I broke the P-Trap in the master bedroom attempting to remove a screw that fell down the drain. The pipe was old and corroded and broke as soon as I put pressure on the connection. Dennis came out the same day, on time, and was able to repair the P-Trap. He saved us a lot of money in repairs and did an excellent job. Fast, efficient and dependable.

My day started with my wife saying, There's no hot water, I can't do laundry, I can't wash dishes, I can't take a shower, and I'm late for my meeting, bye. I opened the Yelp app on my iPad and searched for water heater repair. I picked DS Plumbing because they were located in Orangevale, where I live. By 10:00 AM, I had an estimate to replace my water heater, and by 4:00 that afternoon, I had a new water heater and HOT water. My wife is happy. Thank you Dennis  for the prompt service, and the professional installation. I'm a retired contractor, and I appreciated your trade knowledge and workmanship.

My sister is disabled and her kitchen sink clogged.  Dennis arrived very promptly and was very cautious about wearing gloves, etc to keep us safe.  He fixed the problem and was on his way, leaving a clean kitchen and working sink behind.  Thank you!  We have family in El Dorado Hills, Folsom and Orangevale and all of us will be using DS Plumbing from now on.

Talk about FAST. Fast to Reply, to give a money Saving quote, to show up EARLY, to get the job done EFFECTIVELY & EFFICIENTLY. I have a father & brother who worked in the trades. I have done plumbing. I'm too old for it now. DS Plumbing just became OUR GO-TO GUYS. Polite, very patient with my pops who has dementia & still wants to talk trade and got here too early for me to be home so had to cope with the 85 year olds.  Very patient. Use these guys. They follow NCV-19 protocols, so no worries. Take cash, checks or Cards. Really Fast. Did I mention that?

Recommend by a friend to correct things that a previous plumber that we had hired to put in a tankless water heater. The building inspector gave us a list of corrections to fix and DS plumbing came out and fixed everything that needed to be done.
They came out as soon as they could when the parts were available and finished the job within a day.

YOU HAVE TO USE THIS PLUMBER WHEN YOU ARE IN NEED! I just have to tell you, that I have been a business owner for many years and I know that unpaid consulting doesn't bring in monetary gain. However, it does bring referrals for someone that you know you can trust.  Dennis was called for a service call on a garbage disposal issue, he proceeded to walk through the process on how to clear the issue first versus scheduling a paid service call. His directions worked and didn't need the paid service. However, this doing the right thing act, to me, has great value! It is always hard to find your service guy or gal but, when you do, you want to tell your friends!  Dennis, and DS Plumbing, have earned my plumbing business, hands down! We are new to the area and went to Yelp to look for a plumber. I was impressed seeing all the reviews on Dennis. We let him a message and he responded and we scheduled him to come out. He showed up on time, wore a mask and was respectful of the house. He was fair on pricing and got the job done. He didn't leave a mess behind. We asked for rough estimate on another project and once again the price seemed very fair. We will be using him again for sure. It's hard to find a good plumber with how busy they all are, we got lucky with Him.

My showers pull style valve was very hard to open. I enlisted the opinions of 2 different plumbers, DS Plumbing being the second, I'm sure glad we did after the first plumber said the valve was not able to be repaired, I called DS Plumbing. Their plumber was out on time and communication was awesome with my adult son who was there in my stead. The valve had an insert that needed to be fixed, and was in short order. Not only was the fix quick it was lower than the quoted price. I would recommend DS to anyone who has plumbing needs and they will be my first and only call from here out.

I called DS Plumbing based on positive reviews and close proximity to where services was needed.  The toilet at my parents house was clogged and it's only a one bathroom house, and to make matters worse there are multiple caregivers coming in and out of the house that need a working toilet throughout the day.  Dennis answered the call!  He was out at their house and had the problem diaginosed within 30 minutes of our initial conversation and the problem was fixed in less than a hour.  Fee seemed to the going rate was nothing compared to the peace of mind it provided knowing one less thing was off my plate.

