We had a few different plumbing repairs to be completed and called Gary Field for an appointment. He was very prompt to return my call and an appointment was made. Although he was running behind from another job, he called and gave me a an estimate of when he might be arriving and followed up with a text. we have used Gary previously and I recommend him highly.

We are so glad we were referred to Gary by our next door neighbor. We had old leaky pipes under the house and we were really anxious about the extent of the damage and how much it would cost to repair it. One plumber came out, barely peered into the crawl space and told us it was sewage and we'd need to hire a restoration company to clean it out before they would be able to tell us anything. Thank goodness we got a second opinion!

Gary actually went into the crawl space, discovered it was NOT a sewage leak at all and gave a very reasonable quote to completely replace the old pipes. He worked tirelessly under our house for hours and had the whole problem solved within a day.

We cannot speak highly enough of Gary and will be using his services for any and all of our plumbing needs!

I had a toilet problem, called Gary at Field Family Plumbing and asked if he could fix it. He asked good questions, quoted me a fair price (parts and labor) and came out the next day and fixed it. Great service I have used this guy's several times in the last year and I was not disappointed.

First used them to unclog my bathtub and they did a great job the last guy that came out was complaining how hard the work was and how it smelled. It made me feel very horrible.

Then he also installed a water softener for me to my exact request. Due to the fact that I didn't want it hooked to our main water line and it works perfect.

Last but not least I have a 2 year old and being that crazy kid he is he threw something down the toilet and they came out took care it in a jiffy!

If you need great reliable service this company is for you!

Any else avoid calling a plumber? Every time I do, it costs me a mint. So, I am always trying to fix things myself first.

Called on Saturday morning because my washing machine was overflowing from the pipe. I had a pile of laundry from my college student who was visiting! Gary came within the half hour and fixed it!

Very reasonable, wish I would have called a month ago when problems started!

I found this plumber on a Carmichael Nextdoor site. My out of state son needed a plumber for a water heater leak in East Sacramento. I called, left a message on Father's Day and Gary called me back within two hours. He was able to do the repair the following day. He was responsive, thorough and reasonable. Unfortunately I had the same experience as Peggy V. Contacted field family plumbing based on a recommendation from nextdoor app. Communicated via text with someone (I believe it was Gary) but then he sort of just disappeared. Sent several messages to follow up over the course of several months and received no response. Very odd. Especially given the seemingly strong reviews. Anyway, we had to move on and hire someone else to fix our problem.

Moved into new home built in the 40s. Needed help with figuring out various valves and findings all be shut offs. Most places I called would not offer to come out but Gary did! Came out on time and was very helpful and very fast at figuring out all my issues. Would recommend Field Family Plumbing to anyone.

Called and spoke to Gary about plumbing concerns sounded ok but then would not return calls or if I had questions. It's really hard to do business with a company when they ignore your calls...I do not know how someone can recommend them on Nextdoor??
Totally flabbergasted!! That is the worse type of customer service. At least he could of called to say he's too busy and will get back, but to just leave the customer hanging is BAD BUSINESS!

I agree with all of the reviews! Gary was great. It took him two days to return my call, but he apologized for the delay due to a busy schedule. He was on time, professional, and quickly replaced our toilet. Due to a really bad clog I thought it was going to be really expensive. He quoted me $130 over the phone and that's exactly what he charged us. I highly recommend Family Field Plumbing and will use Gary again if needed.

Called to make an appointment, Gary immediately hits me with how much more it is going to cost because Granite Bay isn't local to him. He gives me the bids over the phone without even seeing what we need done. It sounded like he wanted to deter me from using him.....

He calls two days later and leaves a message - canceling.

Found another plumber - he was GREAT. Didn't give us bids before seeing the work, he saw the work, gave us the price, did the work, and we are happy campers!

