Had a leaking toilet valve/hose and called Andy from Peter Lai Plumbing. He was tied up on a job in the morning but manage to get come and fix the leak in the afternoon. Very professional and explain what happen. Fixed it within a reasonable time and his pricing are reasonable unlike most companies that charges an arm and an leg. From now on, Andy's going to be my go to guy when I have any plumbing issues. Highly recommend them.

My shower faucet is running both hot and cold water inconsistently. I'm getting more cold water than hot water. I've had many people come over to look at my water heater tank and the shower itself. We have tried everything and no solution was found until we met Andy Lai. He was knowledgeable and kind. He sincerely wants to help. Andy looked at my water heater tank and tested my water from the bathroom before proceeding with his recommendation. He didn't want us to commit a large chunk of money on something that was not a sure fix. He asked that we change the shower cartridge first and see if that will fix the problem. Surely enough we took that option and it fixed our shower. Andy saved me $2000 Plus on a new water heater tank! Thanks Andy.

Because I always have problems with the condensation coming down through the bathroom drains. I wanted to have an inspection to make sure that the drains are not clogged. I found this place with all the great feedbacks. I decided to try them. Now they are going to be my permanent go to plumber!! I called on Sunday afternoon to check out their schedules. Andy picked up the phone and didn't get upset that I would call on Sunday. He arranged to come over today (Monday) morning to check out the drains. I would definitely recommend Andy and his team for any job! My mom first found him on Yelp for her plumbing job and suggested him for us. We had him come out to our house for two different occasions one to snake the kitchen drain and the other to install dishwasher line for dishwasher installation. Actually I have NO problem with the servise call, the work is done neat and clean. 100%.

What bothered me is : the cost is way too high.

You may not believe it, the works performed I think I can do it as well, just to replace 3 plumbing components.
But the charge is about $350 more than what I expect it would be.

I wish I had asked for a quote.

I had a toilet with a leaky old shut-off valve, a leaky fill valve, and a leaky flush valve. I tried to fix it with less than satisfactory results. Ultimately I had to shutdown the water main...

Then I called these guys. Recommended by my cousin I got Andy to come over to fix the mess I started.

He came early in the morning with a smile and professional demeanor. He even put on slips over his boots so as to not track in the house!

Without fuss and muss he fixed the shut-off valve, replaced the fill valve, and put a new flap for the flush valve and...

...now it's good as new!

Andy even replaced my toilet seat that I was planning to install by myself. Why not have a professional do it?

All and all awesome service! Would highly recommend it to anyone!

Got a quote over the phone for a job I was looking to get done. Was quoted a minimum of $400.

After calling a few other places, determined this price quoted was much higher than all others (double in some cases).

Because of the outrageous rates and the extended time frame for availability, I ended up researching and figured out how to fix this on my own.

Total cost for parts used = $22 at home Depot
Labor costs = $0

Unfortunate that the plumbing professionals of the world seem to be taking advantage of the majority of folks who don't know how or are physically unable to fix issues on their own.

Fast response time and great service. Prices are affordable as well.
Sent in a request for a quote on a Saturday morning around 7am and Andy was over to our property by 9am. He was knowledgeable and walked us through the whole process of what was being done. After getting recommendations from family and friends who could handle surprise plumbing issues when our water heater had begun to leak, my wife and I took a quick look on Yelp to get an additional sense of who operates in our area, solely so we could compare quotes.

Then we found Peter Lai and it turned out they could get it done sooner for less. They got here on time and they were pretty confident about what the problem was. A dead pressure regulator. Before even making an estimate. They made a couple recommendations related to the regulator and to the water heater leak, and we agreed for them to come back in a couple days. They even managed to come back a day early to do the job. They did everything quickly and well. Now all the plumbing problems can be checked off of our list. Don't let high pressure persist, it might make for a nice shower, but it also makes all kinds of things leak.

To his credit, Peter even tried to explain our home warranty provider should cover the repairs.

