Established in 1952.
Paul S. Hobaica founded Hobaica's Refrigeration in 1952 in Phoenix, Arizona. Hobaica's began as a one-man operation out of his home. His business grew & he expanded his clientele. He built a shop in 1959 in what was at that time county property outside of the city limits. The business still resides at this address having undergone several expansions over the years. As Paul's company grew, so did his family. When all was said and done he had seven children who all worked in the company at one point or another. In 1990, two of his sons, Louis and Paul J., purchased the business from their father. In 2001, brother Mike joined the partnership and added a new dimension to the company growth. In 2006, the name was officially changed to Hobaica Services, Inc. Presently, Paul, Louis and Mike Hobaica are all co-owners and strive serve the customer first as Hobaica has since 1952 . You can find the Founder, Paul S. Hobaica in the building from time-to-time checking in.

Justin back for shower cartridges installation in 2 full bathrooms. Job took longer than expected. We will need another visit to complete job.
Correcting faulty work done by Nex lvl services that installed hot water heater, subcontracted by Lowe's They allowed sediment to settle in some areas of plumbing in house. Mostly bathrooms and faucets.

Justin is simply the most honest ethical hard working service person I've ever experienced. I recommend a raise. Sincerely. Thanks everybody. Especially Justin.

Our air conditioning unit went out this morning (the outside unit was running, but the fan was not). We had the AC off for a few hours and tried to restart it in the afternoon with no luck. So, we called Hobaica based off of a friend's recommendation (he said that his father had been using Hobaica for years).

Since it's a Saturday, and it was 3:30pm by the time I called, I was thinking that I was going to have to pay an extra fee to have them come out on a weekend, but I was wrong. Since I called before the office closed at 5pm, they just charged me the regular (non-overtime) rate.

The technician was here within an hour and called when he was 20 minutes out to give me a heads up. He was very friendly and completed the work quickly, as he had the necessary parts in his truck. I'll definitely plan on using Hobaicas again when I'm needing HVAC services.

May 2018, I called Hobaica when AC wouldn't cool. Tech said it needed a part, installed it for $780. Next week the problem returned. Same tech came out. He said unfortunately now it needs (whatever) which costs $766. I said no way. Once I refused he returned to the roof for about 20 minutes, and the house cooled off. Told us he adjusted something, and there should be no more problems. He did add that we should consider replacing it anyway, as it was sort of contractor grade (well la-di-da!)

June 2018, I had another company run tests, they found no problems.

Oct 2018, Fall Service with Hobaica. It was not the same tech from May. This guy cranked up the heat, went on the roof awhile, then announced the unit was shot, and not worth fixing.

I said we had no problems since May, or the previous winter. He insisted it had lots wrong and that fixing it would be $3,000 and it's XX years old, (which he overstated by years). When I didn't want to buy a new HVAC if the one I have still works, he said, then DO NOT turn on heat this winter, or next spring your AC won't work!!

His top salesman happened to be nearby-in a city of 500 square miles! The salesman estimated a lump sum, including a water heater, of $7,942, after $1,900 in discounts. I repeated not in my budget. He suggested I finance to avoid a 2019 increase for tariffs. I bought nothing. It was cold, we had to use heat, I worried about a potentially ruined AC.

Outcome: we ran heat all winter...worked great, ran AC all this summer... worked great. What can you say about people who try to scare you into $8,000 of debt for something you don't need?

I heard from Mike Hobaica when I didn't send back their review forms at all, let alone with positive feedback. He defended the tech's dire warning as professional opinion. He did waive 6 months fees for Spring Service that I no longer wanted, but their office struggled to stop bank drafts and process a refund. Kyle Wallace got that issue resolved, so thanks, Kyle.

We had our AC go out on the 4th of July and Jason came out and got us back with cool air in 30 minutes. He was straight forward about what was needed and didn't make us feel we needed more that what was needed to fix the AC.

Horrible company. Management doesn't care to deal with any service issues and is difficult and nasty to work with. Service workers are unreliable and won't show up in timely fashion. This company doesn't understand the meaning of customer service. Don't waste your money!

I called Hobaica Services because they were an authorized dealer for Lennox air conditioners.  I will give them props because their technician, Kris, was very timely, courteous and professional.  However, $360 to replace the condenser capacitor is outrageous!  Shade Tree Mechanical Contractors replaced the part for $150.

I have struggled for many years with many different service providers trying to figure out what is going on with my unit. The air was cool, but not cold and the unit would run almost 24/7 and the hot afternoons were never comfortable. Mind you I had many other providers out and I even had service agreements with those providers. Very sad to me to think of the $$$ spent and wasted. But now I found this co and things are looking up. My service technician was prompt professional and fully diagnosed the problem.

I am back living in cool comfort and the results are fantastic. I am glad I found this company, just wish I would have found them sooner!

I've used Hobaica to replace and repair my air conditioner and was extremely satisfied so I called to see if they can do a small plumbing job. No problem. The tech, John Miranda, let me know when he was on his way. When he arrived, he was extremely pleasant. He was efficient, courteous, professional and friendly. He took care of my problem and even went the extra mile with his extra clean-up from whoever was lazy enough to paint over pipe threading. Highest recommendation for sure!

Yes there was an extra fee for after hours however Brandon L was very professional and thorough. He was upfront and honest about our issues and how to fix them. Overall I highly recommend Hobaica.

My air conditioning unit in my home went out on 9-11-19.  I received quotes from several different companies.  Hobaica had the lowest price with the best warranty.  I actually chose Hobaica to replace my A/C unit because of their customer service.   Andy Hobaica went above and beyond customer service!  He worked his schedule around mine to make it happen as quickly and painlessly as possible.  He was efficient, knowledgeable & friendly.  The next morning he had Jorge & Reggie at my house at 7am, ready to install! They too went above & beyond with their customer service.  They were done with the install sooner than they quoted me.  My house startling cooling down earlier than they had promised.  So not only did they stand by their word, they did better than they promised!  I can't recommend them enough!! They are a family owned company and they made me feel like I was part of their family too!

We had Hobaica do an energy audit for only $100. They did arrange for Contractors to install attic insulation, replace ducts, and seal duct work. Cost of work was likely higher than if we'd hired a contractor, but they did get us a rebate from SRP. If the story ended there they would get a 4 star review.

After the audit, they determined our system was very old. It was. The high powered sales forces came after us. Didn't we want a state of the art HVAC system for $16K plus, no. How about $12 K, no. This went on and on. Our system was old but worked for now. Then we needed a repair, a fan relay was having fits. They refused to fix it because it was too old. Another HVAC repair company later fixed it for $300. The AC drainipipe filled with water and backed up in the furnace area, NO, they didn't want to fix it cause the system was too old! Eventually, the repairman shop vacuumed out the water. From the top of the company to the lowest guy visiting the house the sales pitch was on. You must buy your brand new HVAC system right now, there is no other choice.

Finally, 2 years later a major item did die. We got an estimate from another HVAC company. No hard sales pitch, no promises of special rates, SRP discounts, nice easy interview. This price was $1000 less than Hobaica. Please, avoid the pressure, don't call Hobaica for anything.

I can't say enough about this company, they are fabulous. Quick, courteous, and always a joy to work with. No AC repair ever comes cheap unfortunately, so if I have to pay for it, I want someone respectful who knows what they are doing and isn't going to try and take me for all I'm worth.

Both times I've called Hobaica, Brent has been the one to come for service, and both times we've gotten above and beyond service for a fair price. Sadly, our unit is almost 17 years old and will need to be replaced soon. When that happens, we definitely plan on using them again.

Hi!

I just had Hobaica services out to my home for the 2nd time. The first time was for a AC unit problem in the middle of summer, (and you have to respect the nice guy who gets on the roof at that time!) and the 2nd time was for a plumbing problem. Both of them were minor fixes and both of the guys were great, polite and respectful. They also explained the issues and explained my options in a way I could understand!  I was impressed that their pricing seemed fair too. They are also great on updating you on timing from their office. I recommend this company!

I've known the folks at Hobaica for a few years through my business, so when we needed a new roof-top HVAC unit, we called them. They did an excellent job and we're very happy with the results. They checked the unit after a month to make sure it was working perfectly, and they're always available for questions or concerns. I'd recommend them for any heat, AC or plumbing needs.

If there were Zero stars I would rate that. I had a tech come out on Saturday 3-27-21 to do a routine service check of my AC on ground and Air Handler in attic. My unit is only 3 years only and is a Bryant 5 ton and Carrier air handler. I was told I need a capacitor on my unit outside the Bryant.  Now I know these thing do only last about 3 to 5 years so I knew I might be due. The tech quoted me $498 to replace it. I was floored and he tried to do his best on explaining the cost. I asked for the part # and he was hesitant to give it to me. I did finally get the quote and I looked up the part # on line and the capacitor was $65 at Home Depot. This is a 5 minute fix when you have the part. I gave them they $49 service call and called another company who replaced it for $50 total. The capacitor Hobaica quoted me wasn't even the correct part. I called Monday morning to nicely express my concern with the manager and got the same song and dance. He really didn't care but I felt a sense that he knew I was on to them and told me his cost on the part was $120. Still $498 to put in something that took 5 minutes was crazy. Beware of Hobaica.

