HISTORY

Established in 2002.
I work very hard. I started doing this type of work while going to school for a nursing degree and working in Psyc. emergency at SFGH. This type of work was only intended to supplement my income. But I really love the fact that I still get to help people in crisis, there happy to see me when I arrive, and they have a smile on there face when the work is completed. This is one of those types of jobs for me that you here others talk about when they say I really love this job, and I'd almost do this type of work for free because I love it so much. Unfortunately, due to the economy I've had to take on another part time jobe at UCSF, and I'm also the manager of a 20 unit building in ht e Hayes Valley. But that's not to say that I can't make time for you and I most certainly will.

I had modem wires snaking across the floors of my house.  Decent wi-fi signal in some rooms.  Crappy/weak signal in others.  A desktop computer that was almost unusable because it could not be plugged into the modem on the other side of the house.

I called A Wire Guy.  Paul was courteous, early, solved it all in about 3 hours, and cleaned up his when he was done.  This service is a truly rare bargain.

I'm a repeat customer and paid in full. we needed to have some wiring redone and called Paul. I have contacted repeatedly over the last few weeks and have received no response. What is going on, Paul?

A Wire Guy was very helpful with my project. He gave me a good estimate on what it would cost to wire my house with cat6 cable and answered almost the questions I had, even though he wasn't able to make it out to my place in Benicia. Helpful, nice guy, who I would trust to work on my home.

We had a really complicated situation with a new gate after a remodel and our intercom system. Quite literally, we had 6 other people come and they couldn't figure it out.  A Wire Guy spent many hours and got out system mostly working.  I truly believe all that was in his  power he fixed. The gate fabricator and contractor messed things up. A Wire Guy got us up and running again and had the patience to show up day after day.  He knows his stuff.

I worked with Paul. He was great. I needed cat6 run from the middle of my house to the back, to overcome wifi problems. He was right on time, professional, and did great work.

I just had a horrible experience with this guy. I needed help with my office network cables. Called him up. Made an appointment. Here I am waiting, waiting, waiting. Changing my work schedule, so i can have this guy come in. No show, no call, nothing.
I call him. His explanation was... oh, you know what, I'm not going to be able to come, not even until after my vacation in September, i've got too many things going on right now. Didn't even appologize. NOTHING. Are you kidding me? Totally unprofessional!! I hope people read this and take their business elsewhere!

We used Paul to wire our new office in SOMA with Ethernet (Cat6). He did a nice clean install and routing of cables around our big open warehouse space and in a few offices, and worked with us on budget and customizing the install for what we needed.

It wasn't a huge project but we bid it around to a few different guys, and Paul was the most responsive and had a good price. We also weren't in a huge time crunch, but he really made sure to get everything done on the schedule we needed, and I never had any problems with him being late like the other reviewers mentioned. He was totally up front that he has another job that sometimes makes scheduling tricky, and it wasn't ever a problem for us. I'll definitely call him again for cabling.

Paul is very good at what he does.  I'm an IT professional who has done his fair share of wiring buildings with Cat6 cables, and this guy knows what he's doing.

We've had him come out to fix an Aiphone intercom system for our condo building.  He was quick to find out the cause of the problem, and was able to fix the problem...all for a great price.  I'm going with him again to fix the phone line that AT&T refused to fix, and probably for the best since AT&T would likely rip me off!  :)

Paul did a very good job wiring up our new office in Hayes Valley.  He definitely moved faster than the other tech people working to get us into our new office (the server guy, the ISP, phone company, etc.)

It is an old victorian building and we didn't want to damage anything, or have ugly wires visible anywhere. He figured out how to hide the wires neatly and used the crown moldings and closets and other existing features to hide the wire chases.  It was quite a big job: both phones and computers throughout our entire office.   The wire closet is very tidy with all wires labeled and organized so that when we upgraded our server it was very easy to hook in to the existing wires.

I would use Paul again.  In fact, we did bring him back to add some additional extensions as we grew.  I have also recommended Paul to other friends wiring up their offices.

