So, I'll cut to the chase. Problems with a contractor left me with a job near finished, but not ready for inspection. My problem was a capped sprinkler head. I called California Fire Protection and Andrew called me back right away. I texted a picture and Andrew sent out Anthony to look at my problem. Within 30 seconds of climbing his ladder, he uncapped the sprinkler head and put the flange trim back on. When I asked what I owed (Andrew had thought it would run about $375 for a few hours work.) Anthony's reply, no charge.  These guys have earned a customer for life. This is what a real contractor does, be honest. Thank you California Fire Protection

I first met Andy when I called him on a Saturday on behalf of a client in escrow. We had questions about the home's unique sprinkler system, motor and pressure tank. Anthony was working in the neighborhood and responded to my crisis when the fire sprinkler alarm sounded. After 911 was called and the firemen determined it was the flow sensor, I called another company to perform the repair. I the meantime, I contacted Anthony who came right over, assessed the situation and fixed the problem. About twenty minutes later Company A called me back to schedule the repair.

I recently purchased a home and the previous owner's painter painted the fire sprinkler covers. Big no-no. The covers are designed to fall off at a specific temperature (135 degrees) and if they are painted, the paint blocks that plus paint dries like glue so the covers won't fall off and the sprinkler can't do it's job.

I found California Fire Protection on Yelp and the reviews were great so I made an appointment. Andy came out to inspect, flush and test my fire sprinkler system and replace 22 painted fire sprinkler covers. He is very professional and knowledgeable. He is probably fast too, but I followed him around the house talking to him. I may have made him late for his next appointment.

Oh man, you do not want to see water dripping from the 37-year-old  ceiling fire sprinkler in your home.  But that was my situation and so I found two companies to call with fire protection in their name. I didn't get a good feeling from the first company so I called California Fire Protection. The dispatcher put me through to the technician, Anthony, who has 15 years of experience in fire sprinkler systems so that was reassuring. He is a San Clemente local so that was another plus. And the pricing, which at first pass sounded equivalent to the other fire protection company, was less because he said a simple job would not be the full price. I thought that was very fair, as the first company quoted a 3- hour minimum regardless of how easy the job was. Anthony explained everything he was doing, and is also coming back for free to install the cover after my painter patches up the ceiling.  Totally recommend them.

We had what we thought was a leak from one of our fire sprinklers in the kitchen and there was water constantly dripping down onto our wood floors and soaking the ceiling. We needed someone out ASAP to stop any water damage and Andy was at our front door in 10 minutes since was already in the area. Andy was able to diagnose the problem as a leak from our air conditioner in the attic and saved us from having to cut open the drywall and have a huge project on our hands. I had an issue with my residential fire sprinkler system and used California Fire Protection and backflow to mitigate the issue. Andy quickly responded to my request for service at a reasonable price as well as showed up to my house within an hour of calling him (it was in the evening and he stopped by on his way home). I was very pleased with the professionalism and quick response provided at a fair price!

I had a pipe that goes to fire sprinkler system punched by a screws from previous tenant of the house, also the valve in the riser box got broken when I tried to drain the water out after turning off our main water switch. Anthony came the next day and fix everything. He is very professional and courteous, did a good job to repair both issues around 3 hours. One of my fire sprinklers was leaking so I called Andy and few other places. Andy was helpful over the phone, came out the same day and fixed the sprinkler for a very reasonable price. He also inspected the system while he was here and was great to work with. Highly recommended.

I had some heavy corrosion on the steel fire protection pipe connected to the copper line coming into the house.  California Fire gave me a fair estimate to replace all of the steel piping between the copper inlet and the brass check valve (a few feet away).  All of the other contractors either didn't call me back, gave me a ridiculously high estimate to replace all of my steel piping (much of which is hidden behind drywall) or only wanted to replace the small steel pipe section that was heavily corroded.  Apparently copper and steel don't mix well, but brass connected to steel is ok.  Anthony did the repair and was extremely friendly and helpful answering all of my questions and testing the system afterwards.  I highly recommend this company.