I called Dennis after reading other reviews. Our plumbing was backing up into the shower! Dennis came out within the hour. He gave an estimate over the phone before he arrived. He arrived with a mask for our protection and kept it on the entire time. Within 2 hours the job was complete and he charged much less than the original estimate. Before starting the job, he tried very hard to accomplish the task in the least expensive manner, but we did not have outside access so the toilet had to be removed. The entire process was very painless. We will call DS Plumbing for all of our plumbing needs!

Our water heater started leaking last evening and making hissing sound

I scrambled to make a few desperate phone calls

Some quotes are quite high and I kept calling. One folk who picked up the phone and told me rudely they are closed for the next few weeks under the current virus situation. No judgement here As I understand that are all going thru some difficult times now

Then Dennis answered my call and gave me a reasonable quote and told me he will be here at 830am the next day and he did!

We are very please with the job he has done. Very pleasant guys to talk to!

If you need a plumber who knows his trade, works fast but with attention to detail, and has low prices, this is your guy! I needed a leaking water heater replaced and I was dreading it, knowing that last time I went through this I paid 2 plumbers by the hour as they watched my old water heater drain and they took all day and into the evening to finish. But I called DS Plumbing because they were local (Orangevale) and I read some reviews reporting they came right out when you called. I was not disappointed. Dennis answered the phone, said he just finished a job and could come right over. He showed up 10 minutes later, checked out the leaking water heater, noted that it did not have earthquake straps or a drip pan as it should and said he would give me an estimate. Five minutes later  I had an estimate and he said he could do the work right away if I wanted. Not only was the fixed job price reasonable but he included adding the straps and drip pan. He completed the job in a few hours. Dennis made my day and I no longer have to search for a new plumber!

I requested a quote to fix /replace a leaky water valve.  When I sent a pic to Dennis, he gave me instructions on how to repair the leak myself.  Sure as heck, it worked, I was able to fix it myself for free.  He was nice enough to suggest this unlike the other companies I spoke with.  It's hard to come by people who genuinely want to help and are not just out there for the $.  Given this experience, I will absolutely call DS the next time I need any type of plumbing work done.

After searching reviews I called Dennis.  My kitchen sink was backed up and no amount of plunging and draino was fixing it.  Dennis responded immediately and set the appointment for the next morning at 7:00 a.m.!  He was right on time and fully masked.  He went right to the cleanout outside of the house and found the problem.  This was not something I would ever have been able to do myself.  After only 1/2 hour, my sink was fixed!  Very reasonable price as well.  Dennis is definately going on my speed dial.  I highly recommend!

I wouldn't go to anyone else. I called him on a Saturday because the house to my  pipe burst.  I had no idea if he would even answer due to it being Saturday. He answered on the second ring and said he would be out in a few hours.  He showed up on time and got it done. It wasn't a fun job but thank goodness he got it done.

First called a 1-800 number plumbing who couldn't be bothered to help.
I had a problem with the water heater that I didn't realize was six years old when we moved into our home!! Dennis answered the phone very promptly on a Sunday came out the next day was actually early(score) now I can take a shower.
He was very sweet took the time to make sure I knew where my water shut-off valves were didn't seem rushed and the customer service was amazing!!

I am very happy to have found Dennis!  I prefer dealing with someone directly, not with a big company that has many layers of personnel. Dennis answered his own phone, made an appointment for the next business day and was there when he said he would be.  He installed the new faucet in our kitchen and replaced a leaking shut-off valve too.  Was relieved that he had one on his truck, which saved me a trip to the plumbing store! Dennis helped me out when I had hired another company that was overcharging me so badly that I cancelled with them in the middle of the job. I had no sink and no pipes under the sink. I contacted several plumbers in Yelp and Dennis contacted me right away and came out that day and gave me an estimate, which was 1/5th the price the other company was trying to charge me. He came out the next day with another guy and they put in the new sink and all the pipes under the sink. He did a great job. Dennis is a nice guy, he's honest and he does really good work.

