When I called last Monday to have a problem with my dryer (the gas company told me I needed a plumber to fix it) and a toilet fixed, I was advised that they didn't have any available appointments for a week. So I made an appointment for the following Monday afternoon. After they tried to change the appointment time about 4 times (trying to move it up to a time when I wouldn't be home), Rooter Alert finally showed up about 1.5 hours outside of the appointment window that we had agreed upon. They were here for 5 minutes and didn't fix anything. 1) They told me the toilet needs a new flapper and they didn't have one. and 2) They said they would need to move the dryer to fix it and didn't know if the company would let [them] do that. Instead of calling the company to ask, they asked me if I could move it. When I said I didn't think I was strong enough, they just left. I immediately called Rooter Alert to ask to speak to a supervisor to tell them about this terrible experience and was advised I'll leave him a message but I don't know if he's even here right now.

Your guys were great!  Did a great job descaling the cast iron sewer line in our church basement!  Saved us from having to dig up and replace the sewer line.
I highly recommend Rooter Alert!!

I had an Angie's list $55.00 prepaid voucher for a 1 any drain cleaning.  I called on Rooter Alert, who said they'd be out 11:00/12:00 that day. They came at 1:00, no worries. Bingo and Steve, proceeded to check my clogged kitchen sink. Bingo said he had 35 years experience. (Which he said about 10 times!) Lot's of talk and finally said well we have to cut stucco and hydro-jet the clogged pipes in order to fix. At $455.00!! They both said this is a bargain we usually charge  $750 to $1,000! And by the way, we don't patch up the open stucco.  This is a classic bait and switch. They try to wear you down, and in the end you give in because know you just want the drain fixed!  3:00 rolls around and they said we have to leave for another job. My kitchen sink area is a mess! And did I mention they asked for towels, buckets, and  a bowl (my wife's Tupperware is now ruined.) Also asked to use a plunger. WTF!!! They just left the mess and said the office will call you. What a joke!! VERY dishonest. Needless to say, I did not use them. I called my usual, rooter who only took 10 minutes and my kitchen sink is running fine.
Please beware of their bait and switch tactics.  And don't be taken as I ALMOST was!  I will call Angie's list and tell them of my very unpleasant experience.

What a bunch of morons at this company.  Maybe..maybe they know how to snake a sewer line, but to call themselves a plumbing company without standard plumbing knowledge?  Beware if your home warranty company sends them for your repair.

Thank you Rooter Alert ~ I wish I had an electrical company that I could depend on to provide prompt, quality service for a fair price that you do!  It's bad enough when something in your house needs repair, but when you have a people whom you know will take care of the problem and not take advantage of you...it makes it a little easier.  I definately recommend Rooter Alert.  Thanks again!

These guys are awesome.  I'm in the middle of escrow and of course their home inspection turned up cracks & stuff in the main sewer line.  The estimate that I got from their plumber was $21k, so needless to say I was in tears when my realtor told me. Both Realtors were going to get other quotes, I decided to take it in my own hands and get my own.  I called them on a Saturday and they scheduled Joe to come out Sunday morning.  He was there before I got there.  He proceeded to put the camera down the sewer line and found out that the root intrusion that the other guys saw was only a hairball.  They're very honest and trustworthy.  They want to build a relationship and not just rip you off.

these dudes cleaned my pipes.

and by cleaned my pipes, i mean cleaned my pipes.

we are a hillside property and have a drain that every two years or so slows down.  we have had it blasted many times, over many years as it leads to the main sewer line.  what i have heard from all the neighbors, is that they have similar problems and that all their plumbing people have indicated that root clearing is a maintenance issue you actually need to address every year or two.  afterall-- roots grow back!  (but i know there is some new liner you can inject in the pipes, to re-line the pipes and seal cracks / root passages).

anyway i got a deal on angie's list from rooter alert for hydro jetting to remove clogs and roots.  it was $211.  prior to that, i had a quote of literally $1,250 from another plumber i had used -- and trusted.  and i still do trust that other plumber BUT... i was having heart palpitations at the thought of spending $1,250 to hydro jet.  i know one neighbor had paid $500 with his plumber plumber for jetting, another paid $1,750 with a different plumber.  these quotes including my initial $1,250 quote from a third plumber were just so wildly all over the place i decided i had to do more a little more research and digging.

so- that's how i found this deal.  rooter alert had quite quite good reviews and so i gave them a try.  they had to come out 2x because the first time, the equipment was too big of the pipe we were clearing.  they btw have a big rigged out truck that has all the equipment and it is serious stuff!  not like a little roto rooter man coming with a snake.

