We have a raised jacuzzi spa that sits about 3 feet above the pool waterline, and dammit if we don't have a massive crack running the full length of one wall. The 1984 style construction features a skinnier-than-code dam wall, and frankly, we've had a gang of tremors over the last 10 years. We first explored a full renovation, but during COVID times (a) everyone charges double, and (b) no one is available for 6 months. It's almost summer in LA! Let's be honest, it's always summer in LA and we need this fixed stat.
So we tried the rest, and then we found the best. So Cal Leak Detection answered our call immediately. Chris was super knowledgable on the phone and has an almost decade long experience in the business. We chatted over the phone, FaceTimed to review the damage, and then agreed on a price. Chris was at our house literally 90 minutes later. Equipped with a high-frequency amplified listening device and waterproof microphone, he deftly evaluated not only our spa but the entire pool! Thankfully we only had the one obvious leak at the crack (don't sleep on listening or pressure testing your pipes! we did that years ago before buying the house.)
With a chemistry-kit tackle box, Chris set to mixing waterproof epoxy and caulking gel and took care of the obvious crack, but also touched up a few corners here and there. We have replacement tiles and plan to replace the missing ones along the crack this weekend. Within a couple of hours, we were shaking hands and saying goodbye.
If you're hemorrhaging cash to the water utility, do yourself a favor: call So Cal Leak Detection and get on the good foot. Thanks Chris!