I needed a sink  installed in the garage.  The garage was pre-plumbed with the water lines and drain.  I got the sink, sink stand, and a faucet to be installed and all hooked up.

My first stop was to Yelp for plumbers @ the area with excellent reviews.  I called the top 3 to get responses and quotes.

I called DS Plumbing and talked to Dennis.  I sent him a couple pics of what I wanted done.  He came back with a good quote and I asked when may we schedule?; he responded that he will be on the way.  Dennis came @ 20 minutes and in a couple hours he got the whole thing installed, hooked-up, and completed.

He did an excellent job, was very courteous, professional, communicated well, and had the area cleaned after the work was done.

We called Dennis on a Saturday afternoon after finding out that we had a leak in our garbage disposal.  I was a little worried because it was a weekend but I was able to schedule an appointment with him the next day at around noon. He showed up a little early, confirmed our problem,  and started replacing our garbage disposal.  He was courteous and fast!  After installing, he made sure that there were no more leaks coming out.    I highly recommend his services if you have any plumbing issues in your home.

This is a review on what sets Dennis apart from many other businesses on Yelp and in general. Keeping it brief...I have a Firepit that I stupidly did not cover the last two winter seasons. The burner corroded and cracked. I figured I could replace it, so I went online and after a lot of research, I bought what I needed. Thinking now it would be best to have a professional install it because gas is involved, I looked to NFI professionals that are certified for this type of work. None of the local ones would do it because I didn't purchase from them. I was advised to seek help from a plumber because they also can install gas lines. I reached out to many on Yelp and all but one replied that they don't perform this service. That one was Dennis he asked for more details, got some pictures and said he would do it. Because I work out of town, scheduling M-F business hours is difficult. He offered to do it on a Saturday morning. Now, I didn't ask this if him. He offered it. He did what it took and what built his business reputation. He showed up Saturday morning, and when what I purchased was a bit too big to fit into my firepit, he offered to use my grinder with his cutting wheel to cut it down to size. In less than an hour, my firepit was up and safely running. He works by himself as it is hard to find good help these days As a business owner myself, I realize that applies more today than ever.
I offered to write a review and refer him to anybody that needed plumbing services in the area. We need more businesses like DS Plumbing to thrive. Give Dennis the opportunity!

Dennis was awesome. He responded timely. He communicated well with me. He gave me a good quote. 300 .00 cheaper than Bonney plumbing quoted. He showed up on time. Wore a face mask. Did a great job. Bonney plumbing refused to give a quote via the telephone. It was cut and dry what I needed done. They charged 49.99 just to come out to give a quote. The quote was so huge I sent Bonney packing. Complete opposite experience with Dennis. Honest, reliable, hard working. He knows his stuff. He has been a Plummer for 24 years. I highly recommend him. Very pleasant personality. He arrived at the time he said he would. Just all around great service. He was so thorough he found two other small leaks. He tightened up the pipe and hose and fixed the leaks. The bill was what he quoted. 150.00. After my bad experience with Bonney Plumbing yesterday, Dennis was a breath of fresh air. Thank you Dennis

I would HIGHLY recommend DS Plumbing (Dennis Sosa) for your plumbing needs.  Our drain under the wash machine backed up, and after a weekend of trying to solve the problem ourselves with Drano and a 25 ft borrowed snake, Dennis came out within 45 min of calling.  We had gotten another quote for $205 just to snake the laundry room pipes, and Dennis did it for less than half of that.  

Dennis is friendly, courteous, and prompt, and knew his stuff.  He moved his business here from the Bay Area a year ago, and I hope people spread the word that he is reliable and honest.  He is bonded, licensed and insured and has a 30 day warranty should your plumbing problem arise (no pun intended) again.  Does he wear a uniform with his name on it...no, but I wouldn't trade his experience and no BS for anything.

Water heater issues are always a pain but made worse when you feel like someone's trying to capitalize on the inconvenience during winter but that wasn't the case with Dennis at all. He was professional and just great from start to finish of our new water heater install.