anyway the second time they came with a crew and some smaller equipment.  they had scopes, you could see as they stuck it on down the line all the roots and junk in there.  and then they bored and bored and bored away at it.  they did pull out a few handfuls of gobs of roots.  certainly enough of a tangle that they would impede water and whatever else is going down the line.

this was about 6 weeks ago and so far, the line has been FINE!  i do believe in a year or two i'll have to get the line cleared again as roots return, but i thought they crews they sent were nice, professional, and serious about getting in and out.

so far, so good... and would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience. Dino and Brett came out and worked on our line for hours.  We are new home owners of a 1920s house and the previous owner had let the line go for years which lead to an overflow our first week in.  They totally cleared out the line.  We got a great deal $275 hydrojet from Angie's List.  We will have to do a re-lining and got a great deal on that as well.  Hats off to Debbie and her tremendous customer service.

John and Mario came out today from Rooter Alert Plumbing, Sewer and Drain. They ran a camera to inspect  the pipes and look for roots or obstructions. They found the obstruction area and defined the exact location to me so I know where the problem area is. I have had other plumbers but none that had the best technology in their equipment and impressive trucks for hydro jetting which is a better option than just standard snake cleaning. They showed me foot by foot throughout the complete sewer line what I was seeing. The best part is there honestly. This is the first company that didn't try to upsell on every possible repair under the moon. They told me I didn't have to have the work done immediately where most are high pressure salesman making outrageous bids. If you want a honest diagnosis these are the guys I trust and have very reasonable prices. I am Very happy to of found them!!!

I am extremely happy about my experience with Rooter Alert.  I had a blockage and my plumber recommended Rooter Alert.  I called and received a $375 quote to HydroJet the blockage (which they honored).  This covered up to 2 hours of service.    Other HydroJet service quoted as much as $1200 and complained about all the problems dealing with the City of Laguna Beach (Rooter Alert had no problems). They came out and cleared the blockage and used a camera to show me that the blockage was cleared and all of the roots had been cut and removed.  I had them check another sewer line with the camera and it was clear.  Unfortunately, four days later I had a back up in a line that we did not check.  I called them and they came back out right away.  I had two other plumbers use a camera to check my lines but Rooter Alert was the only one who found out that my backflow valve had broken off.  They fixed the new blockage and did not charge me for the second visit.  I am EXTREMELY pleased with the service and honesty I received !

Rooter alert came out and said the job would cost $1300 and I would have to wait two days. I had another licensed plumbing company come out and they did the exact same job the same day and they only charged me $275. Please shop around, this company overcharges!

This is an update. I am slow at giving yet another great review to this company. This activity happened in April of this year. I have had a long and hard year, so it's taken awhile to get this review up. We were told we had to vacate our home of 20+ years and in turn we had to remove our refrigerator and our washer/dryer, and put them into storage. Rooter Alert showed up on time and ready to disconnect our frig and our washer and dryer. It happened so fast I didn't even know they were done. They were once again, reasonably priced as well. I will continue to call the honest workers at this company.

Rooter Alert gave me a quick, fair estimate, completed the work on time and as expected, and proactively kept me informed about progress when waiting for city permits and approvals. I'd definitely call them again for plumbing work.

I was contacted by Rooter Alert with an apology. They were going to refund the whole $50.00 and I told them I had no problems paying for the new trap which they said was $12.00. I just wanted to be fair. They said if I removed the bad review they would give me all the money back. So was the phone call I recieved driven by the bad review or they just wanted to do the right thing ? . As for the Water Heater estimate they gave me of $1700 dollars and the confusion of what it covered they said they would cover all water lines water valves and gas lines with a 10 year warranty instead of the 6 year. I told them I had quotes for 6 year warranty with all the same parts they were giving me from $1000 to $1200. I cant trust this company as I don't think Honesty and Integrity is something they practice as they claim. I'm not taking the review down. As I think their motivating was to have a good review and not to the right thing

