Farnsworth Heating and Cooling was the contractor that New AC Unit .com arranged to do my install. They do up sell you on new pan, wiring, etc. I could have said no to any additional charges but agreed to the final amount. The install went fairly well. They did have the condensation lines crossed and returned to fix it. I gave the installers the paperwork for my SRP rebate of  $900.  SRP requires that the contractor fill out their portion. My install was June 24. SRP has notified me that they have sent 5 requests to get the paperwork that was submitted corrected. I have called Farnsworth's office 3 times , leaving messages with the receptionist to check the status of my rebate paperwork and call me with an update. I have never received a call back. I am so frustrated. It is September and I have no idea what is going on.

Joe and team were extremely professional and were extrwmwly engaged throughout thebprocess. They came the same day after another local company through newacunit.com fell through and Joe was willing to work out a solution. He came in 10% cheaper than the other company and included 2 nest installations free too! The guys who came in for installation were also extremely hardworking and had a 12 hour day and were working in turns the entire day. Overall very good experience and would recommend and use them again for sure!

We ordered a unit through NewACUnit.com we had Farnsworth come out and do the initial inspection.  They quoted us additional charges to ensure the Unit was to code and would not give us issues, they also explained WHY these changes were needed unlike the 2 other very reputable companies did not!  We have 2 units but were only going to replace 1 since it was not in the budget.  They worked with us and got the second unit 500 less than NewAcunit and great financing.  Within a week they were out and replaced both units in the single day.  They were efficient and tidy.  We were beyond pleased with their work and the experience!  We have recommended them to our friends and neighbors.

Farnsworth Heating, Cooling & Plumbing

1 star rating, poor installation, poor annual maintenance, poor customer service.

Farnsworth Heating, Cooling & Plumbing installed a new  energy- efficient two speed 5 ton split heating/cooling system October 2021.  We also purchased three maintenance contracts to service the two AC/Heating systems in our home and a 3 ton unit in our nearby rental home.
Farnsworth turned out to be a complete fail in servicing my AC units, and later I found out they did a poor job in installing the new unit in the first place.

During the annual A/C check late in the spring of this year, Chris the tech, indicated the new unit's condenser was failing and should be replaced and that the new unit's drip pan was badly rusted and not draining properly.   Additionally, under the contract, the annual check is supposed to include a chemical coil cleaning which Chris failed to do, stating the chemical cleaning was not included (even though the contract does specify the  chemical cleaning is part of the service). He did not have a replacement condenser in his truck and also did not have a vacuum to blow out the clogged primary drain.  I asked him on his next visit to the area (they only service our area on Wednesdays) to install the replacement condenser and blow out the primary drain line.  He never returned.

In the Phoenix August heat, the condenser on the unit he installed 3 years ago failed and the unit would not operate.  I called for service on a Monday evening, Chris came on Wednesday and said the AC/Heater needed a software update, but that he did not have the correct phone to install the software update via Bluetooth and that he needed an IT specialist to do the software install.  (I offered to use my phone to download the software, he refused the offer. I had the sense he was lazy or just did not have the training).  He did not test or replace the failed condenser or try to repair or blow out the primary drain. He left after basically doing nothing.

After he left, I went on to the manufacturer's website, located the App needed to update the system's software and ran the update myself. It took all of 15 minutes to download the app, connect via Bluetooth and run the update.

I called the Farnsworth office several times and was told they would get back to me but never did.  After my fourth call, I left a message and the Manager Joe returned my call.  This is one full week after the unit failed.   Joe said they just did not have the technical staff available to fulfill the terms of the service contract, and no tech available to come out until the follow week.   His suggestion was to find another service company.   I cancelled the three service contracts on the spot  and they did refund the service contract cost.

I called a local service, Cool Breeze Heat & Air LLC, and they arranged to have their service manager come out that morning to assess the situation and perform the service.   He found the system's software up to date, found the condenser had failed but was still under warranty, and installed the replacement immediately.

As part of his inspection he went into the attic to examine both AC units.  The original 19 year old unit was still operating fine and within service parameters.  The new unit however was another story.

The AC unit and drip pan was installed off level, so the primary drain was actually draining on an incline, forcing water to pool and cause a rust stain in the drain pan.  This forced the unit to drain out of the secondary backup drain, staining the outside of the house uppermost drain outlet.    He also discovered the install failed to take advantage of the unit's built in two stage energy efficient capability such that stage 2, the high fan/high output stage was the only stage working.