To start, Dennis was really responsive through yelp/texts and gave reasonable quote ranges compared to several others I communicated with. He arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled window he gave, looked over the scope of the work, confirmed the bid and I agreed to it. He started instantly, worked efficiently and cleanly. The prior plumber made several sloppy and unsightly errors that Dennis corrected and the result of his workmanship can be seen in the photos. (Old heater - white Whirlpool; new heater - gray A.O. Smith).

He replaced the old gas shut off valve and extended it so it wouldn't be kinked up between the heater and wall (see before and after). He also installed a new copper discharge line that correctly went straight down and out to the exterior wall rather than the weird hodge podge connection that ran up and around the old Whirlpool heater. Separately, I asked him a question about an issue I had with the water in my shower and a laundry drain leak, and he was able to quickly diagnose the problems and still had time to cutoff a corroded galvanized drainline and repair the laundry line. His copper line cuts measured well and the soldering of pipes were clean.

I personally waited a week without hot water because I wanted to make sure I got the right guy for the job, and Dennis didn't disappoint. I wouldn't hesitate to call him for future plumbing needs and will definitely be recommending him to my friends and family. Our water heater is working great!

What a professional and courteous service experience I had today with the help of Dan at DS Plumbing.   I woke up to discover a leaky shower value and had problems removing the handle to replace the cartilage so I called DS plumbing and Dan was so helpful on the phone and we said he was driving up toward my area and would stop by to give it a look.  He texted me when he was on his way and showed up in a new white van.  He used his expertise to remove the handle and cartilage that was stuck, due to mineral deposits, in less then 20 second to complete the job.  He decided to not charge me for the visit.  I was more then happy to pay him for his time but he did feel he did very much.  For me it made my day.  I appreciate his generosity and would also recommend him for future work due to professional service, clean attire with mask, and friendly personality.

My bathroom sink backed up over the weekend. I called Dennis Monday morning since my efforts to snake it failed. His earliest appointment was Friday. If it was possible to give DS Plumbing 100 stars, I would! Dennis is someone who is honest and fair. We had a truly horrible experience with another company who cut into our driveway for a sewer blockage that was completely unnecessary. Dennis saved us $$$$$ by walking us through the issue, explaining his recommendation and fixing our problem quickly. I am kicking myself for not contacting him in the first place! Lesson learned... We noticed water puddling in our garage on Sunday and then saw that water was soaking the drywall on the wall of our garage as well. Based on his positive Yelp reviews, we called Dennis first thing on Monday morning.  He came that afternoon exactly as promised, assessed the situation, carefully cut out a section of the drywall and spotted a pinhole leak in the copper cold water line.  He repaired the leak and carefully cleaned up. Plumbing problems are always an unexpected surprise, but Dennis made it relatively painless and we would definitely use him for all of our plumbing needs.

Yesterday our gas water heater died so there was no hot water for showering in the master bathroom or downstairs guest bathroom. After calling several plumbers who wanted a fortune just to show up and who couldn't get to us for two days or more, I luckily found Dennis. He showed up at 7pm same day after his last appointment and did everything he could to bring our 29 year old water heater back to life but it was no use. He offered to come back the next day and install a brand new gas water, a much better model, at a very reasonable price. I say reasonable because it was a high quality heater AND because it was a true struggle to get the old heater out of the ridiculously narrow heater room in our bedroom clothes closet and install the new one. Dennis actually had to make two trips to the supplier to find a premium heater model that could fit into the room where the old heater was. After the new heater was in he showed me how to adjust it. Although the actual bill was higher than his estimate he stuck with his  estimate. On top of all that Dennis is a genuinely nice guy who is fun to talk to. You just can't go wrong with him. That's why I gave him 5 stars.

