Boyes Electric is great! The staff is so friendly and they took care of all my electrical needs! Will be recommending them to more of my friends!

So, here's the thing I have not actually had them do anything. After the storms in Oakland, last Thursday I had all kinds of weird electrical issues. I tried to fix it myself for a couple days, but this was way beyond me, so I finally decided to call a proper electrician. I picked these guys basically at random on yelp.

They answered the phone right away,
I described the problems and he says sounds like you have lost a phase.

Before we come out and charge you for anything, call up PG&E, tell them 'you've lost a leg' and have them come out and see what they say

And he was absolutely right. PGE just left and now everything is great.

Anybody who does business by saying before we come out and charge you, here's a possible free solution to check first.
I like businesses who run like that.

So these guys are now and forever my first call for electricians.

I had an appointment for a quote on a major job exceeding $10K. They rescheduled on the same day due to inspection issues on another job, but I was ok with that.

During the actual appointment I was told a lot about permit requirements and plans that were inconsistent with what 2 other electricians told me or proposed. I had the impression that the electrician was not that familiar with city regulations and codes and PG&E policies.

A month later, I also never heard back from this company or received a quote.

I worked with Oscar from Boyes to install a 240 volt box and charger for my EV. Great job, very responsive and supportive!

It's been a while since I had Sal from Boyes come out to quote a full house rewiring project. They provided quick walk through, clear quotation, and even included drywall patching as part of the quote. They were very competitive and actually the most affordable amongst 4 companies I spoke with. Due to some other projects that were coupled I decided to go with another company that could take care of more than just the electrical work.

I kick myself that I didn't go with them for a few reasons. It's been over a year and in that timeframe I have had a few jobs that needed to get done at a few different locations. And I have been able to make a few connections with folks that were also doing projects of various sites.

This is a sign of amazing work you should know and why my next electrical projects without a question I will go to these folks:

1) I walked through a couple large jobs and noticed how neat these electrical panels were routed and how clean their conduit was routed, it was like art. I made a comment to the owner of both projects,  wow this reminds me of a company I almost went with a year ago. What do you know, it was done by these guys! You can recognize quality from afar and they are branding themselves without even leaving signs. What a shame their work gets covered up.

2) I came across a former employee of theirs who is now working with another company on a job for me. We were chatting casually and I was mentioning another job and he without prompting recommended that I consider Boyes. He couldn't speak more highly of the owner and his former coworkers. I think it's a great testament when someone can look back and still say their former employer was amazing. It means they also treat their employees with respect and care.

So here is the summary - Transparent process, clear quotes, competitive price, and amazing quality of work.

You all should put more photos on Yelp so other looking for amazing electricians can see how beautiful your work is! Keep it up. Can't wait to work with you all.

I bought a new Chevy Bolt and Chevy paid to have an EV charger level 2 installed at my house. Qmerit, the company that Chevy contracts with to do the jobs, hired Boyes Electric. They did a great job, got the permit ahead of time, did the installation, and came back on inspection day and waited till the inspector showed up. The charger is working perfectly, the job is very neat, and the installers professional and nice guys too. Highly recommend.

I have had two interactions with Boyes Electric (once in person and once over  the phone).  I have found the character and expertise of this company to be top notch! Their troubleshooting skillset is phenomenal.  I strongly recommend this team!

Our overhead kitchen light started flickering a few weeks ago. I thought it would be a simple fix, so I replaced the light fixture and ensured all connections were tight. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem, so I requested a few quotes from local electricians.

Boyes Electric was able to identify the problem quickly, get repairs scheduled for the next week, and solve the problem. Great, stress-free experience.

I received two separate referrals to Boyes from  friends of mine, so I contacted them to upgrade my service and install a new electrical panel.

The whole process has been flawless and executed very professionally - the person I was in contact with, Sal, answered all my questions, provided me with information to make decisions, handed me an easy to follow quote, and was super friendly as well as knowledgable. They did not try to upsell me on anything (I was initially inquiring about a much larger panel than I need and they told me straight up it's not a good use of my money and unnecessary for my house). Everything happened on the timeline they provided me with, at they dates they said it would. The work is high quality - they know what they're doing. They also made sure to keep everything nice and clean, like they weren't even here.