We're hoping we won't have to call back in the near future now that the main problem is fixed but we know who to turn to if we have any more plumbing issues.

I had a minor shower drain problem. It drains fine with water but in the presence of shampoo or soap, it would slow down a little. At first Andy couldn't find the problem because when he inserted the snake gun 10 meters in, he couldn't find anything. He said the pipe is new and everything clean. So he inserted 40 meters in this time and was able to find some hair, amount to the size of a grape approximately. So that was the culprit!

I am very happy with Andy's service. He was pretty thorough. Where other plumbers probably would stop at 10 meters in, but Andy put in the extra miles and pumped 4X deeper, at 40 meters in. The service was comparably cheap, only $80, whereas another place quoted me about twice the price. I find Andy to be direct and honest. I will definitely use his service again should future plumbing issues arise. Highly recommended!

I called Peter Lai Plumbing because I had a sewer main block caused by SCE work and needed a camera inspection to prove it wasn't our issue. Andy agreed to come out the same day and was really great. Not only did he perform a camera inspection, he snaked the drain and got a second opinion on where the stoppage was to make sure that SCE would have an accurate mark to dig up the road and to ensure that I wouldn't be liable for any work done. Really great work and customer service, I would definitely recommend.

Just purchased a new home. Needed a whole lot of plumbing done to the home. A friend referred us to this company and Andy was the plumber that took care of all our plumbing needs. This was actually the 2nd time I used Peter Lai plumbing. The first time, Andy showed up at 930pm and replaced a section of piping that had a pin hole leak.
Yesterday, I called Andy because of a clog that was causing a back up. We were supposed to meet at 5pm, but he got caught up at an emergency call. He called me in advance to let me know so I didn't waste my time meeting at our original time. He gave an accurate estimate on when he would be able to arrive. He even gave me a call as a heads up when he was on the way. Not sure about the rest of you, but time is important to me. Clearly communicating arrival times for appointments allows me to plan my day/night. Problem was fixed in 15 minutes. Thank you, Andy.

We had a leaky wall shower that wouldn't stop and had to call on Labor Day. Andy from Peter Lai Plumbing came out within 2 hours from time we called and resolved the problem in less than 1 hour. We had communicated and showed pictures thru text of the problem prior to him coming out.

Professionalism was shown at all time and he was considerate to wear protective booties to not dirty the inside of house when he came in. He even trouble shooted a leaking toilet that was not part of the repair. It's a local family business and we would highly recommend supporting them.

We are a property management company and my boss is a licensed plumber but was on a job. My Aunt had a bad back up in her main. Just rented my new warehouse and needed a sink added to an area for a clean room. I was going to save some money and do it myself. It was kind of hard to find because I needed a commercial plumber, per the landlord.

After watching the plumbing work Andy and his team did, I was lucky my partners decided to hire a plumber.

They had to punch holes in the walls, add new pipes, connect it from the restroom and then patch everything back up. It looked pretty hectic.

I would hire them even for smaller work like my bathroom or kitchen at home. Pretty cool people, he even told me if I had any issues, to just call because he offers 24 hour emergency service.

I had water issue with my heater. It happened Saturday late afternoon. I could not find lot of technicians that returned my call. Peter took the call said it will be difficult as he is booked. The leak got worse. I called him again. He said he cannot promise, but will try tomorrow which was Sunday. He could not find any technician in the morning, but tried again in the afternoon and sent Andy to finish the job because he wanted to keep his promise. Job was done in a timely and professional manner. Andy was awesome. I am a satisfied customer and will use Peter for future plumbing needs.

Andy replied very quickly to my Yelp request for a quote, and we set up the appointment. There were truck problems that delayed our appointment, but Andy called as promised when the truck was fixed and showed up a short time later to install our new kitchen faucet. Andy, my original review wasn't very long. Even in reply you are confused. What does Alhambra have to do with anything? My house is in East LA. You are in El Monte. I didn't search in your area, I searched in mine. Yelp is showing your business to people in areas you don't want to go to. That is something you should probably have Yelp fix.

