I used Michael for a small bathtub faucet project a month ago. He texted back quickly and set up an appointment for the next day. What I really appreciate is he was willing to think about a solution for a very old faucet. Another 5-star rated plumbing company had told us we had to open up the wall and work to put in a brand new faucet. Michael came up with a solution that worked quite easily. He had to come back the next day to finish the job yet the bill was extremely reasonable. I highly recommend him. He was prompt, friendly and professional. He is a problem-solver. I hope to work with him whenever I need a plumber.

I've had the pleasure of having Michael as my plumber since 2010. In 2013, I moved to LA, and since then, Michael has been my go-to plumber for my rental property in Berkeley. He's easy to get a hold of via text message and he schedules appointments directly with my tenants, which saves me time! Most importantly, he charges me a fair price, even though I am not physically there to verify the scope of the work. Sometimes contractors take advantage of me being an absentee landlord by charging me an exorbitant price or exaggerating the problem; this is not the case with Michael. No, Michael is very honest and has a heart of gold. I have never felt taken advantage of and I trust him!

Michael is a plumbing expert, that's for sure. Whenever an issue arises in my bakery, whether an emergency or not, Michael is quick to respond, quick to diagnose the problem, and quick to fix it. He's knowledgeable, professional, and VERY reasonably priced. He's also downright hilarious, which is always a bonus, especially when dealing with a stressful (and gross!) situation, like a clogged mop sink drain. If you need a plumber for your home and/or business, I highly recommend you give Michael a call.

I reached out to Michael to fix a leak that was taking place at my office in the men's restroom. When I first called I reached the answering machine stating that texting could be quicker than leaving a message. So, I did. He responded in matter of twenty minutes. We were able to coordinate a time for Michael to come to my office the following day. He was on time, efficient, and easy to work with. He was in-and-out in a matter of an hour. And, now I there is not more leak!

Since my FTR, I'm really pleased and gratified that Michael Your Plumber has done so well by helping so many people. Reaching Michael can sometimes be a challenge and that's probably because such practical plumbing and problem solving talent/service (with a smile) is in high demand and much appreciated. Be assured that he always calls back, shows up on time, and sees the job through with your needs in mind.

I've now brought him in on 3 different and challenging occasions and every time the quality and completeness of his work has been spot on and at very reasonable prices. He even made a trip out to Gayle's house and fixed a number of her plumbing issues and to her complete satisfaction. I hired Michael after reading his stellar reviews on Yelp, and he met my very high expectations. I couldn't have been more pleased. He was fun to talk to, he was extremely pleasant to have in the most intimate part of my house, and he wasn't the least bit disgusted by things that I was embarrassed to show him. He was proactive and sensible, and by the time he left, he had fixed or improved two toilets, a shower, and a sink, all of which had been causing quite a bit of grief. And he charged only $120 for all that. What a find he is!

When I needed a plumber to fix a thoroughly clogged kitchen drain, I picked Michael because of his great reviews here. Now I feel compelled to write one too: he did an amazing job! The blockage turned out to be really deep in the pipes, and so viscous that even the snake wasn't clearing it. The problem was so difficult to analyze and stubborn to solve that I think most other plumbers would have given up, but Michael was persistent and finally after a two-and-a-half hour ordeal the water was flowing again. I was prepared for the worst when the time came to write the check, but he named a surprisingly merciful figure -- I actually felt guilty not giving him more, considering how much work he had done. The least I can do is add another positive review!

This Plumber is the best plumber that I met in my life!!! God bless him! It is so rare to find an honest person who is not trying to rip you off or make you do more work than needed! I texted him, he came the next day, helped me troubleshoot my own problems, fixed others and was super helpful and willing to help me save money on things that were not big problems. The biggest thing I appreciated is he didn't trash the work that prior plumbers had done which I think is extremely professional! (I know the work wasn't the best before but he didn't recommend a complete overhaul or even say one negative word!) I am so grateful to have him in Berkeley! I highly recommend him!

I am so thankful to have found Michael a few years ago through Yelp. He has been a true plumbing lifesaver through the years! Highly skilled, honest, and great, friendly company! Michael was awesome! He saved us a ton of money--his bid was less than 40% of the two competing bids we got. While he was here I asked him to take a moment to fix a gas pipe that needed to be shortened and he did it without charging us! Not only that, he knows where the good restaurants are. Only in the Bay Area can you discuss with your plumber the better places to eat. Michael is definitely Our Plumber now and forever.

Side note: I dunno what's up with the one-star reviews from the two ppl who can't seem to get a hold of Michael. First of all, he's always responsive when I text him. In fact, he's the most readily available and pleasant plumber I've ever worked with. Secondly, don't give a person a one-star review for not being available or having a full voicemail box. Give someone a one-star review for giving you salmonella poisoning or throwing diarrhea at you. That's how Yelp works. You're welcome.

