Extreme professionalism. Sam and Nick were incredible in helping us move our Murphy Bed. They arrived on time, followed COVID protocols, returned the next day to reinstall in our new home and Nick stayed to help hang art work. I was able to schedule Nick to return to help with more things the following week. After the holidays, he will return to help us connect to the nest and ring systems that were installed buy previous owner. Moving is very stressful. Sam and Nick have really helped with the things we can't do on our own. I'm very grateful to have found these gentlemen I can trust. Their work is excellent. They are indispensable.

Now I understand what is meant by exceeds expectations. I think I first knew about Sam Russo back in March. He was booked until this first week in May, and it was well worth the wait. Mr. Russo treated my projects with the same care he would give his own home. You can tell he enjoys his craft, and he has the mind of an engineer - which you need when you have work done on your older home (we are in Curtis Park). He is a natural problem solver and is extremely bright. I will honestly say it was truly a pleasure to have Mr. Russo over to work today. I have never had such a great experience in my 20-years as a homeowner. I know who I will call when I have another project. Thank you Sam!

Sam is just a great guy to have in your contacts. He doesn't try to snow you with all the things he can do, if what you want Don he doesn't feel he can do a good job for you he will decline. If what you need done is in his wheelhouse, he will not only do it, but do an excellent job. I had Sam install an over the range microwave. Oh, no, it isn't that simple! The microwave sits in the corner above my range. It's tricky because microwaves aren't made to be installed that way. Sam had to use part of the support from the old microwave to install the new one! We called Sam to repair a broken closet door and to fix damage done to our wooden bannister. I sent him a few photos over text and he provided accurate cost estimates. While he was here we asked him to fix a piece of trim that came loose and he made time for that last minute fix before he left. I contacted Sam via text about 5 smallish projects--non-working cabinet door hinge, new medicine cabinet install, water-damaged baseboard, poorly working slider, and replacement of a termite-ruined fence board. Great service! Nick showed up to fix a closet door issue and a bedroom door that was having trouble closing. He was able to address both issues and offered to look at any other problems since we had no finished a full hour. He was also able to fix a gate that had trouble closing. Incredibly friendly. Sam was supposed to replace my cabinet door hinges because some of my existing ones were out of shape, but he promptly found out that the new hinges didn't quite fit. Not being one to give up easily, he proceeded to check and fix all my bent old hinges, so now the doors all close perfectly. I feel like I won the lottery finding Sam! We have had him replace light switches, install fans, light fixtures, fix doors, etc. He has done an excellent job on everything, we could not have been happier. His pricing is beyond reasonable, we would have spent three times as much to have an electrician do the same kind of work. He is very knowledgeable and even caught a few potentially dangerous issues with a light switch and some wiring.

Nick came out to do a few projects around our house, including installing some new security cameras, installing a smart switch, realigning one of our doors, and fixing a broken plank on our gate. He was very knowledgeable and got everything done quickly and efficiently. He was transparent about items that he would not be able to do, and even identified a few things that we had not originally identified that were able to be fixed (like our gate latch not aligning properly with the lock, it opens and closes much more smoothly now). Price was very fair and reasonable. Nick conducted himself like a true professional, and he did excellent work. Sam stood out right from the time I was taking quotes from a shortlisted bunch of handymen. He was the most courteous of them all, and there was concise clarity in his text messages. These are things that matter to me and I was inclined to work with him. He scored again when he texted the day prior to communicate a slight change in the start time.

I'm most pleased as I write this testimonial now, just minutes after he got the work done and packed up. Sam and team arrived a little ahead of time, he took care to understand precisely everything we wanted done. And then we realized there were some portions that did not fit into the sequence of things and he educated us about it. He even spoke with our contractor to see if what he was thinking was right. It made complete sense and we decided to hold on to that part until the time was right and he was not going to charge us for the job not done.

In all this, I found Sam to be sincere, hardworking and pleasant to interact with. The job was carried out most efficiently and the place was all cleaned up. Thank you Sam, it was a joy having you over and I'm going to connect with you for the next project.

