I had a hot water Heater problem:  Called my homeowners warranty Co. (AHS) and they send out Grace Plumbing The Tech arrived on time.   Checked out the problem which was the electrical control center was bad and needed to be replaced.  It was Friday PM and he had to order a part from the company Bradford White which is in Michigan the part arrived Tuesday late and I scheduled to have it installed Thursday am 1st appointment.  They showed up on time btw I got a 30min heads up phone call.
The tech finished the work and all is well.   Thanks jg

I put in a service request with AHS and shut off my water because of a burst hot water heater, 3 days later had not heard anything from Grace Plumbing, called them and left voicemails which were never returned.  I finally had to call AHS to get a conference call with Grace Plumbing to schedule a service time -- they claimed they had called me several times and left voicemails, but I had no record of those missed calls or voicemails on my cell.

When I finally did get a service appointment, the technician was only there maybe 10 minutes.  He took several photos of the water heater (which was 12 years old, just died from old age/normal use, and gushing water out the side) with his tablet, called AHS, and then told me that it needed replaced (obviously, I knew that 3 days ago) but it wouldn't be covered under the warranty because it was outside and exposed to the elements (correction - it was underneath a 6-ft deep covered patio, and right next to the house.  Water heaters being outside is common among historic central Phoenix homes such as mine.  It was NOT exposed to the elements, rain or hail was never able to touch it).

Of course, for his 10-minute expert and professional work, I was still out the $75 service fee.

The technician provided me with a quote for replacing the water heater outside of AHS coverage, for $950+ ... I went to Lowe's and got a new one for $450 and my Dad installed it.

Bottom line - terrible service, obviously they are trying to rip you off and get out of making valid repairs.  They're cheap and unethical - stay away.  Request a different service vendor from AHS.

Stay FAR AWAY from this company.  If you have American Home Shield, like us, I feel sorry for you since you will have no other choice but to work with these guys.  Forget about service, forget about techs showing up on time or even calling to let you know they are running late.  This is our 4th warranty issue where we've been forced to use this company and each time they get worse!  Currently we are 3 weeks into a water heater replacement.  1st tech says it needs to be replaced, leaves and never comes back.  Find out days later that he is no longer with company and of course dispatch never called to reschedule a new tech.  2nd tech comes out WITHOUT water heater to assess the job and confirms it needs to be replaced.  He then  leaves and never comes back.  Guess what - days later I find out he is no longer with the company either.  To add some comic relief, the restoration guy comes to test the wall for secondary water damage, rips apart the wall and I still don't even have a water heater or an insurance claim for tear out!  What the???.  Plan to sit on hold for 20 minutes if you want to talk to a live person, and then when you do - they won't have any answers for you anyway.  I won't even go into the very suspicious extra charges they quoted us - that AHS said were not accurate.  These guys have had their BBB revoked due to 20 complaints filed.  Avoid at all costs!

Worst. Company. Ever.

If there were a way to give ZERO stars, I would.  I have been working with Grace Plumbing and Faith Restoration (same company)  since Thanksgiving of 2012 to complete water damage done to my rental property.  It is estimated to be completed in 2 weeks.  The contractors are moved from place to place without being allowed to complete their work, and the administrative staff are some of the most mean and cruel individuals I have ever met.  They bully for payment of incomplete work and cuss and say mean things about you to your face.  They do not maintain their scheduling and don't care about any imposition they place on you or your tenants.

I use Yelp to say nice things, but felt strongly that I needed to hold up the BEWARE sign here.  I have spent time crying over this place, and want to save you the pain.

Stay FAR FAR AWAY from this company! I too have American Home Shield. We found out we had a hot water slab leak. They sent Grace out and the tech had no idea what he was doing, he showed up on a Monday and then had to make a second appointment which wasn't until the following Thursday to come out. After speaking on the phone with another tech who knew what he was doing he confirmed the hot water leak and then scheduled to come out the FOLLOWING Wednesday (10 days after the initial service call). I was the first on the schedule for the particular plumber and they were supposed to show up to jack hammer and find the leaking pipe between 8-12 in the morning. I called at 9 because I hadn't heard form anyone. After waiting on hold for 30 min the scheduler said the tech's window was between 8-12 and they would call 30 min before. At 11:20 I got a call from the scheduler saying the tech called in sick?!??! Are you kidding me? If I was the first one on the techs schedule and he was supposed to show between 8-12 don't you think they would know he called in sick earlier than 11:20. Then they told me they couldn't get someone out to my house until 9pm the following day? SO, they were going to come and jackhammer my tile at 9pm on Thursday when I have a 4 month old baby and 3 year old. What? Not only that I took the day off work. I then asked to speak with a manager, the scheduler said there was no manager in the office, she didn't know the managers name. ALl she could do was transfer me to voice mail. I left a message for the manager and called AHS. The representative at AHS tried to call Grace and also got voicemail. She finally after multiple attempts got a manager to call her back at which point the manager said they would call me back to schedule a decent time to come on Thursday. After waiting another hour with NO call I called the scheduler back -- she didn't have me on the schedule had no idea what was going on. I left another VM for the manager who FINALLY called me back at 4:30. I said you better get someone out to my house tomorrow during the day to fix this leak its been 10 days since the original date of service. He put me on hold and said they could get someone there in the morning. THURSDAY morning: Two guys show up and have no idea where the leak it, they fiddle around and try to figure out what to do for an hour and 30 min. They finally start jackhammering to find the leak. After FIVE hours and a lot of breaks they find the leak at which point they look at their watches and say its 4:30 we have to go. I said aren't you going to fix the pipe? The plumber says are you going to pay me overtime?. Are you kidding me? The earliest they could come out is today (Monday). We have had NO hot water since Wednesday, its 2:30 and Im still waiting for them to show up to fix the damn pipe. This company is a NIGHTMARE and a JOKE. I will be writing a letter to AHS and will be canceling my service with AHS for contracting with this company. STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY!!!

I had Grace assigned to me by American Home Shield.  If I was to try to write a script for the absolute worst service a plumbing company could provide, I couldn't write one as bad as the service I have been provided by Grace.  From the plumber to the scheduler to the management that doesn't even return messages left on the designated manager's extension; all have been undependable, unresponsive and often times downright rude.  This service has been so bad that it has compelled me to write the first unsolicited review I have EVER written on-line about any company.  If you have a choice, don't choose Grace!

Watch these folks because they gouge you.  Water Heater replacement and they told me I needed a permit from the city and it would cost me $180.  When I checked with the city of Scottsdale I found the actual charge was $44.  The tech never told me I could get the permit online.  They are real rip-off artist.  They also want you to use their affiliate company for water damage repair.  I was furnishing the new water heater and they wanted $750 to install it?  Come on.  Filed a complaint with the BBB on these folks.

American Home Shield dispatched Grace Plumbing for a water heater problem in my home. They called the next day to schedule an appointment with the technician and offered their next available time at noon-4 on Tuesday, December 10th. I was told the technician would call when they were 30-60 minutes out. I took 5 hours off from work, so I could be home.  By 5:30, the technician or company never called. I called and spoke with Joe. He said they were running behind but I was still on the schedule. At 8:57 PM, I have not received a call or technician.

I wouldn't have been bothered if they would have called and kept me in the loop or asked to reschedule since they were helping other customers. I understand and would have respected them more to have that much customer focus.  However, this was not the case.

I lost 5 hours of work and received no service. I am completely dissatisfied with Grace Plumbing.

This is NOT a Christian run Company.  I had the unfortunate experience first hand of one of their drivers who thought nothing of cursing my Daughter & I out . We had just come out of Church and it was okay to turn R until the Grace driver decided to speed up. It was not even a brake stopper. He made a U turn and met us at the red light and it was NOT pleasant listening to him swear and waving his hands out the window. Google the Owner Everett Higginbotham  and make sure you read ALL the reviews before hiring them. BEWARE!

Been blowing off a job for 8 months.  They say they will come and finish and never do.  Harassing customers to pay when they haven't finished the job.  Doesn't seem right.  Avoid this company at all costs!