Michael is currently recommending his friend and plumber, Jorge (510-703-5035), to new customers since Michael unable to take new clients right now. I just called Jorge to replace our garbage disposal. He was super friendly on the phone and then arrived 30 minutes later, just as he said he would. Instead of replacing our garbage disposal, he was able to fix it in10 minutes saving us a chunk of change. Had another bathroom issue, this time it was a leaky toilet. After my last experience dealing with my funky bathroom fixtures I didnt even bother trying this one myself.

Straight to Michael. He was awesome as usual, had everything going smoothly in minutes! He even stopped by the next week to replace a valve that looked ready to go. The price was perfectly reasonable.

Seriously this guy is great. He even had treats for our puppy to keep her from barking at him. He doesn't even have a dog, he just keeps treats for clients that do. Yelp, please add a 6 star rating so I can adjust my reviews accordingly.

Wow. Another plumber had come by, fumbled around for an hour, and told me he couldn't fix a problem with our toilet and that I needed to buy a new toilet for $400. I wanted a second opinion, and Michael fixed it and another toilet in an hr for $90.

He was knowledgeable and pleasant and even sent me a postcard that reflected our conversation!

Amazing service. I'll definitely use him again and recommend him highly.

Michael was such a breath of fresh air after having had a number of bad experiences with plumbers. He is timely, efficient and honest as the day is long. I especially enjoyed the tutorials he gave me as he made several repairs. He both wanted me to understand what he was doing and teach me to fix minor problems myself. He even made me a simple wire probe to fix future sink clogs. Michael is very intelligent and funny. I look forward to working with him in the future and will never call anyone else. His prices are fair and I pay a lot of attention to these things. I also got one of those green cards with a personal note, but mine has an antique ad for a Parisian cafe Maxime. Michael came over on short notice on a holiday weekend to fix a backed up bathroom sink that was unresponsive to my DIY efforts. It was a small job, but too big for me - the pipe in the wall needed to be snaked out. He solved the problem quickly, cleaned up carefully, and charged a very reasonable rate. Today was a good day! Michael the Plumber did a great job fixing my clogged pipe in the bathtub. It was superb service. He showed up at the time he said and was the nicest guy. He was very friendly and even took out the time to explain to me what to do in case the problem reoccured. I probably wouldn't be able to do it cause it seemed to be a little bigger than we first thought but Michael got it done. It was far better than calling the plumbing company's. He's got them beat! Good for him, bad for them. He's the go-to guy. And his fee was affordable...I didn't know what I was going to be hit with but it was great! I offered him bottled water, he nicely declined and hurried on to his next appt so he could be on time and make the next customer happy. He had such a good spirit! He made an exception and came a little further out to my area and I surely appreciated it! Thanks Michael!

We used him last year to fix a leaky toilet. He was very polite and professional, and compared to some of the plumbers I've used in the past, very reasonable. To fix the leak, he actually removed the entire toilet, which is no easy feat. He replaced both the wax seal and the mounting screws, and then reinstalled the toilet. He was very careful to clean up the entire time. Now the toilet no longer leaks, and it is rock solid. He didn't take too much time at all. I'll definitely use him again for small plumbing jobs around the house.

Michael is a great plumber.
I have hired him for several times in the last few years.
He's snaked well-clogged drains, and recently did a handful of odd small jobs (leaky faucets, flex-pipes, and bad washers). He was able to do everything quickly and affordably.

Michael is prompt, knowledgeable, and very responsive (I used to live in his neighborhood, so he'd often be there the same day!). His prices are much less than other rooter-type companies. He communicates clearly if a repair is needed, and will draw a picture of the part I should get. On more than one occasion, he's made a quick fix that will help prevent future backups, and he has not charged extra.

And yes, he sends out awesome thank you cards for the business.

Very professional, honest, hard worker. My toilet was wrecked and Michael came in and recommended a toto drake toilet and even directed me to the cheapest place to get it, free of charge. He was very punctual on the day of the installation and did a great job. He hauled the new toilet up 2 flight of stairs and the old toilet out. All this at a reasonable price, and it was even fast. The installation looks great, and he also didn't leave a mess behind. I'm very pleased with my new toilet. It's definately about 100x better than the old American Standard toilet that was installed previously. Like he said, the flushing system is designed alot better. And it'll definately save you money on the long run. Would definately use his service again and recommend it to others.

He fixed all my plumbing problems and told some great stories along the way. He's trust-worthy, fair and a great communicator.

Michael is a great guy and a excellent plumber to boot. I run a commercial operation that uses a lot of water and Michael helped us solve a drainage problem that no one else had been able to figure out. I would strongly recommend him for any plumbing projects and will be using him myself next time I need a plumber. Only word of caution is that he's only one guy so if you have water flooding your bathroom you might want to call one of those 'emergency response' kind of plumbers. Thanks Michael!

I'm in shock! Yesterday, I wrote a review for a plumber that helped me fix my own repair over the phone. I didn't think that I would be writing the same review, but here I am!