We used to be customers at another company, but it was more expensive than Hobaica.  After reading the reviews we decided to call Hobaica for an A/C check up when we moved into our new house.   We were satisfied with the work, so we decided to call them back for the furnace/heating check up.  There was a miscommunication, or I should say missing appointment when I booked it online.  For some reason it didn't show up in their system, but they were able to reschedule an appointment within the same week and the tech came out, was very informative and we did sign up for the Silver Total Care plan.  Not much to say about this other than the professionalism of the tech and the work that was performed was satisfactory.

Hobaica replaced our HVAC 4 years ago. That's when they started down the 5 star path and stayed there. They have come out a few times. That's when we met Binh. He was just here to work on the system and I figured I would provide this review. We have absolutely no reason to call anyone else but Hobaica and always ask for Binh!

These guys provided an easy way to have the entire HVAC system for my home to be replaced. 2 years later they called to come out and check up on the system. It was operating at peak performance and they even cleaned my outside condenser coils at no charge.
 I cannot tell you how much I appreciate a job done correctly the first time. Well worth every dollar I spent! And 10X's more important to me than a good warranty!
 The Rep. Jaycee that came out today is an asset to this fine business! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Hobaica! Job well done!

Hobaica Services has been around a long time and their reputation for high quality service will not disappoint you.  After my A/C going out twice within a week and tripping the breaker,  I thought that I was going to need a new unit. But the technician, Emir, found the issue and resolved it within 30 minutes. It was  a melted wire in the attic and he replaced it. I had previously paid Charles Roberts come out to check on  the A/C just 6 weeks previous to this and they said all was fine. No more Charles Roberts for me. I will always call Hobaica from now on and ask for Emir. He was great!

Hoping to find a reasonable AC tech company, set up an appointment for 7-31.  Took a total of less than 1 hour to diagnose and fix.  Tech was great  Turns out it was a bad contactor.  Paid $363.00 and felt good until I looked up the material cost at less than $20.00.  So labor and markup for 1 hr labor was $320..?  Remember I paid your trip charge also.   This is why AC companies have rep's for excessive charges....guess I will continue to look for someone reasonably priced.

Appreciate the response, quality gets you in the door, reasonable pricing gains you return opportunities.   Since you think this is fair...I will try someone else next time.

I learned of this company by reading other's suggestions as to what company they use for their AC needs. I made a call and talked to the nicest person that explained that they could send someone out within a day. Quick turnaround was much appreciated with temps over 100. Chase visited and listened to us to figure out what had been going on with the air conditioning. Then, in temps that of course were very high, he went up on the roof and examined our system. We knew it was an old system. We learned it was 20 or more years old. Not surprised. He was thorough with his explanation and then showed us a video he made of our AC roof system. We wanted it replaced and knew we had found just the company to do so.  Then later that same day, Andy Hobaica came out. Wow, was he ever fun to deal with. He explained thoroughly what the costs would be and yet gave us the option on the levels they could provide. We thought the prices were very reasonable. My wife and I really enjoyed his visit and not only did we go with a great Lennox product, we also learned from Andy the best restaurants in the area. He is quite knowledgeable about the Phoenix food scene! We had just moved here a few days earlier and he was very helpful. My wife took copious notes, and we plan to visit the best of the best that Andy recommended! What a great guy!! The system was installed two days later by Ethan and Angel. These guys were very professional. Watching the installation with the crane was fun. Everything was explained to us before they left. Again, very impressed with this crew as well. Later that day, the system just didn't seem to be producing the cooling effect we knew it was capable of. We immediately called Hobaica and they sent out Steve within the hour. He was in the attic and on the roof analyzing the problem.He found the problem, which was a small faulty wiring problem that was no fault of Hobaicas. He remedied the situation and assured us that the temps in the house would start to go down within a half hour. He was spot on. We are so pleased with this family company and are sure to recommend them to our friends.

Hobaica replaced our AC unit and we had a great experience. Getting a quote was super easy and Simon was very informative when going over everything with us. He gave us some time to consider our options and was on top of it when we called back giving him the go ahead.

Installation day was smooth sailing. Hobaica had everything covered and timed out perfectly, including coordinating the crane that was needed to get the new unit on our roof. All of the technicians on site were friendly and efficient.

After a few weeks, they sent out a technician to do a quality inspection. He was able to tighten up a loose piece and was extremely friendly too.

I'd recommend Hobaica and will definitely continue to use them moving forward

Always great service from Hobaica. The team is so friendly and knowledgeable. I've used them for AC services and just recently plumbing too. I got a text message of the tech's name and photo after he confirmed his arrival time. This is a really great security feature. Quite awesome actually. I've never had that with any other company.  Terrill J was great and had such a sunny disposition. He's great with customers and easily fixed our plumbing issue.

I recently bought a home and was looking for an AC company to use for my cooling and heating needs. I set up an initial service with Hobaica, I worked from home for the 4 hour window they gave me (8am- noon). At 1130 I hadn't heard from them so I called to check the status, they said I was next. Noon came and went, and they never showed. Two stars because they might be good, no way for me to know, they missed the appointment. That is not a good first impression.

Hobaica Services technican, Justin Driver, replaced 2 elements in our water heater.  Our water heater was under warranty so manufacturer had to be notified and approval given.  This is not a easy process.  Justin accomplished this, picked up elements, installed and tested for leaks.  Thank you Hobaica and Justin for a job Well Done.  The water heater went down 3 days before ThankGiving.

While performing a major repair the tech missed replacing a major component. Did not include the part or issue in the quote or repair. They then charged $100 service fee to come back out claiming it was not covered under warranty. Their customer service people ignored all attempts to discuss the issue.

Keep looking; there are MANY HVAC service companies in Phoenix who treat you much better.

My air went out late in the day and they came out same day and recharged the unit., and charged me $260. That was fine, but I was told that I needed a leak check and that it  couldn't be done because it was too dark. So, I booked a leak check a couple of days later, only to find that he had to get up in the ceiling to do it and did so with a drop light anyway. He could have done it the first night he was there for the single service charge. That of course was an additional $290 charge. Of course with my luck there is a leak and a coil will have to be replaced for an additional $1165, with no credit for the $290 that I spent having it diagnosed To me this is a total rip off. They set it up so that they have to come out to your house for the maximum number of visits and therefore the maximum in charges!

This company totally ripped us off charging $678.69 for a $120.00 condenser fan motor and tried to get my wife to buy a contactor for our ac system for $279.85 which thankfully she declined and I replaced myself for under $15.00.

We've had a relationship with Hobaica for over 10 years.  They have both installed new units and preformed routine maintenance through their comfort care program at several of our homes.   I can say without any hesitation, that Hobaica's staff from the office personnel to the technicians are extremely professional, responsive and fairly priced.  I spoke with Kelly this morning to get a unit inspected on a home that we are considering purchasing.  With such short  notice, Kelly was able to get a technician out to our house today...amazing on a Friday to schedule is.  Kelly is a keeper!!  Mary W.

So I made a decision to replace my AC/heat pump and phoned Hobaica earlier this week for an appointment to come assess and quote. The individual answering the phone offered an appointment on Friday (today) between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. I answered all their contact questions. I was told that their rep would be here. Nothing was mentioned about a phone call to confirm.
This morning I waited for the rep. I was busy doing other things away from my phone and didn't notice calls or voice messages that came in. At 11:20 a.m. with no show by Hobaica, I looked at my phone. I picked up a voice mail message (left at 10:52 a.m.) that said if I didn't call back by 11:00 a.m. the appointment was cancelled. Nobody came to our door, nobody rang the doorbell, Hobaica didn't show up. I didn't make an appointment to get a phone call; I made an appointment for someone to show up. They simply didn't. This is absolutely terrible customer service. The essence of this is that it is all about them and nothing about me as a potential customer. Oh and FYI, I'm located 5 minutes from their offices.

Have used Hobaica Services several times now. Had a major renovation project that required some outside the box solutions and they came through. Great communication from Kyle and Mike and equally great work by Ethan and Angel. These guys charge fair rates, do great work and can be trusted. Highly recommend them.