Do not use Grace Contracting/Plumbing.  They were dispatched to us, unfortunately, through our home warranty.  they came and fixed the issue, but they were unresponsive to emails and calls requesting an invoice for the work that they completed.  Lance, who we were working with, was virtually impossible to get a hold of. We had to call them 3 days in a row to get a hold oft them and what we needed.

On a separate occasion, we contacted them for another repair.  we were told that it was completed and it was not.  When we contacted Lance, he didnt know anything about the repair not being done and we now have to contact another company to complete the repair.

I would give them 0 stars if that was an option.

Do NOT use Grace Plumbing.  If your home warranty assigns them to you, ask for another.  Grace came out to replace our garbage disposal .... and didn't finish the job.  They didn't tighten the hose to the dishwasher - when we ran the dishwasher, it flooded our kitchen.  Once WE fixed that problem and ran the dishwasher, the dishwasher never drained.  The Grace plumber never knocked out the drain plug - again creating another thing we had to fix.

I have AHS and they use this company unfortunately, eveytime they come out to my house they find some way to increase the cost instead of fixing the problem they were called out to fix, it is a nightmare dealing with them every time and they put the job off.

I have read the reviews and I would say the negative reviews are more accurate.  This is my experience with this company... I have AHS and called in a service request to have my gas water heater fixed.  One week later and my water heater is still not working (keeps turning off).  So far Grace plumbing has been out for service two times and now I have had to schedule a third appointment.   Each time myself or my wife has taken it upon ourselves to call them for the return appointment since if we waited for them we probably would wait till Christmas.  Now if my company failed to repair something not once but twice I would be extremely embarrassed and would make that 3rd attempt a priority.   Not so with this company. The soonest that they scheduled for their 3rd return visit for the same problem was two business days later.   This company is a joke and AHS is just as irresponsible for using this company.   I have called AHS twice to complain and my voice goes unheard.  The only way to help other potential victims is to write this review.  If you have a choice ...Do Not Hire Grace Plumbing!  If I could give negative stars I would.  I am still waiting on the third visit and after reading the past posts on this company I expect them to try to push some unwanted or unneeded charges (disposal of old unit/paperwork permit fee).  I already let the customer service rep know that I was not going to be sold into these fees.  Over one week has passed... 2 completed visits and a third scheduled and my water heater is no closer to being repaired/replaced than when I started.  After this experience  I am going to file a complaint with the BBB.  Shame on Grace Plumbing and shame on American Home Shield (AHS).

THE FOLLOWING REVIEW WHICH I COPIED FROM AN EARLIER YELP POST BY NYMETS ON 10/18, WAS EXACTLY TO THE SCRIPT I WAS HANDED BY GRACE ON SUNDAY.

I HAD PARKER AND SONS DO THE INSTALL.

ONLY PROBLEM..AHS WILL ONLY GIVE ME $258 TOWARDS THE $950 INSTALL AND I NEEDED TWO WATER HEATERS.

AHS IS A RIP OFF AND GRACE CAME THISCLOSE TO THE LINE, WITHOUT CROSSING IT.

Let us pray - you don't use Grace!

First item out of the technicians mouth - hope we don't have the M word. Mold.  Oh, by the way we also have a company that does water removal/cleanup and your home warranty will cover it.  Approx 3-4K, yet my deductible is 1K.  I chose to remove the 2ft x 2ft drywall in front of the water heater, remove the insulation and air dry.  Problem solved.

AHS will cover the water heater and labor to install.
Non warranty items from Grace totaled $835.  One must ask themselves, how is this possible.

Grace Plumbing non warranty details:
- New drain Pan and pipe going outside ($285).
- Temperature relief pipe must be slightly sloped ($190).
- Drip leg needed off of gas line ($186).
- Dispose of old water heater ($125)

Lowes Plumbing details:
- New drain Pan and pipe going outside ($20). New pan placed underneath water heater.  My option to run line later.  Grace said this would void warranty.
- Temperature relief pipe must be slightly sloped ($0).  When hooking up new pipe, just need to angle down - part of install.
- Drip leg needed off of gas line ($0).  Not required in Phoenix.
- Dispose of old water heater ($0)

Whirlpool gas furnace options:
6yr - $430
9yr - $540
12yr- $640

Labor $280 + $85 parts.  Any parts not needed, you return to Lowes for a refund (mine was $35).

Basically, I had a complete install of a 9yr Gas water heater for $920.  I asked for a cash option with AHS, which will cover the complete amount.

do not use at any cost. these people portray themselves to be a Christian based plumbing service. they are an incompetent bumbling plumbing service. they have come to my house several times to fix plumbing items......I have had to take off work several days....they didn't know what they were doing. I will not let them back in my house.

if AHS tries to tell you they are using them....Suggestion: ask for another company. do not let Grace mess-up a bad situation and make it worse.

STAY CLEAR

I absolute will NEVER use Grace Plumbing ever.  They were called to repair an emergency plumbing issues and confirmed they would be on their way, within a certain timeframe.  They did not call me back until almost 11PM telling me they were on their way.  At which time I informed them I was in bed.  They stated I would be their first call the next morning, then neglected to contact me for 2 days.  I had multiple communications with there office and the warranty company before they came to repair the emergency.  I could not use my bathroom for 2 days until they finally arrived, (after several calls) for initial repair.

They show up and my disaster becomes worst.  They were to repair a plumbing leak and immediately started telling me the possibility of mold being present, but they could inspect and repair the damage.  Fortunately for me, they are also part of Faith Restoration, and they can have the damage repaired and back to normal within 3 to 4 days.  I agreed to have them inspect the damage, it is now 8PM at night, and within the hour I have 3 technicians bringing huge blowers to dry the wall before they can cut into the wall to see if mold exist.  Suffice it to say, I was a frantic mess and concerned about the possibility of mold being blown throughtout the house

They promise to return the next morning at 9:00AM, and never arrive, by that evening and after far too many excuses I finally ask that they remove their blowers, informing them I would seek help with another company; all of this happened during Christmas holidays when my home is full of guest and I am unclear as to if I will have these blowers in my home, or a hole in the ceiling or God knows what else and for how long.

They don't return to remove the blowers for yet another day.  Then after a week, and me having repairs initiated and completed by another company, have the nerve to send me a bill for approximately $1800 for my cancellation due to IMPATIENCE, for the cold air that they blew in my home for two days.  I am appauled at their business ethics and plan on escalating this matter as far as possible.  I would NOT recommend this company.

I had issues with our hot water heater.  The hot water was inconsistent.  So, we called our homeowners warranty (total protection), they sent Grace.  The tech arrived on time, checked and found we had an element issue.  Replacement and off he went.  1 week later, we had the same issue of inconsistent hot water.  We call the homeowner warranty again, they sent out Grace.  Visit #2, the same tech replacement the temperature controls on the top and bottom.  Cool, we had HOT water.  1 week later, our entire garage was flooded.  It took them 2 days to get here, so the we incurred damages in the stand that the water heater sits on and the 2 walls.  They sent another tech this time.  The warranty company covered a new water heater, but I paid out of pocket $500 for fees, a tray, etc.  =(  Then I paid an additional $500 for my home insurance to replace the walls.  We were not suppose to be out of hot water during this time, guess what?  The new water heater was not working, I called Grace back the same day around 5pm.  All they said was all the tech has gone for the day.  They will get out there first thing tomorrow.  We did not see a tech until 11am.  I HAD to work from home that day, I couldn't go to work without a shower!  EK!  The tech found out the the heat elements in the new water heater were already burnt out. =(  What a cluster fxck!

A quick summary: So far 4 FULL days wasted, completely unprofessional and unreliable. Stay far away.