I had a drain issue in the kitchen sink. Called rotor alert and the guy came out try to unclog with snake he could not. He ended up saying that they need to pressure jet the pipe to unclog whatever is down the drain. Scheduled another appointment and three guys came over. They started chipping through the pipe until finally the sink started raining however my wife came from downstairs and she said that there's water dripping from outside the eaves. The guys go on the side of the kitchen and noticed literally a water flooding from the side of the kitchen wall. What could happen was that with the pressure the pipe in the corner broke and started leaking anyway the main guy quoted me a price and the total ended up $450 to fix the problem. I agreed he started cutting that elbow and all of a sudden he dropped the whole pipe he could not retrieve the pipe that he just cut where the elbow was. Now he had to go downstairs and look for the pipe that he just dropped through the ceiling to connected to the upstairs sink. He had a couple of gizmos with him and he said we need to cut from this outside and he marked where he wanted to cut to retrieve and push up that pipe. Guess what as you see in the picture he cut from the outside he had nothing but wood he could not find a pipe. Now I have a huge hole in a custom home with custom stucco color that this guy just cut through and he cannot find the pipe. At this point I told the guy we are done cutting. I called the secretary and told her what happened and wrote the owner an email with pictures which he never responded.

I am extremely pleased with the service from this company! I had an Angie's list deal for $275 hydro jetting my mainline and kitchen clean out with a 3 year warranty. Dino and Dana where punctual, very courteous and extremely thorough in unclogging the kitchen clean out and the mainline. They went above and beyond the call of duty, and didn't quit till the job was done! I got a DVD of the mainline before and after the hydro jetting, and man what a difference! They made a recommendation for relining the pipes because of some cracks, but did not pressure me in any way. I will definitely be recommend them!

These folks fixed our leaky sink with a fair and well done new install (faucet and garbage disposal).  Their prices were reasonable and the work was done quickly and with no fuss.

Give them a shot.

I was referred to this company after purchasing an $99 special offer on Angie's list for 2hrs of plumbing service. Melvin (Mel) the plumber came by and gave a free inspection to determine the parts needed to complete the job.  I researched several local plumbing stores for the replacement cartridge I needed for my shower and found them to be very pricey. Instead of trying to sell me an overpriced part, Rooter Alert Plumbing suggested that I call the shower manufacturer and I could possibly receive the part from them for free so I called Pegasus and found out they have a lifetime warranty on all parts!  Who knew to do that?! I've never heard of this nor had any of the plumbing store employees when I shared this information. Long story short, thanks to that tip I saved $180! So after a month of searching, I now have the correct part and call the office to set up another appt for the plumber to do repairs. Melvin returned to my home and did a excellent job replacing my bathroom sink and the shower cartridge while answering all my plumbing questions. Honesty along with great customer service, I would definitely recommend Mel and Rooter Alert Plumbing Sewer Drains to anyone for their plumbing issues.

Work performed - Hydro-jetting the lines, relining the main sewer line, and installing a Top Hat liner at the connection to the city sewer.  All in all Rooter Alert did a good job and performed the service that was quoted.  They made a point to save one of my plants that needed to be dug up to get to the sewer line.  My only complaint was that since the job was completed over several days that they could have communicated their overall project timing & schedule a bit better.

Had them come out to do a sewage inspection with DVD on Friday.   While the ladies who work in the office are really good about answering the phone, and the inspection was inexpensive due to the Angie's List coupon, they are horrible otherwise.

They gave me a window of 9 am - 12 pm, and called the day before to confirm.  Noon rolls by and I still hadn't heard from their technician.  We call into the office and they say they couldn't locate Omar, and that they would call back in a few minutes to give an update.  Fifteen minutes later, we called again just to see what was going on (we were working under a serious time constraint), and they said he would be there in 20 minutes or so.   Omar didn't show up until 1:25 PM.   He was there for probably no more than 20 minutes max.

So here's where the real NIGHTMARE begins.  When he was done, he gave my husband the DVD, said that we needed to hydrojet to clear a blockage and that there was a crack in the pipe that needed to be fixed.  Quoted a special Angie's List price of $1,145 in total for those services, but said he would follow up with a quote via email.  No email that night.  I call the next day, Saturday, and spoke with someone in the office, and she said she would send the quote once she saw Omar.  I gave her my email address just to make sure they had it.  Next day rolls by, still no email.  I followed up, again, on Monday, spoke with another lady, and she said she would email it, and said the problem was that they didn't have my email (!).  I gave it to her (again) and emphasized that I needed it that night - ASAP.  It's Tuesday (four days after the inspection), and I called again because I still not have received anything.  She said Omar was out yesterday, but was in today (didn't bother to mention that when I spoke with her), so said she would send it today. It's 5:30 PM, still nothing.

I've never seen people throw away business like this.  We're hiring another company to come out and do the work, and our real estate agent has put them on their do not hire list.

