Originally from Long Island, New York, I moved to Arizona 15 years ago looking for a slower pace and more affordable living lifestyle. Arizona is such a beautiful state! As a plumber for over 21 years now, I am very passionate about our work, and just as our slogan says we are Proudly Serving You here in the southeast part of the valley.
We hold high respect for those who are active or retired military duty. I strongly believe it's my turn to give back to the community by launching American Plumbing and Rooter, and by doing so, I feel I am doing a good service for our people.

We had American come out about a year and a half ago for an emergency back up. Sorry just getting to the review! The man who came out was amazing. I believe it may have been the owner. He came out over a weekend last minute when he had a new baby at home! They fixed the problem quickly and gave us a fair price. I would 100% recommend them for any plumbing needs. We will use them again for sure.

Rich answered the phone (I called 4 other plumbers and left messages and they didn't return my call), was professional and showed up on time when he said he would. I highly recommend this company and grateful to have a plumber I can trust.
Rich and his team were awesome! Asked for a quote late afternoon on Monday. Rich got back to me a short while later saying he could come out the next morning. He arrived the next morning and reviewed the issues with my water heater system and explained his recommendations perfectly. Didn't make me feel like I was an idiot for not understanding plumbing, like others I have dealt with. The very next morning Jake and Rich arrived and got to work. Jake did an awesome job explaining what they would and did then did it! My system looks brand new! I will call them any time!

My hot water heater pressure relief valve had a steady stream of hot water coming out. Later on, I also found out that I had a faulty ball valve preventing me from being able to flush out the tank. It was Labor Day and I reached out to American Plumbing and Rooter and a few other plumbers via Yelp. Rich responded very quickly. Out of the 3 responses I got on Labor Day, Rich was the only one who started a dialog with me and went through specific questions to really understand what was wrong with my water heater. He also went through the trouble to look up the serial number and figure out that my water heater was still under warranty.
Rich gave me a couple of options and his quote for replacing the pressure relief valve was very competitive with other quotes I was getting (actualy about $20 less). I decided to go with warranty replacement as it was clear my water heater had a ton of scale build up as I did not have a water softener until very recently and the heater had not been flushed or serviced for 4 yrs.
Rich set me up with an appointment and 2 days later, I have a new water heater and everything is working perfectly. Kevin did the installation. He showed up right on time per my appointment and he did a great job explaining what he was going to do. He did a very tidy job overall and the installation was neat and clean.
Near the end of the install, Rich came out to check and make sure everything was done properly and he explained to me how to flush the water heater and what servicing was necessary to keep it running in top shape.
I was concerned that this was going to be a major PITA. Rich and Kevin made this a fast and easy process. The pricing is very competitive and, most importantly, Rich was the only plumber who responded quickly on Labor Day and actually spent quite a bit of time helping me understand my options instead of sending just a one sentence response or some automated response. It's funny that I am still getting Yelp messages from other plumbers two days later when Rich and American Plumbing and Rooter already solved the issue for me!

The guy on the phone didn't even service my area, and he spent time talking me through my issue and giving me general pricing guidelines so I don't get screwed over by the next guy. If I lived in chandler, I'd use these guys :)
Out of town and water heater started leaking a little. Called these guys when we got home and they came the next morning, first thing before it became a big problem. They installed the water heater in no time at all and sooner than anyone else could promise at a better price. Both installers were polite, professional and friendly.
Super professional guys - didn't try to up-sell me on unnecessary work. Will definitely use them again in the future!

Excellent service!!
We ran into a snag while trying to DIY a toilet replacement in our master bathroom over the weekend. Rich took our call on Sunday evening and was here first thing Monday morning to help us out.
Fair price, great communication, timely appointment, and great customer service! Next time we'll be skipping the DIY thing and calling Rich for our plumbing projects instead!
Need a quick plumbing repair for our washer hookup and Rich was able to come out the next day.

After a burst pipe outside I shut off the water to the house. I called American. Rich asked me to text him photos of the area around the pipe and pointed me to a valve I had never noticed or needed to use before that would shut off the irrigation but would allow water to flow to the house. Then Kevin came out at 7am the next day and did a quality repair in an efficient timeframe.
Rich and his associate installed a new HWH for me today. Great service and no surprises - they did a professional job, taught me a few things, and honored the original quote. Thanks for the help Rich!
Requested a quote for overflowing toilets/showers and Rich was first responder on a Sunday afternoon. After giving him the details on what went wrong, he explained to me the steps they were going to take to try to solve the problem. I was happy with the quote and got an appointment first thing next morning. Our meeting was brief since I had work in the morning but gave a great impression. It turned out that we needed a locating service for our blockage situation which was beyond their scope of work but he effectively communicated this to me even though I could not get to my phone right away. Literally felt like I was talking to a friend and not just some big name company. American Plumbing and Rooter is both professional and personable which is something I value in a service. It was a great experience. Highly recommend!!!
It was my first time using a plumber and I am glad to say that I had a pleasant experience. Rich and the team were courteous, knowledgeable and quick to work. Will definitely use them again.

We recently had a water softener replaced and some other miscellaneous plumbing work done. Rich and Kevin were great to work with. Both very professional and courteous. Rich is a straight shooter and will give his professional recommendations but also be creative in offering alternative and sound options. I'd recommend this company and would definitely have them back if we need any more plumbing work done.
We had kind of an emergency situation with a shower faucet that would shut off. I spoke with the owner and he fully explained what they may need to do including cutting into drywall to get at the plumbing and how much everything could possibly cost. I appreciated the heads up so we could be prepared. They were able to come out same day within a couple hours. Kevin the tech that came was very professional and took care of everything. Now to find a drywall repair.

I opened the kitchen cabinet and found that the garbage disposal had been leaking gallons of gross food-water out of the bottom. My husband alleged that he could easily replace the disposal, but I didn't want to deal with multiple trips to Lowe's and hours of cursing underneath the sink. I read the positive Yelp reviews and gave American Plumbing & Rooter a call. Jake came out the next morning and was great. Very professional, friendly, and experienced. He had the new disposal installed quickly and willingly answered all of my plumbing-related questions. It's more expensive than doing it yourself with a YouTube video, but it's sometimes better to pay a professional for his/her expertise. We need a new hot water heater, and I'll definitely use this company for our future plumbing needs.

Repeat customer - last year they fixed front of house main water valves and bell unit was over 20 years old, this year rear yard hose spigot and pvc pipe auto filler cracked. Called, sent pic they got an estimate back within the hour, appointment next day 7:00a.m. Showed up promptly on time, got work done in an hour. Timely, professional, courteous, quality repair workmanship just like a year ago. 5 star, highly recommend.
Rich gave me an estimate to replace our water heater over the phone after looking at a couple of pictures. Kevin, their technician came out the very next day as promised and finished replacing the heater in just over an hour. Very efficient, very clean. I would definitely hold on to their contact for future plumbing jobs.

I am a repeat customer. American Plumbing and Rooter replaced my water heater and water main shutoff valve. The team was efficient, clean and reviewed the work with me.
Then, I requested services from APnR for my bathroom sink and shower. Kevin showed up at 7:15AM sharp, I walked him through the issues and requests and he went straight to work. He kept the work area clean and was done by 8:30AM.
Rich, who I assume is the owner, responded to all my requests in a timely manner. He even responded at midnight through email to let me know Kevin will be showing up at 7:15AM.

Noticed our water heater was leaking at 7 in the morning. Rich was out within 30 minutes. He examined the unit, explained everything in best detail. He got it replaced and going within 2 hrs. So thankful for his quick response and honesty. The damage could've been alot worse if he didn't act quickly.

The company was quick at responding and communicating with us prior to the appointment to keep us updated on cost and possible fixings that would occur via picture and yelp messaging which was extremely helpful to budget and schedule. Once here, the worker (sorry my husband did not catch his name) did an excellent job in repiping and explaining to my husband what was going on and what needed to be fixed prior to the work so we knew what to expect. It was fast, convenient, and done well. This company will now be our go to plumbers!
I asked to have my shower drain rooted, but my primary issue was with a knocking coming from my shower. After playing phone tag and never officially scheduling anything, the owner calls me on a Monday to have someone out in a few hours. They arrive and don't even try to fix the knocking but just toot my drains, which is fine. The tech claimed the owner would call me about fixing noise from shower. After a week I reach out and he claims in the 20 years of working on showers he's never worked with my brand. He tells me to reach out to the manufacturer. If you're a plumbing service that's never worked on a brand and refuse to even attempt to work on it, you're lazy and don't belong in this field of work. If you only work on brands you've worked on, eventually you'll be phased out. Was looking for a plumber to rely on for this repair and future ones and this is not the right one at all. Will never use again and wouldn't recommend unless you like not getting things fixed

My hot water tank went bad this morning. American Plumbing came out within in an hour. This is a small company, that has integrity honest and very competitive prices. My go to company.

