If the Yelp fairy allowed me to award just one 6th star to all the reviews I've given over the years, it would go to Primo Plumbing. Charles is a master plumber, as evidenced by the monster systems he works on at SFO in the mornings. He fixed a number of issues in my house, from replacing the sink faucet to fixing my bath tub stopper. Some of these required creative solutions that stumped my prior plumber. He's also responsive, polite, and a swell guy.

A warning about billing, however: Charles may try to undercharge you. If he pulls this stunt, stay firm and insist in paying him for his time and materials in full.

New post:  our garbage disposal made an awful noise, night before Thanksgiving. Turned it off/back on, noise still there. Looked inside with a flashlight, saw what looked like a paper clip. We spent a couple of hours trying to pull it out, then called Charles. We followed his advice and still couldn't pull it out. He came day after T'giving, and had to dismantle the disposal, pull out as much of the paper clip as he could, and then reinstall the disposal.

My puppy followed Charles outside when he was working, and I didn't know until Charles brought him inside a minute later (no words to express my gratitude and relief for that-so I hope he reads this).

While he was here, he fixed a bathroom sink drain device. He is ethical, way more than reasonable in his invoicing, and a true gentleman. A bit rare in today's world.

Charles is great!!  Charles fixed and updated all the fixtures in our bathtub.  He did very clean work, and my wife and I are very happy with the job he did.  His price was also very fair!  I will be using Charles and Primo Plumbing for all my plumbing needs in the future!!

This is the third time I use Charles. He was prompt,
efficient and fair. I wish I can find someone like him in Sonoma where we also have a home

Charles removed our old kitchen faucet and installed a new one. There were some unexpected issues: a crack in our P-pipe (so that's why it's always damp under the sink), a missing washer, and a flex hose that wasn't long enough, but he handled everything. He was friendly, communicative, and very affordable.

Charles has been a lifesaver the couple of times I've worked with him.  I have a funky old shower which I love (though its hard to get parts for).  The hot water was leaking and he quickly came over and diagnosed it - a faulty cartridge on the hot water side.  He pulled out the piece to get the part number and went and picked it up from a plumbing distribution shop that afternoon and installed it with minimal fuss.  Very respectful of me and my home, honest and stands behind his work.

Charles at Primo Plumbing is amazing! I'm embarrassed I didn't submit a review sooner. Over the past few years, he's helped remove old gas lines in the ceiling of our 100+ yr old victorian to make room for new light fixtures, rerouted gas lines that were mistakenly mixed up between my and my neighbor's meters, helped us replace bathroom plumbing (bath/shower valve, faucet and shower head, sink water supply lines and drain, tub and drain), and upgrade an old toilet drain. Charles can do it all -- and is friendlier, more reliable, more hardworking, more practical, and more honest and fairly priced than pretty much any other contractor I've ever worked with. I cannot recommend him enough.

Charles is the BEST!!! I needed someone to install a complicated water purification system under my kitchen sink and after another plumber flaked on me, I decided to call Charles.  He was prompt in responding and kept me posted on his arrival as he had another job before mine.  He is very thorough and went back and forth my place, his place and the hardware store to get the necessary parts because my building has a very old plumbing system.  The job took longer than expected because it was a lot more complicated than we thought.  For all the time Charles spent on getting it all setup, he was very reasonable in the final charge.  I am super grateful to have found him.  There are absolutely no leaks and I have amazingly clean filtered water.  If you need any sort of plumbing work done, Charles is your man!

Charles is great!  First of all, he returned my phone call when no one else did!  My bathtub was backed up and I was worried it would not get fixed today.  Charles came promptly and did great work, and is so nice.  Highly recommend Primo Plumbing!

If there was a 6 star rating I'd give Charles that.  He did plumbing work for a bathroom remodel for us and did great work. He always showed up when he said he would the quality of his work was very good - if you have any jobs that require exposed soldered plumbing pick Charles - it was almost a shame to sheet rock over his soldering!

Also we had a shower cartridge fail and I called him - he was really busy but gave me advice on how to replace it - now that's service!

Charles and his assistant, Eric, added another cold water line for my new fridge, which has a water and ice dispenser.  :)  He showed up a bit late due to another appointment that ran late, but he called beforehand and was very polite and conscientious.  He also helped me clean the glass trap in my dishwasher, which was full of glass and other things that were preventing optimal cleaning.  

Ultimately, Charles is a nice guy, professional, and his assistant and he do great work.  Will definitely use Primo again and recommend the company to others.

OMG Charles is amazing.  This might sound crazy but - we got home and our tankless toilet was running like crazy and wouldn't flush.  I panicked and called him at 8 pm on a Wednesday.  He answered the phone!  And then he patiently talked me through a solution - didn't even have to come out and was very kind and helpful.  WOW.  If something goes haywire I'm definitely calling him back!  Thank you so much, Charles

Need a plumber? Charles is the best! I'm a Realtor here in the city since 1998. Clients are always asking me for referrals for tradesmen, I never have to worry when I refer them to Charles. The clients always thank me for sending him their way. I have been doing business with him for over 10 years . In fact, when my Wife and I did our remodel, Charles did all of our plumbing (kitchen, baths, laundry room, water & gas supply). And just recently we called Charles to change out our conventional waters heaters to (2) Takagi tankless water heaters that are computer controlled. We are extremely happy with all the work that he has done for us and will continue to refer and use his services.

When our water heater went out, Charles was quick, responsive, and worked clean. Very friendly, easy to talk to and reasonably priced. No muss,no fuss. He's a keeper.

My only regret is that I hadn't been using these guys sooner!!

Wow, talk about great service! I called him after lunch hoping I'd be able to get an appointment for later in the week but he was able to come by tonight. He immediately figured out the problem. He's polite, kind and knowledgable - exactly the qualities you want in someone coming into your home. Unfortunately I need to order a part to fix it, but it's such a relief knowing I'm in good hands

We had a back-up in the kitchen sink and needed someone to come out on a Friday night. Charles took the job and got it fixed. I called at 8PM on Friday and Charles promptly called us back. Within an hour he was at our place with his equipment. As others have mentioned, Charles is a friendly guy. He's professional and has a current contractor's license. He discussed his rates up front so there were no surprises and when he got here he went right to work. We would definitely call Charles again.

Charles did a complicated job very very well, and sent a bill that was quite reasonable
given the time spent on the job for which we didn't even ask for an estimate or bid.  Very professional, very reliable.  Twice he had to cancel or delay an appointment, but
that is understandable given the nature of his business, and ours was not an emergency.  Polite, conscientious, reliable, skilled.

Called Primo at 0900 regarding plugged up toilet and bath tub drain.  Charles Fong said he wold be  here by 1200.  Got here at 1130, and had the problems fixed by1230, including a minor adjustment on the tub faucet.  He charged me for 1 hour (fair price).

We had a great experience with Charles when our water heater failed. On less than a day's notice, he purchased a replacement and installed it at a very convenient time for us, even though this meant he was working well into the evening. Very clean work, polite and professional service, and the final price was $50 less than estimated.