They are so honest and effective! This is the second time I used their service. The first time I asked them to come out and do the whole sewer line and they said I didn't need it, just a single line clear. They saved me hundreds. This time I did need it. They were right on time, fast, and less expensive than others. I had them look at a pipe I was worried about while they were here. They gave me bad news that it would be a big job if fully done, but suggested ways that I can safely wait until I do a remodel and save it.

Wow.  We've lived in a third floor loft in a condo for almost nine years and the plumbing has been a nightmare.  The washing machine and dishwasher back up into the kitchen sink and overflow through the ceiling of the unit below.  We've had countless plumbers and rotor rooter companies out to snake through the pipes.  The problem abates for a few wash loads and comes again until it builds up and we have to call someone else.

This time it was a coupon from Angie's list.  When I called to set the appointment with Rooter Alert, they asked some questions and based on my answers made it clear there would be an additional $75 charge depending on access.  Still, it was less than I'd paid in the past for no results.

Dino showed up on time, fully equipped, fantastic attitude, and assessed the problem.  Indeed he'd need to charge the $75 but made certain I fully understood why.  When I agreed, he went to work with his camera and other tools.  It took nearly two hours to locate the problem debris and push it into the main drain where it would wash away.  I'm convinced it's been clogging the line since the day we moved in.  I ran a load of laundry and the dishwasher and fir the first time ever, it didn't sound as if the kitchen sink was going to explode and no water backed up into it.

When he was confident everything was working properly, Dino cleaned up as if he'd never been there.

Finally, I have a go-to plumbing source I can trust.  But Dino did such a great job, maybe I'll never get to call them again!

Rooter Alert has been an amazing company to work for us. We had roots invade our main sewer line and back up sewage into our newly purchased house in Santa Ana in 2017. They came, put a liner in, and did a fantastic job.

Flash-forward to 2020. We had sewage coming out of our clean out pipe and they came back to investigate. Their liner had help up excellently, but the roots had diverted and broke the saddle & the mainline on the city's sewage that we were connected to. Instead of charging us nearly $13k to fix it themselves, Tom & Rooter Alert have a great relationship with the city of Santa Ana and were able to call them for us and get them to come out, dig up the main road, and fix the issue all in that day at no cost to us. Talk about fantastic service and help!

We really appreciate all the help and work Rooter Alert has done for us and highly recommend them!!!!

I recently contracted Rooter Alert to perform trenchless sewer repair, which is a costly project that involves digging a deep trench on my front lawn and inserting a new pipe.  The contracting process was frustrating (to say the least) as the project manager and owner were not upfront with the costs, engaging in a 'bait and switch' scheme in order to secure me as a customer.  Since this is a major project, I had made several calls to different service providers but I ultimately decided to contract with Rooter Alert since the project manager and I were able to negotiate and agree on a price for the entire project.  After the technicians performed the excavation, the owner did not the honor the agreed upon price, and instead quotes me much higher price.  He stated that he makes the ultimate decision as he is the owner, and the project manager does not have the authority to make such decisions.  He went as far as suggesting the technicians place the dirt back in the hole and stop all work, if I do not agree to the price.  At that stage, I have no choice and the work needs to done as there is a big hole in my front lawn.  Threatening to halt work is not only unprofessional but also speaks to the integrity of the owner and the company.  I was appalled by the owners' lack of professionalism and integrity.  The takeaway from my experience is this: before contracting Rooter Alert for a major project, demand that the pricing and terms be stated on the contract provided upfront; do not take their word or you will end up paying more than what you bargained for.

I bought their offer through Angie's List. Rooter Alert failed to show up twice. The first time, they called me at the original appointment time saying the technician was sick. I understood and give them a second chance by rescheduling.

The second time, they called me after being 1.5 hour late that they needed to cancel the second appointment. The next available appointment was not until a week after. I took two half-days off sitting at home expecting Rooter Alert to show up.

They promised that their manager Gary would give me a call back the next day which I never received a call. Terrible contractor. Do not bother!

I had the worst experience with Rooter Alert. Initial call to set up a diagnostic appointment for $125.00 was very easy set up. Even the technician, Mario, when he came out, he was very friendly and explained that the problem was not sever and simple cleaning was all.  The technician and I both forgot about the $125.00 payment that I was supposed to give to him so I called the company to ask them to send me a bill so that I can pay for the diagnostic service and get a full review of what I needed to have done.  They did not send me an email or suggested work that needs to be done. I called them that same day, two days later, again left a message on website chat, another message, no one got back to me until 11 days later they contacted me. Their excuse was that they had the wrong email address. In the meantime, during those 11 days, I have already patched up my walls and had it painted. If you want fast reliable response don't work with this company.