I called DS plumbing because the tank of the toilet started leaking and I had water all over the floor. Dennis answered right away and after he finished the job he was working on came right over. He checked out everything and found the crack. He had to replace the toilet, purchased one for us and came over at 9:00 a.m. replaced the toilet and was done within the hour. He disposed the old toilet for us which saved us having to do it. I was surprised what he charged us for two days of work. Beyond reasonable that I felt that he deserved a nice tip. He is personable, professional, honest and cleans up that you wouldn't even know I had any work done. You can't go wrong with him.

This is a great plumbing company. Always try to trade local in Orangevale when possible. Water heater went belly up Friday night. Inquired Saturday about replacement with several companies. Denis responded that he could be out with a replacement Monday afternoon. His quote was a bit lower than other companies as well. He showed up mask on ready to go to work. I needed Dennis's services again when my water heater started leaking.  He was able to respond more quickly than he had estimated, which turned out to be a very good thing, because the water heater needed replacement rather than repair.  (I later learned, through research, that it was the original one in my condo- 40 years old!)  The job took a few hours, as the old one had to be drained and then removed, and he had to go and get a new one and install it.  But he worked very efficiently and I now have a brand-new water heater!  I hope I don't need his services again, but I won't hesitate to call when I do.

I try to use Angie's list it was an abysmal dismal failure as we got phone calls at six in the morning promises to come out the same day and they never did I called Miss Jim and he was extremely busy was in the middle of the job it was polite and took my phone call letting me know that he was currently working on another project and he kept his promise he was out of my house at noon would receive quotes from Bonney plumbing First Street thousand dollars to $15,000 in for 275 he was out the door with a military discount for my family and was very very honest and professional I will never ever ever ever ever call anyone else but this gentleman actually a pure pleasure to deal with and very rare breed to find an honest person in this day and age

My original post was based on the first visit. The 2nd, however, was a different story. We need two hose bibs replaced outside. One was easily replaced. The other would have required a bit of work. He decided he would repack the tap as opposed to replacing it. We paid him and he went on his merry way.

We needed to use the tap that had been repacked only to find the threads had been completely stripped.

Not happy campers. We won't be calling again.

I want to personally thank Dennis for coming out to our house last night within 1 hour of my calling for our emergency.  I had connected a garden hose to an outside tap that we hadn't used in decades and it broke off, streaming a one-inch pipe of water over our walkway.  I managed to turn off the water main to stop the flood, but our house was then without water at 5 pm on a Tuesday.  I called our regular plumber but they couldn't send anyone for at least 24 hours.  I then did a quick Yelp lookup and found DS Plumbing.  No wonder Dennis has earned 5 stars!  he asked me to send him two pictures of the broken pipe which I did, and he said he would be there within the hour and he was.  Dennis has a new very loyal customer!  Very prompt, very efficient, very responsive, very knowledgeable!  Is there a way to give 6 stars?

Dennis was incredible. He went above and beyond. I had an issue with my water heater, the pilot light went out, and I had family from out of town. I called the manufacturer and they wanted me to buy a new kit!!!
But when I spoke to Dennis he explained that was not necessary and he came out within an hour to the rescue. I would definitely recommend him. What I really liked that he was down to earth and honest, and also he is a small family owned business. I had called other companies and they have me a quote for almost triple the price of what dennis charged me.

Dennis came out to check out a leaky shower valve and a running toilet.
Fixed the shower and gave me some good advice on the toilet.

He came back a few weeks later when we were ready to change our bathroom Faucets. One of the sinks had a weird drain issue, but he took his time and was careful to install everything perfectly.

We plan on having him back again to replace our toilets.  

Good guy, great work, reliable, can't ask for much more.  If you need a plumber and you're reading this... I think you just found your plumber!

Last night, I walked into the garage, looked up and saw what appeared to be a wet spot in our garage ceiling. Called Dennis to arrange a kitchen faucet replacement.  We had a new faucet ready to go.  He answered my call immediately, gave a range of cost for the work, offered a time slot the next day.  He was about 30 minutes earlier than the appointment, which worked fine for us.  He had a surgical mask in his truck, however I provided a new, better KN95 mask, which he wore.  He worked efficiently, removing our problem faucet and installing the new one.  He tested all the functions of the faucet.  We were very happy with his service and courtesy.

