HISTORY
Established in 1956.
Ronald Knight Sr. first started plumbing in 1947 doing new construction in the L.A. and Palm Springs area. In 1956 Sr. decided it was time to go in business himself and established R.K. Knight Plumbing. In 1980 Sr.'s son Ronald Knight Jr. decided to follow his fathers' foot steps and join the company. After many years of loving his family and working hard to provide them with a great life Sr passed way in 2007. Today Ronald Jr. is joined by his two oldest sons Ronnie III and Randy to keep this family tradition alive. Ronnie III is the general manager while Randy is one the highly trained technicians. To complete this family business is Delia the office manager and Shawn and Memo the other two technicians.

I actually took over this business from my father who took over for his father. I loved being able to go to work and meet new people and listen to their unique stories. It always made me feel good to be able to help someone with a problem that they weren't expecting. And on top of that to meet someone who knew me as a little kid working with my grandpa is a feeling not many people get to experience. I knew that my dad and grandpa were very respected people in our community and in this industry and I just knew it was something that I wanted to be as well.

This company is great! I was able to get an appointment the very next day. Randy arrived right on time which I really appreciate. Randy was great. He quickly figured out the problem and fixed it. He did this even though all of my dogs wanted to constantly say hello. I would absolutely recommend this company.
I have used RK Knight for over ten years. Their work has been excellent each and every time. Sean was very professional and prompt. He let me know what was wrong and how he was going to fix the problem. He gave me the quote before in starting working. The price was fair and work was great. We look forward to more service years with RK Knight.
Toilet repair included all internal tank parts done in a timely manner and professional service from the first contact to completion.
After a poor experience with another plumber for a different repair, I was a little apprehensive, but I had used R.K Knight in the past and decided to go with them again for this repair.

An HONEST plumber!
Arrived promptly on time and listened to he problem. Evaluated it and quickly came up with a solution. The solution was easy enough for me to repair so he explained it and gave me the option of repairing on my own (less expensive) or he would fix it for me (more expensive). I chose to finish it on my own and he left happily! An HONEST plumber!!! Will definitely call again!

I needed my garbage disposal replaced, so I went out and bought one. I called R.K. Knight to come out and install it. They were there for less than 45 minutes, but on their paperwork they put that they were there about 2 hours. They charged me $245 to install a disposal. Really?
I won't be calling them again. I feel I was overcharged.
On time service, effective work and Josh was a professional friendly plumber. Will use this service again. Much appreciated.

Twice now my family has had plumbing issues that were somewhat major and of course, unexpected. Twice now we have called on RK Knight and they have been quick, professional and friendly. They have installed a tankless water heater and worked on a sink and a mainline back up. For the service and experience they supplied, I wouldn't even shop them as they have exceeded our expectations and we have been pleasantly surprised with their consistency. We just bought our house so we had no idea what could be clogging our kitchen sink. Shawn was able to clear the clog quickly. He was very nice and professional.
It was easy to make an appointment and they are great about keeping you updated on their arrival time. I even received a text with the name and photo of the plumber that would be arriving, I really appreciated that!

Was having trouble with 3 yr old water heater. Shut itself off. Service tech showed up got it lit and asked if wanted to order new Gas reg and temp dial.
Recommend to turn gas up 1 level, did and been fine since.
I was recommended R.K. Knight by a co-worker. Ronnie was very friendly and helpful over the phone when I called to make an appointment.
Josh came over went over everything with my family on what needed to be done, gave us options. He was friendly, knowledgeable did great work. Once he was finished he cleaned up the area that was worked on. Thank you R.K. Knight plumbing , thank you Josh! The best Service ever!

I have used RK Knight Plumbing for years and have known them even longer through local nonprofit organizations (which they support many). I have personally used them 4 times and each time they finished on time, under (or at) budget & I have never had to call them for the same problem twice. I would highly recommend them and I think it's very important to support local family owned businesses!
RK Knight snaked out a blocked drain line for me. They did excellent work, cleared the blockage and were very professional, knowledgeable and considerate. They approached the job wanting to find the best solution with the lowest possible cost and disruption, much appreciated by me having dealt with other plumbers in the past that want to dig up the pipe and charge you a huge amount right away without even diagnosing the job! RK Knight is an honest company that does a great job at a good price, highly recommended!
They came pretty quickly and found the leak soon after. They didn't give me quote before doing the work but the price wasn't too much higher than expected. The only disappointing thing was he didn't repair the drywall, other than that I would recommend them.

update Ron the owner came out Friday to try and fix my bathtub faucet he wanted to try and help me I do have a press in seats shower valves and he tried to grind down the seats and re install but still leaks he said it needs new seats which are very hard ti try and replace if you find them and if I decide to change out the unit it has to go through the outside walk stucco he referred me to an copper repipe that could do the job Ron at least tried to help me Thank you Ron I found the seats on line dont know when I'll receive it's just frustrating to know that something that should be simple turns into a major job because obsolete parts

Our company owns a couple commercial spaces in a shopping center and rent out to businesses. We've used RK now for a couple projects and they continue to be our go-to for plumbing issues. We have a lot of plumber contacts, but we keep going back to RK. They get the job done right the first time.
They are a very competent run business and have a great lead plumber in Josh. We will be using them for all our plumbing needs.