I had Rooter Alert come out to unclog my sewer line, but my house predates the sewer clean out code and it was over 75' to the sewer and Randy gave me all the options and costs and I chose to install a clean out myself and he located my sewer line for free which I really appreciated, and once I did Randy came back promptly and cleared my sewer line. Very professional thank you.

Wow! I had the best customer service experience ever. One of our toilets were backed up so we called our home warranty to put in a claim. Rooter Alert was assigned to our service call to repair our toilet. I had the pleasure of meeting Mario P. And his partner Luciano. They were professional, great communication, friendly, helpful, thorough and made me feel respected and appreciated as a customer. We will definitely contact Rooter Alert for any future plumbing needs. They even showed me live video feed of our plumbing to show me where tree roots were starting to affect our plumbing and gave us a dvd with the video footage from our plumbing. Super nice and I just can't explain how great of an experience this was for me. Such polite and professional men. God Bless them and Rooter Alert. It's son nice to know such great people and companies exist.

I called at 7:30 am to engage services. They told me someone would come between 1 and 4. At 12:38 I received a voice mail saying that the tech who was supposed to come to me was stuck at an all day job. I understand that things happen, but they should have either found ANOTHER tech to do the job later that day OR not accepted the job OR told me earlier in the morning that they would not be coming. I was unable to use plumbing from the night before and was in a TERRIBLE position. This wasn't just my sink is draining slow or I can't use my washing machine. This was a DIRE situation. VERY unprofessional...I was so disappointed. They have so many great reviews so I am sure that they are quite good at what they do. But if I were you, I would have a backup ready in case they are not able to follow through.

Rooter Alert are amazing professionals and highly skilled at what they do as well as honest and filled with integrity.  The customer service reps were so responsive and accommodating. Darryl and Harry arrived dressed in immaculate uniforms and took instant command. I knew immediately I could drop my fears.  Darryl is an absolute Maestro and Harry is his young genius, Mozart.  They carefully explained the process and allowed me to watch and learn what they do. We explored options together and the end result was both soothing and satisfying.  It was an amazing afternoon and NOT what I expected.  They turned a mainline sewer backup into an extraordinary experience filled with compassion, a feeling of unity and believe it or not, fun.  Now that's an amazing find!

I had a really positive experience with this company. A cracked pipe that required a smoke test (which many other companies do not perform) was necessary to find out the source of the sewer gas leak coming from my kitchen sink.
I called on Friday and was scheduled for the soonest time available, which was on Sunday.
The plumber arrived and got to work immediately. He was able to locate the crack in the pipe and I was given an estimate as well as a day/time that it could be fixed.
The same plumber was dispatched to fix the pipe Tuesday morning. So far, I have no sewer gas smell and as of right now the problem is fixed. I appreciate a company that recognizes a problem and is quick to schedule and fix the problem.

This company was amazing! They were on time and extremely courteous and knowledgeable. I had an issue with a blockage in my kitchen line and the technician they sent Michael was extremely through and made sure to resolve my issue as well as explain what I could do to prevent future back ups from occurring. I have dealt with other companies before but this one was by far the best. They did not try and up sell me on any additional services that were not needed.I even received a phone call from Tom (who stated he was the owner) ensuring that I received excellent service. I highly recommend and would use again.

Got their $275 hydrojet/camera service on Angie's list.  They were out at our house same day and fixed our main line issue that other guys could not seem to fix (and we had already paid them $800 at this point, and they were looking for more).  Not to mention these guys fixed it in about 15 minutes and the other plumbers we were working with had been back and forth to our house with no success over the past several DAYS.

I should've just called these guys from the the start and saved myself a lot of trouble.

This company quickly sent out an experienced and knowledgable technician to assess my new home's main sewer line. He gave me peace of mind that we didn't have any issues and further explained everything he saw through the camera. He was able to answer all of our questions and the company's receipt/invoice included notes from his visit, which I will hold onto for future reference.

UPDATE #2 05/08/14

Just recieved a call from Tom the Owner asking if I could 1st, CHANGE MY REVIEW on ANGIE'S LIST, and then 2nd, ASKING if there was anything he could do to make me change my mind.

YES, BE BETTER THE 1st TIME..... AFTER THE FACT is ONE TIME TOO LATE.

He also blamed Angie's List again for the confusion.... oops, if I hadn't called your company prior to purchase, I might have let you get away with it.

