Reviews
I have used these folks several times-once for a toilet problem, once to install a new water heater and once to fix a leak under a sink in master bath. Each time the experience has been great. The office staff is friendly and efficient. The technicians are on time, friendly, neat about their work and the prices are always fair. They charge by the job and don't load in a separate service call fee, though I'm sure that is built into their pricing. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Called City Wide and spoke with Rob after a nightmare with Discount plumbing. (Discount wanted to bump their price quote up almost $300 when they got here; their guy, Danny, kept calling me sweetie while he was trying to inflate the quote, as if that isn't demeaning in itself; then proceeded to order a cheaper and smaller water heater than originally price quoted, which also would have been too small for our sq ft and usage, until I caught him and fired him on the spot.) Saw City Wide's ad on Yelp and they were rated very high, but I later realized that this is probably because they have only allowed us to see their good reviews. Rob answered the phone, seemed sincerely surprised about my experience with Discount, said their owner was good friends with Discount's owner, and said he would be out to our place the next day as a special favor to me, since we had no hot water for two days now. Should have known when they said the owners were buddies, but when Rob came out, he tried to pull the exact same scam as Discount by trying to bump up the price, then insulted me by trying to claim I was to blame because I didn't go along with being taken advantage of! Whatever happened to honesty and pride in what one does? Found Chris Serrano at Chris S. Plumbing who did the entire job, including all the so called $300 extras, for about the price the other guys originally quoted me without any of the rip off tactics. Guess this Sweetie isn't as dumb as she looks.
City Wide Plumbing is a great company. We called them on a Wednesday with a pretty mammoth task set on our kitchen sink including a leaky RO faucet, broken and leaky kitchen faucet and a very old and disgusting old garbage disposal. They were out on Thursday for the estimate early for their scheduled time of 9-10a. In Chandler, Lou is an excellent plumber and had not only given us an affordable estimate but had completed all work in an hour. We are now able to use our kitchen faucet again (new faucet installed), we have our new garbage disposal installed and the leaky RO faucet is removed and no longer leaking. I signed up to Yelp just to give this review because we cannot believe how easy and affordable/fair it was considering the task at hand.
Thank you Lou and City Wide Plumbing, we will definitely be using City Wide Plumbing again!
we called Citywide this morning for an estimate on a waterline leak behind our shower, we did not know where it was exactly, but could hear water running. Lou arrived on time, and after looking at the problem, gave a price we couldn't refuse, and within an hour - he had located the leak (a pinhole leak in copper pipe), and replaced the elbow and re-connected the pipe. VERY happy with their work and response time.
When you call any service company there is always a worry that they will overcharge or suggest services that you don't need. This is absolutely not the case with City Wide Plumbing. After a plumber from our home warranty company told us we needed to do some preventative repairs, I called City Wide for a second opinion. One of their plumbers came to the house, did a thorough inspection and told me that there was no reason in the world to do the repairs that had been suggested. After that, they had a customer in my - for life. We have used them for three plumbing issues after that initial experience and I cannot say enough about their professionalism, punctuality, attitude, and most importantly their expertise. I wouldn't let another plumber in my house after City Wide!

An absolute pleasure to work with.
I used them because of all the positive feedback on Yelp and they certainly lived up to their reputation.
I called in the morning and the plumber showed up on schedule.
I was charged exactly what I was quoted and there were no hidden fees or attempt to up-sell the job.
They snaked my main drain and cut out the roots.

Found a spraying leak under my kitchen sink, late Sunday night. After turning the whole-house water off, I had a restless night dreaming about how bad it would be in the morning. I called Citywide and the gal on the phone said she could have a technician there within the hour. Wow! They came out, quoted me a price and then fixed it - all withi8n 1 hour. Unreal. I will never use any other service. Love this company.

After the other plumbing company did not show up to fix the leak and 6 other companies said that they had no availability I called City Wide Plumbing. Robert the owner answered my call and said I will rearrange things and get a technician out there. As promised, Mike, showed up and got the leak repaired...Professional, Efficient, and timely. I highly recommend and am thankful for the level of service we received!
They did call today to apologize for not following through on the estimate. Not only do they read Yelp reviews, they actually care about customer satisfaction!

