HPS Mechanical Inc. was founded as Harry's Plumbing Service in 1959 by Harry DenHerder. With one truck that he used for service calls he built up the business with a solid reputation for doing the best work in town work at a reasonable price. HPS continued to grow, focusing mainly on service and remodel plumbing until it was purchased in 1976 by Harry's son, Les DenHerder. Since then HPS has expanded into new construction, pipeline, engineering and plumbing design services in Southern California and Nevada. Called HPS on a Saturday for an emergency call out due to an outdoor pipe breaking. HPS sent out a technician in less than a hour. Albert Sanchez was the technician and was extremely knowledgeable and fast. Pricing was reasonable due to it being a Saturday.
Highly recommend this local company. Will definitely use them again in the future. Thanks again Albert and HPS plumbing!
Called HPS on 12/22/2023 in the afternoon due to a leak and needed a replacement of two items. I was happily surprised they could send someone out to do an estimate within 4 hours at no charge though many other companies have a big charge to come out just to look at it. The technicians name was Rudy and he was friendly and within a very short time had the parts replaced and no more leak. It was nice to have someone that knew what he was doing and did it quickly. I would use HPS again if I need some work (nothing personal but I hope it will be a very long time, lol. I would recommend if you have plumbing issues to give them a call.
We had a dripping faucet repaired and toilet gasket replaced. Also, the hose bib on our outdoor faucet was replaced due to a near leak in the 1/2 inch copper pipe. As always, HPS was responsive, efficient and trustworthy. Frankie Rios was our technician. He is friendly, knowledgeable and does excellent work.
First and foremost. I would like to thank Frankie for the AMAZING job he did while he was working at our home. We had paid close to $10,000 for rerouting work that took less than a week to do. Everything we asked of Frankie was done without a complaint or an excuse not to do work. He is a credit to HPS and the main reason why I would do business with HPS again. HPS did work with us so we did not have to pay an arm in a leg which was greatly appreciated. So once again. Thank you Frankie for your excellent service! I hired HPS to assist with a kitchen remodel. Edgar, the technician was amazing! He came out the day before my countertops were going to be demolished. He was prompt, courteous, and professional. He was in constant communication with me about the job. The job turned out to be more difficult than anticipated. Edgar installed my new sink, faucet, garbage disposal, and dishwasher. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. We would definitely use them again!
Kenneth showed up on time, wearing a mask. He was able to size up the job, go to Dixieline for the right part and install it quickly and professionally at my home within an hour. Excellent plumber!

We had a slab leak in 2016 and had HPS reroute our plumbing through the attic. They did great work and we were very happy.
Today we had a slight problem with a valve and Frank came out from HPS and fixed it for free although the work is no longer covered under warranty.
I would recommend HPS in a heartbeat!!
On time. Did several small to medium jobs. Willing to listen, accept suggestions, we worked together to solve one of the big problems. Thank you, Johel, for being here and helping a geezer out.
Called on the weekend. Lady was very nice. But she scheduled appointment for Monday and they never called or showed up. Not professional at all. At least call me, I took the day off of work!
Edgar came to check several plumbing issues we were having after buying our house. He was courteous, patient, and interested in everything we were telling him. We appreciate his great experience and informative advice. He answered all our questions and took care of all needed repairs. We will always call HPS first for all our plumbing needs.

Johel Morales, the Service Technician, arrived exactly at the scheduled time, reviewed the situation, listened to my comments and prepared an accurate estimate along with an accurate estimate of the time needed to complete the repair. He conducted himself in an entirely professional and friendly manner. When he was finished he explained what had caused the problem and presented a solution to avoid this problem in the future.
I think the service you get depends on which plumber comes out. Our first experience with HPS was five star worthy. But the last two were more like two or three stars. Today we were quoted $913 for two small leaks. I decided to get a second estimate. Next company came out and fixed both leaks for $250! I have to say that the office staff is great!
I had a leaking kitchen faucet, what a mess, and also needed a new garbage disposal. I called early Monday morning and got an appointment between 12-4pm. Technician called 15 minutes before coming, was prompt, polite, courteous, had his mask on during covid19 pandemic and went to work as soon as he got there and worked steadily until the job was done in a timely manner. I would recommend HPS and will definitely use them again if I have a problem,
We had our drinking fountains refitted for bottle dispensers to give our employees more options for hydration and less plastic bottles. The HPS team was efficient and great to work with. Manny did a great job explaining all the options.