Would absolutely be using them again for future electrical projects. Thank you Sal and the rest of the Boyes team!

Reading many good reviews from Boyes especially on Sal,    I contacted him for loss of all electrical functions in my oven.     He came out and found my problem is not my oven but what he called the ground circuit interrupter?    He reset it and everything works again.    I am so appreciated for his skill,   he is really a great guy,    it took him less than 20 min and I thought I need a new oven or problem in the circuit breaker panel.     The best part was,   he didn't charge me for the service call.   just a small fee.     Well worth trying him out.     Most company would charge a house call or service call.     It is hard to find a honest man these days.    I also thank Yelp for listing businesses we all need and people we can trust.     5 stars for Yelp and Boyes Electric.

Boyes Electric's crew just completed an electrical panel upgrade at my home, likely dating from the orignial owners in the 1940s! It took two full days , plus an additional day of labeling connections, and awaiting the necessary PGE permit approval  

I got three  estimates for the work.  One was after a one minute (!) estimate visit, and just  $ numbers--no detail.  One was Boyes--same price but with  specficic details of the required work, and options for different level of amp upgrades.  One was a well-reputed electric company that charged TWICE as much. (Did they really want the  job?)

I was super-impressed with Sal Herrera. He is The Man!! He gave an estimate,  taking time to explain the necessary work, options, etc.This was followed a code days later with a detailed written estimate.

Sal is fantastic, and Boyes is lucky to have him.   Not more than 1-2  minutes elapsed between texting him a question, and getting his reply!!   Via email, -I  received replies quickly. Sal's patience has no bounds. The on-site team --Lead / Project Manager Omar,  with Diego and Dylan, and later Antonio, were considerate (shoe covers when indoors), communicated clearly, were easy pleasant to speak with,  and most important, proficient and skilled.

NB:  Perhaps due to holiday hours--making a phone call, I learned the office itself was  not open full time,  so the phone was  not answered immediately by a real person.  If you don't get an immediate reply, I recommend contacting via  Yelp  (request estimate or request callback in addition to leaving a phone message.

When we decided to rewire our 100-year-old house and replace all the knob and tube wiring and the outdated outlets and circuit panel, we did our due diligence and wound up selecting Boyes Electric.  Out of the 5 bids we received, Boyes bid was right in the middle cost-wise.  The reason I give 5 stars to this company has to do with their business approach, putting the customers' needs as a priority.  The month-long project required crews to go all through the house and make dozens of holes in the wall in order to run necessary wires.  George and Carlton were as professional and as gentlemanly as one could wish.  At the end of the day, the work areas were thoroughly cleaned.  At the end of the month, the project was completed as promised.  Working with the Boyes staff, Sal included, was a pleasure.

Just over a year ago I had Boyes come out to assess a problem with some string lighting in my condo I was preparing to sell. Yes, I should've written this review a long time ago.

Their communication was responsive and extremely patient. We ultimately decided to remove the string lighting and replace with a more simplified track lighting option, and the result was better than I could have hoped for. wished I had completely the improvement much sooner, so I could enjoy it longer. But, it was Boyes' ability to explain the problem and provide solutions with ing the parameters I was looking for that brought us to the improved outcome. Without that high-level customer service that made me feel like I was their only customer the resulting product would have been lacking.

A year later, and I am have been working with Borin on a whole range of projects for my new 1972 home. Once again, I feel like I'm their only customer.

Professional and high quality work! I contacted Boyes to run electrical into our firebox because we are converting our wood burning fireplace into gas burning. Needed a power source for the gas fireplace insert. Got a fast and free estimate and the work was done within a week! I also appreciated that they left our home neat/tidy and wore shoe covers. They also put down plastic on the floor where they were working.

Price was very reasonable for the quality of the work and they accept cash, check, zelle or credit card. Very efficient and easy to communicate with-just a well run business all around! Would highly recommend for all your electrical needs!

Highly recommend these folks. Had an outlet that stopped working. They were professional, reliable and fixed the issue quickly. Sal communicated about the time he would arrive and was knowledgeable,  polite and basically super awesome. Recommend!