As most of the other Yelpers have indicated, stay AWAY from Grace Plumbing. My boyfriend has a separate home warranty company, and the home warranty company sent out Grace Plumbing for a water heater issue. An appointment was set for Friday, so my boyfriend took off work to be there during the very wide appointment window. He even called on Friday to double check he was on the books and the technician was coming out - Grace receptionists confirmed this. He waited all day, and all night Friday, and they NEVER showed up.  An entire day and work day wasted. He had to reach out to them Saturday morning, and they finally got someone over to his house by about 1pm on Saturday, and they determined the water heater needed to be replaced, but he'd need a separate appointment. ANOTHER day wasted. The appointment was scheduled for Wednesday, with an 11-3 window. Another day taken off work. He called again to double check everything was set up correctly, and the receptionist confirmed. At 2:30 the technician called to say he was 30 minutes out. And then, he did not show up until 7:15 pm! When he arrived, he did not have a replacement water heater and had no idea what he was arriving for. He said he'd need to go back and get the supplies and water heater, and that he'd be back real quick. We called the technician after he had left to be sure he was coming back and he said he was. Well, he NEVER came back. That is where we are at right now, 3 days wasted so far, with another certainly wasted as well, and that's only if it gets fixed. At this point, this business should be reported to the better business bureau and home warranty companies should not be doing business with them. I am not an angry consumer looking to call out everyone. My Yelp reviews show way more positive reviews than negative, but this is just totally out of hand.

I put in a service request via American Home Shield on Saturday and Grace Plumbing was assigned.  When I hadn't heard from them by the time another AC issue also put in on Saturday had already resulted in a completed repair on Monday, I tried several times to call them but I could not get to a human being even though on the third call I was allegedly first in line in the queue.  After also seeing the Yelp reviews and their F rating from the BBB, I cancelled the service request and called in a new one that was assigned to another company.

Scam business operation. I have AHS as well and when we had a leak they scheduled Grace to come out.

The tech who came out immediately started telling us how bad the damage was, how the existing plumbing was all wrong and would have to be redone, how the flooring would have to be torn up in order to properly fix. He wanted to get started right away on such a large scale job and was very assertive that we not get any second opinions.

No way. We got multiple opinions from other plumbing companies through our primary insurance and nobody else corroborated the story concocted by Grace plumbing. In reality it was a fairly easy solution that required no drastic reconstruction and none of our existing plumbing was installed wrong.

Our primary insurance agent through American Family had heard similar instances to our encounter about Grace and it certainly appears that they are taking advantage of their referrals through AHS to be deceptive and fraudulent.

For any major job always get a second opinion no matter who the company is but Grace went out of their way to try and rip us off.

HORRIBLE BUSINESS!

They scheduled to come out twice to my location for a job. Both times they confirmed the day before and I called back to confirm the day of, and yet the still didn't show up ..... BOTH times!!!
Finally a third time appointment, they showed up.  They were very unprofessional and rude, ended up doing extra unneeded work and charged bogus amount. And worst of all, they left in the middle and said they had to come back the next day to finish.  Well, needless today, I called it off the next day contacted a reputable real plumbing service company to finish up what they started.  I paid them less, they were very professional, respectful and thorough.  Grace plumbing is seriously a joke.  Save your money and time, go with a real plumbing company.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE CROOKS!!!
I am writing on behalf of my mother who had her water heater replaced by Grace Plumbing. It was arranged by American Home Shield. What should have been a $60 service fee turned out to be over $1,000.00

Grace plumbing was notified on a Friday and didn't come out until the following Tuesday. Meanwhile, the water heather continued to leak causing water damage to the garage wall as well as the interior dining room wall. Not giving my mother an estimate of the repairs, it wasn't until all the work was completed that they handed her a bill for $1,016.00. When she contested they threatened to remove the water heater. They over charged her on many items, one being $235 for a drip pan that can be had at Home Depot for $21.

It is really unfortunate that companies like this exist, praying on the elderly. I know a lot of people are being referred to Grace Plumbing through AHS. What ever you do, do not let them near your home!!!

Worst Experience ever in getting a Water Heater replaced through AHS.  Grace Plumbing charged me $185 for a drip pan stating it was mandatory by code.  However, the tech code not tell me with the code changed.  After seeing it with the hot water heater, very disappointed.  I paid $185 for a $20 piece of plastic.  Plus they charged us another $125 for a Temp/Pressure Line Adjustment....didn't have to pay this before either.  Then I find out that he drained the old tank on my drive way leaving rust stains for us to clean up.   Additionally, when the tech came by 2 days prior, he did not mention having to have certain items moved or we would be charged extra for him to mover them.  Instead, he arrived about 15 minutes ahead of schedule and told my son this.  I looked on BBB after all is said and done just to find out their accreditation was revoked in April 213....no surprise there.  I have mentioned to my husband that from now on, I think we need to look BBB and customer reviews for contractors sent out by AHS.

The worst, I repeat the WORST company in terms of customer service, satisfaction, and punctuality.  Numerous times I have had to deal with them even when I told my Home Warranty Company (AHS), to please not send them anymore!  There's nothing I can do, I've had to use them 3 times and every time I have either had the plumber break a pipe and spray water, quote me the wrong estimate, tear apart my wall without properly putting it back...DONT FIND YOURSELF IN THE SAME SITUATION AS I DID.  Again, this didn't happen once, it happened 3 different times!

I am more than livid at this company and it's professionalism.

If I could choose no star, I would.  Grace Plumbing was assigned to us by American Home Shield, our home warranty company.  For three weeks now, we've been somewhat patiently waiting for them to replace a commode in our guest bathroom due to a crack in the tank.  First, the clerk, Jessica sounds like she's utterly exhausted every time I talk to her and offers excuses like, 'yeah, we're really busy', 'oh, I don't know, maybe he forgot'. During the first visit, the plumber replaced the internal parts that made the commode run constantly, but overlooked the cracked tank, so it continued to leak. During the second visit a week later, he determined there was a crack and would need to replace the tank, but since it was out of date and a certain height, he'd have to replace the whole commode, so he took the old one with him. Third visit during the weekend, he brought the new commode and it was too tall to fit under the counter ledge. When I don't hear anything from him or the company for 4 days, I call and the tired receptionist says, oh, okay, are you ready to schedule your install? Mike said all he needed was for me to put you on the schedule, but I don't have anything available until the end of the week. So, of course, I asked why she hadn't called me to put us on the schedule. Her reply, yeah, I'm sorry, we're just really busy and I just got the note this morning and I thought you were going to call me. You must be kidding me! At this point, I asked for the Manager's name and extension, because, of course, he was busy at that moment and out of the office the next time I called. I left a message on Manager Rocko's voice mail and Jessica was supposed to personally handed him a note asking him to call me. That was last week. Do you think he's called me? No, of course not. Today, the plumber was supposed to be here at 10 am with the right commode. At 10:30, Jessica calls to say, 'I'm sorry. Our plumber just called in sick, so I'll have to reschedule your appointment, but the good news is he's on call this weekend, so would it be convenient for you if he came on Saturday? I don't mind telling you, I was livid. I'll spare you the details of my response. Another appointment is now set for Friday at 10 am.  This complaint will be forwarded to the Manager, Rocko as well as the owner, Everett Hickenbotham, every online outlet I can find, the Better Business Bureau and the Plumbers union.  This is ridiculous.