Very happy with this company. Rich answers the phone not a machine, and gets right back to you if you text him. He is very informative and ford quality work. This will be our plumbing company from now on.
American Plumbing tru s to save me some cash by helping me out by first providing me with directions on how to change the PSI myself. However the regulator appeared to be bad. We scheduled a time that would work for us both to find out that the regulator was on the wrong side. The plumber was professional, up front, not pushy and provided the pros and possible cons due to the old plumbing.

I use American Plumbing for all of my plumbing needs. Rich and the guys have helped me with laundry room piping issues as well as water valves throughout the house. American also installed my water softener which we absolutely love. American does the job right and if you aren't satisfied they will do whatever it takes to make you completely satisfied. Rich was very clean and professional. He was upfront about all the costs along with different scenarios for how the job could go. He called about twenty minutes before arriving. Also, he carries many supplies with him, so there was no parts run. The bathroom was left as clean as he found it.

This company does what they claim! First returned my phone call in a timely manner. Next gave me a competitive price after my describing the job (replace two leaking outdoor faucets). Made an appointment for the next weekday available. Let me choose the time for the repair and told me I would get a call when the service tech was on his way. I had an expected window of two hours.
On the day of the work to be done I got a call telling me they were on the way. I was at the early part of the time frame window. Tech was here within 20 minutes and started the job. It was completed within about 1/2 hour. We discussed what the two faucets were recommended for, one line bypasses my water conditioning the other is for hose connections.
I paid with a credit card and was emailed my receipt immediately.
Special note: Technician was very friendly and he wore his MASK the entire time. Important in the present pandemic environment.
I will most likely use this company again as my house ages.

Rich is just so knowledgeable! I was happy to have a partner and friend to help me with my water heater leak. The best experience I've had with a plumber in Ahwatukee/Chandler area. Two new hose bibs to replace others that were installed 5 yrs ago, superior parts and repair from before. 24 hrs from initial call, very professional.
I have found my plumber for life. I had 3 different plumbers come out to fix my water pressure in my shower, and NONE of them gave me a straight answer about what was wrong. American Plumbing and Rooter and Rich were fantastic. He was honest, upfront, and realistic about everything that needed to be done to fix my problem. Jake was the technician they sent and he did an amazing job! He even took the time to explain to me what he did, why my water pressure was low, and any maintenance I can do in the future. 10/10 would recommend to anybody for reliable and superb customer service.
This morning I had my water heater go out. I called several places and was quoted more than $1000. Then I called American Plumbing and Rooter, I received a much lower price quote, I asked if they could come out today, and they were at my house an hour later. Rich completely only replaced what was needed and nothing more. Excellent prices and excellent service. I will definitely be using American Plumbing and Rooter for any future plumbing needs.
They responded promptly and dealt with my issues in a professional way. I really liked dealing with them and would definitely call them again if the need arose. Their price was right too!

Easy to work/communicate with Rich, honest and upfront! My water heater was not woking and the technician came and first tried with the pilot light reset, worked ! charged only for $39.00 for the trip, no service charge. Also, the technician had his MASK on all the time.

I did want to review how helpful Rich was...I was on the phone with Rich for 10 minutes, and it was apparent within the first couple of minutes of our conversation that I didn't actually have a plumbing issue, it was an appliance issue. Thanks for spending the time to talk to me knowing I might not patronize American Plumbing and Rooter. If I do ever have a plumbing issue you guys will be the first company I call.

These guys are fantastic....We ran into a rather unique situation but they continued to work the problem until we found an appropriate solution. Even when that meant the owner coming out to our home late on Friday afternoon. Fair prices, great communication and great service. Highly recommend!
I had a slow drip in a sink valve. I have found, finally, my go-to plumbing company.
Rich scheduled me for an appointment just 1 to 3 hours after my call. Kevin let me know when he started toward my house. He arrived well within the 2 hour appointment window.
I decided to replace the hot & cold cartridges on two sinks just to avoid having to have a second or third visit. Then one cutoff valve under the sink wouldn't work. I decided to have all four cutoff valves replaced too. (I had what I refer to as scope creep.) Not a word about me requesting 8 times more work messing up his schedule.
Kevin did the entire job in about an hour, including running out to buy the oddball cartridges. He did not miss a step. Everything worked first time. No little drips or leaks to touch up.
I seldom call in professionals to do work and feel I got my money's worth. American Plumbing & Rooter gave me my money's worth. Dollars well spent. In NO WAY too expensive. Outstanding.
Worked with Rich, and found him to be very knowledgeable, helpful, and honest. Will definitely continue to use them whenever we might need plumbing assistance.

I had an issue with an irrigation hose leaking no matter what I did to turn it off and called American Plumbing & Rooter on a Sunday during Labor Day Weekend. Rich called back right away and gave me an honest assessment of what I should do over the phone and his advice took care of the issue temporarily until I can get an irrigation company after the Holiday weekend to address this situation. The honest quick friendly response and advice were much appreciated and I would definitely call back for future plumbing issues.
I called American Plumbing at 8am with an urgent need to replace two shutoff valves so my contractor could proceed with my floor install.
Rich was at my house by 12pm the same day and quickly replaced the valves. He also pointed out a couple other fixes to prevent leaks and even installed a beautiful new faucet. Rich was friendly, professional, and efficient- I will definitely use American Plumbing again!
Rich from American Plumbing was extremely efficient and responsive. He worked with a leak detection specialist to diagnose what I feared was a slab leak. Also very fair pricing. Highly recommend.

Had a great experience with Rich! We hired him to replace some hoses and valves on our water heater and also install a temperature relief valve and line. He also installed an RO system for us under our kitchen sink. He was very easy to work with, on time for the estimate and repairs, flexible with our schedule and fair on his pricing. We plan to use him again in the future for our plumbing needs.
He was able to answer all my questions and trouble shoot my issue. Will use them for a long time in the future.
We had our water heater go out of course on a weekend. I called a few numbers with no luck and then I dialed American Plumbing and Rooter even though it was a Sunday afternoon Rich picked up the phone. He was extremely friendly and courteous. He walked me though all of my options and answered all of my questions. After our discussion we concluded that I needed a new tank. We ran the numbers on my old one and I was still within warranty! Finally found a great Plumber. Was having some problems with our bathrooms and gave Rich a call. Rich came over quickly had a solution and gave a good price. Service from start to finish was top notch. You cannot go wrong here great honest professional company.
We just moved to Phoenix from up north and was told do not drink the water! So we made a few calls to plumbing companies that offer water filtration and soft water systems. American plumbing came out and sold us this great water all in one system that uses no salt or zero maintenance for 10 years! It's amazing no only of our water but our hair and skin feels much softener plus e don't have all that excessive minerals build up on our facets like when we first moved in

My kitchen faucet sprayer house malfunctioned and made a huge water mess. I called Rich at 9:15pm to make an appointment for the next morning. He was very accommodating with my schedule and showed up right when he said he would. Rich and his apprentice were knowledgeable and professional. He didn't have the part I needed on his truck so he went to Home Depot to get it! He came right back and installed my kitchen faucet quickly and neatly. I texted him later in the day to ask a question and he can back my my house to check it out and make a quick adjustment. Highly recommended!
As other reviewers noted, this company is great. Rich was prompt in providing a detailed estimate for replacing a toilet and leaking valve. Price was fair and work was scheduled promptly. Jake arrived on time and communicated clearly what he was doing and how the job was going. Unfortunately the toilet I bought was cracked on the bottom and Jake could not complete the install. He cleaned up the area and felt bad he could not complete the work.
When I did get a replacement toilet later that day, Rich arranged for Jake to come the next day for the install. Once again, Jake was right on time. He did great work and left my bathroom so clean it never looked like he was there.