Cool Breeze came back a day or two later to correct the primary drain issue and to rewire the unit to work properly.  After a couple of hours, all the was work completed and now the unit uses Stage 1 and Stage 2 properly based on the demand and humidity, and the primary drain is working properly.   We are very satisfied with Cool Breeze customer service, speed to respond and competency.

I contacted Farnsworth  and told them I expected the to do the right thing and pay for the $1,200 repair service cost to correct their faulty initial install.  Not surprisingly, I've heard no response from Farnsworth.

Bottom line, Farnsworth provides poor, inadequate installation of new units, poor and incomplete annual service for AC/Heating systems and poor customer service.

I could not in good faith recommend Farnsworth Heating & Cooling to anyone looking for an AC service company.

After talking about my situation with the owner and receiving an explanation of the situation and the work done, it's apparent that the issues I've encountered were not solely due to the work of Farnsworth Heating and Cooling but also due to the lack of communication and follow up from newACunit as well.  The owner was very personable and easy to talk with and understood my confusion and was willing to work with me to determine where there was miscommunication and to help resolve the issues.  He was also able to explain to me how the installation was managed and why and was able to fix the minor issues I pointed out.

While there are still some details that need to be followed up on, I respect the owner and have a more favorable view of this company as a result of our conversation.  It's not every day that the owner of a company will take the time to explain things and talk to you so that as a customer, you can understand why and how things get done.  I was satisfied as a customer and look forward to continuing to work with this company when the need arises.

Where to begin. My father has used this company in the past for routine checks and maintenance without issue. This week they called Farnsworth because the air quit and my mother is elderly and ill. They came out and charged my father close to $200 to install a thermostat that you could purchase at Walmart. The tech was there no more then 90 minutes and told my father he was getting a 20 percent discount. How sad that these thieves are out raping the sick and elderly.  The owner would not call us claiming a death in the family in Utah. Another person from the office told my father they charge what others charge.

This company is an embarrassment to all reputable companies.  Their reliability is in the garbage!  We had a service contract with them, that as long as it was their scheduled maintenance they attended to it - always finding something to which we needed to additionally purchase.  When we had a problem and our air conditioner stopped working one tech came out and thought it might be a short in our fan and claimed there was some difficulty in obtaining the part.  His temporary fix didn't work well so we called Farnsworth again the same night with no response. Phoned them again twice in the morning and supplied our details, and tried the tech's number also again  - no answer only to be defaulted to his voicemail.  Another day when by and no response from the company or the tech, so we phoned again. And they are consistent - no response despite telling us they would mark it URGENT.  We phoned another company who came out within 2 hours, found the part, picked it up and installed it all within a matter of 3 hours start to finish.  (BTW this tech said it was a really tight squeeze to get at the part so who knows how the original tech managed to get there in the first place). Twelve hours after our last phone call to Farnsworth we are still waiting to hear back from them.  Games people play! Game over.

The BEST customer service in a crisis!  On July 7, my neighborhood had at least three power surges and I could tell after the final one that my AC was blowing warm air only.  After shutting the system down then powering up after waiting 10 minutes (tried it twice), I called Farnsworth.  My call went out at around 7:00 p.m. and whomever picked up was fantastic: she was friendly, listened to the issue I had, and recognized the house was heating up quickly, she let me know a tech would call shortly.  Joe was the tech who made the service call, he was professional, he assessed the issue from the thermostat to the unit, identified the part needed, located it in his van (whew, and it was still HOT outside), installed the part, powered up the system...and the AC was fully operational!  Shout to Farnsworth for exemplary customer service from beginning to end and for the experienced and professional tech (ask for Joe!).  Even better, the total cost of the call was more than reasonable.  I recommend Farnsworth for your AC needs!!

Farnsworths Heating, Cooling and plumbing were the contractors that NewACUnit.com chose for our installation of two A/C units.  The front office was professional and friendly.  Joe came to our home prior to install to verify our specific needs. The crew that installed the units handled the job with ease.  Thank you Farnsworth for a job well done!  You have a great team and know what is required to get the job done!

horrible. Less than two years installing AC units nothing but problems. Both units stopped working. Two leaks in ceiling due to them not making sure condensation lines in attic were attached. never call back--took an entire week of my AC being out for them to come and fix it. now another leak--no return phone call and when I call back they say warranty is out--barely two years--and I might want to call someone else. horrible customer service, horrible repair work, horrible company.

What a sorry excuse for a company! Run, don't walk away!