Now read the rest of the review and see if you can understand WHY THEY HAVE AS GOOD A REVIEW RATING AS THEY DO.... they cheat by challenging ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS, and then when that doesn't work, they call 6 months later to ask you to do something against the rules. (the call today)

LYING CHEATING LOW LIFE SCUM.

Should you use them after reading this, and you get what you paid for.  Good luck to you and your pipes and your wallet.

For clarification of the below, when I asked to speak to the owner at the time of the initial dispute, I was told that that was not possible.

You need to learn to hire better people, or train them better.  Sorry Tom, too little, too late.

~~~
ORIGINAL COMPLAINT - NOW MADE WORSE by the ABOVE ^ ^ ^
I purchased a coupon from Angie's list for a Drain Clean and Video Inspection.  I actually spoke to the company the same day, PRIOR TO PURCHASING THE COUPON, and told them my plans to use the coupon in LANCASTER OR PALMDALE.
NO PROBLEM, I was told.  I purchased the coupon.
A few weeks later, when I went to use the coupon, they wouldn't honor it, saying that they didn't service that area and to contact Angie's list about the next steps for a refund.
Boo!
~~~

UPDATE #1 the Angie's List specialist from the company apparently challenged the validity of my complaint.  I have since had the review replaced on Angie's List with additional info.

The specialist Debbie did contact me, but never offered anything to make me happy, she apparently was only trying to do damage control, and apparently she is very good at it, so if you don't see enough negative reviews here, understand that this company has the money to hire a full time EMPLOYEE (not a contractor, I confirmed this with her) to deal with negative reviews AND I'm guessing she also contacts happy customers to write good reviews, because they seem to be pouring into Angie's list near daily.

Joel Siperek and George were a godsend!  I called AHS  with a plumbing stoppage and received the best service ever with Rooter Alert!  Joel also assisted with an affordable plan for avoiding continued plumbing issues.  This is crucial for those of us disabled seniors on a fixed income. Call Rooter Alert first before wasting your time with other  plumbing services.  Jaclyn, a very sweet, delightful and helpful young lady, will  provide wonderful phone service through every step for your plumbing emergencies.  Your emergency is handled with great care!

This is much more than 5 star service!

So I had these guys come out while I was in Escrow to stick a camera down my sewer line and check my water heater. I was told the water heater needed to be replaced (not surprising, it was in rough shape) and a wye fitting and 3 feet of pipe in my sewer line needed to trenched out and be replaced. I received a quote for this and after closing escrow decided to give them my business, big mistake.

We scheduled a Tuesday for this to be taken care of. At the time the AC was broken and I still lived 30 minutes away. I showed up at 8am as planned, sat in 100 degree heat and after a couple hours decided to call them. Got some excuse about having trouble with the permit because the city required the owner to pull it, they would have to reschedule. So why was I not notified of this? No call, no email.

We reschedule for Monday, 2 weeks later as I was getting the house tented the week prior.

Monday morning comes along and I get a call at 7:30am from the owner saying they can't show up, some guy broke his foot...Ok, sh!t happens, lets reschedule for Wednesday.

Tuesday morning, city inspector shows up, umm sorry they didn't show yesterday and obviously didn't contact you. I notified him they are coming Wednesday.

Later that evening, call from operations manager, saying they can't come Wednesday, too many guys on vacation etc etc. At this point I had been living in the house for 5 days, with no water heater (gas company red tagged it). He said he had to reschedule for Friday but would try to get a guy out for the water heater on Thursday, saying he would call me back to let me know or not. ok thanks. He never called back, starting to see a trend here.

Thursday morning, plumbers show up! I was not expecting them as I never received a confirmation call. Lucky for them I work from home that day. Water heater installed, they finish and leave trash saying they will be back tomorrow to trench the front and get rid of the trash.

Friday, no show. No call, no warning. At this point my patience is shot. I call them and am told that they scheduled me for Monday. Who was going to tell me this? At this point we are almost 3 weeks past the original service date. I decide to cancel the trenching, I'm a patient person but this is too much. I never have written a review on yelp but these guys deserve my first one.

TLDR. Got canceled on or no showed 4 times. If you value your time do not use these guys!

