's a problem solver and I even have him in my contacts list. I feel so much safer knowing the gas will shut off in a quake and trust Denver's work.

Being a homeowner is a blessing and a curse. When you have maintenance issues, it can be such a pain and also put a dent in your wallet. Yet, you really have no choice. Especially in the case of a plumbing issue. Unless you have the equipment and knowledge to fix it yourself, your best bet is to hire a professional. That's just what we did.

Our sewer main had gotten clogged and the grey water/sewage started backing up a little in our garage. Unsanitary and smelly as you can imagine. I was able to request a quote from Starboy via Yelp. They answered my message right away even though it was after hours. I ended up having my husband speak to the Starboy rep, since my husband knows a lot more about construction and plumbing than I do. They arranged for someone to come out the next day.

Dickson from Starboy showed up promptly at our appointment time. He was polite, professional and ready to get to work. He snaked the line to see if it would eliminate the clog. This took several attempts but the pipe was still a bit backed up. Then he asked my husband if we were willing to pay for a sewer line camera inspection. We agreed. Dickson was able to determine that there were some tree roots causing the blockage as well as the sewer lateral not having a good slope for flow. The next solution was to call in a hydrojet to flush the sewer line. We had no choice at this point, so again we agreed to the added cost. Through all the steps, Dickson explained everything and quoted the costs. He was honest and helpful. From our personal experience with a different plumbing company named Genteel, they always tried to scam us. Their quotes were high and each time they showed up, the job was done incorrectly and then they would try to get us to fix something else that didn't need fixing. Anyway, Starboy was a much better experience by far.

Shortly after, another Starboy truck came out with the hydrojet. They flushed the line and in a matter of minutes, there was no more flooding in our garage. Dickson even helped us clean up a bit. The total cost was a bit under $1600. It was an average cost for this service. In the end, our plumbing issue was solved and we were incredibly happy to be able to run our sinks, showers, toilets and washer again!

First of all, Denver and his crew are really nice and very responsive. I've used them four times now, and after each project I'm left with disappointment. I never seem to get what I want, and more often than not, I'm getting talked into something else. Plumbing issues tend to be more urgent, and I didn't have many options other than to go with their recommendation. Our water heater went out recently, and I wanted to replace it with a hybrid. I was told it was an expensive install, and I didn't have the right power voltage, etc...I was willing to replace it with a similar gas unit as long as it was Energy Star rated and had digital controls. I got neither, and instead was sold a basic Rheem with poor controls and no display. Value? I was charged $2,600 for the Rheem 50 gal gas appliance, with a 45 minute install time on-site.

I'd been procrastinating getting a trap installed in my bathroom sink drain. One day, about a week ago, I found on my doorstep a flyer for a new plumbing company, Starboy. Normally, I just discard flyers, but this seemed like the perfect opportunity to take care of the drain trap once and for all. So, I called the number on the flyer. The owner, Denver Lim, answered and said he's on a job but that he'd call me back around 1pm, which he did. He said he could visit right away to give me an estimate and, if I wanted, to install the trap. I said yes. In 20 or 30 minutes, he arrived. We discussed the drain trap, what parts he planned to use, and how he planned to install it. He asked if I wanted an estimate. I said yes. He wrote up an estimate. I read it and asked him if he could start right away. He said yes. A few minutes later, he told me he was done. That was fast. He demonstrated to my satisfaction that the drain doesn't leak. I inspected the new trap. It looks fantastic (a quality you don't really need in a trap) -- smooth, shiny metal parts. I expect it will do its job for many decades. I wrote a check, and Denver asked me so politely to write a review, which I'd been planning to do anyhow. (He didn't advise me on how to write the review; I wouldn't have written a review if he had.)

If I need plumbing work done in the future, I'll certainly contact Starboy.

Did a search on Yelp and came across Starboy Plumbing two weeks ago due to a sudden leak under my kitchen sink. I have an old house with old corroded pipes. Spoke with Denver Lim of Starboy Plumbing. He and his brother arrived within 2 hours (on time as promised, keeping me updated re: his ETA via text message). Upon arrival, he provided me with a best case scenario quote and potential worse case scenario quote, which I really appreciated.

Denver kept the work area clean, got the job done in under an hour (with the help of his apprentice brother David), and to date, all is working great.

They were fast and fixed the problem quickly.
However they didn't really leave the place in a clean condition.
Not sure about the cost of service not having done any comparative quote but it seems pretty steep to me.

Chris and Juan were awesome, they came early for the free estimate. Day of job they were on time. Friendly guys and they do great work, I can tell because I installed the prior water heater which lasted 20 years. So I know a little about water heater installs.
They did a good job cleaning after and breaking down the pricing on the invoice. Would def recommend Starboy plumbing.

I have a leak on my house that dry rot my wall and windows suppports. First, another contractor came and did some patching but when it rain, it leaks again so my coworker recommended Denver of Starboy Plumbing to help me diagnose the problem. Denver was able to find the real source of leak and recommended solution even recommending other company that specialized in windows replacement instead of doing it himself. He is honest and aim to help fix the problem than just making money. I also found out that he actually is a contractor that do remodeling of houses.

