I am disappointed in the service I have received from this company. After several plumbers, my last resort was hoping for this company to help us out. We were told a guy named Jesse would come out but a different guy named Stephen arrived. We greeted him and informed him about our toilet issues. The top hall bathroom had cracks throughout the toilet and was leaking at the base. The master bathroom also had cracks throughout the toilet, has a slow flush that required us to flush twice when going poop, and also causing us to plunge it several times. Then the bottom hallway bathroom was not working at all. We informed Stephen that we attempted to resolve the issues but were unsuccessful. The toilet would rock while sitting on it, so my fiancé figured it might be the wax bowl after doing his research. He changed the corroded wax bowl and noticed the flange was broken on 1 side so he placed that bolt on the counter to avoid any damage to the porcelain. We told Stephen several times that this was normal wear and tear and not something we did or caused. So he left and told us he would come back and fix the flange as soon as he got authorization. After he left, we noticed he left the toilet off the flange and there was water on the ground. So I called Alvarez to see if he could come back and at least put the toilet back and never got a returned call. Later, I got another call from our warranty, they told me my claim was denied because Stephen told the warranty department that 1 bolt was missing which was incorrect because both bolts were present. They also denied replacing my cracked toilets because he said they didn't need to be replaced. At his moment, we are concerned after previous plumbers have told us these toilets would need to be replaced due to the cracks. At this point, we will have to replace everything ourselves. Careful when choosing this company when going through warranty claims. Alvarez plumbing quoted us $300-$400 to change a flange when other plumbers have quoted us $190. I have tried to resolve my concerns by calling and addressing them with Krystal, the girl who answered the phone. She informed me should would speak with the manager and return my call. I am still waiting for a call back.
Frank: Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, AHS has based denial on Stephens diagnosis. Per AHS, Stephen stated there was a missing bolt causing the toilet not to flush properly. As stated in my previous response, both bolts were present. One was placed above the toilet on the bathroom counter as to not break the porcelain. Since he has stated a bolt was missing, AHS denied my claim. AHS stated I needed to speak with the plumbing company since denial/approval is based on that missing bolt and Stephen would have to call AHS to verify the bolt was present just not attached. In regards to the cracked toilets, the cracking is both inside and outside the toilets so this is a concern for me as two previous plumbers have emphasized this was a safety hazard and they would need immediate replacement as they could cause further leaking and damage. Stephen told us and AHS that the cracks were not important and did not need replacement. I am concerned about the safety and liability of my family and friends. Through my research, any crack is cause for replacement so if Stephen would have requested approval they would have been approved. We repeatedly told him our concerns, and he seemed to brush them off. Another concern with Stephen is that when AHS questioned him about the age of the toilets he answered 10 years. This is incorrect information the toilet upstairs are 30 years and the one downstairs is 18 years as verified by a time stamped year located in the tank. It is imperative that Stephen gets his information accurate as he is causing claims to get denied which is causing us as customers to waste time, money, and stress.