As honest as they come.
Our sewer has backed up twice in a month. So gross!!! Now, it's July 3rd and almost everyone is on a 4 day weekend in a matter of hours.
Rich and Jake were out immediately and gave us the bad news...roots in our sewer line. A LOT of roots which will cost A LOT to repair. After he saw the look on my face, Rich gave me a suggestion. They would grind out what roots they could so we could go about our daily routines BUT considering where the problem was, I should contact the City.
As I dealt with the City, Rich contacted a locating service for me. They were on my property in an hour to locate the problem and record a video of the damaged pipe.
Long story short, the city picked up the tab of $15,000! Rich and Jake could have cleared the pipe (or worse, replaced it!), charged us a ton of money and been on their way. Instead, they did what was best for US. We cannot thank Rich and his team enough for their honesty and we will recommend American Plumbing & Rooter to anyone that will listen!

Rich and Jake were both wonderful to work with. They were out to replace our water heater within 24 hours of our phone call (and it was not a emergency). During the replacement, we ran into an issue due to how the builder placed the original tank and gas lines. They worked together to sort it out and were able to give us the size tank we needed! Rich even follows up with a personal text and thank you after the work is completed. Very customer service oriented company, which is so hard to find these days!
I want to compliment Rich and his team for the great job they did at my house yesterday. Repairing a main line leak that runs under a driveway is expensive no matter who does the work. After getting several quotes from other outfits I chose his. It wasn't the lowest quote but the strategy Rich was planning to use and his explanation of why it might cost more made sense to me. I have no regrets. He did what he said he was going to do when he said he was going to do it - while communicating what was happening all along the way. Shout out to Rich's dad, who just happened to be along that day, for a really good financing idea. And to Rich for finding a problem I was having in my attic!

We used the service for washer valve replacement. The work included cutting the copper tube and welding a new valve. We got a quote within minutes from first phone call and a service window. The service was done in no time, full explanation and good clean work. We are happy with the service.

Truly outstanding service! We woke up to 4 inches of water in our garage and a flooded laundry room. Rich had someone out to our house within two hours to repair the problem. The repair tech was professional, knowledgeable and very efficient. The price for the repair was reasonable and they didn't charge an extra emergency fee. I always prefer working with companies that have such strong reviews on Yelp. Rich did not disappoint yesterday when I needed a new water heater: He responded quickly (replied to my initial inquiry in less than 30 minutes, and installation was complete in less than 24 hours), and offered plenty of helpful tips and advice and answers to my questions. His pricing was near the low end of the range of bids I received, and he even reduced the price a bit when he determined one step wouldn't be necessary. I'm confident I ended up with a good new water heater, and that the work was performed well. Highly recommended.
I contacted them about purchasing and installing a tankless natural gas water heater. After telling the man who answered where we lived and what we wanted he proceeded to tell me that a tankless water heater would be 3-4 times as expensive as a traditional water heater and that it may not be right for me. After clarifying that we had a small home and only two people living here and our current natural gas water heater was failing he quoted me $3500-4000 for the purchase and installation of a tankless system.
He talked himself out of my business in about 2-1/2 minutes.
Although they have a 5 star rating on yelp as of today, I was not impressed.
After being completely stumped as to why an upstairs toilet would constantly clog, I finally broke down and looked for a plumber. After getting several quotes, Rich was the only one that really took the time to ask questions and come up with some ideas. We made an appointment for him to come out and not only did he showed up, but was able to come a little early. Since my wife was here and not me, I notice I got an email receipt pretty quick. Wife called and said our girls apparently flushed a deodorant stick down the toilet . Rich was able to get it out pretty quick! I appreciate the time he took to ask questions and was able to get the toilet working the way it should again. I highly recommend this company for your plumbing repairs and will call them again next time I need something!
Rich is excellent! It's easy to see that his work is very well done, but I think what sets him apart is his honesty and fairness. Not only did he charge me LESS than he originally quoted, but he also told me that I did NOT need to do another job I was worried about. I don't know too many service providers who do stuff like this. He'll be my go-to from now on and I will be happy to recommend him to anyone.

I found these guys through Yelp. I've had other plumbers that gave me an estimate and the prices I received were way too high !!
I received a response from them right away and I told them if they can come check out the 3 sinks I needed to be fixed.. They came asap and gave me an estimate. They had the best prices.
They came today to fix one sink in my guest bathroom that was leaking, the master bed room had two sinks that were leaking also, and that's clogged. All of that were fixed for $318. Not bad at all. I checked the work they did and I was satisfied.
I definitely recommend these guys. Anytime I need a plumber I'll make sure to call them again. Thank you American plumbing for being responsive and reliable!

They removed my old kitchen faucet and installed a new one. I'm very happy with the service provided. Rich was quick to reply with my questions. I had contacted him through Yelp in the afternoon and they were able to come out the next day (early). They came before the quoted time frame, which was a plus. My water heater went out and wouldn't light, I decided to give Rich a call as he had great reviews. He didn't disappoint. He showed up within the promised time window and gave me a courtesy call 10 mins before he showed up. He immediately identified the issues and I had to replace my water heater. I figured as much based on my own inspection so I know he wasn't trying to sell me anything I didn't need. He verified the warranty was in place and that helped me save a good amount of money, he didn't try to sell me any other units or anything, just the warranty replacement which is exactly what I wanted. He competed the work very quickly in a few hours. Overall very reasonable price and very professional. He was on time, honest, and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended and I'd use him again for my plumbing needs.
This morning, Monday 09/26/2022 Rich, the owner came out to unclog my Master Bathroom sinks. I phoned him on Sunday and surprisingly he answered his phone and assured me my issues would be ok until Monday morning. He scheduled me for first thing Monday. Rich was EXCELLENT! He showed up on time, asked what the problem was and started working on the issues. He was so neat, clean and very polite. Resolved the problem in no time and explained what I needed to do in the future if I have any issues. My husband and I needed a new toilet, and originally purchased one from the online mega retailer we all know, thinking we could check reviews beforehand, then ask American Plumbing to install it. As is often the case in life, all did NOT go according to plan. Only the tank portion of the toilet arrived, and we didn't even know the bottom part missing until the plumber unpacked things! He put me on the phone with Rich, who was able to offer an even better replacement than the one we tried to purchase from the mega-site. A short time later we were back in business again.
Having worked with this company twice now, I won't be returning to online shopping (or any other plumber for that matter) for anything they may be able take care of. It's difficult to know who you can trust these days, but we've been very happy with this company. It appears that not all the good ones are gone :-) Thanks Rich !
I needed to fix a leak in my sink due to a problem with my popup. I sent the quote request well past 9 pm on Sunday night. Rich was prompt and messaged me back and forth Sunday night, set up an appointment for Monday morning.
Kevin showed up Monday morning, was efficient and professional. Their rates are reasonable. Qualify of work excellent.
AP&R is a keeper.
PS (Extra points for ethics and honesty: Kevin tried to make it work with my off the shelf Home depot parts and showed me why it would not work (because of mismatched components), before he suggested replacing it with a brand new Popup.)
American Plumbing was able to come the next day. Others were 2 days out.
We knew the issue ... it has happened before ... it was a clog in the small kitchen pipe that runs under the slab before joining the larger toilet pipe.
The Lowe's $30 25' drain auger was not long enough to reach, and a rubber pressure bladder using a hose hookup did not work.
The price was more than hoped but probably fair ... and it was the price quoted on the phone. $249 plus the $39 trip fee. And that did include a useful snake video after clearing.
The video included in the service did show the buildup of years of grease on the inside of the pipe. And this provided them the opportunity to offer hydro jetting that would clean out that grease. But the price would be between $400 to $800, depending upon how many passes were required. (This was for a straight small pipe approximately 40' in length.)
And while they would take off the $249 clog removal from the price, the price could have been up to an additional $550. Instead I will ask the renters to pour off grease before cleaning and to put large amounts of kitchen scraps in the trash instead of the garbage disposal.
I do recommend this business for the basic service, but be warned, you might be tempted to pay for the additional hydro jetting after seeing the snake camera video.

I live in Ahwatukee and 3 years ago my house was flooded by the 100 year rain. We had to gut the whole house and remodel. I have needed plumbing for multiple reasons and have interviewed and worked with probably 50 local plumbing companies and have been dissatisfied with all of them. Everyone is always late, non responsive, arrogant, sloppy and over priced.
Thank God I had a neighbor told me about American Plumbing. I called and actually had someone answer the phone and be very concerned and respectful about my leaking shower and broken water pipe to the fridge. The owner came out the very next morning at our scheduled time and was not only pleasant to be around and chat with but did clean good work on both my shower and fridge. I wish I would have knows about this plumber 3 years ago........
I would recommend this company to do any and all plumbing job you might have. I wont ever call or work with another plumber ever again. I will only work with American Plumbing and Rooter.