Sure, Michael didn't call me until the next day.... but when I told him it was already fixed, he said he was actually going to tell me how as well. He also gave me another tip that the first plumber hadn't =)

Of course, not all plumbing jobs are the type that are easily fixed over the phone (garbage disposal was jammed)... but I know who I'm gonna call when something goes wrong again.

Michael is a rare find. He is responsive, came over to diagnose the problem within 24 hours, and returned within a few days to fix it. He charged less than his (reasonable) estimate as it took him less time. Where do you find that these days? He also has a great sense of humor! I berated myself for taking so long to figure out what was wrong, and he said that well, if I were a plumber, he would have a word with me, but since I wasn't ... What I thought was going to be a major problem, was solved easily, quickly, and with very reasonable expense. I highly recommend him!

12 years ago we had a sewer line backup and called a big time franchise rooter service. Short story is they did a poor job and wanted us to spend many thousands more. A friend told us about Michael, and we called him for a second opinion. He fixed it completely for a hundred bucks and we've never had another problem. Since then we've had him back many times. He's installed new pipes for hose bibs and irrigation supplies. He once repaired an ancient shower valve that leaked and spent a lot of time hunting down the parts but only charged us for the time he spent doing the repair. We've recommended him to many friends who all think he's great. He's so popular he gets very busy, so sometimes he takes a few hours to respond, and he can't always come out, but he always recommends someone else to take care of us, and his recommendations are always reliable. He's a Good Guy. We always get a funny postcard from him afterwards.

Michael just inspired my first ever yelp post. We had a low-pressure issue with our shower, and I left a message for Michael earlier today. I'm very impressed with Michael! Not only did he answer my text questions on the same weekend that I sent them, but he was very prompt at the appointment time on Monday, and explained everything in detail about my leaky shower spigot in my mom's home in Berkeley, fixed it in a jiffy, and informed me where to get the exact duplicate part for the other shower handle which wasn't turning the water on properly. And his rates are incredibly reasonable! He's got a very friendly and honest demeanor and great sense of humor. Definitely my go to plumber from now on!

Another super-satisfied customer for Michael-Your-Plumber -- make that MY Plumber! I was astounded by the number of effusive reviews and was skeptical, considering myself 'a tough NY audience'. (It's in the DNA: can't help it.) Michael came on Sunday, and then insisted on making the critically necessary repair (after an extra trip for tools) because he'd feel bad if the under-sink pipe failed and flooded the carpeted hall. (Get that? HE'd feel bad!) Seeing the disintegrating, rusted-out, ready to fail connecting pipe, I was so happy that he did it there and then.
I can't say enough good things about this guy. The advice was good, the price very fair, the humor engaging. What more could you want? Call Michael. Now. What are you waiting for?

Mike is the Dr. House of Plumbing! He is awesome! I thought I had a leak at the base of my toilet. Three other plumbers had looked at it. One did find a structural problem that he fixed but leak returned! Others charged for visit but problem continued. Maddening! I called Mike and he came by to take a look. He pointed out our bathtub was 9 inches from the toilet, the plastic curtain was not sealing properly when we showered, water droplets spilled onto floor and eventually worked their way to toilet base. His proposed solution: Buy a $10 splash guard to lock curtain vs tile to see if problem eliminated. He even went under the house and taped a paper towel around the toilet drain to check if it got wet. Five days later, not a drop anywhere!! His fee? Nada! He said if there is nothing to fix, he doesn't charge. Who said the old fashion neighborhood plumber is a thing of the past? Thank you so much Mike!

This guy is great! He really knows a lot. I had discussed repiping the house with another plumber, but Michael did a backflush which solved our problem for pennies. He's been here several times and it's always a pleasure. On other visits he's found simple and inexpensive solutions to tricky problems.

He doesn't always take on new customers, but give him a try and hope to get on his list. Michael is a real rarety, get to know him.

MYP just installed a new garbage disposal and reworked some associated worn out connecting pipes. Fantastic job. However the real added bonus is that Michael is a truly affable and cool person. It is always best to deal with an independent plumber/owner who cares about his work and reputation. I found MYP on Yelp and based on what turned out to be totally accurate 5 star reviews I used his services. My only complaint would be why can't I give him six stars. Thanks Michael. And the follow up thank you card was a nice touch, too. Oh, one last thing. MYP likes texts.