Many thanks to Amer Khudher who came out today for a couple of electrical issues. He called about an hour before the scheduled time frame saying he could come earlier if that worked for us. It was indeed good for us and we appreciated the call. Such a nice guy! He checked an outlet that we thought was not working and it turned out to be fine. He explained what to do should it trip again. That took  all of 3 minutes! Then he gave us a quote on a new smoke alarm which was very reasonable. Was planning to set up a time to replace the smoke alarm but discovered it wasn't 12 years old but only 8.
I will positively request Amer the next time I need electrical work and would encourage anyone reading this review do the same.

I cannot recomend Hobaica.  I used Hobaica for the better part of a decade.  

Time after time there were issues, first with the cost or service charge.  Sometimes small sometimes larger than that and there would be many consultations.  Later, a third party warranty I'd obtained fairly often didn't meet their muster.

But the end came when my thermostat died.  I called Hobaica and asked for an estimate.  A call back first thing 20 minutes later resulted in this response:

$500

Say what? I said.

Our new thermostats are $500.00.

But I can buy a deluxe programmable electronic thermostat at Walmart for $50.  Why would I pay you $450 to install a thermostat?

$500.  That's our price. Click.

Five hundred dollars for a thermostat, from a long-term customer, don't go there.  Too many other options.

Ron Johnson, their service tech, is terrific! We had our floral cooler go out  this afternoon and we called Hobaica immediately.  It only took a couple of hours and Ron came to our shop, and he worked very diligently to fix the old lady. Sure enough after a few hours, she was purring like a kitten. No matter that it was a Friday afternoon/evening. No matter that he had to climb up on top of the cooler and take the compressor apart, in an area that was about 3 x 3.  Hobaica is definitely the #1 air conditioning company to use in the valley.

A young man named Grant came out and fixed my AC for a great price and he didn't try to sell me expensive options.  Another well known company tried to convince  me to replace an expensive  part that would of been over 1400.00.  This other company also seemed to try to sell me a new unit.  Hobaica and Grant didnt replace an expensive part but still got my AC working great. We came home yesterday at about 5pm and realized our AC that was under 4 years old was not cooling. It was about 108 degrees outside so we were feeling nervous. Called Hobaica Services and they sent Ian out to fix it. We have had Ian out before and he is very knowledgeable and kind! My earlier review was knee-jerk and unfair to Hobaica's Services.  I want to extend my heartfelt apology to Hobaica's in general, and to Andy Hobaica and to Chase C. in particular.  Chase, thank you for coming out this morning and talking me off the ledge.

You can't do any better than Hobaica's for residential HVAC service in the Valley. I've had Hobaica's install the last two comfort systems on my house.  The first one was in 2004 and the most recent one was August 2020. But I do want to issue a word of caution and it has nothing to do with Hobaica's.  If you have a home that has a traditional gas furnace or you have a gas-pack AC unit, be careful about moving to a heat pump for your home's heating needs. When we had our rooftop Trane gas pack unit replaced with a Bosch heat pump last August, we were blown away (no pun intended) by how quiet and efficient the Bosch AC unit is.  The summer energy savings are incredible.  However, now that we're in winter, I'm not as crazy about the Bosch unit because it has a difficult time keeping my house comfortable.  The unit is operating perfectly and Hobaica's is doing an excellent job of supporting it, but the bottom line is that a heat pump will never push out the kind of BTUs that a gas furnace can.  You know that nice, hot, blast you get when the funace fan turns on and you can feel it across the room? A heat pump just can't make that kind of heat.  You're also going to pay higher utility bills in the winter because a heat pump is quite a bit more expensive to run than a furnace.  I wish someone had explained that to me before I was talked into a heat pump.  However, Chase C. from Hobaica's made some adjustments to the thermostat config and he also suggested adding humidifers to help with the distribution of warm air in the house.  We'll give that a try.  

Here's the bottom line for me on this issue: In Phx we need a decent home heater for, what, eight weeks out of the year. Perhaps I should just learn to throw on a sweater or a second pair of socks as the price to pay during those eight weeks for the awesome AC capabilities of the Bosch unit. Because, realistically, come next August when it's 106 degrees outside at2AM, I'm going to be comfortable as can be with my Bosch AC and I doubt I'll think much about being a little chilly in January.

And now I'd like to talk about Chase C. If he decides to leave the HVAC business, he could become a psychologist. He talked me off the ledge about how/why the heat pump was doing what it's doing. And then we managed to find a couple non-HVAC topics to talk about and, wow, Chase is a knowledgable chap! Thanks for spending part of your Friday morning with me, Chase!

REVIEWER'S ADVICE: If you're planning to move from a traditional gas furnace to a heat pump, make sure you've got double or triple pane windows in your house and it also isn't a bad idea to add more insulation to your attic and walls.  We did those items several years ago, so I hate to think how uncomfortable we'd be if we hadn't taken those steps.  If you have drafty old single pane windows, DO NOT consider installing a heat pump in your home. You'll be cold all winter.

My air conditioning stopped functioning  on Monday (in July) at 5:00 PM. I called around looking for a repair  service to get me up and running quickly. I found Hobaica Services. On Tuesday Hobaica Services sent repair technician Binh T. to diagnose and repair the issue.

Binh showed up promptly and diagnosed why my system was not running. He explained to me the options I had to repair my system. When Binh left on Tuesday he explained that Hobaica would need to order a  part to complete the repair, he explained the problem and the cost.  Binh had the house cooling down before he left on Tuesday. On Wednesday Binh came with the needed part and repaired the system permanently.

Our experience was great with Binh and Hobaica, my wife and I are very  satisfied with the response time, communication of breakage and fix  strategy, and the final result. I enthusiastically recommend Binh and  Hobaica.

Ridiculously and surprisingly excellent service! I got a referral from my dad who had used them before and of course I trust who my dad would trust but I didn't expect to get a free inspection just by dropping my dad's name. Usually you get a credit or discount if you are the one who refers someone, to be applied on your next service but in this case I was the one who got a free inspection because my dad referred me! I was thrilled! The technician was professional, never pushed anything that I didn't need but he did recommend a part that he said looked worn and would likely need to be replaced in the near future. Don't hesitate to call them!

Not happy with latest service call.   Nearly $500 for a dual capacitor replacement.   Literally a half hour of labor and I find it hard to believe a capacitor would cost over $400.    Seriously, tech did not even look at the rest of my system or clean the unit.   Not sure what servicing means anymore.   Disappointed and will not use this company again.

Well, I called into hobaica to have my ac serviced on my home I just moved into, to make sure everything is running well.
The service person I spoke to on the phone was a very friendly gentleman. I felt I was going to receive great customer service.  
The service man who came out to check my ac went out side and checked my thermostat.  Then went into my attic . He was up there for a bit.  And then came down and told us about how we will need to replace our blower, gave us a quote of 745.00 dollars , then tells us , I know we are expensive so you can probly get the part from Grainger cheaper and find some one to install it for you .
My husband realized after he had left our blower would not turn off at all. So I called my brother in law in California who does ac. And he tells me to go in the attic and call him on video . Where he begins to tell me that the man they sent out switched the wires on my blower so that it would constantly stay on and not shut off..
I can't believe someone would do this to a family.
Especially after telling the service agent on the phone how we are military and  he told me the Owner was military as well. I thought we would get honest customer service ..

We had a very bad experience with these folks a number of years ago.   they offered to come to the home and assess the damage, but i do not make it a practice of having potentially untrustworthy people moving about on my property.  

i thought we agreed to go our separate ways [giving up warrantee services on the new unit].  but we are now receiving solicitations to use their services - so i guess they think we have a short memory.   as our friends that move to the area and ask about service providers will attest - we don't!

Summary:  My air conditioner would stop working from time to time for short periods of time.   In July, a Hobaica tech came to my house and did an inspection and regular maintenance and said the unit was fine.   Three days later, the AC isn't working properly.   I was forced to fix it myself because it was the weekend.   Hobaica did NOT address or fix the issue but in five minutes of research, I did.   POOR SERVICE.  

Details:   On July 24, 2019, I had a Hobaica service technician come out to my house for a AC tuneup.   The tech arrived on time and gave me a call when he was on his way.  When the Hobaica tech arrived, I told the tech my AC would sometimes stop blowing cold air and only blow warm air.   The tech later inspects my AC unit and says everything looks and tested good.  

Three days later on a Saturday, my AC is blowing hot air and the house heats up to over a 100F.   My family and I plus our pets were forced to leave and went to a family member's house.  

Long story short:  I watched one Youtube video and learned it was likely a bad capacitor.  The next day (Sunday), I went on the roof and visually inspected all four capacitors in my AC unit to find one of the capacitors had a noticeably bulge on the top and on the bottom.   I used a multi meter and tested the capacitor and verified it was bad.  Mind you, it took about five minutes to do this.  

I don't understand how a trained Hobaica technician missed this on July 24.  I have no HVAC experience and after one YouTube video and five minutes of inspection, I was able to figure out the problem.   I was pretty upset because I had to uproot my family and spend time and money to fix something that a Hobaica technician failed to address or resolve.  