He arrived wearing a mask, which I greatly appreciate, as I have been religiously quarantining for over 6 months now. AMAZING!! All the Yelp reviews are true. I'm a senior living in a single story home. Simple chores are getting more challenging for me. My wife and I made up a list of about 15 small jobs/repairs that have accumulated over a few months. Looking on Yelp for a handyman, we liked Sam's website and reviews.
He's busy (understandably), but we got an appointment Friday morning. He was punctual. We discussed our need for a handyman periodically. He understood our situation and was willing to help us. He went right to work on our job list - very efficient, lots of experience, friendly, and can recommend someone if a different expertise is needed. He finished our list in just a few hours, with a trip to the local Home Depot. Meticulous and tidy, AND he likes dogs.
We couldn't be more pleased with Sam and his work.

I contacted Sam Russo after reading his raving reviews on Yelp. After moving to Rocklin, we needed our three smart TV's mounted on the wall and the family room large TV to be installed as a home theater with surround sound. I first cancelled the appointment with those expensive home theater company guys who would have charged me an arm and a leg and called Sam Russo. His co-worker Nick along with Sam did an excellent job and we were so happy not to have been charged an arm and a leg. These guys are amazing, courteous and professional and know how to fix, install, and do a lot of things so I urge you to give them a call. They are pretty reasonable as well. I recently had a new bathroom vanity installed and it left gaps on both sides. I coordinated with Sam and he was able to fill the gaps beautifully with a toe kick I purchased that matched the vanity exactly. He also hung an accordian door in my laundry area and replaced the baseboard in my upstairs bathroom. I found Sam to be personable, professional and efficient. Sam has been a huge help! He helped repair/replace a fallen shelf, a set of broken blinds, and a broken garbage disposal. All in a couple short hours.

He was upfront with my quote, fast with responding, on time, and sent pics of his work after it was done. He even took the time to examine an issue w the toilet (the flange was broken and toilet was leaking at the bottom), but he was professional enough to refer me to someone else as it was a little outside his scope. I really respect that he didn't try to fix it without being totally sure he could. Some others might do it and make it worse!

At this point I have hired Sam Russo for so many jobs, its hard to recount them all. It started a little over a year ago when he saved me a fortune in kitchen remodeling costs by being willing to only rebuild the two cabinets that had been lost to water damage, unlike all the other handyman and contractors who where only willing to gut and redo the entire cabinetry in the kitchen. Sam came in and within three days later we had a fully functional kitchen again, with some bonus add on modifications including slide out drawers. At this point I knew Sam was my go to person for any house work I needed done.

Since then he has made my house intelligent (installing Nest, Alexa and several other smart house devices), re-wired and reinstalled smoke detectors, re-screened all of my windows, add security door to front of house and a sliding screen door to back of house.

In his latest stroke of genius he helped make my life easy during my wife's pregnancy by helping with multiple different projects around of remolding and preparing the new child's room by installing new hardwood floor, painting, and best of all, adding a retractable screen door so that we can keep the cats out while still having the door open.

Alll in all, not a single project or idea I wouldn't run by Sam Russo handyman first to see if he would do it. In fact, I have since sent him over to my grandma's house to start helping with her long laundry list of items. Like I said, Sam Russo helps makes life easy, by getting the job done right the first time and with excellent care and precision.

Due to reviews here, I contacted Sam and he gave me a quote for assembling 2 cabinets for my garage. He sent one of his employees Nick for the appointment. Nick arrived on time and was masked up in the garage. I told him he could take it off as I was vaccinated and he said he was too and he was working in the garage anyway. He did not waste any time and got started and was very efficient. He was finished much faster than I could have done it If I wanted to do it. In fact, the next day Sam gave me a refund of some of what I had paid to Nick at the end of the job due to the job requiring less time than anticipated. That was awesome! Whether it be Sam or Nick. I was very happy with this business arrangement.

Sam provides impeccable service and professionalism! I wish I could give him 10 stars!

He was able to (singlehandedly) assemble an 8 foot desk using a countertop for a large workspace in our home office. We discussed how to best support the length in its entirety and he was able to make a quick trip to Home Depot, purchase what was needed for the project, and even more quickly cut the beams to appropriate length and install the whole thing! I requested quotes for this work from multiple handymen in the area and he undoubtedly has the best prices in town.