Michael is an excellent plumber and is also a very warm and kind person. After each visit he sends me a postcard personally thanking me for using his services. Unlike many other plumbers, Michael always charges very reasonable prices, sometimes even working for free if it's a simple problem that he can fix in a few minutes. He has done a wide variety of plumbing work for me for at least 7 or 8 years now and I am always very happy with his work. He is trustworthy and has never tried to up-sell extra jobs, which is something I fear when hiring anyone for home repairs or services. A thank you note from a plumber. - A few weeks ago we were in dire need of help, when our regular guy said he would come, but ended up flaking both in showing up, and in letting us know that he wasn't comingg, causing us to wait around all day for nothing. -- Enter Michael Your Plumber to the rescue! --

We found Michael here on yelp, called him and left a voicemail. He called back the same day, and was able to squeeze us into his schedule. - He arrived *on time*, was very friendly, courteous, and professional. He walked me through the steps that I needed to learn so that I could fix the issue myself if it ever happened again. -- He charged a fair competitive rate for a service call, and all was taken care of. -- Zero drama, totally smart, efficient, and above all a *very* nice guy.

The images that you see are the front and back of a follow-up/thank you note that he sent. - Having worked in the business of training professional sales staff many years ago, I know well the art of keeping clients/customers. And I used to tell all of my employees to follow up with their clients by method of snail mail. I haven't seen an act like this for about a decade or so. The fact that Michael is 'old school' when it comes to courtesy and customer service has not gone unnoticed. - That he used a note card with Fellini's Amarcord on the front shows that he has impeccable taste.

Needless to say, our former plumber has been relived of his duties, and from here on out, we'll be using Michael for all of our plumbing needs.

Before moving into my condo a few months back, I never had to worry about any repairs. I had a fabulous building manager at my last apartment, and she would fix things within hours of making a phone call.

When I discovered that my garbage disposer wasn't working, I went to Home Depot and proudly installed one myself.

Incorrectly :(

In addition, the sinks in both bathrooms weren't draining so well, and one of the toilets sounded weird.

It was time to call a plumber.

Michael fixed all my problems AND showed me how to take care of a few things myself. He explained everything he was doing step by step. Even though most of the things he showed me were probably common sense to most people, he was so kind and not a bit condescending. His rates are more than reasonable, and he's a super friendly guy.

Mike is so amazing. I learned SO much when he came to unclog my sink that I almost wish my sink would clog again so I could try to fix it myself! We called Tuesday, he called us back that night and told us he could come Thursday. Normally, I wouldn't want to be without a kitchen sink for that long, but Mike is my neighbor and I love supporting independent workers. I am SO glad we put up with the inconvenience of not having a sink for a couple days. I had a drain issue. Mike fixed it. I was happy.

I had a drain issue in my bathtub and was pretty desperate to get it remedied. Michael called me the day after I called him and I'm glad I waited, because I had another service come the day I had made my run of calls based on listings reviewed on Yelp.

Let me first say, Michael the Plumber is worth the wait. He's local and has only himself as staff to solve patient customers' problems. My first plumbing serviceman came the day before, all the way up from Fremont or Sunnyvale, I think. He was a courteous gentleman, willing to put on slip on socks because of the carpet, and gave me the low-down on what the problem might be and how he could fix it. Two suggestions were made, both of which added up to either $275 to $350 including some citrus coating that at the time seemed pretty unnecessary; It's the drain of the house, with excrement going down it. No need to glorify that smell with some lemony goodness. I told the plumber I will take the quote and call if I find he was the fairest price.

The day after, Michael called. Michael told me his availability, and it worked within my schedule. He came promptly, in fact I was late and he came early, so we made new plans, closer to when I could make it now that I was running late and he adjusted. I showed up to my place, Michael showed up minutes later, he knocked on the door and greeted me with a fist bump and a smile. He took his shoes off at the door, came into the bathroom and made a quick assessment of the issue and said, ...should be an easy fix.

Michael was very eager to show me how he does things, and suggested to me some tips in how I can solve basic plumbing issues on my own without the need for a plumber. I was eager to take in all that he was sharing and made sure he knew I was very appreciative. As we made our way around the property Michael pointed out things I should be aware of like where drain pipes are and proper water flow through them. I felt like I could handle a lot more with what he told me by myself.

If you are in need of a plumber, please don't hesitate to call Michael. He's very knowledgeable and willing to be flexible with your time and his own.

Price: totally reasonable and better than everyone else.

I feel very fortunate to have found Michael. He is an exceptional professional in every way: knowledgeable, a pleasure to work with, prompt, provides ample information and answers all questions clearly, while providing excellent service at a very reasonable price. Michael was wonderful. He wasn't able to do our large plumbing job but referred us to another plumber that is just as great. The project is in process but when it's done, I'll be sure to review him as well. What topped the cake for me was after Michael looked at our problem he mentioned that for smaller projects he would absolutely be available.

I told him that our tub was backing up. He pulled out a bunch of junk on the spot and didn't charge me for it!

Would highly recommend him for smaller jobs.

Michael Your Plumber worked in conjunction with The Plumbing Ministry on a project in our home. In the process of clearing a clog they unknowingly created another clog elsewhere in the system. Because their camera was going back and forth between Michael and them, between jobs, they failed to use it at the end of the job to ensure that they did not create a problem elsewhere in the system. They flushed the toilet, but did not use the camera to make sure that the lines were all clear. As a result a clog developed elsewhere in the system and we had a sewage overflow from the toilet and shower downstairs that caused extensive damage to our home.