I do NOT recommend Hobaica.   I expected top notch, knowledgeable Hobaica HVAC service and technicians but they fell short.   I understand you can't catch all issues with a AC.  But in this case, I pointed it out and they failed to address it.   At the end of the day, it was a quick, basic fix which I fixed because they failed to do so.

I wish that there was more starts, 'Cause HOBAICA Services Inc. Tooked my A/C Unit challenge, I called them yesterday in a 109 degrees Phoenix summer around 2pm, I explained that my a/c Unit wasn't cooling enough that I believe that there was a leak in the tubing, cause, I saw frost on it, Gent attending the call mentioned that, they're busy, but if I didn't mind to wait, that his technician TED K. Would arrive around 5, 6 or 7pm, I thank him for taking my short notice challenge, & TED K arrived around 4pm, (due to the pandemic times, MASKED ON & protected following all health procedures,) had  to putted away all my dogs, TED K was understanding about it, I explained the challenge & he started checking out my a/c Unit, I explained to him that HOBAICA it's my 2ND CHOICE OPTION, & that GOETTL A/C was my 1st choice & they didn't do anything for me, the technician who tooked care of me, as soon as he saw my TRANE A/C unit, he said well sir, definitely you need to change the unit it's almost 20 years old, when we not even start checking out for problems, I said I've take care of the unit, it's just freezing the outside pipe like you can see, he repeated, again sir, it's a 20 years Unit needs to be replaced, I ask about prices, which me mentioned that could run from 10,000 up to 20,000 or more depending in what I'm looking for, I mentioned that I couldn't afford it, he said we financed, you could be paying between 150.00 to 275.00 a month, I said thanks but no, to please fix it somehow that at least gave me this summer, he said I don't understand how do you want to put money in the garbage, he gave me an estimate of 2,100.00 just to fixed it, patch it, put a bandage like he said, he wanted to change my air filter & check out the temperature inside the house, but I mentioned about all my dogs, so I did it for him, changed the A/C filter & so.. come back, he's checking out my unit & definitely said that either 2,100.00 to fix it RIGHT  NOW or don't waste your money & buy a new a/c Unit from us, I said please stop, I'll paid for his visit $79.00 & luckily I find out about HOBAICA, from Mrs. J. GONZALO Which attended to school with MR. Hobaica, TED K HOBAICA technician checked my A/C Unit & it's low in the freon but still worth it to keep it running, for another season or two he said the only challenge was that the a/c filter inside the house was dirty, got replaced since GOETTL technician requested, (knowing according to GOETTL tech I turned off my A/C Unit cause it wasn't working properly, so we had horrible hot night) but he never waited to check if the machine was or not cooling enough, thing that TED K did, he waited for the numbers to go up to the point of saying that sir, your A/C Unit it's fine & running, there's no leak, the challenge was that we you had a dirty a/c filter doesn't allow the air flow, so the cold has to go somewhere and freezes the pipes outside & inside your attic too, please keep your filter clean & no challenge for you for now, God bless TED K. God bless HOBAICA a/c thanks so much for being HONEST & RESPONSIBLE please keep helping people of the valley like you're doing, thanks so much for doing your job. LS

I recently wrote a scathing review of Hobaica. I was left far less than satisfied with my interaction with them. After the owner read my review he offered me a full refund. He did not ask me to remove my review. While I appreciate their amends, I will not use their services in the future. That said I do not think ongoing negativity is warranted. We recently need to replace our old AC systems so we called some contractors to do the estimate for us. We've been so impressed by Simon from the Hobaica services. He is very kind, informative, and professional. He is the only one who invited me to go up to the attic to see what were the actual issues with our AC systems, and he is the only one who showed us how to improve our AC systems' efficiency by simply using the water to clean the system. My family have been customers of Hobaica since the 1960's. My parents were friends of Paul Hobaica and his wife through our church. Hobaica has done multiple replacements and services for my family for years. They replaced my A/C unit several years ago. Last Sunday June 14th I arrived home after a 3 day weekend to find my A/C not working. Checked the breakers, etc, then called the 24 hour service line for help.

Had a A/C and Furnace installed along with a humidifier.  They sold a top of the line AC/Furnace that would fit into the space of the old one.  The cost was +-10,000$.  What came was a machine that did not fit into the space.  New air intakes had to be installed.  The high merv filters that I was promised couldn't be used because they didn't have enough room and I'm stuck with only the cheapest filters available because the monstrosity can't get enough air.  
The humidifier needs cleaning from them every three months.  
The people are nice but not especially competent..  Only one can service the humidifer and that because he reads the instructlon book each time he comes.  Otherwise they just say we don't sell many of those and I'll have to send someone else. ..and the buck gets passed around.
There is an inline water filter on the humidifier that according to the instruction book must be changed.  I've had the thing almost 3 years and they've never changed it.
It's broken right now awaiting service.
Best advice stay as far away from them as possible when you have to purchase a new AC and Furnace.  They maybe can repair them but anything else is letting them dig deeply into you wallet for something that will only marginally work.

I called recently to ask about their plumbing and electrical services and spoke to Naomi.  She was delightful.  She answered all my questions and was happy to repeat some of her answers. (Getting older can be challenging!). She resolved an error involving our scheduled service calls for our AC quickly and efficiently.  Talk about having a smile in her voice, Naomi had one hands down!

After searching for a company to come and try and fix my 21year old air conditioning system, I came across Hobaica on APS, better business bureau and people I knew and all gave good reviews.
I was a first time customer but was treated as if I was doing business with them forever. I called late in the day and yet they still came the same day. Even in follow up, they always came in time frame they stated, in fact they were usually early. They always called when they were on their way, every person was polite, efficient, and professional including Jimmy, angel, Carlos, and Steven just mention a few.
I feel comfortable in recommending them to friends and family.

They are not an honest company. They were trying to push my sister-in-laws mother into buying a new A/C unit. They were assuming that she was going to do it and kept asking when they could start. She said she was going to get a second opinion and called one her son-in-law recommended and it was a $30 fix. I have also used them and they serviced it then a few days later the A/C went out and cost me $800 to fix. Never Again!

Called on 6/27, Sunday, to schedule service, they were very prompt and scheduled me for later that day. I received a call from the technician about 1 hour later who advised me he was booked solid and wouldn't be able to get to me until the following day. He stated someone would follow up to set a time with me for Monday. I never received a call so I reached out Monday only to find out I was not scheduled and the earliest they have is now Wednesday. I went with another company that came out the same day, and will be installing a new system for me on Thursday.

I contacted Hobaica on a recommendation from W. D. Manor Mechanical man were they spot on. From my initial phone conversation with James to James coming over and spending 3 hours @ my house 2 of those in the attic. I had air flow problems and I knew my flexible ductwork was deteriorating. James came up with a professional solution I scheduled the work and Dammond and Ivan ( five stars for both ) came in and kicked *#%. Clean,professional and polite. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND HOBAICA!!! Plus the owner went to St. Mary's grade and high school!!! GO KNIGHTS!!!!

$570 for a call out fee plus a regular capacitor change out. Just let that sink in. I sent the tech on his way and called the manager. The manager was out to lunch so I left a message asking for a refund of the call out fee since this quote doesn't come close to a normal fee. No call back yet.

For reference, I had it replaced for $140 with a different company and it is working great. Other quotes I received are $212 from Bumble Bee, $176 from AZ Duke of Air, $276 from Day & Air (includes two subsequent maintenance calls for free in the package), etc.

This is completely unacceptable. Don't price gouge your customers.

Update: I was emailed a receipt and I explained the situation again via email. The manager said they were having voicemail trouble but told me via email that to make it right they will waive the call out charge. We will agree to disagree on pricing.

Hobaica was recommended to me by a friend when our A/C unit gave up a little over a year ago. As we got quotes for replacement units I found that there was no distinct difference between one company or the other until Hobaica showed up. The rep who talked with my wife spent nearly an 2 hours explaining the installation process and why it would be necessary to make certain changes. He even took the time to come back and spend time with me (another 2 hours) to clarify any questions and concerns that I had about the units we were looking at. Once we made the decision the difference in choosing Hobaica was even more evidenced. Not only was the crew courteous and efficient during the installation they found problems with the past installation and duct work of our old AC unit and repaired them as they went along as an added bonus. Hobaica went so far out of their way to help us we were feeling like part of a family. We had several rebates on our unit and their staff helped get the paper work and rebate information together, completed the paper work and submitted the forms that did not require our signatures. The follow ups after the installation made it even more convincing that we made the right choice. 30, 90, 180 day inspections to make sure the unit didn't have any hidden demons. They also offer an extended no worry coverage plan. Our last unit was plagued with leaks, 4 in 8 years and not a single repair covered gases or anything else for that matter. With Hobaicas no worry warranty plan we don't have to worry about surprises down the road should they occur. We opted for a Lennox unit and so far we have been pleased not only with Hobaica but also the Lennox product. As an added bonus our electric bill has dropped nearly $150 since the installation. I cant say enough good things about this company and its people. They are good honest folks and they have me as a customer for life. I refer all of my friends to these people because of my experience and trust in their company and people. You would do yourself a disservice to not at least talk to them for your AC needs.