Nearly 8-9 weeks ago I opened up a claim with AHS to have various plumbing issues in my home resolved.  To date these issues are still ongoing.
Let me start from the beginning sometime very early June.
Visit #1:  A week and a half after I filed the claim through my warranty company was my first appointment.  The plumber was to come to my home between the hours of 1-5.  I left work early to ensure I would be home during the time frame.  Do you think the plumber came; NO he should up at 6:15 pm on a Friday night.  The plumber came and looked around and let me know he did not have the parts necessary to complete the job and he would have to order them.  He was outside on the phone for an hour with the warranty company obtaining authorization to work on my home.  WHY WAS THIS NOT DONE BEFORE HE CAME TO MY HOME, WHY WASTE MY TIME.  Any way I am a forgiving person, next visit I will have my plumbing issues fixed (or so I thought).
Visit #2: Another 2 weeks have passed since the last plumber came to my home, and guess what I was told, the Plumber #1 never ordered to parts.  Plumber #2 ordered the parts; however I need to make another appointment. Oh I almost forgot to mention I was again told a time frame and I took time off of work again.  My plumber never showed up until you guessed it after 6.
Visit #3: I finally received the parts 8 days later; my appointment time was between 8-1 this time.  I learned my lesson; I was going to get an early appointment so they would be no reason for them not to come on time.  Well let me start off by saying at 1 o'clock I received a call from the plumber stating that we will be to my home in an hour.  It is now 3 o'clock I called him back and said where are you?  His response oh they did not call you, I was sent to another job, I will find out what is going on and I will call you right back.  It is now 5 o'clock I have not heard from you, you said you were going to call me back?  His response oh they did not tell you, I do not think anyone is going to your home today.  Okay, that was it, I lost it, I immediately called the home warranty company to make them aware of the situation.  So out of the blue at 8:30 pm I received a call, we are on our way and will be at your home in an hour.  WHAT??? Are you out of your mind, I am feeding my family and putting my kids to bed.  How about to tomorrow morning?
Okay they come tomorrow morning first thing no problem, out of the 4 plumbing issues, 2 were resolved.  I was told Plumber #2 ordered the wrong part.  REALLY!!! So I was told by Plumber #3 her ordered the part and when I receive it schedule an appointment.
Okay I will skip to the point, long story short 3 additional weeks have past and I found out Plumber #3 never ordered the part.
I left several messages for the manager during this time period, and not one of my calls to date has been returned.  NOT ONE!!
Finally I reached someone Felicia with some sort of competency, she tried to help me but not very successful.
Visit #4:  Today, is Felicia's attempt to make things right.  I was to be the first appointment of the day (as she appeared sympathetic to the countless times I left work early and no one bother to show up during the scheduled times and 9 weeks have pasted and I am still without a shower and a working sink.)
I expected Plumber #4 at my home today around 8 am.  At 8:30 I called and again at 9:30, I was finally told Plumber #4 is not answering his phone nor is he responding to emails so they are sending someone to his house to check on him.  I do not wish to hear that anything is wrong with Plumber #4, but at this point the problems that Grace Plumbing has with its employees should not be my problems.
Still today it is now 11:30 am, I received a call stating someone is on the way to my home to FINALLY fix my shower and sink (I was told they would get the parts from the supply store themselves and I would not have to wait for the parts to come in the mail) an hour has past and still no one.  Stay tuned - they are not off to a good start.

ok final entry,  Plumber #4 called my phone it rang once as I answered he hung up.  I texted him back you called so I assumed you are on your way  his response simply NO  he then responded you did not answer so you need to reschedule.  Last straw I will suck up the $125 investment and call another company.  I let them know there services were no longer needed.

I posted a review about Grace Plumbing and another company they own, Faith Restoration (which uses a cross as their symbol), about 2-1/2 years ago.  Just to follow-up, I was cashed out by  AHS and they sent B Green Plumbing to my home.  B Green re-routed my hot water through my attic (which Grace had told me could not be done) with very few issues.  They had to remove drywall in a couple of areas.  The cash-out through AHS pretty much covered all the costs.  With Grace I was looking at thousands and thousands of dollars, and they wouldn't give me a date when the work would be finished.  In the meantime,my kitchen and laundry room would not have been unusable.    My homeowners insurance was involved in everything, but in the end I did not need to file a claim.  If you have AHS, please do not let them send Grace Plumbing to your home.  If you check their status with the BBB you will see that they are under investigation.

I also have AHS home warranty service. I was extremely concerned after I called in my service request when I checked on here to read about the company that was going to be sent to my house. Let's just say I expected the worst.

Then the plumbing issue in my house turned from something that could be put off for a day or so into something that was considered an emergency. I called Grace Plumbing first and they recommended that I call AHS and have the service call upgraded to emergency status. I did just that. Within 40 minutes Todd from Grace Plumbing was at our door, which just happened to be 10:30 at night.

He got started right away and my husband and I helped him look for the main sewer line in our yard. But we couldn't find anything. We figured it was covered in rocks. So Todd said that he would come back first thing in the morning. We were left without water in the house, the use of our toilets or showers. It was a rough night but at 8:15 a.m. Todd showed up at our door again! I had found the main line plug in our yard early that morning and pointed it out to him when he got there.

He backed his truck into our driveway and immediately started in on the problem! Everything was fixed within an hour. He even went and snaked one of the drains in the tubs to make sure everything was crystal clear in the pipes! Todd showed us tips for next time, what to look for, instructed us on the best way to clean the tubs and toilets after the mess, etc. His overall demeanor was extremely pleasant and helpful.

I have no idea what other yelpers are talking about. This company was awesome! I'm glad AHS sent them out. Even the woman on the phone who answered the after-hours calls was pleasant. We couldn't have asked for more.

Thanks Grace Plumbing!!

The worst, I repeat the WORST company in terms of customer service, satisfaction, and punctuality.  Numerous times I have had to deal with them even when I told my Home Warranty Company (2-10 Home Warranty), to please not send them anymore! They NEVER fixed the leak on my 2nd level laundry room - turned on the water and it overflowed after 4 days - cherry cabinets and flooring ruined - they sent a mold tech to turn on his blowers and humidifier - my cabinet is ruined and now THEY ARE DISPUTING.  Buyers 2-10 said there is nothing they can do I have tried everyone at company and never received one call!! I plan to contact BBB & Channel 3 and Channel 12 for help in getting this resolved.  PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY -

I will NEVER call on them again !!
A repairman (Mike) came to my house last week to look at my kitchen sink and my water heater in the garage.
When he came in, he was on one of his cell phones and while on his cell phone he asked in a rude way, Why am I here today ? He never said HELLO my name is,,,,,
When I showed him the kitchen sink and what was broken he said that he needed to go back to his truck to get his flash light (while still on his cell phone). When he came back in, he looked under the sink and said, Oh it is broken, the part I had showed him.
Then again while on his cell phone, he asked (again in a rude way), What else ?
I took him to the garage and showed him the water heater and told him that there were heart beat sounds coming from the water heater. He asked me to turn on the water in the house, so I did. Now he was on his other cell phone.
He asked me to turn the water off. When I came back to the garage, he looked at me and told me that I was crazy. He said, Your crazy, there is no sounds. I hear nothing!!
I looked at him and said, Im NOT crazy. There were two of us who heard sounds coming from the water heater. Again he told me that I was crazy.
Then while still on his cell phone he said, Is there anything else (and he was VERY rude in asking me).
I told him, No.
He then went to his van, started it up, came back had me sign the paper work and told me that he would be in touch when he can come back to fix the part for the kitchen sink. I told him that Mondays are better for me.
I waited ALL week to hear from the company / or this guy, and not a word from them to see when would be a good time on Monday to come. Not a word.
So today Monday Oct. 29th, at 8am I got a call from the office (and the girl calling was also rude) saying that she had the guy ready to come over now.
I told her that NOW was not a good time cause I had an appointment that I was leaving for and that this afternoon would be better. I also told her that I had waited ALL week to hear from them to see what time on Monday(today) they would be able to come over.
All she said was that she would call the guy to see when this afternoon he would be able to come over, we then hung up. I waited all day for her to call me back. 4pm came and she calls me and says, Well I can't get the teck to come over today, so will next Monday work? I told her that next Monday would be fine and then she said in a rude way, The teck will be there between 12noon and 5pm.  Without say goodby, she just hung up.

So, I will NEVER call on them again and I will NEVER recomend them to anyone, EVER !!

Like many others that have left reviews here, I have had nothing but bad experiences with Grace Plumbing, all dispatched through warranty. They do a crappy job and we often have to do a callback because they did not fix the problem correctly the first time. They got approval to replace faucet handles builder grade only. We have called them 5 times asking for a price on upgraded handles to match the bathroom finishes and still have not gotten it done. It has been almost 2 weeks of constant calling and even left a msg for the manager and nothing. They also have not responded to the call back for the leaking faucet that wasn't fixed right. I keep getting the same we are sorry you are upset we will leave a msg for Todd, the technician to call you back msg with no results. They are even going to make money on this job with the upgrade! I find it funny that when you call they are Grace Plumbing and Faith Restoration...they need to use some Grace to restore my Faith in their company!
UPDATE*** the faucet above is STILL not fixed. It has been 5 months since this claim was first filed. I have left several msgs and no response again. When I asked the receptionist why they could not call me back, I was informed the reason the manager did not call you back was because the technician that was out there (Todd) is no longer with our company so the manager has no information Then proceeded to tell me they will have to go out to the property for the 6th time to look at the faucet to get the info to replace it because the tech that isn't there did not leave any info/notes. Are you people for real? HOW IS THIS COMPANY STILL IN BUSINESS?????