Just putting this out there to warn the other yelpers. When I first hired Michael Stabile (Michael Your Plumber) I was in a hurry and missed the crucial step of asking if he was licensed. I wasn't looking for the cheapest plumber, I was looking for the best. Since his listing is 5 stars with lots of reviews on yelp I didn't think to do further checking. And because he was so highly rated, I thought he would also bring in good subcontractors, and didn't check on The Plumbing Ministry. A lot of people like Michael because he is nice, easy to work with, and cheap. The Plumbing Ministry is cheap. But as you can see, one mistake can be very expensive.

Michael did apologise and pay $100 toward our damages but I was left to fight the Plumbing Ministry until their bonding company paid me most of what I asked for.

Michael Your Plumber is the only plumber you should use.

One side of my kitchen sink had a leaky pipe underneath and my landlord asked me to get 3 estimates. The other plumbing companies I called quoted me $125 and $220.

Michael said it would be only $60!! AND, he ended up changing the pieces on both sides of the double sink to prevent future leaks. He didn't charge extra. In fact, he made it very clear that people who charge extra are a pet peeve of his.

He was on time, friendly, talkative, knew what he was doing, and even gave my dog a treat. A week later, I got a hand-written postcard in the mail from him, thanking me for using his service! Wow!

The service he provided was excellent, and even more important, I would recommend him for the more than 50% difference in his price compared to other plumbers.

Just want to add my good review to this site. Michael was very prompt in getting back to me via text. I texted my issues in some detail and he responded with pictures that corresponded to my perceived issues. Stopped by the next day, ended up suggesting I do nothing (it turned out to be a minor issue) and didn't charge me even though he spent 20 minutes of his Friday afternoon giving me advice. My husband and I have had Michael come to our house for several different plumbing issues, including leaky faucets, clogged drains, broken toilet, and replacement of faucets. (oh, the joys of homeownership!) He is always prompt, professional, trustworthy, and very friendly. I simply can't recommend him more highly. The greatest part about his business style is that he will teach you how to fix the problem, if it is simple. What other repair person will give you the tricks of the trade? I also really love the fact that he always remembers us and sends us a personal postcard afterward thanking us for the business. Truly has been an outstanding experience each time he comes to help us out. No one wants to call a plumber, but if you have to, Michael is your man!

Despite my earlier experience I suggested that my Sister-in-law contact Michael to fix a leaky pipe and a clogged drain in her kitchen sink. His recent Yelp reviews suggested that he is indeed still working.

Despite two phone call and a text message Michael never got back to her. This is almost an exact repeat of my experience with him in late 2017. Fortunately she contacted another plumber as well. The second plumber was able to take care of both problems within 24 hours.

I suspect that Michael may be a victim of his own success. Too many requests for service to handle. If you are lucky enough to get him he may provide great on-site service. Just don't be disappointed if he fails to respond.

Even though I would like to give him more that one star, I can't do it when he is unable or unwilling to respond to a request for service.

I contacted Michael after experiencing a first visit AND an exorbitant estimate for further work from Albert Nahman Plumbing. Shocked by Nahman's cost and inability to fix a washing machine drainage issue, I texted Michael as a second opinion. He was chez moi within 48 hours (as it wasn't an emergency). He then listened to me, identified the issue, and quickly drew out his thinking with pen and paper allowing me to be part of his process. Within minutes he found the true root of the problem while teaching me what he was doing. Albert Nahman charged $1359 to potentially fix the clog vs. Michael's $120 which ACTUALLY FIXED the clog. Problem solved and he's a lovely person as well.

Michael is so kind, helpful, and respectful and he seems to really enjoy his work. I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat. He has been to my house twice for issues I was having with my washing machine leaking on the floor and a toilet that runs for a long time after it is flushed. We are going to be remodeling in a few months and did not want to spend a lot of money on fixing these issues now. He was very knowledgeable and SUPER conscious about saving us money. He just told me how to fix both issues myself and he didn't charge me for either visit! He seriously wouldn't let me pay him for his time or advice saying, I didn't really do anything. That was his good-hearted choice since I didn't know how to fix the problems myself and was thus prepared to pay a professional to do it. That is usually the way the world works, at best. If you're unlucky people take advantage of you and are creepy. Michael is so far from that discouraging standard. My boyfriend and I met Michael last week when, on basically no notice at all, he came out and fixed our leaky tub at a price that was HALF of what another plumber was going to charge. Not only did he take care of the leak, but he talked us through what he was doing step-by-step, so that next time, we can do it on our own.

On his way out, we showed him another plumbing problem that had come up in the kitchen that we are remodeling (sans contractor -- putting the Y in DIY). Basically, the hot water pipe under the sink was sticking out too far to accommodate a garbage disposal. Not only did Michael fix it on the spot, but he did it in 10 minutes with no mess and didn't charge us much for the additional work.