Home depot is remodeling our kitchen and the estimate their contractor gave us for moving the refrigerator water outlet sounded very high.  Also, during demolition of our old kitchen home depot's contractor found a gas pipe in an unexpected location that needed to be moved before the new cabinets could be installed.  I looked on Yelp Wednesday evening for a local plumber that could move the water outlet and the gas line.  Dennis responded to my Yelp message in less than 5 minutes and arrived promptly Thursday morning to look at the job.  We thought his estimate was fair and asked him when he could start the job.  He was able to fit us in late Friday morning and completed the work in about 2 hours.  Next year we're replacing a tub in our bathroom and I'll definitely call Dennis first.

Dennis was super easy to communicate with through the Yelp platform, providing a quick, fair estimate that he stood behind.  We reached out to him Sunday around noon, and I certainly didn't have this expectation, but he fit us in a few hours later, the same day.   Our kitchen drain was clogged.  He soon solved the clog effectively, then went on to very patiently test and resolve some leaks I had created when I tried and failed to fix the clog myself.  As they say: A+++++.

Dennis gave me a fair estimate for my faucet install over the phone and was able to come on the day I needed him. I later realized I needed the sinks hooked up too, so I called to let him know about the additional task, which he said was no problem and he could do the sinks as well on our scheduled day. Dennis helped us with a severely leaky kitchen sink and clogged drain lines. He replaced and reconfigured the sink pipes and replaced the leaking faucet with one I purchased. Dennis gave me the best estimate on replacing my 30+ year old hot water heater so I selected him to do the work.  Since he owns his business and does his own work, I felt comfortable with his approach and level of knowledge. He replaced the hot water heater and also solved the mystery of how our system is set up - the original owners installed 2 hot water heaters that are tied together (no other plumber has ever mentioned that to us before - even when we had the other hot water heater replaced).

Yay Dennis! Another very happy (and relieved) customer here, after having two Handyman totally mess up my plumbing due to a minor leak, I was without water for three days. I contacted Dennis last night through Yelp and By this morning he had the entire problem fixed!
Dennis offered me a free consultation, and then I only had to pay $95in order for him to fix the complex issue. Next time, I will go straight to a plumber. And from now on, I know I have a good one.

Update: OMG! It happened again! What a great plumber! I awoke today with a wet carpet, which covers a slab floor. I thought I was in big trouble this time financially... Contacted Dennis again and he was at my house in an hour, immediately noting all kinds of possibilities that I had overlooked. He was willing to climb over junk and crawl into difficult spaces and get wet in the rain to discover the problem and after an thorough investigation, told me to clean up a small area of leaves and call him again if the problem persisted! My hot water heater went out unexpectedly. Dennis responded immediately and was so incredibly helpful. He walked me through the entire process and together we came up with a plan that worked out perfectly. He got the hot water back on but the unit was failing. It was old and needed to be replaced. Our house had a hold up in the main line that affected everything in the house. Our toilets wouldn't flush right, our showers would back up immediately, and we couldn't wash our clothes or even do dishes due to this clog. We went through our home warranty, which was a joke because they sent out a company that was quick to give up on us despite making us wait 3 days, leaving us showering at the gym for a week. I called Dennis at DS Plumbing, and we made an appointment for him to come out the next day. Dennis was at our house right on time, and got to work with the information I was able to give him. Two hours later, Dennis had resolved a week long issue and saved us from losing our minds and putting our house up on the market. He also found an additional piping issue underneath the house that I will be calling him to help me repair in the very near future. Our kitchen faucet decided to it was tired and crapped out on us Tuesday evening; after desperately trying to repair it ourselves for several hours, we accepted the defeat and contacted DS Pluming. Dennis was out the next morning at 9:00 AM - during conversation prior to his arrival, he suggested we go out and get a new facet just in case the old one couldn't be repaired. He arrived on time and took a look - he was all set to do what he could but I insisted that I would prefer the new faucet; I mean, it's new and shiny and better lol. He politely agreed that it was probably for the best, shot out a quote (which we accepted right away, seemed pretty fair) and he got straight to work. It took no time at all and looks AMAZING!! I got a guy... - It's what we all want to be able to say, right??  Well Dennis is it.