Discovered a leak on our water heater around 8pm on a Friday night. Yikes!
Had to shut the water main off and call plumbers. Luckily, I remembered our HOA uses city wide for all plumbing issues. Their office didn't open until 8am the next morning (Saturday), but they had someone here by 10am. Fixed the issue (wasn't the actual water heater itself). Cost $180. Not too bad, I guess. Especially when you need water!

I called City Wide based on the glowing reviews here, plus because they are a member of Local First Arizona. I have to say the service call was way below what I had expected. I needed a leaky toilet repaired, but the plumber made the problem worse by the time he had completed the job.
I am giving City Wide an above average rating, however, due to their quick response in addressing the problem. Larry seemed genuinely concerned that I was dissatisfied with the service, and both emailed and called me first thing the next business morning to see how he could remedy the problem. He offered to replace the toilet at no charge; but since I had it replaced by someone else the previous afternoon, he then told me he would pay my cost of having the work done -- on top of returning my check for the initial service call.
I am willing to give City Wide a second chance if I should need a plumber in the future. Everyone I came in contact with there -- from the person who scheduled my appointment, to David who serviced the call -- all were courteous. And I'm sure if the circumstance had been different, very professional as well. Larry clearly takes great pride in the reputation of his business and in the satisfaction of his customers.

I recently bought a house. Out with their under-sink reverse osmosis system and in with my reverse osmosis system. Problem was that their water in spigot was the type that punctures the copper pipe coming in from the wall. So what happens? Their little spigot with no hose on it decides it won't fully close. If it won't close then it will drip. I can't simply take off the spigot because that spigot has punctured the line. so, I called City Wide.
They cut off the old copper pipe with the puncture in it and welded a new piece on as well as a new quarter-turn shutoff valve. It cost me $174 which seems high for a small amount of work, but I think it was worth it. The copper coming from the wall wasn't that long and the hole was close to the wall meaning not much room to cut the pipe off or to weld a new sleeve on.
Could I have done it myself? Sure, but eff that... I would have cursed myself for 4 hours and had to go back to Lowes 14 times... and I probably would have burned myself doing all this.
On a different note... here lately I've been trying to fix things here and there and been calling people trying to set things up. It seems the trend is that people are hard to get a hold of and if you do they don't call back. This place I called, they said they'd have someone out in an hour and they came and did their job.
I have never left a Yelp review, but today's experience made me want to warn others about this company's predatory practices in regard to labor costs for installing a 50-gallon water heater. I did not have any work performed by this company today, but they certainly attempted to rip me off to the extreme. I will start with the positives:
POSITIVES:
My previous water heater was installed by this company in March of 2010. It was a 50-gallon Westinghouse medium-height unit. The cost was about $700 or so. I also used them another time for outdoor spigot work - also a positive experience. Fast-forward to August 2019, I realized that my hot water heater was in need of total replacement and contacted City Wide Plumbing of Tempe from the road on August 14, 2019. Since I was traveling and did not have physical access to the water heater, I was hoping that they could pull my paperwork from 2010 and install a similar unit on Saturday August 17th, after my return home. Stacy (or Stacey) was very helpful and informed me that they only had paper records from that far back. Totally understandable. She tried to pull the records but could not. When she called back, I arranged to have a tech come out Monday. On Monday morning, Lou P. arrived about 15 minutes early and gave me his card. This is where a decade of positive experiences with this company ends...
NEGATIVES:
Lou entered the garage, had a look at the existing water heater and gave me a price... $1310 and some change!? I asked Lou how much of that was labor and he showed me a cost sheet that listed the price of the unit at $388 (but he said the price of the unit had gone up since the time of printing - but obviously still one of the cheapest units available.) I am not sure exactly what I said, as my head was spinning at the time... I do know that I calmly dropped a single F-bomb - something along the lines of I am going to have to pass, as $850+ labor is absolutely F'ing ridiculous... I would like to apologize to Lou for my crude language, but I swear that I was not in total control of my faculties at this point... This quote was for the absolute bare-bones dual 4500-watt electric water heater. I did some online research and discovered that the job is generally about a two-hour job, but can take up to 4 hours with mitigating circumstances (of which there were none.) That means that City Wide was attempting to extort between $200-400/ hr in labor from me! I am not completely sure how the total price can even be given before hours of labor have been determined?! Unbelievable.