The trouble with plumbers is that when you need a plumber, you really NEED a plumber. It's hard to know whether or not they are being honest in terms of the labor and cost of materials and, usually, we're in a desperate situation and can't afford the time to shop around. Michael is a great plumber, but more important to us is that he is 100% trustworthy. In fact, he told us that he left his previous employer (I won't mention names, but the company has less than favorable yelp reviews) because they encouraged him to mislead customers and over-charge.

Michael Your Plumber is our new plumber! Our only regret is that we can't give him more than 5 stars!

Another great positive review! My water heater broke at the worse possible time, a late Friday afternoon and we couldn't live without warm waters for showers. Michael was the only plumber who answered his phone. He came out that Friday evening and didn't have the part, so he showed up the next Sat morning bright and early and fixed it quickly (less then 30 min.) even though he says it took awhile. Couldn't ask for better service. All for a reasonable price as well.

My garbage disposal apparently died, and my sink clogged as a result. I called another plumbing service and they weren't available for a full week. I found Michael on Yelp and texted him using the number listed on his Yelp page and he texted back within a few hours - at night, while he was traveling on the other side of the country (!!!) - and he coached me through tripping the breaker on the disposal and unjamming it using a simple Allen wrench. Complete with photos and all. It was fixed in five minutes flat!

Michael saved me a week of misery being without a kitchen sink, and he did it out of the goodness of his heart, by text. I offered to pay him for his advice and he said You're CRAZY if you think I expect any payment....

Smart, friendly, capable, good guy, and I've never even had the opportunity to meet him, given that he was able to fix my plumbing issue remotely. Thanks, Michael!

Michael Your Plumber rules. Of course, the new toilet rules too (1.28 gpf and it totally works. No double flushing, no clogging). He gave me a discount b/c we had to install 2.

I called him recently for some advice on how to remove a rusted-on washer hose. He happens to live in my 'hood, and just dropped by, lent me a tool, bought and brought over a special fitting for it. How cool is that? He coulda done it for $60.

Rumor has it he was once a pastry chef. Now he, among many things, installs toilets. Talk about the alpha and the omega.

And lately, he gave us a great rec. for someone to do our tile. Most excellent.

Michael came over to fix a leaky kitchen sink pipe. He gave me a set time for his appointment, showed up promptly, and was finished in half an hour. He was very friendly and informative. He advised me of do-it-yourself items I should do relating to my garbage disposal (sign up for warranty, and how to unclog) and the hole through which the pipe comes out of the wall (to keep mice out)...unrelated to what he was doing, but meant to save me money (and having to call a plumber) in the long run. Forgot to post this....
He told me he would take my old toilet tank and forgot.
Oh...you beautiful plumber! He came back a couple of days later and oh wow! Really? Who would do that?

He was amazing! Not only that but we saw him outside a restaurant and he was so nice....totally complimented my boyfriends attempt at fixing the problem.....and this was a couple of weeks later.

This guy is what everyone should strive for....whether you need a plumber or want to be one yourself. DAMN! :D

I contacted Michael via text for a non-emergency plumbing matter. He got back to me the same day (in the evening) and we set an appointment date for two days later.

On our appointment date, he arrived on time, was able to quickly diagnose the problem and resolved the issue.

I won't hesitate to call Michael the next time I need some plumbing help.

I had two good experiences today with plumbers. Michael called after what must have been a very long day to walk me through my garbage disposal issue. It turned out I'd already gotten it fixed, but he was super kind and explained that there is a trick to getting it working again.

I really enjoyed speaking with him on the phone, the reviews about him feeling like a friend are completely true.

Michael Your Plumber is now MY plumber! I was thrilled with the work Michael did, after a thorough, but quick, assessment and estimate. He worked on my ancient toilet (1920s vintage) for half the price and 36 times the warranty period compared to an estimate from a large plumbing company. Michael understood that I wanted to keep my legacy toilet, and he knew exactly how to work on it, as well. Michael is my kind of plumber!

Michael is the BEST! I had a problem with very slow drains and some backup. I called Michael last Friday afternoon and he called back ASAP to schedule me. When he came out yesterday, he took the time to pull up THREE manhole covers in an attempt to find the outflow pipe, then walked around my house. Turns out that when they built the housing tract back in '69, they did NOT include outflow pipes, simply capped them off, which makes simply snaking impossible.

Michael called an associate, Louis, on the spot to confer about the problem. He told me Louis could handle it and even left a piece of equipment for him to use. Michael's fee? NADA, ZIP, ZERO, ZILCH - and he spent an hour here to explain what I needed done.

Louis' guy showed up, crawled under the house, and was able to pinpoint the problem. I'm getting it fixed today!

Thank you, Michael! Again, you are the best and I'll call you if I ever have any more plumbing issues!