I called Boyes for an estimate for my project in Alameda.   They asked if I'd prefer a phone call or an in-person visit, I decided in-person and they gave me a date and a 2 hour window, several days later.  The estimator was a no-show after the 2 hours and when I called, they said oh, he must have written my phone number down wrong and decided not to come.  So, they didn't do any work for me but first impressions, attention to detail and customer service were poor.  I waited over 2 hours for those guys to show and decided to go elsewhere.

I needed sconces and pendant lamps installed on walls that had just been papered (I know, my fault for doing projects out of order). I must have spoken to 10 different electricians before speaking to Boyes. 8 of them said, no way, can't be done, the wallpaper will have to be damaged in order to wire. 1 guy gave me hope and said that there may be a couple of options... though never returned my phone call and email to schedule. I was almost ready to throw in the towel. Then I found Boyes. O.M.G. These guys were incredible. When I spoke to Sal on the phone and explained the project, he sounded hesitant but said that he would still come out and take a look. He was responsive when scheduling, showed up on time, super friendly and really took the time to explain the scope and work involved. We scheduled the job a few weeks from that date. Fast forward and Jose and Dylan are here, doing the work. Beyond friendly and courteous. Efficient. Just great guys. Turns out that you can have impossible jobs done such as running wiring behind pre-existing wallpapered walls, people. Pretty easily, in fact. And all at a very fair, competitive price.

Please, save yourself the stress of searching and just go with Boyes. You'll be very happy that you did.

Angel Villasenor did a great job.  I have a rental house in Davis, CA and the tenants damaged 2 outlets.  Angel spent the time examining the existing conditions in regards to grounding, type of wiring, how the outlets are wired to the main circuit breaker...etc.  After careful assessment, he informed me of my options and the costs related to each option.  

When installing the wiring under the house in the crawlspace and replacing the receptacle, he made sure not to damage the hardwood floors and drywall.  I greatly appreciated the care into not damaging the existing wall and floor.

I cannot speak for all technicians of Boyes Electric, but Angel Villasenor did a great job on this repair.  I hope this review helps your decision making.

Brought in Boyes for a whole-house rewiring project.  Really enjoyed working with everyone on their team- from the initial estimate to conclusion of city inspection, everyone was friendly, approachable, hard working, and communicative. I had finally gathered enough electrical projects that I needed a pro, and after reading reviews here I decided to have Boyes come out and give me a quote. I didn't want the cheapest, I wanted the best. That said I think that the quotes that I received from them were reasonable. The work quality was excellent. The workers were considerate, clean, and wore masks (COVID-19) and shoe covers.

Here's what they did for me:

His wires behind two TVs (two new outlets behind tv). Installed hdmi in the wall (also behind the tv).
Installed a new GFCI outlet behind the toilet (for a bidet)
Installed a new NEMA 14-50 outlet in the garage (for charging the Tesla)

Contacted Boyes Electric for a consultation on a commercial property in Oakland measuring 30,000 square feet. On 06/27/2022, they dispatched an agent, Sal. The Sal arrived late. When he arrived on site,  I texted him that I was waiting, and he responded that he was on the phone with a call. I remained patient. He finally examined my panels and informed me he would have a bid within two to three days. I waited for the bid no response. I was required to call the office three times to request that Sal send me a bid. Sal called me after my third call to the office and said he would have it by Monday (it's been three weeks since he arrived for the consultation). Today is Monday, 7/18/22. No bid. It was a waste of my time. If they are unresponsive to submitting a bid, I will not entrust them with the job, as they may also be unresponsive to the job itself.

These guys are amazing. From first contact with Sal, to the installation crew and finalizing all the work with Borin, the customer service and craftsmanship was top knotch.

We hired Boyes Electric to replace our old fuse box with a new 200amp breaker box, add recessed lighting to our living room (including ground rod), install a Nest thermostat to an old furnace, hardwire a Ring doorbell and remove a living room sconce. They're customer service was great, price came in lower than competitors (we got 4 different bids) and they're the only company we talked to who also patched holes! They also went above and beyond diagnosing our Nest thermostat and handled all permits/communication with the city and PG&E, so everything was up to code. They're clean, courteous were by far the best contractors/electricians we've ever worked with.