Fantastic communication and scheduling. A slot opened up earlier than what was scheduled and they called me to let me know they could arrive early if desired.
The plumber was right on time and quickly fixed my toilet flange issue. He even offered tips on shimming the toilet so I did not have issues when I set it back.

A water pipe broke in my uncle's front yard while he was on vacation this summer. A slow, gentle leak octupled his water usage. Six weeks later and a few thousand miles away, my uncle got his water bill and his jaw drop registered 6.8 on the Richter scale. Japanese nuclear reactors rhythmically swayed in agreement.
Who did he call? Me.
Who did I call? Rich.
He was out the next morning with clear options, simple pricing and then the hard choice that confronts every dweller in Plato's Cave. I could take the blue pill -- the story ends, my uncle wakes up in his watery bed and believes he can move in with me. Or the red pill -- I stay in Mesa, and Rich shows me how deep the pipe trench goes. Remember: all he's offering is the truth. Nothing more.

Rich responded to my Yelp inquiry fast. Was able to text him pictures of the water softener which needed to be replaced and explain what I was looking for. Rich proposed a solution which met my needs at a reasonable price and we agreed to move forward.
Kevin, the technician assigned to my job, was on time and very professional. Kevin performed the service efficiently and hassle free. Rich came by towards the end of the installation to ensure everything had gone according to plan. Rich also inspected a few other plumbing concerns I had about other non-water softener items while on site.
Will definitely be giving American Plumbing the first look at any future plumbing needs I have.

I called this business after seeing their truck. Rich has been here three times now and I cannot say enough good about him and his service. Rich is friendly and professional, does great work, and is fast ad efficient. Highly recommend.
I highly recommend this company. I had two handymen waste my time and tell me they couldn't hook up the pipes and my sink with any guarantee it wouldn't flood after. Rich not only quoted me a better price , he showed up on time and did an accurate and good job. He understands what he's doing and I will use him for my future plumbing repairs. Highly recommended. I had some last minute plumbing issues I needed to address and I reached out to Rich through Yelp regarding the scope of my project. Rich immediately got back in touch with my email inquiry and gave me insight to the potential causes of the issues I described as well as estimates AND he was able to get me scheduled right away knowing I was working on a tight time frame(Rich - again thank you for this!).
Rich and Jake came out earlier today and addressed all of my plumbing issues(dripping shower heads, water temp issues, installation of a new faucet, reverse osmosis, etc.). Throughout the process, Rich and Jake were highly professional and up front with costs associated with each issue we were rectifying. Rich even brought a new issue to my attention and provided me with a referral for water that was collecting underneath of my shower flooring. I especially appreciated Rich taking the time to elaborate on why he used certain components and did things a certain way - the point being that Rich is honest, thorough and does things the correct way, not the cheap way.

I was purchasing a home and the inspector recommended we get a sewer line scope due to the mature trees in the yard and the complications that can arise from roots. Due to time restrictions on the inspection period when buying a house, I needed to find someone that could get it done in a hurry. Rich, the owner, answered first thing and was able to fit me in the following morning. He talked me through the specific procedure over the phone and was very reasonable compared to the other companies I quoted.

Spoke to Rich today asking for a hot water heater recommendation for a new house being built in the Queen Creek subsurbs. Kevin came right on time and efficiently unclogged both the bathroom lav and the laundry slow drain. Very kind, polite, and professional. Plus his helper was great too.
Needed a plumber to troubleshoot a slow bath drain. Rich got back to me right away and we scheduled a Saturday appointment, which many places won't do. The job was anything but typical but Rich showed up on time and used a camera line to actually see what was going on. He then used an auger to clean the line. After that he tested it to make sure the problem was solved. I appreciated his expertise and honest opinions when it came to this job. On top of that, the cost was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Rich and American Plumbing to anyone and will definitely be calling them again in the future when needed.
Had a plumbing emergency and got a very quick appointment (less than 12 hours). Kevin came when scheduled and completed the repair in less than 20 minutes. Exactly what was needed and done for the price quoted. American will be my first call for any future needs.
By far the best plumbing experience ever! Second to none, Rich is a professional. I have his number in my phone and will never bother with another plumber. He was able to extract a mass of tree roots without having to destroy the floor or the pipes. Saved me thousands! I recently bought an older house. I knew the pressure regulator outside the was old. I yelped plumbers and found AP&R. I wish I remembered the tech's name. I'm telling you, This guy is a professional!!! He replaced the meter, water faucet and everything. Water pressure is way better.

Called at 7am because our water heater went out. Talked to Rich and he gave me a few reasons why but basically asked how old the water heater was and that they now usually only last 6-8 years and that's with doing yearly maintenance which I failed to due. Jake came out around 8am and said Rich was following him with a new water heater I decided to purchase. Jake talked to me about what he was going to do and proceeded. Rich and Jake replaced the water heater and was done about 9:30. Rich explained to me about maintenance. They are very professional but friendly. Easy to communicate with. Couldn't ask for better service and professionalism. Highly recommended.

So our water heater wasn't working and I called the company that installed it 6 years ago and the guy answered, but said he was driving and would pull over as soon as he could and call me back in like 5 minutes... needless to say an hour went by and no call.... so I decided to look on Yelp and I gave this company a try.
the gentleman who answered my call was polite, responsive, and took down all my information as well as the information on the water heater to see what was covered under the warranty for me. The next morning, he called me when he was fifteen to twenty minutes away... and showed up right on time, he was pleasant and professional. He went straight to work figured out the problem fixed it immediately gave me some good suggestions on what it may need in the future, but didn't try to push me to buy right away. I could tell he was honest about our equipment and everything turned out to cost less than what I was expecting.
I will definitely use them again it's refreshing to have an honest and reasonably priced company that I know I can call for future work.

Great service! Rich came out one morning when our toilet and shower were overflowing and handled everything promptly and efficiently. I really appreciated how thorough Rich was and his equipment shows you very clearly what the issues are so he's not forcing anything you don't need. My fiancé loved the convenience of requesting a quote and setting up an appointment through Yelp! I was given a call in advanced to let me know someone would be arriving within 30 minutes.
The two gentleman that showed up to check out our leaky toilet introduced themselves and got right to work making sure to double check that I understood the quote, pricing and checking in with me on any other issues they saw once they started working. I'd highly recommend them!
Rich and his team are great! I called them for a second opinion after a plumber who the home warranty sent out try to upsell me on services I did not need. Kevin was able to snake a line that 3 other plumbers were unable to do! He put a camera down the line to show me exactly what was happening, proving that the other plumber was trying to upsell me. Rich and Kevin then used a water jet to clear the line all the way back to the sewer connection. I haven't had a problem since. These guys have a well-deserved great reputation and will be my first call for any plumbing needs.
While reviewing a plumbing company wasn't a high priority for me, for obvious reasons...I had a plumbing question. Google could only get me half way there. I called up American Plumbing and was greeted by a pleasant man (I don't recall his name, for this story we'll call him Luigi). He answered my question regarding my new home and a bad odor coming from my laundry room. He didn't seek out profit or jump to ordering a plumber to come over. He simply answered my question and made me feel better about the situation. That's some good CS! You the man, Luigi!
I had a leak with my washing machine and needed the shut off valve fixed so that I could shut off the water to the machine. They were informative over the phone and very helpful. The repair man was great. He fixed the valves in 45 minutes! The repair man even closed the front door every time he left the house to get something out of his truck. This impressed us because we've had numerous repair people in the house over the years and they never shut the door behind them when they have to leave the house. If you have pets you understand why this is impressive. We have numerous other plumbing issues that need to be fixed and we will for sure be calling them again in the future.
10/10 Experience!! This was probably the smoothest and easiest Yelp and service interaction I've ever had. We asked for quotes Sunday night when we saw our water heater leaking/dripping, they responded so fast and were at my house Monday morning (the next day) with a new water heater. Super quick and efficient, they checked my old unit and gave me updates I could easily understand. They were in and out within two hours, everything cleaned up and very professional. My inbound water supply hose bib corroded and had a leak. American Plumbing & Rooter responded to my service request via yelp within minutes had me take a picture of the issue provided me a quote within 20 minutes. The quote included taxes and there were no hidden increases or charges in the end. They made appointment came when they said they would and did the job quickly and efficiently. I would definitely reccomend them and will use them again in the future.
So I detected a possible water leak under the laundry room floor. Looked up companies on Yelp and came across American Plumbing and gave them a call. Unfortunately they don't work in my area. However all was not lost. Rich took the time to listen to my situation and then went on to recommend a local company who could help. He also gave me very valuable information which I didn't think to ask about. If you need work in the Chandler area, call Rich and co.
I called American Plumbing and Rooter concerning a leak around a toilet base. I was given an estimate of what it would take to fix the leak and the approximate cost. Within two hours, a plumber was at the door and replaced a flange and wax seal. The plumber was efficient and professional and all work was completed in about an hour. I've had several different plumbing companies perform various work over the years and have been disappointed with all of them. I think I have a new, go-to company for any future plumbing needs...