I have a home warranty as well and called for service they showed up late Friday and was suppose to fix my kitchen faucet the spray handle broke off and hit someone in the eye (ouch), anyway they did not show up with the part Friday and said they had to order it and would return Monday to fix on Monday the plumber did not show up until 7:00 p.m. and with news that it was not covered under the warranty the plumber said that someone here must have beat up the faucet to make it brake he also said that the faucet was so old they could not find any replacement parts I bought my  home in 2005 and purchased the faucet then well on Tuesday I called pfister gave them an idea of what my faucet looked like and when I purchased it and they found it within 5 minutes of the call and yes you guessed it recalled faucet pfister is sending me a new faucet what a waste of my time with this company that basically called me a liar.

I had a wonderful experience using Grace Contracting, i thought i was going to have a hard time after reading all these reviews. I had a leaking water heater so i called Choice Home Warranty. not even 25 minutes later a nice lady called me from the office & said she could have somebody out to my house within the hour, A nice man came to my door 35 minutes later & assessed my water heater & called my home warranty company, everything got approved through them. I signed a contract for water mediation since i had water damage all throughout my house. A nice kid named Bradley showed up at my door 45 minutes later & started getting everything dried out for us!. Long story short I LOVED my experience with Grace.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! I am not one to write reviews, good or bad, for companies I do business with, but there was no way I could not say anything about the pitiful service I received. Was completely overcharged (because their technicians work on commission), they never returned my phone calls, were never on time, & was treated horrible by their technician by the name of Mark! All these crooks care about is money! Don't let their supposed Christian affiliation fool you!!! Unfortunately they were the only plumbing company contracted with my home warranty company, American Home Shield, so I had no choice but to use them. I ended up dropping American Home Shield because of their affiliation with Grace Plumbing!

As an update, and to be fair,  I was called by a manager to rectify the above situation.  Although I was still out of pocket over $300 for the work to be done by another company, I was refunded the $55 service fee which Grace charged.

We put in a repair request from our home warranty, and they came out that same day.  Unfortunately, they did not fix the two biggest problems we were having.  He said he fixed them, but my toilet is still leaking water, and my sink is still dripping.  I called back once I noticed these issues, and they said that since it is considered a recall, they will only come after 3pm, if they have time.  It's been days and I've yet to hear back.

Terrible terrible Scammers! They cancelled once putting me out for the entire day, then they show up, don't fix the problem (through Homewarranty) and damage the mains with water spitting out everywhere. They refuse to fix the problem saying they didn't do it and want to charge an extra $250 to fix it! What a joke! Don't use them!

Do not use Grace Plumbing! Our home warranty company dispatched Grace Plumbing on two different occasions. In both service calls the technician didn't have the basic materials or tools required to complete the job. Warranty company said the repair was covered with standard $75 co-payment. Both times we were asked to pay more for the covered repair, the repairs were incomplete, and the workmanship was shoddy. We had to schedule additional service calls. One technician said he was not allowed to turn off the water at the street, and suggested I contact the city to turn off the water and then Grace could do the repair.  Another technician asked us not to tell his boss about the lack of materials needed to replace a water heater b/c the boss would fire him.

We just had Grace Plumbing come for the 3rd time because they didn't fix our leaky sink and quiet one of our toilets the first or second time.  This last time, the so called tech Justin came over and literally asked us what our thoughts were and how to handle it.  My wife and I looked at each other and said..I don't know, your the plumber.  He continued to look at the toilet and welcomed any suggestions.  We honestly did not know if he was a real plumber or not so we asked him.  He immediately walked out of our house as if he was offended saying It's 7:30, I'm out of here.  I walked outside to confront him in a nice manner, but he remained unprofessional and continued with his immature tantrum and literally drove off without fixing anything.  As the night went on, we just thought how dare he make us feel bad in our own home.  Very unprofessional company.  PLEASE DO NOT USE.  That is hard for me to say since we too our Christian.  They definitely don't practice what they advertise with their name.

NO STARS!!!!  We called AHS and Grace Plumbing showed up and insisted on payment before looking at the problem.  The tech then lied to AHS  so the problem was not covered.  When we asked what the problem was, we were told that if we  wanted to put in a work order (pay more money) they would be able to tell us what problem was.  Bottom line, we still  have no water and need to call a REAL plumber to get the problem fixed.  NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

I really wish I could award 6 stars! I am surprised by the negative reviews below, but maybe there is something different with people who homeowners warranties. I just had a visit from these guys and it was a great experience! Even Parker's & Son's is booked up until the end of tomorrow because of all of the frozen pipe emergencies this weekend, and even they are usually here lickety-split!

The plumber named Kelly from Grace, on the other hand, was here in about 45 minutes (he was in the area). I think I have a new plumbing company when emergencies arise. He got here fast, he diagnosed the issues fast, he worked reasonably fast, he stayed at his quoted price (even when more unexpected pipe issues half way through the job, creating more work for him), and took his time showing me how the pipes froze and how to prevent it from happening again. He even dealt with my landlord toboot, thanks!!! Kelly was exactly what I want and expect from a plumber: friendly, knowledgeable, gets in, gets it done, and off he goes.

The total for the work was more than I wanted to pay, about $250, but that included a $75 Sunday fee and the price is apparently comparable. Besides, it was done right. He showed me what he did with the busted pipes up on the roof, and they look like a clean and high-quality job. Despite paying more than I wanted, I still tipped Kelly way-over my normal 10% on services, he rocks!

Great experience!
I have a home warranty so when I put in for a repair they'll send someone out.

Sometimes it's not good. Sometimes it's awesome - Like Grace Plumbing.

I was worried about a company that was so Christian based, Atheist- Agnostic here, and getting a religious push.

However Joe was wonderful tech and we had a lovely talk about his experience playing and teaching MMA fighting.

He found the faucet I needed and ordered it. It took a while to get it in stock and then even LONGER for me to have the time to schedule an appointment. Sorry about that Joe! He took no time to install my new sink faucet and was done quickly.

One drawback, there is a soap dispenser thingie that doesn't work and looks hideous. That's as much my fault for not mentioning it as it is his for not noticing. So draw on that.

BUYER BEWARE.... BUYER BE SMART

This company is predatory in nature. They work with Home Warranty services and know how to use the system. My recent experience was just plain exhausting.

First, I believe that home warranties are a rip-off, plain and simple. But I have one as a result of purchasing my home. Shortly after moving in had a water heater issue. Home warranty sent out a service tech from another company. It cost me almost 300 bucks but it was done... so I thought. The new water heater went out and flooded my garage just 9 months after install. Called home warranty.. they sent me Grace Plumbing which I was grateful for as it was Friday afternoon of a long weekend.... or so I thought.

The technician came in, said I needed a new heater and this one is still under warranty.. no problem. He left to call it in to the home warranty people and pick up a new heater.. I was excited. About 20 minutes later the home warranty people called me to say my service was covered, but that additional work was required to bring the installation up to code.... WTF? Isn't that what I paid for the last time???

Anyway.. the quote for the none covered installation items, along with co-pay and heater removal reached an astonishing 700+ dollars... keep in mind the water heater was still covered under warranty... I asked for a second opinion and was told I had to use Grace or do it myself. I choose the latter...

Called two other plumbing companies, both came out to looked.. piece of cake, no code issues and heater easily replaced. I hired one of them and fixed my issue for $300 without the help of the home warranty people or Grace Plumbing.

I have sent before and after photos, copy of the quote and home warranty contract along with final invoice from the reputable plumber that fixed my issue to the AZ State Consumer Protection / Fraud Commission as well as to the Department of Registrar who license these kind of services.  Many lessons learned.. certainly a lot of people out there that will attempt to take advantage of a situation. Please be smart and don't believe everything your told because someone is a so-called professional...

I had Grace Plumbing serve our property multiple times. It's so funny to read the other stories because I have shared many of the same experiences as other posters. For example, they replaced my water heater and I paid an 700 dollars outside of what my warranty covered. In hindsight, I realize I should have questioned some of those charges or got a second opinion from another company affiliated with my home warranty.