No silicone sealant was used on the outside where he drilled holes in the wall. This can cause water to leaks into the wall when it rains. How much time or money does that take? 10 cents and 30 seconds? The cable installed by my internet company used sealant, but not this guy. And I just noticed after 2.5 years. Also, I feel he padded the amount of time needed to do the job and therefore padded the bill. I saw him idle during some of the time. I should have questioned it at the time.

Paul is honest, reliable and was able to assess my needs and execute flawlessly.

I have an airport base station that I wanted connected to an airport express to increase my wireless internet range. I tried for hours to connect and because of apple's new connection wizard I was not getting it done. The only way to connect was ethernet cable from base to express.

Paul was able to install ethernet under the floor to connect to the location I needed for coverage. This fix saved me hundreds of dollars when I thought my only option was getting a new network installed.

Paul totally ROCKS!!

A Wire Guy was running a bit late, but called to say he was on his way and arrived 15 mins after scheduled.  He was efficient, and nice enough to answer all of my telephone wiring and other questions and best of all he set me up for half of what AT&T would have charged and was much friendlier about it.  I appreciated that he was able to come on a Sunday so that I wouldn't have to take hours off work for the installation.

He told me to call him if I had any problems over the next month and he would come back for free, and no problems so far!

We recently moved into a new office space in Burlingame and on the plus side the whole place had been wired for CAT 5.  On the downside it was all stripped of terminators and the labels on the wall completely removed.  So suffice to say it was kind of a disaster.

I contact Paul in order to come in and find which cable was which and re-terminate all the cables.  We setup a time a couple of days in advance and Paul arrived on time.  He was courteous and professional.

I had originally told him there were only 20 cables he has to find but as it turned out there were over 40 cables that needed to be fixed and without complaint he found every single one of them and labeled them appropriately.

As we expand our offices we'll definitely be calling on Paul to wire up the rest of the office.

The guy's a disaster.  He definitely has time management problems.  He made an appointment to come to my house on Sunday at 10am.  At 10, sharp, he called, said he'd had a bad night and just couldn't make it.  Said he was going on vacation but he'd put me on his calendar to call when he got back.  He never did.

Initially he installed a telephone connection in my house but unbeknownst to us in doing that he disconnected my front door bell and intercom, which I've now been without for months.  He came back once to try to fix it without any success.  He also mis-installed an ethernet drop and when I told him about it his response was, I'm just a wire guy, I don't know anything about IT.  So do not hire him to do even the simplest IT work.

I think I could get by his lousy expertise if he weren't so darned unreliable.

We were having all kind of issues with our phone system. He came in, got it repaired and was done under cost. He was the third person who had helped us on this issue including AT&T's field techs who were absolutely useless. I would us Paul Lee the Wire Guy anytime.

I had Paul come over to reorganize my whole phone system. It was a mess and he knocked it out in a couple of quick efficient hours. I am never going to work on my phone lines again, he's absolutely worth it!

Charlie was awesome. I have a crazy old house that was retrofitted with wires snaked around the outside of the house. And for reasons unknown to me, none of the existing fixtures worked. Charlie was able to diagnose the issue, get the ethernet cabling to all of the different floors (and garden shed) and test everything. My entire house is now connected and the speed test is jumping through the dial.

I have used Paul for my wiring needs for a number of years in multiple locations, and most recently on our latest office build-out.  This was a large job with over 100 Ethernet drops in a Class A downtown office building.  Building management is really laser focused on all contractors and has a number of specific rules and requirements.  Paul did a fantastic job on the project with extreme attention to detail.  All of my drops were properly labeled, and worked the first time they were run.  He interfaced with building management and myself in a highly professional manner.  And he gave me a very fair price on the entire job.

With this kind of contract work, it is so important to use someone who focuses on the details, and Paul does do to a tee.  I would highly recommend him for any tel/data wiring job.