I am absolutely Happy with the outstanding service Rooter Alert Provided for me. I purchased my home 3 years ago and since the day of my purchase I have had issues with the draining system. I have had another plumbing  company tell me that I have a broken section of sewer line. I continued to maintain it by having it cleared every 3 months. I finally had enough and sought for a 2nd opinion. I chose Rooter Alert to come out because of all the great reviews I saw of them through different websites and also offers coupons.... wow I must say. They came out and jetted my main line and ran a camera. They showed me with a camera the issues that I had which was build up. They used the hydro jet and removed the build up. After the service they ran the camera again and low and behold there was no break in the line or cracks.  Rooter Alert is my hero. And my go to plumber from here on out. Danny the rep that answered my call was the nicest and most informative person, I was freaking out at the time (for good reason i had sewage coming out of my shower) and he calmed me down and kept open communication letting me know the tech was in route.  He got a tech out that same day and the rest is history. This company has the consumers best interest in mind and you can see it when the guys come out. No pressure tactics  just a plain and simple cost effective solution. Rooter Alert deserves a place in my speed dial. You are my hero!

50 year old house and stinky wet patch of ground near lot line where county sewer lurks - uh oh!
Main problem was steel rod used by landscapers many years ago - was driven through sewer pipe in the backyard.  Additional problems discovered: lack of clean out fixture to give the plumbers access, and the saddle connection to county 8 sewer pipe was degrading.  So, we had a clean out installed (lots of hand digging), and replaced the 15' of pipe from the steel rod damage down to and including the county sewer connection (the top of the county sewer pipe was 10' deep).  The Rooter Alert people were prompt, skilled, polite, hardworking.

Extremely happy with the service technician Mel provided. He  cleared the drain, hooked the washer, ensured the washer drained properly and cleaned up after himself. He went above and beyond for my elderly mother and charged the agreed upon price of $90.   Another company (crooks) wanted to charge her $700. and tear up her floor. So glad we went with Rooter Alert Plumbing, they are such an honest company!

BEWARE! Don't believe what you hear on their advertisement.  Hired them to camera a drain and they quoted me a price, came out and of course, discovered more work that was needed and NEVER received my DVD from the original scope.  Should have been my RED FLAG.  Most of us are not plumbers and you want to trust.

ADVICE! ALWAYS PLEASE take a step back before proceeding with any suggested work unless you have an emergency.  Get other bids.  I believe we paid too much for the services provided.

Tom talks a good talk and the honesty line of crap is that. This company gave me a quote and before I gave the go ahead they scheduled the work and were showing up at my doorstep the next morning.

In speaking with Tom with my concern, calling the night before to call it off and the morning of because I didn't want to move forward. Tom spoke to me as if I was dam if I do and dam if I don't as he had his guys on the way.  He talks the talk and just keeps talking so you don't talk yourself out of doing the work as he doesn't let you get two words in.  The field men pushed added work, of course, more money.

I will know now to ALWAYS stand my ground.  In addition, they want to charge an additional for a scope of work that was needed, so why not include it in the larger project service with it?  I know why, to get more from $$$ your customer.

Tom and his crew were exceptional.  Very knowledgeable/experienced, excellent problem solving, super fast response/execution, very professional, excellent communication/photos/follow-up, great value, etc.  Can't say enough good things.  They handle major drain line issues: re-lining, bursting, replacement, etc.  Do permits, City, subs, etc.  30 years experience, and it shows.  Have lots of large equipment to handle any size job/problem.  Work well with both commercial and residential/homeowner.  Good warranty too.  Thanks Tom!!!

Quick scheduling for voucher bought on Angie's List to inspect and jet sewer connection from house to main in street; rescheduled when they had an earlier opening.  Guys arrived on time, were professional, clean, efficient, and thorough; they explained what they found and what options I have to deal with it.  A+ experience.

Companies/people like this make giving reviews worthwhile.

I had already reviewed them for a service they did for me on Angies list, but what happened over the weekend just shows how great they are. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

This past weekend, I woke up to about 4 inches of brown, stinky water in my bathtub. I immediately called them thinking it might have to do with the service they previously performed on my sewer pipe (it wasn't). On top of that stress, I had to leave for the airport in about 2 hours. They said their guy would be there by 9. He showed up on time and got the camera and started checking things. Then I had to leave. I made sure he didn't need to get inside the house and if he was still there when my roommate got back, he could talk to her and she would help. The rest of this story is from what my roommate told me

She got back and he was still there. He told her that it looks like it was the city's line that backed up and since our pipe was the lowest, we got all of the backup coming into our drain. So he called the city and waited for them to get there. When the city got there, in typical city fashion, they said it wasn't their line. But  the rooter alert guy (I'm so sorry I don't remember his name, but please tell him what a great job he did) basically told the city (in my mind) Ohhh helllll nooooo....and then went and showed them what was up.