Better than expected experience from start to finish! We have Old Republic Home warranty, and we normally just go with whoever they send us (if covered by warranty), but this time, we had to go outside the warranty because the job (replacing an old leaking hose bib and anti-siphon valve connected to the main water valve outside the house) was not covered under our home warranty.
We scoured Yelp for plumbers with solid 5-star reviews, and came up with American Plumbing. Submitted an inquiry online and got a response within hours with an appt for the following Monday morning. Got a heads-up call that they are on their way and were greeted by Keith (??) who gave us his honest opinion with no upsell. We had an option to ride it out until the thing is truly busted but decided on the proactive option (since the parts were all original with some corrosion and things will only get more expensive over time due to inflation). The plumber got to work immediately...got a veteran's discount and the price was amazing!
Overall, my impression is that the company is well-run, efficient, professional (guys who show up on time, give you plenty of heads up before coming, and respect your space by not leaving a mess behind!)...and a keeper! Will come back for future services!!
One request: it would be great if they can also work with home warranty companies (i.e. Old Replublic or American Home Service).

We had American Plumbing replace our front spigot and replace the valve that feeds our pool leveler in back. They also pulled out an old Reverse Osmosis System under a kitchen sink and fixed a bathroom sink faucet. I highly recommend American Plumbing based on our experience today. They called before they came, they showed up on time, and we're very professional and personable. Also, importantly, they charged us what they quoted us over the phone, even though they had to do a little bit extra work to make it all right. We are located in Gilbert and I would definitely use these guys again. Thank you American Plumbing.
Finally, found a plumber I can trust. I needed to have a few bibs replaced. Rich answered my calls and texts very quickly. He scheduled me ASAP. He gave me a quote and a time to start the work. Called me to let me know he was enroute and on time. He was very friendly and personable. He explained exactly what he was going to do and got to work. One of bibs was going to be tricky, but now looks perfect.
When he was done he ask me to inspect his work, and made sure I was completely satisfied with the job. He cleaned up the after himself.
Time for bill. Which I thought was going to be more than the quote, due one of the items being a difficult install. NOPE, Rich is a professional and old school, his word is his bond. The bill was what he quoted.
Plumber that shows up on time, and gets the job. I am a satisfied customer.

We dealt with the owner directly on our visit. We found Rich to be very personable and friendly. He arrived on time with no delays. He explained what he thought the problem was in a very concise manner. We found him to be very respectful and honest. Rich came to our house to check our sprinkler valves that were leaking. He was friendly, outgoing and straight forward...honest
My toilets were backing up and I couldn't unclog, the the sewer was backing up In my shower and outside. I found American Plumbing on Yelp. I called and spoke with Rich and he could get to me within 2hrs. Loved the Yelp discount for the call. Well, Kevin showed up within the hour and it fixed in no time. Kevin was awesome, nice, courteous and patient with my questions although it's hot outside :). Thanks Kevin for explaining what happened and getting my toilets going again and Rich for a great customer service experience.

Very knowledgeable, and excellent customer service. We needed a second opinion and called late in the day. Kevin came out first thing the next morning and inspected our sewer line with a camera. Turns out the expensive repair the other company wanted to do wasn't needed. Highly recommend!
Rich came back and saved the day again. We just moved into a rental home and one morning our entire master bathroom flooded. We called rich and he was Over in less than an hour. He has this crazy camera that goes down pipes. He found a 2x4 in our freaking pipe. I could not believe it. He worked perfectly with my landlord. I came home and it was like nothing happened.
Great job by Rich and his company. His commitment and communication is excellent! Had a toilet and sewer smell problem. Rich showed up on the agreed upon time frame and showed video of the problem and quoted a fair price. Completed the work and cleaned up. So our disposal stopped working. My first thought was I needed to press the reset button on the unit, so I open the cabinet and find the sheet pan we have under the sink (that was a good decision!!) is full of water. Fortunately none had overflowed into the cabinet and destroyed the wood, at least it hadn't YET. I run a little water in the sink and watch as water streams out the bottom of the disposal. Have to replace the garbage disposal
I found this company on Yelp. Good comments, figured I would give them a try. Of all the problems to have this is probably the least risky when it comes to trying someone new. The person on the phone was very upfront with me and advised me to wait until Monday (this was a Friday) to avoid the weekend service call rate. So I did.
Communication was good. Originally scheduled to come out between 8-10am, around 8am we got a call it would be more like 10-11am. And he ended up arriving right at 10am. It took about an hour, but no apparent problems and it was done. Appears to work properly, no leaks. Pricing was reasonable.
Based on this service call I can recommend them and I plan to utilize their services the next time we have a plumbing issue.

So I did not have this company come out but I think had I been able to I would have been happy. When I called (on a Sunday) Rich let me know they would not be able yo handle an emergency call, due to just overload of demand. Despite this, he took the time to give me some estimates on the work so if we could wait or if we called another company we knew what to expect. THAT is above and beyond. He knew there was a chance of not making money from us but was still kind and informative. I'll definitely try again in the future
As a brand new homeowner I had no idea where to start when my hot water wasn't working. Before a technician was schedule the person on the phone tried trouble shooting with me to avoid charging me for a visit. They had someone out to me within an hour. The technician was professional and made sure everything was in working order. He also educated me about the water heater and what to expect for maintenance and repairs over the next few years. I will be calling every time I have a plumbing issue!
This is the second time I have used American Plumbing and Rooter and they get another 5 star review from me! This time they replaced my gas water heater. My 9 year old water heater started producing brown water with sludge - Rich provided a super quick response, and patiently answered all my questions (What's the model number? What's the warranty? How many BTUs? Will you install a pan - currently do not have one- ? What's your favorite color?) With a few pictures and some text messages, they provided a really competitive quote (I asked three companies on Yelp for quotes) and scheduled the work the next day. And I would like to add that I was totally impressed with their respect for COVID- arrived wearing a mask and kept it on the whole time - Even though all the work was in the garage! Anyway - work was done on time, for a great price, and with total professionalism. This is my go to company for plumbing from now on - You rock!

It's always hard to find honest people you can trust. Your search is over because American Plumbing is a company you can trust. After getting a reduced quote from one of the big plumbing companies in the valley for a new water softener, I called another company that refused to give me a quote. They had to come see it. Finally I called American Plumbing, texted them 4 or so pictures and got a quote in about 10 minutes. I ended up spending $1,200 less and the work was done on time and UNDER my original quoted price. We have found our new plumber for sure. The customer service was impeccable. They deserve every 5 star rating they get.
We had a leak under our sink. Rich was the first to respond and with the best price hands down! There is no need to waste your time and shop around.
That's not all though! The technician came on time and was clean and answered all my questions!
It's never ideal to have a leak in your house but you are in good hands with these guys!
Use this guy! Rich is amazing! He is quick to respond, is honest about the work that needs to be done, his prices are comparable to other companies, is on time, communicates very well, and ACTUALLY DOES GREAT WORK!
We had a main sewer line issue. We had several plumbers out before I called Rich, and it wasn't until the third company came out that we found we had a separation in our sewer line. I called around for quotes, and all the companies fell around the same estimate. One company was incredibly pushy, one company appeared completely incompetent, and then there was Rich.
I come from a family of small business owners, and I like to support other small businesses. The fact that the owner is the contact person, comes out for the estimate, and actually does the work is awesome. The fact that he is friendly and down to earth, just an added bonus.
I know our repair was not an easy one, but Rich coordinated with everyone very well so the major project only took a couple days from beginning to end. I was expecting it to take much longer to remove our driveway, replace the line, and have the new driveway poured. I definitely recommend calling Rich if you need a plumber! We had an incredible experience with Rich's company. Our water heater broke a day before we were to leave town. I was in full panic mode. I called Rich and he immediately picked up and said he could be at my house in 1-2 hours. He showed up on time and was very professional. He clearly explained what needed to be done and was thorough in his work and communication. First time meeting the guy and it was easy to trust him. He installed a new water heater before the day was over and I was so relieved that he came through. Good work all the way!
Rich was very responsive to my request, and Kevin came over to take a look at the issues with our kitchen and bathroom sinks. Called them for a pvc pipe repair that goes from the back flow preventer to the irrigation system, and they were honest and told me it would be cheaper to go with an irrigation repair company. They also answered a couple of questions I had regarding the shutoff valves. I value honesty, so I decided to give them a good review. I'll be contacting them if I have plumbing issues in the future.