I've used Paul a couple times.  The first time he installed all the phone and computer wiring in my expanded office.  The did an AWESOME job!!!  All the cables were nicely put together and everything was labeled in a very neat way.

A few months ago I used him again.  He started the job and had to come back a few days later to finish it up due to scheduling issues.  He was unexpectedly called by his first job (a job in a hospital he works at).

That said, there can be scheduling issues when he gets called unexpectedly or needs to work long hours at the hospital.  Therefore, give him a break if he's late!!!  He's super-nice and very affordable ... and does great work!

In reviewing other posts ... keep in mind that he's a WIRE GUY, and not an IT guy.  You wouldn't go to a dentist if you needed brain surgery, would you?  So call him for the type of work he specializes in and you'll be very satisfied.

After switching from ATT to Comcast my system was better but still ran like a boat with the anchor out. It has been over two months since Paul re-installed my wireless internet system. Paul is a gift of the gods  NEVER had to call him back. Our system runs flawless. PC's, Ipads, Iphones, laptops , desktops.

What a relief it is.

Paul was trustworthy, honest and I just wish I had more for hm to do, it is a shame that all he does is tech.

Can't recommend Paul enough! He did some work at my office wiring Ethernet cable. The end result was very professional, and well done. Paul definitely goes the extra mile and I'll be hiring him next time I have a wiring need for sure.

When we moved our offices from a wired building down by the ballpark to a more central location by City Hall Paul was my go to guy!!  We were the first tenants to move into a space previously occupied by city offices and the place had been torn apart.  I called Paul to set up our phone & computer systems. This included drilling holes in the walls, pulling the wires through, interfacing with A T & T, Comcast, the landlord and our IT folks.  He was very efficient, a friendly face that could explain in laymen's terms exactly what was needed and followed through on everything.  Even checking back in to make sure everything was up and running as we wanted.  I highly recommend Paul!

After the Wire Guy got me up and running with phone and DSL,
I was having connectivity problems with ATT.  Desperate, I called him to ask if he knew anyone who might be able to help.  Even though internet/tech is not his area of expertise, he suggested that my low speed issues with DSL might be due to my computer being too far away from the wi fi modem.  He also recommended specialists, however, in case I did need to hire someone else.  Well, armed with this new info from Paul, I was able to resolve my speed issues, and even get some actual help - finally - from ATT itself.  Paul had no reason to help me out on this follow up call.  He was just very kind to do it.
Believe me, this review is not 'a paid announcement.  I found the Wire Guy by googling phone installation so it was a shot in the dark.
Don't know what happened back in 2008 but I have to say, if you need help with phone wiring, or cable hookups, call Paul Lee the Wire Guy.

Paul was great to work with, showed up on time, and gave me an accurate quote. I asked him about some other wiring services I might need, and he gave some suggestions that would save me money at his own expense. That's the sign of a great contractor.

Paul Lee wired up a huge warehouse space I lived in a few years back. He did phone lines, and internet connections, and more. It was amazing and quick, and he's an interesting guy to chat with on top of all that! Hire him instead of going to the big companies. His prices are lower but his services are worth MUCH more.

Paul has helped my company set-up data connections for 2 of our offices. We're a growing technical start-up company in SF with relatively complex data routing requirements . He is quick, easy to work with, and professional.  A+!

I had Paul come out a few weeks ago to set up Ethernet between two rooms in my place.  He was punctual and friendly, and did a great job for a great price.  The new wall jacks blend right in with the existing sockets and work great.

Paul provides just the right balance between knowledge (about networks and everything wire-ish around the house), skills (how to install it all), and customer focus (how to be patient with a client that doesn't know exactly what he wants). Stuck patiently with us through a long renovation, adjusting to what could be done given other subcontractors' pace. Highly recommended.

Our non profit moved offices into a space that had accumulated bad wiring over multiple years.  Paul gave us a prompt estimate and delivered work on time and on budget, despite a very tight timeline and unforeseen challenges.  I highly recommend his work.
