Zero STARS from us! Horrible service and very unprofessional! Our water heater tank had a leak and this is the first time that we had to deal with something like this. We called around to three places just to try and get the best quote, possibly one that is affordable due to our financial situation. So, we ended up calling Benitez Plumbing in Fresno because their price mentioned over the phone was affordable for us. Then, I decided to choose them and requested them to come and check it for $69 (per price mentioned on phone). The plumber's name is Mike who came over by himself to provide us service. We let him through our garage door and had him check the issues. After looking around, he informed my mom that he will have to move the heater out from the wall. She asked him how much would that cost and then he replied to her that, It cost money and I'll tell you later but then proceeded to move the tank anyways. He continued to replace 3 items that costed over $200 without prior approval first nor proper receipt explaining in writing each prices of the items. After he's done with everything without approval, he then told my mom that the total cost is $550. My mom's heart sank and said why so much? Then, he mentioned the breakdown of the pricing to her after it was completed, which included: $300 for pulling out the heater, $69 for coming out for inspection, and $181 for parts and labor! She was very upset and felt that he misled her by not informing her ahead of time that it would cost $300 to just pull out the heater tank. Honestly, I've never heard of this and doesn't seem legit at all! My mom ended up paying $350 the day of service and owed $200. Then, he came back the next day to do some more work and left us with no hot water to use and also gas leak was found by the new plumber who came and inspected later. I spoke to Mike regarding the unprofessional service mentioned by my mom. Mike then argued with my mom in front of me saying I did tell you, you said OK. Knowing my mom, she wouldn't even let them even touch the water heater if it's going to cost us $300 just to pull it out by himself. Took him less than 5mins to pull out the tank and the price was outrageous. But, the main issue here is that he misled us and failed to provide us with proper details prior to service and done other services not requested by owner. After he argued with my mom about the situation, I told him that I don't want his service anymore. As he proceeded to leave, the other worker who came along with him demanded the rest of $200 be paid. Also, he mentioned to us, Feel free to take us to court. How can he be trusted to do other work if he's not even honest with his service since the beginning? I didn't know what else to do at this point and wanted to stop this bad service from reoccurring elsewhere, so I decided to write this review to hear other perspectives. Then, I called his manager(Jesse) and tried to explain the situation to him, but failed to get any further help after the fact. I'm so disappointed that we paid that much already and still nothing was completed. I mentioned to the manager what happened to providing good customer service/satisfaction and he didn't seem to care about what i said. Then, he mentioned to me, Go ahead and take us to court, but you'll have to pay the price. Very poor customer service and the problem still not fixed. I will never go there again for service.