Michael is THE BEST. He is sweet, kind, courteous and honest. I lost a cherished earring down my shower drain, which unfortunately is in a very hard to reach and unpleasant location under my house. Michael responded the same day and not only found my earring, but replaced the drain to be more accessible in the future, the next time I stupidly lose something down the drain. Thank you Michael!!!

Michael is truly the BEST! Just a REALLY nice guy, helpful to people like me (who know absolutely nothing about plumbing :) and super knowledgeable.

The first time I called him in a panic, new to the area, and he raced on over to fix the water that was spewing from my broker sprinkler system. Problem solved in about 1 minute. The second time our toilet was clogged with baby wipes and paper towels, and he came same-day, used his tool and had the clog out in 5 minutes. He even CLEANED the bowl with my toilet brush afterwards! WAY above and beyond his call of duty. I'd recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat.

Michael is absolutely AMAZING. I'd never left a yelp review before but I decided to leave one for Michael because he really is incredible. There was this metal clanking sound everytime I turned on my garbage disposal and I called Mr.Rooter's for a free estimate and to take a look at whatever was wrong with it. They told me that I had to get a new disposal and that they would do it for $500. I started looking into other cheaper options, being a college student who was liable for damages to appliances in the apartment. I found Michael off Yelp, scheduled for him to come in, he turned on the disposal and came to the conclusion that there was something stuck inside. It took him like 5 seconds to get the screw out- Michael saved me literally HUNDREDS of dollars, I remember worrying about budgeting and skipping meals in order to pay off the new garbage disposal but Michael fixed the problem in a few minutes and I didn't have to worry anymore about hundreds of dollars of expenses! I'm so thankful to have met such an honest and kind person like Michael- he is definitely going to be my go-to plumber from now on!

A big thanks to all the folks who have recommended Micheal Your Plumber here on Yelp and on NextDoor. We had a couple of small-ish plumbing jobs, including re-seating a leaking toilet and resolving a shower that was cycling hot-cold. Micheal addressed everything for the price he quoted for the toilet, and replaced a hose and some nuts/bolts/washers with better quality ones in the process. He showed me hot to fix the shower issue (clogged filter, as it turned out) should it recur, and explained why the toilet seal had failed for the second time. Nice guy, great work, good educator, highly personable. He's very responsive to texts so that's the best way to get in touch. (I suspect those complaining he didn't respond left a phone vs. text message.) Highly recommended and he will certainly be the first person we call next time we have a plumbing need.

Kind, honest, and gets the job done, even on short notice. We had an extremely stubborn toilet with a forward facing drain (makes it really difficult to get the auger through). Texted at 4 PM, he responded by 5:30, showed up at 5:45, and fixed our problem by 6. Gave us great advice on what to do if it happens again. Will definitely call him again for our plumbing issues!

Michael Your Plumber is one of the great finds I've found on Yelp. Don't be suspicious of all the five star reviews: they're genuine, like Michael.... He first answered my message while out of town, and then came over almost immediately upon returning--on a Sunday! He mentioned that he wanted to check out the situation--our mangled shower fixture. After sussing it out, we agreed upon a time which I missed, not hearing the doorbell as I was in the back of the house. When he responded to my What happened? message he was pleasant and not the least bit miffed that he had come over unsuccessfully. He was successful our next date, fixed the mangled shower, and set another time to take a look at our kitchen sink's no hot water issue. Throughout this process, the thing I most appreciated was his honest assessment of the problem, and a strategy to fix it that included various methods if the first prognosis wasn't accurate. His rates are incredibly reasonable. Almost unbelievable.

He was here again recently and resolved the kitchen plumbing. We now have hot water again, and man, we are eternally grateful for his prompt scheduling, efficient and super pro skills. The personable and amiable demeanor and great sense of humor are the extra bonus. You will not be disappointed.....

I have used Michael Your Plumber for years. He's always incredibly informative, he does an excellent job, he's detail oriented. He lets you k now exactly what he is doing if you are interested. He sends awesome thank you postcards. He's the best plumber ever. At the end of each job we always end up arguing over the price because i want to give him more than he wants to take. Call Michael if you ever have any plumbing difficulty.

I agree with everyone who has given Michael five stars. He did an amazing job fixing a leaky pipe in our walls a couple years ago. Since then, he has given us really helpful, honest advice about cleaning our sewer-lateral line (we asked him to do some work on it and he told us we didn't really need the work yet, so we saved some bucks). I echo Jessie B--so good to have someone so ethical, conscientious, and delightful in my house. Can't recommend Michael highly enough!

Michael just came over on a Saturday morning and fixed my kitchen faucet. He replied to my text in a few hours and we quickly found a time for him to come over. Michael is great - he's very down to earth and has a great sense of humor. He was very professional and fixed the faucet to work like new. I just found my go-to plumber for stuff around the house! I called Michael on Wednesday, January 16th and left a detailed message, including two different telephone numbers each of which I stated twice (as per his request in his voice mail message). His message also states that as he works alone, it may take a day or two for him to get back to you. Well, that was 6 days ago - I've still heard nothing.