OMG ! My husband and I are first time home owners. We have a two story house ,and one night We noticed the that the water was leaking on the down stairs Celling right under need our bedroom shower. It was a headache . Calling our home insurance , and looking for plumbers to come out . The plumbers were giving Us crazy estimation like $560. Just to cut the dry wall to see . We were so stressed out . My husband decided to check on Yelp.
THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO US! Field Family Plumbing SAVED US ! He came out said it was an easy fix , drove to Home Depot bought the part he needed . Came back fixed it ,and did extra just to prevent future plumbing problems. Charged Us only $130. I was so happy I gave him a $20. Extra . Thank you Field Family plumbing! He may run a little late cos they really go the extra mile to make sure their customers are happy with the work. If he runs late, be Patient, He is awesome and worth the wait !

Ok, I had received a recommendation from a gal on our next-door neighbor app. I called Gary Field and explained my problem. He was so kind enough to come to my house with in a hour. He knew exactly what the problem was and fixed it immediately. Definitely reasonable price. I will definitely be putting this companies word of mouth out to my friends and family. I had a bad experience with my plumber from my home warranty who looked at my clogged pipe as an issue and instead of trying to give me options he threw up his hands and told me to call back when I figured out where my clear-out drain was. Well come to find out my house built in 1958 didn't include one. I called Gary & he came out the same day I needed him. He offered me the option of pulling my toilet off and snaking through the main pipe. Then he put my toilet back & sealed it like new within 45 minutes. He was friendly, knowledgeable, clean, fair and respectful. I really appreciated his efficiency and his great attitude of wanting to help & correct the problem. I know if I need any work done I will be definitely be calling him and would recommend them to all my friends and neighbors.

Finding an honest plumber is like finding an honest mechanic--- once you do, you won't call anyone else. Gary just finished helping us out with fixing our hot water heater, saved us $500 compared to the other company we called. We had a leak and were without hot water for a few days while trying to deal with our home warranty company and the plumbers that were dragging their feet with their end of the process. Thanks to Gary, who was willing to come out on a Friday evening and even through part of a Saturday, we now have hot water again as well as him fixing the clogged hot water line in our kitchen sink (something we didn't even ask him to do). I tell you what, being without hot water really makes you appreciate it when it's back on! If we'd gone with the plumbers affiliated with our home warranty company, we'd still be waiting! Plus, I sure can't complain about saving $500 (that would have been our out of pocket expense AFTER they got the check from our home warranty company). Give Gary a call, you won't regret it.

We want to emphasis what another reviewer indicated about what an impressive young tradesman Gary is. He's quick, conscientious, competent, and best of all affordable and fairly priced. We called him about a clogged up kitchen sink. He said he could come out within the hour or the next day. He was here within a half hour, cleared the sink and was on his way. Cost was $100, which was quite reasonable. He is friendly, efficient and does a great job. It's hard to find a plumber that is reasonable, does excellent work and is dependable. We will be using Gary for our home and rental properties in the future. Highly recommend him!

Wow!, what can I say. Gary is just great. He came out and worked very hard and competently on an installation job for me and charged me a very fair price. Then, due to a change I had to make in the job, he came out on a Saturday and worked for most of the afternoon and charged me way less than what the job was worth. He really knows his stuff and takes the time to also educate the customer about what he is doing. I have had bad experiences with many tradesmen in this area and it is really refreshing to have such a great experience with a plumber. Very Highly recommended.

Based on a recommendation from Next Door Neighbors too, I called Gary at Field Family Plumbing to replace the old plumbing and install my new fixtures in my guest bathroom remodel. I cannot say enough good things about him. He quoted me his prices over the phone, and they were very reasonable, including the cost of parts, which he keeps stocked in his van. His work was excellent. He is very polite, affable and hard working. He showed up on time and is very tidy and neat. It is obvious that he takes great pride in his work and that he is very knowledgeable at what he does. I will not even consider using any other plumber from now on whenever the need arises.

Recently I've experienced many unexpected expenses and then the water heater goes out. I called Gary after reading other reviews and tell him I need a new water heater. He tells me that maybe he can repair it. How often does that happen with a contractor? He shows up later that day with the part, fixes it for a small cost, and lets me know that when it goes out he will give me a solid cost estimate. He's a hard working professional plumber with old school ethics, very hard to find these days.