Hobaica Services is a top notch company.  Their employees are professional, experienced and thorough.  Brandon came out to do a routine warranty visit which was initiated by Hobaica just to make sure that the system they had installed in our home several months prior was running properly and that we were happy etc. He's a genuinely nice professional young man. He took time to show that he cared about us as individuals not just as a customer. We're very happy with our system. Five stars from us!!

I cannot recommend Hobaica.  We do not like-a Hobaica.  We had nothing but problems with them.  Our sales guy was terrible, he recommended and installed units that were too large for the space available so they did not get enough air flow and turned off due to overheating or broke down regularly.  It was 115 + the month it was installed.  It took 2 months before Hobaica finally broke down and rebuilt a new block wall near the untis to include ventilation to aid in cooling the units.  The ventilation was still not enough because over the next 6 years, we had one problem after the other.  And I am talking major problems-like blower motors going out (we are on the 3rd one in 6 years) condenser fan motor, RU capacitor, IFM, electronic control module, ignition control board... each fix was a very expensive fix but fortunately, during the first 5 years, it was all under warranty.  I complained on several occasions and requested a replacement unit for the one in particular that had more problems but was told NO.  This unit has had THOUSANDS of dollars of repairs on it in it's short 6 year life.  Now that it's out of warranty, those yearly problems will be coming out of OUR pocket and still, Hobaica refuses to acknowledge that it is a lemon unit and should have been replaced.  The other unit has issues as well, just not as many. Andy-one of the Hobaica sons who was out for the last maintenance was really mean to our dog (a tiny 6 lb. chihuahua) he yelled at her and chased her off.  He didn't wear his booties in the house and he got his filthy, greasy hands all over my counter top leaving black smudges all it-gross.  Come on, wash your hands or don't touch the customers furniture!  And back during the original install, they ruined the carpet below the attic entry by spilling something that would not wash up no matter how hard I tried and they ruined the carpet on our stairs by dripping I don't even know what all over them as they brought out the old units.    If ZERO stars was an option, that' is what I would have chosen.

I contacted Hobaica to replace a leaking roof jack to my a/c.  They came out the next day and gave me an estimate and scheduled the install for 2 days later.  Angel and Jorge arrived on time to install the jack.  It was quite a job as they had to move the a/c a couple of inches.  3 hours later they were done & cleaned up everything nicely and now I don't have a leak!  I would always use and trust Hobaica.  Their service is excellent!  Thanks!

I recently signed up for the Hobaica service contract including both AC and plumbing work.  Over the 4th of July holiday, my washing machine stopped working.  I was able to get Brandon to come out a day later.  He was able to fix that (it was a clogged drain hose), and also fixed a couple of other plumbing problems I had that weren't as urgent. He arrived on time, was polite, and explained things to me.

We had Hobaica come out for a season change check up and tuneup on our air conditioner in May.   They had a special for under $20 at the time so my son warned me they are going to sell you something, that is just to good to be true.   The service man and checked and serviced the unit.   Well the serviceman came down off of our roof, said the service was done and everything was fine.  We asked him about a programmable thermostat, he told us their price or that we could probably purchase one ourselves since my son is very handy.   I was IMPRESSED.   Fabulous timely service, on time, polite and we have just had a summer of great air conditioniing!

OUTSTANDING customer service.  I called my home warranty company on a Sunday when my air went out, they told me they dispatched the work order to a place I hadn't heard about.  I called the # provided, and learned they were closed on weekends -- I live in PHX -- it's summer -- I needed another option.  So, I called back, and they said I could find out and do an out of pocket approach.  So, I called Hobaica Services, and got a real person immediately -- Thomas.  He was VERY good.  He actually talked me through 3-4 things over the phone of what it could be, walked me through each step of the way, and ultimately said back to me, you know I could come out -- but, let's try xyz first, and if that solves it, we're good -- and if that doesn't work, we'll try 1 more thing.  Thomas was more interested in listening to what I had to say and making a POTENTIAL customer happy, than trying to get a quick buck.  There is no doubt I will use them again, first call every time.

My AC was having trouble yesterday.  Couldn't figure it out.  A brand new unit not working.  My regular guy moved away so I need to find someone new.

The highest rated AC technician on yelp was booked till next week.  Ok, 112 on Sunday, better get her done.  I called Hobaica and within an hour Jeff (the technician) was in the attic working away.  He worked all the way till 6 to get the job done.

I was referred to Hobaica by a company that services industrial/commercial businesses for air conditioning and heating. Hobaica Services Inc. is a family-owned and operated business since 1952. Hobaica received very high ratings on their service and reputation, so I contacted them because my Mother's air conditioning and heating unit broke down, as it was very old (20 years). I called Hobaica and not only were they friendly and helpful, they replaced my Mother's air conditioning and heating unit promptly, about a week and a half, after I first made the call. The technicians went to my Mother's house in Phoenix to provide her with a free estimate for a Lennox A/C and heating unit. The price was very reasonable, considering all of the services that they provide (free estimate, quick service, delivery of the new unit, installation of the new unit, roof/duct modification for the new unit, haul-away of the old unit, and a follow-up inspection in a couple of weeks to make sure the system is running smoothly). I was very happy with their services, and my Mother is also very happy, as her old unit broke down at a time when it's not cold in Phoenix and it's not scorching hot yet. I highly recommend Hobaica Services Inc. Their prices are very reasonable and their service is fantastic.

Steven from Hobaica just left my personal training studio and fixed the problem. I have to say that I always struggle with trusting service companies as I've had previous companies try to sell me snake oil.

This is the 2nd time I've used Hobaica, and I trust them 100%. They did amazing. Chase took care of me the first time, and since he's a manager now he sent Steven who was just as good.

My husband has been using Hobaica services for 30 years! They have always been honest, courteous, prompt, and fair. We have our units serviced yearly and have never been disappointed. I had two units serviced yesterday. Steve was on time, professional, courteous, thorough and did a great job! He took a video of the units on the roof, which was excellent, so that I could really see and understand what was happening with both units. He serviced both air conditioning units, tuning them up, and cleaning out the coils. Super service. Fair prices. Ease of mind knowing you are working with a well established company:)

My father's AC unit went out in his home in Sun City Grand.  We had used Hobaica in the past with great results when we lived in AZ (we live in CA now), so recommended he give Hobaica a call.   They were courteous, friendly, prompt and their installers worked on their day off to meet our schedule - thanks for that fellas!

It's always a bummer when the AC (or your roof) goes out because it's a lot of money and somewhat unsatisfying - not like getting a new car or a fabulous vacation.  So if you have to spend the money, make sure you get the best quality with equal customer service - and be confident you won't need to see them for another 10 years!

Had a service call from Gavin W today. He was able to fix my garbage disposal easily and provided very helpful tips to save money short and long term on a few plumbing services Ive been putting off. I was also glad to hear about the additional services for electric, which I wasn't aware of, and the service plans available too.

All in all it was a great third visit from Hobaica and I was incredibly impressed. Their technicians are on point, well trained, consistent, know their craft and value doing what's right for the customer. I'd recommend them hands down.

One of this company's employees parks his truck in his driveway everyday in our neighborhood in Desert Ridge at 4354 E. Abraham Lane, Phoenix, AZ. It's a violation of the CC&Rs and complaints have been made to the Desert Ridge Compliance Coordinator. It's been going on for over a month. I'm guessing they have received letters about it and are ignoring them. Why? Maybe they don't own the house and the warnings are going in the trash. I don't know. But the company knows he's taking the truck home. Where do they think he's parking it? It's basically a billboard for their company in the neighborhood so they think it's great. Crapping up neighborhoods is a terrible policy and leads to neighborhood blight. Get it out of here!

My AC unit looked pretty bad and I was always weary of AC companies as I always felt they will try to sell you the most expensive unit without really understanding your usage... until now. I asked for a service and started with Jeremiah who climbed up on the roof and took lots of pics. Had to break the bad news to me that I needed a new unit.

I called their offices and spoke to the receptionist and Jimmy came out to explain my options. Now it's at this point that he could've used all sorts of AC Mumbo jumbo and confuse the hell out of me. On the contrary, he really made things easily relatable and I totally understand what he was saying and more importantly was super friendly and constantly asked me if I had any questions. Once I was comfortable with the purchase, on day of install, 2 more guys Jose and Ted introduced themselves and started the work right away. You would then think well, the sales guy is no longer to be seen but not Hobaica. Jimmy came by and confirmed the order and walked me through the install process and made sure I knew I understood everything.