We'll be using Boyes Electric for all of our future electrical projects, thanks guys!

Polite, professional, somewhat responsive  but may take a couple of days for a call back. When they were were here for inspection/evaluation and follow up repair work they were amazing.  The only complaint is communication by returning phone calls in a timely manner.

Outstanding company. We hired Boyes to upgrade our main panel to 200A and install a new circuit to our kitchen. They responded quickly and provided a fair quote, which was accepted after getting quotes from several other companies. Borin, Sal, and Jose all worked on our project at various times, and they were friendly and professional from start to finish. We had some issues trying to track down PG&E and our solar company to connect the new panel to the existing electrical system but Boyes kept us updated along the way.

The final product was done neatly, cleanly, and professionally. Boyes removed old pipes and wires and the quality of the install was outstanding. They are our new go-to electricians and we cannot recommend them more highly.

I  had Boyes Electric come in today to install slim LED recessed lights in the living room in the vaulted ceiling. I cannot be more pleased! Borin was professional from the start and communicates clearly.

Once he and Dylan got started they taped off with plastic any areas that could get dirty, did the install and then cleaned up afterwards. I would definitely call these guys again if I have any future needs!

I was in desperate need of an electrician on a Friday evening after accidentally cutting some wires I should not have cut.  I called Borin at Boyes Electric and he offered to come out on last minute notice to fix it even though he was in Oakland and would have to drive out to Oakley during rush hour, a horrendous drive during traffic.  

He came over earlier than expected despite traffic and the problem turned out to be a lot easier than it initially seemed.  I asked him to look at another electrical issue on the other side of my house and he was able to fix that too.  He was friendly, personable, and priced fairly, especially considering the time of night he came out.  

I will definitely use him again if I need detailed electrical work done in my house.  He was honest, reliable, and very careful to make sure all work was done correctly.  Call Boyes Electric first before you call anyone else.

The management and crews at Boyes Electric were OUTSTANDING. We had a complete re-wiring and installation of a new sub panel for our 90+ year old house. Our old system was a mix of outdated wiring and knob and tube. The Boyes Electric team were always on time, gave us a detailed itemized list of our services, made great recommendations for added features like closet lighting, ran a clean jobsite , were COVID-safe and ALWAYS courteous! Their estimate was very reasonable and they met their schedule. On top of all that, the work was MINIMALLY INVASIVE, and they successfully saw us through the permit process. We HIGHLY recommend Boyes - they are the best!

I have an apartment that was built in 1960. One outlet started sparking and the fire dept cut outlet and tapped up. Sal come out to fix the outlet and told me that loose outlets can cause a fire so I had him quote total replacement of three units. The quote was fair and I went ahead to replace all outlets. The technicians was on time and professional. They spent 3 days replacing all the outlets. Great team. I will use them again.

Ramon was a pleasure to work with.  Immediately I could tell he knew his stuff and his prices are very competitive.  He is an all around great guy, I can not recommend him enough.  He puts himself in your shoes and is always willing to talk things out and explain pros/cons.  He takes pride in his work and it shows because he is a master of his craft.  

I had a unique situation where I initially had Ramon do a whole house rewire behind drywall.  Then due to finding more problems (mice) I changed the scope to remove all the drywall.  I got to see his impeccable wiring work.  Most contractors would have not taken the time and effort to do clean work behind drywall.  I have had many tradespeople come in and comment how impressive his work is.  I've scheduled more work for him just because his work is so impressive and I want to take advantage before he gets too busy.

5 stars for my experience with Sal and Boyes Electric. Sal came out to assess my electrical job the same day. He was super on point with all the details pertaining to the job. Before he left, he provided me with a rough estimate of what the job would cost. I received the detailed full quote later that same day and they were available to do the work a few days later.

Boyes Electric was fantastic to work with, they replaced my main service panel. Sal, the lead technician, was so easy to work with, excellent communication, the crew was always on time, did a great job and was much less expensive than other quotes I received, highly recommend!