NewACUnit contacted this company who does not know the first thing about AC, nor customer service! From day one, our experience with them was a nightmare! They put a hole in the house, and their patching was pathetic. They messed up the installation and we needed up with water pouring through our bathroom, which is below the attic. There is no value, because we have had nothing but trouble, and have spent much more than we would have going with a quality company to begin with!

I am sorry that I ever had the misfortune of dealing with this classless, crooked company!

I called Farnsworth because they were the installers and the unit was under warranty.  I called them on Sunday and was told someone would come out on Tuesday. Tuesday came and went and no call and no show.  I called back Wednesday and was told someone would be out Thursday after 3:00. At 2:00 I received a Voicemail saying Joe was at my house and we didn't answer.  My wife was home and our security cameras showed the tech went to my side gate, walked back to his van and left.  Didn't even step foot on my driveway. ‍

Cautionary tale to follow when I have more time...but do not trust them with your ac install! I have had 3 ac professionals check out farnsworth's install and they're all appalled and say it's companies like this one that gives them all a bad rep. Communication is terrible as well and i have been waiting a week to hear back from the owner/manager but am giving up hope because I wouldn't trust them to do it right anyways.  Fixing their crap install will cost me around $2000. Terrible company.

The worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with! I find it hard to believe he is still in business! Lied about the costs involved, caused water to pour through my bathroom ceiling, and it goes on and on. I round never recommend this subpar company to anyone.

Farnsworth only got 1 stars and that's tfrom me because I was second on the list today to get my ac looked at. Chris had to go to Casa Grande first thing this morning then he was coming to me and he didn't even call or come by. This is not good business!  He promised he was coming by to look at my problem.  Well I gave them a chance, now it's time to move on to another company that knows how to treat its customers. Update:  Chris came out Tuesday and helped me hopefully get things straightened out.  I'm putting in one of those real cheap filters.

Customer service and work promises is horrible.  I do not recommend this company to anyone.  If I could give them negative stars I would.  I had a new AC installed in May 2022 because of Chris's recommendation because old unit would have costed me about $3,000 to maintain.  I wish I would have got a second opinion.  I was told that I would have 3 year semi-annual maintenance, 2 whirly birds installed at a discount and duct cleaning included.  I did get whilrly birds installed at discount but that is it.  I have contacted them many times concerning the duct cleaning.  I never received a response.  I check receipt.  It was not on it.  Lesson learned.  Get in writing.  I recently called to get fall maintenance done on new system.  Office scheduled it.  I received a call from Chris stating that they could not touch ac unit for a year because or warranty on unit. I also finally agreed to pay for the duct cleaning to get it done.  I was given a date of Oct 10 by Chris.  It was a no show.  No call.  No nothing.  I sent several messages with no reply.  Wasted day.  I asked that he provide me with warranty information on unit.  Still no reply.  I would not recommend this company to anyone.  Makes me wonder if they will even service maintenance after 1 year.  If not, I plan on taking them to court for breach of contract.  Once again.  Do not use !!!!!!!

On the recommendation of an acquaintance, I set up an appointment to have a routine a/c checkup, in March 2016. (My new system was installed in 2013.)  The technician said I should have a capacitor, compressor start kit and surge protector installed and those were $252, $292 and $225 respectively, BUT if I signed up for a $900 5-year contract, they would be included. I know nothing about this stuff so assumed they were being honest and that I really needed these things. I bought the contract but wish I had just said thanks, and goodbye. Since then, every time they come to do the routine checkups, they try to sell me something.  In fall of 2019, again I had the routine checkup done. Again, I was told I needed several things that amounted to $800. I told them I'd think about it.  I was suspicious that the work was not really needed and called another company which has a reputation for being honest. (Note here that Farnsworth said they would include coil cleaning at no charge if I had the rest of their recommendations done.)  The second company found only one item that Farnsworth had recommended be replaced/fixed, BUT they did find I had a refrigeration leak and the indoor coil was in need of replacement. They took me through the process step by step and with pictures. I have called Farnsworth's office twice and asked for a refund of the balance of my service contract. I'm getting no response from them other than the boss was out of town last week and she would send him another email regarding my request for refund.  I have yet to hear from them and it's been two weeks.  BOTTOM LINE: I DO NOT RECOMMEND FARNSWORTH HEATING COOLING AND PLUMBING.  IF I GET A REFUND OF THE REMAINING TWO YEARS OF THE CONTRACT, I WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW.  Finally, the access to my attic and the equipment therein is rather small, but most of the techs have been overweight, limiting accessibility to the attic.  Wouldn't you think that they would have noted this on their reports to ensure complete accessibility to the attic in order to properly inspect the indoor coil and other equipment?  Yeah, that's what I think also.