TAKEAWAYS:
I think I made the mistake of telling Stac(e)y that I was not shopping around and just wanted a fair price. I had used them in the past and was hoping that it was the only call I needed to make... After my online research, I actually called her back a few hours after Lou left. First, I apologized for wasting the company's time. Then I asked how they justified $900 in labor to install an electric water heater. She said that they do not charge $900. At that point, I remembered to factor in sales tax on parts (no tax on labor/services in AZ) and rounded down to $800 labor. She told me Yes. That's our book rate. $1300 for a water heater... I said Okay then, and ended the call.
The good news: I ended up buying a Rheem Gladiator 50-gallon, 5500/5500-Watt Smart Electric Water Heater with Leak Detection and Auto Shutoff from Home Depot for $675 out the door. My handyman and I installed it ourselves in about 3 hours. I actually could have done it myself if I knew the only soldering/sweating was on the exhaust pipe from the emergency pressure overflow and not on the intake... Even if I hadn't done it perfectly, who cares! It's an emergency pressure-release that exhausts outside my garage...
BOTTOM LINE:
Total savings w/handyman labor = $400+ and for a much better hot water tank! Details below:
- Dual 5500 kW heating elements (versus the 4500 kW unit quoted)
- added 12-year warranty versus maybe 6 years on the barebones quoted
- added Leak Detection
- added Auto-Shutoff
- added Wi-Fi app (can adjust temp from anywhere - vacation mode, etc.)
Thank you, City Wide Plumbing, for teaching me an important lesson. Had it been winter, I may have just accepted your ridiculous quote. It turns out that I could shower in 100-degree summer water indefinitely - so I had no sense of urgency. I am quite sure that Lou would have finished the job in 2 hours or less. It was textbook simple. For the record, Payscale.com lists the average plumber hourly wage at $20.21/hour in Phoenix - fully 20x less than your quote of $400/hr! payscale.com/research/US…
Shame on you, City Wide Plumbing.
I have no idea how you people sleep at night...
Let The Buyer Beware.
I could not be happier!! After many horrible experiences with plumbers, I was blown away by this company! It was super easy to make an appointment, the plumber came the same day for no additional charge. Robert Gault was our plumber and he was so nice and helpful! Was on time, fixed our broken toilet, and had it all done in 30 minutes. I would reccomend this company to anyone looking for an honest and reliable plumber... ask for Robert! You wont be dissapointed!
Bill & his team at City Wide Plumbing are excellent. I've been having difficulty with a Nuvo System, a citric acid-based descaling system (although the manufacturer brands it as a water softener, as an alternative to traditional salt-based softeners) installed by another plumbing company. After changing the cartridges in the system, I was noticing blue-tinted water in certain fixtures of the house, indicative of excessive copper in the water, which is what my house is piped with, confirmed with testing. The company that installed it had no answers, and made no attempts to figure out what the issue was, simply blaming it on the system with no further investigation. I called City Wide and, despite not having installed the system, they came out to the house and investigated. Prior to coming out, Bill had taken about an hour of his time - free of charge - to walk me through, over the phone, things to test in the house to see if the problem would solve itself. He is very competent in the area of plumbing, intelligent, and is a great problem-solver, knowing what questions to ask and what things to test. His team is equally knowledgable. When he and two of his team members came out - again, free of charge, all three of them were engaged with the problem, offering good insight. The problem appears to be working itself out, pending further testing and installation of new cartridges in the system. Based on their demonstrated knowledge, experience, and ability to problem-solve, I highly recommend City Wide plumbing for any unique, complex plumbing issue you may have.

5 stars to City Wide! My neighbor recommended them on Nextdoor and now I know why. I had a main line plumbing leak, and not only did they return my call within an hour, they came out the next morning and had the whole situation fixed in under 2 hours for what I would consider a reasonable price. Hopefully I don't have any more issues with the lines in my home, but if I do at least now I know who to call.