Gary is a great person to work with, a reliable and dependable plumber who is very conscious of his customer's time and money. He will come out, assess the damage, give you a quote and work out a mutual time when he can do repairs with his customers. I've used Gary twice now and he's worth the wait. He came out to my Mather home before the Thanksgiving holiday and fixed a leaking pipe that would've caused more damage had I not called him when I did. The thought of being gone for 3 weeks abroad and coming home to a flooded home would've been disastrous!

Honesty, dependability and hardworking are the qualities I look for and Gary has all of these and more. Don't hesitate...hire Gary!

I called this company through a referral from a coworker. So glad I did. I called on a sunday night for a sewer drain clog and Gary was able to come out Monday around 1pm. He was very friendly and honest. I told him about the clog that was happening in the house. He opened up the main drain from outside and asked me to flush the bad toilet in the house to test where the clog was. He was educating me through process and showed me the water flow in the drain. He said the water was passing which means the clog is closer to the street. To further test, he took the water hose and started filling up the main drain outside. When the drain started to fill, he confirmed the clog was closer to the street.

He snaked the pipe and the whole process took less than 30 minutes. The charge was $70! I am giving 4 stars because he was late. But he apologized and explained the previous customer unexpectedly took a little longer.

The company accepts cash or checks only.

I will definitely use Field Family Plumbing again. Thanks, Gary!

Great first experience with Field Family Plumbing. We will definitely use them again in the future. Gary took a couple of days to get back to me, but it was worth the short wait. It also wasn't an emergency, which I alluded to in my message. He was prompt on arriving at the early end of our appointment window, used shoe booties and mask, was clean, polite and replaced the wax ring on our toilet quickly and for a reasonable price. He also inspected a couple of other things that we might have him replace in the future.

Before calling Field's, I watched a You Tube video and thought hey we might just be able to fix this ourselves. Wisely, my better half reminded me of our first (and last) toilet DIY that went horribly wrong and ended up costing a LOT more than we would have spent had we just called a professional in the first place. No worries- Nextdoor and Yelp to the rescue! Thank you to all who wrote reviews, and a huge thank you to Gary!

After a big ol' leak had sprung after a pipe burst behind my home, I scoured Yelp for the best, most reputable plumbers. As a consumer, I don't know jack about plumbing, and for all I know, this job could cost $50 to $5,000.

And so I called several of Yelp's favorite plumbers in the area, their estimates ranged from a whopping $600 to $1500+, and they couldn't even fix it until the next day. I had to go another 24 hours living without running water.

My folks decided that their prices were ridiculous, so they contacted Field Family Plumbing. That same day, Gary came out, took a look at the problem (and even dug under the dirt to SEE what was the issue, the other plumbers did NOT), and quoted us an easy $250 to patch it up and do it that same day, with a 90-day warranty. He was professional, polite, to the point, and VERY truthful about how other plumbers price their services WAAYY too high.

I'm keeping his business card on hand, and I'm glad to have found what seems to be the last honest plumbing service in the area.

Made appointment to look at a new bathroom plumbing install and he never showed up. Wasted my time completely. I even took off work. No call and completely ghosted me. If you don't want the work simply say so. I just found out today he did the same thing today for my husband on a hose bib job. Why waste people's time? Just be honest and decline the job if you don't want it.

Our time is just as valuable as yours and you cost me time off from work which I'm not paid for.

we recently needed a plumber so I got a recommendation from Next Door Neighbors and Gary came with high flying reviews. He was honest, fast and extremely reasonable. He was so polite also. I have a 6 month old and he would tell me when it was going to be loud etc. (funny thing was my baby slept through the whole snaking ordeal). Gary is a one man band so as he is working he is also answering the phone, setting appointments, giving estimates which was totally fine with me. I felt very comfortable with him in my home. He also went above and beyond with his clean up. Overall we highly recommend giving him a call, leave a message and he will call back. =)

Gary came to my house to help with water leaking in my backyard. We thought the water line had a leak in the pipe. He gave me an estimate and advised me he would be back the next day. When he came back he noticed the water faucet to the sprinklers was leaking and needed to be tightened. After he did he realized that was the cause of the water in my backyard. Saved me $200. Since he was there he fixed my sprinklers. He is always nice and professional.