On another note, I have had service workers from Culver City, the Valley and Orange County. I don't see why my house would be any different from a house in your neighborhood. East Los Angeles is governed by Los Angeles County, where you must hold a license anyways since its your county too. Your choosiness has a rotten smell of discrimination to it. After reviewing the yelp reviews, I decided to try Peter Lai plumbing because they were local to us. I was having some back up
problems with the mainline and Andy from Peter Lai plumbing came out promptly the first day I called. Well he checked out the mainline and it appeared to have cleared on it's own. But I noticed there was some leakage around the base of one of our toilets, so we scheduled for him to come back and fix that issue along with doing a visual check with a camera to the mainline.
On his second visit he found that there was backup of water in the mainline. He showed me the problem with the camera viewing and then after clearing the roots, the drainage problem was cleared. He also showed me that there was a crack in our pipe going out from the clean out to the street and that is probably why there was so much roots in that part of the pipe. His suggestion was to periodically rotor blade it to keep it clear as oppose to the more expensive option of replacing the pipe or inner lining the pipe.
I am happy with their service because of their promptness, honesty and also explaining what he was doing and why. I will definitely use them for my future plumbing service

Andy came out to my house for what I thought was a pipe leak behind one of my walls. He informed me that it was probably rain water coming down from a hole in my roof. He diagnosed my problem and gave me good advice on how to approach the HOA with this issue. Even though I actually needed a roofer instead of a plumber, he didn't charge me for making the trip out. Very honest and helpful. I would not hesitate to use them if I have an actual plumbing issue in the future.

At first when I called, Andy answered and at first said didn't toilets. He then probed on the problem I was having and I told him my toilet was still running after changing the flapper and my shut off valve was not working. He's said he would be there in the morning. I expected to be at work late, but he showed up 30 mins earlier than quoted and finished the job in 15 mins. Amazing!!! I ended showing up to work early and his price was decent. When I probed him about initially not fixing toilets, he stated that some people have older toilets where parts are harder to find, which is understandable to his reluctance on working on a toilet. Highly recommended.

I'm in the process of installing a sprinkler system and needed to have two 3/4 threaded ball valves installed. I contacted Andy and communication was excellent. He made sure we were on the same page regarding the size, type, and location of the valve installations before doing any work.

I explained the issue over the phone and he was able to provide an estimate and true to his word, the job came in at that price. First word that comes to mind is HONEST. Not many plumbing services can boast of honesty as their business model. Go ahead...read the reviews, do your research.

Andy Lai responded promptly to my early morning request. He gave clear and truthful answers to my questions. He arrived at my doorstep within the hour as promised. Cleared my main line backup the traditional way (because that was all that was needed. Contary to what another rooter guardian scam company told me during my emergency at 3x's the amount). Job done in 15 minutes. The other company told me it would take hours but even that wouldn't resolve the problem (they were going to up the price due to unforseen piping problems....do your research people!!).

I liked that Andy had his apprentice middle school son working beside him during the summer. Always tip the apprentice!

Peter's son, Andy responded to our request immediately and provided excellent and professional service. We had 2 sinks that had crappy pipes from a recent remodel before we purchased the home and Andy replaced them for us with high quality commercial grade stuff. Great service, very courteous, professional, reasonable rates, and really cares about the customer.

I had Andy come to fix a dual flush toilet that was constantly running in my house. There were 2 problems with the toilet. He fixed what he could the first time around and instructed me on what to buy and what to do after he made a trip to Home Depot and couldn't find the part I needed. He came back a second time a week later after I finally tracked down the part and was having trouble installing it on my own. Didn't charge me for the second trip. Peter Lai Plumbing is now my go-to plumber!

I have already utilized Peter Lai Plumbing three times so that already says a lot; and I have been happy with all three services. Andy is knowledgeable, responsive, and professional and will answer your questions over the phone and do the diagnosis in person. Upon arrival, Andy wears a mask, gloves and shoe covers to ensure safety measures during COVID.