This company has gone above and beyond the call of duty. We called them a couple weeks ago and they warned us that our air conditioner wasn't going to last too much longer. Well of course we had to figure out scheduling. We sent it up to be replaced on July 6. On June 30 it stopped working completely. We called Rick Garrick, the gentleman that came out and looked at our unit to begin with. He was on VACATION but that didn't stop him from helping us. He got someone out to our house the next day to see if they could get our unit working until it could be replaced. When they couldn't get it working he set it up for them to come out on a SATURDAY to replace it! They got here at 6am today and have been working diligently to replace our unit. Everyone we have dealt with from Rick to the foreman to the guys doing the work have been professional and awesome!

Super bummed...we were optimistic to work with Farnsworth to have two new AC units installed.  They initially contacted us back promptly and made an appointment for the following morning at 8am.  Since we have no AC working currently in our home, in the summer heat, and six children, we were excited to get the process started as soon as possible.

I took the morning off of work, since the appointment was early.  By 11am, no technician had showed and I was searching for numbers to call.  The technician did not answer the phone that he provided us, the VM was not set up and it hangs up.  I then turned to the office number.  I was asked to hold immediately and waited 3 minutes before someone was able to answer my call.

When the woman answered she was unable to find my information by name or address, but the city helped her to remember that the tech scheduled to come to our house quit this morning! So she thought Joe might be on his way from Mesa...but he left quite a while ago and she wasn't sure where he was, so she would have him call.

We were called back and told that another technician would be arriving in about an hour and a half.  So my half day of work missed, has now become a full day.  The technician arrived around 1-1:15pm in the afternoon.

He said because it was 'so late in the day' they would not be able to place our AC unit order until Monday morning...and they wouldn't be able to pick it up at the warehouse until later that afternoon.  So soonest would be Tuesday, but most likely Wednesday for an installation date!  It is JUNE in Phoenix!!!!  I should not be punished for their delay!

When my husband called their office after the technician left because we have some valid concerns regarding the visit, we were told that all the people we would want to speak with have gone for the day...so we need to call back on Monday morning!

As a business, customer service should be your TOP PRIORITY!  I am shocked by the lack of service we have recieved thus far.  Call your customer's when you're going to be late and understand that customers who have to wait an additional couple of days in a home that's just under 90 degrees, because of circumstances you as a company have created...they are not going to be happy.

Do not use Farnsworth Heating, Cooling and Plumbing.  We bought a new AC unit last year, spent $8000.  4 days after the one year warranty went out, the compressor failed.  They came out and suggested a get a start assist to 'kick start' the compressor.  They made a big deal on how I was getting a great deal for $250.  That worked for a day and then the AC unit stopped.  Then they came out the next day and installed a dual run capacitor for $150.  That worked for two days.  Then they came back out and said, yeah, you need a new compressor.  Goodman won't cover it (which is not Farnsworth's fault), but now Farnsworth says that they can't even get their hands on a compressor and have 'recommended' that I replace the entire condenser for just $2500, once again telling me I am getting a great deal.  It would just be easier to give them my bank account number and have them withdraw money as they see fit.   Avoid them at all costs, run.  Find someone better.  Don't risk going through what I am.  At this point, I will pay the money for a new compressor, but to someone else.  I am not going to give them another dollar out of my wallet.

Update.  I contacted another company, the AC Doctors, and explained my situation to them.  Like Farnsworth, they said that replacing the condenser would be the fastest fix.  Unlike Farnsworth, they told me that the condenser is covered under a 5-year warranty and I could have it installed for $1200.  So Farnsworth was willing to overcharge me $1300.  And despite Joe's response, they have not offered to refund me for the two useless parts, they offered to credit me for the those if I bought the new condenser through them.  Joe (since Yelp reviews seem to be the easiest way to contact you), please take those parts off my unit and refund me.

2nd Update.  I have tried to contact Joe to get the refund that he stated already happened in his response to my review, but calls and messages are not responded to.  I also tried to contact his installer Chris, but he doesn't answer my phone call either.  AC Doctors have been awesome in terms of communication and punctuality.  I will review them on Yelp shortly.  I'm already predicting a better review than Farnsworth.