We have had them out twice, drain clogged, and sink clog. Old pipes, happens every 3 years.

I made the mistake of using another company recently. Huge mistake, hack job.

After experiencing our yearly root blockage issue in our 1952 year old home, we knew exactly who to call to correct our problem. Field Family Plumbing who we have utilized services from for two years running before now. Gary Field quickly responded to our call and gave us a quick turnaround date to service our pipe problems. Gary did a good job cleaning out my clogged drain at a reasonable price. The only issue was in scheduling. As with most independent contractors, he does his own scheduling and if he's busy, he seems to overbook himself. It took a couple of days to get him to my house, but it was worth the money I saved because thankfully, I didn't have a plumbing emergency. I'm sure I could've had roto rooter out sooner, but would've paid double the price.

Gary at FFP was reasonable, on time, and got my problem resolved the SAME DAY.

I had called around and several places diagnosed the problem over the phone as the garbage disposal. The prices ranged from $225-$275 labor and parts. Many places wouldn't be able to make it out until Monday and today was Friday.

Gary at FFP had 5 stars so I gave them a call. I understand why he's 5 stars. He was able to schedule me in the same day. He called me as he was getting closer. He took his shoes off before entering the home. Got here on time. One hour later he was done. Cleaned up after himself.

He's a one man show and an overall good hard working guy.

I will definitely use him again

FYI: He left a company he had worked for due to their unethical practices of selling new replacements rather than repairing them. That's why he decided to go into business for himself and run an ethical business. Been in business for 8 years now.

I contacted field family plumbing the weekend after Christmas (Sunday evening) because I needed my line snaked out after it had become clogged. Water in my tub wasn't draining, and my garbage disposal was spitting carrots into my bathtub.

I called and within 2 hours the owner came out and fixed the issue within 10 minutes by snaking my main line. Every other company I called either refused to give me a price over the phone or provided me with an hourly rate that was far above the total cost charged by FFP.

FFP did the snake for a flat rate with no questions asked and no upselling. He let me get on with what I had to do to prepare for the coming work week with no hassle and I have had no recurrence of the issue.

I would definitely recommend this plumber to any of my friends or family for fast, affordable service even on the weekend.

Gary did some good work for me on a couple of occasions. He's an independent guy so don't expect too many formalities, however, you can expect great work for a very good price. Gary was nice and super knowledgeable. He even gave me some tips on how to get more hot water pressure in the bathroom that ended up working out great. Field Family Plumbing is outstanding. I had two drains backed up and had tried everything I could think of to fix them myself. I saw the yellow pages ad and the yelp reviews and called FFP- I'm so glad I did! (Note: be patient when calling, I got called back and the problem taken care of the same day, just leave a message, I wanted it fixed now so I got ancy but it worked out.)

The arrival time was before promised, both kitchen sink and bathtub drains were fixed, in addition to fixing the glued-on pipe under the sink and its small drip. No up-selling, very friendly to me and my cat- answered all my questions- thorough and professional in every way. Also took the time to make sure the drain was actually unclogged before leaving.

In addition, all of this came in under $100.00, and I was worried I'd end up paying a fortune and that's why I tried to fix it on my own. If you want a reliable and honest plumber, this is it.

I would give 6 stars if I could. I contacted Field Family Plumbing due to a drain stoppage affecting my laundry room and kitchen. Water was backing up every time I ran the washer and/or dishwasher. I found Field Family plumbing off Yelp and read the good reviews. Gary Field showed up on time as scheduled and couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. He had my drain clear in about 1/2 hour and didn't try to sell me a more expensive drain clean out process or products I didn't need like some of the bigger commercial brand plumbers. His prices are extremely fair. It's nice to know honest plumbers do exist. I will definitely call Field Family Plumbing for all my plumbing needs.