Now my house is a little difficult with no attic access but Jimmy made game day decisions and came up with alternative solutions to problems. Jose and Ted finished the install and went over everything and told me that they will follow up in 2 weeks to make sure all was working.

I can't ask for a better company and the incredible reputation and more importantly the honesty and professionalism of Hobaica. I will recommend anyone looking for  HVAC solutions to just call them and no one else. Great job team Hobaica!!

They showed up the same (115 degree) day ... technician was polite, thorough, great communicator. Repaired a bad wire, I got the new customer discount which was a great deal. Could not be happier with the service from Hobaica.

Updated a month later .... a 20 year old unit finally gave out, so had it replaced. The sales visit was professional & informative (thanks Raud), not pushy. The install was great, they did what they said and on time, and left the place clean. Cannot say enough good things about this business! Replacing an A/C in the summer is a significant event, for time & temp & $, and I'd trust Hobaica to do this again.

We have used Hobaica for years to service our a/c unit.  They NEVER push to get you to buy a new one or make up fake problems.  They do an excellent job and will even give you an inspection report with photos with a 21 point inspection.  We highly recommend them.

My AC went out on the day my wife gave birth to our second son, which happened to be a 100 degree day. I had family in town to help and needed to rush to fix it correctly fast.  Raud was on time, super nice, and explained everything with detail so that I had no doubts about replacing AC , running new air ducts to balance the rooms and remove hotspots then finally sealing the air ducts. There was no pressure and when I was stressed the most he made me feel at ease.  Angel and Carlos worked their butts off and got it done fast. Hobaica also worked with me on an energy audit I had done a month earlier from a different company so they transferred it to them and got me tons of rebates from SRP to make the project affordable.  Compared to the other two companies that came and gave me quotes I am really happy with my choice going with Hobaica and would definitely recommend them to my friends.

My technician Amer  Was  Here in less than 45 minutes. I told them I just installed a new thermostat as mine went crazy. He looked at the thermostat to term and die head installed it correctly but found it had no power. He went up on my rough and put a new 3:00 a.m. fuse for the low voltage circuit in my unit and checked everything else out. As soon as he installed the new fuse the unit began to function again. I had a coupon for free service so he charged me nothing. I have been using  This company for 20 years and will continue to do so as they are very sponsor extremely knowledgeable .  They  Are the best service company I have ever used and Amer  Was just the best Tech nation ever. I would give them 10 stars if I could in highly recommend them to everyone

If you have an issue with our heating or AC, this is the company to call. We recently used Hobaica services when our AC stopped working. The technicians were friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Although they gave us options, our AC unit was old, so we decided to go with a new one. When they installed our new unit they found some problems with the way the old unit was installed and corrected them. Now with the outside temperatures soaring, our home is cool and comfortable on the inside. Thank you Hobaica!

I called this morning and informed Ronnie that the hot water in the Master shower was too hot and needed a visit from a technician.   He said he would have someone come by in the early afternoon.  I said great.  At 10:00 am Brandon called to say in about 50 minute he would there.  Brandon arrived, covered his shoes before walking into our home and 20 minutes later said the handle on the shower was not installed properly.  Our bill was $49.00.  Can't beat that.  Good service Brandon. I contacted Mike Hobaica. He came over personally, and for well over a hour he went through my attic and on my roof. Mike recommended to replace the unit instead of fixing the old one. He explained that it would be much more cost effective. He also explained the long term cost savings from a energy stand point. This was ten years ago! It was one of the best decisions we made on our house, and to do business with Hobaica's. I HIGHLY recommend Mike and his team at Hobaica Services!

I was in need of a new air conditioner for my home.  Went to three different companies all recommended by other folks.  I called Hobaica who came out discussed my comfort needs and provided me with several options. After all the bids came through I decided to accept the bid from Hobaica Services.  They came out prepped the home for removal of the old unit, installed the new unit on the home, with a giant crane in my driveway,  to turning the system on and programming thermostat.  The recycling crew came to pick up the discarded unit within a couple of hours. Appreciate all the help from James Hobaica and the gentlemen who completed the installation.

I used the Hobaica company for an estimate only in March of 2017 for my 2300 square foot home. It has been over about 7 months but I clearly remember how everything went down. I called numerous people throughout the valley to give me an estimate for a completely new AC unit/Heater combo that I was planning to replace the entire system before my old one died. I had them come out and the representative was a Hobaica family member himself. He was very nice and personable but the prices he gave me were through the roof. There was the high end model super duper dual compressor something else for 12k, the medium super fancy one about 10k and then the cheapest one was 8.8k. I was like wow those are some pretty expensive quotes but he did give me a nice informed brake down of all the charges and what they do. I ended up going with a gentleman that lives in my neighborhood who has his own business who quoted me the best price. He was able to beat their prices by 3k. He did not have a salesman come out either so I am sure that is one of the reasons it was cheaper no middleman. If you are rich and don't mind forking out lots of cash for an AC unit Hobaica is the man for the job, but I am not. My AC unit is great and even when it was 120 degrees over the summer I was loving life at 78 degrees in my house.

Cole was my tech and he was very knowledgeable about the service he was providing. He showed me how my bad part registered on the device he had. He said that I could live with the part awhile longer if I wanted or he could replace it on the spot. He did not pressure me in any way to replace the part. I often see reviews stating that so and so was not the lowest bid but provided the best service, understood me best or inspired more confidence in their ability as if best price and service are mutually exclusive.  My experience with Hobaica was different.  From the start I could tell they were about building a long term relationship with my best interest at the center.  We replaced three 17 year old central AC units based on my choice to upgrade to a more efficient system rather than needing to replace 3 units as all three were in working order.  Thus, I could be very selective about who I gave the job to and carefully consider each bid for the job.  Not only did Hobaica save me thousands (yes thousands!- Thank you Hector) over 2 other large highly regarded local companies, but they worked efficiently and completed the job in a single day with little disruption to our lives.  The crew, Angel, Ray, Eric, Phil, and Jimmy, were friendly and reflect well the high standards of their employer.  This was an expensive investment and I am very happy I selected Hobaica to provide our new AC units.  Their attention to detail, professional manner, friendly low-pressure approach easily explain why they have been successfully doing business in the valley years longer than most of their competition.

We needed a whole revamp of our AC/Heating (or the lack there of), duct work, insulation, the whole 9 yards... Raud came out was extremely personable, easy to talk to and understood what me and my husband were trying to accomplish with the money we had at hand.  We had another AC company come out, but really felt more comfortable going with Hobaica after talking with Raud.  A Couple of days later, Jimmy, Ray and Angel came out for two days... Really cleaned our attic out of the old archaic system, the smashed duct work that was in there and replaced a new heating/ac, Duct work, new ceiling vents.... They all really exceeded my expectations.  They were awesome and the did an awesome job... To say I was extremely satisfied is an understatement. My AC went out on Monday night but I hadn't realized it was not working until I got home on Tuesday after work around 7 PM. I called another company who said they were going to charge me money just to come see what was wrong so I decided instead to call Hobaica. They had someone come to my house and were there within 35 minutes. Not only did they not charge me for the inspection of the system but they were able to contact the manufacturer and find out the part was under warranty. Hobaica services saved me hundreds of dollars and provided a level of service I havent seen with any other company in the Valley. They will always get my business and I will ONLY recommend Hobacia.

The technician (David) who came to do maintenance was very thorough.  He saw a potential issue with one of our 2 units and suggested a safety condensation switch on just the one.  He didn't give us a hard sell but explained how it worked.  After we heard it made sense for us to have this switch installed.  And good thing.  When he installed it he did find that there was a plug starting that would have caused a drainage backup soon.  In fact we had had a problem a few years ago with this same unit with the drain pipe getting plugged that caused a small flood upstairs and resulted in our having to call our insurance to fix the issues it caused. So we are grateful.  Thank you David for the courtesy and expertise you show your customers.

Just about a month ago, one of my closest friends suddenly lost her husband.  Prior to his unexpected passing, they had been without AC for about a year. As it is a large expense, they were trying to save up to get a replacement.  Now that she is without him, the community of friends that surround her, were looking for a way to help her out.  One friend has a husband that works in the crane industry and was able to get crane services donated if we could get the other areas of a new AC installation covered.  We reached out to Mike, and he responded within a day stating that he was working on it.  As it turns out, Lennox donated a brand new unit, and Hobaica donated the installation and misc. parts. Mike and two of his technicians came out first thing on a Friday and had everything installed, the old unit removed and the house cool all by about 1:30, just in time to surprise her when she got home from work. THANK YOU to all of you that helped relieve this burden for our dear friend that is navigating this new journey without her husband!