The first time he replaced my kitchen sink faucet which was 14+ years; the faucet was corroded due to hard water built up over the years. Andy also helped me replace my toilet flush valve and flappers which was making leaking noises.

The second time, he replaced and installed a new toilet that was leaking water from the rim and from the back of the tank. He gave me two options; one is to reset the toilet or two, replace a new one since both options would require removing the entire toilet so I decided to go with the latter.

The third time was when I had termite damages and the termite specialist suspected that there was a leak where the damaged area was since there is a bathroom sink right behind that wall so I had Andy open up the dry wall and it turns out, there was a leak. Andy cut the old pipe and repaired it with a new Propress one.

I will be calling Peter Lai Pluming (Andy) in the future if I ever have issues with plumbing.

Rarely do I come across a business where they did so much legwork to help out a non-potential customer. I had a big issue with a water leak in my garage, and explained my situation to Andy, who is a sewer specialist. He informed me that the company would not likely be able to send anyone out for the next week as they were completely booked with a big restaurant project, but I wanted the problem fixed sooner. It was apparent that I wouldn't be using them. However, that didn't prevent Andy from intently listening to my problem for 10 minutes. Additionally, he performed some research on my behalf and eventually called me back, recommending a leak detection specialist that he works with. I could not be happier with his recommendation! There was a misunderstanding of communication between Andy & andi (yes i am andi too); we have a small leakage on the garage ceiling where bathtub is directly above it. Andy cut small opening and found out no pipe leaks, and suspected it may come from the tub surround which clearly seen when he observed the edges of the tub. So i need to redo the caulking this weekend.
Andy is very nice person, knowledgeable, and most of all patient in explaining. And to top it all off, he waived the charge for the service he did, which i am very appreciated.

The best professional licensed Los Angeles plumber with fast response rate, excellent rates, thorough job, and very courteous. They are tough looking hombres, but are good human beings with excellent values - they were very nice and respectful to my parents (who are elderly and extremely difficult) and also to me. They were honest and straight forward - the price they quoted me was the price I paid, despite the extra work they threw in and the fact they worked until 1030pm and did not even charge extra time. He and his partner have the expertise from doing industrial and commercial jobs that give them the ability to tackle any residential problem.

The water main burst right past the meter that left my parents stranded without water. My parents live in a house built in the 1950's. With a house that old along with shoddy additions and remodel jobs, the house had pipes that rusted to the core. Initially, Peter was trying to patch the leaking portion to save my parents money, but also temporarily provide them water since they were without it for almost 2 days. He worked diligently for about an hour but because the pipe was so badly rusted (the burst was a slit with rust having eaten the walls of the pipe), he could not save it. We came to the next solution of replacing the water lines running into the house.

Being that Peter initially made a visit after a commercial job at 5pm, I expected the longer job of installing new piping to be done the next day. He called his partner and was determined to get the job done ASAP because my elderly parents were without water. The fact that the entire system was rusted and my parents had shoddy remodel work done decades ago, the piping into the house was not straight forward and they had to break concrete to trace the lines to ensure they would be tapping into the correct line.

On the first day, they worked from 5pm until 1030pm to at least provide my parents with a temporary source of water. They were determined to do so before they would end the work day. I cannot summarize the difficulty they had, because many pipes split off the main water line into the backyard, side yard, dead pipes that were capped off, and to other portions of pipes that were a result of the previous construction. In the end, they were successful due to their ability to problem solve the issues stemming from bad rusted pipes and the need to reroute the water, but needed to come back the following day to finish the application and to make sure the system was working correctly and without leak.

They came back the second day to finish the job and were successful. The system was expertly done without leak nor any issues. They even replaced the toilet ballast in my parents bathroom free of charge! And to top it off, they poured new concrete into the hole they made - which no plumber will ever do without an extra charge. They are excellent people with excellent morals and an asset to the community. Thank you very much.