Sam is easily one of the best handymen to work with as he is friendly, incredibly knowledgable, and fast with his work without compromising quality. He is incredibly thorough and makes sure things are done the right way. He also helped me with a few miscellaneous projects like stabilizing a towel ladder and cutting some kitchen liners. He offers to do more projects if your paid hour(s) come up short (since he is so fast!). I was also able to ask him a few questions and get some advice from him about other home projects; he shares information and tips freely! He cleans up after himself and makes sure everything is vacuumed/wiped down, that his hands are clean when touching your home and belongings, that garbage is taken care of, and is always being mindful where he is stepping and removing his shoes as needed. Because Sam is truly a 5 star handyman, you might have to wait to land on his schedule, but I promise that it is worth the wait and you will be happy with the work and the cost!

Highly recommend Sam for any sort of project you are working on and need some extra assistance with!

Omg, I found my all rounder handyman who can do all he said he can and fast too. Great communicator, great prices, easy going, thorough and efficient on doing his job. I didn't think he can do it all in one day but he did and early too so I can pick up my son from school.

Created me a different location for my attic access (was inside my closet who would want insulation always falling off to their clean clothes) moved to hallway, installed two backyard patio posts, and installed my bifold closet door.

Sam got back to me quickly when I reached out through yelp, and even did a little research on the issue I was trying to fix before coming over. He was able to squeeze me in a little earlier than expected, patched up a hole in our drywall quickly, then was able to give some advice on the rest of the project (which my wife and I were already planning do do ourselves) before he headed out. 100% recommended!

This is a long overdue review. Sam replied in a timely matter and was able to send Nick out about 3 days after. Nick installed 5 lights for me and did it in a timely matter. He was also suppose to install my new kitchen light but upon further inspections, he saw that a part of it started to rust, so he advised I should probably get a replacement since I paid lots of money for it and wanted the best. Super happy he did because I didn't even bother taking the light out and inspecting it. I will have to contact Sam again for the kitchen light replacement and will probably be doing some light switches upgrades too!

Needed to have a security door installed and reached out to a bunch of handymen for estimates. I got some wildly different estimates and some as high as $350! Sam had a very reasonable cost and between that and his glowing yelp reviews decided to go with him. So glad I did. Job was done in about 45 minutes and he even took a look at some electrical issues I have been having at no extra cost. Great guy and look forward to working with him again when jobs comes up that are beyond my skill level. Awesome!!

Hired Sam back in March 2021 for a whole slew of projects before moving into my new home and several times afterwards. Projects included putting up light fixtures, installing plumbing fixtures, curtain rods/curtains for the whole house, blinds, assembling several pieces of furniture, putting up bird deterrent spikes, putting up a fireplace mantle, installing video doorbell. Sam and Nick have both been great. They are personable, prompt, trustworthy, diligent, and have integrity. They have stayed late to finish up work and even came in on a Saturday as they weren't able to finish up the work the day before. They even came out urgently when my movers left me in a pinch with hooking up the washer/dryer. They are always happy to explain the process and give advice. Prices are reasonable and work exceptional. Will definitely hire again and recommend to friends and family.

This is the third time I've utilized Sam. This time it was to replace three parts for my stove top fan. In order to replace the parts, Sam had to tear apart the fan. Despite Inadequate directions from the manufacture, Sam was able to figure it out. He had to make two trips to my house due the manufacture's lack of directions. However, he only charged me for one visit. i highly recommend Sam for handyman work. He is honest, fair and does great work.

I called Sam due to the reviews on Yelp. I needed a few things around the house that needed attention but especially some water damage near the baseboards. Made contact with Sam and sent him some pictures. Long story short, he called me twice, giving feedback on the symptoms of damaged baseboards and walkthrough.

It turns out I did not need him for this visit due to the extent of potential damage but he spent plenty of time giving feedback and assistance over the phone. Remarkable. Sam and Nick are absolute treasures! I contacted Sam through Yelp about installing a bath exhaust fan. He replied promptly and asked some intelligent questions about my project, which impressed me and made me feel confident in his expertise and his attention to detail. I scheduled the work, and on the agreed day Sam and Nick arrived on time and prepared.

Both guys were clearly very skilled and experienced, and their manner was both friendly and professional. Sam is that rarest of rare breeds, a highly skilled craftsman who also understands the importance of good customer service. He listened carefully to my preferences and instructions, and was great about explaining any details that I wanted to know.

The finished work was top notch. Sam described himself as a perfectionist, which does not surprise me given the quality of his work and the care he took during all phases of the project.