If you have to use them through your home warranty, call your warranty company in advance and verify what parts and services are covered. This way you will know for certain what is covered just in case their technician says a part is not covered.

In my opinion and experience with them, they are very stingy. When they arrive, they want to do the bare minimum. In my opinion, they don't like replacing parts. I had to call them out multiple times to fix the same problem. On one occasion, a part broke and rather than replace it, they just jerry-rigged it. I wasn't at home at the time to verify their work and trusted they would fix the problem. The problem reoccurred and when I viewed what they did to fix the problem, I was astonished by their laziness and lack of professionalism. I had already spent $120 dollars in warranty fees to fix this same problem. I called to complain and asked them to specifically replace the part. I even called my warranty company in advance to verify they covered the part knowing Grace would try to insinuate the part isn't covered. Sure enough, when I called Grace and asked them to replace the part, their rep said that would depend if the warranty company covers the part. I told them it did and that they could call the company and verify it themselves.  Only then did they replace the part which they should have done the first time.

The one positive about Grace is they do show up on time and will provide a 30 minute advance call to notify you when they arrive. They've never been late in my experience.

Based on my recent experience with them, I'm going to pay for a quality plumber outside of my warranty rather than dealing with Grace again. It's just not worth it in my opinion.

Avoid wasting your money on American Home Shield so you don't have to be stuck with Grace & Faith. They won't hold to their scheduled time window, so you should take the day off and ask for the earliest available appointment. Calling customer service is also like an episode of Seinfeld, when waiting for a table at a Chinese restaurant. Every time you check on where the technician is, they say 5 or 10 minutes. If you give them an alternative contact number, they ignore it and call whatever AHS gave them.

We have AHS for our home warranty company and we had our water heater begin leaking on Saturday.  We called for a repair request that very day and were called on Sunday by Grace Plumbing (AHS contracted plumber) to schedule our repair.  They told us we couldn't get on the schedule till Tuesday from 2-7 pm that week, a whole 3 days after the major leak began.  When I protested the situation, they simply said sorry this is all they had.  I even tried to call on Monday for a possible cancellation list and they said, no we were on the schedule for Tuesday and would call 30 minutes prior to so we could be home.  By the time the technician showed up on Tuesday @ 3:00 pm we had significant water damage to our exterior wall and pedestal for the water heater.  We also were told we had several code violations he was 'required' to fix that may not be covered by the warranty.  He quoted an estimate of $650 dollars on top of our $100 service fee for them to be there that day from AHS.  AHS got the coverage down to $140 for the extras and we authorized to do it but by then it was past 4:00 pm and 'the parts store closed'. The technician told me he could put us on as his second stop the very next day, maybe 10:00 am.  He continued to tell me about his concern for the water damage and that our pedestal might not even hold a new heater.  The next day comes, now 4 days after reporting our damage and he doesn't show up at 10:00, no one has called to tell us the service times.  My husband tracks him down and he states that he never said 10:00, we are on the schedule for 12:00 - 5:00 and he has NO IDEA what time he'll be able to get there.  Meanwhile water continues to pour out of our water heater into the garage & wall - no we wait and cross our fingers they can at least replace it and move on.  We will avoid using Grace Plumbing at all costs in the future.  It has been a very unpleasant experience.  CANNOT RECOMMEND GRACE PLUMBING FOR ANY REASON.

Do not use this comany!!!
The customer service people are very rude and for being a Christian base company they sure do not apply that to their customers. We had a pipe burst and called our home warranty company. They contacted Grace Plumbing and they told the home warranty company they would send someone out that day, however when we contacted them they told us they could not get out until the next morning. Meanwhile we were not able to turn the water on without water pouring out of the pipe in our bathroom. The home warranty company had to call them back and insist that they come out today. The plumber did not have the correct tools to finish the job the same day. He told us he would be back the next day after 5. The next day they called midday and due to work my husband was not able to answer right away. He called them back within 5 minutes and Grace told him that they cancelled the appointment since he did not answer right away. When I called to state we were told they would not be there until after 5 and they would call a half hour before they were on their way they told us our window was from 12 to 5. I explained that no one informed us of that and that we needed someone to come and fix the pipe as they said they would. After having to be forceful and demand they come out as promised, the rep I was speaking to put me on hold and came back stating their must have been a miscomunication and someone will be out tonight. In addition to our sink problems the plumber informed us that our toilets need to be replaced but we should check with our home warranty company to see if it would be covered. I contacted our home warranty company and they said the plumbing company was the one that needed to call in the diagnosis and get an authorization. I called and requested that the company do this and was told they would do it. It has been 2 days and they still haven't done and I have called mulitple times to follow up on this.

Horrible company to work with. We have requested that our Home Warranty company not use them in the future so that others do not have to go through what we have had to go through.

Grace Plumbing was called by AHS to service a toilet stoppage.  They called very quickly and worked around my schedule.  They called and said the service guy was on his way and would be there in 30 minutes.  Well, after an hour and 15 minutes he showed up.  Must have been some traffic from Chandler to N. Phoenix.  He was very helpful, professional and took care of the problem.  Yes, I would recommend Grace Plumbing to friends.

I was scheduled to have a plumber between 8AM and 11AM. They showed up at 10 PM !!!.               Here is the story:
Received a call from Grace Plumbing at 7:40AM and been told: the plumber will be in my home in 30 minutes. At 11AM no one showed up. I called Grace Plumbing again, they told me three of their plumbers called in sick and they are short. The plumber will be at my house at 5PM. Again no one showed up. I called AHS to complain. The plumber came to my house at 10 PM !!!!!!! I lost a whole day of work!!!

AHS contracted with Grace Plumbing for a repair at my house.  After three days of waiting without water, which would have been longer if my husband had not have told them a week was unacceptable, a technician came out.  He complained about rat excrement (not his words) in the crawlspace.  He never looked at the leak.  He then decided that he did not have the correct tools to fix the leak.  He called his boss, and ten minutes later told me the claim would be denied by AHS.  He left.  I called a local plumber who was out in less than 1 1/2 hours, and fixed the leak for under $200 (on a Saturday afternoon).  A week later, I received a call from AHS (Option Specialist) who told me that Grace plumbing gave an estimate for $630 that I could pay out of pocket for the repair.  Unsure how an estimate was generated when the technician (who clearly did not want to get dirty) didn't even look at what the repair entailed.  Needless to say, I did not wait over a week to overpay on a repair by Grace Plumbing.

the worst company !!! AHS sent them out to clean out my main drain that was backed up!! after 5 phone calls they showed up at 9 pm and claimed they couldnt find the pipe because of the rocks in the yard. the guy stood there while my husband(who by the way, had just had a pacemaker put in) he told my husband it wasnt in his job description to find the pipe! my husband did it because both our bathroom were backed up! my husband finally told him to leave as he was out of breathe. the guy sed fine, i will cancel the order and left. 2 weeks later i found out they still charged us for the call and AHS sent me a bill! should have sued them for putting my husband's health in danger. i would never ever use these people!! seeing other reviews, he looks like they always have problems finding the pipe! its funny but another company came out the next day and had no problem finding it!

II should have posted this review months ago.  My experience was almost identical, down to the service tech using the same words as Barry K posted on on 11/22/12. The problem was I sent my husband (a pretty hand guy, but not willing to work on the gas water heater) to see the mold problem.  The drywall wasn't even wet and there was no water staining, no paint bubbled like it might be had it been wet at one time, and when my husband tested the exterior wall in an outdoor laundry room, the moisture content registered lower than the most interior walls in my own home.  So when they couldn't sell me the service of Faith Restoration who was all too willing to tear into my drywall before contacting the homeowner's insurance company, they tried racking up a bunch of non-warranty items that they insisted were required to bring the water heater up to code.  In actuality some of the items would have been required had the water heater been indoors, but it was not. In any event, the costs were exorbitant:
drip pan $195,
drip leg $120,
new supply line $120,
new gas line $75,
I didn't write fast enough to get the rest of the fees, which totaled $870.