This service is absolutely incredible! My tankless water heater valve was leaking due to the calcium and scale eating off the copper somehow it was leaking over time. I tried to fix it my self which was a horrible Idea, i broke the valve and the water splash the garage everywhere( this is already at midnight) so i write a message to Andy on yelp regarding a quote, he respond back to me early as 5am in the morning, he went to the warehouse grab brand new parts came to my house at 6:50, took about 1 hour to complete the job! Andy is very professional and responsive. I ll recommend to all the yelpers, btw gis service and part fees are super competitive. I called water heater services they charge way more than Andy, with other companies like rescue rooter, you have schedule an appointment first, they come to your house with a time frame like 6am 12 noon, if they don't have the parts, u have to wait. To cut the bs, i called Andy and he helped a brother out.

I brought in Andy to investigate a long standing water leak and it turned out to be a very mysterious find. At first it really appeared to be the old angled feed into the sewers, but upon further looking, my upstairs secondary sink waste pipe had a major leak. I panicked and was so scared... This was a 3 part investigation and Andy was there holding my hand and explaining to be the constraints of each part... what it could be what it cannot be. This definitely was one of the most stressful fixes to my house in my entire life. So glad Andy was there. He also did not charge me extra when a second crack was found despite them recutting the new connection and redoing the entire thing all over again. Owning this kind of home is definitely one of life's challenges. when explaining how pipes can be severed, he pointed out minute details that gave me final confidence in the fix. They are also very skillful in fashioning custom fit for the pipes. I will definitely ask for Andy again next time because Andy cares about his clients and their mental wellbeing. Making this kind of repair is stressful enough... having experts like him takes the edge off for sure.

I had a leaky outdoor faucet that was bothering me for months so I finally decided to call a plumber. I decided to ask Peter Lai Plumbing for a quote and Andy responded. He came really quick and fixed my leaky faucet in about 10 minutes time. He was nice enough to squeeze me into his busy schedule. My husband wanted the faucet that screws in so he can fix it himself next time and save money. I showed Andy the picture and he understood what my husband wanted. He was very professional and explained to me what he was doing along the way. I asked him many questions since I know nothing about faucets or plumbing and he was patient enough to answer all my questions. His price was lower than what other plumbers quoted so I'm very happy with the price and service! Thanks a lot. I'll call again when plumbing issues arise.

Our usual plumber is out of commission currently due to Covid-19. That led us to call Andy Lai for the first time yesterday. He quickly came to look at the water leak we had underneath the kitchen sink and to make a diagnosis. The following day (today), after we had purchased a new kitchen faucet from Home Depot, Andy installed it and did a great job. We love our new faucet and we love even more that there are no leaks! The unit we had purchased did not come with some parts needed to connect the hoses but fortunately he had them in his truck so saving us another trip to Home Depot earned him major brownie points. Andy is super nice and very professional, we will not hesitate to call him again.

Plumbers are dime a dozen but good plumbers are hard to come by. I had a pool overflow drain that was slow draining so I called Peter Lai Plumbing and Andy came out the next day. He was prompt, polite and just a nice guy. He got the roots removed efficiently. Andy specializes in clearing yard drains and sewer drains so he's on my list of trades from now on. I sent my project out for quotes in Yelp and Andy of Peter Lai Plumbing was one of the first responders. He was the only one who had a response that gave me a price range for the repair work I needed. It was a straight problem of 1 clogged bathroom sink and I really like the direct and simple process with Andy compared to the other responses I got. After doing a bit of research, verified his license and his yelp reviews, I decided to go with him. We agreed to meet next day, he showed up on time, prepared and very courteous mannered. He was considerate in putting shoe covers when going inside the house, which I really appreciated. Most importantly, his work was excellent! He unclogged the drain in minutes and made us understand how far everything was! In our case, it went over 25ft. He said he went beyond that to make sure. He warrantied his work for 30 days. I contacted Peter Lai Plumbing because my washing machine was leaking and two sinks were clogged. Andy was quick to respond after contacting him and he came out soon after. Andy came out on time within the day and during rain to help unclog the main sewer line that had been backed up. I highly recommend him as he's honest and knows what he's doing. He unclogged the whole main sewer line that had roots intrusions. There was 3 problem areas and he make sure to take care of it. I'm highly satisfy with his work and with definitely recommend him if you have any plumbing problems.