Had a little trouble with a do it yourself project. I called RK Plumbing today Saturday and was greeted with a live person not an answering machine. She was very nice and sympathetic to my problem. I had a Tech within 15 minutes. Mr. Knight was very knowledgeable and helped us out of our problem in no time at all. Needless to say we will keep their number close just in case. Highly recommended
RK Knight Plumbing what a great company! They were so fast in responding. I thought I would have to wait until Saturday morning since I called on Friday evening. Instead they called me back quickly and arrived within 10 minutes. Both gentlemen were friendly and respectful of my home....they wore shoe coverings as they entered my home. I'd received a notice from SoCalGas telling me to change the pipes because they were swollen. Randy came over to give me an estimate. As he was giving me an estimate, he had noticed our water line was also going bad and that our regulator was in need of a replacement. He even noticed that the previous owners had some sort of work done on it as well.
Well going to the point, Randy's estimates were generous and fair. Ronnie was also kind enough to push back some appointments due to the urgency of my request because SoCalGas had given me a time frame to fix the swollen lines. Randy and his team worked on our lines diligently and by the end of the day, the new lines and regulator looked beautiful. It was also generous of him to add a shut off valve for the gas even though it's not required by law. Imagine something had gone wrong and you can't shut off the gas immediately and you have to call SoCalGas to come and shut it off for you. That's just stupid.
Thank you Randy and the team! Lookin forward to our next repair. You've definitely earned our business.
I have never been more satisfied with a plumbing service in my life! I called one morning and I received such great customer service that I decided to put my trust in this company. Shaun came out the same day to repair my leaking, overflowing, random-running old toilet. He took a look and gave me his honest opinion. He told me not to put any money into it. Wow, our past plumber would have twisted a knob and charged us $200. He suggested that we purchase another toilet and gave us a few suggestions. Our current toilet is over 30 years old, so it made perfect sense. We did purchase another toilet and Shaun came back the same day and installed it in less than 30 minutes! The service was so reasonable and he was so great! He is knowledgeable and talked to us in layman's terms. He even offered a free inspection of our pipes and gave us honest advice. I have already bragged about this company and decided that this was OUR plumber! RK Knight Plumber rocks!!!!

My mom is a loyal customer of RK Knight and has been for years. As a new homeowner, I have had a few minor plumbing issues pop up and I have called the larger chain companies that advertise their great deals everywhere, assuming they were cheaper than this mom and pop company. Big mistake. They fix your issue, charge double what they advertise and try to sell you a ton of other services. So when I found a pipe leaking under my kitchen sink I finally gave in and listened to my mother. Within an hour a very clean, professional, and friendly plumber was at my house. Within seconds he diagnosed the problem and fixed it for far less than I was expecting to pay. Not only did he NOT try to sell me other products and services I didn't ask for, he told me the really expensive repair one of the chain companies said I needed was not necessary. When someone is honest with me that is the key to earning my business. I am now a loyal RK Knight customer. I hate to admit it, but my mom might have been right for once. If you have a problem give them a call. Reasonable, fast, and friendly!!

Clean out drain in front of my house was overflowing every time the toilet was flushed. Attempted to snake it myself to clear up clog but it didn't work so called RK Knight plumbing and they had someone at my house in less than 30 min. New to the neighborhood and found RK Knight Plumbing on the internet. They are on time and very professional. Have used them twice so far. One of their technician Frank is particularly helpful. He suggested that I should change the refrigerator ice & water filter and even wrote down the part number for me.
My toilet began to leak and found the flange was also broke so I called RK Knight they were able come out next day during this pandemic. The guys were detailed and thorough; very professional and when the job was completed they cleaned and sanitized the bathroom. Plumbers are never inexpensive but that is why they learned that trade and I do what I do, nuf said! Great job guys, you are now on speed dial. Thank you!

R. K. KNIGHT PLUMBING & ROOTER is an outstanding company to work with. I called to set up an appointment to have a shower valve replaced. Within 10 minutes I got a call back and was able to set up an appointment. The technician kept me well informed on his arrival and time. He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave a very reasonable price for the work. They were almost $100.00 less than another company who gave a price without seeing the issue. The part had to be ordered from the manufacture and I was kept totally informed of when the part would come. As soon as the part came, R. K. Knight Plumbing was out right away to install the part. They did a fantastic job. Highly recommend them.

I have used RK Knight plumbing twice now and each time I called they were able to come right out after I had called 3 other plumbing companies. I was quoted a price and was never charge more. Sean was the one who came to the house each time and was able to diagnose the problem.
Also checked all other water sources to make sure nothing else was wrong. This is the plumber I would not hesitate to call at any time.
I had a huge leak with an outdoor hose bib. I couldn't get it to stop running (didn't realize I had to turn the main one off out in the street). Alas, they should up 30 mins after I called even though they were very busy! Thank you! The technician was very personable and friendly. He was able to get it all fixed within an hour and the price wasn't too high, thankfully! The only issue we had was a day or two later the same hose bib started leaking again! The PSI on that hose bib is super high, so the first fix didn't hold up. We called RK back and they came right out and fixed it again for free. It's been almost 2 months and it's still fine. I 100% recommend this company and would definitely use again! Thank you for your quick and reliable services! It's very much appreciated.
My experience with RK plumbing has been such a pleasant one. Prior to calling RK plumbing we contacted another company who seemed annoyed when they came out and did not seem like they even wanted to do the job. When Ronnie came out to do a diagnostic he was very professional, highly knowledgeable, and skilled. We got new copper gas/water pipes and there overall service was top notch. I would definitely recommend RK plumbing to family and friends!