Our 7-year old water heater started to leak. I requested for multiple quotes on Yelp. American Plumbing is quick to respond and provide a competitive quote. While the price is not the lowest, Rich is very responsive to questions, and transparent about the work, such as providing the exact model of the water heater that will be installed. Because of that, I decided to go with them. They showed up early morning the 2nd day as promised, and get the replacement done in an hour. The owner, Rick, let me schedule via text, tech showed up on time, more than fair pricing and they didn't charge for one of my issues that was minor. I called APAR up to get a quote after another plumber gave me a high estimate. Rich came out that week and gave an estimate that was half of the original quote.
One of the reasons why I chose APAR was because Rich wasn't trying to pressure me into needing any work, or scaring me that my house would flood otherwise, and he was patient.
Got an appointment scheduled, they came out, did their work, took a look at a few other things, got that squared away and scheduled a soft water install.
They also let me watch the things they were doing and ask all the questions that I had. Rich and Jake answered my questions and were very helpful. I am glad to have found my go-to plumber .

Had some huge work done by these guys a few years ago, minor works in between, water heater replacement today and yesterday. Found the water heater leaking for who knows how long and immediately called them, they were out the following day... leak was bad enough that the pedestal needed to be removed. Took care of that and per their recommendation got a stand, they were out the following day to complete installation complete with training g and reminder stickers for maintenance. Excellent communication, excellent responsiveness, excellent recommendations, I can't tell you guys enough... you find a company that is amazing like these guys and you keep them forever.
I had a bad leak in the pipe leading to the hose bib and had never used a plumber at this house, so I went on Yelp and found APAR in Chandler. They had great reviews so I gave them a call. They were able to come out the next day and fix the leak. It was a lot more work than we thought it would be, but the price was very fair given the number of hours it took to make the repair. Very professional. I will definitely use them again.
We had Richie come by to put in a new water valve and pump for some new equipment we will be putting in our laboratory. Not only did Richie show up within an hour of my call for a quote, he was able to actually complete the job as well.
Besides giving us a reasonable price, his customer service was on point. He explained in detail what he was doing to our lab manager, and was also incredibly courteous with the rest of our staff.

Rich was incredibly responsive, thorough, friendly, informative, and honest. I grabbed extra business cards from him because I would absolutely utilize his services again and encourage my friends and family to do the same.
Responded to my Yelp quote right away (within minutes) and gave a good analysis quickly based on my pictures. My water tank was very old and was leaking bad in the early morning hours (noticed it before I was on my way to work - 7:30 am). His price was fair based on another quote I received. I decide to have him call me to discuss further and set up a time for him to come out. He was there within the hour. The owner, who I was communicating with, was the one that came and help me out. Very nice guy. Service was quick (removal of broken tank and helped clear out water in the garage). A tech came out the next morning to install the new one. No complaints! Happy with the service and would highly recommended to others.
I had a crazy accident that pulled a spigot off of my house, causing water to shoot out of the wall. Once I was able to get the water shut off, I started calling plumbing companies with high ratings on Yelp. The other two companies I called, explaining my house water was off, etc, weren't able to squeeze us in, or give an estimate. Third company I called was American Plumbing, they were understanding, asked for a picture to give an estimate, and were able to squeeze me into their schedule, getting here a few hours after initial contact. They explained they had to cut the stucco, and aren't able to repair it, but it would be minimal.
They cut about a 2x2 hole around the tiny remaining pipe hanging out of the wall, added more of a nipple that was solid, and got everything working within maybe 20 min. They've earned my business just on account of their flexibility when I was in a pinch. They even showed me that the issue most likely was a cover up from previous owners, which makes since with how easy this thing flew off of the wall. Thank you!!

Impressed!! Called yesterday, I explained the problems that needed repair. Rich explained the process involved to make the repairs and quoted cost. I have used American Plumbing twice this summer. I have had a hot water heater & an outdoor spigot (requiring soldering) replaced. On both occasions Rich was easy to reach, communicated great, scheduled me quickly (within 2 hours for the spigot), and outbid competitors on prices. The work quality was great too. Definitely recommended.

The service guy was really nice and showed how bad our water heater was and all the sediment collected at the bottom of it. I just had American Plumbing & Rooter out for the second time - they were to my house within 20 minutes of my call and fixed my problem within 5 minutes. My garbage disposal fix was discounted, because this company understands the importance of customer service. I will continue to contact them for these needs as they are very fair - would definitely recommend.
We recently came home from being out of town to find a water leak at our house. We called a couple of plumbers and got a few estimates, and were prepared to fully re-pipe our house based on the feedback we were getting.
Rich and his team took the time to perform extensive diagnostics and were able to pinpoint the exact location of the leak, and in turn, saved us from having to re-pipe the whole house. The leak they found ended up being on one water line, and they were able to stop the leak by capping ONE pipe with 10 minutes worth of work.

2. Fair and reasonable price. For my plumbing issue, I contacted American Plumbing and 2 other companies for a quote, and the price I got from American Plumbing is at least 20% cheaper.
3. Quality of work performed. Rich was the technician performing the repair work for me. As promised, he called me 30 minutes prior to his arrival. A skilled professional with 19+ year plumbing experience,Rich completed the repair job quickly, cleanly and within the time frame promised. Had an old leaking spigot in the bathtub. Rich answered the phone, set a time, called ahead as he was on the way, and showed up when he said he would. They are very timely. Rich came in and fix the issue within 10 minutes. Explained the issue and gave me a couple of options on how to fix it. I'll definitely be calling if any else happens.
After attempting to have other plumbing companies to even call me back, Rich was prompt, professional and transparent the entire time. We had suspected an underslab leak, but there was no evident signs other than our meter rapidly running (3-5 gallons/minute!) and hearing the water running in the pipes when nothing was on in the house. Rich came out and confirmed what was going on, and scheduled me the next day to have a leak locator come out. They were able to locate the leak Tuesday, gave me some time to have cabinetry pulled and fixed the leak by noon on Wednesday.
The entire time Rich and Jake were punctual, professional and very honest with what they were finding. Even their leak locator was answering questions for us we hadn't even thought to ask. Prior to fixing the leak on Wednesday they performed a temporary fix Tuesday so we could still have water in the rest of our house and not have to worry about the leak.
There was no salesman pressure to have American Plumbing finish the job. We were absolutely given the opportunity to shop around and use other plumbers. Working for a general contractor, I was able to tell his pricing was more than fair and he was 100% transparent about all costs. There were no hidden fees or anything. The number he told me is what I ended up paying. Even better - he honored a discount that I was not aware of, AND he reduced the cost of the overall job because it went better and quicker than expected.
Short of the long: Rich and Jake are honest and professional, who made us feel like we were being well taken care of. Not once during the entire problem or repair did we feel like we didn't really know what was going on or that we were dealing with a shady business. We will definitely be using them again for any future plumbing needs. Just hopefully not any time soon! Thank you Rich & Jake!
Rich replied back to me promptly and they came out the next day! My water pipe was leaking really bad that my water bill had doubled. So needless to say, I appreciate the professionalism and excellent service they provided.
Rich is a lifesaver! My two year old had an accident with his power wheel and managed to run into a pipe outside and break it right in half. American Plumbing was awesome! They gave me an accurate call ahead time and Jake was right on time. He was helpful and answered all my questions. Jake walked me through everything he was doing and everything looks great. I will definitely use their service again.
I would rate their service 5 stars however when I called on thanksgiving they said the fee would be $99.00 vs the normal $39.00. A tech showed up within 30 minutes. Closer to 15 which was amazing. The tech was great. They cleared the drain. Then the bill. $298.00 !! I only wish they told me the $99. was for the service call only. I would have waited a day.
Rich graciously responded to my call due to a leak in the water heater. He was able to accommodate a replacement during the first hour of the following day and it was already after hours when I called. He also walked me through what I can do to stop the leak until his team arrived. His team did an excellent job of replacing the unit and answering all the questions I had about the work and the unit. And also guided me through the maintenance process to have the unit live as long as possible. I very much appreciate the quick response and enabling me to continue my life with zero interruptions. Rich was amazing! We recently bought a house and discovered our water heater pump was leaking. Rich came out the next day check out the situation, and gave me an estimate on replacing the pump. He also noticed some bad pipe work from whoever installed the water heater originally and gave me an estimate to fix as well. He came back ASAP with the new pump and fixed both the pump and the piping. He was very very thorough and explained everything to me. Moving to a new place can be stressful and finding people you can trust is challenging. His prices were reasonable and his customer service was rockstar! Rich put my fears at ease and is definitely my go to plumber now.

