Can you call me re: the ice maker? Can't stand living without ice. Those cheap little ice cube trays are making me crazy.

I looked on Rinnai's website for a water heater licensed contractor in my area and sent an e-mail through Rinnai's web services.  After speaking to several technicians, I picked this company because of the fact the technician made an appointment right away and highly recommended the unit I am interested in.

We set an appointment today for 3:30pm and I took the day off from work with the intention of meeting with this technician but at around 1:00 pm he called and said because I live in New England this unit would not work for my house hold and that he wouldn't be able to assist me.

I called Rinnai immediately for clarification and also I was referred to the RU98i support for additional information.

Nice way to blow me off Mister and complete disregard of my time.  I was very clear with the technician that I will have to take the day off, he said he wish he had known.  Totally unapologetic and hung up.

ZERO recommendation score from me.

I called White's recently to replace a leaking 3 foot section of cast iron sewer line.

After calling 6 other local plumbers, White's was the only one able to stop by the day the leak started, temporarily repair it, and come back the next day to complete the job. They were decent, courteous, neat, and fast.

However, they charged $2400 in labor for a repair that took 4 hours and about $50 in parts. I expected to pay more for an emergency repair, but not to be taken.

If you are willing to pay a premium, White's will do an excellent job. However, there are lots of great plumbers in the area and I'd recommend shopping around before choosing White's.

For my entire life my dad was a plumber/heating contractor so we never had to think about who to call.  Dad is now in his 90's so when my tenants furnace stopped working in January we were in a panic because we needed to have it replaced ASAP.  I found White's Plumbing & Heating in Medford and called them.  It was a great choice.  

They came out the next morning to give us a price and work started almost immediately.  We had to have an abatement company remove the furnace due to asbestos and.our chimney relined and White's took care of all those arrangements as well.  We are very pleased with the service, and they were very reasonably priced.  They are now our go to plumbing and heating company.

Visited one of my rental properties to resolve a leaking fixture through my coverage with a home warranty.  Only part of the service was covered by warranty company.  They left without giving me the option to pay for additional service, and they didn't answer their phone.  so I needed to contact an additional plumber.

White's performed a fantastic oil to gas conversion (and indirect hot water heater) in my home. I can't say enough good things about this local, small family business. A few things of note:

- Tom came to perform an estimate about 6 weeks before the work. Boilers don't grow on trees, so plan ahead, they need time just to get parts.

- That said, Tom is a plumber, not a salesman, so his on-site estimate was spot on and they had everything needed to do the job in a single day.

- Winter is busy season. Took a few hours to hear back after leaving my initial message, that's because these people are working sweating pipe, not answering phones. Be patient!

- They take credit card as a form of payment (except things they contract out, I.e. chimney lining). Saves from needing to move large sums of money and writing big checks!

- In by 0830, done by 1630. No mess left behind, professional, courteous, and they take their time to do it right the first time.

- Tom explained how the system works, and verified correct operation before he left. And it's still working great. Also helped get the rebate paperwork in order so I can get some money back in a few weeks.

- One last point... the whole Mass Saves thing is a bit confusing. MassSaves is nothing more than a zero-percent loan for a heating system. That said, it also comes with strings, i.e. their money, their rules, and limited options on heating systems. Efficiency is based on a particular size system, and not one-size fits all, and your home may not fit the mold. For example, a motorcycle engine is very efficient on a bike, but won't work to power a car, right?  Tom and his family are professionals who know their stuff. If they think the system dictated by MassSaves isn't right for your home, it probably isn't.  F.Y.I. you can still get rebates back even without taking the MassSaves loan.  My personal advise: ask them what you need before going the MassSaves route if you have sufficient time and can potentially afford a loan through a different avenue.

Had my boiler fail this past weekend and lost my hot water.  White's was at the top of the list for manufacturer recommendations.  Called and left a voicemail,  no response.  Called 5 times Monday,  no answer and still not return call from my message.  Don't hold your breath with these people!

White's did an oil to gas conversion at my 100+ year old home. Tom and his brother were punctual, professional, efficient, and thorough. He even predicted that there was a risk to my AC based on where the cooling coil was located, which other contractors did not notice when they did their estimates. He took special care to avoid damaging the AC while working. Very pleased with their work and will definitely use them again.

Several years ago we had White's convert our old oil heating system to gas!!  I've been recommending them ever since!!  Great job - done on time.  No problems since.  Always answer my calls if I have any questions.  CALL THEM TODAY!!!

This is a family-run business: Dad, Sons Brian and Tom, and  Mom answers the phone in the office. They converted my old oil heating system to a new, energy efficient gas system, including the installation of a new furnace, chimney liner, and all pipes. They also installed a new hot water heater. They are professional, courteous, and always return calls promptly.  Sometimes I call just to ask a home-owner-related question, and they are always happy to help and provide friendly advice.  Fair, honest, highly skilled, very congenial.  I'm so grateful to these guys for helping me keep my home warm and safe.  Highly recommended. The best!!!!!

They were inexpensive, quick and extremely professional and courteous. I live on the street with one of the family members, and always friendly and even helped out plow my driveway with the recent storm. Will definitely use them again for any heating or plumbing need.