I am pretty sure that I left a Yelp review for them at that time, but it seems to have disappeared. This is concerning to me - and others - as for some reason negative reviews of this company are disappearing.
Currently (maybe not counting my review when it posts) there are 14 visible reviews and... get this... EIGHTY-TWO (82) hidden reviews.
So, here's my review.
Last year we had a drain clog. I called them up and spoke to a lady. She seemed like she was packing bad attitude - very rude and unpleasant. The funny thing is, I was not rude or unpleasant when I called. She made me feel almost bad for calling to have them come out. I mean, f-me for giving them business, right?
Anyway, the guy comes out. His attitude is okay - a little better than the rude lady who took the appointment. He does fix the problem. When he presents the bill, though, it seemed very high for the work that was done - and the amount of time it took to fix the problem.
He gave me a business card, which I put in my desk drawer.
Fast forward to this week - about a year later...
We have another clog. I find the business card in my desk, but do not remember my less-than-satisfactory experience. So, I call. Guess what? The same lady answers the phone.... and she is STILL packing a dirty bag full of rudeness. Okay. Whatever. The good news here, for me, however is that NOW I remember this company. I ended the conversation as nicely as I could, and called another company.
I guess if you don't mind having a rude vibe sent your way, and receiving a bill which will seem higher than it should be... then go right ahead and call 'em up.
I've been living in a 65 year old home for nearly 26 years. Things are breaking down constantly. Thank goodness for RK Knight Plumbing. Last month it was the shower faucet. This month it was the toilet. I bought a toilet from one of the Club Warehouses and Randy Knight came out and installed it for me. I was quoted an amount and that is exactly what I paid. The job was done professionally and I am happy with the results. Thank you.

The phone call is taken professionally, the plumber arrives on time, he is clean cut and wears shoe covers in the house, they know what they are doing (we have had two different plumbers from RK Knight and they both were great) and they charge a reasonable fee. In fact, I had a sink problem that two other plumbers tried to fix and couldn't ...one of them even saying the whole sink had to be pulled out and replaced....,but RK Knight just fixed it. Most importantly they are polite to customers. We are sold and finally have a family plumber.

First time to use R.K. Knight and would call them again with any plumbing problem. We made an appointment and they showed up right on time. They assessed the problem and made recommendations. It's been a couple of weeks since the work was completed and everything is fine. It seemed a bit expensive, but from my experience, all plumbing is pricey. It sure beats trying to do it yourself. From the first phone call to job completion, everyone we talked to and dealt with were very courteous and professional. Overall an excellent job.

Shawn was excellent. It was a bigger job than first anticipated but he followed through and completed the job. Would definitely recommend them again.
We called RK Knight for a backed up kitchen sink. Out of a few other companies we called RK took our call and was able to get a technician to us sooner than the time promised. Guillermo was our technician, he was thorough in explaining the issue and was professional and personable while completing the job. He also gave advice on how to keep the problem from coming back. Their customer service was good and they were open on a Saturday so as far as communication they do well in that area.
We are a Hair Salon so we're very busy we needed an emergency service because our water heater shut off and we only had cold water running for clients. Technician came within 30 minutes he was there for about 15 minutes did a few tests come to find out that the reset button on the water heater need to be pressed. THey charged us about $200. Less than 2 weeks later that issue is still happening. Me list to say they did not fully repair or solve the problem just temporarily when we called and asked for them to come take a look and actually let us know why it was not working they told us we would have to pay again and because it was a reset button issue.
I would not recommend this company.
Plumbing can be the most draining service on a
House. It important to trust and feel confident with the service you are receiving. I am completely confident and appreciate the honestly given during my consultation. Josh & Hugo were great and thorough. Highly recommend their service.
Very difficult finding a plumber the day after Thanksgiving. RK Knight was the only plumber who responded to me after trying 3 others. They came out within 3 hours of my call and the problem was fixed within 15 minutes. The Plumber was friendly and knew exactly what the problem was immediately. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was I thought they were a little over priced for the service. It's been about 2 years since I had this same problem, so I don't know if drain clearing service has gone up in price, but the fee today was about $30 more than what I typically pay. I asked the plumber if the fed was extra because it was the day after a holiday and he said that was their regular price. Just glad it got fixed right away.

We had some issues with our pipe replacement with another company and i requested for the Knight Team to double check. They were very informative and documented what needed to be done. I appreciate their honesty and would call them for future jobs.
I called the company at 10:00am and spoke to someone who was friendly. I explained that I needed my issue taken care of that day. They set up an appointment at 2:00pm that same day. The plumber came out, was friendly, and even wore coverings over his work shoes so he wouldn't damage my floor. They gave me a fair estimate and completed the work within 3 hours that same day for the price they had quoted me. I would most definitely call them again!!!
Call RK Knight and got a quote the same day as my call. Needed to fix a pin hole leak on the outside of my house. Got a reasonable quote and scheduled the work to be done the following week. Work was done as described and was done quickly. Great quality job and would highly recommend.
Text follow through and phone call confirm on appointment. While they couldn't handle my unique situation with an expensive stand alone unit. They attempted and acknowledged quickly they did not know. Mark of a tradesmen is to know the limits.