Finally I have to add that both Sam and Nick were a pleasure to interact with. They were in my home for half a day, and I never found myself wishing they would hurry up and leave. They were just the nicest guys you could imagine. My new bath fan looks perfect and is working flawlessly, and I'm already planning to call them back for another project, some recessed lighting for my dining room. Thanks Sam and Nick!

I needed to have a dishwasher installed that I had just purchased. Because it was hard wired, the store I had purchased from could not install it. I was left with the task of finding a handy man who could install it for me. I reached out to Sam to install a ceiling fan in my master bedroom, as my current fan was broken and suffering through some of the warmer nights we had been getting lately was not ideal! Sam responded really quickly with a more than fair quote (especially compared to others I received), and was able to come by only a few days later.

I've had some BAD experiences with other handymen and was pleasantly surprised at how easy Sam made this experience. He brought a blanket to lay down under his work area, which I really appreciated since I have a white rug directly beneath the fan. He was able to remove the old fan and install the new one in under an hour, and even explained why the old fan broke so quickly and helped resolve the issue so it wouldn't happen again. He cleaned up the area when he was done and left the old fan in a state in which I could easily dispose of it. He was very polite and personable, and had great customer service.

Sam is a great handyman under any circumstances. That said, given the state of the world right now and the impact all businesses, but especially small businesses, are experiencing due to shelter-in-place restrictions, I'm of the opinion that Sam really is the best option for any handyman related work and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

I contacted Sam, along with several other handyman service providers for a quote on several small projects including furniture assembly, repair of towel racks, and a few outdoor wall hangings. Sam was the first to respond (very quickly) and scheduled us for an appointment with Nick only a few days out. Nick phoned on the day to let me know he was on the way. I showed him the projects and he went to work. He was at our house for 3 hours and completed all the jobs I had lined up plus investigated a couple more. We had our kitchen faucet installed by Nick, and he did such a great job! Let me start by saying we were impressed right from the beginning. For years the only person I would call for ANY repair work on my house was Pete Russo. Simply the best, most knowledgeable, most honest handyman I've ever engaged. Sam was very responsive to my initial inquiry, and we were able to communicate through Yelp to discuss options and decide on what we needed. In the end, we had the ballasts replaced in a light fixture rather than replace the entire fixture. Since it was a smaller job, we were able to get on his schedule within a couple of days. I am always highly skeptical of a perfect review for a person/company/organization. Not that it's impossible but did you really do that great is my thought process.

Well Sam Russo has thrown my skepticism out the window. Imagine, if you will, having your best friends dad come over to your house and just casually whirlwind through repairing everything that's broken. Then imagine that person with a beard and glasses and you have the delightfully talented Sam Russo. I'm extremely cautious of who I invite into my home to do work. So this was a venture into the wild side to invite a handyman from Yelp in. However I cannot say I regret it one bit.

Not only is Sam personable and engaging, he doesn't interact with you as though he is the all knowing technician. He goes out of his way to make sure you understand what he's doing, that he's completing the tasks to your preference and while he moves surprisingly quick he doesn't make you feel like you're wasting his time.

There's a reviewer who has posted that they've considered giving Sam one star to keep him a secret. I absolutely understand their rationale. I definitely feel like I've found a keeper and I'm honestly more than happy to squeeze into his busy schedule (which I now can absolutely understand why it's so busy!). I can't imagine even trying to look for another handyman even half as talented. Thanks for making this so easy Sam!

I would love to keep Sam all to myself but I just had to write a review. He did an amazing job with small projects around my home. We got new shelves in bathrooms, hammocks hung from the ceiling, and a closet revamp with new closet rod and supports. Sam is very polite, professional, fast, and friendly. Called Sam back again because the first door handle was bent and unable to install. We had a hard time getting the company to replace it - unfortunately, the second handle was bent as well. So we have to get another handle and call Sam back -- I told him to charge us for his time anyway, and was told we would not be charged because the job wasn't completed. No fault of Mr. Russo, in fact, his installer was able to straighten the handle, but the thumb turn would not fit on our door. We will try again with new hardware.
His company is our go to for sure. Where do you get such professional service as this? And yes, Sam does have the coolest logo in town. Thank you for your help.