MIchael has installed two TOTO toilets and reinstalled an existing sink with a new fixture. As older plumbing goes, however, there was some extra work he had to do which required him to open up the wall and secure the water lines among other things. Still came under budget quoted from other contractors. His work is always impeccable and he is dependable, efficient, neat and has extremely reasonable rates. I even received a thank you note from him. Who does that anymore? Great guy to work with.

Just adding to the deluge of other 5-star reviews. Michael is awesome. He will tell you what needs to be done, and what doesn't, and he will teach you how to do his job if you ask him. That is a sign of a guy who has plenty of work, because everyone knows he is awesome. And, it feels like you're robbing him, because his fees are so completely reasonable, even though you are panicking because sludge is bubbling up into your kitchen sink.

Does he even need another review? Well, why not.

My ancient sink drain pipe decided to quit on a weekday evening. Sink flooded, general sadness and yuckiness. I started calling plumbers at 5 pm, four plumbers total. Michael was the first to get back to me, at 8:30 pm, and came the next day at noon. He cleaned out the drain pipe, which harbored a new life form, and modified the pipe so its crazy angle will not lead to more drain tragedies in the future. The price was very reasonable, and the work was great. Somehow, during this plumbing crisis, we managed to have an entertaining chat about a whole bunch of stuff. I am a happy person with a fabulous drain.

Lovely experience getting a leaky water heater fixed this morning! I texted Michael and got a very prompt response back and in less than an hour he came and fixed the problem. Very professional, courteous and gracious. Lives locally and is available on short notice. Reasonably priced. Can't recommend him enough!

I found Michael on Yelp and called him based on his amazing yelp reviews. He really is as great as the reviews make him sound. After turning our garbage disposal on with a shot glass in it, we thought all was pretty much lost. I left a message for Michael, explaining the problem and asking when he could come out. He called me back that same day and left a message with explicit directions on how to fix the disposal ourselves (as well as directions on how not to get tricked into buying expensive tools at the hardware store). We followed his directions, and the disposal works perfectly. When we really break something, I can't imagine calling anyone but him.

I have to echo the sentiments of other reviewers here. Michael is terrific. If they'd let me he would get 6 stars.

I wanted my drains snaked because they had been acting up recently, but after getting a quote of $200/hr from the big box companies (with no estimate of how long it would take) I decided to look around for other options. When I called I told him I knew nothing about 1925 plumbing and said that in addition to the work I'd like him to answer a few questions for me. He penciled me in for 90 minutes and asked I needed more time to talk about my plumbing (the work would take less than half that).

Due to my miscommunication, he brought the sewer snake instead of the drain snake. He made another appointment for the next day but still spent an hour walking me through every detail of my home's plumbing, from the back all the way out to the city's lines. He came the next day, did the work, all for the original quote.

Seriously, there may be people out there as good but I can't imagine you'd find anyone better. HONEST, friendly, great prices. You need plumbing, call him with confidence.

Michael is amazing - hands down. He has installed new sinks and toilets, and fixed problems with the old ones before we had them replaced. Incredibly courteous and very fair pricing. If we could find a Michael-equivalent for every other house need, life would be much easier...

Michael is great.

About a year ago he installed a toilet for us. He actually showed us that we didn't even need the new toilet, as a different plumber said we did. He showed us there was buildup (cleanable) causing the problems, not a broken toilet. We had him install the new toilet anyway, but I sure wished we had talked to him first.

This week, he replaced a broken, leaky pipe under kitchen sink. The job ended up being a hassle as the old pipe threads broke and had to be cut away from inside the connector pipe. But he got it done and thank goodness.

He is a decent guy. Very fair prices. Absolutely knows what he's doing. While we hope we don't have to call him again anytime soon, he will always be the first one we call if needed.

Coukd not get a response from Michael despite being very close by and making a few attempts with my pleas for help over a long period of time. Not even a text back? It seems like he is too busy to the degree that it verges on rudeness. Ghosting a potential customer? Swipe left.
Can't recommend if he won't respond to work requests.

Don't even think about calling another plumber. All the great things people are saying about Michael on Yelp are right on. There is a reason that he is so busy with other customers that he may not be able to call you back immediately. He's highly informative and helpful (will tell you how to do it yourself if that is possible), responsive, efficient, and skilled. If I need a plumber again, I will call Michael.

Michael is AWESOME. Arrived 15 minutes early. My problem was quite minor (tighten the coupling) that he was able to fix in 5 minutes. He also reversed a bathroom faucet handle. Since both jobs were so minor, he didn't charge me. He also gave some good advice about taking a digital photo of your faucet and sending it to the manufacturer to get the model number and necessary parts in case you have a leaky faucet and the hot or cold cartridges need to be replaced. It will save Michael a trip and ordering time if you have this info/parts already. Highly recommended.