I called AHS, cashed out, and hired a local, reputable, family owned plumbing company to install for just a couple dollars more than AHS paid.
Interestingly, I just had another plumbing mishap with an AHS plumbing company, 1st Choice Residential and Commercial Service or 1st Choice Services or 1st Choice Plumbing; they referred to themselves as all three. Guess who walked in on the second visit, after I had complained...  the same plumber who tried to gouge me with Grace Plumbing at another property just a few months before.  I will be posting on 1st Choice as well.

If you have AHS, you do not have to settle for whomever they try to assign.  Make some calls, find a reputable contractor who also works with AHS, and insist on using them.  I have done it many times - I just did not know any of their plumbers.

My garbage disposal was not working. My homeowners warranty sent Grace Plumbing.  The tech arrived on time, found there was something stuck in the disposal, removed it and disposal now working.

This company came to my house, and wanted to charge me $350.00 for a cleanout for getting up on my roof. The service was supposed to be covered by my home warranty company. Once it wasn't, they wanted to charge $350.00 to get up on the roof. I was outraged by this proposal. The guy was greasy and didn't seem trustworthy. I still had to pay a $60.00 co-pay for them to come to my house, make a mess in my bathroom, and clog my toilet up even worse than it was before they came. Ridiculous! Don't use them!

I had 2-10 Home warranty. I called to get my toilet repaired. 2-10 gave me a work order plus Grace Plumbing as the company that was supposed to get in touch with me in 24 hours. 2 days passed then I called Grace Plumbing. They said they didn't have any work order first. Then 2 minutes later they magically found it and scheduled me for next day. Next day they didn't show up! Then I call them and was told that they don't have any work order then magically found it again. They scheduled me again but later called me to cancel the appointment without explanation. I then called 2-10 to ask for another plumbing company.

We had to have our hot water heater replaced. Our home warranty company sent them to take care of it. Once here, they tried to charge $185 extra just to dispose of the old hot water heater and add a $15 drip pan under the new one. Then the repair person didn't even get the right size drip pan and my husband had to go to Home Depot to get one. Unbelievable attempts to rip customers off...

Unfortunately I have AHS home warranty plan and had to use Grace Plumbing twice.
Both times I had the same exact experience. It took 2-3 days to call back and schedule an appointment and another 2-3 days before they showed up. Both times they tried to charge us for items that they claimed were not covered under warranty and when we called them out on the accuracy of the quote they started to back pedal.

If you have your hot water heater replaced DO NOt fall for their scams of trying to charge you to remove the old one. Believe me they want your old water heater because they sell it for scrap metal. We told the technician we would get rid of it ourself and he quickly removed the disposal fee off our bill and took the old water heater. In addition he told us that there was a $150.00 paperwork fee for registering the new water heater with the CIty of Scottsdale. When I questioned this fee he told me that Grace plumbing could expedite the paperwork and complete the install that day. He claimed that if I tried to do it on my own it could take days. This is not true!!!
I called the City of Scottsdale and they told me the form was online. I put in my information paid $25.00 and they sent me a confirmation in 10 minutes.

Horrible!!!!! I have AHS home warranty and this Grace Plumbing has been to my property 3 times and have yet to solve the problem. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Do not use them unless you want a price that is too high, and work that substandard.

I placed a service request via my home warranty American Home Shield (AHS) two weeks ago to replace my hot water heater. Grace originally replaced this water heater 2 years ago.  Grace arrived and claimed that it was under warranty but required an additional $250 because certain parts needed to be ordered. I was not very pleased to hear this considering they replaced this same heater two years ago. Nonetheless, I agreed and paid them in advance with my credit card. Grace failed to appear to 2 scheduled appointments. We never received a call from Grace explaining their failure to show up.

Since they failed to appear for a second consecutive time, we called Grace to inquire what the reason was. Grace did not apologize. They informed us AHS canceled their company contract the previous day so they would not be able to fulfill our work order.  We reminded Grace that the work order was placed two weeks prior to the date of their canceled contract and were contractually obligated to honor their existing work orders. They still refused, thus we asked for a refund. We paid $250 plus an additional $70 service fee. They would refund the $250 fee but not the $70 service fee. We responded by reminding them that we agreed to  have the water heater replaced ,and they failed to honor their obligation so they should refund the service fee as well.

People should be aware of their Better Business Bureau status. The BBB has 28 complaints filed in the last 3 years. Of their 28 reviews, 22 of them have been negative, 5 have been positive and 1 was neutral. Grace had an F rating on the BBB site which can be seen here. The BBB listed three reasons to support its rating which is listed below

This is by far the worst company I have ever done business with.  They up-sell you and tell you it's mandatory by city code or they can't preform the warranty work.  I was charged $125.00 dollars for a pressure and temperature relief valve that came with the new water heater as a standard product.  The installer Mark tried to bring out a lower grade hot water heater then the one I had and he was replacing.  He developed an attitude when I told him I was not going to accept it and its not what the warranty company approved. He made three trips to the warehouse to get the right water heater. I was then charged $185.00 for a cheep-ass tin drip pan with PVC drain pipe, which once again Mark the installer dry fit and never glued the fittings.  He told me it was done that way so I wouldn't have to cut the pipe when I needed to replaced this hot water heater in the future.  What about when this hot water heater breaks as Mark the installer has foretold and I need the drain pan plumbing stay together to keep the water from flooding my garage?  I feel intact plumbing this is more important then cutting the PVC line when I need to replace it?  WOW! I was charged an additional $75.00 to put a Tee in my gas line.  Mark the installer told me it was to collect moisture in the gas line and was mandatory by city code. Really? This is the best one. I was charged another $75.00 to remove and reattach the vent line at the top of the gas hot water heater. When I questioned Mark the installer about it and I asked him to look me directly in the eye and tell he how he can justify the charge, Mark the installer nervously told he he had to realign the vent, cut off an inch because of the new drip pan and add some screws. He said this was considered a non covered cost. The drip pan is a couple of millimeters thick, had to cut an inch out?  At the end of the day I replaced my failed hot water heater the only retails for about $350.00 under my home owners warranty, which I have no idea what they had to pay (Cost of hot water heater and Installation).  I paid a $75.00 Copay deductible and a second check for the $242.00 Grace Plumbing and they made American Home Shield paid the other $250.00.  Why it had to be two separate checks is also a mystery. These type of business practice need to be illegal, which fraud and corrosion is.  They need to be shut down at the least.  I recommend to anyone NOT TO USE Grace Plumbing Services, Inc in Chandler Arizona. If their home warranty companies assigns Grace Plumbing services to you, ask to be assigned to someone else.

Grace Contracting Services are Crooks and liars*** Stay away***

Recently the laundry room in my home received some water damage due to a leaking water hose in between the walls. First thing I did was call my home warranty insurance AHS and they dispatched Grace contracting company and a plumber came out to my home. Plumber determined there was water damage and called a dry out company to demo damaged walls and to do dry out. They came the same night, left their instruments for 3 days to dry out.

Next GRACE CONTRACTING sent one of their adjusters. He assessed what the costs would be for restoration and emailed me an estimate of $818. I noticed that it did not include the dry out and tear down of damages walls so I emailed asking for the estimate or invoice for those services. They never responded, and didnt hear from them for 1 1/2 weeks even after multiple calls made. Finally someone informed me that they had not began to work on my house because I had not signed estimate back to them. I went ahead and signed the estimate for restoration out of desperation of not having a laundry now for 3 weeks since ordeal started so that they can finally begin working on my laundry room. My home owners insurance was also contacted and they also sent their own adjuster to assess the damages.

The restoration job that was done was horrible. Walls were uneven, trimming did not match and were also left unpainted, paint from trimming went up on the walls, paint drippings were left on my laundry room door, shelves were never re-installed. Needless to say I complained on the work that was done and same repair man came to fix the problem a couple days later

What happened next was really interesting. I received a call from Grace contracting stating that my insurance informed THEM that they issued a check to ME and wanted to know what the amount of the check was for. I had not received check at the time, so I had no clue what they were talking about. DAYS Later I received a call from Grace contracting collector stating that I owe $ 1400 for the mitigation (tear down of drywall and dry out machines). This was the first I had heard of that amount. I explained I only signed an estimate for $818, he explained how there's 2 separate charges aside from mitigation($1400) there is the charges for restoration ($1600) and said my total balance was for $3k. I was shocked! Collector claimed to have no idea of what estimate I was talking about and said the correct amount is $1600 for restoration not
$818 and that it is not his fault that their own adjuster did a horrible job in estimating. He proceeded to attempt to get out of me the amount of check I got from my insurance company. Then collector said if my calculations are correct, if we are charging you $1400(mitigation) + $1600( restoration) - minus my $1000 deductible then I should have got a check for $2k, And he was ready to send someone out to come pick up my check so that I can sign it over to them. I refused to do that and I disputed the outstanding charges that I had not heard of. He Then explains to me that my insurance sends out an adjuster so that my insurance can agree on what should be paid to the contractors and that the money belongs to them. And accused me of trying to get out of paying my deductible and said it was illegal not to pay your deductible. FALSE FALSE FALSE!!!