Though I don't usually give 5 stars because no one believes a 5 star rating. Hobaica deserves 5 stars deserves it because they continue to hire great employees like Matt Sanzari. Prompt, polite and professional. He went over his findings with me in great detail and answered all my questions to my satisfaction.
When this AC unit quits or gives me any trouble, Hobaica will get my call and business.
We've been a customer for a couple of years and I am not shy about recommending them whenever the subject of AC units comes up.

My wife and I had our roof and A/C replaced after the Hail Storm a couple years ago, I have to say I was hesitant to use Hobaica to start with, my wifes father uses them and has been happy, he is loyal to a fault, I on the other hand more skeptical. SO we got quotes from a couple places and settled on Hobaica, After we received our quote I tried contacting them and it took over a week to get a response. But when I mentioned this they apologized and it didn't happen again. Now we are on a service plan with them and I am literally unimpressed. Nothing wrong per say but just lacking that service first mentality. They did a good job with our A/C unit so that part was okay, there communication needs work and the service guys should at least appear to care about the people they cannot sell anything to. Overall I cannot say I would recommend them to anyone but as long as my unit is under warranty I am stuck with them.  

They do offer a free filter every month if you are willing to pick it up from their office, and when they service it they do replace the filter which is nice

I highly recommend Hobaica for any service you need for your air conditioning unit. I called in the morning and Ken was at my home in the afternoon. The unit needed a new fan motor and they found it within 5 days considering we didn't even know what the unit was. Thank you Ken for such great service.

My mother used Hobaica for years and she was always pleased.   So, I have continued to used Hobaica in my home and I am never disappointed.   They arrive on time, are courteous, clean, and efficient.   I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs a new air conditioner or needs their air conditioner serviced.   This day in age, it's very hard to find a service company that you can rely on all the time, but Hobaica is that kind of company.   They are not only reliable, they are honest too

Hobaica installed a wine system that never worked properly. They came out to fix or replace virtually every mechanical element more than once a year over 4 years. When parts were under Warantee they would charge me $2000 for labor (along with a parts charge) for only a couple of hours of work. When I contacted Mike Hobiaca it took him weeks to get back to me after I left 3 messages and two unanswered emails and it was obvious he either didn't have a clue what he was talking about since he didn't bother reading the service call notes or he just didn't care. We had a few different HVAC companies come out to explain what needs to be done to rectify the problem and each one said that the unit doesn't even have the correct mechanicals for a wine room.  They are terrible and only care about charging more not fixing the problem. In the end I had to replace the entire system. Do yourself a huge favor and avoid Hobiaca.

We have been a customer of Hobaica Services for several years now and are on their service plan.  They do a check up on our air conditioning system a couple times a year.  Each and every time a 5 star rating!  On one of the occasions they made an adjustment and our system has ran colder and worked more efficiently since. Today was no exception.  Our service tech Steven, was courteous, knowledgeable and professional.  They are the best!  We highly recommend them and believe you can't go wrong with Hobaica.  Wish we had used their services years ago. they do great work, the techs wear booties inside the house which is really important to me and the cleanliness of the home, and the technician was honest and upfront with me about what my AC needed.  MY AC is 19 years old, it'll go soon, and he said you can monitor and see if it's super inefficient this summer, replace it, or replace a part and see if that works.  It's nice when they don't push you to buy a new unit right away, and give options.  Good job!

One word sums it up...CROOKS!

Ten years ago I removed the swamp cooler and had Hobaica replace it with an a/c unit. They were not the cheapest but seemed to be the most honest. Years of great customer service, then things became a nightmare quickly. I had issues with the a/c unit just shutting off and not turning back on. They blamed it on me due to installing Nest which btw was done by a professional. Ok no problem. I took Nest off and replaced it with the thermostat which was on previously. Still a/c shut off. Again they came out with a senior tech and the manager. Come to find out, it was not my fault but a technician had wired the unit improperly during a visit several months before when I had a capacitor replaced. Do you think they reimbursed me any of those charges for having a tech come out to diagnose. Nope! Two of the trips were an after hours charge so def more expensive. Sadly I let it slide and didn't pursue reimbursement. So I had them come out as I normally do for the annual service. Come to my surprise I needed the exact same part, the Capitator that was just put on 8 months prior. I told the technician to have the supervisor call me to discuss. Something didn't feel right. I told the tech I'm happy to pay for the appointment only after talking to his supervisor. Surprisingly a week later there was no call so I called and left a message for a supervisor to call me back. Another week went by and I called and left a message on their VM. Still no call back! Several weeks later I get my credit card statement and there was the a charge for service! As you could imagine I was in total disbelief.  I hadn't given anyone my credit card info. Looking through my prior receipts from them, they actually used my credit card info I had used to pay for a service earlier that year. Again, I called and asked to speak with a supervisor. ANOTHER week went by and of course no call. So, I put in a dispute with the credit card company as an unauthorized charge. Well, that got Hobaica's attention and less than a week later I got an EMAIL stating they had a charge back. And I politely replied and says yes it's true and please have a supervisor call me.  Of course no call but I did get an email from a supervisor who had the audacity to ask me what the problem was that, in fact, I should pay since I received a service. I was dumbfounded! I told him no one had permission to run a prior card that WAS NOT on file which was pulled and used from a transaction a year prior, I went on to say I've been waiting for a call back now for weeks. He replied and stated there was no record of me ever contacting them. Lies! I addressed the issue of the repeated charges which were not my fault but also during this last visit I was told the same part needed replacing. I got a reply back from the supervisor stating it was another similar part that needed replacing. Ok I'm not that dumb so I hired a different a/c company to come out. NO SURPRISE, the part that they said needed replacing was nothing but a sham! A way to extort more money out of me. This a/c company said, they could tell one was replaced but by all means nothing else needed replacing. As a matter of fact, the tech stated it didn't appear anyone flushed out the drain and it as so clogged he spent more time than necessary to unclog it, he went on to say it hadn't been done in a long time. He shared picks with me of the build up  along with filth and dirt that a simple hose should've washed out within the unit. This tech said, if you had someone come out annually to do a tune up it shouldn't be this filthy. Anyway, that's the long story of it how Hobaica is nothing but a sham. I'm now filing a claim with the BBB.

Our air conditioner went out.  We had another company come out and they told us we had to buy a whole new system.  A friend recommended we call Hobaica.  Travis from Hobaica came out and we showed him what the issue was.  As he did recommend at some point in the near future we should look into replacing our unit, he then proceeded to show us the issue at hand.  It was a filter issue that he replaced at no cost!!  Travis could not have been any nicer and informative.  We will never use the other company again and will continue to use Hobaica.  I 100% trust their services.

We had a wine cellar unit fail over the weekend. The value of the wine at risk is pretty extreme. Hobaica responded immediately. Mike Hobaica came to meet me to review the situation personally. We had the entire unit replaced in 2 business days. The service is spectacular.

I had Hobaica come to my house for a whole house check because my SRP bills are crazy high in the summer.  We keep the temp at 77 so were wondering why.   Jimmy came out to check the house.  He spent 2 hours and was very through in his assessment of my house.  We sat down to discuss and he explained the minimal issues we had.  No high pressure sales or pushy attitude.   Bottom line was my air conditioners are 12 years old and not working efficiently. He didn't push new units on me and was very honest and informative.  All this for $99.00!  I highly recommend this company and Jimmy.

I called Hobaica services to schedule a maintenance check on my air conditioning unit. On the day of the appointment Scott called and notified me as to his approximate time of arrival. He was very professional, kind, and after checking my ac, he gave me information regarding some repairs that would need to be done at some point (had I had time he could have done them the same day). He was also going to send me a quote via email. I feel confident that not only was he honest, he also didn't try to pressure me into making repairs that weren't necessary at this time. I will definitely use Hobaica again! I appreciate the honesty, professionalism, and kindness showed not only by Scott, but also by the person I spoke to when I called the office.

The owner of Hobaica - Mike,  made a visit to our home on Tuesday because our heat was not working.  He went over what the costs would be for a new unit and the installation was set up for Thursday, 2 days later.  We had a time set up for 8:00am.  The technician Angel showed up at 7:45 and explained what he would be doing.  He also stated Ivan would be joining him shortly.  They discovered a problem with the tubing that had been done previously 14 years ago when this heat pump was installed.  It would take longer to install and additional parts would be needed at no additional costs.  The owner Mike came by and explained what would be done.   Total team effort by Mike, Ivan, and Angel.  My wife and I are really happy feeling heat again.  In fact this new unit is blowing out heat that we had never experienced before.  Mike told us this heat pump would be more energy efficient and more power.  He was correct.  When you have a household problem and the repair is done, it feels good to know someone cared about solving our problem.