Before contacting Boyes Electric the process of finding an electrician had been frustrating as our project was overbid by one company and our request for information ignored by others. Our experience with Sal and the team at Boyes Electric was professional and pleasant from start to finish. Fabulous service, loved that Borin is local to our area, and his workers are all EXTREMELY polite and conscientious. Would use them again in a heartbeat. Understood we couldn't spend much, and did what they could. Upgraded our system and put in an attic exhaust fan which has really helped with heat.

These guys are amazing! We recently purchased a new home and had some issues with our circuit breaker after moving in. An entire wall in our kitchen went out, leaving us without power for our refrigerator.

While we were able to salvage some of our food via a crafty extension cord, we still needed power back ASAP. We called over a dozen different local Oakland electricians. Most responded too busy, or gave us availability two weeks out. Boyes, however, was able to come over the next day to take a look.

Upon arrival, Omar quickly determined the root issue (a loose wire). He was able to fix the circuit in about 30 minutes, and we're back to normal. Best of all - the final price came a bit lower than their rate, which was already super reasonable.

I can't recommend Boyes enough if you're in need of quick and affordable electric work. Thanks, fellas!

Sal and the team that he sent were all so professional, did a great job and we love the outcome. They cane on time, did exactly the work that we ordered and even secant a technician a few days later to change something that we wanted changed. I was really impressed by Boyes Electric for a Main Panel Upgrade electrical job they completed so that we could install solar. Borin was professional throughout, a good communicator, showed up on time every day, completed the job efficiently, kept everything nice and clean, and even coordinated all our permits with the city and PG&E. He's a pro. The work was high quality and done at a fair price. I recommend him highly.

Ramon and team were outstanding and safe as they wore masks throughout the entire process.

Ramon is easy to communicate with and gave me great electrical advice as I changed my mind half way through the project regarding the recessed lighting in my ceiling. He showed me pictures of the lights that he suggested and now I have 4 smooth and modern looking recessed ceiling lights that look a lot better than I had originally planned.

Ramon was also very informative and clear on the order of events that would take place, meaning when we should paint, schedule inspection etc to work around our required electrical phases. He also did some digging work himself to make sure my conduit was buried correctly after my concrete guy left.

The other thing that made Ramon great is that he was able to respond quickly to my text and phone calls. My other contactors weren't easy to schedule in work as well as Ramon is able to. Ramon was even able to come out to finish our project on Valentine's day, this is an example of how he puts the customer first.

Ramon came out to give us an estimate for low voltage lighting in our yard. We already had an existing system. But it wasn't work. Ramon explained why it wasn't working and gave us options for either repairing it or replacing it. We elected to replace it.

WOW! The work is outstanding. Our backyard is beautifully lit now, bright and welcoming. Ramon did a great job, on budget and in less time then he quoted. The quality of the workmanship is excellent. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Borin is the top tier type of electrician you would want to work with. He is prompt, dependable, clear on communication, clear on expectations, has reasonable prices, and he is friendly, too. He changed out a broken duct system in our house with a solid diagnosis of issues and fast service.

I will be asking for his help again on our next project to add power to another outside unit.

The only reason I'd be hesitant to write a great review is because great people like this get swamped with projects once word gets around. Then how will I get his great work anymore :-)

Update: he worked on another project, this time adding power to a shed in the back. He did excellent work yet again. I will be using Borin and Boyes Electric for all future projects. I've already started personally recommending his services to others.

Clear communications, good work, good price for a fixed fee. Came on time as promised, installed the outlet, did a good job . I realized the outlet was installed upside down, texted them, they came the next day and fixed without an extra charge. Recommended.

I've had the pleasure of working with Borin and his team on a few projects at the end of 2019/beginning of 2020. Borin is really great about explaining the pros/cons and lets you know his recommendations. He's VERY responsive, communicative, and gets the job done on time. I definitely plan on using him for any future work.

These guys were quick and easy to work with. I had a project with a deadline and they were able to make it happen. We put in a power outlet in the back yard for our hot tub.