The garbage disposal in my newly bought home was so rusted it was practically glued to the sink. My brother kindly offered to come over to replace the garbage disposal..something which should have been a quick replace based on the YouTube instructions. After 5 hours of trying to remove the old disposal, we gave up.

I found Field Family Plumbing via NextDoor and I can happily say I was not disappointed. I called, left a message and received a call back from Gary within a day. We set an appointment for him to come and I warned him about the issue. He had to use a power saw and something that should have taken no more than 30 minutes took him just over an hour. Gary was so patient and took the time to explain to me what happened. In spite of the issues, he never upped the charge on his estimate. I will be using the company for some upcoming work on my water heater and toilet.

If you want a meticulous, competent company that has reasonable pricing and a moral compass, Field Family Plumbing is the way to go!

Gary is the best. He answered promptly when I called and was available within an hour, but that didn't work. Scheduled for 2 days later and he called to let me know he was running a few minutes late, which I really appreciated. He got to the house, I showed him what we needed done and he got right to work. He replaced our kitchen faucet, he even checked the garbage disposal and found a bottle cap in the disposal. We couldn't get our hose off the pipe in the backyard and Gary was easily able to get it unscrewed from the pipe. He replaced some missing handles on the outside main water shut off . He fixed our wobbly bathroom faucet and replaced some missing pieces. And he also recaulked our other bathroom toilet. He worked very quickly and kept me informed of all of the coats of things as he was doing it, which was very nice. Super happy with his work and will definitely use him in the future for any plumbing needs.

Gary was a true professional. Pesky fridge water connection was a pain for several reasons beyond his control but he kept at it and didn't complain. Thorough, friendly without being intrusive. Fair rates. Wish all plumbers were as good as this.

BEWARE: Field Family Plumbing has proven to be a typical FLAKEY contractor. Flakey by means of wasting a bunch of your time.... And then like typical contractors.... Ghosts you. No call/text to say they're interested or not interested.

Flakey contractors need to be exposed.
Do not allow flakey contractors to go without sharing your bad experiences with flakiness on social media. Demand professionalism and accountability with contractors and expose the when they are not.

We get fired if we're unprofessional or unaccountable.... contractors should too.

We feel very lucky to have found Gary and his company! Integrity, honesty, fairness, care and kindness are just a few solid attributes that come to mind. Not to mention fast, thorough, knowledgable and efficient. Gary came to the rescue (THANK YOU, GARY!) when I hit a water line in a stud with a screw. We're forever thankful. We can't recommend him enough. I hightly recommend supporting this quality man and hist family. We've now hired him twice.

Gary is a great guy to do business with. His prices are very reasonable and he's very honest. I hope he stays in business forever because he is our first choice to call if we need a plumber and we have used him many times for several different plumbing jobs from the kitchen to the bathroom. Unlike many businesses, he doesn't gouge you or pad his bill by adding unnecessary work or high-priced items. If he says you need something then you can have completere confidence that you really need it.

Please have patience if you call him since he works so hard and is sometimes bombarded with jobs but he will get back to you as quickly as he is able to.

I called Gary for help with a slow drain in my laundry room. He was able to come out the next day at a time convenient for my family. He cleared out our drain and even took a look at our toilet for no extra charge. I prefer to support small local businesses, like Family Plumbing. I was not disappointed. There is no doubt that I would use Gary again and recommend his services without hesitation. Thanks Gary! :)

About a week ago I noticed my sink wasn't draining. The maintenance guy for our condo came over, tried to snake it out and said we'll need to get a plumber to look at it. Gary from Field plumbing came in the next 2 hrs. I was thinking it would be a couple of days later. Gary was very professional from beginning to end. He explained what he was doing and what he expected to happen after he did it. He was consciously making an effort to not make a mess (a plumber not wanting to make a mess, imagine that). He fixed the sink, didn't make a mess, was polite, professional and knowledgeable. I am not related to them and had never even heard of the company, but I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks Field Plumbing :-)...I'm in Elk Grove by the way.