I had a water heater start leaking (non-emergency), and Andy was able to come out that Saturday to replace the unit even though it was in a neighborhood they usually don't service. He actually showed up on time (which I've had my fair share of plumbers completely miss appointments)! After contacting Peter Lai Plumbing, I almost instantly received a response back from Andy. Thought they were closed during the weekend but he said he can be at our place in an hour.

Andy fixed a broken pipe under the sink very quickly and also cleaned up the area very nicely.

I then proceeded to tell him about a clogged kitchen sink and he worked on that even though I hadn't informed him about it previously. Turned out to be a much longer job than expected, but he still honored his standard drain unclogging price and made sure everything was working properly.

Their pricing is very competitive, but one thing I appreciated from Andy is his customer service and good workmanship.

Had water leak in front of yard and decided to find someone close by. Called Andy the plumber and he was very helpful, found the problem and immediately got to work, even called his partner to come help him finish the job quicker. Then over night had some issues with debris coming up the toilet and sink, he came first thing in the morning to help me resolve those issues fast. Very reliable and knows what he's doing. I started my plumber search after accidentally flushed a metal wired sponge down the toilet. I knew instantly it was gonna cost me.

Got on yelp and contacted them via the estimate option. Got a ridiculous high 180-260 quote. I couldn't believe it.

Started looking again and found someone else in the area for a lot cheaper. Half! I said it. Half. They came right away and took care of the problem

Please do more research. Pricing like this is ridiculous.

This plumbing company is so easy to work with. I manage couple units and always has sewer problems. Andy from Peter Lai plumbing came out cleared a clogged mainline. We also ask to had it inspected with his camera and found multiple section with roots. He did exactly what he explained to me. Cut all roots out and set me up on a preventative maintenance plan

I found this business on Yelp and I'm so glad I did! I reached out needing to replace my water heater and he responded almost instantly. He gave me a quote online and broke down the expenses for me. I was so appreciative since I know nothing about water heaters. He came out and checked my water heater and let me know the pilot was off and that's why it wasn't working. I felt so dumb for making him come out for something so small and that I could have done myself but I really didn't know. He was so nice and understanding and let me know what type of water heater to look for when I was ready to replace mine. He came out to my home and was still so nice and helpful even though we didn't end up completing the service due to my error. I had them replace a toilet. They were the cheapest quote. No by the hour charge, just a fixed price to replace the toilet with a new one I provided. Since there was only bathroom in the house, it was important the job be completed fast. It was done in an hour. I had also asked they install a bidet attachment I had provided. It was done at no extra charge. The plumber also disposed of the old toilet. I highly recommend this outfit.

I've had a plumber I've used for years. Great guys, family owned and run. But lately they have been a little hard to get a hold of. So I asked my brothers if they had anyone they had used before. Well thankfully, one gave me a number for Peter Lai. I called right away, and Andy answered. He was super friendly and even on the phone, he knew his craft. I contacted Andy around 9:40am in the morning and he came out to the place less than 30 mins. He was very professional and he stated that he was servicing the area he would stop by. I explained what the issue was and he provided me a price quote over the phone. When he arrived, he assessed the situation and decided how to unclog the water line. He had all the equipment in place and he was ready to work on to unclog the water line. He was able to resolve the issue and provided us with the recommendation on what needs to done in the future. He is not a typical plumber you see around. I feel like I have known him for a long time. He is willing to listen to your concern and explain what kind of work he will be performing. I was very happy with his service and I would definitely recommend him to everyone. I'm so glad that I call the right person.