Since we moved in 17 years ago, there's been a vice grip attached to my main water valve which we use to turn the main water line on/off at my house. Not surprisingly, that's not working well any longer and I needed to have the valve replaced. Thank goodness for Starboy Plumbing! Starboy was the only plumber that wanted to work at 7pm at night on a Wednesday evening for our backflow in our garage. I called 12 plumbers and not a single company, even the 24 hour plumbers, were available. Starboy's dispatch said they will send a technician out in 30 minutes and the technician Arvin came within 30 minutes. Once the technician assessed the situation, the owner Denver came shortly thereafter with the hydro jet truck and camera, and our drain was working again. Denver and Arvin are sincere, hard working, thorough, carry the latest equipment, and well deserving of the price they need to charge to keep their employees happy and motivated to work.

Starboy's technician's were great! Denver and his partner did a great job untangling a huge knot of pipes & relocating our water heater. They were thoughtful about the work and made sure our water & gas were back on ASAP, which was really nice. They were thorough with safety (re-connecting grounding wires etc properly) and it was nice & unexpected to have a supervisor stop by to inspect the work before they left. Starboy came out to my house in san Bruno recently and quoted $1,000 to replace the angle valve and fill valve for 2 toilets in the bathrooms. I thought the price was outrageous and did not want to proceed. The owner got on the phone and negotiated to $500 for the job. I let them do it even though it was still expensive and I just wanted the problem fixed. The job took less than an hour compared to 2 hours originally estimated. No materials included, btw.

Starboy came out to evaluate our tankless water heater. Quoted over $5,000. I told them that I wanted to talk it over with my husband who was not home at the time. I wanted to get a competitive bid since I noticed that their quote basically came to $600+/hour for labor for what they told me was a 4-5 hour job. They said no problem. But they immediately called my husband and talked him into giving them a credit card. When my husband came home 10 minutes later, he called and asked them to not charge our card and also emailed them for the same. 2 days later I checked our credit card and Starboy charged us for $5300 and no agreement and no work was ever performed! Super dishonest.

Denver, you asked who on earth would charge a credit card without doing the work? My answer: a dishonest scammer! You should have your license revoked. We are disputing the charge with our credit card company and providing them with evidence.

BTW, we got it fixed from Fast Response Plumbing for $125.

Denver and Arby of Starboy Plumbing did a great job installing my water heater. Very professional and friendly. They explained the process as they worked, and gave me options on how I would like them to set up the water heater, and also gave their recommendations.

I first met Denver because I needed a gas line shut-off valve installed for my new dryer. After he did that job, we talked about my water heater, which was nearly 30 years old! He gave me several options and quotes, and rather than try to upsell me, he asked me what my water needs are, and recommended the appropriate heater for those needs (was the lowest priced option).

While you never want to have a plumbing issue, if you do, give Starboy Plumbing a call!

Although the plumber cleared the sink pipe with a snake after attempting to open the clean out pipe and checking the basement pipes, he constantly tried to sell me services I didn't need such as replacing all plumbing pipes under the sink. He claimed that they will leak after he takes all of them off and install them back together. The pipes are in good condition. I told him he only needs to disconnect the one pipe attached to the wall which he did with no problem. As of now, they are still not leaking.

Before finding out the condition of the plugged sink pipe, he was already trying to sell me the $800 acid pour down liquid like substance before trying to use the snake.

If I hadn't been knowledgeable in plumbing, he would have sold me new plumbing and the acid like pour down for around $1,000.

I won't be using Starboy anymore.

I think people don't realize the job plumber have.
Ones you find a good one ( like Denver from Starboy Plumbing ) its like a having a good dentist or car mechanic .
You can call him anytime any day, always here when you need it.
Now it's been the 3 times that have little or big plumbing problem. I called him, he give me a 4 hrs time. He show up big smile and remember me.
Did the job, we talk about plumbing and other things.
Great guys, very clean and most important very professional.

I just moved into a new home with leaking sinks that were supposed to have been fixed by a handyman. However, they are still leaking and I found Starboy. After a brief diagnosis, I was told they messed up on all my new pipes and they needed to be replaced. They were efficient and thorough. They even helped me negotiate with the non licensed handyman (recommended to me by my real estate agent) who refused to admit fault and it was very kind of them. They were so helpful, patient and sympathetic with my situation. Definitely kind people who are very professional. Never ever go to someone not licensed even if it is recommended by someone. Found Starboy when I couldn't ignite my 10+ yrs water heater. Denver responded and came out right away even though it was 7:30pm on Father's Day. Anyways, he came over and was able to replace the water heater within 1 hour. I really didn't expect he would have a new water heater readily available and could do the replacement so quickly. He even had a gas leak meter to ensure there were no leak from the gas line to the new water heater...I am impressed by his thoroughness and attention to safety.

Really appreciate the great work and quick turnaround. From realizing I couldn't ignite my water heater to calling Starboy to come out and take a look to replacing the water heater took 2 hours (literally). It was the fastest repair/replacement work I have ever experienced.

We had water leakage issue with the sprinkler system. Denver Lim told me that it was caused by the malfunction of two valves. He asked for $1,200 to replace them or $350 for the visit. I agreed to $1,000 to replace the two valves. He replaced them and the leakage continued. The leakage had nothing to do with two valves! He didn't resolve the problem but still asked me to pay $1,000 because he did the replacement. He is an incompetent and greedy plumber!

STAY AWAY FROM DENVER LIM!!!