Living in uptown Whittier calls for dealing with OLD pipes. After calling RK, they sent over 2 great technicians who helped unclog the bathroom tub and even came through next day for the kitchen sink drain. Great customer service and great deals if you check in on yelp

Called Knight Plumbing when we had no hot water from our tankless.
They came over the same day, determined the problem, ordered the part from Noritz, and gave me the option to save a few bucks and pick up the part myself.
Ran down, picked up the part, called the office on my way back, and Randy came back out same day and installed the part.....Presto - hot water!
These guys are friendly, and know how to get the job done with as little fuss as possible.
RK Knight Plumbing gets an A+ for excellent customer service from me! From Jodie who made my appointment, to Ronnie who called me three times to update me and let me know what time someone would be at my house, to Lou, the plumber that came out on the call- excellent! Did good job installing a water heater but found out I could have paid less won't use again.
Our bathtub clogged up last Friday. We didn't know about it until after 2pm Friday afternoon. We called RK Knight Plumbers, and they came out within the next 90 minutes. We were very happy with the prompt and efficient service we received! They were able to take care of our problem in a very short time. We will always use RK Knight & highly recommend them!

Our toilet overflowed and despite my attempts to unplug it, I couldn't and my gagging didn't help! Josh and his apprentice Memo were introducing themselves not long after I called RK Knight plumbing for help. It was a Saturday and I expected a big price for a weekend call. The man who answered the phone couldn't have been nicer. And the resulting bill was more than reasonable.

I am pleased with this company. They arrived on schedule. Wore masks and covered their shoes. We ran into unexpected problems and they dealt with them and made sure everything was right. They cleaned up any mess and left every thing clean. Showed us how to use the installation Their price was fair and I would not hesitate using them again and recommend them. They installed a new valve as well as a new shut off of the incoming water supply
Living in uptown Whittier calls for dealing with OLD pipes. After calling RK, they sent over 2 great technicians who helped unclog the bathroom tub and even came through next day for the kitchen sink drain. Great customer service and great deals if you check in on yelp

Very difficult finding a plumber the day after Thanksgiving. RK Knight was the only plumber who responded to me after trying 3 others. They came out within 3 hours of my call and the problem was fixed within 15 minutes. The Plumber was friendly and knew exactly what the problem was immediately. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was I thought they were a little over priced for the service. It's been about 2 years since I had this same problem, so I don't know if drain clearing service has gone up in price, but the fee today was about $30 more than what I typically pay. I asked the plumber if the fed was extra because it was the day after a holiday and he said that was their regular price. Just glad it got fixed right away.

He ran a camera down the pipes and yes they were clear, but the problem would be back because the contractor that I used to replace all of the drain lines 10 years ago turned out to have been very unqualified.
Lou and Shawn came back the following day, and in less than 3 hours had the old pipes cut out and a proper set installed and with a pitch that kept the water flowing. Unlike my previous setup that had dips and valleys that created mini traps throughout the lines. I was holding my breath at the cost, but they came up with a price that was fair. The best news, it all works perfectly now.
This company employs good plumbers that know what they are doing. They are focused on repeat customers, so they do everything possible to make you happy!

I had an emergency where my hot water would not shut off on a bathroom sink. They came out within 45 minutes and shut it off for me. We made a plan for them to replace the faucet making sure it could be shut off in the future as well. While they were here, they also installed a new dishwasher and a garbage disposal. Everything is working great now. They told me to call them in the next few days if I have any issues.

I had a plumbing emergency and had to shut the water off to the house the night prior. I called and they had a cancellation that morning and came over within 30 minutes. Randy was kind, explained the problem which happened to be a washer and screw issue. He gave me two different options explaining both and then was on his way within that same hour. We asked RK Knight to come out to get a second opinion on a clogged sink drain that we received a pretty high quote for from another company. Shawn came out within a few hours and was able to clear the blockage without having to replace any pipes as the other company was recommending. They had to clear roots out of our main sewer line exiting the house--(as of now, we've opted for the temporary, as opposed to permanent fix for this problem)--but the plumber educated me on what exactly was going on, what I'd eventually have to do, and what my various options were. Part of this job was actually pretty disgusting, and our guy dove right in and cleaned it all up without batting an eyelash. We have used them for other problems in the past as well, and they were always quick to respond and very easy to do business with. RK Knight is the sort of small, family-run, honest-dealing company that we're rapidly losing in this country (which is sad). But hire these guys and you'll get a taste of how things used to be...and how things ought to be still.

Just wanted to again write a quick review. Randy came to our house to give us a quote to fix both our showers and a sink that had a broken drain. The pricing was fair and the showers were fixed. I called RK Knight to inspect the drainage in the new house I was considering buying. This is a must for older houses. They came out with their video camera and open the clean out and inspected the line to the sewer. The man who did the job was friendly and efficient and showed me what he found on the video screen he has with him. I recommend RK Knight for this and any other plumbing needs you might have.They did a great job for me.
The knob in our clawfoot tub that changes the water from the faucet to the shower was shooting water out the side of it. I called RK Monday evening and made an appointment for Tuesday between 10am and 12pm. Around 9am Tuesday, RK called and asked if it was okay if they came early. I said yes. At first, the plumber was a little concerned about damaging the knob since it is old. After my husband told him how his father had fixed it a number of years ago, he easily repaired it so it's good as new. We also had him check out our toilet since it had started to sound a little different while filling up. He suggested a little piece of rust may have gotten loose and was trapped in the intake, but otherwise he found everything was working well. There was no need to repair it.