Rich did some quick explanations and troubleshooting over the phone with me (garbage disposal issues), made suggestions, did not oversell, and worked with my crazy schedule.
The day of, I received text notifications and when Kevin arrived, he was extremely professional, knowledgeable and quick. I couldn't believe how fast the job was done. Took out a garbage disposal, tweaked a leak in the same area, and put in a new GD in NO TIME! Super impressive. Was very careful and conscientious (you know, COVID and all) - wore a mask and slippers, typed in my CC#, signed for me, and was nice to my dog. What more could you ask for? Rich did an amazing job replacing my gas water heater. He changed out the outdated, leaking valves that led to it, and took the time to make sure it was working properly. That last step turned out to be vital, because my vent pipe was completely blocked - the rain cap had slid down, partially blocking the exhaust gasses. It was an easy fix, but I never would have known about this potentially dangerous situation if Rich had not alerted me to it. He's also a nice, friendly guy...highly recommended!

Great service!! We discovered that our water would suddenly not get warmer than lukewarm while taking a shower last night. I contacted this company for a quote based on their positive Yelp reviews. So glad we did! We had a new water heater pumping out hot water by 1230 today. Rich was quick to respond, schedule, and get the project done for a more than reasonable price. Only thing that seemed high was the leak pans I had them put underneath the heaters--more expensive and didn't look to be as good or deep as what I saw at Home Depot. Fast, professional and quality workmanship is the foundation of this company. Based on Yelp reviews I called for a quote and right away knew Rich was honest and was right as rain for this job. My friend's hot water heater failed. Since he was not available to manage the service, he asked that I help. Obligated to find the best service provider for my friend I had absolute confidence it was American Plumbing and Rooter after sending pictures to Rich for him to evaluate the job and produce an objective quote.

I read quite a few reviews before picking up the phone to schedule a trip to fix a clogged sink. Even the best reviews can't guarantee a business is going to be all that and more.
I don't need to look any further if I have more issues in the future. These guys will always be my go to company now. They went above and beyond to accommodate my work schedule. Knowing I would have to leave work for them to fix my problem, they gave me a heads up a few hours in advance, and then again when they were on the way. THAT is huge in my book.
I cannot recommend this company highly enough. You will just have to see for yourself why they have earned all the great reviews. You will not be disappointed!
Excellent quality and pricing for the services they provide. No hassle, no nonsense, just top tier quality professionalism. I've hired them three times for a drain cleaning, faucet replacement, and water heater replacement. Each time they were responsive, on time, and did great work at a fair price. They even taught me a few things on proper maintenance for these products. Couldn't recommend these folks more.
Needed to get the valves on the washing machine replaced in advance of some remodeling we were getting started on. Rich responded to my request for a quote through Yelp right away and gave me by far the best price of anyone else that responded. I dropped off the radar for a bit with everything going on but Rich was right there and ready to go when I reached back out a few weeks later. He had someone scheduled the same week.
Jake came out on time and ready to work. Funny story, but Jake previously worked for another plumber I had do some work in the past and remembered installing our water heater! He knocked out the job and left the area as clean as he found it (sans the hole in the wall that was necessary to remove the old valves.) Have you ever experienced getting home after being gone all day and when you pull into your driveway you see water coming out from under your garage door and entry way going all the way down to the end of your street? Well, unfortunately I experienced this just two days ago. I cannot even put into words how I felt when I opened up the garage door and there was a river flowing from my garage!! Things were already floating!! I was in total shock! I couldn't believe my eyes!! Our 75 gallon water heater had exploded. There were several inches of water covering the floor and the water was still profusely coming out of the water heater!! The water was about to get inside the house! I froze. I panicked. I didn't know what to do or how to process everything around me. It almost looked surreal!
I immediately shut off the water going into the house. Since we have a gas water heater I wondered if the massive amount of water and the damage inside the water tank could potentially trigger a gas leakage. Fortunately, a neighbor came over to shut down the gas valve.
Since we have a home warranty, I decided to immediately call them. I can't express how I felt when they informed me that they did not have a plumber available to come to the house. I had an EMERGENCY!! They advised me that I could contact a plumber if I knew one, but I needed to follow their very specific procedures if I wanted to be considered for at least a partial reimbursement for the cost of the service.
We did not know any plumber, so I decided to visit YELP to see if there was anyone available to drop everything to come to my house. Of course, I wanted only the best and that's why I decided to contact the company listed on Yelp with 53 FIVE STAR REVIEWS under Plumbing Service in Chandler: AMERICAN PLUMBING & ROOTER. When I called, Rich promptly answered the phone. I am sure that he sensed panic in the tone of my voice. He carefully listened to me. Rich assured me that someone was going to come to the house within the next 30 minutes. Oh, I cannot express how happy I felt! To my pleasant surprise, a van with the logo of AMERICAN PLUMBING pulled into my driveway ONLY 15 MINS after I had called!!! I couldn't believe my eyes!! A gentleman got out of the van and introduced himself. It was Rich! He said that after talking to me, he decided that he wanted to take care of my emergency himself. Oh!! Talk about service! Rich immediately proceeded to evaluate the situation. Since my husband was at work a great distance from our home, Rich talked to him and carefully explained to my husband what needed to be done. Having Rich take care of everything gave me peace of mind. I knew that we were in great hands and that he would take care of our problem.
Rich spent almost 4 hours on the phone talking to our home warranty company and patiently answered every question. Home warranties are not the easiest to deal with! Their representatives can be inexperienced, annoying, stubborn, and even clueless about the claims they are expected to process. The home warranty representative that was handling our claim was all of that and more. In the middle of the various phone calls Rich remained calmed, in control, very respectful and a total professional. He even multi tasked while talking on the phone while also alternating between checking the water meter and continuing his assessment of our water heater. Never did I feel that I was being pressured or that Rich was taking advantage of us due to the chaos that we were experiencing. He did not leave the house until he restored the water line getting into the house. Even when it was cold water, we were very grateful to him for making sure that at least we had water.
The next morning Rich called to inform us that he had a brand new 75 gallon water heater for us and that he would be at our house at 10:30am to install it. I could barely believe it!
With his wonderful customer service skills, professionalism, knowledge, accuracy, listening skills, friendly personality, attention to details and prompt service Rich was able to transform a chaotic, confusing and totally unexpected experience into a pleasant one.

My water heater went out over the weekend. Rich was very responsive in getting back to me, was articulate in his communication and pricing was very good. He set a time to come out and replace and arrived on time. He and his teammate finished the project in under 2 hours, were clean, and was very informative on maintenance plans and details. When our water heater went out on us and we had done everything we could try to no avail, we decided it was time to go ahead and call the company on the install sticker (the heater was installed with our houses previous owner). Very first phone call, incredible. I relayed some of the basic information of our problem and the make of our water heater, and was told it was most likely a faulty part that Rheem had done a recall on. I was shocked, but in a good way! I can't stress enough, as many of you know, how refreshing it is to find a company that's not trying to gouge you left and right and take advantage of a situation like this where we were kinda in the dark about the heaters install. We were given a reasonable service charge and our technician went ahead and brought the new part with him just in case that was the only thing wrong with it. Sure enough it was, he popped in the new one and we are back up and running. it's actually been several months since, and I feel so bad but I cannot remember the name of our tech, but he was awesome, professional and super friendly. I had a leak on the back of my house from the hose bib. Unfortunately when the house was built some weird 1 1/8 size connector was welded on during the construction. Nothing I could find at the hardware stores would mate to that and I was unable to remove it myself.
I called this company and they were able to come really fast (helps that I live close by). Rich knocked out the work PDQ and we were up and running in no time. Now I have a quality bib that works well. If it should ever go bad in the future I can replace it myself.