They did the testing for my backflow prevention device. Their prices were fair, communication was great and did exactly what they promised. Cannot ask for much more than that. Thank you.

My home has sprinklers that had never been inspected since the time it was built 15 years ago.  I wanted to know everything was working properly, so I looked on yelp to find an expert.  

Andy from California Fire Protection and Backflow came out to inspect, flush and test my system and he was a pro who was great to work with.  He knew these systems inside and out and took the time to answer my questions and explain how everything worked.

He showed up on time (a few minutes early) and was able to do everything in just over half an hour.

Price was very reasonable and having the peace of mind to know the system is working properly is great.

They came on time. They wore masks. Installed my sprinkler covers and their inspection of y sprinkler system was cost effective compared to other companies.

I can not recommend California Fire Protection enough. I was awakened at O Dark Thirty this morning to the sound of the alarm on my fire sprinkler system going off. After shutting off the breaker to the alarm, I contacted this company.  One of their technicians, Anthony, called me. I described what happened and he told me when he would be out to take a look. He called to say he could be here early. Yeah!

In less than 10 minutes, he checked the water pressure sensor, adjusted it, and confirmed that the alarm no longer went off. All fixed. I asked how much I owed him and said there was no charge! He also left me his card in case I had any additional issues. What a great local company.

My fire bell had been randomly going off for months. By recommendation of a neighbor, I had called a plumber to fix it. He installed some expensive new plumbing which I believe helped stabilize the water pressure, but I was disappointed to discover that it did not fix the fire bell. I called CA Fire Protection and Backflow. The dispatcher was very kind and let me know that a tech would call me ASAP - which they did. Anthony was very friendly and was able to come out within a few days. He made an adjustment to a sensor and voila! Bell fixed. I should have call CA Fire Protection and Backflow much sooner!  Thank you!

Once again, this company has come through to help me out with my strange house situations. Anthony went well beyond what he needed to in order to figure out my water leak at the front of my house, which turned out to NOT be the fire sprinkler system. This review is long overdue. We were told by the water company that our back flow valve needed to be replaced. We called Andy out and he explained to us that as long as the valve passed the back flow testing replacement was not necessary. He even called the water company on our behalf and helped us verify that we had been mis-informed. The total for the replacement was going to be over $6000. Andy could have just replaced the unit and made $6000 and we would have cut the check no questions asked. He spent quite a few hours helping us out and did not charge us a dime!! Andy went above and beyond. He is professional, extremely honest and just a good person. We highly recommend Andy to anyone that is in need of his services!!

We sold our house back in September and one of the issues was that the Fire Sprinklers Covers were painted. Apparently that is a major hazard because they don't operate properly and could fail as a result.  I found California Fire Protection on Yelp and he lived up to previous reviews.  Super responsive, very knowledgeable and was very friendly.  

He was on time for his appointment (never seems to be the case with home repair) and took care of business like a true professional.  In fact, one of sprinklers was giving him problems because it was glued from the foam but he never gave up and ultimately replaced it.  Cost was very reasonable and I'm pretty sure most

Great company and service. I have them do my annual inspections and 5 year inspection on all my sprinkler systems. I also have them inspect and maintain all my fire extinguishers. Andy is very informative and taught me a lot during his routine maintenance. Additionally, it's at a fantastic price point. Being the manager of a business, I need to control my costs. I didn't realize I was getting gouged by metro fire until I started using Andy and his company. We were having a problem with our fire sprinkler alarm bell going off intermittently in the middle of the night for a few months.  We called California Fire Protection, left a message and within 5 minutes Andy called back and scheduled an appointment for Anthony to come out the following morning.  Anthony came out and patiently explained how the system worked and why we were experiencing the issue.  He tested the system and released water from the value in our backyard.  He adjusted the pressure value, which he believes will take care of the problem.  He said if we still have an issue to call him and he will come right back out.  He was here for about 15 minutes and when I asked what we owed him, he refused to charge us!  How often does that happen - almost never!  I would have been happy to pay but we appreciate that he didn't charge us, and more importantly, fixed the problem!!!   Anthony, you ROCK!  Thank you!!  Jamie and Larry