The city guys came back, apologized to my roommate and said it was their line and they would fix it.  The fact that he stayed and argued with the city on my/our behalf is amazing to me and not many people would do that, especially with other jobs lined up after mine.

So thank you so much! You guys are amazing!

could not provide service today for emergency  plumbing problem. I even bought the coupon they say is worth 80.00 and you pay 8.00 ... So that was a waste, and i read other reviews that said they would not hire these people AGAIN.

Roots kept clogging my old ceramic sewer pipes that ran under my slab flooring. We were snaking it out every 3 months. I was told by my local plumber the only solution was to tear up my floor and jackhammer up the slab and replace the pipes. Huge $$$! Then I heard about trenchless sewer pipe relining (they force a lining inside the old pipes) and called Rooter Alert. Dana came out and figured out a way to do it for my rather unusual configuration. A competitor also came out but didn't think he could do it, and if he could, would have charged twice the price because my pipe length was much shorter than his minimum. Rooter Alert came out and did the work when they said they would and gave me a before and after DVD of the work. The price was good, the workers were polite and informative, and I am thrilled to solve the problem for a fraction of what it would have cost to dig up my floor, dig up and replace the pipes and then reconstruct my floor.

Solid 5 stars for Mel.  He came to fix what the other guy from the same company's sloppy work.  Now I know the difference between excellent work and really bad one. Although it was upsetting to reschedule of one of their employee's half ass job, at least the manager, (Gary) was very professional and accommodating to fix the issue.  Hence four stars though the job had to be done three time to get it right.  Ask for Melvin, he'll get it right at first time every time.

Really great, honest and professional company from top to bottom.
I used them for hydrojetting a while ago, they did the job perfectly, as scheduled, didn't try to sell me anything else than what I ordered. The lady on the phone does a super great job keeping you updated and / or scheduling your services for a convenient time. I recently had another trouble with my main line and it was covered under their 1 year warranty from my previous service, they honored it and did a great job once again.

I will use these guys for any plumbing service without any hesitation. These guys are great.

Called Rooter Alert upon a recommendation from a neighbor and Angies List.  They came out on a Sunday at no extra charge.  Scheduling was easy and Mike called back to confirm the arrival of their plumber.  Randy came out to unclog a kitchen drain that was completely clogged after another plumber had tried to unclog it and made it worse.  The other plumbing company claimed, after using their hydro jet that I had a break in my pipe and would need a $1900 job to cut through my wood floor and jackhammer the slab ( I didn't see any camera pictures, the guy just held some electronic thing that made a high pitched noise over the floor and said this is where the break is).  I do not have a clean out, so Randy had to get on the roof and use the vent.  He worked for about an hour and the sink did not fill up continually like it did the day before when the other plumber was using his hydro jet

Suddenly the sink cleared and the wonderful sound of water clearing the pipes was heard!!  I asked about the claim for the broken pipe and Randy said there would be muddy water coming back up.  No muddy water was ever pulled up and the sonar unit the first plumber used to confirm the leak only located the pipe!!

Very happy with Mike, Randy and Rooter Alert!

I had the incredible good fortune to find Rooter Alert on Angie's List.

From the moment I spoke with Georgina to schedule, I was impressed with their professionalism and diligence to get things done.  The first visit was for a concern of what appeared to be mold forming along a side board in a bathroom.  I assumed it was a leak, it was not. They did not charge me, stated  it was not a plumbing issue, but I needed a mold specialist.

Shortly thereafter, we had some clogged drains and I called for service.  They were to arrive on Friday of last week, at  a designated time.  They called and advised me that their crew was stuck on a monster job, and would be late.  I was unable to have them come later, and instead, they arrived Sunday morning and did a masterful job.  Things happen, I would want them to take more time if my call required it.  NO problem.

I will now have them return this week to do a major repair which requires digging up part of my lawn and replacing four feet of clay pipe.

I have dealt with a lot of plumbing issues in the past few years, and despite having brand new piping throughout my home, things happen.  Now that I have Rooter Alert, I do not worry about a thing.   They are magnificent and their pricing is more than fair for the fine work they do.

Thank you Rooter Alert!

Ontime, good communication, polite, and knowledgeable. My washing machine drainage was backing up. I explain the situation to the plumber and he knew exactly what to do and put the washer through several cycles to make sure the issue was fixed. He was polite and helped me move all items that were in the was of the main hookup. I will be using them again when needed.

I am impressed!