I asked for a quote over the phone to have my bathroom pipes snaked. They told me they would need to come out and take a look before they gave me a quote. The quote was $450 to snake two bathrooms and when I said no thank you, was told it was $39 just to come out and take a look. Sad that a local company is such a rip-off. Stay away!!!
This company is great! I was able to get an appointment the very next day. Randy arrived right on time which I really appreciate. Randy was great. He quickly figured out the problem and fixed it. Just wanted you to know that R. K. Knight Plumbing is a LIFE SAVER.
I hired another plumbing company Friday morning, Veterans Day. The plumber that came out didn't have enough experience to fix my problem. He even failed to turn off my water, turning off my sprinkler system instead. I had to make an emergency telephone call to my water company at 9 PM in order for them to turn off my water. His error caused me extensive water damage. Late that afternoon, that company offered me an appointment for either Monday or Wednesday of the following week. They thought my water was turned off but was willing for my family to be without running water for 4 to 6 days.
My sister called her long time plumber, R. K. Knight Plumbing, and explained my situtation. The owner, Ron Knight, was willing to come out Saturday morning to do the job. The leak was in the kitchen wall. He was able to fix the copper pipe without cutting into my kitchen cabinets or family room wall. Ron is a pleasant man who really knows his business. I really appreciate him helping me. He did a FANTASTIC JOB! His company deserves your business.

The solution was easy enough for me to repair so he explained it and gave me the option of repairing on my own (less expensive) or he would fix it for me (more expensive). I needed my garbage disposal replaced, so I went out and bought one. I called R.K. Knight to come out and install it. They were there for less than 45 minutes, but on their paperwork they put that they were there about 2 hours. They charged me $245 to install a disposal. Really?
I won't be calling them again. I feel I was overcharged.

Josh and Hugo showed up even earlier than expected, followed all Covid protocols, quickly assessed my situation and told me their plan. Quoted the price before the work, then got to it. Pleased with the job they did, very professional! Would recommend.

RK Knight to the rescue again. After having RK Knight clear my main line, i had even more issues on the other side of the house. I called and spoke to Ronnie and he set me up an appointment with one of his plumbers to come out and give me an estimate to have some of the drains replaced. After reviewing it they were able to give me a price and set me up an appointment. Top notch service and very professional will be using RK Knight for my plumbing services.
I have to say that I was VERY disappointed. We used this company several years ago and they seemed ok but I wouldn't ever use them again.
The plumber showed up and asked what the problem was. When I explained what where the stop up was he looked at it and suggested that we get a new sink and pipes. The sink and pipe were just fine but needed to have them reconnected and lined up. After telling us the exorbitant price for this simple job we decided that we didn't have time to deal with so we reluctantly agreed. While he was sitting there by the sink he informed us that the sink was not draining well and needed to be cleared. Once again (for a price) we agreed to let him do the work. We, out of curiosity, asked him what he would charge to replace the kitchen faucet and the price, just for labor because we had the replacement faucet, was outrageous! Skipping that, he spent a little time running a snake in the drain, collected the check (ouch!) and left.
Later that afternoon our son came by and looked at the sink (which was leaking even after the repair). He pulled out the trap and it was completely clogged. That was the reason the drain wasn't working, our son pointed out, and he is not a plumber.
I, quite frankly, feel taken by this company and will NEVER use them again.
I just looked back at the reviews and found it interesting that my review didn't show up anymore. Many businesses have reviews that go back many years but not this one?? Who makes these decisions to change the actual review standings by doing this?

We had some issues with our pipe replacement with another company and i requested for the Knight Team to double check. They were very informative and documented what needed to be done. I appreciate their honesty and would call them for future jobs.
I have used RK Knight plumbing twice now and each time I called they were able to come right out after I had called 3 other plumbing companies. I was quoted a price and was never charge more. Sean was the one who came to the house each time and was able to diagnose the problem.

RK Knight Plumbing what a great company! They were so fast in responding. I thought I would have to wait until Saturday morning since I called on Friday evening. Instead they called me back quickly and arrived within 10 minutes. Both gentlemen were friendly and respectful of my home....they wore shoe coverings as they entered my home. I was satisfied with the service, but it was way more expensive than other plumbers.
I was charged $149 for the kitchen sink stoppage and $99 for unjamming the garbage disposal. Shawn worked on it for 25 minutes. I got a $25 deduction because of a coupon they had in their website.

Plumbing issues can be very stressful and expensive at times. We have used RK Knight due to there extreme professionalism, helpfulness, readiness and fair priced.