***IMPORTANT***
When any kind of damage is done to your home. You call your home owners insurance first! They send out an adjuster to assess the damage. Let's say according to your adjuster your damage is worth $3k however because you have a $1k deductible they will only cut YOU a check for $2k. It is up to YOU if you want to find the cheapest contractor in town to do the repairs. Let's say u find contractor to do work for $1.5k, YOU keep the other $500. Or you can choose to NOT DO ANY repairs to the home at all and keep ALL the money. What you do it's up to you. It is your money.

What the thieves at Grace contracting are trying to do is cash in on the total amount of the check that my insurance gave to me by raising the prices without even having a signed estimate from me and are demanding payment. I am not disputing that there is money due. I am trying to pay for what I was informed and agreed to pay in the signed contract for.

I too have AHS and over several years we have always had Grace Plumbing on three different occasions and have been extremely satisfied.

This time was our water heater and the our technician Chris was excellent.  There were some scheduling issues because of our our work schedule and other more urgent calls in the pipeline but in the the end we could not be more satisfied with the service.  Chris was professional and detailed oriented and spent the time needed to install the unit.  We also noted that the new water heater was of a far superior quality than the old one we had.

The dispatcher Deri was excellent and she followed up with calls keeping us updated as to the status of our request.  She even called after the service to ensure that we were satisfied.   Wow that is some service.

It wonderful to know that the owners of Grace Plumbing attract and retain good talent.  Keep up the great service and thanks once again.

Grace Plumbing was called by AHS to service a leak we had.  They called very quickly, showed up on time and fixed the job properly.  This is the second time we have used them through AHS and they do a great job.  I trust them, which is rare in this business today.  Thanks!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!  My home warranty company sent them out because I was not getting hot water in my bathtub.  Before the technician even looked at the problem they checked my water pressure and said it was 195 pounds and should be between 75-80 pounds.  Me not knowing anything about plumbing was very concerned.  He went on to try to sell me an over $500 pressure reducing valve.  I, of course wanted a second opinion and the next plumber that came out said my pressure was 75 pounds which was normal.  I also bought my own gauge to check myself.  I called Grace plumbing back to see if they would come out to check the pressure again and fix their mistake but they refused.  The technician should have known that 195 pounds was almost impossible for me to be getting.  He was trying to take advantage of an unknowing and trusting person.  I honestly have never wrote a review before but have NEVER been this upset.  I don't want anyone else to get taken advantage of.

I have an AHS warranty as well and they sent Grace out on a fairly minor leak in my hot water heater. It took AHS 4 days before Grace to arrived at 9:30 last night. The tech could do nothing for me but he told me he could start the process.

He told me the pedestal the hot water heater was sitting on was in danger of collapsing and it could cause a gas leak and cause my garage to explode and damage my cars. He wanted to remove my hot water heater and have the dry out crew come over in the morning. Then a remediation person would come out and after I filed a homeowners insurance claim they would start the work to replace a bunch of drywall in my garage and prevent mold. Estimated cost, $3000. Then he told me he had to remove my hot water heater right that minute due to liability. I sid no and we were done, I sent him packing.

This was all bunk. I knew the drywall on the pedestal was wet but I also knew the pedestal is constructed of 2x6 lumber on a concrete slab and covered with drywall. Very sturdy indeed!

So I called Benjamin Franklin plumbing at 10pm last night. At 9am Junior, the BF Tech arrived and by 11:30 I had a new hot water heater installed. He did an excellent job. I had to pay for it myself but it was a lot cheaper than the fleecing that Grace Plumbing tried on me. I don't know who is worse, AHS or Grace. Benjamin Franklin told me they hear these stories all the time. So, my water is hot, the pedestal is almost fry and I will patch it and paint it tomorrow.

Oh yeah, Junior also sprayed the area with mold prevention material, part of their service. Once again I learned you get what you pay for!!

Under no circumstance should Grace Plumbing be used,  I as others had A.H. S warranty contract.  This was on friday. They told me to call Grace. Plumbing, which I did.  I had a under slab leak in foyer from hot water pipe.  Joe? came out to look at the problem. He had two workers come out with Jack Hammer to find leak. after stating they had never done this type because of flagstone cover. they called office 2 or 3 times to get advice. They eventually found the leak that afternoon .  They set up drying equipment and fans to dry out the ground.  They came with no shovel or wheel borrow to remove dirt. I loaned them the equipment to remove it from the hole. Joe? insisted that I pay 50 % of the cost of repairing leak and recovering hole.  this cost being $2054     i wrote check to Grace for $1054.  they supposedly turned water off? They went to wrong city shut off and water leaked continued. On Sat. I called Joe? only to find his cellphone mailbox full.  this went on until monday evening.  On Tues called Main office to find out when the repairs w ere going to be done?  They sent plumber out later that afternoon who tried to stop leak by repairing pipe after hrs of trying he stated that it would've  to be run overhead.  He also told me that Joe? had disappeared. I stopped  payment on check to protect myself. On Weds they told me it would be $2500 to fix the problem I questioned the amount as I had previous building experience building shopping centers and laundromat.  the drying out cost by Grace was $1674 I stated I was going to get another estimate, which I did and it was $1250 to repair leak.   The  estimator stated that they were using the wrong type of solder and it was not to the Az code and it would've failed again.       Don? the Grace estimator called me and stated that they would undercut any estimate that I had.  I don't do business that way, and told him so.  By this time I had been without water for 7 days, only to find out that the hot water could've been shut off and I could've stayed in house by the other estimator.  I had the repair done on  the following monday for $1250  On tuesday after being harassed by Grace for the  $1674 payment which didn't give me credit for the $1000 which A.H.S. was going to give them, leaving a balance of$ 674.  I called the A.Z. Register of Contractors and explained what was going on and I was referred to the Legal dept. and had I not had it repaired by other contractor they would've taken legal action against  Grace.

Homeowners and Plumbers BEWARE Grace Plumbing Company  they are a Christian based company, but they hide behind that !!!!! They are Thieves, they steal from there employees and from the homeowners they do business with. Examples of there practice ...... They charge customers for services they don't need by telling them it is require by law. They have a in house Restoration company that over charges you and your insurance company and does not complete the work or do the repairs correctly. Will even tell your insurance company  that something is wrong that isn't so they can charge more.

Plumbers looking to work here.... The reason they have adds on craigslist all the time is they cheat you out of your money. They conveniently loose your restoration accounts so they don't have to pay you. and when you quit or get fired they will KEEP ALL OF THE MONEY THEY OWE YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE

I called Grace to come out and do a simple showerhead repair.  After scheduling for the next day, the plumber didn't show up until I called several times based on their original confirmation.  Plumbers shows up around 9PM for 5 minutes and realizes he doesn't have the right part.  Says he will talk to dispatch and come back the next day with the right part.  Meanwhile, he takes my broken part to ensure he gets the right items at the hardware store.  I wait all the next day, calling several times with no response.  Finally, I talk to someone who says he will contact the plumber directly and call me right back, NO RESPONSE.  I call Saturday with a very pissed off demeanor.  I would have cancelled the appointment right then and there but the plumber had taken my part and I needed it to ensure I got the right items.  The plumber finally calls me mid day Saturday and informs me that he found the right part, but used it on another job, the day before.  Now he has no part and  has to wait until Monday to get it.  Then he denied taking my broken part.

Needless to say after several strongly word phone calls and persistence on my part, the job was finished.  Will never use these clowns again.