I preface this by saying that I am REALLY tough on service people as I am one myself. But I had to add a review....
I had a bathtub issue that I couldn't resolve. I gave up and went immediately to Yelp. After seeing their high reviews I gave them a call. The phone barely rang twice and I got someone on the phone to explain my issue. Immediately, she had me scheduled the next day btwn 12-1:00 pm. I got a call at 11:45 saying my plumber was on their way. At 12:01 my plumber showed up. Polite....handed me a card and shook my hand.
I showed/explained my problem. He took one look at it...and in less than 10 seconds he told me the price and said no problem. Well...30 min later I was up and running and I was pleased by the workmanship and very reasonable price.
Use these guys. Seriously......there is a reason they are ranked so high on Yelp. I hope I don't need another plumber for some time but if I do.....I will gladly give them a call.

I had a five year Bradford and White water heater start leaking. It was still under warranty. Christian Brothers plumbing wanted to charge me 1100 dollars to remove the leaking water heater and put in the new one. This was all labor cost because the new water heater was free because it was under warranty. City-wide Plumbing charged me 511. So glad I called around and listened to my gut that the first quote was way too high.
My call was answered immediately, and I was able to get a next-day appointment for a repair. Lou showed up right at the start of the window I was given, and did his job quickly and professionally. He gave me a rough, reasonable cost estimate before beginning, and came in a couple dollars below it. I'm very pleased with the service I've received from City Wide, and will use them in the future.

Had a morning appointment for an estimate on a bathtub replacement. Technician never showed up. When I called the main number, the gentlemen told me they never gave the request to the technician. Only one chance for a first impression! I'll be going with a different company.
Gave us a quote for $1200 over the phone for a water line reroute and then came to the house and told us the work would be $3900. What a waste of our time.
Edited to add: Citywide has contacted me to remove my review and gone on to harass me with 4 emails today. His information in the response is incorrect. The quote over the phone was clear that it was a reroute. We never made mention of repairing under the slab because that was never our intention. (We were never concerned about our floors - which are wood by the way.) The tech opened my air vent to look at the wall behind our water heater. While opened, I (NOT the tech) changed out the air filter out. He merely closed the door that he had already opened. Thanks.
To be clear, other company quotes for the exact same job CityWide quoted me $3900 for are coming in at $2200-$2500. Also, to give an idea of their overpriced services, last year this same company quoted me $1200 to reinstall 4 sinks (in which all parts were provided.)
Thank You! Great communication, honest and good customer service! Will call Larry, Robert and Stacy again. Appreciate good service! Again, THANKS
City wide plumbing has been a god s end! 60 year old house that needed a complete removal of all decayed cast iron plumbing. What a job it ended up being but they were up to the task. We had them tear out the bathroom including a 500 LB cask iron tub and do a modular shower, sink and toilet, all new! Ran all new water lines and did a great job on reinstalling the hot water tank. A ton of work and it was done. No time delays or excuses, they knew what to do and did it. Use their services and see the difference.
PHENOMENAL service and pricing. Called at 7 AM for a water heater that needed to be replaced. Quote given instantly--$300 lower than the next-best bid. Robert arrived at 12:30 PM and all work was done by 2 PM. Hot water about an hour later. What a great company. PLEASE give them your business . . . you and they deserve it!
I sometimes need basic plumbing work done for my rental property in Tempe. City Wide is my go-to plumber in the greater Phoenix area. Larry and his crew are easy to work with, down to earth, and honest / trustworthy professionals. Every time, they have been reasonable with their pricing, quick to respond, and prompt with their servicing.

I rarely post on here, and only do so when I truly feel compelled (great or terrible!)
This company saved the day as my kids were taking a bath in cold water one night, and in under 24 hours we had a new water heater up and running. I felt compelled to give them an outstanding review
and I just realized I had already posted about these guys previously.
Welcoming anyone into your home, especially circumstances that are some what of an emergency, can be uncomfortable. David from City Wide was a gentleman and friendly as can be. Thankful and glad I stumbled upon these guys again, I will be saving their card for the future.