Timelessness and efficiency are rare in company's. However RK Knight is always available and quick to set up an appointment! At times, I have called at 4pm and have been able to schedule an appointment for first thing the next day. Found RK Knight on yelp because of other great reviews. The team was very honest about scheduling for work to be done at my property and very quick to get the job done. One of the employee's took his time to not only explain the work to be performed at my home but also took time to draw out the problem so I can understand the plumbing issue under my home. I have never seen someone take time out to draw out the issue in order to help me understand. I appreciate a company that not tries to sell you a product or service but really takes the time to help you understand the problem and options to get it completed. Awoke and jumped in the shower. After the shock of icy water, I shivered to the water heater to find no pilot light. Tried to get it back going with no luck!
Called RK Knight. They have done work at this house since my grand parents owned it.
They gave me a time of 2-4PM and promised sooner if a worker became available. About 11am I get a call that help is on the way.
Randy takes a look, tries to start the pilot. Concludes the unit looks good and it is likely the Thermo Coupler. We agree on a price and he gets to work. All done in about 40 minutes.
All looks good and clean. Hot water is flowing. Thanks Randy!

If it matters to you that your Plumber is Covid vaccinated, do not call RK Knight....I was told none of their plumbers were vaccinated but that they wear masks. I had an emergency so asked that distancing be observed. Shawn the plumber who came to my house said to me You gotta do what you gotta do and was, in fact, partly masked during the call. The work seems to be fine but I was uncomfortable during the entire time, so I can't recommend them.

My mom is a loyal customer of RK Knight and has been for years. As a new homeowner, I have had a few minor plumbing issues pop up and I have called the larger chain companies that advertise their great deals everywhere, assuming they were cheaper than this mom and pop company. Big mistake. They fix your issue, charge double what they advertise and try to sell you a ton of other services. So when I found a pipe leaking under my kitchen sink I finally gave in and listened to my mother. Within an hour a very clean, professional, and friendly plumber was at my house. Within seconds he diagnosed the problem and fixed it for far less than I was expecting to pay. Not only did he NOT try to sell me other products and services I didn't ask for, he told me the really expensive repair one of the chain companies said I needed was not necessary. When someone is honest with me that is the key to earning my business. I am now a loyal RK Knight customer. I hate to admit it, but my mom might have been right for once. If you have a problem give them a call. Reasonable, fast, and friendly!!

We had a clog that caused our bathtub to back up and empty from our toilet. I called them first thing Monday morning and Memo was here in about 30 min. He was prompt, cleared the problem and found a problem with our toilet install in the process.
He's also easy to talk to and while talking to him we discovered what must have been the cause of the clog (flushable wipes aren't really flushable at all). I hope we don't need to use them again, but if I had to I'd definitely work with them again.

I can't even begin to describe how happy I am with the service of this company. Our water heater started acting up and needed to be examined quickly. I gave them a call as soon as they opened and was greeted warmly. A tech was out to my house within the hour to examine the water heater. Unfortunately, it needed to be replaced, but I was quickly given a fair estimate, and he immediately went to work installing the new water heater and was finished within about 2 hours. It's been about 5 months now and no issues.
Just a few weeks after this, I felt a wet spot on our carpet upstairs and knew we had a leak. Again, I called and was greeted warmly. The dispatcher had someone out to me within less than 2 hours. He determined a sink pipe (that I had recently had another plumber work on prior to the water heater) had been installed incorrectly and was causing the leak. Again, I was given a quick estimate and he went to work on fixing it and completed it in about 30 minutes.
This company is kind, fair, professional, and quick, and I'd recommend them for any plumbing needs. They're now my go-to!

We were impressed from the moment Randy Knight walked into our Friendly Hills home. The first thing he did was to put surgical booties over his shoes to protect outer floors. I have never been more satisfied with a plumbing service in my life! I called one morning and I received such great customer service that I decided to put my trust in this company. Shaun came out the same day to repair my leaking, overflowing, random-running old toilet. He took a look and gave me his honest opinion. He told me not to put any money into it. Wow, our past plumber would have twisted a knob and charged us $200. He suggested that we purchase another toilet and gave us a few suggestions. Our current toilet is over 30 years old, so it made perfect sense. We did purchase another toilet and Shaun came back the same day and installed it in less than 30 minutes! I am the owner of a home in Whittier that is 83 years young. Plumbing can be a challenge because everything is original in the house. I have been using RK Knight for years. Whenever I have an issue, they are here promptly. They go out of their way to find the parts they need to make repairs. They have never told me it can't be fixed.
They just worked all day in the rain replacing my gas line. I was impressed that they set up a couple of canopies and worked as though they weren't battling the water in the trench they had to dig.
This company is the one you want to employ if you want consistent reliability and service that is always stellar.
We used these guys about a year ago.
I am pretty sure that I left a Yelp review for them at that time, but it seems to have disappeared. This is concerning to me - and others - as for some reason negative reviews of this company are disappearing.
Currently (maybe not counting my review when it posts) there are 14 visible reviews and... get this... EIGHTY-TWO (82) hidden reviews.
So, here's my review.
Last year we had a drain clog. I called them up and spoke to a lady. She seemed like she was packing bad attitude - very rude and unpleasant. The funny thing is, I was not rude or unpleasant when I called. She made me feel almost bad for calling to have them come out. I mean, f-me for giving them business, right?
Anyway, the guy comes out. His attitude is okay - a little better than the rude lady who took the appointment. He does fix the problem. When he presents the bill, though, it seemed very high for the work that was done - and the amount of time it took to fix the problem.
He gave me a business card, which I put in my desk drawer.
Fast forward to this week - about a year later...
We have another clog. I find the business card in my desk, but do not remember my less-than-satisfactory experience. So, I call. Guess what? The same lady answers the phone.... and she is STILL packing a dirty bag full of rudeness. Okay. Whatever. The good news here, for me, however is that NOW I remember this company. I ended the conversation as nicely as I could, and called another company.
I guess if you don't mind having a rude vibe sent your way, and receiving a bill which will seem higher than it should be... then go right ahead and call 'em up.
Had a clogged bathroom sink. Called RK Knight Plumbing this morning and had a technician (Shawn) arrive within 15 minutes. He cleared the drain and made sure I was satisfied with the job. First time using RK Knight, will definitely rely on them again. Shawn was professional and explained each part of the process. THANK YOU!!!