I called Dennis to replace a 14-yr old instant-hot recirculating pump that came with the house when it was built. He asked for a picture over the phone and after a long wait time from the vendor (not his fault) he came over to install.

This is where it gets interesting.  He instantly saw that the piping for the recirculation pump was misconfigured by the original builder and after a quick test, also found that a bad check-valve, which was pushing cold water into the hot water lines.  This explained why our new overpriced water heater from another plumber (with a name of 5-stars) wasn't giving us more than 2 minutes of hot water. They just sold me a water heater and said nothing about the misconfigured pipes staring at them in the face. When I told them the pump may be bad too, they just said to call them back if there's more problems.

But not Dennis. He's a pro. He reconfigured the piping and installed new pump, all at a fair price. He was also is good at explaining the work needed and not selling the work.  Today, I have nice long hot showers!

And now.... I got a guy.

Dennis has gained a customer for life! Of the 4 plumbers I called, he's the only one that answered the phone. Once I told him what we needed, he asked me questions about my tankless water heater that I didn't know... but all I had to do was send him a picture. He was able to figure it out & knew he could provide the maintenance, provided a quote AND was available the very next morning. He's responsive, patient with alllllllll of my questions (sorry Dennis!) and he showed up as promised. I like to keep a data base of people that do good work and I added Dennis to my list. Although my job was not complex, a plugged drain, he did a great job. He gave me a reasonable estimate and actually the job came in at a lesser price. I'm 70 and so the fact that he wore a mask the entire time he was here was great. I thought I had a clogged pipe, but after Dennis arrived and diagnosed the problem I found out I had a sump tank and pump. I had no idea and was never told when we bought the house.
Dennis determined what the problem was prepped the job and came back the next day with a new pump and installed it quickly, and as it should have been the last time it was worked on.
I can't recommend Dennis highly enough! He was pleasant to work with and does excellent work.

I called and got an answer from Dennis who said he would be able to come that afternoon and look at the piping underneath the kitchen sink. He showed up, saw that the issue involved placement of the garbage disposal. He adjusted and aligned, replaced a short pipe with a little larger one and was done in 30 or 40 minutes. I'd probably give 5 stars if the job were more complicated. But really no complaints. I don't have comparator on pricing at $175, but because he was so responsive and competent I have no complaints.

When the hot water heater failed recently, we turned to our home warranty provider and placed a claim. They contracted a plumber from 90 minutes away to do the job and after 36 hours all we had was approval for the purchase - not even an install date - let alone hot water.

I took to Yelp and reached out to DS Plumbing, a local business I had bookmarked shortly after moving to Orangevale. Dennis, the business owner and service provider responded within minutes to my quote request even though it was already after normal business hours. He started that evening, by offering to come by after leaving his last job of the day to get a look at the situation. He waded through our move-in mess and family setting with a positive and friendly demeanor despite it being after 7 pm.

Dennis replaced the hot water heater the next day including work to meet code. Still, on top of that, he replaced a failed cartridge in the shower and shimmed/caulked a toilet and took the time to scope potential future projects we have in mind - all by 4 pm the next day. We hadn't heard back from the other business for a possible install date and Dennis was finished.

Most importantly to us, Dennis was friendly and communicative during his time in our home, joking with Grampa and even entertaining our spirited toddler when she would weave her way into his path.

He was skillful and neat in his work and able to explain with clarity the reasoning behind certain decisions. He displayed expediency, attention-to-detail and concern for our property and overall satisfaction. His knowledge of code requirements was also helpful in guiding us on future updates. His pricing was spot-on to what we expected and he helped document on the invoice, information we needed to apply our home warranty coverage on the new water heater. I can say with confidence that when we need help with any plumbing need, our first call will be to Dennis of DS Plumbing.