HPS responded within about 10 minutes after I left a voice mail about an urgent issue. One company responded the next day and one never called back at all.
They sent Kenneth out within an hour. He spent about 15 minutes diagnosing my problem and trying to correct the mistakes made by the handyman who had tried to fix the leaking hose on my pull down kitchen faucet. He said that he could not fix it properly and still guarantee his work. Even though I offered, he did not charge me for this visit.
His recommendation was to replace it with an entirely new faucet and that he had time early the next morning to install it. His estimated charge was about half the price I was quoted by another plumbing company.
We went out to Home Depot that evening, bought a new faucet, and Kenneth installed it first thing the next morning. Still working great 3 weeks later.
I highly recommend HFS and Kenneth for any plumbing issue and they will be the first one we call in the future.
First, when I booked they said between 4-6 pm. Ok, cool. 3:30 Johel called me and showed up 10 mins later. Excellent!! I explained what I was told the problem was (broken line) he says, I hope not that is a 2 guy job with a per hour rate. He walked in the bathroom, looked and a second later says, oh! Its clogged. I'll get started! Boom!! Like the pro he is he got the job got done. It was a pretty bad back up (don't use flushable wipes y'all) but superman made it go away. He was honest the whole way through. Told me what the possibilities were and the prices but luckily it was easier than we thought. I got lucky!! Johel, you are the man!!
Same day service - doesn't get much better than that! Purchased a new kitchen faucet....hubby took one look at it and knew he didn't want to tackle the install, so we contacted HPS and they were able to come out the same day! Frankie was polite, professional and fun to talk with. He did a great job. Will definitely use HPS again!
As an homeowner and Realtor I have seen it all. And it hasn't been pretty. I am taking the time for this review because this company was beyond my expectations. Kenneth came out and replace my hardware in a shower/ bath. He did an outstanding job! Price, materials, on time, polite , professional, friendly all made a huge difference! Having more work done and plan on referring this company to everyone I know. And that's coming from someone who expects topnotch work. Hire with confidence. You won't be sorry.
I tried to replace a valve to my water heater and, of course, I should have called a professional (my wife told me several times). Called HPS on a Saturday and they sent out Johel Morales. He was very professional and he fixed what I messed up in about an hour. I told him that I thought I could do it because I watched a video. I'll never do that again. Just ending my aggravation and putting in a good mood again was worth the price, which I thought was very reasonable for calling them out on a Saturday. From the time I called them, to the completion of the job, was less than three hours. Very pleased.
Woke up this morning to my bedroom carpet wet and water all over my bathroom floor. Called HPS and within an hour they had a technician out. Frankie was prompt and had the problem fixed within an hour. He was great!!! Thank y'all so much for fixing the issue!

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. When I called and made the initial appointment they provided me a time slot. I took time off of work during that time slot to allow myself to be available when they arrived. Close to the end of that timeslot nobody had called me or texted me to let me know when they would be here so I called the main office. They told me that they had pushed my timeslot to later. I informed them this was bad customer service as nobody had called to update me regarding the change in timeslot and that I had only taken off during the time slot they initially gave me. While I was trying to explain all of this to the customer service representative I was speaking to she completely continue to interrupt me would not allow me to finish saying even one sentence. And basically called me a liar saying that the initial timeslot was never given to me. I kept trying to explain to her the inconvenience that they had caused me but she would not let me finish my sentences even when I asked her specifically to let me finish talking. I would never recommend them to anyone as not only did I lose hours from work because I trusted what the initial person had told me but then I was treated with such disrespect and bad customer service when I called to discuss the issue with someone.
I had a great response time from Josh and he was thorough, very observant and knowledgeable. Josh exsplained the problem and got to it with no problems. This man, Josh, was extremely nice to come out after hours yesterday st 8:37pm to fix my toilet leak which was flooding my floor. I highly recommend Josh and I will keep his company (HPS Plumbing) phone number in my contacts.
I just had a new 40 gallon hot water heater installed by HPS, the technicians Frankie and Chris did a great job. They were done in about an hour and a half, the average time on that job is 2-3 hours according to some plumbing websites. Total cost was $1875 parts and labor, which I think is pretty reasonable, especially when having the work done by licensed professionals. Will recommend HPS in the future.
We called to request a quote for re-piping our house from HPS. When the guy showed up, he couldn't even be bothered to look at the bathrooms or the kitchen or anything else. He gave us a general quote of $10K to $12k. Really?! That's almost twice the other quotes we got. I don't know what kind of work they do but he was unfriendly and unprofessional. I guess they're too busy.
I was having plumbing problems in two bathrooms. They were able to come out and fix the issue same-day. Friendly and fast service.
Requested an estimate for a major project of replacement of main sewer lines from house to street. Tech came out, said he didn't have the equipment to check situation and estimate work . Said he would return the next day with the equipment and give estimate. Waited 2 days for his return but he never came back and never called. So I went with another plumbing company who did the work. Exercise caution if you call them. You may or may not get the work done.
I called for a quick quote! The price was more than I hoped due to the issue. They advised me of options, no pressure tactic! I appreciate the honesty!!

The technician, Albert Sanchez, did a great job! He was on time, professional, thorough, efficient, polite and friendly. Our water heater failed yesterday (Sunday) and HPS replaced it this morning.
I requested a quote on Yelp for toilet installation. I was quoted a price and asked if I could use the Yelp discount. The business manager responded and said yes I could use the new customer discount. I scheduled a time for them to come. The appointment window was 10-2 today. At 1:45 pm, I haven't received a call or message. I call and they say they have been busy. It should be 30-45 minutes. So after an hour with no call, I call again. They said they will be calling me. They call and then show up a little while later. Now, they quoted me a higher price. I ask why it is more than the original quoted price and they say that is the price. So I show them the messages from the business manager and they say when did you talk to him? I said Wednesday and they say he was fired yesterday. Ok, that just sounds shady so I said forget it and we will schedule something another time. I wasted my whole day for this inconsiderate, shady company. It sounds like bs just so you wouldn't have to honor the original price and discount.