Sal and his team were courteous, professional, and great communicators from start to finish of our project, which involved replacing our main electrical board with a safer and more powerful one, plus adding an outdoor electrical outlet to plug in our electric vehicle. Scheduling was complicated, because PG&E had to be involved with permits and inspections, and they just tell you when they're coming without any care about when would be convenient for you (who would have thought that a monopoly utility company wouldn't be customer-friendly and work around our needs??). But Boyes did all the back and forth with PG&E for us, kept us in the loop, and tried to keep the inconveniences to a minimum. They also provided us with a generator to keep our fridge and internet running while the main power had to be out while the work was being done. My wife works from home full time, and myself part time, so this was a HUGE lifesaver. Other companies we looked at quoted us for a higher price for the job, and said they'd loan us a generator but charge us extra for it (Boyes included it at no additional charge). Great price aside, I had a good feeling about this company from the first time Sal came out to give us a quote. He explained everything so patiently and didn't try to upsell me or anything, which I truly appreciate as someone who can barely tell one side of a AA battery from the other. I highly recommend, and this will be the first place I call for any electrical work in the future!

I had Boyes move our panel and upgrade the wiring to my kitchen. They gave a fair price and were wonderful to work with. Sal was very kind and responsive, they did exactly what they said they would do, cleaned up after the were finished with the project, and very polite!  The crew wore masks and were also very professional.  I got several estimates, but Sal explained to me what needed to be done, didn't talk down to me and set expectations that were real.  I will definitely use them again and would strongly recommend them for anyone who needs electrical work done!

Borin responded to my Yelp message promptly and coordinated a time for a site visit to provide an estimate. He is very professional, courteous and friendly, and his estimate was by far the lowest I received. I appreciated that he was willing to work with me even though I wanted to do the majority of the work myself. He offered to assemble and install the ceiling fan but I told him I could do that, and just wanted the new switch to be wired.

The day we set up to work was perfect for me, and he gave me a window of between 8:00 am - 12:00 pm to do it in. His associate showed up in the company van first, but told me he had to wait for Borin, who didn't make it until just before 9:00. He did provide a courtesy call to explain that he would be late. I was concerned that this might mean they wouldn't be able to finish on time, but they worked quite efficiently and were done by 11:00. This is despite me having tons of questions about the process, and I have to commend Borin for his patience and knowledge of electrical wiring. He is a great teacher.

There were a couple of small changes to the work as quoted but this did not affect the price. For example, although I had much of the hardware (outlet boxes, switches, etc), and offered to use them, Borin offered (and preferred to use) his own boxes and switches, and we ended up needing to install another 15 Amp circuit in my panel (so that more lighting could be added in the future). Despite these additions, the project cost matched the estimate, which I very much appreciated.

I would definitely work with Boyes Electric again in the future.

We have an old house with mostly knob and tube wiring. Many electricians don't want to deal with it, but once we called Borin we knew we made the right decision. Borin was amazing and super communicative every step of the way. He listens, provides great suggestions, and was always on time. We can't wait to work with him again as we make updates to the rest of our house.

Christopher came and quickly found the problem that had been missed by three HVAC technicians and two other electricians.  He was prompt, reliable and reasonable in his price.

When requesting quotes for a new breaker, wiring, and a NEMA 14-40 outlet, Ramon was one of the fastest contractors on Yelp to respond to my request for quote. His price was on point, his responsiveness on e-mails and phone calls was really fast, and he was very easy to work with. Ramon's work passed inspections without any problem and I got to start using it way sooner than expected.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Boyes Electric even though I didn't use their services.  I had an after hours electrical emergency, and another company referred me to Boyes when they were unable to help me. I spoke with Sal, and even though they were booked up through the week, he talked me through the problem and suggested what to do until I could get an electrician to come out.  That night I was upset and worried about this electrical problem, and Sal took the time to help me come to a temporary solution.  I appreciate such professional and kindness.