Today I received a quote from Armstrong Plumbing for over 2k and thought it seemed VERY pricey for the job description. I called Dennis, he was able to be at my house in 20 minutes, found the very simple problem, and only charged me $145!! Armstong plumbing said they needed to cut a hole in my wall, replace my pipe, and then clear the drain.  Dennis unscrewed the top of the drain and cleaned out a bunch of gunk/hair on the top that was causing the blockage.  The sink works perfectly now.  He even drew me a picture of how my pipes were configured to show me how easily the problem could be fixed.  I can't believe how the larger companies like Armstong plumbing try to rip people off and get away with it.  I am feeling so thankful there are still honest, small business owners out there, like Dennis, to step in and call out the BS.  Thank you Dennis!

I called Dennis at 7am, thinking I'd be leaving a message. He answered the phone and was already working. I explained our downstairs shower didn't have hot water and that my husband was recovering from a broken leg and surgery and could not go upstairs to shower. They cleared our drains, then used a camera to make certain they were sludge free.  Also had several faucut handles that needed tightening.  

Prices We're very reasonable, using them from now on for all our plumbing needs.

Requested a quote for a water heater leak. He came out within the hour and had it replaced in 24 hours. He wore a mask and communicated quickly when I had a question. I would recommend him for anyone who is in need of an efficient plumber.

We had an outdoor water pressure problem that numerous others (landscaper, water service company) were scratching their heads over.  Dennis evaluated the setup and was able to narrow the problem to 2 possible issues.  He promptly figured out how to differentiate the 2 and was able to fix the problem within a few hours.  He was friendly, efficient, honest, knowledgeable, helpful, dependable and conscientious.  And his rates are VERY reasonable! Highly recommended.  We're keeping him on our go-to list.

Dennis was very good at responding to my messages.  Had 2 toilets to be replaced.  Everything was going great, but then the second toilet had a small leak.  We had to call Lowe's to let them know about the defective one and they had to get one sent to us.  I thought it was going to take days, but we received it the next day.  I messaged Dennis to find out when he could come back out to install the new toilet.  I was so anxious and Dennis probably was sick of hearing from me!!  He is a real professional and a very nice guy.  He offer a discount on the replacement toilet, but we refused and thanked him so very much.  We are working on a refund on the cost of installation of a faulty toilet.  All is good!  If you are looking for an excellent, professional plumber - go with Dennis, you won't regret it!! Thanks again Dennis!!

Dennis is great. He will definitely be my go to plumber now. He is very prompt and super friendly. Dennis came to my home today and installed two new toilets. He also drilled a hole in my sink so he could install an air gap. Everything looks beautiful and I couldn't be happier with his work. I would highly recommend DS Plumbing.

I had a leak from a valve in the house's fire suppression system. The first plumber that I called stated that the whole valve needed to be replaced for a charge of $550.00 and that he would need to order the part.
A week and a half later, the part had still not arrived and I had to keep the water for the house turned off to prevent the leak.

I called Dennis at DS Plumbing Services for an estimate. He arrived on time, assessed the situation immediately and corrected the problem within 10 minutes and was very reasonably priced. He even recommended that I have the fire suppression system every checked every 1-2 years to insure that it will function properly.

I cannot express how grateful I am to have found an honest, experienced, professional and reliable plumber. Cannot recommend DS Plumbing Services enough.

We used Yelp to request quotes for our faucet. Two responded with quotes to replace our faucet, and the others wanted us to call them. We hired DS Plumbing (Dennis) because he was rated 5 stars, and his quote was $50 less than the other plumber. He came over within a couple hours and had the faucet replaced in 20 minutes. He ended up charging us $120 less than the other quote. Dennis is friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and very fair in his pricing. We highly recommend him for your Plumbing needs.