I was satisfied with the service, but it was way more expensive than other plumbers.
I was charged $149 for the kitchen sink stoppage and $99 for unjamming the garbage disposal. Shawn worked on it for 25 minutes. I got a $25 deduction because of a coupon they had in their website.
First time using them and they were great! On time, clean and professional. They just gained a family of customers.
Excellent work every time we have used them. Randy was very courteous and informative. He let me know exactly what is was doing and what the cost would be. They quote a time and arrived on time, diagnosed the problem and explained what should be done and what the cost would be.

I have to say that I was VERY disappointed. We used this company several years ago and they seemed ok but I wouldn't ever use them again.
The plumber showed up and asked what the problem was. When I explained what where the stop up was he looked at it and suggested that we get a new sink and pipes. The sink and pipe were just fine but needed to have them reconnected and lined up. After telling us the exorbitant price for this simple job we decided that we didn't have time to deal with so we reluctantly agreed. While he was sitting there by the sink he informed us that the sink was not draining well and needed to be cleared. Once again (for a price) we agreed to let him do the work. We, out of curiosity, asked him what he would charge to replace the kitchen faucet and the price, just for labor because we had the replacement faucet, was outrageous! Skipping that, he spent a little time running a snake in the drain, collected the check (ouch!) and left.
Later that afternoon our son came by and looked at the sink (which was leaking even after the repair). He pulled out the trap and it was completely clogged. That was the reason the drain wasn't working, our son pointed out, and he is not a plumber.
I, quite frankly, feel taken by this company and will NEVER use them again.
I just looked back at the reviews and found it interesting that my review didn't show up anymore. Many businesses have reviews that go back many years but not this one?? Who makes these decisions to change the actual review standings by doing this?

Our entire plumbing was redone when our house was renovated. We never had issues prior but were convinced that we needed to. Never have we had so many plumbing issues.
Who saved the day? Knight plumbing! They came on New Year's Day when our toilets where backed up so bad that it was coming out of our tub! Yuk! There are many reasons why I like this company! First one is when they're on their way to your house they send you a photo of the person that will be arriving, plus a friendly text message. This way you're not alarmed when a huge man appears at your doorstep. Their customer service is one of the best I've received from a plumbing company ever!
The first time they were at my house they spent about an hour clearing our pipes, and gave us a receipt with a 30 day warranty. Sadly our pipes were clogged 29 days later and they came out free of charge and spent over two hours on our pipes and they've never given us a problem since. The second time they came out they asked where the septic was to make sure that everything was running smoothly, and they found the source of the problem. Now I know it's not the plumbers fault it's whoever is putting baby wipes down my toilet.
Pretty impressed overall with the company and would like to consider them our regular plumbers.
You cannot go wrong with RK Knight Plumbing.
They are a family run business with pride of the job.
Randy came today to install a new water heater. He was polite, business-like and focused on the job. Randy is a real gentleman. The project was finished in a timely manner and clean up was done. We highly recommend RK Knight for your plumbing needs.

First time to use R.K. Knight and would call them again with any plumbing problem. We made an appointment and they showed up right on time. They assessed the problem and made recommendations. It's been a couple of weeks since the work was completed and everything is fine. It seemed a bit expensive, but from my experience, all plumbing is pricey. It sure beats trying to do it yourself. From the first phone call to job completion, everyone we talked to and dealt with were very courteous and professional. Overall an excellent job.
Our sinks were clogged and Sean did a great job fixing the problem. Very professional. Thank you RK Knight Plumbing for helping us out at Uptown Barbers.
Their customer service was good and they were open on a Saturday so as far as communication they do well in that area.
We are a Hair Salon so we're very busy we needed an emergency service because our water heater shut off and we only had cold water running for clients. Technician came within 30 minutes he was there for about 15 minutes did a few tests come to find out that the reset button on the water heater need to be pressed. THey charged us about $200. Less than 2 weeks later that issue is still happening. Me list to say they did not fully repair or solve the problem just temporarily when we called and asked for them to come take a look and actually let us know why it was not working they told us we would have to pay again and because it was a reset button issue.
I would not recommend this company.

Just wanted you to know that R. K. Knight Plumbing is a LIFE SAVER.
I hired another plumbing company Friday morning, Veterans Day. The plumber that came out didn't have enough experience to fix my problem. He even failed to turn off my water, turning off my sprinkler system instead. I had to make an emergency telephone call to my water company at 9 PM in order for them to turn off my water. His error caused me extensive water damage. Late that afternoon, that company offered me an appointment for either Monday or Wednesday of the following week. They thought my water was turned off but was willing for my family to be without running water for 4 to 6 days.
My sister called her long time plumber, R. K. Knight Plumbing, and explained my situtation. The owner, Ron Knight, was willing to come out Saturday morning to do the job. The leak was in the kitchen wall. He was able to fix the copper pipe without cutting into my kitchen cabinets or family room wall. Ron is a pleasant man who really knows his business. I really appreciate him helping me. He did a FANTASTIC JOB! His company deserves your business.