Came out. Said an additional part was needed and would call back. Never did. Turns out Above All Plumbing came out and fixed it on the spot. No additional part needed. City Wide didn't even take the time to properly investigate the issue. Waste of time with City Wide.
We were very happy and impressed with the friendly customer service and knowledgeable way that Robert handled our water leak problem. He was extremely down-to-earth, and took the time to not only examine every possibility for the problem, but also patiently explained our options and answered all of our questions. They were pleasant on the phone when I called and Robert came to our home within 3 hours. I will definitely use them again.

Beware!!! Any business that can't tell you how they charge or why it will cost what they quote can not be trusted. I will never use city wide again. I called to get a quote and they said they would send someone out for free to give me a quote. Sounded good so Lou came out and saw our nice home and figured he could stick us with a HUGE bill to fix a sump pump problem. He said it would cost us $125 to diagnose the problem, so much for the free quote. It took him less than 30 minutes to take off the lid, unhook 2 pipes and determine the pump needed to be replaced. He quoted $1255. I asked how much was the pump and how much was labor. He refused to break out the cost. Finally he said the pump was about $600 and I luckily had my iPad to google the cost of a sump pump and the top of the line units are $300. He told me that they mark up their parts and then give an all in price for the job. I paid him the $125 plus tax and said no thanks. I ordered one online and it arrived at my door in two days and it took 30 minutes to put the new one in. These guys can not be trusted.

I had David from CityWide plumbing out to my home to clear a clogged kitchen sink. He was very knowledgable and gave me some good tips of how to prevent the clogging from happening again. Before he left, he tested the disposal and other water lines to make sure I was good to go.
They were able to come out right away and remove a leaking valve after we moved our fridge. The tech arrived in the time frame promised and I love that they call to let you know that the tech is on the way. The price was fair and the work was completed quickly and professionally. I had a hot water slab leak recently and had 3 companies give me estimates. City Wide was cheaper and more professional than the other companies so I went with them.
I was able to schedule Robert really fast and he did a great job. We decided with my budget, the best thing to do was abandon the old hot water line under foundation, and run a new PEX line through the ceiling.
He also added a shut off valve after the hot water heater, disconnect an external drain pipe that was left by previous owners (added a cap to it in case I wanted an outside sink later), and anchored two outside lines to my wall that had been detached prior to moving in. All done for no additional charge!
Had Gabe come out at a later time to snake my washer drain and their price was very reasonable.
Really nice guys, easy to schedule with, great work!

Fast service and reasonable price. I highly recommend these folks!
David was awesome! Got the job done in less than 5 minutes! It was a little tricky but David knew exactly what to do! Will definitely be referring everyone I know to City Wide!
FABULOUS service! A micro burst took out a very large Mesquite tree in our yard... pulling up the water main to the house in the process. City Wide was out to my house at 8:30 the next morning despite my calling them after business hours. I couldn't have asked for speedier response.
They knowledgeable technician explained the process to me and proceeded to install a temporary line to the house that allows us to live here while the tree is removed.
HIGHLY recommend these folks for your plumbing needs!

Had a morning appointment for an estimate on a bathtub replacement. Technician never showed up. When I called the main number, the gentlemen told me they never gave the request to the technician. Only one chance for a first impression! I'll be going with a different company.
I had a leak in the seal of an upstairs toilet causing water to drip onto the ceiling downstairs. I called another company and they told me it would take a week to send someone out. I called City Wide and Robert showed up at my door within 2 hours and had the problem fixed within 30 minutes. Both Robert and the office staff were a pleasure to work with. They are very professional and you can tell they care about their customers. I was given a fair price and an additional discount for being a first time customer. Highly recommended for any plumbing needs.
Excellent company. I don't remember how I found out about them, but I'm sure glad I did! Rob has done all the work each time... and each visit has been extremely friendly and great service at a very fair price. I have more work I need done and I'll be happily using them
They were able to come out right away and remove a leaking valve after we moved our fridge. The tech arrived in the time frame promised and I love that they call to let you know that the tech is on the way. The price was fair and the work was completed quickly and professionally. I'll be calling them back to install a new line for my fridge as I progress in my remodel. A++

I've had these guys out several times for issues. Most recently, I needed a new cartridge in my shower. They have always done a great job. Rob even took the time to make friends with my exuberant, over-friendly German shepherd.
I highly recommend City Wide.
Sunday AM. Called at 8:32 and got a call back by Steve at 8:47. Nice! Plumber is out at another job and it's probably going to be 11-12. Cool. Got a call back 15 minutes later... my guy can be there as soon as 9:45 but no rush. I didnt' rush but hustled to get to the rental at 10 and we have a sound assessment and quote on the job by Marshall. A reasonable amount of time later the repair is complete and at exactly the price quoted. What more can you ask for?