OMG, don't wast your time and money on these low budget, know nothing Craigslist, wannabe AC technicians. The tech showed up on time for an estimate on heater. The appointment went well and I was told that I would be sent an estimate in the next couple of days. That never happened. Since then, I have followed up with both the tech as well as the office person multiple times and have been assured each time that they will send an estimate.

I haven't heard back from anyone yet. Poor customer service.

The sales guy was very informative, patient, and kind, so I was going to do business with them. However, I was in the first stage, so I had to get another quote.  I gave them a check for $1600 on May 15th, I canceled with them on May 17th for a full refund.   I have reached out to them 2 times, tried to leave a message after hours today but couldn't. I still haven't received my refund.  It does NOT take 3 weeks to cut a refund check.  

Unacceptable business practice.  A person shouldn't have to hunt their money down.

I've used Hobaica for AC services in both of the homes I've owned and I've been extremely pleased with their customer service and work ethic. My first home had an AC system from the 80's. The technician who came to service it said that it wasn't an efficient system, but that it was still running in good condition. The fact that he didn't try to sell us a new unit - unlike several other big name AC repair places - made me confident that their technicians are paid by the hour and not by the upsale. (This was from approximately 2006.)

Last year, in 2014, the compressor in my AC unit began overheating during the dead of summer. I had several companies come out to look at the unit and give me quotes. In the end, Hobaica was able to return the best rated AC system (Trane) and air handler for the lowest price. They handled everything easily and professionally.

I had my AC unit installed about a year ago and had it serviced today by JJ. He did a fantastic job. He was courteous and friendly, put on shoe covers to keep my floors clean, and thoroughly checked out the air handler inside my home and the one on the roof. He seemed to really enjoy his job and it conveyed in his professionalism and amicable demeanor. If you're considering a company for AC service, I highly recommend Hobaica!

I needed a new blower motor for my 14 yr old a/c unit. I've been using Hobaica for service and have only just started to not like them as much as I did at first.

They had quoted me a price of $1600. They were supposed to come out today for a scheduled appointment.

I got a phone call this morning saying the part was on back order for 4-6 weeks. Then the fellow seriously tried to convince me that the entire system needed to be replaced -- about $20,000.

I was able to find another company that replaced the motor today and charged me under $1000.

I will never use Hobaica again.

I called Hobaica because they advertise on the back of my church bulletin.  We had what I thought to be a simple problem with the condensation line backing up.  Hobaica sent their tech, Anthony, to our house the next day for the $19.52 special, which included a 16 point inspection.  Turns out the condensation line was just clogged.  He cleared that up, put in a new air filter for us and that was it! No surprises or extra services we didn't need.  I would recommend them to anyone!

It's so refreshing to come across an honest company when it comes to home repair. We were having electrical issues and contacted Hobaica for a free home inspection. Amer (pronounced Um-air, not Amir - although I hear he's a great tech too) arrived on time and was super thorough in his inspection. He pointed out some of the issues with the way our contractor had wired our control panel and make a few tweaks to eliminate some of the more annoying issues we were having (lights dimming, etc.). You better believe that I will be contacting him if and when we decide to rewire the house! Thank you, Amer, for your time today and for going above and beyond our expectations.

I purchased a new heat pump from Hobaica this past February and received a 2 year service contract. I got five estimates, and while Hobaica's quote was not the least expensive, it was very fair, and I was impressed with their professionalism. My new unit worked flawlessly and saved me considerably on my electric bill.
I just moved into a new home and transferred my service contract to my new address. Steven came out and checked out my heat pump and was on time, courteous and very professional. Because my heat pump on my new house is rather old, it will need to be replaced in the near future. Because of such a positive experience with Hobaica, I already know I will use them when I am ready to purchase a new one. There is no question that Hobaica really cares about their customers. They are a rare find these days. Truly professional, ethical and a pleasure to work with!

Had them come out after the big storm a few years ago to check the AC units. Everyone else wanted to put new units on. The rep from Hobaica stated units are good the coils just needed to be combed out. Been with them ever since.

I had the pleasure of dealing with one of the owners, Paul Hobaica, and I honestly can tell you that there are still good business people out there. It was excellent service from start to finish. Not only did they finish the job in less time than I thought it would take but the service man, Tony, was so thorough that he offered to repaint the little area where my old thermostat had been. Ive lived in the valley for over 19 years years and as a homeowner I've dealt with plenty of companies but none have come close to the honesty and professionalism of Hobaica. We have been using Hobaica's services for about a year after our former heating and cooling service company went out of business. Hobaica was recommended to us by the manufacturer of our heat pump for continued service. We got fantastic service a year ago and again recently when our heat pump needed a repair. Our service expert, Chase Cottam, was amazing! He was professional, knowledgeable, articulate and customer service oriented. We are very happy with his work performance and he is deserving of any employee reward or incentive offered by Hobaica. In fact, we have been so pleased with Hobaica and Service Expert Chase that we have decided to enroll in a maintenance plan with Hobaica and we look forward to doing business with them in the future.

I have been a customer of Hobaica for over 12 years.  They have installed all three of our air conditioners in our home and guest house. Their service has always been great from all of their service reps.  They have always been friendly, professional and honest with issues regarding our equipment. This past Tuesday service rep Jeremiah Russell came for our twice yearly maintenance check up. As I was showing him where our air conditioning equipment was I casually mentioned to him that we were having issues with our plumbing in our guest house. I told him that I probably would be calling Hobaica to have their plumbing service come out to check it out. I had not used them before as I have had a plumbing company for the past 20 years.  I told him that our current plumber has been out 3 times trying to fix and identify our problem. They have not been able to fix it.  Within the hour Jeremiah came to me and told me that he checked our plumbing issue and had identified the problem. Air in the pipes due to a break or crack in the pipes was the issue. I was quite surprised and impressed that he had taken it upon himself to look at our problem and identify the issue and even told us the probable area where the break was underground.  He advised that Hobaica could not service this issue due to it being underground.  He gave us the name and phone number of a company that could help us. His service was well beyond the expected good service that we have always received from Hobaica  reps. Hats off the the management of Hobaica for hiring and training the type of people who truly believe in great customer service.  And again a BIG Thank You to Jeremiah for his efforts in helping us. Hobaica has been servicing our heat pump for over three years now and I wouldn't recommend anyone else.  They maintain a high level of customer service from the receptionist that answers the office phone to the technicians that service our unit.

Steve, our technician, was on time, courteous, and he provided accurate information. He performed his inspection of our two AC units, noting some maintenance issues that need attention. When I told him I wanted to defer fixing these problems for the present time he didn't try to talk me out of it without by overstating the severity or immediacy of the concerns. I came home one weekend to find that my AC was leaking water everywhere.  We had just had an inspection performed on our unit to make sure it was in good working condition prior to summer, but the company who performed the inspection was unavailable on weekends.  I found this company and called on a Saturday.  They squeezed me in on a Saturday even though they were completed booked to help me avoid extra off-hours services fees.  I received an email notification and a text message sending the name, contact number, and picture of the technician who would be coming to my phone.  When Jacey showed up, he was very friendly and professional.  He even put on shoe covers and made sure to keep my home clean while working.  They helped me find the best way to fix our unit for the most affordable prices.  Their professionalism, customer service, and reliability is exceptional!

Hobaica Services, fixed our system when another company only put a Band-Aid on it, which ended up costing us more money in the long run. Our system is only 4 years old and not cooling the way it should.  We called another company for service about 2.5 years ago and they added some Freon, basically shrugged their shoulders and said sometimes units loose Freon. Fast forward to last week,  Brent and Dave from Hobaica evaluated our system and found we had a leak in in an exterior component due to poor welding, probably from the original install. You could see the leak and how the oil was bubbling when it was pointed out to us.  Brent and Dave explained what needed to be done had us operating and cooled off with in an hour.  The frustrating part was, if the company we called 2.5 years ago had properly diagnosed the issue, this would have probably been covered under the warranty.  Instead, they did a quick fix and never took the extra step to figure out why the system was losing Freon.  The short cut by the other company run up our utility bills for the past two years and then we had to pay to have the part replaced by Hobaica.  The guys from Hobaica, were honest, educated and polite about what needed to be done. Not only did they replace the part, but they gave us the defective part so we could see exactly why it needed to be replaced.  Plus, they allowed our dog to get in the way and sniff around while they worked.  Thanks Hobaica for saving the day!

Today one of my two units went out (on a Sunday) and I called the weekend service number and a technician,  Ron J. called back within a short time and
said he would be out within a half hour.. Ron arrived, quickly solved the problem and was on his way.....Ron had been out before on previous calls in the past few years,  and he is an outstanding  service man....I wish I could give him more than a 5 star rating..

My family and I have been with Hobaica since  they first started in business in the 1970's. We ALL use Hobaica and wouldn't trust our A/C ( and now plumbing) to any other company.