We've been using RK Knight Plumbing & Rooter for years. RK Knight plumbing is the oldest family-run plumbing business in the city of Whittier. Each time we have used RK Knight, they have always been very professional, courteous, and very friendly. Their prices are fair and you can usually get a quote within a day on most jobs. The only exception is when major work is needed. Recently, Southern California Gas Company dropped a big bomb on our household (and wallet). They attempted to install a smart (advance) meter, but gave us two weeks to replace a corroded gas line that fed into the house. RK Knight was quick to respond and not only that, brought our entire gas line up to current standards using better piping and shut-off valves. We got a quote with in three days (since they had to plan out the best route for the new pipe to avoid killing the huge Jacaranda tree in our parkway. That would have upset Whittier Park and Recreation. Nevertheless, they completed the job within 5 days and gave us a 10 year warranty on the project. RK Knight had done other projects for us including relining the water main leading out into the street, replacing the toilets with low-flush toilets, and installing a kitchen sink and garbage disposer. RK Knight also did some minor projects for us as well. We like and trust their service and the workmanship is superior. I highly recommend calling on RK Knight for your plumbing needs.

Once again, this is my go-to company for plumbing needs. I called only minutes before closing last friday with a severe stoppage that i needed to have cleared. I knew it was a long shot to have them make it out, but, i thought I'd give it a try anyhow. Needless to say, Ronnie made it happen. I figured he'd be bitter when he arrived, considering it was last minute on a friday, but, like always, he was very polite, understanding, and there to fix the issue as needed. They haven't failed me yet. Thanks guys!

After calling several other local plumbers just to come out and provide a quote I was quickly frustrated with their canceling of appointments and lack of response. I finally called RK Knight on a Saturday and they came out on the same day to evaluate and quote. They came back on Monday to perform the work for the agreed upon price. I am pleased with this company. They arrived on schedule. Wore masks and covered their shoes. We ran into unexpected problems and they dealt with them and made sure everything was right. They cleaned up any mess and left every thing clean. Showed us how to use the installation Their price was fair and I would not hesitate using them again and recommend them. They installed a new valve as well as a new shut off of the incoming water supply

Just wanted to again write a quick review. Randy came to our house to give us a quote to fix both our showers and a sink that had a broken drain. The pricing was fair and the showers were fixed. Even though we couldn't afford to fix the sink, Randy jimmy-rigged it so it would function for us until we can afford a long term solution. Great company with great employees.
My toilet began to leak and found the flange was also broke so I called RK Knight they were able come out next day during this pandemic. The guys were detailed and thorough; very professional and when the job was completed they cleaned and sanitized the bathroom. Call RK Knight and got a quote the same day as my call. Needed to fix a pin hole leak on the outside of my house. Got a reasonable quote and scheduled the work to be done the following week. Work was done as described and was done quickly. Great quality job and would highly recommend.
Randy and his team are excellent!!! Had many leaks around the house that were put off. He came in, replaced the piping under our kitchen sink, replaced the garbage disposal, and fixed leaks in the bathroom. Job was completed all within the day. I contacted a different plumber in the area who was able to come out same day. Unfortunately, he not only was NOT able to resolve the matter, but he came up with a crazy list of stuff that didn't make sense and wanted thousands to do it, pressuring me with a panic tactic. I ended up pausing at this point in order to get a second opinion.
In the meantime, my husband contacted a buddy in the area and he said they knew the owners of RK really well and that they are who they recommend.
We contacted RK the following day, and they were able to get out there same day at this time. They immediately found the problem, and it was resolved within two hours.
They provided us with an estimate of adding a clean out at the front of the house for any future issues. The estimate provided was substantially less than the first plumber who wanted a fortune for a bunch of stuff that wasn't necessary.
We will be adding a clean out in the future to make any issues even easier to resolve.

My son and Ron Knights son used to play little league baseball together and so when we needed a plumber we knew who to call. New to the neighborhood and found RK Knight Plumbing on the internet. They are on time and very professional. Have used them twice so far. One of their technician Frank is particularly helpful. We've been using RK Knight Plumbing & Rooter for years. RK Knight plumbing is the oldest family-run plumbing business in the city of Whittier. Each time we have used RK Knight, they have always been very professional, courteous, and very friendly. Their prices are fair and you can usually get a quote within a day on most jobs. The only exception is when major work is needed. Recently, Southern California Gas Company dropped a big bomb on our household (and wallet). They attempted to install a smart (advance) meter, but gave us two weeks to replace a corroded gas line that fed into the house. RK Knight was quick to respond and not only that, brought our entire gas line up to current standards using better piping and shut-off valves. We got a quote with in three days (since they had to plan out the best route for the new pipe to avoid killing the huge Jacaranda tree in our parkway. That would have upset Whittier Park and Recreation. Nevertheless, they completed the job within 5 days and gave us a 10 year warranty on the project. RK Knight had done other projects for us including relining the water main leading out into the street, replacing the toilets with low-flush toilets, and installing a kitchen sink and garbage disposer. RK Knight also did some minor projects for us as well. We like and trust their service and the workmanship is superior. I highly recommend calling on RK Knight for your plumbing needs.