Quick reply to first outreach downhill from there.  First the range they gave for my job $350-1250, ended up being estimate for upto $1400.  Second they asked for photos ( better than visit during covid right?) and promised a quote .  Advisor tried to get $125 from me to complete the estimate based on photos he wasn't convinced my requested outlet was possible .  Extortion!!! Finally and worst of all cause well you can't fault a company for trying to keep money coming in during these trying times by hook or crook, he deliberately lied in his email to me over code vs permit process ( either that or this company does not take out permits much) either way if you are still reading this and you haven't clicked out and gone to next company I am afraid I can't help you because you are the type of person who accepts everything a contractor tells you without researching their words.  This company is perfect for you then.

Borin was...in a word...excellent! We hired him to relocate an existing 30A outlet for our new laundry room. He always followed up with me promptly and was friendly, kind and patient throughout our project. Though we started out with his original recommendation for scope of work, he was open to listening to my (many) ideas for alternative approaches and we ended up finding a different way to get the job done that saved me some money. He also tacked on a bit of troubleshooting at the end of the job on a totally unrelated project without really charging me, which was totally unnecessary, but as became a theme with him...extremely customer service oriented and very graciously appreciated. His work was extremely tidy, thorough and meticulous yet efficient. He had to cut holes in the floor and drywall, but tacked everything back together before he left- totally unexpected, very professional and totally clean. Very nice job and we will definitely be calling him and his crew again for our next electrical project! Thank you Borin!!

We got to know Borin Reyes, a partner who started this company, as he was fixing our defective switch. He is warm, friendly, trustworthy and a very interesting man. He has great energy; he's positive and this history and evolution of his company's growth is a testament to his intellect, adaptability, motivation and perseverance.

I'm glad they did the work.  They connected my switch outlet to the new recessed lighting that I installed.  The work was quick and they did a great job.  Enjoyed chatting with the technician while he was doing the work.  Very friendly.  They are reasonably priced and alot cheaper then 3 other electricians that I got a quote from.  The other electricians quoted me at least 2x more than what Boyles quoted me for.

Borin came out the next business day after contact. The work was minor (GFCI and thermostat) but it was so nice to have someone come out on short notice and take the time out of their busy schedule, especially at this time of year to do a small job and do it at a great price.
I wish all contractors were this good. Also nice to see someone based in Oakland.

One of my Circuit Breakers tripped, and would not reset ,so part of my home was in the dark. I immediately solicited quotes from yelp and Boyes Electric  was not only one of the first to respond, but was able to set an appointment window for the next day as well. Let me start out by saying Ramon from Boyes Electric was one of the first electricians to contact us regarding our electrical projects, which we had been putting off for the past several years. I very much appreciated the fact Ramon came to our home, (arrived earlier than the appointed time) explained what he would be doing for each install / repair. I'm a general contractor and just finished another project with Boyes Electric. This was a large, whole house remodel. Borin's flexibility to meet deadlines, come up with creative solutions and recommend products is second to none. Borin has helped me with several home improvement projects starting 2 years back. I've impressed by his professional skill, thoughtfulness on the project as well as the cleanness of the work area after the job. He helped me to install ceiling home theater speakers for two rooms, adding several new outlets in bathroom for bidet and closet as well as ceiling recessed lights for 3 rooms. If yelp allowed 10 stars, Borin and his team would have them. I cannot speak highly enough of Boyes. From the initial request to discuss needs and pricing, Borin responded to our inquiry within minutes (on a weekend). We had a visit planned within a few days. Borin was prompt, thorough, and incredibly clear on a work plan. We purchased an older home that hadn't had electric touched since 1940. Original main meter with only 60amps of service, not even sufficient for common day appliances (and looked like a horror film). In fairness, our timeline to have permits submitted, approved, and work completed was beyond aggressive (since we are attempting to complete all improvements on the home before move in, a total period of about 3 weeks). Somehow despite the holiday season and a full schedule of other projects, Borin and his team made this happen for us. They were there everyday, exactly when they said they would be, working non stop to upgrade our home. The work was meticulous, clean, and well planned. Jose and Omar even went so far as to mop up dust in areas where holes had been cut, not to mention occasionally entertain our toddler (who liked to interrupt). The inspector even commented how precise the work was (considering the city power company has exact ideas about how they want the outside lines to look). Neighbors have also stopped by to note what an excellent job was done. We will without question be calling Borin for all electric needs. Absolutely excellent.