We purchased the best system they offered us with a 10 year warranty. They supposedly offered 24-7 service. In truth they have an answering service that takes calls 24-7 but we found out that they rarely send the messages they take to Farnsworth. Our system started breaking down 3 months after it was installed. The first time it quit working here in AZ it needed a firmware update at the furnace. We were charged $40 for the privilege of getting the system running again. Evidently Goodman systems can just shut down if they need a firmware update and for some unknown reason you get a bill for it regardless as to when it was installed. It failed again less than 2 years into our ownership. It took several days to get them back out to take a look. It had an error code and they reset it. No charge that time. Two days later it failed again. We spent 2 days trying to get ahold of them and left multiple messages with their answering service but the service didn't send them the messages. Our elderly mother was in the house with temperatures well over 100 degrees. We called another Goodman dealer to take a look at the system and they said the compressor failed. We finally got ahold of Farnsworth and they sent someone out a day later and they agreed the compressor failed. At first they said it would cost us $1,500, then it was $2,500, then it was $1,900. They said it might take 8 weeks to get the parts and that we should have bought a different brand system. I told them I bought the best one I was offered and asked why they sold me this one if it wasn't any good? With their terrible response times, ever changing pricing, large charges for something supposedly covered by warranty we decided to fire them and called another Goodman dealer. They did the job, not under warranty for $1,500. Considerably less than Farnsworth with a warranty. I highly recommend not working with this company. Their warranty repairs will cost you more than hiring another company and paying full price for repairs!!!

These guys installed a new A/C unit about 2 months ago for me.  Their prices are competitive and they were very easy to do business with.  They showed up on time and got the new install done fast and with quality workmanship. My A/C broke and they loaded me some portable units until they could install the new on.  I do not understand all the bad reviews on here?

On Monday, 7/23/18 we came home to find out that our AC unit had stopped working.  We checked out the thermostat and the breaker, but found out both were okay.  By that time, it was after 8 PM.  Since our neighbors use Farnsworth Heating and Cooling, we decided to give them a call.  When we called we got Justin (a Fransworth HVAC technician).  He said he could make the after hours service call even though we were not regular customers and would be at our house in 40 minutes.  He arrived on time and corrected the problem by installing a dual run capacitor (the old one was dead!).  He then proceeded to do a complete check on the compressor/condenser system as well as check out the inside air temps after the unit had run for a while.  We highly recommend Justin and Farnsworth Heating and Cooling Company.

Worst company I have ever tryed to do business with...
My air conditioner was installed less than a year ago... last April...
They had installed a digiital thermomiter than ran nonstop and I never fully understood how to work it. Last November 3 days before Thanksgiving it stopped giving me heat. I called the office and told the person answering the phone that I needed someone to come out. Next day I called again and she said she didn't know as their workers were all busy. I again told her that I had NO heat... She didn't seem to think that was important. No one called back and no one showed up. I called again the next day (Wednesday) .
I was told that everyone had gone on Thanksgiving vacation and would not be back in the office until after Thanksgiving!! that was another week away!! I live in a plus 55 neighborhood by myself. I was at that point facing at least 10 days without heat and none of them cared, not to mention over Thanksgiving!!!
After Thanksgiving was over I called again and someone else answered the phone and said she was told all my problems had been resolved!! Really????
Finally someone was going to come out! The guy that came had a big scrowl
on his face and was clearly upset that I had complained... I asked for a different thermostat that I could control, and instead he replaced it with the same one, that wasn't even programmed right. I had to call the company that made it for help (more than once). I struggled with this thermostat until earily March when i lost heat again. This time, I went to Lowes and bought a basic thermostat and called Farnsworth to come out and change it. Someone came out on the 5th, installed it and left. A few days later I went to turn the heat on and reliezed it wasn't connected!! so I called Farnsworth back on the 10th and the11th to once again tell them I had NO HEAT!! 4 days later they sent same guy out  to hookup the heat. He then left. Furnance would come on but fan didn't work! got my space heater back out. This time I had had enough and called a repubtuble company that was at my house within 30 min... They checked it out and in 5 min discovered that it was hooked up to gas and not electric:(:( I have heat now!!! and I realize i have been played and taken advantage of. This is not a company you want to do business with.
as part of the deal, they included a 3 year preventive maintance agreement
to which I believe they never had plans to make good on, and a 2 yr labor warranty that Im sure they will never make good on...
I wish so much I had never believed all of these great reviews that they post...  that couldn't possibly be true. There ought to be a law... Maybe there is... I should at least get a rebate on the warranties that I paid for, but will probably never see. I have no plans to have anything more to do with this company in the future, and Im sure I will be better off...