I had a water slab leak recently.
The plumber came to my house and he was very professional and polite.
I had a problem with the free estimate with the company policy.
When you see free estimate, it is not what you think.
If they have to use any of their tool to give you an estimate, it is not free and they charge you $125. There is no wording about this charge on their web site and they do not tell you when you call and ask for the free estimate. I would not recommend this company.
Thank You! Great communication, honest and good customer service! Will call Larry, Robert and Stacy again. Appreciate good service! Again, THANKS
Rob, with City Wide was fantastic! I woke-up the other morning and found a little water around the base of the hot water heater and knew that my 10 year old water heater had finally failed. Luckily I caught it before it made too big of a mess! I initially called one of the big plumbing, heating and air companies in the valley and scheduled an appointment. While I was waiting for the appointment, a coworker told me about City Wide. So when the other company showed up and gave me a quote that shocked me, I called City Wide. Stacy gave me a quote over the phone that was well below what the other company quoted. I scheduled it, and Rob arrived in a few hours with my new hot water heater. He installed it quickly and professionally without trying to up-sell me on a bunch of stuff that I didn't need. He took away my old water heater and I paid exactly what was quoted. Rob was professional and friendly, I will call City Wide and ask for Rob the next time I have a plumbing problem.
Thank you Rob and City Wide!
Expensive. They were going to charge almost 25% more than other estimates. The workman was nice and came when he said he would but they clearly pad their pricing.
Call around and check other businesses' pricing before hiring City Wide.

We had a great experience using City Wide. The guys came out and installed a tankless water heater and soft water system! Setting up the appointment, getting them out to the house, and the actual install was seamless. Everything looks and works great! Would definitely recommend using this company!
I had David from CityWide plumbing out to my home to clear a clogged kitchen sink. He was very knowledgable and gave me some good tips of how to prevent the clogging from happening again. Before he left, he tested the disposal and other water lines to make sure I was good to go.

By far the best plumbing service I have used EVER. I am a single 60 year old woman who has been duped, cheated, and ripped off by numerous electricians, plumbers, general contractors and landscapers. Citywide is honest, reasonably priced, prompt, courteous, and cares about customer satisfaction. My water heater installation was lightning fast (30 minutes), works like a dream, and the installer even went out of his way to listen to me vent about a previous plumbing company. I have found my lifetime plumbing company and will NEVER call anyone else.

I had a wonderful experience today with Robert. I was tight on time, and City Wide arranged for Robert to come out same day. They called when he was on his way, and he showed up promptly on time. He was very friendly and professional, and he gave me an estimate on fixing my leaking toilet. His advice was honest, and the estimate was very reasonable! I was very impressed all around!

Just had a great repair done by Robert G. He was very fast, friendly, and patient in explaining what he did to fix the hose issue in the bathroom. I would definitely request him if he's available should any other plumbing problems arise. Thanks, Robert! :)

Came out. Said an additional part was needed and would call back. Never did. Turns out Above All Plumbing came out and fixed it on the spot. No additional part needed. City Wide didn't even take the time to properly investigate the issue. Waste of time with City Wide.

We had a great experience using City Wide. The guys came out and installed a tankless water heater and soft water system! Setting up the appointment, getting them out to the house, and the actual install was seamless. Everything looks and works great! Would definitely recommend using this company!

They did call today to apologize for not following through on the estimate. Not only do they read Yelp reviews, they actually care about customer satisfaction!
Decided to call CityWide based on positive online reviews. We suspected a slab leak and a really expensive repair. Robert showed up within 20 minutes, determined the source of the leak within 5 minutes, and it turned out to be something really simple and inexpensive. He repaired it with a brand new line, we paid, and he left within a half hour of us calling CityWide. Very professional, friendly, and efficient! Would definitely recommend CityWide for anyone's plumbing needs.