Kevin came out and replaced our outside shut off and washer hookups. Even before he came out today, I was speaking with Rich and getting a quote. Everything worked seamlessly and smoothly. I reached out to various plumbers (6 in total) to resolve my low water pressure to my house. All of them were quick to respond to set an appointment. Now I knew the issue I had was more than likely a simple fix.....and it was. However this company didn't reach out to set an appointment right away. Instead they asked me a couple simple questions and for a couple pictures of the water lines to my house. They coached me on how to fix it (using the yelp app to message me btw) and for less than 10 dollars and screwdriver my issue was solved.
This company could have done what the others were trying to do by trying to set an appointment, and honestly I would have just picked one and been happy paying. However they chose the route of helping me troubleshoot it and solve the issue myself which is awesome. To that, I will say is a testament to how honest this company is. They could have just showed up and charged me but they took the non profitable route and help me fix it on my own. Kudos to this company and glad there is still people out there that arnt so easy to make a quick buck. Thank you!
Rich was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process. I messaged via Yelp on a Sunday morning and he replied within 10 minutes. He was able to come out on that following Tuesday and was extremely transparent about the whole process. There was a slab leak and the leak location company they work with was fantastic as well. The fix he did avoided jackhammering up our tile and all that remains is minimal drywall repair. We also got a few other maintenance items taken care of as well. I would highly, highly recommend them for your repairs. Very reasonably priced and the transparency on what needed to be done was so key. I will definitely call them again for any future repairs.

Recently, I learned that we had a slab leak which is all too common in my neighborhood. This knocked out our hot water and was a serious issue for us. Rich and his team were nothing short of fantastic. No water with two kids over a holiday weekend is never fun, but the cost was what really had me worried.
This company came up with a great idea of re-routing the line so we both fixed the issue, and gained peace of mind in regard to the possibility of future losses. They worked quick and extremely hard for a fair price. To make matters worse, I was out of town during the repairs but they kept my wife informed as far as the progress and what additional steps were needed. Overall, I am thrilled with the work, cost, and timeliness of the repairs. I would recommend this company to friends and family with absolutely no hesitation!

Experience with these guys was great from beginning to end. Fast response with online requested quotes and extremely reasonable quotes! My home warranty had send out a plumber from another place to do an inspection after our water heater was leaking profusely. It ended up needing to be replaced entirely but that warranty plumber quoted an out of pocket additional charge for just piping (it was an absurd amount). I decided to get it quoted at American Plumbing and after sending photos and explaining the situation, I got a quick assessment and honest reply about the cost breakdown. The quote was so much more reasonable and they even pointed out that the water heater itself would likely still be under the manufacturer's warranty. I'd recommend this place for anyone who's looking for a plumbing quote!

I contacted American Plumbing about some mystery dry rot we noticed in a weird spot. The owner responded to me almost immediately and troubleshooted with me via Yelp messenger to see if he could figure out what was going on before giving me a quote to come to the house. He was honest and let me know that he did not believe it was a plumbing issue after all and even offered to refer me to a different company who may be able to help. I will definitely use them for any future plumbing issues we may have!
The repairs Rich did on his last visit didn't repair the original issue. Which he told me which again was very honest. Another service call was made & quoted. He showed up on time was very professional, clean & communicative again. He even went above & beyond & didn't do any additional unnecessary repairs. Instead he put some serious elbow grease in & got the job done for almost 1/2. Now the repair is complete & the first visit fixed issues I didn't even know I had. I'd recommend Rich. He's a great & honest plumber.

Honest and reputable company! I had a small project and reached out for a quote, and instead of charging me a ton of money to come out, they gave me great advice on how to take care of it myself. I really appreciated our short interaction and I know that when I really do have a big job in the future I will be calling American Plumbing and Rooter first.
Rich over at American Plumbing and Rooter was extremely helpful in my time of need. He went above and beyond explaining what could be causing the hot water in my home to only last for a short period. After several discussions on yelp and text messages, I believe replacing the old water heater was the cause, as he suggested.
I considered his input and after discussing this matter with several other companies and my family, I chose to move forward with another business. However, that in no way undermines the professionalism and courtesy offered by Rich and his company.

Great company!! Called at 7am when I discovered my hot water tank had blown, and Rich picked up the phone. They were out in a few hours and did a fast repair! For over 12 hours Rich with American Plumbing and Rooter stood by my side (me in NYC) and my tenants' side (them in Phoenix) during one of the most trying times I've ever had as a homeowner and landlord.
Last July I used another plumber to rectify roots in my sewer line. The issue resumed and I contacted the same plumbing company used last time but received a new rep. He found a significant root issue at the tap of my line and said he'd need to go through my concrete driveway with an estimate for the job at $4,000. I hadn't connected as well with this new rep as I had with the prior rep and having to start all over with a new guy was daunting. I decided to reach out to other plumbers who specialized in sewer repair for a second opinion on Monday morning. I was delighted when:
MONDAY - 9AM ET
Rich answered the phone and explained his approach to my sewer line issue including potential costs. It worth noting he never once took the opportunity to dismantle the reputation of the other plumbing company. He went to the property that afternoon even though he was booked-out thru Wednesday since my tenants had not been able to use water since Saturday.
12PM ET
Rich calls me while he was able to clear the line (without going thru the driveway) he went further out and at 60 feet (the street) he discovered a significant issue; water hiding the line which he could not push thru. He explained that it could either be my line or the city's main line, and since it was under the street it would be a very big job.
Rich guided me thru the entire process of how I would need to find out who would be responsible for the repair--me as homeowner or the city. He instructed I call Precision Location Services--he even calls them to tell them the situation is urgent--so that they can take a video which I will need to further diagnose the issue as well as use to prove it is the city's responsibility. He lets me know what fee to expect from Precision Location Services and that he trusts them implicitly. He also suggests that I contact the city sewer department to get the ball rolling. I contact the city and they send out a foreman immediately.
12:30 PM ET:
My tenant calls me and says the city went there to inspect, and they requested I get a plumber and video guy out as they discover the line is under water when they open the manholes. Precision Locations Services gets their guy out to the home within 30 minutes.
1:00PM ET.
Precision Location Services and City of Phoenix Utilities Supervisor are at the home and city says they need a plumber by law. I call Rich who is on another job and he drops everything to go to my home.
5:00 PM ET
Rich calls me onsite with an update: There is a huge blockage that cannot be determined if it is my line or the city's. I can hear Rich speaking with the City's Utilities Supervisor and my tenant as if they were brothers - he's representing me in the best light possible and I've known him for 8 hours. My financial livelihood depends on the city picking up this huge tab and my tenant's well- being and happiness! The result: The city deems it is their responsibility to rectify and my tenant sends me the following text: You have a big heart. I hope you are blessed for your help. Thank you again for everything.
7:40PM ET - 10:30PM
Tenant updates: There are 8 men, 5 trucks, a backhoe. They finally got to the main pipe, it was 6 feet 5 down. They are cleaning the hole before opening the pipe to see what it is. They had to get a vacuum to pull out the roots. Years of growth, very tight and 20 deep into pipe almost a solid plug. They used Sawzall to break it up to pull it out.
Rich made himself available to me last evening up until 10:30 my time. He assures me the city is taking care of it and that it is either severe root issue or collapsed line but not to worry as it is finally being rectified. It is clear to Rich at 10:30PM ET that I am overwhelmed and exhausted. He texts: Yes, it is a lot for anyone to handle. You stayed cool, this is a BIG DEAL and I'm happy you called us to go out : )

Absolutely amazing service! One of the restrooms in our office starting leaking and the shut off valve was breaking making for a very messy situation. I got an immediate response from Rich who made sure to get us scheduled in for that same day. He was courteous and thorough and even sent us notifications when he was on the way. I 100% recommend calling Rich at American Plumbing and Rooter. My sewage ejector pump in my basement died overnight and i saw some water coming out of the pit at 7am. I reached out to Rich who immediately called and chatted with me. He gave me an estimate for a full replacement if the pump was shot. Rich arrived at 10am (he told me late morning to early afternoon, so this was awesome he came quick). Rich pulled the old pump out explained what was going on, showed me all the tests he ran on the pump to try and get it to work, but sadly the 15 year old pump was dead. Rich honored his estimate, cleaned the entire pit and installed a nicer pump than I had and was done by lunch. I have zero bad experiences with Rich and completely agree with all of his other great reviews!
Very prompt and professional service from this company. I spoke to Rich through both the chat version of Yelp APP and on the phone. Scheduling was very easy.