I highly recommend Sam Russo Handyman service! I have used their services for installing my under sink water filtration system and 3 outdoor security cameras which required multiple visits due to the cameras malfunctioning (no fault of the handyman service--I exchanged the cameras)--In fact Nick goes the extra mile in helping set up the security system. Any other company would have charged me a lot more for when they came out but couldn't complete the visit due to the camera issues, but they didn't charge me and saved me $$$--trustworthy establishment. Also Nick couldn't be a greater guy, always prompt, so helpful, patient, efficient, knowledgeable, and is even nice to my kitty! and oh yeah! The work quality is excellent!

I messaged through Yelp asking if he was still coming and whoever is managing his account (wife? friend?) said she forgot to add our appointment to his schedule. So why even confirm he is coming??? I reached out to Sam to fix all of the items on our home report from a recent home purchase and he has been really easy to do business with since our initial call. I needed two small repairs for two plumbing issues resulting from poor work by our kitchen contractor (I will be updating a review on Kitchen Mart next). I had a leaking sink strainer on my bar sink and my main kitchen faucet had leaked, causing significant dry rot to the wood deck under my counter. Both issues were caused by the Kitchen Mart installer using silicone caulk instead of plumber's putty. To make matters worse, they had stripped the ring on the strainer and used caulk to hold it in place. Long story short, Sam fixed both issues quickly and efficiently, explaining what he was doing and why. I will definitely refer him to others and use him again when I run into something I can't do myself.

I ordered an expensive bathroom vanity online, and it arrived completely unassembled. After organizing the twenty+ wood pieces and over a hundred screws, dowel pins, hinges, handles, slides, etc., I knew it was far beyond my skill set to attempt to put it together. I also had two large bathroom mirrors that needed to be hung. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I contacted Sam with the details and asked if he serviced the Davis area. I received a quote, which I considered reasonable, and we set up an appointment. I was advised that Nick would be handling the job, and I was given a one hour window for his arrival. What a knowledgeable and personable guy he is! Not only did he complete the projects perfectly, but it is refreshing to have someone you immediately like and trust, and I know that this company is the one I will rely on for future work. Nick B. came to repair our front door that wouldn't close properly. He was friendly and personable, and took a cue from me to wear a mask (I still do around strangers because I work with the public and know of infected coworkers). He didn't mind my asking questions and encouraged it, and explained things as he worked. He also took great care to clean up the area afterwards, even vacuuming the doormat before leaving.
I was glad I called because he was able to fix the problem that I see would have been a problem if I tried doing it myself. I would absolutely call them again.

II will say firsthand Sam is an excellent handyman but an even better Person. I'll just say it, my 1.5 hr got out of the house today without me knowing (happened very quickly). Sam was finishing a job 2 houses down and stopped his car in the street and kept my kid safe while he called for me through the open door. I was extremely scared and surprised once I realized what was happening. I apologized and was very embarrassed. I told him my front door swings open on occasion (if unlocked and breezy out) without my knowledge because of a failure of the hardware in the door knob/plate of the house. He said well I'm a handyman, I'll take a look at it. He grabbed his supplies and fixed my door and refused to charge for her service. I gave him a hug after, I was/am so truly grateful for his act of kindness and his ability to realize the need for help and guidance in that moment. I have had many handymen in my many years of owning a home, and not having a handy man of my own, I have lots of experience with finding one, I found Sam on yelp, because of the reviews.
Sam has done more than one project for me, he is honest about what he can and cannot do. I was not too comfortable at first when he said he works by the hour, I was not sure he would be in my budget. Sam can give an approximate quote. He is highly qualified in what he does, very detailed, that I find very refreshing! Moves quickly with getting the job done, cleaned up so you have no mess to go behind, is very considerate, professional, interesting to chat with, continuing to work as he chats. I know if Sam is on the job I can walk away and know it will be done right, with every detail necessary that its perfect. He treats your project like he was doing it in his own home! I did find that his charging by the hour is not to be afraid of because he accomplishes a lot in the hour, and try's to save you money in ways he can improvise. I only have one problem, he will not always be able to accommodate my needs quickly, he is a busy man. I am happy for him, he deserves it. I found all his 5 stars have been honestly earned.

We are so happy with Sam's work. Not only was he easy to communicate with for scheduling, but he asked helpful questions ahead of time to make his visit successful. Sam was just left my home and has a customer for life. I had some leaky toilet issues that he was able to take care of quickly. I have a lot of anxiety about people being in my home and repairs in general but he was a pleasure to work with. Thanks Sam!
